Review #1,975: Black Menace "Mo Drama"

Reviewed on 6.03.2021 (Review #1,975)

Back up in tha mornin’ fa mo reviewz…! Still couldn’t get up at 3:55, due to my neck needin’ to be re-calibrated by me layin’ flat. However, I’m up now & I’m ready ta review: Black Menace Mo Drama iz my next review, released in 2000 on Menace Entertainment! Start Tyme: 5:19 AM | End Tyme: 6:32 AM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Yes Indeed” feat. Insane & Mr. Terror of Foolish
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> Kickin’ off with a bouncin’ & hype vibe, here… Sounds like a good lil’ hook, although it sounds a lil’ dated when I hear tha chick say tha title part; that’s just me, tho. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like it’s on some Cash Money-type shit, but on a faster tip; good shit, y’all. Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse & I’m diggin’ tha rapid, southern, kick-ass rappin’; dumb shit!! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s pretty dope, as well; can’t be denied with tha Black Menace boyz! Oh shit, ain’t realize there was room fa a 4th verse—oh wait, just a few extra barz from Mr. Terror! My Rating: 4.3

02. “Fuck Friends”
Producer: Hakeem & Kajun Phunk
>>> Sounds like anotha hyped-up street anthem, here; good hook & beat, too! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds pretty gutta; gotta luv how tha Menace boyz come thru! Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 2nd verse & it’s true: “You ain’t heard of tha Menace? Where tha fuck you niggaz from?” iz what y’all sayin’; I agree. I been knowin’ y’all fa a long minute, now, even showin’ y’all buku luv on my then-radio show, “Tha Louisiana Pit”. With that bein’ said, great job with tha 2nd verse; “fuck” those that aren’t “friends”! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s cool, too; just luv y’all energy fa tha streetz at all tymes! Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 4th verse & it’s cool ta add; more darker, deeper street shit, here… My Rating: 4.3

03. “Watch’em”
Producer: Precise
>>> Sounds familiar; I know some of these tracks from either previous reviewz or random radio spins. I’ono if I’m re-reviewin’ but this sounds good with tha hook & energy applied; great shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s cool with what’s comin’ through tha mic; keep it movin’! Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 2nd verse & y’all know what it iz with tha quality for tha streetz! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty gutta; I feel like I’m at a relative’s afterparty with tha Graveyard Soldjas! Also, a dope-soundin’ 4th verse; fully-focused on rappin’ awesome on tha beat, here! My Rating: 4.7

04. “Don’t Talk About It” feat. Geronimoe of Foolish, Insane & Tim Smooth
Producer: DJ Dick
Geronimoe iz also known as P-Town Moe, FYI… >>> Gotta luv tha continuous energy on this Mo Drama! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty hype; luvin’ tha energetic street content! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like anotha anthem, especially with tha “uh oh!!” chant in tha background! Gotta luv tha energy; I always say it! Keepin’ this shit goin’ on tha 2nd verse & Tim Smooth comin’ through wit some street knowledge, mixed with this club-type shit; nice combo…! Also, mo shit comin’ outta tha 2nd verse; gotta dig tha continuation! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse comin’ through, here & it’s cool; some of it sounds slightly off-beat but tha contribution’s nice ta hear, basically. My Rating: 4.4

05. “Madness”
Producer: Hakeem
>>> Sounds like a gangsta-ass beat start; definitely feelin’ tha darkness! Sounded like tha rappin’ came outta nowhere with its quickness; may be a lil’ too fast, tho? Like, good 1st verse but a lil’ too fast? Maybe, that’s why this iz called “Madness”? Tha hook’s pretty dope with how it’s delivered; tha “Madness” continues! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with mo “Madness”; good shit! My Rating: 4.4

06. “We Are One / Definition Of Love”
Producer: Hakeem
>>> A lot softer than tha previous joint! Sounds like a good lil’ street hook, at least; glad y’all can bring out tha street vibe. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s aight; sounds less-enjoyable ta me, in its softer wayz. Like, tha content’s still “written in blood”; it’s just a softer flow than tha previous jointz on here. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s str8; not much ta say about it… Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through with a more-lively voice & flow; a lil’ betta, this tyme… Tha 2nd part of tha 3rd verse seems a lil’ sappy with tha voice & flow, this tyme; not really into tha sad struggle… My Rating: 3.7

07. “Block Bleeder” feat. Insane & Smitty Da Pimp
Producer: Hakeem
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ slow beat fa tha streetz but tha hook’s definitely catchy with this flow; great job, y’all! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s all about bleedin’ tha “block”; good shit/rhymes! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse, comin’ through with a great sense of rapid rappin’; huh bruh…! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s pretty nice with what y’all contributin’ to tha track; great job with tha collab…! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 4th verse, here, comin’ through wit some nice-ass rapid rappin’! My Rating: 4.2

08. “Do Watcha Gonna Do” feat. Valerie George
Producer: Hakeem
>>> Beat ain’t bad but provides energy fa y’all ta kick ass on tha 1st verse, here; great job with tha hood shit…! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s a lil’ sappy fa me with this chick singin’; woulda rather’ve heard Ms. Tee’s voice. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty nice, as this hood track continues… Mo shit comin’ out this track with tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ like some good street shit; not bad, overall, for tha verses… Got a 4th verse, here, soundin’ like an okay contribution; just seems like too much, at this point in tha track… My Rating: 2.8

½tyme: Y’all real consistent with tha tracks, energy & hood content, here; definitely a major plus! Just didn’t really fuck wit #08 but for tha most part, y’all keep that energy up fa tha streetz! Y’all got a 4.1 for tha average rating, so far; let’s keep it movin’!

09. “Drama As Usual”
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> Again, this anotha one of those familiar titles, so I’m not 100% sure if I already heard this one… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty much filled with insanity; beats are energetic & tha rhymes are undeniable!! Also, hearin’ tha hook & it goes through so fast to where you have to automatically accept it as a banga; good shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty nice, as this rapidness continues…! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ great ta hear; unstoppable! My Rating: 4.5

10. “Rush The Floor” feat. Kangol of PNC & Sporty-T
Producer: Precise
>>> Slightly slower than tha previous joint but still fulla energy; nice lil’ hook, here…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty dope with this life-of-tha-party shit…! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s catchy; can’t deny tha club at all tymes! Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 2nd verse & this deeper-soundin’ voice gives more of a street vibe, compared to my club-soundin’ perspective; good shit… Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 3rd verse, as well; some mo street shit at its finest…! Nice outro from Sporty-Tiggy-Tiggy-T, as well; props fa tha hype…! My Rating: 4.2

11. “Po-Mama”
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> Thought this was gon be more depressin’ but it’s more energetic than I thought; good lil’ beat & 1st verse, here…! Props fa havin’ that aggression ta express this street shit; this that shit you need fa quality! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds expressive but not too depressin’, at least… Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty nice; keep bein’ gritty & grimy! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & tha “ganja marijuana” be on-n-poppin’; definitely what’s up! Seems like a bunch of shit sounds random ta hear on this track but that’s ‘cause there’s so many lyrics; insanity! My Rating: 4.1

12. “Hustlin’ 4 Nothin’”
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> A slower track? I’ono how much I can feel this; “and, do you care………???” Like, more cheesy than serious, as far as how I take it? Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s aight; just sounds too much like it’s on a depressin’ tip, here… Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with some nice rhymes; good rappin’ & shit, despite tha struggle. Got a 3rd verse comin’ through, here, soundin’ like a set of bad street scenes; ouch… Ouch @ tha “empty stocking,” when it comes to “Christmas”; too sad ta hear…! My Rating: 3.2

13. “All Around The World”
Producer: Hakeem
>>> Glad there’s more energy with this one; feelin’ how tha hook sounds & how y’all wanna live it up ta escape tha negativity! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty nice with this beat; continuous energy…! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice; props fa keepin’ tha rhymes goin’…! Got mo shit comin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ like anotha good, rapid-spit verse…! Got a 4th verse comin’ through, here, soundin’ pretty nice ta hear, once again; a whole album just loaded with verses! My Rating: 4.1

14. “4 Of The Realest” feat. Geronimoe of Foolish & Insane
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> Sounds like a hyped-up beat & hook, here; definitely feelin’ tha aggressive side of tha club, here, in tha dark! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s dope; tha life of a gangsta in tha night! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse, soundin’ nice & consistent; steady movin’ with tha quality! Really feelin’ tha N.O. energy on tha 3rd verse’s delivery; props fa havin’ this collab on lock, y’all! Luv tha consistency of this 3rd verse! Put tha “blues” in ‘em! Of course, there’s still room fa a 4th verse, here…; sounds like a good lil’ verse, regardless. I feel tha Magic-like aggression in tha voice; gotta hold it down! My Rating: 4.5

15. “Why”
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> Tha energy continues, here! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s nice; just keep these dark tales comin’! Tha proper energy helps me embrace tha tracks! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s dope with how y’all come through with this dark tale of tha 5-0-4! Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ like a good lil’ verse; diggin’ tha consistency of tha rhymes & flow! Basically, tha word I’m lookin’ for to describe Black Menace iz “unstoppable”! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here, dealin’ with that life “behind tha buildin’”; don’t be “stressin’,” tho! Gotta hang in there; this beat’s energy can tell you tha same! My Rating: 4.0

16. “Nigga What’s Happenin’?”
Producer: DJ Dick
>>> Mo energy & I like this energy slightly betta than tha previous joint; good hook & how focused y’all iz! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & y’all really got tha focus on lock with tha hook; can’t deny y’all passion fa this shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s dope with how consistent it iz with tha title; undeniable, once again! So much energy bein’ applied; no wonder why tha streetz really embrace y’all asses! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse, here & it’s aggressive af; gotta luv tha aggression! It’s literally like runnin’ a mile or trail; you gots to have tha Black Menace energy to survive!! Hearin’ tha 4th verse & damn!! “Fuck a lottery ticket”; like, y’all really have tha mind of menaces! Frfr!! My Rating: 4.6

17. “Take It To The Streets” (Insane)
Producer: Kajun Phunk
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ Cash Money-like beat, just like tha 1st track sounded…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s dope with how Insane comes through with this southern voice; he Louisiana to tha bone! Luv tha consistent rhymes; glad he provided some shine on his own, here! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s dope; gotta hold it down fa these “streets”, Mr. Sane! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty dope; however, self-esteem sinkin’ with all tha “stressin’” shit? Can’t be; just keep shmokin’, like you previously stated! Mo shit comin’ through with a 3rd verse, no matter if tha track’s only 2:26 on tha length! Dope with how Insane just doesn’t stop!! My Rating: 4.3

Overall: Excellent job, y’all; y’all know what it iz! Y’all really shined on this bih, between all tha energy, all tha aggressive deliveries & how y’all came through with tha street content! Awesome job; neva stop grindin’!!

Review #1,908: Tim Smooth "Let It Be Written"

Reviewed on 12.26.2019 (Review #1,908)

Almost time fa work; glad I got at least three reviewz done fa today… This one’s comin’ from tha late Tim Smooth Let It Be Written, released in 1999 on Camped Out Records! It was produced by Ice Mike, Roland, Goldfingers & Wydell, as well! Start Time: 5:01 PM | End Time: 6:21 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!

01. “Camped Out” feat. Black Menace
>>> I like how tha pages of tha book turns in tha beginning, here… Also, nice fanfare in tha beat ta kick it off! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s tha truth! Just luv this crazy, aggressive shit!! Tha hook pretty nice, as well; gotta luv what y’all bringin’! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s dope; y’all know what it iz! I agree wit tha “sober” shit: “Feelin’ like life iz over,” in a way. It’s like, I can’t enjoy anythang, over a bullshit pussy who rats! Smh! I feel like I left tha world…! Don’t worry, my light at tha end of tha tunnel’s comin’! Just gotta stay patient! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit non-stop quality; great job! My Rating: 4.6

02. “Uzabitch” feat. Kangol Slim
>>> Beat a lil’ mo laidback, here, tho you keep tha entertainment poppin’ wit tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice wit tha singin’; nice & laidback fa a shmoke session? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds great wit how you bring it, once again…! Tha 3rd verse sounds like snacks! Yummy? Great job wit how you put it down! My Rating: 4.1

03. “Gotsta Get Paid”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ hook & beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds nice wit how you must “medicate;” I feel ya! Quickly goes to tha 2nd verse, here & it sounds nice; you’re makin’ this sound more anthemic than boring, at least… Tha rest of this pretty nice, as well; keep reppin’ tha anthems…! My Rating: 4.0

04. “In A Rush” feat. Jr. Mack
>>> Sounds nice & funky fa 2000 approachin’… That’s how I feel wit 2020 comin’, next week! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Jr. & it sounds nice wit how he flows ova this beat; good shit…! Tha hook ain’t bad, here; nice lil’ track, tho… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from you & you keepin’ this entertainment goin’; nice job… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it cool wit tha flow; a lil’ on tha catchy side… My Rating: 4.1

05. “Shake Sumthin’”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ club banga fa tha N’awlinerz, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds nice on this beat; keep tha ent. up! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice ta hear, as well; you keepin’ tha catchiness up…! Tha 3rd verse’s anotha nice verse ta continue dis shit; nice…! My Rating: 4.0

06. “Ya Baby Call Me Daddy”
>>> Ick @ tha “correctional” call; hate when I was locked up! Still, good lil’ intro ta lead inta this gangsta-soundin’ funk fa tha beat & 1st verse, here…; nice…! Hearin’ tha hook from tha chick singin’ & it sounds catchy fa this; “Daddy” luv, I guess? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good wit these rhymes; keep ‘em up! Tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear, as well; not much ta say… My Rating: 4.1

½time: Enjoy this CD a lot, despite tha ratings swayin’ from 4.0 – 4.1, mainly… This a 4.2-rated CD, so far; keep up tha heat, Tim! You know what dat catchy, street shit from tha N.O. iz!

07. “I Peeped You” feat. Storm
>>> Kickin’ it off wit Storm on tha intro, as well as tha 1st verse; sounds good, I guess? Beat sounds betta, tho, fa a regular-soundin’ beat… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds str8; all about tha peepin’… Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, as you kick it off wit “whoa nah;” nice! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it str8, as well; not bad fa this one, overall… My Rating: 3.7

08. “Oh Lord” feat. Ascheante
>>> Beat sounds good fa a slower song, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds nice ta hear, here… Tha hook ain’t fa me wit this female singin’, musically; I’d rather pray at night, before I go ta bed. Sounds like an okay verse on tha 2nd verse, as well; not much ta say… Tha outro, like, 90 seconds long, here; a lil’ too long? Nice prayin’, tho… I also must say that I’m really likin’ your idea of havin’ tha sound of tha pages turnin’, as well as writin’ in your journal; definitely nice! My Rating: 2.8

09. “They Got Us”
>>> Tha beat ain’t bad, as well as tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; feelin’ what you spittin’, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty nice wit how you continue dis… Endin’ wit an extended-soundin’ beat outro, here; nice… My Rating: 3.8

10. “Holla At Me” feat. Tre-8
>>> Feelin’ tha aggressive hook from Tre, as well as this dope hook; definitely nice!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it’s pretty dope, how you come through wit it! Also, I’m likin’ dat it sounds like a siren goin’ off in tha beat, as well; definitely nice! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from you & it’s dope, once again…! Nice “Kirk Franklin” and “dirt stankin’” lines rhymin’; good shit! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse & it’s dope; nice job keepin’ tha energy up…! My Rating: 4.5

11. “All About A Dollar”
>>> Sounds like you’re remakin’ Eric B & Rakim on tha hook, here; nice fa tha T-Smooth journal…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good wit this beat; “all about” dem freaks, I guess? Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds good wit how you continuin’ dis; nice… Tha 3rd verse sounds nice, as you keep this shit goin’; good shit… My Rating: 3.9

12. “My Nigga, My Nature” feat. Taco & Apple
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat, here, fa tha south & tha ‘90s… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds nice wit how you come through wit it… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like you’re havin’ a good time; nice job… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it’s dope wit how you continuously stay “loaded;” wish I could, right nah! Hopefully, next month! A phone call toward tha end…; nice ta hear… And, tha book closes! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Great job wit this one, Tim! Glad you turned dem pages & wrote tha shit down, ya heard me? Too bad you had ta go so soon but there’s more ta review of you, still! Stay tuned to tha future of 2020!
