Reviewed on 6.15.2010 (Review #526)
Well, I made it, lol! I’m up ta my 8th and final review for today, lol! This right chea iz King George “Life Of A Kingpin”! Start Time: 11:50 PM | End Time: 1:03 AM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Intro
Short lil’ “intro” here… >>> I like tha sound effect in tha background! My Rating: N/A
02. “Shady”
Let’s see what’s good! >>> Speakin’ of gr8 sounds, here’s a good beat start! You’re soundin’ good on tha 1st verse here, str8 hood shit! Huh? What’s wit tha hook? Kinda childish? LOL, I like tha “shit/bird nest” part in tha 2nd verse! My Rating: 3.5
03. “As My World Turns (Playa Mix)” Feat. Gangsta Poet, Thicker Than Water & Grip
Tha length doubled or somethin’ outta nowhere, lol? >>> Tha beat’s good… You sound motivated for tha 1st verse… This hook’s much betta wit tha way it sounds compared ta tha last one! I like tha “watch tha herb burn” part at tha end of it! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you comin’ through wit some good hood shit… Keepin’ it goin’, you got tha 3rd verse here, “tryna hustle” and “tryna stay outta trouble.” LOL, a lady hopped onta dis? Not sourced but it must be Mia X; dat’s tha only lady I can think of… Nice job from her collaboratin’! My Rating: 4.2
04. “Street Sense” Feat. Gaston & Grip
Let’s see how “street” dis iz! >>> Tha beat’s good here and tha 1st verse’s strictly “street” right chea; gotta feel tha content! Tha hook’s really official wit how thangz sound, ya dig! Tha 2nd verse’s givin’ dat startin’ advice: “Don’t cry, dry your eyes!” Pretty good verse… Tha 3rd verse’s pretty good wit tha soundin’ so far. Definitely keepin’ it “street” once again! My Rating: 4.1
05. “Check Your Game”
Let’s see this “game” goin’ on (status wise), lol… >>> Pretty cool beat soundin’ here; you’re soundin’ like you’re in tha G-Funk mode. Tha 1st verse did a pretty good job… Tha hook sounds catchy; you got some catchy hooks on your CD here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ like you’re deliverin’ shit as it’s actually happenin’… LOL, tha outro on dis sounds like an outro to a CD. My Rating: 4.1
06. “So Much Ca$h (Another Day, Another Dollar)” Feat. Grip
Looks like this iz for tha hood too. >>> Tha intro sounds pretty gutta here… Good shit you spit in tha 1st verse, holdin’ it down. Tha hook’s good; almost sounds offbeat on tha 4th ¼ of it, lol. Tha 2nd verse’s keepin’ it real here…; good job. Tha 3rd verse sounds like you’re lettin’ out an emotional scare or somethin’ in your voice? You sound paranoid fa tha “ca$h” or somethin’, lol? Ooh, a 24 second outro ta spice thangz up; thumbs up ta tha skit! My Rating: 3.9
07. “Life Of A Kingpin”
What do we got fa tha title track here? >>> Tha beat’s a lil’ slower here but keeps dat G-Funk sound in it… Tha 1st verse has a slower flow too but also keeps it street, ya dig! “Can’t take my dig-ni-ty like tha Statue of Liberty;” GR8 line!! KEEP YOUR “DIGNITY!!!” Tha 2nd verse’s showin’ dat you got more ta spit fa tha hood here; I’m sure they listenin’! Tha 2nd hook sounds kinda long? Did it repeat or somethin’? Tha 3rd verse’s good too… Some kids are at tha end here… My Rating: 3.7
08. The Snitch
What could this be for a skit? >>> Ouch! Racist shit wit how tha cop (or whoeva) says “nigger;” I’m not likin’ tha racist talkin’… Scary skit IMO. My Rating: N/A
09. “Out Tha Pen” Feat. Grip
You were in jail? Shit… Hope it wasn’t too bad or anything… >>> Tha beat’s G-Funkish and it sounds like you still have tha same flow/sound from tha last joint, lol. Tha hook sounds good. Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ betta here; you know I luv when I hear “Louisiana” in a song! Tha 3rd verse’s aight; it’s straight… My Rating: 3.8
10. “My Message” Feat. Larry D
A “message” dat’s 4:42, lol? >>> Oh, a song… I guess you presentin’ a “message” song style, lol. Sounds like sad content… I like how you spit about “dignity;” thumbs up! LOL, tha hook has some pretty serious singin’, lol! I think it sounds good; I’m likin’ it… Tha 2nd verse sounds good fa this song also… Tha 3rd verse iz you just keepin’ it real; you holdin’ down tha ending too… My Rating: 3.9
½time: Not bad so far but just like tha Kane & Abel CD I just reviewed, statistically, it seems betta… Tha average CD rating’s at 3.9 right now.
11. “One Day At Time”
Where’s tha “a” in tha title, lol? >>> Sounds interestin’ wit tha drivin’ scene in tha beginning… It kicked in ‘round 1:05 and there’s a pretty good beat here wit tha shit you spittin’. Good job wit tha 1st verse and tha hook’s simple as hell, lol. Tha 2nd verse sounds cool wit tha “ah” syllables in tha 1st two lines, lol. Good job wit dis hook as you made it catchy! Tha 3rd verse sounds like you tryna survive in dis game… My Rating: 3.7
12. “Deep In The Game” Feat. Sassy V
Looks like this gon be anotha gr8 track; lemme check it out! >>> G-Funkish beat; “tha year 2000” was an unknown back then. We didn’t know it was gonna happen, lol. Tha hook’s not bad; it’s a lil’ betta than tha last hook… Ooh, this gurl Sassy V’s on tha 2nd verse outta nowhere! She sounds pretty good… My Rating: 3.9
13. “Play On Me”
>>> Ooh, a good start wit tha beat and tha hook—Wait, tha hook’s on tha child-type again. Damn… Dat’s not really a way ta make it catchy! Tha 1st verse on tha decent tip and tha 2nd verse’s only okay too…; too bad for this beat. I wish tha joint would come out betta… A lil’ outro here too… LOL, you had ta say tha hook again, huh, lol? My Rating: 3.2
14. “As My World Turns” Feat. Gangsta Poet, Thicker Than Water & Grip
>>> Tha beat’s not bad and tha song so far iz straight again… LOL, I was just about ta say, dis iz familiar… This iz just tha original version, lol. I caught tha “herb burn” part in tha hook! I’m likin’ dis 2nd verse a whole lot so I’m givin’ it a HUGE plus this time; gangsta shit!! Tha rest of dis iz gr8 too… My Rating: 4.3
15. “Incarceration”
Good title… >>> You’re talkin’ in tha intro and tha beat sounds pretty good… Tha 1st verse’s somethin’ you’re comin’ from and tha hook sounds aight… Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’ve been livin’ fa a while and know a lotta thangz… It’s gettin’ kinda borin’ all of a sudden…; add somethin’ to tha flow or somethin’… My Rating: 3.6
16. “Eye 4 An Eye” Feat. Sandman
Let’s see dis collab! >>> Tha sounds are pretty gutta in tha beginning. Now, it sounds like a good gangsta-type joint wit tha way tha 1st verse iz soundin’! Damn, tha hook’s pretty raw; raw as hell wit tha witnessin’!! Sandman sounds cool on tha voice here for tha 2nd verse… He spittin’ some good-ass, catchy-ass rhymes too wit dat voice of his! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty good here; now this iz tha flow I like! I also really like tha content and Sandman holdin’ down some of tha endin’! My Rating: 4.4
17. The Revival
LOL, what kinda skit’ll this be? >>> I dunno what ta say but lol @ tha beat sound in tha background. My Rating: N/A
18. “Playa Hate” Feat. Black Gold
Let’s see what dis gon sound like. >>> Ooh, feelin’ tha upbeat style… LOL, Black Gold comin’ through wit tha singin’; she sounds good… Tha 1st verse sounds good wit how you flowin’ on dis… Tha hook’s cool; I still feel dat gurl! Tha 2nd verse’s good too wit tha flowin’ and shit; will there be room for a 3rd verse? Yes, there iz, and you’re doin’ a nice job spittin’ some good rhymes here… My Rating: 3.6
19. “Tales From Da Hood” Feat. Calli G & Ki-Ki
Just heard a “tales” title one or two reviewz ago and now, I get ta hear anotha one! Let’s see what kinda “tales” you be spittin’! >>> Tha beat’s pretty street/1:00 AMish (wit tha way it sounds, lol) and you spittin’ some good shit for tha “hood” in tha 1st verse. LOL, gotta feel tha hook; I like how it sounds!! It’s a lil’ simple but it’s delivered GR8! I believe dat Calli dude, who was on tha hook, iz on tha 2nd verse here and doin’ his thang! Gangsta shit pumpin’ through tha veins! ROFL @ tha laughin’ in tha hook ova dis siren! “George of tha jungle”’s on tha 3rd verse here, lol! You know you doin’ ya thang… Ooh, tha 2nd part of tha 3rd verse iz Calli, spittin’ good shit… Tha 3rd part iz you, soundin’ good; only two bars this time? Tha 4th ¼ wound up bein’ Calli and it was four bars, lol. My Rating: 4.5
EDIT: I didn’t even realize there was anotha feature (Ki-Ki) so dat person was prolly in tha mix somewhere…
20. “Street Junkies”
Cool title; lemme hear! >>> Tha beat’s cool and you sound pretty good on tha 1st verse so far… LOL, no hook? I like tha talkin’ though… LOL, tha rest of tha joint was talkin’ and now, I hear tha title all of a sudden, lol? My Rating: 3.7
21. Outro
Time ta end tha night… >>> Tha beat sounds pretty cool here… Lookin’ like a bunch of shout outs here.
