Reviewed on 5.07.2010 (Review #452)
Wakin’ up AGAIN for more of my reviewz and tha Louisiana Reviewz Marathon!! This next CD review iz for TRU “True”; let’s see how GR8 they handle dis one!! Start Time: 9:24 AM | End Time: 10:49 AM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Intro Feat. Master P
Let’s see how dis thang’ll start off!! >>> “Devil dancin’” for a start right chea, lol!! Tha beat sounds cool… My Rating: N/A
02. “Last Dance” Feat. C-Murder, Master P & Mia X
What’ll this be like to start thangz off? >>> Not bad for a start; pretty good rhymes for tha 1st verse. Tha rhymes almost sound a lil’ on tha current tip (e.g., “I’m not Tupac, but…”). Tha 2nd verse sounds good wit P & X on it; it’s all about tha letters again, lol! Tha hook sounds like it just passes by and I don’t catch it… Anyway, this shit sounds like it’s a lil’ betta now dat I’m hearin’ tha 3rd verse; just likin’ tha vibe. My Rating: 3.9
03. “That’s How We Break Bread” Feat. Master P & C-Bo
This looks like it gon be interestin; lookin’ forward ta this shit!! >>> Sounds like a nursey rhyme in tha beginning but at least P mixes it wit tha drug world, ya dig! Tha 1st verse sounds RAW when it comes ta dat drug-type shit!!! DEFINITELY a NICE voice fa handlin’ this shit!! Tha hook sounds good and it’s definitely true to “break bread,” ya dig! Tha 2nd verse has MORE hot shit comin’ outta tha track!! DEFINITELY CAN’T have “your cake interrupted,” lol! My Rating: 4.5
04. “Mobbin’ Through My Hood” Feat. King George, Silkk, Big Ed, C-Murder & Master P
Let’s see what’s good wit it ‘cause it looks like a GR8 one!! >>> It sounds pretty GR8 wit tha beat; VERY West Coasty, lol!! Tha hook definitely sounds good and shows what tha title iz about, ya dig! Tha 1st verse sounds good; nice job deliverin’ dis shit right chea! Sounds like tha 2nd hook was different from tha 1st one? Anyway, tha 2nd verse still keepin’ it good on this shit. Nice “hood” anthem right chea, ya dig! Tha 3rd verse has a good vibe when it comes ta tha shit bein’ spit here, ya dig. Master P’s holdin’ down tha 4th verse right chea, doin’ his thang wit these gangsta rhymes. My Rating: 4.0
05. “Living That Life” Feat. Master P, Carmen Traylor & Silkk
Looks like y’all come through wit some real shit on dis one; let’s see… >>> Tha Carmen gurl sounds hot in tha beginning. Interestin’ lyrics in tha 1st verse right chea. “If I live ta see 21, then, I lived a long life;” I’m almost 22 so I guess I’m doin’ good, lol? Cool hook, especially wit tha Carmen gurl! Tha 2nd verse sounds good on this shit; nice job wit all tha contributions. LOL @ tha 3rd verse and what happened to all tha “stars;” “Michael Jackson goin’ on trial.” My Rating: 3.8
06. “Another Day, Another Dollar” Feat. Silkk & Master P
Let’s see how y’all come through fa this shit; looks like it’ll be like tha last song. >>> Tha beat’s pretty much on tha same level, only a lil’ betta. Tha 1st verse sounds like it’s soundin’ a lil’ betta; likin’ tha rhymin’! Tha hook sounds like it’s on a West Coast vibe right chea and sounds pretty good. Tha 2nd verse has tha rhymes on lock too! ROFL/shit yea @ 1:30 – 1:31; SHIT-LOAD O’ SHIT was spit!!! Tha 3rd verse sounds like it’s on a consistent level right chea. My Rating: 4.1
07. “Watch Your Ass” Feat. Master P, Sonya C & Big Ed
LOL, a bonus this early? >>> Thought it was a skit based off its length but it sounds like P has some shit ta say, rappin’ style. Sounds pretty good but where are tha otha features? My Rating: 4.2
08. “Walk Like A Killer” Feat. Master P, King George & Silkk
Gutta title so let’s see what’s up wit it! >>> LOL, sounds like y’all fulla dat good shit in tha beginning…; REALLY loaded, lol!! P, you’re on tha 1st verse, deliverin’ some GR8 “treeful” rhymes, lol! Definitely enjoyin’ tha rhymes and content right chea! Tha hook sounds good; DEFINITELY feelin’ how y’all come through deliverin’ it!! It went from a kushful 1st verse to a gangsta-type hook! Tha 2nd verse has some GR8 rapid rappin’ goin’ on! Tha 2nd verse also has some gangsta shit goin’ on; keep this shit up! Tha 3rd verse has a gr8 attitude when it comes ta tha deliver! Who AIN’T “down wit No Limit?” Y’all doin’ ya thang!! Good shout outs at tha end too, ya dig. My Rating: 4.3
09. Commercial Feat. Master P, C-Murder & Mo B Dick
Let’s see what this lil’ interlude iz about… >>> Sounds cool and then y’all kinda gettin’ wrapped around in a situation at tha end, lol. My Rating: N/A
10. “Anything Goes” Feat. Master P, King George, Big Ed & Silkk
Let’s see this good collaboration right chea!! >>> Sounds West Coast for a beginnin’ and sounds good fa tha hook right chea although a lil’ “eenie meeny”ish… Tha 1st verse has good shit wit tha rhymes and shit, ya dig! Tha 2nd verse flows through nicely on this beat right chea; good combo! Tha start to tha 3rd verse sounds good wit this shit; nice job wit how tha verse iz delivered! Damn, a bunch o’ verses fittin’ in this lil’ 3:21 joint! Tha 4th verse has some good West Coast flava in tha way tha verse iz delivered so thumbs up, ya dig! ROFL @ “grabbin’ on my nuts like my name was Michael Jackson;” such a “Jackson’d out” CD right chea, ROFL!! LOL, it DEFINITELY ain’t ova yet; there’s a 5th verse!! Nice job contributin’ more hot shit right chea, ya dig! Good job, Silkk!! My Rating: 4.4
½time: Soundin’ pretty good fa a CD! Y’all all connect gr8 and do tha damn thang to tha fullest! Keep tha collaborations up!! Tha average CD rating iz 4.2 right now.
11. “I’m ‘Bout It, ‘Bout It” Feat. Master P & Mia X
LOL, I ran inta this song, lol? >>> Sounds a lil’ older in tha beginning right chea. I know this song was sampled/beat used plenty of times so let’s see what’s up wit dis original version. Sounds catchy for tha 1st verse right chea on this beat! Good job wit tha hood lyrics to tha fullest! Tha hook sounds older than tha one I might’ve heard… So, this won’t be a “current rating;” it’ll just be a rating on a 1st listen. I like how this extended hook iz showin’ luv ta err-body, lol. Mia X’s ready fa tha 2nd verse right chea! “Comin’ through like a tornado.” I saw this song on Music Choice Throwback Jamz a shit-load o’ times one week, randomly, and I lol’d! Now, tha shout outs are dedicated to tha states and hoods, lol. My Rating: 4.3
12. “Fuck Them Hoes” Feat. Master P, Silkk & Mia X
Let’s see this kinda song right chea… >>> It’s for all “them hoes” and tha beat iz slow, lol? I would’ve expected like a Bounce beat or somethin’… Sounded like a long intro at first but it was tha 1st verse tha whole time, lol. P…, lol. This iz startin’ ta get borin’… I guess this iz dedicated to “them hoes” dat be not doin’ tha right thang… It took about ½ tha song ta get ta tha hook, lol. Silkk comin’ through on tha 2nd verse wit a lil’ bit of a nursery rhyme at tha start of tha verse but now, I hear a lotta “be serious, hoe”-type shit goin’ on, lol. Let’s see what Mia has fa tha final verse… LOL @ “cum catchers;” ROFL!! Good lyrics for tha hood on her verse. My Rating: 3.4
13. “Ain’t No Glock” Feat. Master P & C-Murder
Let’s see some gangsta shit right chea!! >>> Okay start; instantly started, lol. Tha 1st verse came through pretty nice; not much intensity goin’ on wit tha attitude or anything so it’s a lil’ calm for a title/topic like dis. Tha hook sounds pretty good for a 1st time hearin’. Tha 2nd verse sounds like there’s good rhymes once again but a lil’ dry… My Rating: 3.6
14. Rev. Do Wrong Feat. King George
LOL, anotha bonus? We’re not at #20 yet, lol. >>> Anotha Rev. Do Wrong skit right chea. Interestin’ shit fa tha hood; iz Rev. Do Wrong like 50 or somethin’? My Rating: N/A
15. “TRU Playaz” Feat. Master P, Silkk, King George, Mr. Serv-On & Big Ed
Big line-up right chea; let’s see watz good wit it! >>> Sounds like a good West Coast feelin’ for tha beginning right chea. Tha 1st verse sounds like it’s holdin’ it down good wit dis “TRU” shit right chea, ya dig. Tha hook sounds catchy this time; like how it defines tha title. Tha 2nd verse has a lotta “LUV”-type shit in what you should “LUV,” lol! Nice job wit tha rest of it, holdin’ it down! Tha 3rd verse from King George sounds like he’s holdin’ dis shit down as a big dude (based off his voice); good shit. LOL @ Mr. Serv-On, doin’ his thang wit tha introduction of who he iz on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse! I DEFINITELY liked how he spelled his name!! Tha last verse right chea iz from Big Ed, spittin’ some hood shit right chea! Nice job ta end tha song off! My Rating: 4.4
16. “Would You Take A Bullet For Your Homie” Feat. Big Ed, Silkk & Uhuru Wright
Looks like it gon be pretty lyrical vs. gangsta vs. hood wit tha title! >>> Yea, this iz a lil’ slower for a start but has dat good G-Funk style in tha beat. Tha 1st verse sounds like it’s good. Nice job deliverin’ tha shit in tha 1st verse and now, I hear some more shit in tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, spittin’ dat hood shit! Tha hook sounds good; I like how tha female backs tha hook up in tha background and tha title iz in tha hook! Tha 2nd verse right chea has some pretty lyrical shit from Ed; rough shit right chea. Tha 3rd verse has some hood advice goin’ on here and some after-life-type shit too… Keepin’ tha real shit throughout tha 4th verse too; y’all on point wit dis shit right chea! Tha outro sounds like it’s DEFINITELY real wit how thingz “ain’t tha same no mo.” My Rating: 4.0
17. “3 Strikes” Feat. Master P, King George & Tobin Costen
Let’s hear these “strikes,” ya dig! >>> Tha beat’s pretty cool here and I like tha start to tha 1st verse: “Time movin’ slow… just like a snail,” lol! Tha voice holds it down here as tha lyrics are delivered good! I hear tha hook and it’s bad anticipation of goin’ ta jail I see… Hope tha jail thing didn’t happen too often! Now, tha 2nd verse iz here and tha hood shit still comin’ through strong! LOL, what a short-ass verse? You guys have gr8 females backin’ up tha vocals, ya dig! There’s even a long outro fa this shit right chea. Master P sounds like he real strong wit his brain right chea when it comes ta decisions, lol. My Rating: 4.2
18. “Keep It Jumping” Feat. Big Ed & Master P
Let’s see what’s good wit dis joint too; how will it sound? >>> A lil’ smooth on tha beat here and tha hook sounds good/relaxin’. Interestin’ rhymes comin’ outta this relaxed flow on tha 1st verse right chea; nice job, Big Ed. Now, I hear a different hook (unless it’s tha real one and tha beginning was just an intro?) and it sounds like P did a nice job makin’ it catchy once again. Tha 2nd verse from Ed sounds good… LOL @ tha “jackpot/casino/make you nut twice” part; how random dat mix iz!! More verses from Ed as he’s on tha 3rd verse here, wit a lil’ bit of a gangsta twist to tha song! I dunno about singin’ tha Biggie song towards tha end though… My Rating: 3.9
19. “Keep It All Good” Feat. Uhuru Wright, Master P & Silkk
Almost six minutes on tha length so I’m expectin’ it ta be… I dunno but prolly long… >>> Sounds slower in tha beat here… This iz gonna be real borin’; I know it… Tha vocals sound pretty dry here on tha deliveries… LOL @ tha gurl goin’, “Hello?,” when she picked up tha phone at 1:46! I believe it’s tha 3rd verse (been losin’ track due ta bein’ bored) has a lil’ bit of a betta sense of flowin’ on this shit so a lil’ bit of a plus from me. Either way, this was WAY too long and WAY too dry! My Rating: 2.3
20. Shouts Out Feat. Master P, Silkk, King George, Big Ed & C-Murder
Oh no, anotha long-ass track (almost five minutes)? It’s just shout outs so let’s see what’s up… >>> Sounds GR8 wit P in tha beginning, fulla dat shit! Tha beat iz REAL NICE and funky here although it sounds a lil’ long… At least there’s a multiple amount of y’all shoutin’ out! My Rating: N/A
Overall: Good CD right chea. Not much jumped out on me but there’s good tracks ta listen to. I look forward ta seein’ what tha rest of tha TRU CDs sound like later on.
