Time fa tha last 1996 CD in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon, lol! It’s comin’ from Unspoken Vandals “When It Rains, It Pours”! How will we end tha year ’96? Start Time: 1:12 AM | End Time: 2:12 AM


Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Sinner’s Prayer”
I dunno what kinda start dis iz so lemme hear it. >>> Tha intro’s cool and now, tha beginning of tha song sounds like a white rapper? Tha beat’s kinda Soulful here… Tha 1st verse ain’t bad for a 1st listen; tha lyrics are tellin’ an interestin’ story here so they get props. Tha 2nd verse’s straight too… Glad y’all a group, doin’ ya thang. Damn, a “prayer” at tha end? Shit, no… Not in a Rap song! My Rating: 3.2


02. “No Way Out” Feat. Ball Head & Scatter
Let’s hear dis collaboration… >>> Uh oh, a news story in tha beginning… Tha 1st verse sounds good… There’s a 2nd part to tha 1st verse and tha rappin’s a lil’ betta… I’m likin’ tha pacin’ here. Tha hook sounds like singin’ and tha news story; good combo. Tha 2nd verse has a lotta “police”/good scenes goin’ on here; interestin’… Tha 2nd part in tha 2nd verse’s pretty street wit tha “addicted to dat crack” shit for tha start. Pretty gutta wit tha rhymes! Tha 3rd part of tha 2nd verse sounds good too; catchy flow here! My Rating: 3.8


03. “Hear Where I’m Comin’ From”
Let’s hear dis… >>> Ooh, a “bruh” start here; good conversation! I like “hearin’” tha storm in tha beginning too… Tha hook sounds good wit how y’all comin’ through wit it. Tha 1st verse’s pretty lyrical on a catchy tip!! Nice job wit this hood shit to tha fullest! Tha 2nd verse’s good too wit tha content connection here. Dat hook’s startin’ ta sound real good now; very catchy! Tha 3rd verse’s good wit tha catchy, lyrical shit! My Rating: 4.3


04. “Can’t Stop A Player”
What will this one sound like? >>> Interestin’ intro again. Tha beat sounds good here… A couple of y’all hoppin’ onto tha 1st verse here, spittin’ some good shit, combined. Tha 1st ½ was good for a few lines but it sounds betta wit tha 2nd ½ wit tha voice ta hold dis shit down. Tha 2nd verse sounds good wit real catchy punchlines here! Speakin’ of catchy punchlines, tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse’s doin’ tha same; good shit! My Rating: 4.0


05. “Money Thang”
Must be interestin’… >>> Yup, anotha good intro ta hold dis shit down! Tha beat start here sounds anticipatin’! Ooh, some gangsta-shootin’ goin’ on before tha hook comes on! Tha hook sounds like it gon be an anthem! Tha 1st verse sounds cool wit tha scene goin’ on wit anxiety. I also give a plus to tha “smokin’ Endo;” good shit… Tha 2nd verse sounds cool wit contributin’ to dis joint. Y’all soundin’ like a good group fa dis undaground Louisiana Rap shit! Tha 3rd verse’s keepin’ it street too; consistentness!! There’s a 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse here and it sounds good wit tha rappin’! Tha outro sounds to-tha-point. My Rating: 4.4


06. “It Haven’t Been Easy” Feat. Ruth Robinson
Lemme hear dis. >>> Fade-in intro? Doesn’t sound like I would be able ta handle dis; what’s wit tha female vocalizin’ in tha beginnin’? Doesn’t sound like it fits… It’s even in tha background of tha 1st verse here. Tha 1st verse iz what it iz… I thought tha hook would be worse but it iz what it iz again. Tha 2nd verse has pretty expressive lyrics here in tha “vocals;” good… Tha 3rd verse’s a lil’ personal. I’m actually goin’ through a lil’ somethin’ personal now: Sadly, someone who I thought was prolly my favorite rapper iz bein’ shady to me. I don’t get it… I only support! My Rating: 2.7


07. “Thoughts Of A Dead Man”
How will this sound? >>> Tha beat’s a lil’ on tha straight side… Tha 1st verse sounds good wit how tha lyrics are bein’ delivered… Tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse’s pretty gutta for tha street content here! Good shit… Tha hook sounds real interestin’ wit tha whisperin’ of tha title! Ooh, some talkin’ before tha 2nd verse; good surprise. Tha 2nd verse I kinda can’t connect to (wit havin’ a kid at tha moment) but it sounds like it’s delivered really good… Tha hook sounds different now and still sounds good. I just thought it sounded cool when it was whispered. My Rating: 4.1

08. “When It Rains, It Pours” Feat. Ruth Robinson
Tha title track but dat gurl’s back on dis… >>> Ahh, tha same sound from #6 dat kinda scared me… Tha 1st verse’s expressin’ shit here… Tha 2nd verse sounds betta; much betta wit expressin’ tha lyrics… Tha 3rd verse has a good voice ta hold this shit down. Although it ain’t my style, I give it props ta contributin’ to tha track. Bad singin’ endin’ fa dis… My Rating: 2.9


09. “Coming From The South Side”
Let’s see how dis title gon sound… >>> Sounds Bounce/upbeat wit tha beat style here; cool beat wit a smooth vibe. Tha 1st verse sounds pretty good for tha “South.” Tha hook sounds catchy; feelin’ it… “Cookin’ gumbo” for tha 2nd verse here; good shit! Sounds like some alternatin’ in tha 2nd verse here, soundin’ good every two bars! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty lyrical here; feelin’ it this time! My Rating: 3.7


10. “End Of The World”
>>> Tha beat sounds a lil’ different here and it sounds cool. I gotta hear tha hook again ta judge it. For now, lemme hear tha 1st verse… Good, interestin’ lyrics… Sounds like some facts bein’ addressed in tha hook; not bad wit how it sounds. Tha 2nd verse sounds like a white rapper for some reason… I guess tha “cursed out my mutha” just gives it dat sound or somethin’ in tha voice… I dunno but it’s pretty good wit tha lyrics. But, they’re not really fa me… Both ½ verses on tha 3rd verse contributed not bad ta dis… My Rating: 3.4


11. “Geneside” Feat. Blow
What’ll this one sound like? Tha title’s pretty gutta… >>> REALLY feelin’ tha beat intro dis time!! Luvin’ tha sound and tha hook sounds pretty gutta!! This could be tha best joint on here!! Tha 1st verse sounds REAL GR8 wit tha catchy lyrics!! It’s all about “representin’” fa tha undaground dogs!! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty gutta and good fa dis kinda joint!! Tha lyrics are REAL GR8!! Tha verse ended wit “before I expire!” Good shit here and I’m lookin’ forward ta tha rest of tha 2:06 dat’s left; ½way through!! Tha 3rd verse sounds real interestin’ wit tha real-life lyrics; good hood shit!! Tha ending’s pretty good wit tha singin’ too… This iz a plus fa me. My Rating: 4.6


12. “Speed Ball” Feat. Concrissa Smith
Tha feature looks like a gurl? I dunno what I’ll think of dis… >>> Ooh, completely different direction here for tha intro as it’s about some GR8 smokin’-type shit!! GR8 intro and I think I heard tha featured artist sing a lil’ background vocal before tha 1st verse started; she sounded good… Tha 1st verse sounds gr8 wit dis HOT beat; good shit! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse’s REAL CONSISTENT wit tha way tha lyrics sound!! Tha hook’s straight; I can accept it. Tha 2nd verse sounds good; always gotta stay prepared! Tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good wit dis consistent lyrical shit!! There’s a 3rd part of tha 2nd verse and it’s good also! I rather’ve heard more catchy “smokin’”-type rhymes though… Oh wait, tha last hook has a lil’ bit of some good drug-related lyrics! Good outro on dis too… My Rating: 4.4


13. “Everyday Shit”
Kinda long on tha length so I hope it ain’t bad fa me… >>> Tha intro sounds good wit y’all tryin’ ta “get up;” good intro here! Tha beat’s okay and tha 1st verse sounds pretty good wit tha catchy flow. There’s not much in tha hook on here… Tha 2nd verse sounds good; I luv tha background ad-libs outta nowhere! A “blue black” you said, lol? Gotta give a shout out once again (today no less) to my boy “BluBlack!” Ooh, there’s no 3rd verse but a long-ass outro here? Feelin’ what y’all talkin’ ‘bout… My Rating: 3.9


14. “South Side (Remix)”
Let’s see how tha remix sounds for an ending song… >>> Tha beat sounds like a good slice of G-Funk for a start here. Tha hook’s cool… I like tha start to tha 1st verse wit tha “boot in, boot out” shit, remindin’ me of my boyz tha Maxx Out Boyz “Buck In, Buck Out”! I like all dat “I’m comin’, I’m comin’, I’m comin’” shit before tha actual hook! I believe dis sounds betta than tha original version. Nice job wit tha rest of tha song, still holdin’ it down on dis beat! My Rating: 4.2


Overall: Once again, this CD wasn’t dat bad for me. An okay ending to 1996. I think 1995 was betta fa me wit tha CDs… Anyway, keep up tha gr8 work…
