Review #1,774: Johnny Hu$tle "Forged In Fire"
Reviewed on 5.30.2018 (Review #1,774)
Wow,
this seems exciting… Not that I have much time for it, these dayz, but it’s a
review! Got my boy, Johnny Hu$tle,
wit his “Forged In Fire” CD, courtesy of FreeUrself Entertainment (or,
betta yet, Dirty Management & Cash’n Out Entertainment)! Haven’t reviewed
in a minute, as I been busy wit work/payin’ off da car, as well as tryna get my
video shit done… Gotta love Hu$tle! Aye, I’m fulla dem edibles, as we speak, ya
heard me? Hu$tle & I known each otha fa a minute (I first heard him on
November 8, 2008 on Down
Bad’s The Sickest 2K8); good
peoples! Can’t wait ta kick it witchu in BR, one of these dayz! It’s comin’! Start Time: 2:41 PM | End Time: 4:36 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything
after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening
to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your
vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’
topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

“Stompin’ (Remix)” feat. Eat ‘Em
I
believe I know Eat ‘Em from me bein’ at tha Charcoal Lounge, last year, on June
22, 2017 w/D-Soulja! >>> Dosha on tha beatz, here… Definitely sounds
nice, here… Good shit wit how you “stompin’” your way through tha 1st
verse! You always got some catchy music comin’ through! I like how Eat ‘Em
randomly sneaks in durin’ tha hook… And, hearin’ Eat ‘Em on tha 2nd
verse… Definitely gotta respect how he comin’ through wit his presence… His
fast part? I’ono, but at least it was only an 1/8, like bud, lol! My Rating: 4.8
02.
“Born 2 Roll” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
Makin’
an extra appearance on this track, I see? >>> Glad he still “Chicken
& Watermelon!” Nice lil’ good-soundin’ intro like it was a decade ago!!
Consistent rhymes ova this ‘90s-remade track, here… Glad you always “born 2 roll!” Just heard from ya
on Instagram and I’m glad you got love fa ya boy!! Just as you thought tha 1st
verse was pretty dope, here comes tha 2nd verse, consistently
deliverin’ it!! My Current Rating: 4.7
03.
“A Brick”
Only
2:09 but Hu$tle gon bring dat bricktastic
street, jammin’, etc.-kinda vibe to da earz?! >>> Dosha Burna Beatz!
Sounds like an icky, swampy-type vibe fa dis edibles trip!! 3:07!! She strikes
again!! Definitely feelin’ what you & Dosha bringin’ to tha consistent
table, here! Y’all definitely talented, to tha fullest!! “Dick like a half a
brick,” like tha title! I’m not even lookin’ at what I’m typin’, here, and it
seems perfect, with agility!! Nice job wit tha hook, right there! Y’all got
this swampy vibe on lock!! “Like a sweat catch a nut;” Hu$tle in tha
muthafuckin’ buildin’!! He definitely
got tha “A” game on lock, like tha “USA,” like my shirt!! My Rating: 4.8
04.
“HGSS”
Let’s
see what—oh, “Hu$tle Gang”-somethin’, lol? Random thought while on dat good!
>>> Definitely feelin’ tha lil’ shmokin’ beginning, as well as this
grimy shit you gon bring to da table? Definitely feelin’ tha production… Kinda
reminds me of somethin’ in tha mainstream, but wit a cool, undaground-kinda
sound… You got tha consistent rhymes goin’ on throughout tha 1st
verse… “Hu$tle, Grind, Stack, Splurge!”
That’s what you got goin’ on, durin’ tha hook! Definitely catchy and
infectious, here! You “came up out a
diamond mine” on tha 2nd verse, here! Definitely dope! Gotta go ape
shit and feel like a celeb when tha clock hits “10:01!” Gotta love your
birthday time/your birthday; king shit!! My
Rating: 4.6
05.
“Can’t See Dat” feat. Doshaburna
Exactly
how I feel on how I “can’t see” all tha jealous/envious ones! I be shinin’
hard, these dayz, and am only growin’!! >>> Kinda sounds like a lil’
mainstream vibe, here… However, I ain’t got nothin’ ta say about it… I’m
feelin’ what you bringin’ to tha table, here! Definitely feelin’ what you
bringin’ to tha table, as well as collabin’ wit Dosha Burna, again! Tha hook
sounds simple and straight; that’s about it… Oh, even a hidden feature on tha 2nd
verse from Dosha! Glad he still “a weed head;” it’s only bigger from this point
on!! Dosha, a.k.a. Piz Corleone… My
Rating: 4.3
06.
“Bad Yeah” feat. Doonie with DJ Ya Boy Earl
Shit
“yeah!!” I remember reviewin’ this live, last year on May 6, in my car, down
tha trippy South Canaan, PA & it’s
definitely poppin’!! Crazy: Added it at 3:07 PM on that day and now, it’s 3:26
PM; birthdayz always collide!! But “yeah,” there’s a live review video of that,
too, on YouTube; great shit! Definitely one of tha most-anticipatin’ tracks I
reviewed!! Definitely love how it remakes “Back That Azz Up” and you deliver
tha catchiness, wit Doonie sneakin’ in on tha 2nd verse! Definitely
nice and yeah, I said more in tha live review in tha car… #16 on my Top 568
Songs of 2017 & iz gonna be featured in one of my video countdowns, comin’
in tha future (FTLD’z Top 100 Songs While
@ His 1st Job)! Stay tuned fa dat, as I’m filmin’ that next
month! Gonna be one of tha most-anticipated countdowns of mine ta date!! My Current Rating: 5.0
07.
“Triumph” feat. Justin Plummer
Let’s
see how you handlin’ these wins, my boy!! >>> Kinda sounds like it’d
be a lil’ catchy fa a lil’ faster track… It sounds like you almost readin’ tha
rhymes in tha beginning… You got a feature not even 30 seconds in; good shit…
Can’t thank of who it iz but they should be listed! Eat ‘Em got his cake;
others deserve to eat it, too, lol…
We even got more mysterious-type features on tha 2nd verse, here…
Definitely sounds like a consistent vibe; definitely nice! Now, you comin’
through on tha 3rd verse; definitely nice… My Rating: 4.2
08.
“Pop Like Dis”
Gotta
love how you got a lotta tracks between 2:00 – 2:59; quick and poppin’, ya dig? Can’t wait ta hear
“dis” one!! >>> And, as we continuin’ from remakin’ some older tunes,
here comes “My Neck, My Back” in tha beginning… And, here comes you on tha 1st
verse, as tha beat turns into a crunk-soundin’ sound from tha undaground that I
would produce? Luv how you got “dis” ass-catchin’ vibe, here! Hearin’ tha 2nd
verse and it sounds like you got a decade-advanced version of Y.B. For
Initials, here, hence that you’re a decade older than him… Definitely feelin’
what you attractin’ to tha table, here! My
Rating: 4.5
½time: A 4.6-rated CD; definitely refreshin’
from all bullshit goin’ on, these dayz!! Luv all tha bangaz you bringin’ to tha
table, in your undaground, club, street, catchy, cool perspective, here!!
09.
“Freestyle” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
No
title, lol? Just an Earl skit? “Les’see” (my 2018 version of “leggo” called
“les’see!!” See, you REALLY can
create magic while high!!)!! >>> A lil’ intro from Earl, here, wit you
comin’ through wit a freestyle, here; definitely nice! Know I heard it from
somewhere, once before, but can’t remember? Definitely a consistent freestyle
tha whole way round! Like how it’s right in tha middle of tha CD; good
placement! Like how you sound in tha background, includin’ how you sayin’,
“Long live Loc,” at 2:20; good shit… My
Rating: 4.1
10.
“Hu$tle Humble”
Tha
“H”z strike again! Should be a “humble” way of greatness, here! >>>
Sounds like a random freestyle, once again… Tha hook sounds catchy, as if it
was a mainstream track in tha mainstream… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too
bad, here; great shit… Mainly, just a borderline-mainstream-soundin’ track,
here… My Rating: 3.7
11.
“Hu$tle Bop”
I
already know about this one… And, THA BEST FEELING OF BEING HIGH
IZ…………………………………… >>> Hearin’ my tag in tha beginning
‘cause of my YouTube upload! It’s 2018 & I’m gonna be 30; I feel tha value,
now!! I like this a lot betta than when I first did… Somethin’ about how I
connect wit it eva since my 1st job gave me anxiety! I turned ta my
’82 – ’84 babies as tha biggest celebz in tha world, ya dig? Just luvin’ tha
upbeatness, as always! Hu$tle, one of tha ones that inspires me to be as cool
as I always gon continue ta be! Thinkin’ ‘bout myself when this was on my
playlist five years ago… Just rockin’ dem Girbauds, headin’ home from NY to PA
on February 18, 2013, right before I helped B-Real out wit his equipment… I
love how I’m bound ta be peoples’ lifesaver! My Current Rating: 4.9
12.
“It’s Up” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
Gotta keep it “up!!” >>> I’ono about Earl’s intro, here… My 1st topic I counteracted on in my latest video interview on me was how they think of stereotypin’ Baton Rouge as only “makin’ jigg music.” If you listen now, there’s quite tha amount of mainstream, “money”-soundin’ bullshit, these dayz! Look how my interest went far down! It’s tryna survive, day by day, month by month! Anyway, Biggie throwback beat to rap on, here, and good rhymes throughout tha 1st verse… A catchy lil’ repetitive hook, too; can’t deny it… Sometimes, lookin’ at your back on tha artwork’s front cover looks like there’s almost a big butterfly on your back. That’s what I see in my tripped-out mind… Like, I know I can see a brown butterfly!! But yeah, not bad wit tha 2nd verse; I’m not tha most-fascinated over remakes but I’ll give it some sorta plus… My Rating: 3.5

13.
“Kill Them Niggaz” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
Keepin’
it goin’… >>> Likin’ Earl in this intro, over this quieter-soundin’
dark beat… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and yeah, “Tha game iz
really bluesin’;” I agree! Tha hook toward tha end sounds like I done heard tha
sayin’ from somewhere, almost like in a song, too? Tha 2nd verse
kinda short, here, soundin’ good ta hear, too… Jumpin’ right back in with tha 3rd
verse, here, soundin’ good… A 4th verse, here, slickin’ tha “dog” tricks, here! Tha 5th verse, here,
“fetchin’” wit more “dog” shit, like a dog’s
shit, lol! Likin’ how tha outro’s “roll anotha blunt and lemme talk my
shit!” How about, eat anotha edible? Highs are tha righ way!! My Rating: 3.9
14.
“If It’s Real” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
This’ll
prolly be good, too; what route we headin’ to? Can’t wait till what I got in
stores fa next month, despite how quiet I’ve been in tha game! I’ve been
channelin’ tha right energy!!
>>> Good intro from Earl and yeah, “it’s jammin’;” definitely a plus!
Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like some rappin’ to just
rap through tha CD, here; can’t deny it… “Neva
promotin’ fake, even if it’s for a mill!” I got that mind, now! Can’t believe
tha bullshit I promoted in my 20’s! My 30’s? Shiiid, that’s where only tha real be at!! Tha hook sounds
aight, here; not much ta say… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and you got this
shit goin’ on, here! “Styrofoam cup fulla lean!” Can’t wait ta sip witchu, one
day!! Good shit throughout tha rest of tha verse; do yo shit, dawg! My Rating: 4.0
15.
“Right Na” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
[No
preview; let’s hear what’s next…] >>> Doshaburna Beats, here! Sounds
like it gon be an anthem, even tho I’ono about a “money” anticipation? Hearin’
you on tha hook and it sounds like I heard this from somewhere… Definitely
catchy-ass shit, regardless of what remakin’ route or catchy route it’s goin’…
Sounds like a good 1st verse, here, as you got a Lil’ Hu$tle, now…
What will he be like in tha game in 2037? Enterin’ tha 20’s? What will tha
world be like by then? How much bigger will I be? Can’t imagine!! Good job wit
tha 1st verse and catchy shit comin’ outta tha “right na” flow, on
tha hook… Tha 2nd verse soundin’ good; more catchiness… I see how
this a longer one (4:17)? Prolly woulda been betta in that range of tha 2:00 –
2:59, like tha otha songs… More of a long outro, here, as well as anotha hook…
Overall, a lil’ catchy, extra track, here… My
Rating: 4.1
16.
“Them Dollars” with DJ Ya Boy Earl
I’ono,
we’ll have ta see… >>> Almost thought it was a “Pass The Dutchie”
beat, based off that 1st second… Hearin’ tha beat and it sounds like
it can be a throwback, cool-soundin’ southern, sunset-soundin’ track, here!
Definitely ready fa it (King Sav vibe?)! Hearin’ you on tha 1st
verse and it sounds like a good vibe, here… Diggin’ tha 2nd verse
wit tha “like June dayz with snowflakes” line; good shit, here… “Check tha
tats, I’m Macked Out!” Gotta represent! And, “Jimi Jump” in tha references,
too; good shit! Tha hook’s pretty catchy wit that whisperin’, too! Great “cake”
anthem; can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.4
17.
“Save Me” feat. Yasi
Now,
we finally have anotha feature
listed, unlike tha ghost features of tha past, on this CD! I’ono how we gon end
it, tho; I’ll find out now… >>> I’ono if I shoulda thought a female
was gonna sing this but, I’ono, even tho a gay-soundin’ male voice, I’m diggin’
how tha feature soundin’ on this… A lil’ bit of a guilty pleasure but it still
sounds good, I guess? Didn’t think he was gonna go right inta tha 1st
verse, too… R.I.P. “Zoe,” even tho I ain’t realize how many people knew about
him. Discovered him on February 18, 2008 and didn’t see a pic of him fa, like,
four years! Finally, hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and it cool ta
hear you on here… Sounds like a good, betta-than-depressin’-soundin’ endin’
song, here; definitely nice, I guess (guilty pleasure-like)… My Rating: 4.2
Overall: Excellent job, my boy!!
Definitely got yourself a good quality amount of jamz and catchy shit to make
tha BR undaground world go round! Gotta keep up tha consistency and always be in this!!

Will There Be Underground, Louisiana Rap Music After FTLD'z 20's?
Interviewed on May 9, 2018
As I enter my 30's next month, you would think that I'm hyped up to see what's gonna be next for tha undaground of Louisiana rap music. However, within tha past few years, especially since my most-recent trip last October, there's been a lotta issues goin' on that need attention/need to be fixed. As I've experienced some dark sides recently, I'm here to become a stronger, worthy person because of it. This iz a message to those that are autistic: You will break outta your shell and live a fearless life, one day!
