Reviewed on 5.24.2010 (Review #466)
Keepin’ it goin’ here, as I recover from tha wack review I just did, here’s my next review for today: Lil’ Cali ”Enemy Of The State”! DEFINITELY lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this finally!! Start Time: 2:18 PM | End Time: 4:00 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Enemy Of The State”
Get ‘em, Cali!! >>> Sounds interestin’ wit tha news story samples in tha beginning about tha otha rappers. You sound good on tha 1st verse, spittin’ your shit to tha fullest. You got this Ponchatoula Rap shit on lock! I like how tha hook actually iz tha samples from tha news. Keepin’ tha king-type status goin’ wit tha 2nd verse; nice job wit tha rhymes! Good shit wit this song right chea! My Rating: 4.2
02. “Goin’ Dummy” Feat. Max Minelli
You KNOW it sounds good on this CD when you got dis shit right chea! Tha beat start sounds cool; you made tha intro sound catchy, Cali! Tha 1st verse also sounded pretty catchy from you on it, spittin’ some cool shit. Max sounded cool and catchy on tha hook; nice job gettin’ tha hook up from him!! Your 2nd verse iz soundin’ betta than tha 1st verse already; you got tha catchiness on lock!! You ended tha 2nd verse good wit tha “I’m a beast, go get tha leash” line! And as good as Max iz on tha hook, I thought he was gon have a verse. Nope, it’s you instead on tha 3rd verse… You’re still soundin’ catchy wit your lyrics! <- To add: I believe there’s a music video ta this out now… I’ve been so behind ta where I have ta peep it out! You KNOW I gon enjoy it! My Current Rating: 4.4
03. “Ric Flair (Remix)” Feat. Young Dro, Mouse & Lil’ Trill
Ooh, an addition to tha original wit Lil’ Trill now on it! I wonder how good he contributes ta this; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ him! >>> It has tha original start here. Here’s what I had said in tha past about this song. If there’s additions added, I’ll edit: Mouse beat here and it sounds pretty anticipatin’; he even “wahhhhh”in’ in tha beginning. He doin’ his thang on tha hook; one of tha BIGGEST/BEAT beasts on tha hooks!!! You’re on tha 1st verse here, Cali and I like how your voice iz slightly different from otha mixtapes. Plus, your music sounds pretty GOOD once again compared to all those odd female songs in tha past!! Nice job on tha 1st verse, Cali; tore it up!! Here comes Young Dro on tha 2nd verse here, soundin’ good on this too. He luvs his “ruby red polo,” lol! Catchy flow on his verse which makes it pretty consistent for this song. Let’s see what we got for tha 3rd verse… It a Mouse verse and he always sounds great on tha mic! LOL @ tha “well, FUCK IT!!” part at 3:23! Nice job on tha verse, Mouse. Okay, added at 3:37 iz Lil’ Trill on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse; interestin’ right chea. He contributed pretty good! I’m mainly glad they kept Mouse’s “well, FUCK IT!!” part!! Cali, you had tha best verse on this song once again. My rating’ll stay tha same; I don’t have any different pluses… My Rating: 4.4
04. “Extravagant (Remix)” Feat. J Buc & DJ B-Real
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, WHAT?!? What’s this doin’ here?!? Tha most random appearance of a song/features in a while!!! BTW, Quikk spells his name wit two K’s. How ironic dat DJ B-Real’s missin’ from dis. >>> LOL, you’re on tha 1st verse here, Cali, and it sounds pretty cool. Usually, it was Quikkdraw first but it’s you this time. Sorry, but I have ta consider this a remix (same wit “Ric Flair”). Pretty cool wit you on it and at first, it doesn’t sound like you fit on this song until I heard tha end and then, it went to tha hook! LOL, tha J Buc verse iz still 2nd here! He’s a lil’ too outta nowhere wit his rhymes in tha 1st ½ of his verse; sounds like he’s been around for a long time, yet, I only heard him since last year. LOL, let’s hear Quikkdraw on tha 1st ver—oh, tha 3rd verse… WHAT?!? NO!!! What’s this DJ B-Real outta nowhere on tha 3rd verse? Wrong ID… I don’t like dat I was confused. His “adult life” rappin’ iz good fa y’all 25+ but it’s aight fa me… I really like how Quikk did his thang on tha original so unfortunately, this has ta take a minus from its original 4.9 rating. Either way, this currently makes way for tha best song on here so far. My Rating: 4.5
05. “Money Right” Feat. Level & Tank Jones
LOL, Level? Looks like this CD’s becomin’ a gumbo pot fulla err-body!! Lookin’ interestin’ so let’s see what’s up! >>> Ooh, REAL GOOD beat start here; actually like it betta than “Extravagant” so far!! It’s actually Q-Red; nice appearance!! What’s up wit this unconfirmed hook? Level says his “money right?” Where’s my “money” from him ta promote him wit commercials and shit? Then again, I’m just invisible for now until Dre clears his situation up! As for tha song so far, you got shit goin’ on here in tha 1st verse, Cali! Tha 2nd verse iz here and I’m pickin’ my toes while it plays!! How do tha “hoes stay naggin’?” on Level? Does EVERY rapper have ta have gurls on them? Anyway, good verse but I rather just wait ‘til Dre steps in and clears up tha situation so I can talk more about it! Soundin’ good ta hear Tank Jones on tha comeback here on tha 3rd verse! If Level “bought” so many things in tha hook, can he buy me somethin’? You KNOW I would support tha next person; be different already wit supportin’ people!! My Rating: 4.8
06. “Heater On Me” Feat. Gar & Carter Boy
Really enjoyin’ all tha collaborations!! Gotta keep it Gremlins style right now and hear this one!! >>> LOL @ tha intro beat tag wit Lil’ Ganggsta and his “anotha Wodieson production!” This sounds a lil’ familiar but I think people use this title quite frequently. Catchy street hook right here and quality soundin’ from you on tha 1st verse here, spittin’ it for tha streetz! I dunno about hearin’ tha beat tag throughout tha song though; it good enough ta hear it tha 1st time. Tha 2nd verse sounds good wit Gar on it; catchy flowin’ right chea! Good shit right chea wit tha contribution for tha streetz! I’m sorry, but I have ta take off a lil’ bit of tha rating if I keep hearin’ dat beat tag throughout tha song; I gon start ta do dat from now on. Always anticipate a 3rd verse for some reason so thumbs up ta Carter Boy, doin’ his thang on it! My Rating: 4.3
07. “Hit That Bitch” Feat. Q-Red
*Sound effect* N’EWE!!!!! (sp?) Q-Red on tha feature!!!!! I bet he produced this too! I REALLY gon anticipate it like when I first heard tha Lil’ Issue song “Whop” wit Q-Red on it!!!!! >>> Yup, sounds like him on tha beat already and I hear him on tha beat tag! ROFL, he’s on tha hook here and I’m DEFINTIELY feelin’ this shit right chea!! Gotta get this on tha radio tha next time I’m on tha air!! Ooh, Q-Red’s even rappin’ here on tha 1st verse, doin’ tha damn thang to tha fullest!!! REALLY feelin’ this; this iz REAL cool in a way wit all tha “town” rhymes inside tha car!! Let’s see what you got on tha 2nd verse, Cali! Sounds like you REALLY in luv wit your car and “shinin’” status right chea! My Rating: 4.9
08. “How I’m Coming”
Just you on tha song this time? Let’s see how you do! >>> Sounds like I can identify tha beat producer in tha beginning but I don’t hear any tags yet… Oh, you said, “B-Real,” so it must be him on tha beat! Good shit… Sounds like you holdin’ yourself down on tha hook right chea; str8 “dumb” when it comes ta “how you comin’!” You sound good on tha 1st verse as you spittin’ some good shit when it comes ta “how you comin’” once again, ya dig! Really enjoyin’ tha 2nd verse right chea wit “how you comin’” wit “tha bricks” and all dat shit in tha trap, ya feel me! Keepin’ it gangsta to tha fullest on tha 2nd verse too!! My Rating: 4.6
09. “Wanna Fuck U” Feat. Max Minelli
LOL, I think I gon REALLY like dis one!!! This iz an interestin’ title and collaboration mixed together!! >>> I think that’s Rodney (“Rodney P?”) on tha beat; sounds good for a start here as you’re hypnotized in tha beginning! REAL NICE soundin’ in tha beat @ :22 - :32!! I’m likin’ this long intro transitioned into tha hook! You got tha “fuckin’” shit on lock wit tha 1st verse here; good job. Tha hook sounds nice too when it comes ta attractin’ listeners and people to tha fullest! LOL @ Max “fuckin’ in tha mirror” and shit like dat ta start tha 2nd verse off! Ooh, “titties bouncin’ like balloons!” REAL nice right there!! He definitely did his thang right here and now, you’re on tha 3rd verse here! You kept tha healin’ rhymes for tha hoes on point right chea! I also like how tha hook ended wit a lil’ acapella! My Rating: 4.3
½time: Damn, Cali, you DEFINITELY steppin’ it up EVERYTIME I hear a new CD of yours!!! DEFINITELY definin’ tha “enemy of tha state” right here to tha fullest!!! Keep up tha GR8 work wit all these GR8 features as well as REALLY GR8 producers!!! Tha average CD rating currently iz at a NICE 4.5!!!
10. “Break It Off” Feat. Skip & Choppa
Just when I thought tha collaborations were gettin’ more anticipatin’, well, THEY ARE!!! Mixin’ an N.O. style right chea, let’s see what’s good!!! >>> I thought tha beat start was gonna be like Q-Red tha 1st time I heard tha 1st second but it sounds a lil’ more like J Buc and his “Extravagant” shit… Actually, it iz (I guessed correct)! Ooh, tha beat’s REALLY on point right chea!!! I like all this questionin’ in tha hook; REAL, REAL TIGHT!!! Tha 1st verse sounds good from you; you REALLY have this shit on point when it comes ta representin’ fa tha hood as well as fa yourself!! Let’s see what tha 2nd verse has ta offer… Ooh, some good-ass street shit from Skip right chea!! I DEFINITELY can sense this bein’ tha best verse on this song, ya dig! Gotta luv how he came through wit his attitude and shit like dat! Let’s see this 3rd verse from Choppa… Shit yea, gotta feel how he comes through fa tha ’10! LOL @ tha “this tha real Choppa, not Da Band dude;” agreed! He DEFINITELY still sounds gr8 when it comes ta this Louisiana Rap shit, ESPECIALLY on a J Buc beat!! I like how he “wahhhh”’d towards tha end of tha verse too!! My Rating: 4.7
11. “I Ain’t Mean To” Feat. Spitta
I don’t think I know who Spitta iz unless it’s a Curren$y alias (but I doubt it as far as a feature)… Let’s see what’s good wit dis collab! >>> Sounds like a J Buc sound effect in tha beginning and tha beginning of tha beat sounds pretty touchy at first… Glad it’s him on tha beat once again and these beats continue ta be REAL, REAL HOT!!! I thought tha title was spelled wrong but it’s 100% correct! DEFINITELY feelin’ all this “I ain’t mean ta do it” shit in tha hook as well as this beat REALLY holdin’ it down!!! You’re on tha 1st verse and you got shit on lock once again! No matta if you “ain’t mean ta do,” you STILL “doin’” tha damn thang wit dis music shit!! Ooh, tha Spitta dude’s on tha 2nd verse here and he sounds REAL, REAL GR8 wit this rappin’!!! He sounds a lil’ familiar but I wouldn’t be able ta guess where…; maybe he’s in my blog tagged somewhere? His “scars on his neck” shit in tha 2nd verse sounds like he from tha N.O. or somethin’ by tha way he rapped! DEFINITELY some HOT shit right chea; keep it goin’!!! My Rating: 4.9
12. “I Wonder”
Didn’t I hear this before? I know Phat had a title like this… >>> I thought it was gonna be depressin’ but I think it’s pathetic for a start wit this gay A-Tune shit goin’ on. Who tha fuck still uses tha A-Tune shit? It’s ’10 now; dat was SO ’07!!! Sorry, but if anyone uses A-Tune in their songs, I will NEVA take ANY of their lyrics serious at ALL!!! Tha beat’s pretty cool here and tha flow iz catchy too. But, I think tha A-Tune forces people to “sing” their rhymes at times… This iz listenable but this breaks tha chain of tha 4.0+ ratings, unfortunately. My Rating: 3.7
13. “H.N.I.C.” Feat. Max Minelli & Mouse
“Just Because”-type status right chea wit Mouse AND Max on dis bitch!! I feel like dis gon be REAL tight too!! >>> Definitely sounds like Mouse on this beat right chea and it sounds GOOOOOOD!! Ooh, Mouse on tha hook here and all these acronyms are DEFINITELY comin’ inta play from “H.N.I.C.”s ta “P.I.M.P.”s!! You’re on tha 1st verse here and I’m feelin’ how you comin’ through on this shit! It sounds like your life iz fulla fun shit to tha fullest! Well, I guess Mouse doesn’t have a verse ‘cause you’re on tha 2nd verse again, Cali! You flowin’ good wit these rhymes on this beat continuously!! Glad you “got work” as well as “B-Real on tha beat!” Keepin’ it goin’, Max’s on tha 3rd verse and from tha last song he was on (about tha “fuckin’”), he’s transitionin’ pretty good right chea! His verse was pretty short but he kept tha flava fa this joint, especially since he iz an “H.N.I.C.” ta begin wit! My Rating: 4.4
14. “Like Magic” Feat. Skip & Carter Boy
Ooh, Carter Boy hopped on wit Skip on this joint right chea!! This should be ANOTHA HOT one!!! >>> LOL, must be J Buc again on tha beat!! Did y’all just meet and really like each otha when it would come ta this music shit? LOL, tha hook sounds cool here, magician style! Nice job wit this “magical” hook, lol! You’re on tha 1st verse here, Cali, and you got these rhymes on lock! What’s up wit tha “bang!” that randomly appears in tha beat? I’ve heard it on other peoples’ productions on here; do y’all share certain samples? Anyway, tha rhymes seem pretty HOT wit tha “brick”-type raps @ 1:33!! Nice job wit this HOT shit, Cali!! Tha 2nd verse iz from Skip and it sounds like he’s NICE and FOCUSED once again wit this shit right chea!!! Just like Mystikal, he was just an anybody back in tha day fa me but he just SO GR8 now dat I focus more on Louisiana and dis undaground Rap shit!!! DEFINITELY tight wit tha rhymes and all tha street shit to tha fullest!! Gotta give him props and once again, he prolly has tha best song on this CD, ya dig! LOL, I had a feelin’ Carter Boy was on tha hook tha whole time… There was no 3rd verse so thumbs up ta him holdin’ tha hook down! Sounds like he also gave it a nice lil’ mainstream twist too on tha hook, which makes me have a prediction dat he’ll do a lil’ bigger wit collabs soon! My Rating: 4.5
15. “John Brown” Feat. Mouse, Tank Jones & Doe-Doe
Oh, look at dis lineup!! Pretty cool wit tha collaboration and wit “Do-Do” (spelled like dat on tha back cover)’s name, it’s really wit E’s at tha end. Still waitin’ ta get A-One & Doe-Doe’s “Final Destination Vol. 1” CD in tha mail one of these dayz…; but, enough about dat! Until I get it, lemme check out dis joint right chea!! >>> Gotta give props ta tha length bein’ almost five minutes long too!! B-Real’s on tha beat right chea (thanx ta tha intro) and this sounds like it gon be crazy!! Mouse’s on tha hook here and he sounds good on this shit! Him and his “goin’ ham” shit, lol. Originally a “Ric Flair” flarer, lol, now, he’s a “John Brown,” lol. Cali, you’re on tha 1st verse here and thumbs up ta shoutin’ out err-body on this song! This shit DEFINITELY “gon be a fight song!” LOL, I thought Mouse was comin’ up on tha 2nd verse for some odd reason but it’s Tank Jones, doin’ his thang right chea! He has a pretty energetic voice/flow right chea, as he’s doin’ tha damn thang fa y’all! I’m a lil’ excited ta hear this 3rd verse here… Oh shit, Doe-Doe!! You KNOW I have ta crack interest and excitement right chea!! I said a prayer a few nights ago dat Doe-Doe and I will do it REAL, REAL BIG in tha music business real soon!! I KNOW it gon come true and I even texted it to him ‘cause I KNOW he gon consider me one of tha best on his team!!! LOL @ his “masturbatin’” line; REAL, REAL TIGHT shit right chea as well as tha “kush” shit!! How funny was this: When I got a Don Dre CD from Easy Hustle Entertainment last month, I went to burn it to my laptop tha otha day and when I was enterin’ tha “Do,” Doe-Doe Feat. DJ B-Real came up and I was shocked! I was like, “LOL, I have a song of his? Where?” I looked and didn’t even realize I reviewed one on “Pyrex Radio Vol. 6: Arm & Hammer”! It was dat “Everywhere I Go” joint from only last year. Originally, I rated dat one a 3.8 but it sounded REAL, REAL HOT and smooth when I played it tha otha day!!! Nice job, Doe-Doe, once again fa contributin’ ta this CD and fa you, Cali! My Rating: 4.5
16. “Hustlin’ Is A Habit” Feat. Asiah
Still feelin’ these features, ya dig!! Don’t know tha dude on tha feature but wit a title like dis, dis shit gon DEFINITELY be HOT!! >>> Tha beat sounds Southern here for a start; interestin’ shit. Iz dis J Buc again? I think I can sense tha sounds once again but I dunno… I didn’t hear a tag… Oh, it’s a gurl on tha feature? She sounds really Pop on tha vocals but tha lyrics are on tha street side; interestin’ mix! You’re on tha 1st verse here and you have dat street shit on lock wit all these “bricks,” lol! Tha 2nd verse iz here and for those dat don’t know ‘bout grindin’, this verse has dat shit! Nice job wit this shit right chea, Cali. My Rating: 4.0
17. “I Miss U” Feat. Shakeback
Oh no, don’t tell me it’s a sad ending… There’s still anotha song ta go… At least be a J Buc beat or somethin’… >>> Kinda sad on tha beat but tha beat sounds like Bow Wow & Omarion’s “Let Me Hold You” from 2005… Not too crazy about this soundin’ or resurrection of dat sound… Did you lose a family member or somethin’ ‘cause you were talkin’ ‘bout tha “cookin’” in tha 1st verse, Cali? Okay 1st verse wit you contributin’ some good lyrics… Tha 2nd verse has some sad lyrics… I can’t relate to ‘em (or comment ‘em). So, you did lose a family memba (and for some reason, I did think it was your “grandma”)… I’m slowly startin’ ta feel tha beats a lil’ in this… My Rating: 3.3
18. “I Just Pray” Feat. Savage
Oh, a double sad ending? Hope this iz a lil’ betta fa me… >>> Really feelin’ tha beat so it ain’t too sad fa me; thanx ta tha one on tha beat!! You got tha rhymes on lock here for tha 1st verse and I have a feelin’ Savage gon sing on tha hook; we’ll see if I’m right. Tha lyrics go wit tha last song, since I can’t really relate ta ‘em. I guess I was right about tha hook… Kinda sounds spooky sometimes when I hear tha unexpected singin’ but it still sounds good. Sounds like an agreement @ 2:11 wit “friends are hoes.” Most definitely agreed. Really, what are “friends?” Ugh, what’s up wit dat random speech @ 2:53? Shouldn’t be in a song in my opinion…; save it for church. My Rating: 3.6
Overall: I thought this was DEFINITELY your BEST CD yet!!! I REALLY like tha “Just Because” one though (I think that was statistically betta) but as far as a CD released by just you, this DEFINITELY has a SHIT-LOAD O’ STRENGTH!!! REAL NICE job wit tha SUPA DUPA HOT production and all these REALLY, REALLY GR8 features!!!
