Review #1,487: Raj Smoove "The Greatest DJ In The World Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 12.25.2015 (Review #1,487)

Of course, not workin’ on Christmas and havin’ my half-brother figure out some new games in tha meantime, I figured I’d do a review… This one was sent to my email, randomly, from Raj Smoove, I believe… It’s Raj Smoove The Greatest DJ In The World Vol. 1, released on Paper Chasin’ Organization (P.C.O. Entertainment?) & D.E.O. Recordings. A compilation, let’s see what’s good wit this one… Start Time: 8:01 AM | End Time: 9:06 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2015 CD Review (Review #1,487) reviewed on 12.25.2015 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Raj Smoove Opening
>>> Nice movie intro, even though I feel like, it feels great to do reviewz again, but still feels weird… My Rating: N/A

02. Raj Smoove & Tunechi “Intro”
LOL, goin’ with tha “Tunechi” ID, here… >>> Sounds good with all that mixin’ that reminds me of tha early ‘00s, lol. My Rating: N/A

03. Lil’ Wayne “Pour Up”
Now, back to Weezy, lol… >>> Sounds like one of those regular-soundin’, newer Wayne songs out nowhere… Nothing terrible like tha end of tha ‘00s/early ‘10s, but just basic… Still, kinda long? No comment on tha rest of this boring shit… My Rating: 2.0

04. Paasky feat. Kourtney Heart “Negus”
>>> Not really anticipating R&B on this mixtape… Once tha rappin’ comes in, it only sounds decent; nothin’ strikin’ at all… It says, “Nigga,” on tha hook, but it’s titled “Negus,” lol? My Rating: 1.8

05. Raw Dizzy feat. Kidd Kidd “Ball”
! >>> Diggin’ tha start, so far; best from this mixtape, so far! Good shit from Dizzy on tha 1st verse, here; good, consistent rappin’ at its finest… Tha 2nd verse sounds good on this, too, as well as tha simple hook… Hearin’ Kidd on tha 3rd verse and it ain’t bad, here; still betta than tha previous jointz on here! My Rating: 3.9

06. Kris Baptiste “No Play”
>>> Almost sounds like Drake to me… Hearin’ tha verse and it ain’t too bad, so far… Tha rhymes sound kinda catchy, but at tha same time, sound kinda typical… Tha hook’s shitty to me; no need for dumbass voice effects! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, though nothin’ that’ll capture me; almost has a Big Sean-like flow, now… My Rating: 3.1

07. LG feat. Kidd Kidd & Jay The Cool “Shive”
>>> Sounds like somethin’ comin’ from tha streets of N.O., here, fa tha 2010s… Not too bad with tha 1st verse, here; at least it ain’t terrible… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s nice; nothin’ much ta say about it… Hearin’ Kidd on tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty consistent in tha beginning with tha “test up” shit. LOL @ tha reference ta “Neva Eva” during tha last parts of tha 2nd verse; nice! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from Jay and it’s nice with tha rappin’, but it’s ehh, as far as catchiness… My Rating: 3.7

08. Gus & Buddy “Each Ova”
>>> Ain’t know this “Buddy” passed… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s okay; hearin’ tha 1st verse and this a-tune shit doesn’t go with me!! Not likin’ tha 2nd verse’s voice, too; no interest in this! OMG, a 3rd verse? Why?! Was gonna rate it a 1.1 but I’ll go even lower now!! My Rating: 1.0

09. Curren$y feat. Lil’ Wayne & August Alsina “Bottom Of The Bottle”
This more of a crossover-soundin’ song fa Mr. $y, even though I’m startin’ to like it more. Odd to see it on Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B vs. Music Choice Rap, but that’s how it be, sometimes… My Current Rating: 4.2

10. Paco Troxclair “Duffy”
Glad this word’s back! >>> Kinda has an old-school vibe to it in tha beat, a lil’; almost reminded me of “Here I Go” with tha bass… Shit sounds nice on tha 1st verse and tha hook’s on-n-poppin’! Definitely diggin’ tha great vibes of “goin’ duffy,” here! Too bad err-body abandoned tha “duffy” term ta just “get money,” now, smh! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice fa tha “Uptown” ones, as this Paco dude says! Tha 3rd verse pretty nice, too, even though in my opinion, what would make this mixtape more consistent with tha soundin’ iz if most of tha songs were two-verse songs! My Rating: 4.2

11. Hot Boy Turk feat. Lil’ Wayne “You Mad Yet”
>>> Sounds aight, so far, with Wayne on tha hook, minus tha “money” garbage… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, here (Turk), and it sounds nice ova this beat… “I bubble like Jacuzzi;” nice! Pretty nice joint, overall; startin’ ta dig tha Wayne hook even more… Uh oh, here he comes on tha 2nd verse, too; can he handle it? Ehh, randomness, here… “My niggas move weight like Kelly Clarkson;” weak line/reference? An okay/almost-weak verse fa me… My Rating: 3.8

½time: Not too great of a start, so far, as there’s a bunch of decent tracks and a bunch of weak ones… Still, we’re movin’ through this! A 3.1-rated CD, currently.

12. Tre G “She Say She Love Me”
>>> This sounds good; nice lil’ dark sound, here… I’ono why but this voice almost reminds me of Lil’ Keke, at times? Not really diggin’ tha hook with tha “know I’m gettin’ money” shit but other than that, it’s decent… SMH @ 1:45 where “shit” iz censored! My Rating: 3.4

13. B Streezy “100”
>>> Kinda on tha R&B vibe fa me, but that’s what I expected from him, too; not tha best start fa me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t too bad; kinda feelin’ this slow beat… Tha 2nd verse’s not bad, but I feel like nothin’s capturin’ me with this one, either… My Rating: 2.6

14. Kourtney Heart “Villain”
>>> Kinda a strange-soundin’ song fa me with hearin’ her as a “villain,” but this sounds really catchy for an R&B song, lol. Definitely feelin’ all tha catchy vocals and sound, here, lol, especially that chorus/title! My Rating: 4.2

15. Flighteous “Right There”
>>> Just a decent-soundin’ song, here, between tha beat and tha rappin’… My Rating: 2.8

16. Kevin Gates “Kno One”
LOL! Would’ve heard it for tha 1st time here if I wasn’t workin’ six dayz a week and carin’ about some stupid bitch that I put my all into, earlier this year! But yeah, just like tha Curren$y song, this anotha crossover one that’s on Hip-Hop And R&B vs. Rap (Music Choice). Kinda soft, but kinda good, at tha same time. P.S.: Nice drop; wish he would’ve done one for me in tha past! My Current Rating: 4.0

17. Dee-1 feat. Jones “Show On The Road”
>>> Nice lil’ strong hook with tha beat and everything; excellent start! Nice lil’ 1st verse from Dee, here, strictly stayin’ motivated to “tha road!” Luv when I hit “tha road,” but it only has been to limited areas nearby, so far, such as Pennsylvania & New York… And, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice from Dee, here; nice job, guys! My Rating: 4.3

18. Kidd Kidd “N.O. (Right On Time)”
>>> Sounds catchy with tha “burps” and all that, lol? Nice 1st verse but tha hook’s just basic fa me; I get it! “That check!” My Rating: 3.5

19. Sheba Songs “Restraining Order”
>>> Not feelin’ this a-tune garbage at all!! Couldn’t tell if it was a female or male at first, but it’s a chick; bleh…! My Rating: 1.0

20. 5th Ward Weebie & Big Choo “Lurkin’”
This one looks like it gon be good! >>> Nice drop in tha beginning but lost all interest in this once I heard tha “Don’t Tell ‘Em” beat intro… Unless this can be a lil’ bounce-y, it could have a comeback…, maybe… Well, it looks like tha beat’s changin’ up a bunch of times; not bad for a bounce track… I’ono, this kinda boring fa me, overall; thought it was gon be a brand-new-soundin’ track… My Rating: 3.0

21. Kourtney Heart “Life Of The Party (Beat Back Remix)”
>>> I figured it was gon be bounce after tha previous joint on here… Kinda sounds nice ta hear; can’t complain… Again, anotha nice hook; great fa an R&B joint. Tha rest of this kinda drags on; like, it could’ve been shorter? My Rating: 3.3

22. Tunechi “Outro”
>>> Soundin’ nice and fulla dat shit! Really random and long fa an ending, but you know I luv when I hear Wayne talkin’! In tha end, afta all this “bag”-searchin’, Wayne “fucked this bitch;” bow!! My Rating: N/A

Overall: For tha most part, this mixtape was just touchin’ average at its best… A few R&B vibes got in tha way fa me, while there was a-tune garbage and shit. But, a few nice tracks, at least… And, this has been anotha FTLD review!

Review #1,484: Gunplay "Living Legend"

Reviewed on 11.24.2015 (Review #1,484)

I think it’s about time I get some of these reviewz done? Finally got off of six dayz a week and can catch up a lil’ better… Straight outta Carol City, FL, here goes my review for Gunplay Living Legend! An anticipated album, but I never got to get to it till now, unfortunately… Released on Maybach Music Group & Def Jam Recordings, Gunplay previously went by “Don Logan” earlier this year. However, he went back to Gunplay. So, let’s see how good this CD wound up bein’… Start Time: 6:59 PM | End Time: 7:49 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Tell ‘Em”
Without tha “Daddy” in tha title, lol? Didn’t think it would be tha opening track… Been a minute since I heard it, last—of course, anything released before my brother died seems like soooo long ago! Hearin’ tha intro on here and it sounds like an intro attached to this, lol. Now, rehearin’ it and it does sound like it would be an intro track… It’s just, it gettin’ released on Music Choice Rap with not many spins from there or me made me think it wouldn’t be an opening track, fa some reason… But, definitely nice, still, with how you are and what you are! Once again, feelin’ tha consistency with how you’re everything… My Current Rating: 4.2

02. “Just Won’t Do” feat. PJK
Lemme hear…; don’t think I know tha feature… >>> Sounds like it gon be a slow song? Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you recycled your “Bible On The Dash” highlighted line (“I ask tha pastor, what’s tha fastest way to Heaven…”); ehh… Still, as always, gotta feel what you bringin’ to tha table, here. Crazy to think that two years ago, I used to jump up and down with excitement when your music would come on Music Choice Rap! And, addin’ Meital Dohan “Give Us Back Love (Dave Audé Radio Edit)” in tha background while your music came on, I was crazy!
Imagine if I was gettin’ high a lot back then?! What tha hell would I be like? Like, it’d be even crazier! But, hearin’ tha hook and damn @ tha acronym for tha feature! PJK = Peryon J Kee! Sounds like a nice lil’ southern hook, here; can’t complain… Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, still; kinda sounds a lil’ short…? Tha last minute of this’ kinda random with a lil’ bridge or somethin’…; not bad… My Rating: 4.0

03. “Be Like Me” feat. Rick Ross
Neva got ta play this one, especially since I kept focusing on tha previous single, “Wuzhanindoe”, at tha same time; wish I didn’t fall behind this summer. It’s just, everytime I turned, I was doin’ either a tribute video fa someone or a live CD review. But, this still jammin’ fa anotha Ricky collab! Definitely diggin’ tha upbeat Maybach style, here, in tha beat! And, Rozay brings it on tha 1st verse; can’t complain, despite his fake past! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and, of course, just as jammin’ as Ross! Of course, you sound better with these regular-soundin’ rhymes… Even keepin’ it goin’ on tha 3rd verse, of course; quenchin’, lol… My Current Rating: 4.4

04. “Only 1”
Okay, let’s hear this, lol! >>> Tha beat start sounds like it gon be anticipatin’… Kinda likin’ tha hook, except tha “gettin’ money” repetitiveness… Diggin’ what you spittin’, here, includin’ your character in your voice when you say, “Me 2;” nice! Regardless of anything, I’m definitely feelin’ this! Keepin’ it goin’ with tha explicitness on tha final verse! My Rating: 4.3

05. “From Da Jump” feat. Triple Cs
Lookin’ forward ta this collab! >>> Sounds like a nice start with tha beat, here… Here you are on tha hook, comin’ through with that 305-type gangsta shit; gotta feel it! Nice job with you on tha 1st verse, comin’ through on tha move like you always do… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse (Young Breed, I believe?) and it’s soundin’ great ta hear; gotta luv them C boyz!! Hustlin’ at its finest; gotta feel tha “extendos!” Hearin’ tha 3rd verse (Torch, I believe?) and it’s good… Kinda like err-body tryna get to tha “money,” but it’s whateva… My Rating: 4.2

½time: So far, definitely nice and consistent; can’t complain! A 4.2-rated CD, currently; gotta feel what you bringin’ to tha table in a mainstream way!

06. “Wuzhanindoe” feat. YG
And, here we are with this one! Gotta luv tha Cali-type beat and collab, of course! Still pretty dope ta hear, as it tried to make its way to tha mainstream rap scene as much as it could! Just feelin’ how you go off on tha beat, doin’ tha damn thang… YG, of course, adds that nice collab-catchiness to tha hook that you can’t deny, as well… And, hearin’ YG on his verse and it’s nice and consistent! Can’t deny his music; he really brings tha quality from tha West Coast like none other fa this decade! My Current Rating: 4.6

07. “Chain Smokin’” feat. Stalley & Curren$y
Ooh, this came outta nowhere like a surprise! Can’t wait ta hear this with 5:39 on tha length!! >>> Excellent first 22 seconds, here, with tha heavy “smokin’!” How ‘bout a geeb, Mr. Logan, lol? You know that’s where I’m at all tha time in New York, ya dig?! Beat’s pretty nice with this southern, laidback vibe! Definitely diggin’ tha hook with tha “smokin’” vibe, of course; nice, Gunplay! Here’s Stalley on tha 1st verse, comin’ through like a nice pothead in tha beginning, and then, transitions to his “big dog” lifestyle; gotta dig it! Got Spitta on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through like your new Curren$y song ta get high to, lol! When I think of Curren$y, all I can think about iz when tha single gets released, I just can’t wait ta listen to it while I’m high! He makes high music all tha time and I luv it!! Great job contributin’, $y, lol! Here you are on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through with your “vapor” and non-stop, random rhymin’… It ain’t too bad, though I think your patnaz did betta with tha rhymin’ on this one… It ain’t really a “Kush” fa me, but it’s still nice ta have a 2015 version! Yes, we got a skit for tha end, here! Po’in’ up, microwavin’ up!! LOL, gettin’ me excited, here!! Can’t wait fa tha next hit…of weed, that iz!! My Rating: 4.7

08. “White Bitch”
Hmm, let’s hear this… >>> Okay, this sounds like it gon be pretty tight! Definitely diggin’ tha intense sound in tha beat and this repeatin’ sample! Definitely a nice joint fa tha cocaina!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you keepin’ it goin’ fa one of tha coolest 36-year-olds out there! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and you “got tha plug on blow,” so you know you holdin’ it down! LOL, randomly, I said, “Cocaina,” and now, you said it in tha verse! LOL, who knew?! Tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, too; can’t complain… I’ono, but I feel like this would be a good Music Choice Rap song outta nowhere… My Rating: 4.5

09. “Blood On The Dope” feat. PJK & Yo Gotti
Looks like anotha anticipatin’ collab! I think this gon be excellent, too! >>> Of course, anotha hot beat fa tha “dope” you providin’! Hearin’ tha hook and this shit’s nice! Definitely feelin’ tha content you bring to tha streets, here, with tha “dope;” you already know how Gotti rolls, too, lol! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it sounds great ta hear, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and damn, tha ID’s backwards! Peryon ahead of Gotti, here, since Gotti must be on tha 3rd verse… But, hearin’ what he bringin’ to tha table and it’s decent… Still, I feel like he fits in nicely, kinda like tha quiet FrankieThaLuckyDog in tha room fulla people that talk a lot, lol. Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from Gotti and, of course, nice job providin’ tha “dope” in multiple wayz, lol… My Rating: 4.2

10. “Dark Dayz”
Yup, that’s what it’s been like this year, between losin’ my brother of an overdose and then, four months later, my great-grandma… But, I should be excited ta hear this! >>> Ooh, tha same producers as tha “Bible On The Dash” joint! Definitely diggin’ this “dark”-soundin’ beat! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s a pretty-nice verse… It sounds like you’re lettin’ out them demons, but in an effective way! “Been an H-U-S-T-L-E-R since Age 1…;” what? What about “Age” 0, lol? Like, not in tha ‘70s, lol? I’m just playin’, lol… Great job with tha long 1st verse, as you keep tha dark, undaground vibe goin’, but for tha mainstream! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; you really deliverin’ your heart out on these “dark” streets, Mr. Play! Fadin’ out around 1:17 remaining? What’s at tha end…? I hear somethin’ vibratin’—phone… Nice, motivational conversation from your mom! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Leave Da Game” feat. Masspike Miles
Endin’ it with anotha long joint… Let’s see how we end this CD off… >>> Kinda sounds like it gon be a lil’ on tha depressin’ side? Not really that bad for a start, here… Diggin’ tha hook from Masspike, as well as tha beat. Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and yeah, no matter how much we struggle, we can’t “leave da game!” I definitely agree with this one, as I’m strugglin’ with shit, too! Most of tha shit I struggle with iz priorities people have fa me! Like, I’ve been in tha game fa at least a decade, eight years fuckin’ with tha Louisiana rap scene! I’ve neva met any artists and almost all of them fail to send me shit when it first comes out! I kinda look at myself like, “Am I not special?” People tell me ta block this one and get away, but I’m so far deep in “da game” (5,999,000 YouTube views) that it’s almost impossible to get out, no matter what! Someone’ll contact you along tha line! But yeah, on to tha 2nd verse, here… It sounds pretty good ta hear, too; can’t complain… Got tha final verse of this CD, here, on tha 3rd verse, and it’s soundin’ nice ta hear, too… People may hate on me makin’ my own priorities, but I gotta do thangz fa myself, especially with a job and car payment! I got my 2nd album comin’ out soon! I just produced six tracks for it yesterday, so I’m glad to be refocusing on my music! My Rating: 3.9

Overall: Of course, just as I expected! I thought that this was a nice lil’ mainstream CD from you, with your great, southern vibes! Too bad “Kush” didn’t make it, and your “The World Is Mine” didn’t appear on here, but you still brought a bunch of great jointz to tha table! Just like you said on tha final joint, you struggle with deciding to “leave da game,” but we must continue! People have come when I started and faded away so fast! I know that me, tha consistent one, I must continue! But yeah, keep up tha great work! Keep your aggression, underground, drug-related, Floridian content comin’!!

Review #1,361: Mr. Marcelo "OG Luv Dat OG (Hosted by DJ SWU)"

Reviewed on 1.02.2014 (Review #1,361)

Up next, got a Jet Life review right chea fa my boy, Mr. Marcelo, who I recently got connected with! Here goes my review fa his OG Luv Dat OG (Hosted by DJ SWU) mixtape! Start Time: 9:32 PM | End Time: 10:08 PM

If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

© 2014 CD Review (Review #1,361) reviewed on 1.02.2014 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Intro”
Brotha Beatz on tha beat, here… >>> Sounds like a catchy beat and how you come through on tha intro to tha intro, wit sayin’ tha same thing twice! Feelin’ your rhymes, here… My Rating: 4.2

02. “Kool-G Rap”
Koe Adams doin’ tha production, here; let’s see what made you have this rapper as tha title of your song… >>> I wish I “could smell” dat “OG shit,” right now, Celo! Nice “no actor, but I’mma factor” line; good shit goin’ on in tha verse… My Rating: 4.3

03. “Barry White”
Trakaddic doin’ tha track, here… From a rapper title to a singer title; let’s see… >>> And, tha sample in tha beat kinda explains tha title, here… Gotta luv that you “be smellin’ like good weed;” wish I could “smell” it, right now, ya feel me? Good rhymes tha whole way ‘round on this! My Rating: 4.1

04. “Preach 2 ‘Em”
Roe Adams beat. >>> Feelin’ tha rhymes on this okay beat, here. Tha beat may be okay, but when you rap on it, it adjusts to tha track, overall, so I can’t complain! Catchy hook, too, about you preachin’ “2 ‘em.” LOL @ tha Trinidad James “don’t believe me, just watch” quote in tha 2nd verse! Good 3rd verse, too, about your “life” and shit. My Rating: 4.0

05. “Toast To Success” Feat. Young Roddy
Donkody on tha beat… >>> A decent start with a decent 1st verse from you… Tha hook ain’t too bad, but I like how it sounds like some supastar status with tha lyrical content. Young Roddy comin’ through on tha 2nd verse…; almost sounds a lil’ too young fa you ta collab with, but it ain’t terrible… My Rating: 3.9

06. “Scarface (Remix)” Feat. Juvenile, Ceto, 6 Shot & Wacko
Almost thought that was 6 Ward Pook on tha feature… Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this one with Al Beats on tha beat! And, anotha artist on tha title. >>> Sounds like an okay joint with a hip-hop soul-like beat, here… You did a nice job wit your verse, but Juve sounds betta, here! He 2nd on this joint, and his rhymes are nice and consistent, non-stop! Got one of y’all next (sounds like Wacko, but he last in tha ID…); it sounds good, once again! 504 style to tha fullest! Tha 4th verse sounds laidback; good shit. My Rating: 4.2

½time: So far, so good; regular N.O. music, here, with a 4.1 CD rating, currently!

07. “Game”
Debo Beats beat. >>> It sounds like you’re focused, here; nice joint… There’s really nothin’ much ta say about this, except that you’re consistent wit droppin’ good music. My Rating: 4.0

08. “Say Dat” Feat. Curren$y
Got a family member on tha feature, here, with Anice on tha beat! >>> Sounds good; can’t complain… Tha rhymes are catchy fa this beat, in a mainstream perspective; tha hook’s aight, too… You keepin’ tha consistent vibes goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, too; nice… Spitta on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit an okay/catchy verse; glad he consistent, too! My Rating: 4.1

09. “D Boy”
John G Beats beat. >>> This ain’t too bad…; delivery-wise, it sounds more like a life story than a rap song fa me. My Rating: 3.6

10. “Better Days” Feat. Casso
Brotha Beats beat. >>> Flow’s kinda gettin’ boring, at times, but I don’t mind hearin’ what you got ta say… Tha beat sounds betta and how tha track sounds with Casso on tha 2nd verse, here… My Rating: 3.5

11. “One Night”
Yoady-Yo Lionheart on tha track; looks like a royal name for a producer, like, Final Fantasy style! >>> I’m likin’ tha vibrating in tha beginning… Again, it’s not tha most-exciting sound, so far, but I’m feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse. “Freestyle on that couch;” nice. Tha hook’s okay, here; nothin’ too much ta say about it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it aight… My Rating: 3.7

12. “God Know” Feat. Willie B
Endin’ with a Trakaddic beat. >>> Sounds a lil’ betta, here; not bad wit tha 1st verse… Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit real rhymes, once again. Feelin’ your pain ova this beat… My Rating: 3.8

Overall: Tha 2nd ½ of this CD was more on tha decent/okay side fa me. But, this CD still managed ta get four stars from me. Keep up tha great work; hope we do some shit in tha future!

Rankings:

12.       “Better Days” Feat. Casso 3.5

Review #1,334: Mr. Marcelo "Return Of The Big Homie"

Reviewed on 10.30.2013 (Review #1,334)

Next up, anotha N.O. supastar—well, more undagroundstar, IMO: Mr. Marcelo Return Of The Big Homie, with Jet Life Recordings! Start Time: 12:57 PM | End Time: 1:38 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! © 2013 CD Review (Review #1,334) reviewed on 10.30.2013 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Intro”
>>> Beat sounds good, here, and you comin’ through wit some shit ta ride through—yea, through tha hood. My Rating: 4.1

02. “Scarface”
>>> This sounds good. Because of tha title, I thought it was gon sound more darker on tha beat, but I’m feelin’ how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes fa tha hood… “Always,” Marcelo! “Always!” My Rating: 3.8

03. “Bossed Up” Feat. Monsta Beatz
Got some Beatz on tha feature, here… >>> Catchy hook and beat, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and you really “blowin’,” here, lol… Tha 2nd verse iz good, here, and I don’t mind all tha “money” shit, for some reason… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Police”
>>> “Slot machines” suck and have bad odds! That’s why, it’s all about Blackjack or Roulette! Catchy beat, and tha hook (wit dat voice) ain’t too bad… Good rhymes durin’ tha 1st verse, here; I think this iz catchy… Tha 2nd verse iz nice, too; always a paranoid Marcelo. :( My Rating: 4.3

05. “Writing’s On Da Wall” Feat. Fiend
>>> Great start wit tha beat, and Fiend kickin’ off tha 1st verse! Tha hook sounds good, too, strictly stayin’ motivated… Tha 2nd verse sounds good from you, too; it’s all about readin’ tha “writing” that’s “on tha wall.” I guess tha real title’s “Writing’s On Da Wall”? That’s what DatPiff says, but tha back cover says, “Written In The Wall”? Yuck @ tha 15 seconds of silence at tha end… My Rating: 4.3

06. “Joyride”
>>> Nice beat, and tha verses sound good, here. Glad you keepin’ it hood at all times! My Rating: 4.0

07. “2nd To None”
>>> Not anotha “Backstabbers” song… At least it’s just a beat sample and a “what they do” part. Tha verse ain’t too bad, here, and tha singer on tha hook’s not bad, but not listed… My Rating: 3.6

½time: So far, so good. Sounds like every joint sounds good and consistent! A 4-star CD, currently!

08. “Fly With Us” Feat. Curren$y
>>> Tha beat’s decent, here, but I’m likin’ tha coughin’ in tha beginning… Not bad wit tha rhymes, here, and Curren$y comes through wit some consistent rhymes. My Rating: 3.8

09. “JetLife General”
This one came up as #08 on tha DatPiff tracklisting, but I’m goin’ wit tha cover and makin’ this #09… >>> Beat’s aight; rhymes are good… Short and sweet, at least. My Rating: 3.7

10. “Celebration” Feat. Skip & B3
>>> Sounds okay, once again. These beats are startin’ ta be decent for me, and not standin’ out… Tha 1st verse’s good wit tha rhymes; let’s see how it continues… Skip on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some good rhymes. Let’s see what gon remain wit B3 for the 3—verse, that iz, lol! Okay, much betta ta hear a voice like this, right now! Sounds like a big bodyguard, ready ta be resistant to P.A.N.z! My Rating: 3.9

11. “Cruise Control” Feat. Corner Boy P
>>> Beat sounds jazzy, here; nice ta rap on! Good job wit tha 1st verse, here… Damn, tha back cover ain’t list Corner Boy P on tha feature? Good thing for this DatPiff tracklisting… Seems like a really-good “smell” in tha “car” during tha 2nd verse; I feel dat! My Rating: 4.2

12. “Roll Weed” Feat. Dee Low
I know of Beelow, so who this Dee Low dude iz? Tha DatPiff tracklisting says he goes by “The Diamond Man”? >>> Beat sounds regular; nothin’ special, but tha rhymes are aight, here, on tha 1st verse… LOL @ tha 2nd verse, which iz a descriptive introduction to this “Mary [Keyshia] Jane” girl… Catchy verse! My Rating: 3.8

13. “Friends With Benefits”
>>> Now, we get some coughin’? Sounds okay for tha start, here… Really just wantin’ tha “benefits,” here, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha verses, and this iz okay, overall… My Rating: 3.5

14. “Crazy World” Feat. Jason Lyric & Jerkaman
Nice collab ta end this off? >>> Beat sounds nice, here, on a slightly-dark tip… Tha 1st verse sounds good, stayin’ “fly.” Singin’s aight on tha hook… Got tha lyrical Lyric on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good rhymes; not bad… Jerkaman on tha 3rd verse (DatPiff has them in tha correct order, while they’re in tha wrong order on tha back cover). This sounds pretty good, too; nice job wit tha collab! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Nice lil’ CD, overall; this qualifies as a good CD fa me, so nice job, Celo!

Rankings:

14.       “Friends With Benefits” 3.5 (lol @ ranked on tha bottom)

Reviewed on 8.30.2013 (Review #1,317)

Was ‘bout ta take a break from tha reviewz fa a lil’ bit, but I got my hands on somethin’, just now: Lil’ Cali a.k.a. Cali Pachino Rappin’ N Trappin’ (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl)!! And, I wouldn’t let tha day go by without reviewin’ it ‘cause today’s Cali’s birthday!! Happy birthday, once again!! Looks like things are goin’ great for ya! Was wondering, did you get your awards in tha mail from me, back in January? Hope so… Now then, let’s get to this! Not a Yz’Gyz Entertainment release, but it’s a UTP Records release, thanx ta Juvenile! Start Time: 3:08 PM | End Time: 4:05 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Rappin’-N-Trappin’ (Intro)”
Intro, here, produced by Mouse On Tha Tricky-Tricky-Track!! >>> Feelin’ tha beat Mouse produced, here! Feelin’ tha rhymes, Cali; strictly stayin’ on ya grind!! Oh, outta nowhere, Ya Boy Earl came in; forgot he hostin’! Good lil’ appearance from him while you’re deliverin’ tha nice hook! Reminds me of your “How I’m Coming” intro track on tha Enemy Of The State CD! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, and yea, you givin’ “it to ‘em raw!” Great job providin’ this fa us, Cali! And yea, gotta feel Earl on tha 2nd hook, too! Ya gotta “feel this!!” Keepin’ thangz goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, keepin’ “it G!” Nice lil’ 3rd part from Ya Boy Earl on tha 3rd hook, here! When will it be, “What up, FrankieThaLuckyDog?” My Rating: 4.4

02. “MLK” Feat. Juvenile
Ooh, this looks like it gon be interestin’, especially wit J Buc on tha beat!! >>> Really feelin’ tha beat start!! J Buc holdin’ tha sounds down!! Yea, Juve sounds great on tha hook, “Martin Luther King” style!! Wow, tha Buc beat & Juve go together great!! I already know dat Cali gon hold down tha 1st verse, here… Yup, “Rihanna” style, lol! Keepin’ shit goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, too, Cali; gotta feel how you comin’, like a “MLK,” Jr., Jr.!! An Earl outro?? Fuck yeah!! Gotta “put” this CD “in!!” Looks like Earl got his “dream” of “a nice car & hoes.” Currently, my dream iz to get hired at MTV/VH1, or tha video world, real soon! I’m tryna my best ta get out there wit my video countdowns! Cali, you gon see one of those video countdowns that you’re in soon! My Rating: 4.7

03. “Street Money” Feat. Juvenile & Mouse On Tha Track
Keepin’ it goin’ wit a great collaboration like this, as well as Mouse on tha beat & feature!! >>> Ooh, reminds me of tha previous beat; nice sound, once again!! Tha hook sounds jammin’; can’t deny it, though I’ve been hatin’ “money” titles/songs ‘cause I got robbed from someone who claimed they ‘bout “money!” But, good shit on tha 1st verse, Cali; you make this shit sound like fun… Here’s Juve on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some N.O. rhymes fa tha 2K13!! Now, it’s eight years and a day after Katrina! Oh, forgot that was Mouse on tha hook; this joint just breezed on by! But yea, Mouse did an excellent job wit tha hook ‘cause his voice iz awesome!! Cool as fuck on tha track!! LOL, anti-Earl, here, as there was no spoken outro! My Rating: 4.6

04. “Dat Dick (Remix 2)” Feat. Mystikal, Juvenile & J Buc
Coupla things: 1.) It’s tha remix (well, 2nd remix, since Juve’s now on it)!! 2.) J Buc’s on tha hook! Of course, this beat’s by Buc, and you already know, I know about this one! Tha original version, that I was bumpin’ durin’ my internship last year, iz on one of those video countdowns I’m preparin’, as well as “Me & My Thugs”. Lookin’ forward ta dat bein’ completed! I filmed my hosting parts in Kings Park, NY, in a nice abandoned building! And, speaking of this song, I put tha clean title on tha video countdown’s scene sheet, and I showed this girl that I found, that used to call into my favorite radio station, back in 2000 & 2001. I met her three dayz ago, and she was like, “‘Dat Stick’? What’s that?” LOL! But yea, neva got ta hear Juve’s part, so lemme see what he got goin’ on, here… >>> I like how he sounds on this. Mystikal sounded like an erupting dragon, spittin’ lava at anything in his path. Meanwhile, Juve felt like he provided his “dick” correct fa tha track and tha hoes! Once again, anotha good remix! I still liked Mouse’s original verse, though… My Rating: 4.6

05. “I Be” Feat. Level
Featuring a previous birthday boy, whose birthday was two dayz ago. Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this, wit Mouse on tha beat, again!! >>> Wow, anotha anthem; luv these beats!! How can you turn a title like this (only four characters) into somethin’ so catchy? Well, have Level repeat it in tha hook; gotta luv it!! Here’s Level on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit his automatic-soundin’ rhymes; nothin’s eva a challenge! Here you are on tha 2nd verse, almost soundin’ like Juve, lol… Gotta luv how you keep gettin’ success, Cali!! BTW, what happened to your Twitter followers? They’re, like, 10,000 less than last year (currently, at around 7,700)? I was showin’ my rappin’ granny dat, yesterday, lol… Here’s Level, comin’ through wit you on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit what y’all “be” doin’… Great back-n-forth verse parts! I wish Level had more of a focus on creatin’ success wit me, though, but many think I’m useless and an afterthought. :( My Rating: 4.6

06. DJ Ya Boy Earl Speaks
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dyin’ ta hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>> Attackin’ tha F-Boyz!! Fuck boyz!! Fake boyz!! Great job, Earl; glad ta hear you!! My Rating: N/A

07. “By The Bundle” Feat. Max Minelli & Mouse On Tha Track
Got mo heat wit Mouse on tha feature & beat!! Props ta him followin’ me on Twitter today! >>> Whoo!! Mo heat wit this beat!!! Gotta luv tha cough syrup-soundin’ vibe, here, lol! Definitely feelin’ all tha shit Mouse has “by tha bundle!” Kick-ass hook, only by Mouse! And, here you are on tha 1st verse, Cali, comin’ through wit a great hu$$le!! Got Max on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through, feelin’ good; can’t deny tha big dawgs! Speakin’ of “smokin’ Cali,” I got ta feel a high for tha 1st time two weeks ago today!! I have ta say, bein’ in a dream that’s reality feels like hypnotized fun, ya feel me?! My Rating: 4.6

08. “On!”
Exclamation point title!! Mouse on tha beat!! >>> Yea, Earl in tha beginning, ova this hot-soundin’ beat! Thanx fa clearin’ up how “trappin’” iz, but I dunno about quotin’ Meek Mill and his “Levels” shit… Then again, hearin’ Earl on an intro = drinkin’ some good fruit punch, or somethin’ that makes tha day, lol! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and you deliverin’ some nice rhymes on this beat… Oh, just went back ta Earl, strictly rippin’ apart tha F-“boyz,” lol! “Sellin’ grams outta a zip,” lol? Cali on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some “peanut butter.” Meanwhile, for lunch, I had ten small slices of turkey, five slices of cheese & a Chipotle roll! I weighed myself, and I was 117!! I tied my record, back in ’07, on your birthday, Cali!! Eatin’ like a bigger dawg now, lol! And, Earl did a nice job wit tha outro, though I consider this an album, not “mixtape”—well, kinda 50/50… My Rating: 4.4

½time: Wow, Cali, you keepin’ tha flava up!!! Currently, you’re at a 4.6 for tha CD rating, currently!!!!! I was gonna take a nap, like I usually do durin’ tha afternoon, but this CD iz keepin’ me awake, for tha moment! Your birthday can’t go by without this review, ya feel me?!

09. “Nasty” Feat. Kevin Gates
Guess ‘cause of Gates, we’re re-creatin’ a buzz, here, by puttin’ this on here, again? And, it’s DJ Yung Stylez on tha beat. “Yung” in his name? Thought it was just DJ Stylez, but whateva… I think I like this one betta than when I first heard it, a lil’ bit. My Current Rating: 4.4

10. “Pow!” Feat. Versey
Yes, more exclamations on my reviewin’-ass!! Mouse wit anotha beat, here… >>> Off to a calm start wit a lil’ bit of trumpets goin’ on… Ooh, this sounds different wit tha hook; props ta Versey fa providin’ somethin’ catchy wit you on tha hook!! “Pow!!” Nice job wit tha 1st verse, Cali; this sounds like one of your next hit songs!! I gon consider/co-sign it!! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; eight bars? Nice shit! Well, here’s tha rappin’ Versey on tha 3rd verse, and it sounds good. Sounds like a lotta random shit goin’ on wit tha rhymes, and it’s even more than eight bars… Well, 12; I guess that’s what it was, but you get so inta tha song that you lose track… My Rating: 4.7

11. “U Pussy”
Ooh, Beat Bangers on tha beat (B-Bangers? Tha Max Minelli “Angel Sing” dudes?)! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this attitude!! >>> Good vibe, here; can’t even picture it bein’ a mainstream perspective ‘cause your shit bangs, Cali!! Got you on tha 1st verse, comin’ through flockin’ wit tha “chicken on [your] lap,” lol! This kinda sounds like a familiar song, but this sound sounds on a 2010s tip… Either way, nice hook; call out dem P.A.N.’z, Cali!! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too; to me, you got buku “Facebook” luvaz, not hataz! My Rating: 4.3

12. “Thinking ‘Bout Me” Feat. Young Juve & Darren Hanible
A Mouse-produced joint, here; let’s see how this gon go wit these features…! >>> Was almost thrown off by tha beginning/hook, but that’s Snoop Dogg “Sexual Eruption”, and since it was when Nu$$ie was still alive, we’ll give it an exception. So, lol @ tha hook; I know they definitely “thinking ‘bout [you]!” Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and you makin’ tha mood sound good on this beat… Hope tha features don’t fuck it up; let’s see what tha 1st of two newbies has ta offer… Hearin’ tha 1st feature on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds like Bow Wow… Ehh, okay lyrics; it’s okay. I won’t hate on it… Tha 3rd verse iz a lil’ worse fa me… Not really into these newbies, as this iz more on today’s mainstream levels… Kinda long fa what you guys call a “mixtape.” Really? 5:34? My Rating: 3.6

13. “Yo Body” Feat. Juvenile
I think we might need some Juve? Mike Maven doin’ tha production, here… >>> Tha beginning sounds like somethin’ on a full-mainstream level… Yuck, not feelin’ tha hook at all from this mysterious singer that sounds like T-Pain in tha beginning!! Sounds like an album cut! If you feel this iz a “mixtape,” you prolly should’ve saved this for an actual album! I would’ve skipped this if it was some random rapper, but I gon do tha full review ‘cause it’s you… Hearin’ Juve on tha 1st verse, and it’s okay; he sets tha mood, but this ain’t my kinda song at all… Your part on tha 2nd verse sounds good fa what you spittin’ fa tha bitches; can’t deny you, at least, but I ain’t feelin’ tha song, overall! How ‘bout some “Dat Dick”s & Mouse productions? My Rating: 1.4

14. “My Bitch” Feat. Skip
Will this be betta? SelfMade Mafia on tha production! >>> Ehh, scared me a lil’ wit tha voice effect on your voice on tha hook, as well as this mainstream-soundin’, typical-soundin’, in-tha-trap-soundin’ beat… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and it sounds catchy; sounds like an anthem for tha bitches, but everything can be betta wit tha production! Hearin’ Skip on tha 2nd verse, and this iz okay fa what it iz… Sounds like he anticipatin’ ta “pop” someone, when this ‘pose ta be ‘bout a female… Not tha best combination, here… My Rating: 2.9

15. “Mo Money” Feat. Curren$y & Juvenile
A Mike WiLL Made It beat, like your “Itching”, lol! BTW, they fucked up on tha back cover: “Nad” for “And”, lol? >>> Hearin’ Curren$y on tha 1st verse, and things sound good… Nice verse from him, supplyin’ his consistent rhymes… Tha hook sounds nice wit its slightly-quiet background. Still, I think you can get 100% original beats on here, Cali! Startin’ ta sound like a mixed-tape, now… Got Juve comin’ through on tha 2nd verse… Lots of rhymes, lol! Feelin’ tha consistency! Got you comin’ through on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit nice rhymes that I like hearin’. Glad you holdin’ yaself down! My Rating: 3.7

16. “Go” Feat. Turk & 3D Na’Tee
Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this ta end this CD off, though Doughboy Beatz on tha track? Sounds like a jacked/internet producer…? >>> This has that mainstream, in-tha-trap sound to it, and I’m feelin’ tha hook… Good shit you spittin’ on tha 1st verse, strictly comin’ through as a now-29-year-old gangsta! “They go when I say, ‘Go!’” Likin’ tha hook, once again! Turk on tha 2nd verse? Guess I should put him above Na’Tee, since we gotta save tha best fa last! Catchy rhymes from Mr. Turk, here; feelin’ tha grimy saliva comin’ outta his mouth, here, lol! Ooh, Na’Tee did that “tha queen, biiiiiiiiiiiiiitch” intro again, like in “No Love”!! Gotta anticipate her, and yea, she’s got one of tha best verses on this CD!! I luv her fast rappin’; doesn’t sound cheesy like Gates’ in-random-spots’ fast shit! Thumbs up fa her rhymes!! Strictly spittin’ AK-47-like shots at tha speakers!! My Rating: 4.6

Overall: #’s 12 – 15 were a lil’ iffy for me, but other than that, this CD was fire!!! Kicked major ass wit this b-day presentation, Cali!! Keep up tha great work!! BTW, no outro from Earl? Did he just fall off tha CD outta nowhere? Damn… :( Felt like I didn’t get my full dose of Earl on this Cali birthday!! But, I’m sure more’ll be available in tha future!! Keep up tha great work!!
