Reviewed on 5.20.2010 (Review #461)
It’s FrankieThaLuckyDog here, still reviewin’ my ass off (as always)! Gotta keep grindin’, ya feel me! As promised, Part 2 of tha SK mix iz up next! I finna review DJ Woogie Presents SK “The Follow Up” right chea, ya dig! Shout out ta DJ Woogie fa shoutin’ me out on tha radio once again back on July 18, 2003 (tha link ta hear it iz here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xFZfyT8GZA )! Glad he recognized a REAL-ASS person like me!! Start Time: 7:57 PM | End Time: 8:57 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. DJ Woogie Intro
My big dawg Woogie on tha intro right chea!! DEFINITELY gon be some anticipatin’ shit, ya heard me! >>> Just a car? LOL, a car crash? I thought Woogie was gonna talk or somethin’… My Rating: N/A
02. “I Need A Dollar”
Let’s see what this joint iz, especially since tha length iz ova 5.5 minutes! >>> Sounds catchy; tha sample and beat gets a plus here. I’m definitely anticipatin’ some street shit right chea! LOL, a DJ Kayslay tag from Funkmaster Flex… and here Kayslay comes outta nowhere on tha drop; good shit!! Oh, so you’re a “dad,” huh? “8.28.07,” huh? That iz tha MOST LUCKIEST DAY, ya dig!! And I think you just said somethin’ ‘bout “lotto” at tha end of tha 1st verse too so it made even MORE SENSE!! Dat day, I found a $200 winning scratch-off ticket! It was at 12:35 PM; was dat when your daughter was born too, lol? Good shit and interestin’ verse on this track right here! This sample (or whateva it iz) iz continuin’ throughout past tha 2:30 mark… I thought it was just tha hook or somethin’… I like how you’re comin’ through on tha 2nd verse wit tha “I rather rap about tha presidents;” gotta get ya cake up, ya dig! Tha sample’s good but it sounds too long at times, makin’ me think tha hook iz hella long… When tha sample says, “Hey, hey!,” it sounds like Nate Dogg. My Rating: 4.3
03. “Run This Town (Freestyle)” Feat. Yung KL
Ooh, a feature! Let’s see what you got on this beat! >>> Sounds like you DEFINITELY “runnin’ this town” right chea wit your street/drug shit!! I like how you said, “Shiiiiid,” at :57; that’s how my boyz say it in Louisiana and it sounds cool. You REALLY holdin’ this shit down wit buku street rhymes to tha fullest!! Yung KL’s on tha 2nd part here and he sounds like Wayne… Kinda what I said on tha last review: That could be good (catchy wise) but could be not-so-good (creativity wise)… My Rating: 4.4
04. “Angels”
What’s this fa only 51 seconds? >>> Typical New York freestylin’ beat here… Pretty good, especially wit tha “haze/puff” shit! My Rating: 4.1
05. Noreaga Speaks
I heard about an encounter wit N.O.R.E. recently and I’m glad tha drop made it here!! Lemme hear what he has ta say… >>> Hot shit, ya dig!! GR8 exposure!! My Rating: N/A
06. “Potent” Feat. Tone Trump
Ooh, I heard Rab tell me about Tone Trump too! Let’s see what he’s all about on this original produced track from Mexicali Slim (tha text iz tiny on tha cover…)? >>> Tha beat has a Philly-type wit tha beat here. I hear Kayslay throughout tha mixtape here and there… He REALLY holdin’ it down! Unless dat’s Woogie? If so, they sound really similar… Nice job wit tha 1st verse, SK; you tear these rhymes up!! Tha 2nd verse from Tone Trump here and it sounds GR8! DEFINITELY addin’ this shit ta my iPod, ya feel me! Sounds like he ready fa war if anyone tries ta fuck wit him tha wrong way! I like how he shouted out “Woogie” towards tha end too; good shit! My Rating: 4.5
07. “Swimmin’ It It”
Looks like a money anthem… >>> LOL, it DEFINITELY iz!!! I’m likin’ tha beat here but only 40 seconds long? GR8 job wit tha hook and tha real quick verse at tha end too! My Rating: 4.6
08. “My Soul”
Kev West on this beat… It looks like a familiar title so we’ll see if it’s tha song I heard previously… >>> I don’t think it iz but it’s aight for a production; nothin’ that special… These songs are too short fa me ta really judge dat strong at times… Good flow; I like how you deliver your shit right chea! My Rating: 3.7
09. “Be Aight”
Looks good for tha title wit almost three minutes on tha length… >>> LOL, I thought dat was Fabolous in tha intro but it’s Red Café; good shit! This a jacked beat so let’s see what you do on it… “Tha 10th grade” emerged you inta “gettin’ addicted to tha dope game?” Sounds early… I was gettin’ my hustle game up wit collectin’ money on tha ground throughout my high school dayz, ya dig! You KNOW I come through doin’ me to tha fullest! Good job wit tha rhymes though on tha 1st verse; let’s see what you got fa tha 2nd verse… Ooh, you gave a shout out ta “Rab” on this shit; he bailed you outta “jail?” That’s what’s up but dat sux dat you went “ta jail.” Interestin’ 2nd verse; I learned some shit! My Rating: 4.2
10. “Can’t Stop Me Now (Freestyle)”
What do we got here for a freestyle? >>> LOL, it’s tha Tony Yayo drop again in tha beginning, lol! This time, it’s a Jadakiss beat… It was an aight beat but I think it would sound hot wit you freestylin’ on it! Good street shit here… It sounds like you’re tryin’ ta be yourself here wit tha shit you’re spittin’; good job! Of course, gotta end it wit “smokin’ blunts”! My Rating: 4.0
11. Uncle O Speaks (Philly Power 99 FM)
Ooh, a Power 99 reprsenta… June 11, 2005 was tha last time I heard Power 99 (when I took a trip ta Philly ta visit my stepdad’s—I forget who she was—‘s graduation) so let’s see what he has ta say… >>> Glad y’all really promotin’ this shit; *SPONSORED* on DatPiff!! Oh, Uncle O’s a rapper too? He must be gr8 on dat street shit; thumbs up on tha check in! My Rating: N/A
12. “Forever (Freestyle)” Feat. IKnowBrasco
LOL @ this featured dude’s name! Let’s see what you do ta this beat wit dat dude on tha feature, lol! >>> Cassidy on tha drop in tha beginning; thumbs up! DEFINITELY feelin’ tha street shit @ :50! “Coppin’ trees” to tha fullest; gettin’ all your games up wit whateva you do! I thought I was gonna hear tha Drake hook or somethin’, lol… Okay, tha IKnowBrasco dude on tha 2nd verse! Let’s see what he’s got… Ooh, some hot street shit comin’ out his voice! He keepin’ it gutta wit tha “burna” and shit like dat, ya dig! That’s raw: “You be shakin’ hands, niggaz lucky if I dap ‘em;” you got your own values wit people, lol!! DEFINITELY TIGHT on tha feature!! My Rating: 4.5
13. “305 (Maybach Music) (Freestyle)” Feat. UB a.k.a. Apex
I can’t quite make out if tha “Maybach Music” iz a part of tha title (‘cause it’s listed afta tha feature)? Lemme hear it and find out… >>> Just hearin’ how this sounds fa tha beginning, it sounds like New York shit to tha fullest! I feel like I’m in tha city or somethin’ so this has a GR8 Rap vibe! Tha UB dude’s on tha 2nd part here and he’s pretty good wit his “preachin’” and shit fa tha 2nd verse. I gon put tha “305 Maybach Music” shit in tha title. Tha outro sounds good too; looks like a connection to tha “305!” My Rating: 4.3
½time: This mixtape’s soundin’ hot! This iz off to a GR8 start right here; VERY consistent wit err-thang! Tha average CD rating currently iz a NICE 4.3; you doin’ ya thang!! Keep up tha gr8 work and tha HARD-ASS grindin’!!
14. “NY (Freestyle)”
Speakin’ of “New York,” here it iz in a title, lol! >>> Tha beat’s okay for a start but it sounds gr8 when you’re on it! Iz Hot 97 playin’ you? I haven’t gotten a chance to check their “Now Playing” history on their website recently… It sounds like they would be good at playin’ you in their late night mixes wit like DJ Kayslay, Envy and all them, ya dig! Catchy rhymes remindin’ me of a young bull on tha come up vs. Joey Jihad! My Rating: 3.9
15. “The Come Up”
You REALLY on “tha come UP,” ya feel me! >>> A familiar beat from not too long ago (I think) here and it sounds good wit you on it since it’s fast! Hustla-type lyrics right here that’s REAL consistent; good shit!! “I was 14 pushin’ pounds of dat endo;” real-type hustla shit!! My Rating: 4.4
16. “I Wanna Rock (Freestyle)”
LOL @ this beat choice and tha 49 seconds on tha length! >>> I can picture you in tha club or somethin’ up here… “One in a million: Like a fire in a blizzard;” I like dat line right there! Glad you put two different elements together!! My Rating: 4.2
17. “Leave It Alone”
I think that says Marcotiks on tha beat right here… Original production, but it’s only 62 seconds long. LOL? >>> Not really feelin’ tha start wit this weird-ass sample goin’ on here… I HATE when people throw wack-ass samples in tha beats and shit! It’s not dat bad throughout tha 1st verse though, ESPECIALLY wit SK and his “narcoticful” flow and rhymes here!! My Rating: 3.8
18. “Backwoods”
What’s this? >>> Ooh, a “Rab” shout out in tha beginning, lol! Iz this dat “Na Na Na-Na Na” beat from last year? I forget what this iz but it’s similar… Tha rhymes DEFINITELY sound good here and you doin’ ya thang on these beats to tha fullest!! GR8 endin’ too wit tha “fire” shit! My Rating: 4.0
19. “Super Bowl (Freestyle)”
Uh, no, tha freakin’ “Super Bowl” in a title, lol! Nah, I’m just bein’ myself; had ta have a moment since tha “Super Bowl” means 0% ta me! But yea, what beat’ll this be? >>> Ooh, soundin’ good wit a NY style here; you picked a GR8 beat! Because you said, “New York,” it reminded me of tha Tru Life song from a ½ decade ago, “The New New York.” SMH @ tha “S.O.D. Gang” lil’ thing that appeared in tha song too… But, what revived dat was tha REAL HOT ending: “Take a puff off life” when referrin’ to your “blunt!” My Rating: 4.2
20. “No Steps Backward”
That’s right! We gotta keep movin’! >>> LOL, I thought that was my boy Rab in tha beginning; iz it? He said “Tha Butcher” but at :10, it sounds like my boy Rab on tha way tha voice sounds… It’s catchy, regardless… Now, I think I heard right and he said, “Fly Tha Butcher?” Tha beat sounds good here and it sounds like a GR8 night of SK right chea!! LOL, anotha smoke-type ending too, lol! My Rating: 4.0
21. “Money Over Money (Freestyle)”
I thought it was gonna be “M.O.B.” but I’m glad it’s “M.O.M.” (lol) for you, ya dig! Only 34 seconds so let’s see what’s up, quickly… >>> Ooh, two different M’s “on your mind”: “money” and “marijuana;” you LUV your M’s, lol! Shit, dat was just like a speech or somethin’ in a REAL COOL way, lol!! My Rating: 4.5
22. “SK Club Mix”
What’ll this sound like? >>> Tha beat sounds cool and dat first second sounds like a lil’ Southern flava! “Tha radio sux! I can’t listen;” lol, I agree! LOL @ what you said about them just “playin’ Ne-Yo!” Ooh, I heard a “weed” part repeat; glad it was rewound back! I like how you spit hot shit on this track right chea, ya dig! I like how you said, “I’m done wit this verse; I have nothin’ left ta prove,” or whateva it was at tha end of tha verse! Oh, tha “smoke weed” part was tha hook? I thought it was tha verse for a second, lol. Nice job wit tha hook and tha catchiness here or whateva it iz…! My Rating: 4.3
23. “Zone Defense”
I like this title! How will you handle yourself on here? >>> Oh, I know this beat… You sound good wit this and tha title’s tight too! LOL @ tha “superglue” bars; REALLY “stickin’ in ERR-BODY’S head!!” What was it like “at 14 movin’ dirt?” My Rating: 4.3
24. “SK Thanks You All”
Looks like a shout out? >>> Sounds like it’ll be an outro song based off tha beat and shit… Catchiness wit tha “smokin’” shit once again! “Thanks” for this HOT-ASS mixtape (and tha otha one too)!! My Rating: 3.6
25. “Heart Of A Winner”
Almost to tha real end… Let’s see what you got here… >>> Sounds like tha beat fits wit you and it’s pretty good wit your rhymes. Good advice right here! Not much else ta say ‘bout this but thanx for tha advice! My Rating: 3.7
26. “The Root Of Evil”
I think it says Ryan Turner on tha production but tha only thing iz you forgot tha close parenthesis at tha end of who it’s produced by on tha back cover… Anyway, it’s a catchy title so you KNOW I’ll show it luv!! >>> Too bad it’s only 48 seconds… I dunno about tha production for a start; sounds kinda dry. When I see original production listed, I usually predict HOT street shit or HOT energetic-type shit. Tha rhymin’ was pretty good; I don’t have really anything ta say though… My Rating: 3.5
27. DJ Woogie Outro
I HOPE he talks this time… There’s 53 seconds…! >>> Oh, so it WAS DJ Woogie tha whole time! He sounds like DJ Kayslay so my bad for tha confusion and LOL @ tha laugh @ :31! Too bad I can’t add you on Facebook! I tried but it said you had too many friends! Why would Facebook max out on friends? How gay… Nice job hostin’ this shit, Woogie!! My Rating: N/A
Overall: Well, afta hearin’ your tight rhymes in tha 1st mixtape, I KNEW this one was gonna be betta and yes, it DEFINITELY was!! I suggest you make some street anthems dat are longer than three minutes. A lot of tha songs were only 45 – 90 seconds long. You prolly could’ve fit 50 jointz on here instead of 27, lol. But yea, for tha most part, I DEFINITELY feel what you’re spittin’ and I’m REAL GLAD ta be cool wit Rab and had a DJ Woogie moment in tha past! Shit, even my former psychologist hit me up one day like two years ago and was like, “You remember dat Woogie guy?” I was like, “Yea. I just made a DVD of myself and included DJ Woogie’s shout out moment in it.” I believe he was there dat Friday when Woogie shouted me out on tha radio (oh yea, he used ta come Fridays back in tha day…) and my mom’s most remembered song dat Woogie played: Lil’ Kim Feat. Lil’ Shanice “Shake Ya Bum Bum,” lol! Keep up tha GR8 work, guys!!
