Review #517: Charles F. Scott "3rd World: 2-1 Nation Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 6.13.2010 (Review #517)

Tha next review I have right now iz Charles F. Scott “3rd World: 2-1 Nation Vol. 1. He hit me up on DatPiff so let’s see what he about… Start Time: 11:30 PM | End Time: 11:49 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Intro (Ode 2 New Orleans)”
Let’s hear what you got! >>> Ooh, some original production; dat’s a plus. Sounds good for a start… Not bad on tha 1st verse but put your flow in rappin’ mode; dat’s what I would like ta hear. Pretty political here… Ooh, a gurl on tha hook; acceptable. Tha 2nd verse has more interestin’ shit… My Rating: 3.6

02. “Power Of The Paper”
Lookin’ more political here… >>> What’s up wit tha scary, choking-type voice in tha beginning? LOL @ tha unlisted singers for tha hooks… This one sounds not bad; good content. More real shit comin’ from you in tha 1st verse; pretty good… Tha flow iz slightly betta this time. Tha 2nd verse ain’t bad… At 2:49.75, it was a quick paste? About a short part of a second was missin’ from tha beginning of tha hook, lol. My Rating: 3.7

03. “Food For Thought (Part 1)”
>>> Not tha kinda joint I would be crazy about for a start wit tha production. Sounds like a “Rosa Parks” story here for tha 1st verse? Kinda boring wit your flow… Work on it so these lyrics can be catchy, since they’re strong… Kinda unexpected wit tha sample at tha end… My Rating: 3.1

½time: It’s okay so far. You can make good anthems if you would work on your flow a lil’ bit… Current average CD rating right now iz at 3.5.

04. “Truth Every Time”
I wonder about this one… >>> Betta production and it sounds like it’s a lil’ on tha betta side for tha hook here. Tha 1st verse sounds like you’re addin’ a lil’ flava to tha flow this time; good… I like tha “smoke weed” part; it’s all about feelin’ good. Tha 2nd verse’s ehh… “Revive good music?” I dunno… It’s aight; tha sound iz missin’ from REAL GR8 music… ERR-BODY has tha same, boring-ass production wit their songs in tha mainstream these dayz… My Rating: 3.4

05. “Food For Thought (Part 2)”
LOL, Part 2 already? >>> How random dat it becomes a jacked beat? “Mr. Me Too”, lol. Sounds consistent wit rappin’ this lil’ verse; good job. My Rating: 3.7

06. “Outro (Ode 2 Life)”
Ending? >>> How yucky? I heard this beat before wit tha baby-soundin’ gurl on tha sample… Tha beat sounds a lil’ different? Maybe tha one I heard dubbed or somethin’? Anyway, pretty real wit tha content here but you need a lil’ work on tha flow here. My Rating: 3.3

Overall: Not bad; it was an aight lil’ CD. I didn’t love any of tha songs on it; I just thought they were not bad.

Rankings (according to my ratings):

06. “Food For Thought (Part 1)” 3.1
05. “Outro (Ode 2 Life)” 3.3
04. “Truth Every Time” 3.4
03. “Intro (Ode 2 New Orleans)” 3.6
02. “Food For Thought (Part 2)” 3.7
01. “Power Of The Paper” 3.7
