FTLD Presents "Baton Rouge Jackin' 4 Trax"

I made this video in honor of Lafayette, LA producer, Mikki Gunz's birthday, today.

Bein' a Louisiana supporter since October 11, 2007, I done been around a lot of history. Some history I've been around includes what I like to call "jackin' 4 trax," where someone makes a track & then, a similar new track iz made by someone else.

Tha examples I talk about include:
• T-Lo "All Day" (2007) vs. Derty feat. Lil' Boosie "Uh Oh" (2008)
• Ville Boyz "Straight Stupid" (2009) vs. Lil' Phat & Webbie "Roof" (2010)
• Killa McClain & Hollyhood Bay Bay "It's Up There" (2020) vs. WNC Whop Bezzy "It's Up" (2020)

"All Day" & "Uh Oh" were both produced by Shonta;
"Straight Stupid" & "Roof" were both produced by DJ B-Real;
"It's Up There" & "It's Up" were both produced by Mikki Gunz.

Yesterday, which was tha day b4 Mikki Gunz's birthday, Baton Rouge underground rapper, WNC Whop Bezzy, dropped tha new track, "It's Up". However, throughout this year, Louisiana's Killa McClain & Hollyhood Bay Bay already had tha radioz & streetz buzzin' wit "It's Up There". I had already been supportin' "It's Up There" fa a minute, includin' that I have an upcoming commercial series promoting tha track comin' up on Sunday, November 1st. I felt that by Whop Bezzy doin' what he did behind "It's Up There"'s back had to be advised.

Review #1,926: DJ Tremon "Hottest In The City 9"

Reviewed on 3.11.2020 (Review #1,926)

It’s here!! DJ Tremon Hottest In The City 9 review, by FrankieThaLuckyDog! M.O.B. Entertainment in tha buildin’, you bastards!! Finna get inta dis! Got work later tonight, so I gon get fulla dat shmoke fa dis review & then, them edibles ta make it through tha rest of tha night; gotta keep goin’! Can’t wait ta see what a high Hottest In The City review gon be like…! A commercial series promotin’ this edition of Hottest In The City may be on tha way; we’ll see how this goes…! Also, like tha cover says, this a dedication ta Mofo Shots (R.I.P.); can’t believe he passed. Photog-Editors like him & I do so much fa tha Louisiana scene; gotta keep strivin’ & grindin’! Start Time: 6:00 PM | End Time: 7:33 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2020 CD Review (Review #1,926) reviewed on 3.11.2020 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Mofo “Hollywood Emotions”
I’ll admit: I can’t even think of tha last time I did a Louisiana review, where I didn’t type out tha whole tracklist, 1st. That’s tha way my reviewz should be, though it’s been years (prolly since, like, three years ago, with Da Real Gee Money’s G-Code)…! Now, let’s have some of that excitement back, as I prepare for tha BIG day, tha day after Spring starts!! >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ dedication track…; him, here, on tha rappin’? Prolly…? Just usin’ my imagination, I guess, for now…? Originally, I wouldn’t think it would be my kinda track but I feel somethin’ special about it? I guess it’s tha shmoked-high…? That soulful singin’ & tha crazy/consistent-ass rappin’/southern vibe…!! My Rating: 4.7
EDIT: I finally looked & found tha back cover, seein’ that it went from a not-identified artist to Mofo! Nice!

02. Mofo “Cookies”
Here he go (officially or leadin’ up to?)…! >>> Not like tha previous song, as my imagination was somewhere on Cloud 9 or somethin’, lol… Either way, this dope wit tha voice, tripped-out feel & consistent rappin’ fa tha south, in its own way from tha 1st song…! Glad he was a multi-media dude, like myself (I self-coined “Multi-Media Master,” as one of my titles, due to graduatin’ wit my Masters in Production, eight years ago)! My Rating: 4.6

03. Fredo Bang “The Box (Freestyle)”
As a nice way ta follow-up all his other music, I look forward ta exactly knowin’ how what his “Box” look like…! >>> Lol…! This iz so fucked up… (in such a great way); luv how he mimics tha original, wit his own “Box” story! A Baton Rouge-felt Fredo! I believe he my favorite, wit NLE Chop! However, for tha undaground, … “______” (that’s a special/better choice)! My Rating: 4.8

04. Nicole Monionno “Classy & Sassy”
What she gon brang, here…? >>> Sounds good fa a female, on tha southern tip. A lil’ bit of cheesy-soundin’ lyrics like “tic-tac-toe” & “eeny, miney, moe.” Hearin’ tha 1st verse on this club-soundin’ vibe & I’m feelin’ tha southern shit she brangin’ to tha table. Tha 2nd verse pretty dope wit how she keeps this shit goin’… My Rating: 4.0

05. Rocky Mountainz feat. VanDaMan “Damage”
I have a feelin’ they gon brang heat—9x heat? Even tho, this #05ohhh, “95;” get it, lol? >>> Feelin’ what they brangin’ wit this heat, mane…! Somethin’ ‘bout how they comin’ wit it, as I knew they would…! Tha hook official wit this “Damage” shit! Feelin’ tha “Damage” they brang to tha city, ya dig? Sounds almost like emo trappin’, on tha 2nd verse. Feels like an excellent way ta describe what this year’s great vibes gon be like…! My Rating: 4.8

06. International Joe feat. Dylan Cage, BBE AJ & Lil’ One The Champ “Who You Playin’ With”
Looks like it gon be an interestin’ collab, here… >>> Oh yeah, definitely feelin’ tha club vibe—pure, pure club vibe, on a cool, mainstream vs. Baton Rouge way! Great job wit tha hook & 1st verse; I really feel Baton Rouge approachin’ soon! Tha 2nd verse sound pretty dope; struck by tha consistent rhymes, on this club shit! I feel how Lil’ One comin’ through on tha 3rd verse; definitely consistent, right here… I say that, in a true perspective, although on September 5, 2018, when havin’ a chance to meet, I got referenced ta Y.B. For Initials as, “I thought he [me] ain’t like me [Lil’ One]?” Weird but it’s all luv; that’s what these reviewz are for, right? Betterness?! My Rating: 4.7

07. Whop Bezzy “Birdmane”
Here goes some ape shit…!! >>> Definitely feelin’ tha true, Baton Rouge-soundin’ beat/vibe, here! Glad he keep tha consistency comin’ along! Met him three years ago, just as a pic in tha club. However, three years later (now), it would be cool if we linked up, on some shit. Him “rollin’ off an Addy & a Perc,” just luvin’ his streettastic life! I definitely feelz it…! My Rating: 4.8

08. YoungBoy Never Broke Again “Bad Bad”
[Reviewin’ this after not realizin’ it wasn’t SoundCloud-eligible…] >>> At least for YoungBoy, it has a Baton Rouge feel to it. Tha hook 50/50; he sound cool, tho a lil’ drowned in tha shitty auto-tune… Feelin’ tha energy he brangin’ to tha 1st verse; a lil’ random wit how he spit but it str8… Tha short lil’ 2nd verse aight; nothin’ ta really brag about, as this continues… My Rating: 3.6

09. YoungBoy Never Broke Again “Lil’ Top”
[Reviewin’ this after not realizin’ it wasn’t SoundCloud-eligible…] >>> Anotha okay/good production, tho drowned in tha auto-tune & mumblin’, on tha hook, smh… Tha 1st verse ehh; just sounds like random rappin’, mixed wit some good lyrics? Then again, he fa err-body else fa support; I’m sure he don’t need me… Tha 2nd verse sound cool ta hear, wit what he bringin’; not impressive fa me, tho it str8 ta hear… My Rating: 3.4

10. Whop Bezzy “Booted Up”
Mo from tha Bezz! >>> Sounds like some mo consistent shit he brangin’; this str8/dat heat… Liked tha otha track betta but this still str8/consistent… My Rating: 4.2

11. Playboy XO “Booted Up”
Gotta be “Booted Up!” >>> Wasn’t sure what ta thank about tha voice, here, but this pure heat! Definitely feelin’ how hype he iz, between tha hook, tha verse & how valuable he sound, lol! Definitely a vibe; all “out [tha] drawls” & err-thang!! My Rating: 4.9

12. A.u. feat. Bezo Luciano “2 Back”
Producer: Hustla
Definitely tha gold heat, here, thanx ta Hustla on tha track! Crazy! Three years ago, at this time, I was gearin’ up fa my 1st Louisiana trip, wit “2 AM” (Benjamin Racks & Kell), produced by Hustla, bein’ that heat! Now, three years later, after hittin’ rock bottom, this huge feelin’ comes right “back,” wit this one! Yeah, “shout out Tha Antidote DJs;” gotta keep reppin’ hard! Wit that bein’ said, definitely luv how this iz pure into tha Baton Rouge scene, no matter tha day or time! Glad A.u. all fulla bein’ loaded, non-stop/all day, err-day! Definitely pure, includin’ how it’s all about throwin’ “2 Back,” “2-Back,” ya dig (get what I said in that sentence, there? Tha “2 Back” (no dash) means “2” as an amount, while tha “2-Back” (with dash) means “2” as “T-O,” lol. “#Loadedness!” Could that be a future title of mine, lol? Just made it up, thanx to that “2 Back”/“2-Back”ness, lol! Wit Bezo, definitely dope wit how he come through, all “loaded” (“I’m loaded”)! Got tha commercial series out now, till tha 31st! Still got 20 episodes left!! I will be in multiple states, within these next 20!! Yeah, Bezo wants, “$1,500 fa a show,” so he can, “Show [his] ass;” so focused on dat bag…! Hope he embrace tha way tha budget rose! “Mr. Cut Up Bad!” My Current Rating: 5.0

13. SB feat. OG Supa & Mofo “Soulja Rag”
Ooh, anotha Mofo appearance, as well as all these peeps comin’ thru…! >>> Feelin’ this beat a whole lot; definitely focused on a mission! Tha 1st verse’s pretty dope; definitely feelin’ what’s bein’ brought to tha table, here! Definitely sounds like some throwback-type Louisiana shit, like, tha early ‘00s! Definitely luvin’ how they comin’ through wit it! Tha 2nd verse pretty dope; definitely feelin’ tha consistent rhymin’, all thru da south! Good shit from all y’all, consistent to tha fullest, here! Gotta luv dat south…!! My Rating: 4.9

14. HBL feat. Hot Boy Turk “Like ‘Em Hot”
Let’s keep it “hot!!” >>> Yeah, this pretty “hot” with tha typical bounce sample, as well as how HBL does tha damn thang, on tha 1st verse. Feelin’ this full-on bounce/Louisiana vibe, to tha fullest! Tha hook pretty dope; definitely feelin’ how amped up & energetic it iz, of course…! Tha 2nd verse pretty dope from HBL, as well; so in tha zone, it seems like…? Definitely nice! Turk providin’ “hot” shit throughout tha rest of this, as well; thought HBL owned tha track, tho! My Rating: 4.7

½time: Talk about dat “heat,” to tha fullest!! A 4.6-rated review! I gotta pick up tha pace, since it 6:55 PM & I gotta get ta work by 8:30 PM! With that bein’ said, “no cap!” You see it!

15. Giovelli “All A Dat”
Lol @ tha “A” for “Of”, here. Lookin’ like an “All-A-Dat” (dashes)? >>> Kinda sounds like white rap/emo trap-like shit fa Louisiana? A good hook, as well as decent verses; nothin’ too-too crazy ‘bout. Not wack, tho with all tha heat on this edition, this seems to fall far behind it…! My Rating: 3.5

16. Gunz Up Ent. “We Are BR”
Here they come! >>> Sounds like somethin’ hot; shout out ta all them! Big Lucci, TK WNE! Hook dope wit that hidden/random sample, as well as that bounce vibe! Luv tha deepness Lucc brings to tha 1st verse, here! Tha hook’s pretty infectious; can’t get away from tha title! That’s how much it sticks in yo veins!! Neva heard tha chick on tha 2nd verse b4 but she sounds dope, fa this vibe; good contribution, courtesy of tha Gunz Up click! Tha 3rd verse sounds dope; shout out ta TK WNE…! All about that full representation fa “BR!” My Rating: 4.6

17. DB Kash “Turn Around”
Keepin’ it movin’… >>> Sounds pretty nice, fa tha clubz; can’t complain… Tha 1st verse pretty nice; a 2 Chainz-like dude, with tha voice/flow? Sounds good fa that kinda mirrored audio, lol… Tha 2nd verse ain’t bad, here; okay, compared ta tha rest of these tracks… My Rating: 3.8

18. Deezy feat. Kocaine “Diddy Bop”
What gon be next…? >>> Funny that I spelled his name like WNC Whop Bezzy, at first & then, corrected myself. Then, he says in tha 1st verse, “Two Es & one Z,” lol; instantly answered my thoughts, lol. With that bein’ said, Deezy comin’ through wit nice shit, throughout tha 1st verse & hook; definitely nice! Tha 2nd verse from
tha Caine sounds str8; nice lil’ track, though might be behind many… My Rating: 4.1

19. Bezo Luciano “Spinnin’ Like Taz”
Oh boy…! >>> Holy fuck, how hype he iz…!! Just luv how he constantly “spinnin’,” on tha hook!! Tha 1st verse pretty dope wit how he in total G-mode, when it comes ta this shit! Good, continuous, hyped-up shit on tha 2nd verse, here; sounds nice, though I thought tha 1st verse was a lil’ catchier. My Rating: 4.8

20. Yannie Badazz “I Don’t Wanna Make Luv”
[Reviewin’ this after not realizin’ it wasn’t SoundCloud-eligible…] I couldn’t find this anywhere online… Might have ta review this in a few weeks; I may get a hard copy from you, Tremon! My Rating: N/A

21. Breezy Bre “Lil’ Secret”
What will she brang, after all tha bouncin’ from tha last edition? >>> This sounds like one of those tracks that may sound nice at your club, tho not really fa me… A lil’ softie, like ice cream, here, on tha hook? She sounds like a rappin’ Crystal Waters, on tha 1st verse; cool/okay fa me… I feel like tha 2nd verse sounds like a teaspoon of tha Crystal Waters voice, then drowned into “auto-tune corna!” My Rating: 2.8

22. Mofo “Three”
Keepin’ it goin’ wit Mo shit, if you get my capital “M!” >>> Sounds like a cool/decent lil’ laidback vibe… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like an okay story. Flow/beat kinda repetitive, with not much catchiness poppin’ up, here & there… As tha 2nd minute approaches, it sounds like it’s gettin’ a lil’ catchier wit tha lyrics, here… My Rating: 3.7

23. Mofo “Dooky Chase Mini Peach”
A cake, lol? >>> Sounds cool, in a laidback way. This one got str8-up rhymes, though tha beat has better changin’ up than tha previous track. I’m not really tha biggest on laidback-soundin’, semi-NY-soundin’ beats, tho this sound cool wit how Mofo spit on it. I’m not dickridin’ ‘cause he no longer here; I’m givin’ props fa his take on this… My Rating: 4.3

24. Lil’ Garrey feat. Yasi “Something To Talk About”
Wonder how dis one gon go…? >>> More on tha R&B/slower vibe; guess this edition’s nice & in a chronological/organized order? Like, as tha night started, vs. it endin’? By tha end of tha night, this’ll seem like I’m all stuck in its laidback zone (zoned out)! With that bein’ said, I’m not tha biggest on a beat like this & tha 1st verse aight… I’m kinda diggin’ how tha 2nd verse soundin’, wit that voice; cool rhymes, as well… Almost thought that was a mix of Lil’ One The Champ & Quick on tha 3rd verse, lol; sounds okay, regardless… My Rating: 3.0

25. Kay Lashae “Resolution”
Keepin’ it movin’… >>> Sounds like an Alessia Cara or someone, in tha beginning… Sounds like an interestin’, really-zoned-out R&B vibe, as if your night’s endin’, lol; I can hear it! Though I somewhat-outgrew some of this type of music, sometimes, one joint’ll come, here & there; this one of ‘em. My Rating: 4.4

26. Rocky Mountainz “OHHH”
OHHH,” here comes tha Mountainz, again! >>> Sounds good, on tha 1st verse; almost sounds like a mainstream/jacked beat, here? That’s just a view I get off it, vs. tha way tha beginning of this mixtape went. Got tha 2nd verse, here, couldn’t “even take a shit;” deep…, lol. Rhymes cool; this was good/str8… My Rating: 4.3

27. Bald Head B feat. Jaye London “My Plug Is A Negro”
Oh boy…; I remember seein’ this title from somewhere, very recently… >>> Sounds dope, fa a slower street/trap vibe…; very catchy-soundin’ hook! Now, that’s a voice fa this “plug,” ya dig? Got tha pure, southern heat, on tha 1st verse; definitely focused!! Cool-focused, that iz! Tha 2nd verse sounds cool; I fux widdit, as well…! My Rating: 4.5

28. Mofo “Rain Man”
Endin’ wit… >>> I’m likin’ how he vibes off this soulful beat; sounds nice wit what he has ta offer, in this high of his…! Cool rhymes & shit; tha vibe of tha beat not really fa me. I actually get a sad vibe off it, especially since he passed… I like how it fade out ta tha end, as I see sound approachin’… “It’s M.O.B., you bastards!;” there it iz! My Rating: 3.2

Overall: Pretty dope, here; tons of heat!! Great job wit how you put this together, as well as err-body that contributed! Keep bringin’ tha heat! Fiya…! Turn-up time approachin’; can’t wait!! Commercial-series time approachin’, most likely; can’t wait!!

Review #1,816: DJ Tremon "Hottest In The City 8"

Reviewed on 9.18.2019 (Review #1,816)

Still in tha middle of nowhere with my life, tho slowly attemptin’ to get back on track… In tha meantime, I got this review fa my boy, DJ Tremon Hottest In The City 8, courtesy of M.O.B. Entertainment! Gettin’ ta review this tha day of its release; pretty lucky, right? Let’s see how every1 does…! Start Time: 9:46 PM | End Time: 10:35 PM

01.
I’m guessin’ either Track 01 was a copyright on SoundCloud? Wanted to guess an intro attached to Track 02 but I’ll just assume it’s a copyright… Can’t review this track if nothing’s here… My Rating: N/A

02. Whop Bezzy feat. Kevin Gates “Stunt Forreal”
Without a 1st track, this’ll be tha track to kick thangz off…! >>> Sounds like a good, hyped-up, Baton Rouge-styled hook/track, here! Bezzy sounds like a Spitta/T2 mix in his gumbo’d flow, here; good shit! Hearin’ him on tha 1st verse, as he treats err-body “like a blunt” and “passes [‘em] to [his] homies;” dumb shit! Gotta be “fulla pillz,” enjoyin’ life to da max! Wish I was reviewin’ this high! Too bad I gotta wait, smh! October 9th sentencin’ day; we’ll see how long da countdown ta freedom gon be…! Wish me luck!! Wit dat bein’ said, goin’ str8 ta Gates on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some good/classic-soundin’ Gates! Definitely feelin’ this collab; pure BR/225-type shit to da bone gristle! No sellout/mainstream bullshit-soundin’ vibes here!! My Rating: 4.6

03. Spitta “It’s Up”
Fa’got da apostrophe in “It’s!” >>> Strictly consistent shit from da Spit, here; good shit! He got da flames on lock, throughout tha 1st verse! Good shit on tha hook, too! Gotta have your “head in da clouds!” Without tha highs, I can’t have my “head in da clouds,” as far as a full-workin’ brain; ugh! Good shit throughout tha 2nd verse, too, as well as tha rest of this shit goin’ on! Good lil’ acapella shit, too; Spit knows what Spit knows! My Rating: 4.4

04. OCG Sheppard feat. Kocaine “Twerk Contest”
Shep needs an extra “P”? >>> Sounds like it has a good lil’ 504 blend, here, wit tha beat/vibe… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds good; feelin’ tha extraction of good vibes bein’ brought out…! Got Shepard on tha 1st verse, as well, expectin’ a winner wit dis “Twerk Contest”; good/consistent twerkspective, here—just made up a new word! 9.18.2019 @ 9:52 PM (EST); take notes! As we keep it goin’, we got Kocaine on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through as if it’s a Mardi Gras in Tremon’s club; good shit! Speakin’ of “birthday,” Happy Birthday to my round, Young True! Yalp! We ‘80s babies in our 30’s! My Rating: 4.2

05. Breezy Bre “Ready”
>>> A female, here, as we’re keepin’ tha twerk anthems goin’… Hook cool; I fucks wit it… I keep thinkin’ I’m hearin’ “asshole,” but I know it’s “ass go” and “ass, tho” lol. Lol! I’m really looped in tha “ass go” and “ass, tho” parts, lol! If I was high, I woulda been couch-locked & mind-fucked into it! Likin’ how tha bounce vibes picked up, toward tha end! Surprised how much I liked this one…! My Rating: 4.4

06. Birdman & Juvenile feat. Lil’ Wayne “Ride Dat”
Switchin’ to a more mainstream vibe, here… >>> Sounds like it transitioned well from tha full-on bounce vibe to a N’awlinz gangsta/bounce combo vibe… Juve on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some good shit; I fucks wit it… I like how tha hook has that classic turntable mix vibe to it; good shit, Juve! Oh wait, him sayin’, “Ride dat—ride-da-ride—ride…,” sounded like mixin’, at first, lol! But yeah, we got brrrrrr—Birdman on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit good shit; nice… Not a single second fa fuckery, here! Oh shit, I think I spoke too soon? Wayne comin’ through on tha 3rd verse wit dat gay voice shit! He finna be 37 in nine mo dayz; still usin’ auto-tune like he fuckin’ 25! If somethin’ should be old, it’s auto-tune! It’s aight, tho; I won’t trash this too much, just fa dat… My Rating: 3.7

07. Jaye London “Fuck Ova”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ repetitive hook; anotha club banga…! Hearin’ Jaye on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit supapowers! “Drink it down;” he holdin’ it “down!” Good shit comin’ outta tha 2nd verse, too. On da real, it’s just a good lil’ BR club banga wit dat G-shit on top! My Rating: 4.0

08. Mack Tony “Cocaine Step”
>>> Slower vibe, here, but more on a throwback, G-shit tip… Hearin’ dude on tha 1st verse and it almost reminded me of Project Pat’s voice/flow, slightly… Tha hook’s cool; gotta keep dem streetz on lock! Speakin’ of “cocaine,” comin’ October 9th, as well, I have a new music video comin’ out. It will be speakin’ on my situation, as a coke addict attempted to ruin my life. My version of dissin’? Playin’ his character and embracin’ his love fa tha coco! Anyway, good shit on tha 2nd verse, too; nice job, overall… My Rating: 3.9

09. Giovelli “Baby On Baby”
Like DaBaby? >>> Likin’ how it’s short and instantly in yo face! Quick and instant; consistent rhymes “on” rhymes! My Rating: 4.3

10. Mofoya “Rain Man”
>>> Almost sounds like some1 like Barry White sampled in tha background, here… Not really my style of rap that I’d really brag about… Let’s leave this lyrical shit to where I’m at, on tha northeast. Not that I’m gonna give it a thumbs down but it’s not 100% fa me and I don’t think it fits this compilation’s vibe… Tha 1st verse iz nice wit these rhymes… Oh, even more not on my tip: Only one str8 verse? Nothin’ to transition catchiness? Gotta criticize; it iz what it iz! My Rating: 3.1

11. Kocaine “Str8n It Out”
>>> Looks like a quick lil’ 89 seconds… Sounds like a good lil’ hook; I feel tha catchiness of this “str8n” he doin’! Hearin’ Kociana on tha verse and it sounds good; I’ll give him anotha plus. Either way, seein’ his name, all I think of iz my upcomin’ music video! My Rating: 4.1

½time: This a great edition, so far; started off real well and continues ta shine! Not too many bumps in tha road, here; a 4.1-rated compilation! Let’s keep it up! Only way iz up from here…, right?

12. Cake “Ls”
>>> Coulda skipped this auto-tune shit but I got stuck listenin’ ta it… “Boxers…Ralph Lauren;” I’ll just co-sign that line and that’s it! Title ironic? “Ls”? A loss, here! Beat upbeat but yeah, tha auto-tune in 2019 made it go down tha cesspool fa me! My Rating: 1.3

13. Beezy KKK “Shakeback”
>>> Anotha quickie… Hearin’ tha verse and it’s good, I guess… Likin’/got thrown off at :35 wit that distorted warp! My Rating: 3.6

14. Rocky Mountainz “Pack Pusher”
>>> Sounds like a catchy beat start, almost like one of my catchy sounds I’d use to produce… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s str8… Hook str8, too; likin’ it a lil’ betta than tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it str8, as well, even tho I’m slowly losin’ interest. I’ono, maybe, a catchier flow/voice needed? Coulda used a feature on this track ta switch thangz up? Suggestion… (for his next track)? My Rating: 3.6

15. Big Lucci feat. Gunz Up Ent. “Lil’ Mama”
>>> A lil’ boost in tha energy, from those previous tracks! Needed a lil’ Louisianaffeine—anotha new word by me! 10:16 PM (EST)! Definitely diggin’ all tha energy on tha hook; good repetitive vibe! Got Lucci on tha 1st verse, here; I’m feelin’ his club vibe/lyrics! We need this kinda shit every once in a while! Shouldn’t be a thing of tha past! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, comin’ through wit a good lil’ Louisiana club vibe, here; nice shit… My Rating: 4.5

16. Bjay feat. Spitta & Percy Keith “Watch Out”
Lookin’ like a good collab, here…! >>> Just like tha song I just reviewed, this goes great wit it! Great transition! Feelin’ tha energy on tha hook, as well as what we got goin’ on from this Bjay dude on tha 1st verse! Strictly reppin’ da trenches of tha 225, here; good shit! Constantly throwin’ “back” on tha hook, too; dumb shit! Spit-to-tha-ta on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through as he can “fix it if it breaks;” an undeniable Spit! Let’s see how hard Perc gon come through on tha 3rd verse…! Didn’t recognize his voice fa tha 1st few seconds but tha energy iz at a 10, here! Of course, as consistent as can be! It’s kinda how I feel, right nah! I feel like as I’m typin’, I’m breathin’ fast or somethin’! But yeah, a pitbull off da chain!! My Rating: 4.7

17. L Franchise “Block Us”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ track/interestin’ beat; nice lil’ 1st verse, here… This “minimum wage” shit wack, on da real! I been had a Master’s Degree fa six years and everytime I apply fa a job, it always starts at a minimum; wtf? I deserve way more than a 12 or some shit! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it sounds a lil’ catchy wit tha flow, here; good shit… My Rating: 4.0

18. Flow Gamble “FWM”
>>> Goin’ wit a distorted voice on tha hook/title, as well as a club/hyped-up beat ta mix it; good shit! Feelin’ tha energy; let’s see how tha rappin’ goes… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and goin’ str8 ta da “bag;” hmm… Even referencin’ tha “Ricky Bobby,” like 2019’s tha new ’09? I would usually be like, “Wtf?” However, I feel like I’d rather embrace energy than criticize it. I think this world’s too lazy, these dayz! Stoned iz good to be lazy, at times, but I like when it makes me productive!! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse and tha rappin’s pretty-much an adrenaline rush! My Rating: 4.2

19. Breezy Bre “Throw It Back”
>>> Almost got afraid when I heard it; thought it was a City Girls mainstream feature, lol! I know this a good, consistent review, tho! We stay in da Boot and da Boot only!! Good lil’ upliftin’ vibe from her, once again, on tha hook… Tha verse pretty nice, too, fa dis Tremontastic party; mo props from me! My Rating: 4.1

20. Lit Phil “Really Mad”
Hope this dude a good newbie… >>> Threw me off as tha bounce vibe transition from tha last song transitioned to this, which iz upbeat but not as fast. It literally seems like a slow song, at first, lol. Naw, tho, it mo shit fa tha clubz, of course! Hearin’ tha hook and it cool; I fucks wit it… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and dude got some good rhymes fa these 2019 BR streetz/this BR atmosphere. “How you almost 30 and ain’t have a car, yet?” I thought it was bad when I didn’t have one till 22…! I thought drivin’ by myself at 23 was late… Gettin’ my newest car at 26…; my slowness ain’t too far behind, huh? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it almost sounds off-beat, in tha beginning? I’ono… I’m diggin’ tha energy and what he bringin’ to tha table, tho… My Rating: 4.1

21. Buddy Cream “Enough”
>>> Rather just pass on this! Sounds like a jacked beat… No “money” fa me and odd-soundin’ voice! I only lasted 19 seconds! *Skips* My Rating: 1.0

22. Beezy KKK “Fulla Hurt”
>>> Was on-guard wit Beezy’s voice, here (damn you, Buddy Cream!) but it str8… Hearin’ tha hook and it ehh…; okay but not really my cup of tealicious tea… I’ono about that singin’, b4 tha verse; voice sounds like every1 listenin’ should cringe… Weak transition? I was gonna say, where tha hell does tha hook come back? Toward tha end; sounded like a long-ass verse… My Rating: 2.9

23. Spitta “Gotta Be Real”
>>> Endin’ wit a HardBody beat, here… I’m likin’ tha sounds in this one; sounds like a cool lil’ beat and Spitta spittin’ dat BR street shit on top of dis! Even sounds good wit a sample on tha hook, too; HardBody fa tha props! Everytime Spit says tha title on tha hook, I feel like it’s a props fa [DJ] B-Real! Good vibes! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it cool, as well; good job, Spit! Unlimited times he featured on each compilation and number of compilations! Keep it goin’! My Rating: 4.3

Overall: Seemed like tha 2nd ½ of this CD had a rocky road ta cross… Omit tha auto-tuned trash, as well as any weird voices… I also thank tha lyrical content tracks should be saved for albums, not mixtape compilations fulla energy. Either way, great job, Tremon! I think from November 1 – 30, I’m gonna do a commercial fa you every day, promotin’ your Hottest In The City compilations. I was gonna do September 23 – October 31 but Skull Duggrey, n.k.a. Charles Hershieie, hit me up and wanted me to give him an idea/boost. So, I decided that I’m gonna produce a new beat for him, each day, from September 23 – October 31! That’s right! Can I produce 39 beats and release 39 commercials wit 39 new beats, in a row? It’s all about consistency! Till November 1, I guess, keep up tha grind! You gon get your luv shown, in due time!

Review #1,812: DJ Tremon "Hottest In The City 6"

Reviewed on 8.15.2019 (Review #1,812)

Continuin’ these reviewz like a boss, despite my back pain… Here goes DJ Tremon Hottest In The City 6! Leggo! Start Time: 5:33 PM | End Time: 6:35 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2019 CD Review (Review #1,812) reviewed on 8.15.2019 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Spitta “Time”
>>> Sounds like a good beat start, as well as you on tha intro… Glad you put in all this “work,” Tremon! I would luv ta have two jobs, at this “time!” Likin’ all these timez on tha hook; you know how my autistic-ass iz wit numbaz! Started this review at 5:33 but Louisiana “time,” it’s 4:33; you know! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds great, as always; can’t deny Spit! Chargin’ $4,500 fa a verse; you know he official wit it! Tha 2nd verse go off; I luv tha line, “I hate 12; tha new time iz 1:00!” I agree; fuck “12” ‘cause it all about bein’ #“1!” My Rating: 4.5

02. WNC Whop Bezzy “Wig Off”
>>> Feelin’ tha energy; definitely nice! Why tha 1st verse seem like it off-beat? Great beat and energetic vibe but it feels off-beat ta me… Lol, tha hook seems hilarious but then again, they gotta show they organic-asses! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ str8, too; still a lil’ all over tha place, sometimes… My Rating: 4.0

03. Fredo Bang feat. Moneybagg Yo “Story To Tell (Remix)”
Felt tha Kevin Gates remix a lot but I’ono if he can do a non-Louisiana-featured remix? >>> Sounds good, as always; always dig Fredo’s flow, on tha 1st verse & hook. I’ll give Moneybagg his props fa collabin’ wit Fredo, on tha 2nd verse. I’m diggin’ tha flow, as well as how he said, “Hot like Louisiana.” Usually, I get a guilty pleasure wit Moneybagg, as he reminds me of that rapper I said in two reviewz ago that turned on me… Luv that Fredo ain’t too big to offer “da shmoke,” lol! My Rating: 4.4

04. Max Minelli feat. Meter Gang “Spend A Ben”
Austin doin’ tha production, here. Also, why did Max give it up, recently? Only at age 40; ain’t C-Loc, like, a decade older than him, almost? Gotta ask him ‘cause sometimes, I be at a crossroads, too… >>> Sounds like an undaground Internet quality, here; not bad wit tha hook… Hearin’ this 1st verse and it str8; nothin’ really ta say, I guess? Max on tha 2nd verse and it a cool lil’ verse; can’t complain… My Rating: 3.7

05. Kocaine “Cocaine Cookin’”
>>> Likin’ this beat sound; good lil’ hook, too…! “Smell tha aroma!” Hearin’ tha verse and it sounds good wit tha calculatin’… My Rating: 4.1

06. Young B “I’m From Baton Rouge”
>>> Feelin’ his perspective in tha streetz of “Baton Rouge,” on this hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, as well as how he flow on tha beat & it nice… “No reset button, nigga, I go dumb-dumb!” Definitely! “Shmoke you like a blunt-blunt;” gotta luv how he double his wordz-wordz, lol! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice, as well; “keep it str8 ‘G’!” My Rating: 4.3

07. WNC Whop Bezzy “Who Raised You”
>>> Feelin’ tha same about tha otha song of his on here… Good energy, slightly off-beat & good aggression… One quick hook & a verse ta supply err-body… My Rating: 4.0

08. Lil’ K feat. Spitta “Budget”
>>> Likin’ tha beat & these anti-“Budget” rules but if that tha case, wouldn’t gettin’ promotion by me be cheap as fuck? Hopefully from me, one day…? Hearin’ tha 1st verse from K & it sounds good wit what he bringin’ to these streetz… “Mo traffic than Publix,” huh? Go getta gettin’ it, lol…! Keepin’ it movin’ wit Spit on tha 2nd verse, comin’ thru wit his “social studies,” here; good shit. Of course, as always, feelin’ what he cookin’ up: “blueberry muffins,” lol! My Rating: 4.3

09. L. Franchise “Zones”
>>> Sounds like somethin’ you’d be high too—oh, hearin’ him say, “High,” here, on tha hook; good shit. Beat dry like bud and tha hook somethin’ to zone out to… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good; keep it goin’… Goin’ tha Wayne/Future/Drake 2013 route wit tha “Love Me” hook-opening fa tha 2nd verse opening; nice… Tha rest of this verse sounds good, too; good shit… My Rating: 3.9

10. Rocky Mountainz “Fire”
>>> Anotha dry beat; sounds like a catchy hook but this iz lackin’ energy… Sounds like a repetitive flow; I’m not gonna bash it too much ‘cause it at least put an effort in, throughout tha verse/track… My Rating: 3.6

11. Young Gage “Best Of Them”
>>> Think I’ve heard betta from him, back in tha decade… Not sure if I can feel this sellout-soundin’ hook… Okay, hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s a lil’ betta; guess it fits your set vibe betta than my review? Some good rhymes, here, while some boredism rhymes fa tha song, at times… Tha 2nd verse aight; not 100% my taste but it ain’t bad… My Rating: 2.9

12. 70th Street Carlos feat. Sauce Walka “Drip On 70th Street”
Anotha non-Louisiana feature? Let’s see how it goes… >>> Had a feelin’ I’d like it when I seen it was Carlos on tha feature… Sounds like a good 1st verse; beat on point & Carlos’ focus on point, as well! Short lil’ part from Sauce, toward tha end; feelin’ his energy, as well! My Rating: 4.3

13. Bolo “Regular”
LMAO, Tremon luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuvz this song!! My Current Rating: 4.0

14. Perk “Cuttin’ Up”
>>> Good energy on tha hook, here & tha beat str8…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like a Sam I Am vs. Mystikal breed; diggin’ tha energy! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, str8 outta tha “Rouge;” gotta luv it! Glad you be findin’ all these peeps, Tremon! I used to find a bunch of ‘em, back a decade ago. Now, you’re tha leader of dat shit… My Rating: 4.2

15. Tygee Ramon “Son Uh Da Don”
Likin’ this title/ID… >>> Sounds good wit this Baton Rouge-soundin’ production, as well as this hook; great undaground shit…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ factual; facts! Good shit; gotta keep it movin’! Sounds like a grimy vocal, when it comes to this undaground rap shit, on tha 2nd verse; dope shit! My Rating: 4.1

½time: Best ½time fa Tremon, so far, wit a 4.0-rated CD! Only thang iz, no songs in tha 4.6+ range… Either way, only one track I ain’t rate above average but I’m diggin’ this consistent, upbeat vibe! Let’s keep it goin’!

16. Jess A. Hustla “Regular”
>>> “I can’t hit tha weed if it’s regular;” catchy lil’ hook, here! Dude wants tha above-average; I feel him! I definitely feel him afta all this shit goin’ on wit me! As soon as I shake back, it’s to da max!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good; I’ll give him props fa how he throws it down…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s good, as well; keep da consistency up! My Rating: 4.1

17. Mack Tony “Bitch Please”
Only gave it a 3.1 on Vol. 4 but it sounds slightly betta… My Current Rating: 3.5

18. JayGee x GH Dre “The Wave”
>>> Sounds like a YFN Lucci on tha hook, here… Beat only aight but I’m diggin’ tha title part; he got a lil’ bit of style, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and he “ain’t new ta this,” huh? Good shit, I guess? Scary-soundin’ introduction to tha 2nd verse wit tha long-ass harmonizin’, lol? Had to google it to see if it was one artist or two; it’s two. Didn’t realize they were “from tha Boot;” might have to grow after multiple listens… My Rating: 3.1

19. Arthentic “No Games”
>>> Anotha good one from Arthentic, here, based off tha hook; seems like tha only singin’ that can pass tha test of my reviewz… Kickin’ off tha 1st verse as if they’re Lauryn Hill & The Fugees’ “Ready Or Not”. Keepin’ it movin’ and it’s soundin’ str8; can’t complain… My Rating: 3.2

20. Ashley Denay “TBYL”
>>> “Thinkin’ ‘Bout You Lately,” here, soundin’ like an okay singin’ track wit this beat. I like how it transitions from tha previous singin’ track on here; good thinkin’, Tremon. Not just 100% singin’ but rappin’ on tha verse, here; good blend. It sounds like that undaground singin’ vibe I’d like ta hear, so I’ll give it its props… My Rating: 3.8

21. Kaelz “Vision”
>>> Goin’ fa three singin’ tracks in a row? Let’s see if it’s worth it… Likin’ how she starts off by shmokin’ “a blunt” as an option; nice…! Went tha rappin’ route just like Ashley did, huh? Sounds like good lil’ trip-hop-type rappin’, so I’ll give this some props. Beat’s a lil’ dry/boring; I like tha Ashley one betta. Still, I give this props fa blendin’ wit tha otha singin’ tracks… Tha 2nd verse sounds like she fittin’ in tha “trill” perspective, based off her rhymes; good shit… My Rating: 3.4

22. Lil’ One The Champ “Girlfriend”
E.P. still doin’ good wit tha productions, huh? Looks good that he continues…! >>> Sounds like a good conversation-like rap, on tha verse; I’ll give him props. Tha hook ain’t too bad; a lil’ repetitive but it goes wit this mixtape’s vibe… Hearin’ whateva remains toward tha end (tha 2nd verse) and it’s aight… My Rating: 3.6

23. Mista Cain feat. OTB Fastlane “Thumbin’”
>>> Sounds a lil’ cool, on tha hook, even tho it sounds like some Lucci whinnin’, in tha background… Hearin’ Cain on tha 1st verse and his thumbz workin’ tha money, I guess? Not really my cup of tea ta rap about it and then, he switches to mo shit… He was interested in me in 2010; what would bring out tha interest in him to me, now? I’ono but I feel like I can’t achieve it… Hearin’ tha dude on tha 2nd verse and I almost thought he was Kevin-bitin’ wit tha “grinder” shit, in tha beginning… Either way, good lil’ vibe about grindin’—bein’ on da grind… My Rating: 3.6

24. Bezo Luciano feat. DJ B-Real “Cut Up Bad”
Lol, had a feelin’ this was gon appear somewhere along tha line. Thought it would be on tha 7th edition but it’s here, on tha 6th edition. I think this one of those golden, undaground classics from BR. It goes good wit tha “So Whopped”s & all tha tracks people luv, in BR. B-Real did a nice job wit this beat, makin’ it a timeless club banga, as well as his cool/undeniable catchiness, on tha hook. Bezo shows off pretty nicely durin’ tha 1st verse; shout out ta “Strow[sama],” as he shouts out, on tha 1st verse. He really feelin’ tha hype, especially durin’ tha end of tha verses! You really feel tha B-Real beats kickin’! Also, tha 2nd verse pretty dope; dude know how ta hold it down! My Current Rating: 4.9 (still a guilty pleasure, at times…)

25. Cannon Da Assassin “Retarded”
>>> Sounds good and hyped-up on tha hook/beat, here… Hearin’ tha verse and it’s soundin’ good, as well. “Playz” in tha “DNA,” huh? Good shit…! Gotta put dat otha “S” in “Assasin”’s name, Tremon… Either way, props fa bein’ “Retarded!” My Rating: 4.2

26. Westside Chopa “Pussy”
And, maybe, anotha “P” in “Chopa”, here? >>> Sounds like a hyped-up vibe, on tha hook, based off this C-Murder-sampled beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like dude got tha club/streetz on lock! Thumbs up ta this Westsider! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s good, as well; good facts about tha “Pussy” type! My Rating: 4.0

27. Pardee Boy “Still Ratchet”
>>> Sounds catchy, fa tha hook & beat. Speakin’ of samplin’ shit, here’s a sample of “All They Do Is Jigg” on tha lyrics. I dig tha energy, as well as tha “R-A-T-C-H-E-T” spellin’; good shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ pretty nice; gotta keep it hyped-up! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s a “social media”-type dose of energy, here; good shit… My Rating: 4.2

28. Jaye London “Open Up”
>>> Sounds anticipatin’ wit tha “rollin’ all night” intro…! Tha synths in tha beat sound like they sample somethin’ (“dinn-de-dinn; de-dinn, de-dinn”); good shit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and dude got it goin’ on, even down ta tha Sip! Good lil’ hook, too; gotta keep tha energy goin’! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and dude keepin’ it goin’, here; can’t deny it…! My Rating: 4.3

29. Geno “O.G.”
Anotha track from him; lookin’ forward…! >>> A slow start; kickin’ it off wit tha hook, keepin’ it “O.G.,” here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and dude sounds like an undaground street dude, despite jiggin’ on tha previous song of his… “We livin’ dat Boot life.” I also agree wit him when he says, “I’m an asshole;” I feel dat way about myself, at times. It’s like, you gotta let tha inner-“asshole” outta yaself, at times! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; slightly-above-average fa me, even tho I liked his “Jig” song betta… My Rating: 3.6

30. Nicole Monionno “Finding Nemo”
Not sure if I’ll dig this, based off what it looks like… >>> Anotha one on here samplin’ “Give Me That”? “Bitch Please” was tha otha one… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds okay; at least tha energy’s here, in tha beat & vibe… Tha hook sounds good, even tho it’s anotha remake wit tha lyrics (“nobody move, nobody make a sound”). A lil’ bit of a mixed-review from me but I don’t think it’s trash. Lol @ when she says, “Finding Nemo,” outta nowhere, especially rhymin’ it wit “beast mode!” My Rating: 3.0

31. NBA YoungBoy feat. Plies & Lil’ Baby “Cross Me”
Throwback from ’16? >>> Damn, he made anotha “Cross Me”? I rememba tha otha one he made wit Whop Bezzy, produced by B-Real. It’s like, what iz this? Took 31 songs to find a shitty song, I guess? Repetitive, boring hook, unlike tha old “Cross Me”. Lol, uncredited 2nd verse that sounds like fast-ass rappin’ (Plies)? *Checks* Yeah, why his fake-ass on here? People also put Baby b4 Plies in tha ID; wrong… Baby on tha 3rd verse; why this fast-ass rappin’? Enough cryin’, YoungBoy (wit this hook)! Got 47 seconds left; let’s see an outro… *Waits…* *Waits…* Guess not? Why all tha silence at tha end? Rushed to get it out there? Prolly coulda just subtracted this track…! My Rating: 1.3

Overall: Looks like I enjoyed this one a lot; lots of good shit on here but not really many shockingly-good ones (no new ones). Only one that surpassed tha 4.6 was “Cut Up Bad” and no new ones. Either way, a lotta good, consistent tracks fulla energy & street vibes, so I’ll give it that!
