Review #1,663: Devious "All The Devious Things I Did"
Reviewed on 2.27.2017 (Review #1,663)
Here
goes my review for Devious All The Devious Things I Did,
released in 1998 on Unity Entertainment. Reviewin’ this one on Long Island, NY,
so I can keep tha reviewz up… This my 33rd day in a row reviewin’! Start Time: 10:17 AM | End Time: 11:39 AM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything
after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening
to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your
vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’
topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

Intro (Nuttin’ Comes Easy) feat. T-Mann
>>>
Nice lil’ “Jazz” intro, here… My Rating:
N/A
02.
“Count ‘Em Off”
>>>
Sounds like a good track; decent beat and good hook… Hearin’ tha 1st
verse and it sounds like consistent rappin’, here… “Tha mic’s my guillotine!,”
on tha 2nd verse, here; dope-ass rhymes!! You’re real consistent wit
it, ya dig?! My Rating: 4.5
03.
“The Club Scene” feat. Bust Down
>>>
Oh, I’m diggin’ this hook! Nice lil’ “N.O.”-type party hook, here!! Makes me
even more excited fa my Louisiana
trip comin’ up!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s nice, here… Tha 2nd
½ of tha 1st verse’s pretty consistent wit tha rhymes, here! Hearin’
tha 2nd verse and it’s dope! “There ain’t no 2:00 laws down in New Orleans!” Oh, I’d
love to party wit Bubba, outta Baton Rouge, in Louisiana, one day!!
Should be dope!! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s dope, too! Excellent
collab, overall!! My Rating: 4.6
04.
“Minute By Minute” feat. Az One
>>>
Sounds like a laidback track, here… It’s great to have a laidback track on here
‘cause of how nice and laidback I’m feelin’, over these past two dayz! Hearin’
tha 1st verse and it’s nice… Tha hook’s pretty laidback, like some
Marley-like vocals, here; dope shit! Tha streetz have an undaground favorite,
here! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice, too… And, tha 3rd
verse’s soundin’ nice, as well… My
Rating: 3.8
05.
“She Used To Tell Me” feat. Mut
>>>
Sounds like a nice, laidback remake on tha hook, here… Hearin’ tha 1st
verse and you’re soundin’ nice, here… It makes me think, I can’t believe I built
myself to tha celebrity I am today! I can’t believe my Louisiana dream’s finally comin’ true in
under a month!! And, we got tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ decent wit
tha rhymes… My Rating: 3.9
06.
“If Bein’ Black Is Wrong” feat. Top
>>>
I’m really feelin’ tha “black” vs. “white” topic, here! Crazy-ass lyrics!! Even
mentionin’ “coffee seven dayz a week,” as well as “cream & sugar!” In a
review, lol? Crazy shit about tha “keys” on tha “piano,” too!! Tha hook sounds
jammin’ & catchy, too! This how a lyrical song should sound!! Take notes,
y’all!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it ain’t on tha level as you on
tha 1st verse, but it’s still good… Almost thought there was gon be
a 3rd verse, here! Only two!! My
Rating: 4.8
07.
“Even Though” feat. Scott, Wayne & T-Mann
>>>
A slower vibe, here, on tha beat & hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse
and, ugh, “Soggy like cereal?” Sad… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and tha
rhymes are really consistent, once again, with tha “in”-soundin’ rhymes…! My Rating: 4.0
08.
“On My Mind” feat. Aura
>>>
Decent, laidback hook & beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and
it’s not bad, so far… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s decent, here…
And, a 3rd verse, keepin’ it movin’, here… My Rating: 3.6
½time: Gotta love your

A 4.2-rated
CD, so far! Keep up tha rhymes and tha great, N.O. rhymes!!
09.
“Like Father, Like Son” feat. T-Mann
>>>
Sounds like a dope hook & chill beat! Almost reminded me of an ambient beat
in tha beginning… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice,
here, wit tha rhymes… And, tha 2nd verse ain’t bad, here… It’s like,
how did we get in this paranoid, eerie life we’re livin’ in, today? And, tha 3rd
verse’s pretty dope, too… My Rating: 3.9
10.
“Hey P-Poppers” feat. Jisaidie & Lil’ Trap
Wonder
if Lil’ Trap secretly knew about tha term, “trap,” or, “tha trap,” back in ’98?
>>> Kinda a dry beat, here, but still nice ta hear… Hearin’ tha 1st
verse and it’s nice… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s ehh, decent at its finest…
Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it ain’t bad, here… We got tha 3rd
verse up next and it’s decent, here… Even got a 4th verse, here,
from Jisaidie, soundin’ decent to hear, as well… Damn, this still goin’, lol!
Lil’ Trap on tha 5th verse, here, only “12 years-old!” That’s how
old I was when I started doin’ my daily top 10 countdowns, which I still do
today! Wonder what Lil’ Trap up to, now? Good verse, tho… Beat coulda been
betta, since it dragged, a lil’… My
Rating: 3.5
11.
“Growin’ Up In The Crescent” feat. DJ Mellow Fellow
>>>
Sounds nice wit tha whistlin’ beat… Tha 1st verse nice, here, as
well as tha hook… Tha 2nd verse iz soundin’ crazy and consistent wit
tha rhymes, here!! Definitely gotta feel it!! And, we got tha 3rd
verse, here, keepin’ it movin’… My
Rating: 4.3
12.
“Never Satisfied”
Ridin’
solo, finally? >>> Diggin’ tha eerie beat, here… Definitely an eerie,
trippy hook, here… Tha “get inside” part reminds me of explorin’ abandoned
buildings… Hearin’ you on tha 1st
verse and it’s pretty nice, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd
verse, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, here… My
Rating: 4.4
13.
“Forever Real” feat. Eboni & T-Mann
>>>
Eerie, dark intro, here! Now, tha track & it’s pretty dope! Diggin’ tha
chick’s voice wit this eerie-soundin’ hook! Hearin’ tha 1st verse
and it’s pretty dope! Also, a 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse,
here, soundin’ dope, too! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s dope wit
what y’all bringin’ to tha table, here… Here we are wit tha consistent-ass
rappin’, once again! Props! That’s real about tha “birthday / death date”
thing, when it comes to “party” & “retaliation!” My Rating: 4.3
14.
“Uncut Freestyle”
>>> Sounds dope, on tha hook & undaground beat, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s nice ta hear… Since I’m reviewin’ via phone & not tha computer, I can review, listen & shit, at tha same time… Lol, gotta love me!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, here, as well… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ nice to continue ta hear… Damn, this ended outta nowhere… My Rating: 4.1
>>> Sounds dope, on tha hook & undaground beat, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s nice ta hear… Since I’m reviewin’ via phone & not tha computer, I can review, listen & shit, at tha same time… Lol, gotta love me!! 15.
“Niggas Ain’t The Ones”
>>>
Sounds good, here, on tha hook & beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and
it’s nice, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’
pretty nice… My Rating: 4.0
16.
“Livin’ Dead” feat. Mut
>>>
A laidback lil’ tune, here… Sounds like a nice hook and beat, here… If Tony
Hawk’s Pro Skater had an undaground, chill-rap soundtrack, this would be on it,
lol! Let’s just skate ta this, ya dig, lol?! Hearin’ tha 1st verse
and you sound good/consistent, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s
soundin’ decent, here, as y’all keep it movin’, here… And, we got tha 3rd
verse, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, as well… My Rating: 3.7
17.
“Six Shots (The Cypher)” feat. Gangsta Foots of Too Solid, The Wizard, Top, Dre
of Raw Culture & Maximus Supreme
>>>
Now, this sounds like some nice, undaground trip-hop in tha beginning beat,
here! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope wit what’s bein’
spit, here! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s nice, too!
Definitely some dope shit! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s nice ta
hear, as well! Hearin’ tha 4th verse and it’s dope; feelin’ these
rhymes… I’ono how much I can stay interested in tha plain beat, but let’s keep
it movin’… Hearin’ tha 5th verse and it sounds nice and consistent,
here… And, “tha 6th shot to hip-hop,” a.k.a. tha “6th”
verse iz here and I’m diggin’ tha voice wit these consistent rhymes! Almost
like Biggie-like rhymin’ toward tha final 30 seconds, here? Dope shit! And, it
ended outta nowhere, too… My Rating: 4.2
Overall: I thought this was a nice
lil’ CD… You definitely know how to rap well & you got some nice,
undaground product, here! Good shit! Keep up tha great work, ya dig?

Review #716: Joey Queans "Summer Sunshades (The Mixtape)"
Reviewed on 12.20.2010 (Review #716)

Anotha review!!! Dis my 8th one for today and it’s only tha 5 PM hour!!! Here goes my review for Joey Queans “Summer Sunshades (The Mixtape)”! Too bad Winter’s tomorrow, smh.
Start Time: 5:50 PM | End Time: 6:43 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Welcome To Kenner City”
Shit yea! Let’s begin! >>> I heard dis beat before; how will you handle it? This sounds REAL NICE wit you just goin’ off on it!! CRAZY 1st verse here; REALLY goin’ off!!! Tha 2nd verse iz also REAL NICE!!! My Rating: 4.6
02. “Super Star” (Gunz Feat. Joey Queans)
LOL, you’re on tha feature? >>> Ooh, tha Robert Miles “Children” rhythm beat!! You sound pretty good on dis shit! Gunz (whoeva dat iz) creatin’ a catchy song here… Dis must be you on tha 2nd verse ‘cause of your guttaness! Good collab right chea! My Rating: 4.2
03. “Wuzzam” Feat. Tyger
>>> LOL, jammin’ beat here! Tha hook’s pretty tight wit tha “holla at a nigga, bitch” shit! Oh, it sounds even betta wit tha title part! Good shit on tha 1st verse; keepin’ dis thang consistent!! Tha 2nd verse iz also very consistent; these rhymes are DEFINITELY what’s up!!! My Rating: 4.5
04. “The Things You Do”
Alternative title called “Ruff About You” on tha mp3 info. I dunno what dis gon sound like… >>> This sounds nothin’ like anything I’d get excited about. I must say dat your rhymes are pretty interestin’—on a 21+ year-old level, which iz good. Too bad dis iz close ta four minutes long; a lil’ too long for a slow song? My Rating: 3.1
05. “Switch” (Tyger)
How will Tyger do solo? >>> Sounds like it gon be pretty hot. This iz a gurl, roarin’ like a tiger, lol! Cool wit tha consistency but tha flow sounds like Wayne so dat’s a lil’ bit of a minus… Did I hear a shout out ta “DJ Jubilee”? I hear somethin’-jubilee, lol. Regardless of it jackin’ any flow, it’s good fa what it iz; a jam iz a jam. My Rating: 3.7
06. “Let’s Go To Work” Feat. Tyger
Now, it’s a collaboration, lol… >>> Sounds pretty good; sounds like a trap anthem wit tha beat. Ooh, you’re soundin’ pretty nice wit tha “bag” shit in tha beginning of tha 1st verse! LOL, she’s keepin’ tha “trap” theme goin’ wit tha 2nd verse; good shit, Tyger! Back to you on tha 3rd verse, keepin’ tha flow catchy and tha rhymes goin’! My Rating: 4.0
07. “Baaaang” Feat. T-Man
LOL! >>> Tha beat iz cool here; you got a good ear fa beats, too! Tha hook sounds, like, a Chopper City-type hook; dumb shit! Tha hook’s DEFINITELY on a gangsta tip; gotta feel it! REALLY feelin’ tha attitude in tha 1st verse!!
It’s all about showin’ dat TOUGH side!!! Tha 2nd verse also doin’ tha damn thang on dis shit right chea! ROFL @ all tha “fucks” in tha beginning of tha 3rd verse! This DEFINITELY iz official!! My Rating: 4.5
½time: GR8, 4.1-rated CD so far!! Let’s keep dis shit on ‘n’ poppin’ ‘cause you DEFINITELY got shit on lock!!
08. “Can’t Get Enuff” Feat. B.Streezy
>>> What’s this shit? Weird-ass-soundin’ hook… I don’t really have interest in this kinda shit. Tha “fall in love” part sounds like Brooke Hogan’s “Falling” song, which iz prolly tha only somewhat-interestin’ thing that caught my attention. My Rating: 2.4
09. “Whole Wad Of Cash”
Tha “W” iz missin’ in “hole”, lol… You really don’t want a “hole” in your “wad of cash”, lol? >>> This iz decent; back to tha good street anthems… Tha hook sounds cool; good shit… Nice job on tha verses, as you have a cool flow on dis shit. My Rating: 3.9
10. “Super Models”
How will dis one go? >>> Thought this would be a lil’ faster like 9th Ward’s “Supermodel” song from a few years ago. However, this shit sounds pretty good; it’s all about tha catchiness. I feel like dis could be a mainstream single or somethin’… My Rating: 3.8
11. “Good Love Hotline”
>>> My mind went to Sheek Louch “Good Love” but I didn’t wanna focus on jacked beats; it sounds worse wit this Trey Songz-soundin’ song… Clean version? I’m likin’ some of tha lyrics here, though… My Rating: 2.8
12. “Haters I’m Hea”
LOL @ tha “Hea”. If there was an “R” at tha end, it would be wrong so good thing it’s slang/cut-off! >>> What a beat start! Tha hook’s kinda stale fa me; not likin’ these pre-made hooks… Tha rhymes are pretty good… Some of it iz kinda typical but I guess that’s what happens when there are “haters” around, lol. I like dat “erase dat, we be deletin’” part. My Rating: 3.6
13. “Twit Pic” Feat. Tyger & J.C.
This looks hella gay; let’s see if I’m right. >>> Yea, pretty bad intro. Why tha anthematic, “My Hood”-rhythmic-type beat? This iz nothin’ ta be happy about! My Rating: 1.3
14. “I’ma Be The Man”
>>> Sounds pretty good for an ending song. Okay, tha hook’s soundin’ pretty cool now dat I’m hearin’ it fa tha 2nd time. Tha verses are pretty good, too… Sounds like, what was, a good, end-of-Summer-type song. My Rating: 4.0
Overall: You did a GR8 job in tha beginning. However, mostly all tha 2nd ½ was either decent or garbage for me. Anyway, keep dat gutta, street shit comin’!!
Rankings:
14. “Twit Pic” Feat. Tyger & J.C. 1.3
13. “Can’t Get Enuff” Feat. B.Streezy 2.4
