Reviewed on 5.05.2010 (Review #438)
Just took a nap and now, I’m here ta do Review #7 fa today: Master P “99 Ways To Die”! Start Time: 6:16 PM | End Time: 7:26 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Intro/17 Reasons”
Let’s hear this 1995 P!! >>> Sounds like you’re prepared right chea… Interestin’ intro right chea and once again, you’re ready! At 1:46, tha song starts and it has a pretty good sample here… Oh, maybe it started at 2:03? Soundin’ pretty good here wit your extended topic rhymes! You doin’ a nice job on tha 1st verse wit all tha shit you have for these “17 reasons.” Tha hook sounds good and once again, you’re prepared for dat gangsta shit. Keepin’ it street in tha 2nd verse right chea wit dat hood shit; good job. You have a good attitude for these reasons and for how you’re deliverin’ this shit right chea! Let’s see what we got fa tha 3rd verse… You doin’ ya thang here and I like how you said, “Black Dirty Harry,” ‘cause my boy outta dat 985 iz Dirty Harry, a REALLY GR8 rapper out now dat I fucks wit heavy!! Good job on dat quote, P! My Rating: 4.4
02. Commercial 1
A commercial break already, huh, lol? >>> LOL, I hear a female in tha background so dis should be good!! Very Master Pful, lol. Sounded like some good sex she was givin’ you (when she was givin’ you head) ‘til you said, “Bitch, you bit me!!” OUCH!! My Rating: N/A
03. “Dead Presidents”
Lookin’ like it’ll be a pretty good joint; thumbs up on tha title. >>> Not bad on tha beat here but you got this shit on lock wit your rappin’! I like tha fast rappin’ from :26 - :32! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, reppin’ TRU to tha fullest! Very consistent goin’ on here wit tha verse (I don’t know if it transitioned to tha 3rd verse or stayed on tha 2nd verse); a lot goin’ on. My Rating: 3.8
04. “Rollin’ Thru My Hood” Feat. Big Ed, Lil’ Ric, King George & Silkk The Shocker
What a line-up here! Let’s see how it pay$ off!! >>> You’re startin’ off tha 1st verse wit good rhymes here. Tha hook started off nice and catchy and your rhymes keep it good. Nice job wit tha 1st verse and now, it transitioned quickly to tha 2nd verse wit a short amount of tha hook. Tha late Big Ed right here on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ some good “hood” shit right chea. It transitioned to a nursey rhyme on tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse here… Not bad but a lil’ weird wit tha nursey rhyme. Here’s tha 3rd verse; a lil’ betta here… REALLY enjoyin’ tha rapid rappin’ randomly in this verse! Tha 4th verse iz here and I picture “rollin’ thru tha hood” wit these cool rhymes here. It also iz keepin’ it “hood” wit tha rhymes goin’ on here. My Rating: 4.5
05. “Bullets Gots No Name” Feat. E-A-Ski & Rally Ral
This looks interestin’… Nice and on tha gangsta side I predict! >>> LOL @ these “not-named bullets!” This sounds good when tha 1st verse comes through wit Rally Ral on it plus tha beat! Nice job wit tha verse; gr8 collaboration to Cali! Shout out Alexia and Hannibal, my peeps! I’m likin’ this hook; good collaboration once again! Here’s tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ catchy; thumbs up to tha featured dudes. Really comin’ through wit tha hood shit (of course, tha title has “bullets” in it)! Tha whole 2nd verse rode through nicely; good shit once again! Here’s tha 3rd verse wit you on it and it almost reminds me of some Cali-influenced rappin’ right chea; once again, nice collaboration! Nice job, P; “gats together.” My Rating: 4.4
06. “When They Gone”
This iz long (6:24 on tha length); what do we have goin’ on here? >>> Soundin’ like 90’s Rap music and has an interestin’ intro here. A personal P here spittin’ some good shit for tha hood. Tha beat sounds good here and tha hook’s good too; likin’ how it sounds. Tha 2nd verse has some pretty lyrical lyrics here; interestin’ shit bein’ spit here. Interestin’ family lyrics goin’ on here in tha 3rd verse; likin’ this lil’ lyrical song here. Sounds like a really long outro here, clockin’ it at at least 100 seconds. My Rating: 4.2
½time: Lookin’ like a good CD right chea, P! You got tha connections from tha dope game to tha rappers to tha producers and dat’s a plus! Keep up tha gr8 work! Tha average CD rating iz at 4.3 right now; good shit!
07. “Playa Wit Game” Feat. Simply Dre, King George & Silkk The Shocker
That’s what you are; let’s see how you express it! >>> Anotha good beat here and pretty interestin’ wit tha lyrics for a start. Tha hook sounds good; tha singin’ flows through nicely on this! Tha 2nd verse gives this shit a nice vibe ta enjoy yourself to tha fullest! Tha 3rd verse flowed through pretty nice here too; y’all got this joint on lock and tha singin’s at a peak here for tha G-Funk era! My Rating: 4.3
08. Commercial 2
Uh oh… What do you got hidin’ now, P, lol? >>> LOL @ tha kid sayin’, “dun,” like tha Mobb Deep language (instead of “gun”), lol. It’s a raw hood… My Rating: N/A
09. “99 Ways To Die”
Tha kid had an interestin’ outro previously wit “did you eva kill anybody?” Let’s see what it goes into… >>> No intro needed; you doin’ ya thang here, P! Definitely pretty gutta here wit your gangsta rhymes on tha 1st verse! Pretty raw in tha hood once again and tha hook has trueness in tha content; good shit, P! You know how ta make some catchy shit, no matta who it’s fo! Tha beat here iz nice and dark fa tha topic too so it sounds gr8 ta hear! Pretty gangsta here in tha 2nd verse; REAL hood shit at 1:32 wit tha shootings! Definitely inta tha hood shit goin’ on here in tha 3rd verse; you could put an image in your head by listenin’ ta this shit! My Rating: 4.4
10. Rev. Do Wrong Commercial
LOL, what could this be ‘bout? >>> Talkin’ in tha beginning mixed wit some “playa hataz” shit. Not sure what ta say ‘bout dis… Sounds like they’re singin’ your songs. My Rating: N/A
11. “Hoe Games” Feat. C-Murder, King George & Silkk The Shocker
Looks like this’ll be a GR8 collaboration!! Let’s see how raw it iz!! >>> Cool radio station intro and lol @ tha “Backstabbers” in tha background. You’re on tha 1st verse here wit this pretty cool beat (sounds a lil’ like undaground New York shit) and you flowin’ good here wit your rhymes. Tha hook iz true; good shit fa keepin’ it “T.R.U.” like tha group, lol! Tha 2nd verse sounds cool here; must be King George on his shit. Tha 3rd verse iz here and it’s “911” on tha delivery right chea; “raw games, raw games,” ya dig! Tha 4th verse’s now here quickly and it’s C doin’ his thang wit his raw, gangsta shit! It split up to a 2nd ½ of tha 4th verse here wit you, P, on tha verse! I guess letters only for tha 4th verse, lol. LOL, either way, good shit ‘cause you and C work REAL GR8!! My Rating: 4.6
12. “1-900-Master P”
Lemme call it… *Dials* Nah, I’m just fuckin’ wit cha, lol! Lemme hear it! >>> Cool beat start wit no intro needed once again! Good G-shit right chea, ya dig. You got tha 1st verse on lock, P; you CAN’T calm down wit dis shit!! Tha hook sounds pretty gangsta here; you can’t be fucked wit on this real shit! You got a lotta shit goin’ on wit tha 2nd verse here; a very active P, lol! Lots of shit went down in tha 2nd verse; consistency at its finest!! I hear a lil’ bit of talkin’ here at 3:05… Will it lead to a 3rd verse? Oh, it’s tha actual title IN ACTION, lol! They dialed “1-900-Master P” and look what they got: You tellin’ some interestin’ shit right chea, lol. Nice endin’ ta this CD wit tha “’bout ta smoke dis whole spliff;” good shit! My Rating: 4.4
Overall: Nice lil’ CD right chea, P; DEFINITELY doin’ tha damn thang like err-body else out chea in my marathon!! I wonder what tha next CD’ll sound like when I hear it…!
