Review #1,949: Boxx The Hungry Genius "HustleVeli 2: Pandemic Pressure (Hosted by Bumpy Knuckles)"

Reviewed on 11.07.2020 & 11.10.2020 (Review #1,949)

Wow, I haven’t reviewed a rap release since July 30th (& it was a throwback one, no less). For those unsure of what’s been goin’ on, I’ve been in tha process of moving & slowly investin’ in my own studio. A part of tha process iz tha file-completion process, where all tha file work I’ve been behind in over tha years/decade, I’m tryna complete. Anotha part of tha process iz tha process of plantin’ my music seeds. I started workin’ on my next album, Autistic Stoner Rap, but still not havin’ a job has been makin’ tha funds be on pause, smh. Not to mention, I’m havin’ continuous problems wit my back (& neck), at times, smh. I’m hoping to keep progressin’ at my goals, as they will take a few years to complete. Fa now, time for a new review, courtesy of Hungry Boy Records: Boxx The Hungry Genius HustleVeli 2: Pandemic Pressure (Hosted by Bumpy Knuckles); shout out ta Boxx & Knuckles, ya dig? I met up wit tha both of them on September 9th, just less than two months ago. It was great interviewin’ them, as well as kickin’ it wit them. Now, it’s time fa some Pandemic Pressure! This also tha first tyme I’m reviewin’ a release through tha B.R.U.H. app. I thought tha files would download to my phone but it’s just hosted on there. Basically, if I gon get a backup of tha files, I gon have to screen-record it through my phone & then, edit them into individual audio files, later on. That process sucks but it’s peeps like me that are rip masters… So, I gon be listenin’ thru my phone, as I type on my laptop… R.I.P. J-Dirty; today marks 12 years since our 1st phone call (3:42 AM) & while his tribute video’s takin’ hours to save, I have time to do this review, in between. With that bein’ said, why not start tha review at 3:42 PM, ya feel me? Start Time: 11.07.2020 @ 3:42 PM | End Time: 11.10.2020 @ 6:21 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Bumpy Knuckles Speaks
Producer: EQ
Time ta begin HustleVeli’s 2nd installment! >>> Sounds dope wit EQ on tha beat, as well as Bumpy Knuckles on tha intro-intro, here! Gotta luv tha energy! My Rating: N/A

02. “Pandemic Pressure (Intro)”
Producer: EQ
Like I just said, time to get it in…! >>> Sounds great wit tha hook & beat, here; definitely dope ta have EQ on tha beat!! Luv how you have a lil’ bit of a New Orleans-soundin’ flow on tha end of tha hook, as well (“I’m not dat nigga dat you heard dat just be rhymin’.”); good shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I’m diggin’ tha “quarantine […] quarantined” part. Also, aggressive, ass-kickin’ rhymes, too!! Definitely dope; luvin’ tha 2nd verse, too, especially wit this “lion” part! Boxx, you are tha “lion” that tha world gotta analyze b4 pettin’, ya dig?! My Rating: 4.9

03. “Faith Cry” feat. Samuel Maurice
Producer: Lil’ TRB On The Beat
Haven’t been in tha groove of listenin’ to too many new tracks, as of lately. Got ta hear a lil’ bit of this, courtesy of tha Hungry Boy team & it sounded good. It’s just, I need a productive source (e.g., working at a job, like I previously did) to ease into addin’ more music to my playlist, again. Fa now, here goes tha full review… >>> Sounds like a dope lil’ beat & 1st verse wit you, here… I feel what you sayin’ about tha “hide emotions” shit, when it comes to this “COVID” shit… Also, “should they shmoke & pass,” as far as tha virus goin’ on? Well, hell-fuckin’-yeah, in my opinion! Like, look at all tha Louisianimals I done been around & I ain’t get a sign of nothin’, ya dig?! Always gotta “shmoke” dat good! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds cool wit Samuel singin’ fa you, “pandemic” style; good shit! “Parallel over paper,” on tha 2nd verse from you, here; gotta dig it! Consistent-ass rhymes; definitely tha quality sound of tha ‘80s babies in our 30’s, ya dig? I like how you ended tha verse wit “Sam, wake up tha churches” & then, a lil’ bit of a bridge b4 tha final hook, ya heard? My Rating: 4.4

04. “Blinded By Ambition”
Producer: Wild Yella
Haven’t seen Yella’s name pop up tha whole past decade but now, hoppin’ from ‘00s to ‘20s, let’s see what Yella cooked up fa a Hungry Boxx, lol… >>> Sounds like somethin’ NLE Choppa would put out… I mean, it’s cool that you have a lil’ bit of a voice effect on your voice, here, though tha previous two tracks seem to have more of a power that I’d feel more… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good wit your normal voice. Actually, I feel tha both voices combined fa this one; your rhymes keep tha heat up! Keep dat “pen & pad,” ya heard me? Luv while I’m high, especially nappin’ wit edibles in my system & then, my mind generates somethin’ awesome! I jot tha thoughts down fa my upcomin’ music ideas; stay tuned, soon! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty vicious! Luvin’ how you continuously give ‘em tha works; definitely a plus! “Gifted” at its finest!! This turned out ta be much betta than I thought it would be; good shit! Shout out ta PK1 on tha outro, here…! My Rating: 4.7

05. “All Bets On Me”
Producer: Like O
Not too often do I do just individual song reviewz, instead of CD/mixtape/album reviewz. However, this one took tha cake, on December 16, 2019, while I was on house arrest. Though a live review version was released that day, here’s tha review in text form:

Yeah, Like O! Sounds like a cool lil’ new anthem fa Mr. 225 himself! Feelin’ how he feelin’ tha luuuuuuuucccck, like tha Lucky Dog like me! Nice job on tha hook; definitely feelin’ your energy! Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse and you got a lotta consistent, fast-soundin’ rappin’ goin’ on; nice! “My grindin’ retawded; I’m cookoo;” yup! Been “cookoo” since ’07 wit tha “Full Throttle” dayz! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, Boxx, you Hungry Genius! I will end this decade off wit this one & open up wit it on my playlist; stay tuned! So much ta devour, here! “A pint of lean,” huh, Boxx? You gettin’ me jealous, now! Five months clean; don’t I look sarcastically happy?! Smh, but nice job wit what you brought to tha 2nd verse! Set tha chip on Boxx, as you say after tha 3rd hook; nice job! Nice job wit this outro, too; props fa makin’ a comeback!

To add: Shout out ta PK1 on tha intro & I hope that I neva have ta be “clean” in my life, again!! Those times were times that made me stronger, tho I try not to reminisce or remember those times, ya feel me?! Lol, PK1 really inta these “bets!” My Current Rating: 4.8

06. “Dem Bandz Go”
Producer: EQ
Though I don’t fuck wit rap that’s all about “bandz, bandz, bandz,” I feel like you’re an exception, here. Well, we’ll see when I hear it (even tho wit EQ, that should tell me it’s a go, already)… >>> A lil’ bit of a slower sound from EQ on tha beat, here; let’s see how you do on tha track, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds great wit tha way you deliver tha aggressive, consistent rhymes; can’t deny ‘em! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds cool fa somethin’ simple. Like, no matter tha “bandz,” I already know that Hungry Boy Records official wit it! Like, Bumpy Knuckles got me fulla dem edibles—tha only outlet in BR fa me, so far! Lol, Johnny Hu$tle was thrown off by that chocolate piece I had, lol… Anyway, hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds dope wit how you keepin’ this shit on lock; can’t deny what you bring! Glad I can take time out fa this review, ta listen ta this mixtape & fa me ta be able ta show da luv I can show, in this YoungBoy’d world of 2020…! Lol, a “money dance” on tha outro, too? Funny ta say that I’m feelin’ how you comin’ wit this “dance,” lol… My Rating: 4.3

07. “Metaphor Macking” feat. Howard Hall & Drea K
Producer: Deadly Soundz
Props fa hookin’ up wit 2 Saint & tha Deadly Soundz crew fa this one; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ you turn up, again! >>> Slowin’ down wit this sound, here…; sounds like quality, slow music, though it coulda been toward tha end of tha mixtape? Then again, iz this y’all definition of a breather from all tha recent energy? Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it sounds great wit how you comin’ through wit tha unique rhymes, as always… Whether it’s aggressive or in a shmart way, you know how ta come through wit it! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s mainly just a lil’ bit of talkin’ & tha features holdin’ down tha background vocals? Not bad but without a hook on a track like this, it does look like it falls behind your previous vibes… Lol @ tha ending wit tha “my dick iz two inches… from tha flo, hoe!” Well, I said, “Ending,” tho you & PK1 on tha outro; good shit. Also, tha site, http://vote4boxx.com – “ah, you know!” My Rating: 3.6

08. “Boxx & DJ PK1 Cypher”
Gon get it in…! >>> Goin’ from “0 To 100” on this one, here? Though I’m like, “Fuck tha jacked beats,” this sounds nice wit how you comin’ through wit tha consistent rhymes… Tha 2nd beat switched to a Mod Productions beat, huh? Sounds good wit how you keepin’ it goin’…! Also, them northeast beats? Feelin’ your non-stop energy, here; I’ll give you tha props… My Rating: 4.2

09. “Letter To Boosie”
Producer: Boundless Beats
I’ono; I kinda fucks wit “Boosie,” tho I’ve always been for tha underdog… >>> Interestin’ way ta write, record & rap this poetry, here; nice…! I like how you mention “spit” & “I know about saliva,” lol; great way ta represent your “spit” (raps)! Nice that you have this connection wit “Boosie,” as I have a connection like this wit his cousin, Doe-Doe; definitely feelin’ tha channeled energy…! Still, these tracks with no hooks don’t really spark too much excitement fa me, overall. Like, if they’re gonna have no hooks, just be a 16; that’s all you need. I like how you end tha track off wit tha way you close a letter; good shit… My Rating: 3.5

½time: “Ah, you know” what it iz, Boxx! A 4.3-rated release, so far; good shit! Luvin’ tha production & ear you have fa beats, here! Good shit, especially wit tha aggression & how you put your all inta this shit! Glad we been connected since tha 1st day I shmoked weed, back on March 5, 2009! Keep tha heat goin’ wit your passion, aggression, wisdom & tha appetite fa success!!

10. “On Purpose” feat. Max Minelli
Producer: Beat Bangerz
Looks like a dope collab, here… Max may’ve said he “retired,” tho I feel like he (as well as yourself) would be great for my upcomin’ mega BR collab. Like, two barz; that’s all I want! Can’t wait till that moment comes but fa now… >>> Party like it’s 2009, again? “I’m swaggin’, I’m surfin’;” tho a corny tyme fa me—despite me 1st talkin’ ta you that year—it beats tha jail, YoungBoy, not-working tymes of 2019, tho! Like, a Nu$$ie-Dead year was better than a year?! Yuck…!! I’ll take 2020 over 2019 anyday; I mean dat!! Anyway, cool hook & tha beat pretty nice from tha BBz… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & I’m feelin’ how you always drop tha quality rhymes, ya heard me? Got Max on tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty dope wit how his brain works; good shit from a 41-year-old like him! Hope he realize he ain’t old! I’ll be that age wit you in 2029 & best believe, we’ll still be providin’ dat passion! Wit that bein’ said, great job, Max; glad you fucks wit Boxx & Knuckles! A 3rd verse from Boxx, here, comin’ through wit mo consistentness! So much ta devour, ya dig?! My Rating: 4.0

11. “Get No Pass” feat. General Mark
Producer: EQ
Let’s get it in wit dis one…! >>> Gotta luv EQ’s beat intros; they creep in slowly & then, “da-da-da-da-da-daaa!!” Definitely feelin’ this hook; luvin’ how you won’t let your enemies & frienemies in! That’s how I feel, nowadayz! Like, if any1 crosses me wrong wit dat fake shit, they gotta pay $100.00 ta re-enter my life, ya heard me? Got tha 1st verse from Mark, here & it’s pretty dope on this EQ beat; definitely nice shit! Luvin’ what y’all comin’ through wit, here; definitely what da bidness iz! I know I gon have you on my mega BR collab, Boxx, but I have a brilliant idea fa a collab we can do. Hmm…, anotha idea that no1 has eva done, b4? Wait till you hear what I have in stores…! Until then, here you are on tha 2nd verse & you’re comin’ through wit some good street shit, as well as your unique, shmart rhymes…! Also, not sure if you catch my words that start wit “SM” but since Bobby Shmurda came on to tha scene six years ago, I’ve been spellin’ “SM” words as “SHM”, especially “shmoke,” ya heard me? Got a 3rd verse from you, here & it’s pretty dope; glad you keepin’ tha energy & rhymes comin’! An unstoppable Boxx!! Seems a lil’ long fa 2020 standards but at least there’s 100% quality in what y’all bring, here…! “Slow feet don’t eat!” Also, props on tha “Tony Knuckles” shout-out, toward tha end…! My Rating: 4.7

12. “Popular Loner” feat. B. Powell
Producer: EQ
How will this one rank vs. tha other EQ Tha Misfit productions? >>> EQ goin’ wit a high-pitch vocal sample in tha beginning, here…; hmm… Hearin’ tha hook from this Powell dude & his name looks like a singer, rather than a rapper? Decent rhymes on tha hook but then, tha creepy sound of his voice comes out wit tha singin’… I have ta say, that’s a good combo, regardless of how I feel about it. Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it’s pretty dope; your consistency of tha rhymes goes ham!! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse & it’s nice wit how you keep these rhymes goin’. Like, I definitely dig how you don’t take a breath…! Then again, that’s tha better style of recording? Like, record one line at a tyme? I think so… My Rating: 4.1

13. “With All Due Respect (Middlechild Freestyle)”
Goin’ wit a freestyle fa this one? Thought those dayz were kinda dead, especially when you have to buy err-body’s music, these dayz? Like, Spotify, not DatPiff? >>> Of course, you sound great wit your rhymes & aggression, here. However, after spendin’ $100’s & $1,000’s on recording, beats & features, like, why waste tha time, energy & money on a jacked beat? Either way, I like that line, “I’m dope like a cocoa leaf;” huh bruh! Just know that when I review these jointz, everythang comes inta play. Like, you may be a 5.0 wit your rhymes & aggression but if tha beat ain’t fa me/a jacked beat, it gon mix in wit my overall rating, ya feel me? So, if this looks like it ain’t that great, it’s not what you may think. Also, prolly coulda kept this down ta 120 seconds, rather than 3:00+, since it’s a freestyle. Once again, great, consistent rhymes but spend anotha paycheck on an EQ beat, wink, wink! My Rating: 3.2

14. “The Box (Freestyle)”
Lol; I’ono, Fredo Bang already had his share wit this one, earlier in tha year… >>> Sounds like you’re havin’ fun, here, but once again, this shoulda cost you $0.00 ta come up with. Like, please tell me you put less than a penny inta this, no offense…? Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds like you suffocated tha “The Box”, Boxx (tha beat), lol (how you like those double words & titles)… I like how you rhyme “Nipsey” & all those words wit “E”…(er, lol), at tha end of tha lines…! Yeah, shout out ta “Tony,” sayin’ that “no one can fuck wit you!” Glad he have tha both of our backs! “My mind iz equipped wit a lotta equipment;” huh bruh…! Once again, just like wit tha J Cole jacked beat, this applies tha same way. My Rating: 3.1

15. “Hidden Gems” feat. Big Head Da Dome Doctor
Producer: Beat Bangerz
Goin’ wit Big Head’s full stage name, here (Big Head Da Dome Doctor)… Also, diggin’ your titles; they ring “Genius,” in your name! >>> Finally, back ta tha original beats & a nice feature, here! Feelin’ tha hook, here; y’all do a great job! Tha 2nd ½ of tha hook sounds like a “hidden” singer? Either way, cool lil’ track, so far… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it’s pretty nice; you don’t stop wit your “lyrical monster” shit! Keep it up!! Glad Big Head still keepin’ his “Out The Mud Entertainment” goin’, just as he shouted out b4 tha 2nd verse came in…! Head comin’ through wit his 42-year-old quality, here; definitely nice! Hope he realize he don’t age, as well! I like passin’ through Brice Street in BR, too; hope tha two of us link up, one day! I’ll neva forget tha 1st tyme he talked ta me, nine years ago: “You sound like you’re fulla dem quaaludes,” lol! That was even b4 my 1st high, too! Can’t imagine what edibles sounds like ta him, in 2020, lol…! Keepin’ this shit goin’ wit you on tha 3rd verse, here, strictly infectin’ tha hood wit your “chameleon venom,” I may call it (aggression, wisdom & consistency)! My Rating: 4.5

16. “They Hate It” feat. Samuel Maurice
Producer: A-One Productions
“Ah, you know!” >>> Sounds like a cool lil’ 2nd collab from tha two of y’all, here… Surprised ta say that I like tha “Faith Cry” collab betta but this still nice… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it cool; glad you wise, no matter tha tyme! Lol @ “lawn chairs on Labor Day,” as far as a folding reference; of all dayz, lol. Then again, you picked a “day” I’ve been in Louisiana twice, so I guess that’s a good reference, lol? Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice, of course; you keep tha non-stop consistency goin’! No1 can hold up ta you, lyrically! Just always keep it fun, fa tha streetz, fa tha shmokers, fa tha clubs & fa tha peeps like myself, ya heard me? PK, are you hypin’ me up fa tha next track on here…? My Rating: 3.9

17. “Turning Lane”
Producer: Like O
Anotha one fa Mr. O, here…; let’s get it!! >>> Oh boy, sounds like a slow track fa tha bitches…? A hidden-featured singer on tha hook, here? Despite “shmokin’ high dro,” on tha hook, this sounds like a hook that ain’t really that special fa me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it sounds cool; I feel what you bringin’ wit tha rhymes, once again. Might not be tha best-soundin’ track on this mixtape but it ain’t somethin’ I can hate on, fully… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds nice wit how you got it on lock fa tha bitches, here. Just know to keep an eye on tha population, ya dig? That means, if you gon have more kids, don’t let ‘em fuck up your career, ya feel me? My Rating: 3.3

18. “Forgiven” feat. 2 Chainz & Marsha Ambrosius
Producer: Dem Jointz
Endin’ it with…, um…, a mainstream feature? Secretly, a jacked-beat track ta end it off? *B.R.U.H. app stops playing* Oh wait, I guess it’s actually somethin’ jacked, due to it not bein’ on tha app? I’ono if this iz a blessing in disguise fa your scores, Boxx? I have a feelin’ it iz, due to tha ID. With that bein’ said, I’m just gonna leave this one as an uncounted, unrated track, until I hear it…
11.10.2020 EDIT: Found tha mixtape on YouTube; let’s give this one a listen… >>> Sounds nice wit tha beginning in where you reference “feelin’ paralyzed,” when it came to tha death of “Nipsey;” I feel dat. Rhymes are definitely A+, wit how you come through wit tha consistent lyrics. However, once again, this just a lil’ freestyle-soundin’ track, so I have to rate it how I rate it, overall. Tha hook kinda boring & sad-soundin’; coulda just left this one at one verse… Regardless, here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit tha dope lyrics, once again. Still, couldn’t’ve used these lyrics/energy on an original beat? Tha outro sounds rough wit how you experienced goin’ over to a house ta hear about “congestive heart failure;” *sigh*. It’s like, wit me, eva since my brother died, it’s almost as if sadness & depressin’ vibes shouldn’t exist; we’re stronger than that…! My Rating: 2.7

Overall: I have ta say, Boxx, awesome job wit what you brought to tha table, here! Eleven years ago, you made a song wit Gates called “Came A Long Way” & though you’ve always had tha spark in tha undaground, Louisiana game, you know your presence done “Came A Long Way”, like your ’09 track! Like I may’ve said, if this entire mixtape woulda been all fulla original beats, you coulda had yourself a full feast of me 100% appreciatin’ tha vibes. Then again, you must please err-body & I know how dat be… Either way, keep tha passion alive! You know your worth; keep bei’ valuable!

Review #1,300: Percy Keith "Compliments Of Luca Brasi (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl)"

Reviewed on 7.04.2013 (Review #1,300)

Up next, Bread Winners Association’s Percy Keith Compliments Of Luca Brasi (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl)… I’m walkin’ into unknown territory, here, so I dunno what to expect. Start Time: 9:35 PM | End Time: 10:19 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

© 2013 CD Review (Review #1,300) reviewed on 7.04.2013 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Intro”
Produced by EQ. >>> Nice intro from DJ Ya Boy Earl… He wasn’t listed as a host, but I gon put that he’s hosting this CD… Anyway, this sounds good, but you sound too much like Kevin Gates. Finally, no beat tag in an EQ beat; that’s tha way it should be, with tha back cover sayin’ who produced it! Also, gotta mention that tha beat sounds nice and interestin’… Anotha good part from Earl, outta nowhere; great voice ta host/DJ… Here you are on tha 2nd verse, still wit a Kevin Gates sound, but I like tha paranoid/intensity in your voice! Yes, an outro to Earl. SMH @ “mixtape;” when will people put albums out?! My Rating: 4.2

02. “Deep Cover”
Dr. Dre production? You mean, jacked beat? >>> Yea, no need for tha producer listed, here! Earl on tha intro again; gotta luv him! Sounds a lil’ different wit tha voice, at times, but you still got some Gates in you… Rhymes are nice, but because of Gates, I’m not diggin’ this random fast-rappin’ shit, outta nowhere… Despite not likin’ all tha fast deliveries, I’ll give this a better rating ‘cause of how good tha rhymes were. My Rating: 4.3

03. “Soldier Hatin’” Feat. Flow & Christian Radke
EQ beat, again. SMH, why does tha ID on tha mp3 say, “YMCMB”? Now, I could prolly care less about this! >>> Why tha beat tag, this time? This beat doesn’t sound Louisiana at all, smh… Tha 1st verse sounds very mainstream wit this beat; no interest… Uh, after tha gay-soundin’ vocals on tha hook, I just am skippin’ this! Got no time! I’d rather masturbate! My Rating: 1.0

04. “I’m Nasty”
Boo on tha production; looks anticipatin’… >>> Nice and creepy sound wit this beat; interestin’ production! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and tha rhymes are just okay… Tha hook sounds catchy; I can hear your Kevin Gates influence (or dickriding) in it, but I like it. Tha 2nd verse also sounds okay, fa me… Despite some of my negative feedback, I’m feelin’ this one a lot… My Rating: 4.4

05. “Clutchin’” Feat. Blvd Mel & Banger
A Turn Up beat; not sure who that iz… >>> Nice intro from Earl! However, tha beat sounds nothin’ like Louisiana, so it must be jacked or whateva… Tha hook sounds okay; let’s see how this continues… That was tha 1st verse? Now, tha hook? Sounds betta wit tha “jungle.” Tha 2nd verse must be you, with all these random references… Catchy; I can’t deny it… Tha 3rd verse sounds nice, too… Outro from Earl! My Rating: 4.0

06. “The Business”
Heisman beat; nice connection… >>> Still, why tha beat tag, smh? Tha flow’s aight, but it’s soundin’ a lil’ mainstream, mixed wit other peoples’ sound. This beat ain’t too bad, but now that tha hook came on, it sounds real catchy… Nice and short, tha way you can provide, quickly! My Rating: 4.2

07. “Hoes”
No producer listed, so it must be jacked… >>> Ehh, “Girls, Girls, Girls,” smh… At least it’s short and not no five-minute shit that others provide… Nice hook wit tha “hoes, hoes, hoes,” instead of, “girls, girls, girls.” Nice X-rated shit, Kardashian style, lol. My Rating: 4.0

½time: Other than #3, this sounds like a catchy CD, and you sound like a real catchy artist… Because of #3, tha CD rating iz only at a 3.7, so far, but I’m likin’ it betta…

08. “Guns N Roses”
Guss beat. >>> Between tha okay beat, it sounds like a good lyrical start in tha life of Percy Keith! By being born in 1984, I hope you gon do good business wit me… Tha hook sounds catchy; good title… My Rating: 3.9

09. “Free Boosie” Feat. Donkey
EQ beat; ??? @ tha title… Donkey not listed on tha back cover… >>> What? A Lil’ Wayne sample and he cares about “Boosie”? No way!! Boosie a Louisiana artist; Wayne a poor example of reppin’ Louisiana!! “I’m on my feet, like a big toe;” ironic you said dat ‘cause I’m rubbin’ my “big toe” against one of my other toes ‘cause there’s skin around it (biting nails, get it?)… Hearin’ this Donkey dude on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds nice and Louisiana… Despite a dude dying or not, I can’t imagine a dude crying ova anotha dude! I’ve neva cried over a death… Then again, 25 years in, and I’ve neva had a friend I’ve known in person die. My Rating: 3.8

10. “NY Here I Come”
Bet you won’t come ta Long Island! Boo beat… >>> Good start; doesn’t sound like Boo at all, on tha beat… But, it has an interestin’ sound to it… Hearin’ a lotta ‘90s “NY” rap quotes in tha 1st verse, here… From Biggie, to Wu-Tang, to Digable Planets, to “ODB,” to “Roxanne,” to Big Pun, to Nas, to Public Enemy, to “Queen Latifah,” The Furious Five, and more! My Rating: 4.1

11. “9’s” Feat. JR
Guss beat. >>> Catchy beat; interestin’ hook wit tha “cleaned ova.” Oh, thank God, this iz a different JR on tha 1st verse (“JR Johnson”)! I thought I had to skip tha verse, due to personal reasons! But, this JR dude sounds catchy; nice lil’ Louisiana sound in tha voice! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, and it’s soundin’ slightly-Gates-y… “Bitch, I’d rather masturbate;” lol, glad we’re on tha same level wit masturbating, lol! Tha JR dude’s back on tha 3rd verse? Good sound, once again… My Rating: 4.1

12. “My Nigga” Feat. Money Boi
Red On The Track beat; looks like a whammy with tha feature, for me… >>> Beat doesn’t sound too Louisiana fa me… “Kevin ain’t gon change fa me;” why he ain’t on this CD? What’s up wit tha censored dude’s name on tha 2nd verse? Kinda makes an imagination go wild… Either way, iz this tha Money Boi? Looks like it’s anotha win for me! I thought I had ta skip anotha verse, but it’s good… Either way, I don’t approve of anyone’s name with “money” in it! More Money on tha 3rd verse? My Rating: 3.7

13. “Stories”
Decky Boy beat; 2011 beat? >>> Decky Boy? More like Rihanna “Unfaithful”? Odd that a dead rapper/producer would be mixed with “Unfaithful”… Anyway, despite tha jacked beat, this iz okay; not really for me, though. I like how you mentioned you bein’ born in “1984” on tha 2nd verse, though. My Rating: 1.7
EDIT: I randomly was harassed by someone tryna steal Decky Boy's name. For those that don't know who tha real Decky Boy iz, it's this dude, who passed away two years ago:

14. “Let’s Fight” Feat. Wild Yella & Show
Not sure how good this gon be wit tha features and with no producer listed… >>> Nice intro from Ya Boy Earl, despite it bein’ a bonus track… Likin’ tha hook; sounds nice and hype… If only tha beat was a lil’ more hype, this would be real nice… Tha 1st verse sounds good; Shreveport at its finest… Good job, Yella… Must be Show on tha 2nd verse, here; good “fighting” perspective… Let’s get to tha 3rd verse… You sound good; it’s an okay verse… My Rating: 3.9

Overall: I have to say, for hearin’ a whole CD of yours for tha first time, I thought it went over pretty well. There were two wack jointz, but other than that, this turned out to be good! CD rating’s average, due to those two wack jointz, but there’s plenty of good jointz on this mixtape!

Review #918: TreDay Presents "Louisiana's Time (Part 2)"

Reviewed on 3.28.2011 (Review #918)

Afta a buffet wit Alexia and class, I’m continuin’ fa today: Review #11 for today iz TreDay Presents “Louisiana’s Time (Part 2). Start Time: 9:36 PM | End Time: 10:05 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. HardHead “Intro”
>>> Nice, Southern voice, here; good intro. My Rating: N/A

02. Big Duke Feat. Lil’ Gangsta “Gett’n My Bleek On”
Kinda looks WTF? >>> Even on a beat when he was alive—like, way before he died. Nothin’ really special, here; could’ve picked a betta beat—maybe original? Guess this iz not Lil’ Ganggsta (wit two “G”s) on tha feature; anotha disappointment. My Rating: 2.7

03. Big Duke Feat. Lil’ Gangsta “Real Go Getta”
Damn, same artists already? :confused >>> Y’all sound good on this beat; a lil’ betta than tha previous song… My Rating: 3.5

04. Big 2 “I Can’t Feel My Face”
LOL, I wonder how dis gon sound? >>> Yes, entertainin’; thumbs up! Gotta lol at how drugs don’t get old and control people’s lives; wonder how, lol? My Rating: 4.1

05. Big Wayne “Big Wayne (Speaks)”
:tu >>> Shit yea; he did a drop fa me, too. I interviewed him fa my radio show, too, and when he said this compilation’s title, I almost thought he said my radio show’s name, lol! My Rating: N/A

06. Dee Note “Monster (Freestyle)”
>>> This beat sounds a lil’ quiet; thank God tha freestylin’ iz real wit an attitude and catchy rhymes! Some of tha freestyles I’ve heard recently sound so awful dat people think regular rappin’ iz freestylin’! Uh, no; it’s all about tha catchy rhymes, punchlines, quickness, consistentness, and tightness!! My Rating: 4.6

07. Del G Feat. P.Wowleone & D.Cook “Way Off The Meter”
>>> This iz a decent song/somewhat-good club song, overall. My Rating: 4.0

08. D Ron “Just Groove”
Likin’ all tha unknown artists; makes things anticipatin’ and in a competition, lol. >>> Good job handlin’ this beat, whether I don’t like “groove” content or not! Tha rhymes put you in a good club mood; thumbs up, here. My Rating: 4.2

09. H2 “Hatin’”
H2? >>> Sounds like Shell (Young Thugga) in tha intro, which has me a lil’ anticipated! Ooh, some rapid rappin’; nice job… This sounds like a good anthem fa tha “haters;” givin’ this one props, includin’ some catchy rhymes from this H2 dude. My Rating: 4.1

10. Hard Head Feat. Fred Loc & Big 2 “Beat It Like Mike”
SMH @ this title, too! >>> ‘Posed ta be catchy but this izn’t my kinda song, at all. I’m sure this wouldn’t’ve been made if Michael Jackson was alive! My Rating: 3.0

½time: 3.8 for tha CD rating, currently; ehh, not bad but I like tha unknown artists!

11. Hatch Boy Feat. Beezy Boy “Street Shit”
Damn, I thought dat said my boy Beezy Bird on tha feature! >>> Regardless, this “street shit” iz what’s up; can’t deny it, Bad Azz Ent. style! Very consistent wit all these rhymes; definitely good ta have Hatch Boy doin’ tha damn thang, here!! How will this new Beezy Boy, not wit TruBlu Records, do? Lemme hear… I think he should get a different name; there’s already a Beezy B and a Beezy Boy. I’m thinkin’, how ‘bout Beezy Bee (spelled like dat)? Good “street shit” from him, too! My Rating: 4.4

12. HB “HB (Speaks)”
HB or H2? Two different people? >>> Good check-in… My Rating: N/A

13. HB “Baddest Nigga In The Game”
Guess it’s someone else? >>> Sounds pretty tight wit tha voice/attitude! Very consistent, almost like N.O.R.E., here!! My Rating: 4.4

14. Lil’ Boosie Feat. B.G. “You Don’t Wanna”
Just heard dis today and it’s definitely some tight shit! My Current Rating: 4.5

15. Lil’ Quick Feat. Money Bagz & B.G. “Baby Rocket”
Not sure if I heard dis song? >>> Yea, I did, from tha “Double Trouble” CD; definitely nice!!! My Current Rating: 4.5

16. Lil’ Quick Feat. Money Bagz “We Go Boosie”
Did I hear dis? >>> It sounds familiar but I guess not; DJ B-Real doin’ tha beat, here. LOL, this song’s pretty entertainin’; you know how Quick does it!! What’s up wit all tha volume-snappin’ goin’ on within this mp3 file? My Rating: 4.3

17. Plies “28 Grams”
>>> Why tha hell iz this dude here? Ain’t this shit fake? Not payin’ attention… My Rating: 3.4

18. Tutor Babi “Fine From Behind”
Somebody’s a “tutor”, lol? >>> Sounds good, in a way, for a start, wit tha hook; tha repetitiveness in whateva this sample iz sounds good. Tha rhymes are dedicated ta this chick, soundin’ consistent. My Rating: 4.2

19. Wild Yella Feat. Lil’ Polk “Let’s Get High”
Nice subject but can they make somethin’ good outta somethin’ good? >>> Almost got scared wit tha voice but it’s not tha worst; some credit but some deduction, too. LOL @ there only bein’ one verse, here? Prolly would’ve expected longer fa a “high” song. But, overall, not that bad… My Rating: 3.7

20. Wild Yella Feat. Young Show & Tutor Babi “Fight The Security”
LOL @ this attitude! >>> Even though I’d neva do this, this iz a catchy song; where does this attitude come from? I do like tha verses and this iz definitely on a Southern tip, tha way I like it!! My Rating: 4.5

21. Big 2 “Outro”
>>> Damn, they used tha beat from 334 MO.B.B. “Space Age Pimpin’ 2005”? :confused Should’ve just left dat fa them, since it’s their song. But, good outro—oh, Boosie’s rappin’ toward tha end; was it his song, first? My Rating: N/A

Overall: Sounded like a good mixtape compilation, overall!

01. “I Get Retarded” Feat. Lil’ Polkk
>>> Sounds good; gangstas in dat 318! I thought tha hook would be delivered in a, more-hyped-up way, but tha content iz what’s up, here. My Rating: 4.2

02. “Feeling Good”
>>> Well, this iz a skip for me! My Rating: 1.0

03. “My Club” Feat. Lil’ Polkk
>>> Sounds good, once again; lol, “(your) club!” Tha “my club” shit sounds like “I’m Feeling Myself” wit tha repeatin’ of tha title; like dis formula! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Wet” Feat. Big Fifty
>>> Nice production for tha start; how will dis go? This iz decent; I guess tha “wet” iz more on tha gangsta tip (guns) than tha female tip (sex), lol. Tha collaboration iz good, too; y’all ready fa some action! My Rating: 4.2

05. “Where She At” Feat. Reio & Stay Fokus
SMH, tha back cover doesn’t list all tha features? >>> Good song fa tha hoes, here. Definitely Southern, here, wit tha way tha features sound wit their deliveries and voices. “I’m fulla drink;” iz there a reason why people just shout dat out outta nowhere? How ‘bout, “I’m drinkin’ grape juice;” how dat sound? Overall, nice job wit dis jam. My Rating: 4.1

06. “Pussy-Ass Rapper” Feat. Lil’ Uzey
>>> Talk about an attitude—in tha words, lol. Definitely anger, here; I’m glad tha anger grows, here and there! My Rating: 4.4

07. “I’m So Loaded” Feat. Lil’ Polkk
>>> Kinda on a decent level; thought it would be better… My Rating: 3.7

08. “Do It Dumb” Feat. Lil’ Uzey
>>> Again, feelin’ tha X-rated approach, once again. Nice job wit collaboratin’, too. My Rating: 3.9

09. “Streets Waiting” Feat. Big Fifty
>>> Not payin’ too much attention ta dis thanx to tha hook; okay verses… My Rating: 1.7

10. “Ciroc & Purp” (Big Fifty)
>>> What a way to ruin a title; I guess I should neva drink? My Rating: 1.1

½time: A couple shitty jointz, resultin’ in an okay mixtape of 3.3 for tha CD rating.

11. “Bedroom” Feat. Big Fifty
>>> What tha fuck??? My Rating: 1.0

12. “Ya Man Can’t”
>>> Entertainin’, in a way; nice job, guys. My Rating: 3.6

13. “Fresh”
>>> Sorry, I don’t suck dick; my bad if dat’s my personal preference. My Rating: 1.0

14. “Some 4 Dem Hataz”
>>> This iz aight…; I like tha gangsta perspective. My Rating: 3.5

15. “Pay Attention”
>>> Pretty-good for a short song; not much ta say… My Rating: 3.0

16. “BMF (Freestyle)” Feat. Lil’ Polkk
Oh, no? >>> Of course, tha flow sucks; Rick Ross should get tha hell away from tha scene, or yet, tha South, ‘cause he ain’t Southern to me, anymore. Overall, this iz decent/not for me. My Rating: 2.5

17. “Pussy, Weed & Alcohol (Remix)” Feat. Big Fifty
>>> “Remix”? I’ll put it in tha ID… Anyway, was gonna enjoy dis but I can’t. My Rating: 1.2

18. “The Greatest”
>>> Real short wit tha length and not much interest fa me… My Rating: 2.6

19. “Boss Mode” Feat. Lil’ Polkk
Part 1 of 2 wit tha bonuses… >>> Sounds like a regular, mainstream song for tha South; nothin’ fa me ta say… My Rating: 2.9

20. “My Nigga” (Lil’ Polkk)
Tha 2nd bonus, wit only Lil’ Polkk on tha track… >>> Ending it wit normal/good production? “Smokin’ fa my nigga dat’s gone;” why do people “smoke” or drink fa people dat are dead? What does it do? Really? Anyway, good/decent joint, overall. Damn, good thing I heard tha hook so I could take my 3.6 rating and decrease it!! My Rating: 2.1

Overall: Thanx to A-Tune, this became shitty; people still usin’ dat shit durin’ Late ‘10/’11? Damn, get wit tha times, already!!
