Review #641: DeTrane "Jigg City Radio Vol. 3: The Return (Post Wreck Edition)"

Reviewed on 9.03.2010 (Review #641)

For my next review, it’s a CD I didn’t think eva came out. But, finally, as of yesterday, I found out that it did get released to http://www.brmc.me and it’s DeTrane “Jigg City Radio Vol. 3: The Return (Post Wreck Edition). I usually don’t like back-tracking reviewz since I did Vol. 4 & 5 already… Start Time: 11:44 PM | End Time: 1:02 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Celebrity Ent. Feat. Lil’ J “Nu$$ie Dance”
Icky start; would’ve heard it here first since it was uploaded May 10, 2009. Not exactly DCF (since they parted ways) but it was Celebrity Ent. at tha time. Young Hits on tha track. That’s Da Jackel on tha 1st verse (I pretended I didn’t hear tha beginning). Actually, he sounds pretty good. Not sure of what ta say about Delwin but Lil’ J’s here… He did a nice job and Delwin’s on tha 3rd verse, although tha song sounds like a GIGANTIC obsession wit Nu$$ie. I know he died but I think a song like this (wit tha title especially) iz goin’ in a weird direction. LOL @ tha long ending, yet, it ain’t bad but all tha “Nu$$ie!!! Nu$$ie!!!”s add to tha obsession wit makin’ this song. Tha beat here was pretty good, although it was like, “WTF was goin’ on wit this song?” A lotta weirdness, lol (especially outside tha verses). Not that bad of a song (tha rating I’m givin’ iz GREAT fa a “dance”-type song), although I don’t think I can feel obsessed wit it at all! My Current Rating: 2.8

02. DeTrane “R.I.P. Nu$$ie Skit”
LOL, you did put your name on tha skit? Iz it you or samples? Lemme find out… >>> Almost thought it was gonna be that “Nu$$ie!!! Nu$$ie!!” sample that you used to have on your phone back last year, lol! LOL, what was that silenced spot at :20? I like how you sound a lil’ like Southpaw too! My Rating: N/A

03. Nu$$ie Feat. Savage “They Hate My”
LOL? Could’ve thrown a different song on here instead; there’s plenty of ‘em that neva made tha “Jigg City Radio” CDs… My Current Rating: 4.8

04. Bengie Feat. Gangsta “U Ain’t On”
I see tha “and” symbol but I’m not really gonna predict that it’s a collaboration CD project… Neva heard before so lemme see what’s up! >>> I’m likin’ tha beat here; cool shit! Ooh, a Southpaw tag, lol! Tha 1st verse sounds cool; almost reminds me of someone I heard once before… I like how this iz #4 on tha mixtape; nice and early! Ooh, tha hook sounds cool; I like how tha title sounds wit this tight beat! Tha 2nd verse’s showin’ GR8 luv ta “Baton Rouge” here! Nice job on tha verse… Sounds like my boy Gangsta on tha 3rd verse here; feelin’ tha future-perspective! My Rating: 4.3

05. Kevin Gates “My Block”
Ugh, lol… I HATE that intro part wit tha loud-ass sound or whateva it iz. Plus, I take Akon out of tha ID ‘cause that really wasn’t him. I just thought it was pathetic that someone had to imitate a Pop/R&B/Techno artist (yes, he makes buku music wit 128+ BPM)! Tha GAYEST thing was that “ooooooooohhh” shit in tha hook; WTF!? Would’ve expected a way betta Gates song… Tha lyrics may be REAL nice, as well as tha beat ta go wit it, but I just can’t deal wit dat hook. It really crushes tha song; GAY-ASS FAKE vocals to tha fullest!!!!! Tha 2nd verse soundin’ nice… My Current Rating: 2.5

06. DeTrane “Skit”
Ooh, anotha skit from you; lemme hear! >>> Good shit here, ya heard me? Showin’ luv ta tha tracks and err-body in BR! My Rating: N/A

07. Lil’ Yella Feat. Nu$$ie & Lil’ Boonie “Dope Money”
LOL, shy on tha “lil’”s, lol? Great beat. I thought it was Sims (‘cause of what it sounded like Yella said in tha beginning) but I actually found out that Camp produced it. Tha hook iz DEFINITELY a street banga and Yella does his thang on tha 1st verse! Gotta luv how he spits tha shit tha way he does! Nu$$ie’s verse was decent. I thought Nu$$ie had betta verses in tha past. Boonie spits like a gangsta on this shit; iz he out now? Good shit still! My Current Rating: 4.5

08. Down Bad Feat. Savage “Mind Gone”
I still luv it (always). LOVE that Savage beat and that so called “24’s” type of beat; great idea, Savage! Down Bad helpin’ out tha hook iz just tight! Great 1st ½ of tha 1st verse from Supa and great 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse from Terror; likin’ that “I’m #1, y’all #2 like pencils” part. TOOOOOOOOOOO CRAZY here!!! I feel blessed to be in contact wit buku people; WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT a while ago I’d be in contact wit all these people?! :tu Great 1st ½ of tha 2nd verse, especially wit that “Kid Rock” part from JR! Likin’ tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse too from Cage; OUTSTANDIN’ flowin’ right chea!! YEAH, Savage on that 3rd verse!! Gotta luv those “picture booth…/that goose…/chubby hoes…” parts! Also, I like that “I’m fulla dat shit” part; just how he said it, it sounded like how Louisiana people say it and I like how they say it. CRAZY JOINT; y’all go retarded on this shit!! My Current Rating: 4.8

09. Max Minelli Feat. Mouse “I’m Coolin’”
No Mouse listed on tha feature? LOL… Would’ve heard it on here first since I originally 1st heard it towards tha end of ’09… Tha intro iz DEFINITELY watz good wit this Mouse beat (that I assume ‘cause he’s featured on tha track)! DEFINITELY a cool intro right here and tha hook iz too!! :tu Who can front on a “cool” hook? Mouse added some nice parts in tha hook too, ya dig? Max doin’ tha damn thang on tha 1st verse, as he feelin’ good! Max iz back on tha 2nd verse, havin’ that REAL GR8 flow of his when he raps!! :tu He even “saggin’” on tha verse, so he keeps gettin’ plus! LOL @ tha “Cyclops” jiggalater towards tha end; that was “cool,” ya dig? I thought Mouse was gon have a 3rd verse but it’s Max again, more of it bein’ a bridge. Still good and it sounds gr8 fa what it iz! My Current Rating: 4.4

10. Derty Feat. Lil’ Boosie “Uh Oh”
More like “lol” for me on here but this was right before it hit Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B! I heard that this iz a reworked beat from T-Lo’s “All Day”? I wish Derty would spit more lyrics; it’s more Lil’ Jonish chanting, even though I really like it! He sound like a 250-pound beast on this shit! Tha “middle of tha flo wit my shirt off, jiggin’ like a ma’fucka” part iz GREAT (was gonna consider puttin’ that part in my “Tha Louisianimals” episodes ‘cause it would work great). That part iz also from “Somethin’ In Da Air” from Beat Flippa, Tank Jones, Derty himself & Nu$$ie. I don’t anticipate Boosie’s verses that much but he ALWAYS sounds REAL GREAT! Just how he came in wit tha “I’m a dog, a beast, a legend on these streets” line sounded great! He did his thang on his verse and wit tha Derty verse, I like tha “if you don’t like me, then I don’t like you, niggah” (just how he says “nigga”)! A nice, short verse from him. Tha rest of tha song still sounds great, as he’s unstoppable too! Any rapper that weighs a lot, or iz tall, stomps on pretty much ANY track! My Current Rating: 4.5

11. Mookie “Feel Like I Feel”
Anotha HOT one; I had anticipation when I saw dat Mookie was on this CD! NICE first seconds! Iz that Shonta on tha track? Sounds like him wit those FUCKIN’ GREAT Baton Rouge sounds!!!!! Yup, it’s him (heard it just now)! “Drankin’ like a gas tank?” HOLY SHIT!!! He IZ “thirsty” for not just drinkin’ but this Rap shit, ya dig?!? Hook was on some TIGHT shit and now, let’s hear that 1st verse… Sounds like he’s SO FUCKIN’ INTO THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW!!! Yeah, “party like yo birthday.” :tu When I saw tha length, I felt like some shit was ‘bout to pop off and it did!! Tha 2nd verse iz on some MORE TIGHT SHIT HERE!!! “Coolin’ like a glass of lemonade in tha shade;” I “like dat” (lol) quote right there! Great shit goin’ on STILL on tha 3rd verse and I FUCKIN’ LOVE that “Polo/sweatin’ out his Polo” part! SO MUTHAFUCKIN’ GREAT ON THIS SHIT!!!!! This shit was TOOO RETARDED!!!!! My Current Rating: 4.9

½time: Tha average CD rating’s at 4.2 right now; good shit, ‘Trane!

12. DeTrane “Skit”
Keepin’ ‘em comin’, DeTrane!! >>> LOL, what happened to tha “Mookie Blakk Edition,” lol? My Rating: N/A

13. Delwin The Krazyman Feat. Wochee & Nu$$ie “Cool Me Off”
No features listed? Anyway, sounds like a lotta breathin’ in tha beat start here, lol. Ooh, GREAT start in tha beat wit all tha “Baton Rouge-type breathin’,” lol. See, it sounds REAL GREAT just hearin’ Delwin on this shit right nah; GREAT HOOK!!!!! Yea, “when he walks in tha street, he leaves tha ground sizzlin’!” :tu Likin’ tha consistentness as tha beat started clappin’ at :58 (right after, which reminds me of how Q-Red hooked up dat Lil’ Issue joint “Whop”)!! Great 1st verse from you, Delwin; “KRAZY” shit here, lol!! It sounds like Wochee on tha 2nd verse. I thought it was Da Jackel but it still held it down fa tha 2nd verse! :tu He fit and passed fa this shit right chea as he was pretty consistent. Ooh, Nu$$ie came in on tha 3rd verse!! Wantin’ them “blowjobs,” Nu$$ie. He sounded real motivated on this shit; anotha GREAT Nu$$ie verse! Great ending too wit tha title and tha beat ending! Wit tha length gettin’ shorter, I almost thought tha Nu$$ie feature was just gonna be wit tha beat havin’ “Nu$$ie!!! Nu$$ie!!!” at tha end, repeated 16, but good thing it wasn’t; GREAT song!! My Current Rating: 4.8

14. Lil’ Cali “Dust My Body Off”
LOL, tha jamz of tha ’09 dayz! Just like he says, “Savage on tha beat but lemme show you what a savage do.” He a savage on this beat and this was one of my opening anthems for 2009! I like in tha beginning when he says, “You eva feel like you fresher than some fruit, nigga?” LOL… He ain’t fuckin’ playin’ when he keep goin’, “dust my body off…” I like when he says, “I’m flyer than a G4.” When he says, “G4,” it sounds like Max Minelli (how he raps). Tha 1st verse iz pretty nice and I like how he says, “huh bruh,” throughout tha hook; that’s watz good. :tu Nice on tha 2nd verse, especially givin’ Nu$$ie some props wit his lil’ version of “They Hate My”. I like tha bridge wit all those “dust ya body off” parts. My Current Rating: 4.8

15. Thug Brothers “Ringtone”
We’ll keep it as “brothers” than “Bros.,” lol. I dunno here… >>> Phunk Dawg beat… Sounds gay for tha hook here; exactly what I expected. They usually give me betta anticipation than dis… Horrible lyrics here; can’t deal wit dis, especially fa nearly five minutes!! My Rating: 1.4

16. Grovesidaz Feat. Bengie B “My Shades On (Remix)”
More new shit? Likin’ tha artist name, ya heard me? >>> Betta beat here; sounds anticipatin’ for a start! LOL, anotha Phunk Dawg beat? Good shit although I’m kinda tired of some of tha hooks soundin’ like Dem Franchize Boyz “White Tee”… Tha 1st verse sounds pretty consistent on tha beat here… I’m likin’ tha 2nd verse; “Baton Rouge”-perspective! Tha 3rd verse I don’t have much ta say; it sounds good on this beat wit tha flow… My Rating: 4.4

17. DeTrane “Skit”
Cool, anotha skit from you! >>> Good shit once again… My Rating: N/A

18. Jimi Jump Feat. Juvenile & Mouse “Two Pieces (Remix)”
“Pieces”, not “peices”, lol. Pretty good beat but I have a feelin’ this gon be real good! Very Louisiana-soundin’ here! Juvenile starts this shit off and it sounds pretty good. Oh, that’s Mouse on tha hook; yeah, real nice right here! :tu Jimi had a REAL NICE part on tha 2nd verse; I was definitely feelin’ it. Mouse doin’ his thang on tha 3rd verse wit his tightness! :tu Definitely a GREAT WAY to continue this HOT MIXTAPE COMPILATION off!! :tu My Current Rating: 4.7

19. Kevin Gates Feat. Beezy Bird “I’m A Grinder”
It’s really “I’m A Grinder”… Also, a secret most people don’t really know: Beezy Bird (as I have him in tha ID) iz tha voice of tha “bow, bow…” sampled in tha DJ B-Real beat here. Anyway, still a good song today; always very catchy. GR8 job on tha verses and tha cool-ass voice! My Current Rating: 4.4

20. Lil’ Yella “Swaggered Out”
You know where I hear songs like this first; from you, DeTrane! MUCH BETTA than what I expected, lol!! I feel tha same anticipation from when I heard tha beat dat sounded like Gutta!! This iz a new producer (couldn’t recognize their name) and tha hook’s real tight wit this gutta-ass, street-soundin’ beat!! Nice job wit tha 1st verse wit his consistent-ass and even down ta tha 2nd verse; NON-STOP HOT SHIT!!! My Current Rating: 4.6

21. Down Bad Feat. Young Gregory “So Whopped”
Whoa… it’s “Whopped” (just dat) and Young Gregory’s on tha feature, lol! Still good although not too much on a replay-value for me… My Current Rating: 4.6

22. DeTrane Feat. Southpaw “Outro”
Endin’ it off here… >>> Kinda quiet without a beat… Ooh, Southpaw randomly appeared on here! Gon put him in tha feature! LOL @ tha “screwed” numba! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Pretty good; kinda like tha best of Winter ‘08/Spring ’09 for me, lol.

Review #158: Southpaw & Rackley "Take Notes"

Reviewed on 12.14.2008 (Review No. 158)

Watz good, it's ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog… on Long Island, NY, right now. I finna do a review for my dawg Southpaw, along wit his partner, Rackley, and their mixtape CD, "Take Notes." I'm really anticipated to hear lots of shit from Southpaw & Rackley right now, so I ain't gon waste anymo time! Here goes my review for Southpaw & Rackley "Take Notes"! Glad to be hearin' some more white boyz from Baton Rouge holdin' it down, ya dig!! Also, I'm gonna say this on every review I do for a while: FOR ANYONE READIN' THIS: Go check out my brand new music video, "Change Tha World," featuring Tha Wennipearl (my cousin Jen)!! It's a great song (written and produced by me) and a REAL GREAT music video (directed and 100% edited by me)! | Start Time: 8:34 PM | Video Game Playing: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (for Super Nintendo)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2008 CD Review (Review #158) reviewed on 12.14.2008 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. "Stop Sellin'"
*Gets excited over tha title* Damn, I'm just REALLY FUCKIN' ANTICIPATED on wantin' to hear this mixtape!!!! Huge anticipation level for tha start!! >>> Well, it's off to a REAL, REAL GREAT start!!! That was a real nice, soundin' beat intro! Southpaw, I think you got a real cool voice. I remember tryin' to consider some of those "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2" jointz, and when I heard "No Better Than This," tha hook and your voice grabbed my attention SO fast, that I considered it right away for September 2008. Great 1st verse wit all that shit you got, along wit everything you said. Tha hook was pretty nice to hear too. Rackley had a nice 2nd verse that went nice wit tha song itself. Ooh, you're on tha 3rd verse Southpaw! I'm glad you got "tha Max Minellis." Oh, so it's a sharing verse as Rackley's on tha 2nd ½. You had a nice part, and so did Rackley. Hopefully tha rest of tha jointz on here have this same vibe! My Rating: 4.6

02. "What U Know About It"
Looks like it could be anotha trap banger!! Dyin' to hear it!! >>> REAL GOOD thing you guys got original beats and not jacked ones!! Again, off to another REAL GREAT start!! Lovin' tha beat, and that catchy/great-ass hook from you goes correct! I'm glad you "got that dope in your sock" 'cause that's tha way to keep it a secret, even though my boy got caught like that in tha Spring of 2007. He was suspended from school for a year! Anyway, you had a GREAT verse! Now, let's hear what Rackley has to say on tha 2nd verse… Good shit, especially since he "hustles in tha rain." Pretty nice shit from you on tha 3rd verse. Rackley doin' a pretty nice job too on that 3rd verse; can't resist what he be spittin' on that 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse. REAL glad it was anotha trap banger, which was what I asked for! Just like a Christmas wish, I got it! My Rating: 4.5

03. "Smokin' Kush"
Maybe I'll just love this whole muthafuckin' CD!!! More high anticipation comin' at ya!!! >>> I like that beginning part, "what you smokin' on, maaaaaane?" Again, this iz startin' off wit tha hook, and it sounds TOO TIGHT!! You're on tha 1st verse once again, which answers my anticipation REAL fast!! Lovin' all these kush lyrics; glad it goes 100+% wit tha title! REAL, REAL GREAT, anthematic 1st verse! Rackley's start to tha 2nd verse sounds pretty interesting, so let's see what else he's got… Yup, like your 1st verse Southpaw, Rackley did his thang on tha 2nd verse! Ooh, REAL GREAT part on your 3rd verse (1st ½ of tha 3rd verse) Southpaw; just FUCKIN' lovin' this shit (I can't tell you how much this shit means to me to hear)!!! Rackley did a nice job on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse. VERY CONSISTANT formula here! Tha beat iz tight, and since I'm playin' Super Mario 2: Yoshi's Island right now, it sounds like it could remind me of when I'm in tha jungle/goin' through tha vines wit tha monkeys, lol. My Rating: 4.9

04. "Show Me U Want It"
For tha tracklisting, I'm using tha actual .zip folder you uploaded. Tha 1st 3 jointz were 7 MB; now, this one iz 3.5 MB. Don't tell me this joint iz shorter than tha others? I don't know, but I finna find out right now. Let's see how good it iz too! >>> Nope, I got tricked (and I had a feelin'). Unlike tha other jointz, which were 256 kbps, this iz 128, so it's pretty much tha same length as tha other jointz! GREAT START wit that beat!!! Likin' tha collaboration hook from tha both of you guys; nice shit! Rackley starts tha 1st verse off this time… Great way to start tha verse off! Looks like you guys sharin' tha 1st verse this time, instead of tha 3rd. Great to hear you, and it's a great part from you, …again!! Great club type of lyrics from Rackley on tha 1st ½ of tha 2nd verse! Ooh, tha 2nd verse iz another collaboration verse! Glad you got "this pill to pop" wit tha bitch. Great 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse, Southpaw. Rackley starts tha 3rd verse off also. Glad he's "got tha pills for tha low." Nice part from him, and once again, another shared verse as you're on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse. Loved tha "wahhhhhhhhh" part right before your verse came on. GREAT verse, and that was cool that all tha verses and tha hook were shared. Catchy song wit that catchy-ass beat!! My Rating: 4.5

05. Southpaw "Dopeboy Dick"
A solo joint from you this time 'round… You know I'm just DYIN' to hear it!! Can't wait to press play on my music player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>> Not only iz it a solo joint, but it's tha longest one on here, regardless! 4:28 on tha length, and tha beat seems anticipating in tha beginning! Sounds like a REAL NICE mainstream type of dirty south beat!! Nice lil' hook wit that NICE beat! LOL @ that "maaaaaane" adlib @ 1:10. It sounds like tha type of song I would hate on if it was an artist on tha comeup, but in your case, it's great! Damn, your voice just makes these jointz sound like that heat, ya dig!! Feelin' that 1st verse, and now, I'm hearin' tha 2nd verse… That's cool that you "taste like promethizine" so tha girl can keep gettin' addicted to you. REAL NICE 2nd verse! Hearin' tha 3rd verse right now… Glad you got lots of love in Baton Rouge; you deserve it. I'm glad you're tryin' to fight tha "white boys suck in Rap music" stereotype! I like tha "bottle, after bottle, after bottle, after bottle / model, after model, after model, after model!" part; catchy. Feelin' that 3rd verse also!! Oh yeah, I really like tha whistlin' in tha beat, as well as tha "what? what?" chanting in tha hook. Reminds me of a Lil' Jon beat when it's like that, especially tha Lil' Scrappy/Lil' Jon "Head Bussa" one. My Rating: 4.4

06. Rackley "BR Is Where I'm From"
That's cool that there iz a back 2 back solo type of thang goin' on here. I also like how you have it ID'd correctly as a solo joint (this way, I know if someone's missing). Let's see how Rackley does wit this shit; I easily predict a HOT anthem!! >>> Ooh, tha beat kicked in pretty nice and loud! I have a feelin' I'm gonna like tha beat better than Rackley on this. Either way, I'm feelin' tha 1st verse, easily. Great lyrics for Baton Rouge in tha hook, but it wasn't delivered tha right way for me… I thought there'd be more energy in tha hook. Not bad on tha 2nd verse. I'm startin' to feel those lyrics in tha hook more. I'm surprised this joint actually had no silence at tha end 'cause at 3:10 around, tha fade got faded heavily. I was gonna be like, "what's wit all tha silence?" That's cool that it stayed pretty low for tha rest of tha length. That hook needed to be delivered better; then, I would've liked it more. My Rating: 4.2

07. "Can't Stop Me" Feat. Mookie
You got your ID a lil' off in tha filename. Since this iz a Southpaw & Rackley collaboration mixtape, it should be labeled Southpaw & Rackley Ft. Mookie "Can't Stop Me" instead of Southpaw Ft. Mookie & Rackley "Can't Stop Me". But wit Mookie on tha track (was wondering if you were gonna have any features), this should be tha shit, …again!! High anticipation level comes back!! >>> I thought it was a 90's dance/video game song type of beat in tha beginning… I thought you were on tha 1st verse, but nope, that was tha hook. Sounds pretty nice, but I gotta hear it again to judge how good it iz. That's Mookie on tha 1st verse, and he sounds like he's deliverin' some tight shit! I'm so FUCK-IN' GLAD he "can't stop;" that's watz good! REAL GREAT 1st verse! There's that hook again, as I suddenly thought it was a 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse. Now, officially, let's hear how good you do on tha 2nd verse… I like tha "kick it to ya do', I want tha dope…" line; great shit, as you're just rappin' non-stop!! Great 2nd verse, as I'm glad you're "'bout to pop anotha pill." Now, I'm hearin' tha hook, and it's TIGHT! Nice verse from Rackley on tha 3rd verse, as it was on some more tight shit as well. I like how tha end ends wit that beat! My Rating: 4.5

08. "Big Dog Status"
Really likin' tha title! Tha ID on tha file looks a lil' different, but w/e. I always ID things correctly anyway. Anyway, got my anticipation locked for this joint right chea!!! >>> I heard that The Runners signature sound in tha beginning. Iz this a jacked beat, or a jacked signature sound? It don't matter for me 'cause y'all come REAL STRONG wit y'all beats! Rackley startin' this shit off, and it's off to a pretty good start. *Smiles when hearin' Southpaw emerge outta nowhere* Liked how you just "waahhhhhh'd" outta nowhere! Pretty nice Rackley part, and great part from you, Southpaw. Sounds like a pretty nice part from you on tha 3rd part, Southpaw. Rackley's doin' pretty good on tha 4th part. I like that "Final Fantasy" part. I'm gonna be playin' that game (tha 7th one) on my 2008 year-end countdown (9th annual), comin' up on January 5, 2009! Tha last 2 lil' parts from Rackley and you were nice. I'm guessin' since they were 6 ½s of verses that this was just a freestyle. Maybe this was a jacked beat that I don't know of… Well, after all that super-consistantness, I needed to at least hear a hook, and an original beat. My Rating: 3.7

09. "Allstars"
Ooh, this joint. I first heard this from DeTrane's mixtape. Without even knowing you guys/talkin' to you guys, I gave this bitch a whopping 4.6 of 5.0 rating!! Here's what I had to say about it previously: I like how it just jumped into tha hook. Sounds like some good shit right here. Nice beginning hook, and as soon as that 1st dude mentioned "150 down tha interstate," I just thought about that feeling, only in a desert wit a non-stop road. Crazy shit… Really feelin' that beat, and tha whole vibe of this song. Yeah really feelin' this shit! Great beat (once again)! To add to this: Good thing I gave this joint a REAL GREAT rating at first, and didn't fuck it over!! You just had a JAMMIN'-ASS 1st verse right there, Southpaw. Gotta love that fuckin' beat!!! Great lil' part from Rackley on tha 2nd verse, as he did his thang! Even though I first heard in February 2008, I might actually finally consider it for January 2009! That's right, underground/unreleased jointz like this NEVA age, so they have unlimited lives! REAL great part from you on tha 1st ½ of tha 3rd verse, and real nice part from Rackley on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse!! BTW, I also like that Webbie sample (whateva sample it iz) on tha hook! A lil' boost to tha rating! My Current Rating: 4.7

½time: For this bein' tha 1st review on my laptop since tha restoration (when it got a virus), this DEFINITELY deserved to be tha 1st one!! This shit iz toooooOOooOOOooOOOoOOOO FUCKIN' CRAZY!!!!!!! It's TOO INSANE!!!!! VERY GREAT start minus No. 8!!! I know this shit finna keep goin'/maybe get better!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'm only ½ way through this shit!!!! This review iz 5 pages long!!! Let's see what's next…

10. "Gets No Better"
So this must be tha official title. On "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2," it was listed as "No Better Than This" (which I like better as a title for this joint). I can't believe I only gave this shit a 4.1 on a 1st listen on there, ESPECIALLY wit all tha excitement that happened before I reviewed this joint on that CD! I mean, that's still a rating that consists of me lovin' tha joint on a 1st listen, but still, this SOOOO deserves better, and you're about to see better right now!! Such a catchy-ass beat wit that CATCHY-ASS/GOOD-ASS hook!!! "Maaaaaannnnne, it gets no better than this!!" I'm glad that "tha feds missed you twice," Southpaw. I'm also glad that you "started off small," and "now, got a lil' doe." GREAT 1st verse, especially from tha voice that caught my attention to add this joint! Rackley had a real nice 2nd verse on this shit! I remember hearin' this for like tha 2nd time, bein' like "even though Southpaw's voice sounds cool, it sounds like this shit was unmastered though." That was one of my first reactions. I really liked your 1st ½ of tha 3rd verse, especially wit that TRUE-ASS line, "Louisiana, boy, yeah we 'bout to blow!," and tha line after that, "I do it for my people, caught up in tha struggle." Rackley had a REAL nice 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse! This joint will go down in history as one of tha best jointz that eva came out; just LOVE IT! At first, it may have been a 4.1 rating, but now, **PERFECT RATING**!! My Current Rating: 5.0

11. A-Mar & Dyl Feat. Southpaw "Drank In My Cup"
Wow, this came outta nowhere!!! I was slowly lookin' at tha ID, and as soon as I saw tha "Ama…" in tha ID, I was like "Amanda?" What's this Amanda girl? But NO, it's my boyz A-Mar & Dyl, teamin' up wit just you. I neva heard this, so this should be REAL exciting to hear right now!! Let's see how it turns out to be wit my sky-high anticipation level!!!!!! >>> This sounds more like it's ready for tha mainstream clubs/radio/etc… Nice lil' hook, as it was catchy (and not even screwed). Dyl startin' off wit that 1st ½ of tha 1st verse… He's doin' his thang. I like how him and A-Mar say, "lil' daddy." GREAT shit, as him and A-Mar ALSO destroy that "white boys suck in Rap music" stereotype! Great 1st verse, and now, his dude, A-Mar, iz on tha 2nd verse… YEAH, TOO GOOD!!! I miss hearin' A-Mar's voice, as well as Dyl's also (and them spittin' new material)!! I'm glad he's on them "now laters!" Wow, all that shit that A-Mar be doin' wit what he sayin' in tha 2nd verse was just OFFICIAL, and TOOOO TIGHT!!! Southpaw, can you handle A-Mar's REAL TIGHT verse? Ooh, tha "waaaahhhh" adlib before tha verse! Startin' off tha verse JUST AS GOOD as A-Mar & Dyl!!! You had a REAL NICE verse, but A-Mar had tha best (easily), and you and Dyl tied. Real nice beat once again (if I didn't say that already). My Rating: 4.7
EDIT: Tha year on tha ID says "2007." If that's tha case, how come I ain't hear this anywhere?

12. Southpaw Feat. Shane & Slow Motion "Rap Shit Easy"
Again, we're Rackleyless, lol. Let's see how "easy" it iz for you and this "Rap shit," lol. >>> Now, it's an official jacked beat, as you're rappin' over tha "How The Hustler's Do It" beat. I'm likin' how you start this shit off in tha 1st verse. Can't front on that "straight to tha money, can't neva be losin'" line 'cause it's official! Real nice 1st verse. Where'd that "they'll neva, eva, eva, eva get on my level" sample come outta? I don't know it, but it was pretty nice. A different dude on tha 2nd verse? Who iz that? He said "Southpaw and D," so I'm guessin' it's a "D" dude. Not bad… There's anotha different dude on tha 3rd verse… He sounds a lot better than tha 2nd verse! Who are these dudes so I can put them in tha ID? Pretty nice shit. My Rating: 4.0
EDIT:
Tha featured artists are on my music page's comments; just filled 'em in.

13. "We Live The Dum Way"
Hopefully we can get back on track wit these beats!! Looks like this gon be anotha BR classic!!! >>> Maybe not wit tha beats. I didn't wanna hear this beat, as it was already jacked wit Natureboy Rowe and his "That Price" joint (it's tha Gucci Mane "That's All" beat). Damn, I really wanted to hear this joint on an original beat! I still really like that hook a lot! Rackley startin' this off, and he ain't playin' when he rhymin'! Great 1st verse from Rackley on this shit! I didn't expect tha hook to actual repeat before tha 2nd verse. Of course, you're just FLOWIN' like it's nothin' on tha 2nd verse right here!! I loved tha 2nd verse. This would've been a LOT better if this was a Baton Rouge [original] beat!! My Rating: 4.3

14. "Poppin' Bottles"
I wanna believe in it bein' an original beat, so it betta not be "Pop Bottles" beat… >>> Not likin' tha beat start… Sounds like ending video game music. Sounds like it's jacked (don't know if it iz) 'cause it's not tha typical Louisiana sound. I'm likin' tha hook from you right here. Ooh, you're on tha 1st verse! Not bad on tha 1st verse from you. Rackley on tha 2nd verse… Pretty good, but then again, could be decent on this beat. Uh oh, only 2 verses… That didn't really help here. My Rating: 3.8

15. "Stuntin' Is A Habit"
Due to beat aggravation, I must say this out loud: "BETTA NOT BE "GET LIKE ME" BEAT OR I'LL HAVE A RAMPAGE!!!" If it's that beat, then I'll really be upset! >>> *Heard tha beat intro and just smiled* Thank GOD it ain't that beat; it's more like that Yung Joc sample instead, which works here! Yes, you're on tha 1st verse, Southpaw! I liked your whole verse, especially tha "buy, sell, trade" part; great shit! Nice lil' 2nd verse from Rackley, especially tha "bleed lakes" part or w/e it was. Now, I feel disappointed wit this joint as tha whole last minute was pretty much a Yung Joc sample. I thought I'd hear a 3rd verse from you or some shit. Should've had just tha "ridin' real slow" part as tha bridge and not a whole, long part wit tha hook. My Rating: 3.9

16. "Slithered On The Goose"
Hopefully No. 16 ain't fucked up sounding… *Checks ID* Okay, wit a title like that, it BETTA not be fucked up or this rating'll be fucked up!! >>> Wow, this just came outta nowhere! Easily, this ain't a fuck up for me! Sounds like Lil' Josh on tha hook/sample, and it was insane to hear!! Yeah, you're on tha 1st verse! I like how you said, "I could give a fuck about an old mane," 'cause an old man wouldn't even be close to stoppin' you, ya dig! GREAT 1st verse, and now, it's Rackley's turn on tha 2nd verse… He did his thang, can't front! Yes, you're on tha 3rd verse… Glad you love that kush, dawg. Great 1st ½ of tha 3rd verse. Hearin' Rackley on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, and I see he don't like to give his numba out. That's a good thing. However, for peeps like me, I always like to have err-one in tha music business's numbaz 'cause it's real cool for me, and Myspace ain't always reliable for responses. Plus, it shows you somethin' 'cause you're connected wit tha artist, no matter where they are. Anyway, this was a GREAT comeback to tha CD!! My Rating: 4.4

17. "Our City"
I really wanna hear more about Baton Rouge!! >>> Oh shit, tha beat came outta nowhere! Finally, back to "your city"'s beats! It's kickin' in pretty hard!! Too bad tha length iz pretty short (2:42). Rackley startin' this shit off, and he's soundin' pretty nice on this beat; head-bobbin'. REAL nice soundin' from him, as well as tha hook! "Waaaaaahhhh," you came outta nowhere on tha 2nd verse! DEFINITELY feelin' yo shit on tha 2nd verse! CRAZY shit right here wit that BANGIN'-ASS hook! Now Rackley, THIS iz how you do hooks! My Rating: 4.6

18. X Feat. Southpaw "Comin' Up"
Who's "X"? And just named after tha drug… They must sound cool and have those tight trapper's rhymes! I'm lookin' forward to this, as for me, it's "comin' up" in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Slow start to tha beat, that looks like it gon be good… I like how you went, "waaaaaaahhhhh" when X called you. Yeah, X iz soundin' pretty nice on his 1st verse. I'm REAL glad I'm hearin' him right now! LOVE to hear new peeps from Louisiana! LOL @ tha "old Nintendo cartridges" line wit tha "blowin'." I would prolly be "blowin'" this game I'm playin' for Super Nintendo right now if it didn't work, but it's on my computer, so I don't have to clean anything. Loved tha 1st verse, and wow, that was a nice lil' hook! Let's see how good you do on ya 2nd verse, Southpaw… Love "movin' dem O's," Southpaw; that's watz good. Great 2nd verse; that hook comes through hard! My Rating: 4.4

19. Southpaw Feat. X "Last Ones Left"
LOL @ this bein' tha "last one left," lol. I'm lookin' forward to this, and to prove this iz a POWERFUL review/REAL GREAT CD, I only beat 2 levels in tha video game I'm playin'; JUST 2!! That goes to show you how much I focused on this shit right here! I HOPE we end it tha way we started it!!!!!! >>> Short lil' length (2:41; shortest one on here). Jacked beat in tha beginning (old ass "Beautiful Life" beat from Big Tymers/Jazze Pha). You're startin' this shit off, and it sounds like you blend in good wit tha beat (soundin' like it ain't even jacked). Pretty nice 1st verse. Not bad on that hook. Yes, X sounds like he ready to tear this shit up!! Yeah, I'm feelin' when he says, "I don't care if it's a dollar. If you owe me, I want it all!" I feel tha same way when people owe me money. His verse felt a lil' short, but it was tight! I thought it was gonna be a better, original, ending, but, this still good. My Rating: 4.1

Overall: End Time: 10:29 PM. Well, that looked like it took awhile. Y'all should've had one or two skits on this shit. Either way, FIRE, JUST FIRE y'all brought to tha table!! Easily, tha 1st ½ was WAYYYYY BETTER than tha 2nd ½ (I had a feelin' as well)!!!!! Southpaw, I'll neva get tired of that cool voice you got when it comes to this Rap shit! You and Rackley keep makin' them combo jointz, and I'll be lookin' forward to doin' anything for y'all. In tha future, keep rappin' over your original Louisiana beats, instead of jacked beats, 'cause y'all sound REAL TIGHT on them original jointz!! Keep makin' this music that makes me real glad to embrace Louisiana music!

Review #100: Jimmy The DJ "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass (Hosted by Nu$$ie)"

Reviewed on 7.14.2008 (Review No. 100)

What tha deal iz it's yo boy FrankieThaLuckyDog. Oh my God it has been 20 dayz since I did my last review (Promo Only Dance Radio July 2008), but most reviews have been delayed on purpose. Why? 'Cause this review that I'm about to do iz gonna be my 100th review (yes, a celebration)!! I wanted to make sure it was gonna be a special CD/mixtape, so what I did was I delayed 14 CDs/mixtapes in order for me to do this review first (just so it could be tha 100th one). That's a lot to hold. I'm doin' this for my dawg Jimmy The DJ. That's right, ya better believe it had to be for someone real special (he's tha person of 2008 in my opinion). I'm gonna be reviewing his 2nd mixtape, "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass (Hosted by Nu$$ie)" right now. Tha last time I reviewed his mixtape was "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1 (Hosted by Dee-1)" back on 11.27.2007 (it was Review No. 31). I feel like I bashed on it a lil' (due to it was a different sound that I had to get used to). I regret givin' Dee-1's "Priceless" (featuring Zella & La La) a 3.5 rating. That was only a 1st listen. Even tho it had a 3.5 rating from me, it wound up pullin' approximately (I don't have a correct number currently) 300 spins wit me in 2008!! Anything could happen after a 1st listen! And at tha time, I pretty much only knew who Lil' Boosie was on tha mixtape. Now I know a whole lot of people online, I talk to a whole bunch of people and my heart iz certified in Louisiana when it comes to a lot of thangz. I'm very glad wit tha status I have right now and I love that it keeps gettin' better!! I waited 2 weeks for this CD to get in my mailbox but somehow, it failed to happen. Stupid gay-ass mail!! Since yesterday, it got uploaded to datpiff.com so that's how I'm gonna listen to it. BTW, this iz tha 1st eva review where I'm just listening to tha CD without having it (meaning having it downloaded or having tha CD in my hand) so congrats on that. It took me approximately 2 years and 4 and a ½ months to reach my 100th review (as I started my first one back around Late February/Early March 2006). My theory iz that when I get to reach this point again (where I get to Review No. 200), I have a feeling it'll be (taking a guess) February 14, 2009. We'll see if I'm right. And before I start this thang off, lemme scratch this $1 scratch-off lottery ticket I got today. I was lucky 'cause I looked on top of tha scratch-off lottery ticket machine for lottery tickets (as I collect tha scratch-offs winners & losers) and I found a free $1 ticket. I cashed it in and got a $1 scratch-off so lemme see if I won or not… *scratches…* A bunch of shit! I lost, but w/e it was a free dollar. I bought a $20 scratch-off and I'm gonna scratch that one during tha ½time of this review. So now, without further or do, here goes my 100th review!!! Here's my review for Jimmy The DJ "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass (Hosted by Nu$$ie)"!!!!!!!!!! Hope there's BANGIN' JOINTZ on here (whether I know 'em or not), SURPRISES and everything that'll make this a classic! IT'S MY MOST ANTICIPATED CD/MIXTAPE of 2008!!! I feel like "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1" took 0 dayz to make ('cause when I met Jimmy on Word Of South's forum on October 11, 2007, it was posted there like it was nothin') but for this one, I got to feel tha making of it (as time went on) so it's on some REAL SHIT to actually see and hear this finished product finally (I must've seen tha cover like 500 times already, lol). And now, as of 7.17.2008, I corrected some things due to I got tha CD in tha mail finally! Start Time: 6:05 PM | Video Game Playing: Blast Corps. (for Nintendo 64) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating.

01. Nu$$ie 2 Real
Listening right now on my music Myspace page's comments (as Jimmy left me it at 12:49 AM today—11:49 PM on 7/13/08 his time). Tha player looks real dope. Wanna hear tha 25 anticipating seconds of what Nu$$ie has to say!!!!! >>> It felt like it was short but I guess it wasn't since Dee-1's intro was like a few seconds longer on tha last one. I like it. Will prolly be replaying tha intro a lot when I listen to tha mixtape again. My Rating: N/A

02. Nu$$ie Feat. Diablo "Shakedown"
Looks familiar. Whatever this iz I'm definitely dying on hearing/re-hearing it!!! >>> It sounds very good coming outta my stereo so props on tha quality & this player. Yeah heard this. Barely remember so this iz good. Glad you wanna "swim in millions / you're tired of grands." I feel tha same way when it comes to tha scratch-offs. Yeah definitely feelin' tha Yung Joc sample from "Zoom" in tha hook. Great way to start it off. Both Nu$$ie and Diablo did they thang. Now before I rate it, I gotta check to see if I reviewed it b4 and what I rated it previously. This iz to prevent me from rating it way off… Okay just checked. I was gonna rate it 4.1 but good thing I checked to make sure. I'm gonna stick wit tha original rating I gave it, 4.3. My Rating: 4.3

03. A-Mar & Dyl Feat. Max Minelli & VL Mike "To The Max (Remix)"
I didn't look at tha ID yet. I just noticed that it was long and that it was 5 minutes, 26 seconds. I can TELL it's "To The Max (Remix)". *Checks ID* Yup, I knew it! I guess that's Error No. 1 on tha title since it's tha remix. Yes, it's a BIG difference when VL Mike (R.I.P.) iz on it! Originally, I got tha original version February 18, 2008 and premiered it that night (by pushing 2 songs, Gorilla Zoe Feat. Gucci Mane "Waddle" and Wiz Khalifa "Say Yeah", off 'til tha next dayz) due to anticipation without waiting. At first I thought it was good but a lil' too slow and somewhat plain. Tha remix, which I got 2 months and 1 week later, had a lil' flava added to it thanx to VL Mike. Once again, I always feel sorry for Jimmy and what happened to tha "To The Max (Remix)" video. It's like you got Jimmy The DJ, a VERY SPECIAL person. Then you got 4 TIGHT rappers from Louisiana, A-Mar, Dyl, Max Minelli & VL Mike. You then got tha lovely scenes of Louisiana. I can't believe it was delayed a few times and that VL Mike had to get killed (WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!). Too bad Max Minelli was a lil' too busy and that there was bad weather on April 27th. But don't worry, I'm ANTICIPATED for that new A-Mar & Dyl song/video wit Nu$$ie (which iz untitled and TBA on all tha dates for it). And yes, it's MY review so we're gonna have a moment of silence for VL Mike before I press play! *SHUTS AIR CONDITION OFF FOR DEAD SILENCE*

Now to tha review: >>> Good thing this was put as No. 3 on this mixtape 'cause it's another great opening track for this mixtape! This has been gettin' a whole lot of luv from me on Youtube as a ton of people ask me for tha mp3 (as tha original iz featured as tha "Song Of Tha Month" for my "Favorite Rap and R&B Songs of Febraury 2008" video and this remix iz featured in my "Favorite Rap and R&B Songs of April 2008" video). Tha hook of course iz tight and Dyl did his thang on tha 1st verse. Max Minelli iz a beast on his verse (tha 2nd one). I always love tha line where he says "you know how I do it,--*sound effect of a seal breaking*--fresh out tha plastic seal!" No offense to Lil' Boosie but when I hear A-Mar's voice, I feel like he's more able for tha voice than Lil' Boosie. I hear a lot more of A-Mar from that voice so that's what I expect and I like it. Great verse by A-Mar as usual (tha 3rd verse). VL Mike did his thang. I have a question: At 4:06, it sounds like VL Mike iz refering to Jimmy The DJ… Iz that true? He says "Minelli & Jimmy holla'd, told ya'll I was tha one to get." Oh yeah can't also forget about sayin' this: this was VL Mike's last verse eva recorded. Now PEOPLE KNOW TO HOLLA AT A-Mar & Dyl for that!! That's what I said!! My Current Rating: 4.5

04. Kevin Gates Feat. Lil' Boosie "Get In The Way (Remix)"
Lol… Now this says "remix". Kevin Gates actually wrote me on June 10th saying "how can I get on that mixtape?" I gave him tha info to get onto it and what do you know… he's on this one!! Not sure if that was planned before June 10th but either way, you know my anticipation iz sky-high for Kevin Gates and Lil' Boosie!!! >>> Oh yeah, first brand spankin' new song for me!! Hook sounds like a Reggae/Elephant Man type of hook… weird… Oh him coming on tha 1st verse makes me notice that voice!! I ranked "Game In Stiches" featuring Yung Sicka my favorite song on Big Jay's "Pyrex Radio Vol. 4: From Crumbz 2 Brickz" mixtape. I'm glad you "might as well sag your pants." I think "saggin'" iz a cool thing. I actually dislike it on me sometimes 'cause either my pants fall all off (yeah, I'll show my ass, lol) or it's way too tight. Definitely felt Kevin Gates's verse and Lil' Boosie's was REAL TIGHT. Lol @ me talkin' about Boosie on tha "To The Max (Remix)" and all of a sudden, he's on tha next joint (this) (especially after A-Mar, lol—I think that happened on tha last "Gangsta Gumbo" too, lol). 3rd verse was okay. Real glad you ended tha song wit tha "saggin'" part again. Minus tha Reggae sounding, this was tight. My Rating: 4.3

05. Lil' Josh & Ernest Feat. Hurricane Chris "Jigga Juice (Remix)"
I'm in tha mood to do this so I'm gonna do it… *BLIND REVIEW*!! I'm NOT lookin' at No. 5 while it plays so I know no info of it 'til it ends!! Let's see what happens!! >>> OMG *passes out and laughs*!! This song. Ha ha ha!! I had to look at it now 'cause I know what it iz. Gonna have to redo tha *BLIND REVIEW* later on here. So was this tha exclusive Hurricane Chris song/feature (as mentioned a very long time ago)? If so, I'll always remember where it came from first: Jimmy The DJ's mouth (not Music Choice Rap or Hot 97 in New York)! MTV Jams ain't got this yet… What are they doin'? Glad it's gettin' some mainstreamness out in tha world. I like how it sounds real fast and I always like tha "and like a Power Ranger, I'm 'bout to power up. I'm 'bout to transform…" Oh yeah, Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B got this like last week and it censors "retarded." SMH… I like tha part "flyer than a kite / ridin' like a bike" that Hurricane Chris said (and tha way he said it). And speakin' of a title wit "juice" in it, I like titles wit "juice" in them 'cause earlier this year, starting February 19, 2008, I got real cool wit this dude Juice from my college. He had premiered some new music at times when I would hang out wit him (one being tha HOTTEST/HARDEST/BEST song/underground song/Rap song of 2008: "Bossman" by Joey Jihad & Meek Mill that I have played over 500 times (record setting and still goin')). I even discovered a song on tha Word Of South forum called "Get Rite Juice" by Kane & Abel Feat. 5th Ward Weebie & PNC 4 months ago. None of my sources (MTV, MTV2, MTV Jams, New York's Hot 97, CT's Hot 93.7 and Music Choice are my Urban sources) got that song and it was REAL TIGHT (still iz). I actually like it a WHOLE LOT better than "Jigga Juice". My Rating: 4.1

06. Dee-1 "I Hate Money"
I thought it said "One Man Army" for a sec. Then I saw Dee-1 and "Rebirth" clicked in for a sec. It's this (good). Got a spin on Alex McConduit's "The Hip-Hop Spot with Alex McConduit" show back on May 28, 2008 when Dee-1 visited tha show (along wit a bunch other songs of Dee-1's—YES, IF ANYONE's READING THIS, HOLLA AT Alex McConduit if you're in Louisiana!! His shows are broadcasted from New Orleans, LA and they broadcast online at http://www.crescentcityradio.com and you could be on tha show!!! Even I got a spin on his boy Big Money Matt's "The Tuesday Night Throwdown" show on July 1st (my song "Who I Am")). Anyway, time for another listen to this INTERESTING song of Dee-1's. Even when Dee-1 was on tha show, he was like "my father iz a workaholic." Well Dee-1, my dad iz tha same way. That's why he's very unreliable about doing things for me (mainly on time) as he works 2 jobs (3 in tha Summer) and works like 12 hours a day at least. I think we need to stick this song into my dad's ears and make him put his family (ESPECIALLY his kids like me) over money!!! >>> Oh yeah Dee-1, congrats on tha 2,500+ copies sold of your "I Am Who I Am" mixtape! Oh and this sounds great on here! Great pick for this mixtape! Great beat, very good lyrics and great flowing too! That whole 1st verse was explained on tha interview Dee-1 had wit Alex McConduit when he went to Alex's show (which I ripped tha WHOLE interview; 1 hour and 7 and a ½ minutes long)! I hear now that you talked about your dad in tha 2nd verse. I also heard your cousin got locked up before you talked about your dad. Really, why tha fuck would anyone steal money? I feel great wit tha money I have. I have like $600 right now and it'll take me like a ½ year to get rid of it. Most of tha time when it's Christmas, I have like no money left (mainly 'cause my birthday iz June 21st). *Checks for rating* I gave it a 4.3 but I feel it needs to have a higher rating. My Current Rating: 4.6

07. C-Murder Feat. Young Ready "Cock, Aim, Shoot"
Wow I'm 53 minutes into tha review and I only reviewed 6 songs so far, lol. That's good 'cause Jimmy The DJ needs EVERY WORD and EVERY SECOND of me for this (as well as tha artists on here)! Speaking of Alex McConduit's show, when tha Chopper City Boyz came thru (who Jimmy and I talked to as well) on July 2, 2008 (R.I.P. to VL Mike again), an hour before they came thru, C-Murder called in and had an interview on tha phone for 7 minutes and 17 seconds (I have it ripped). It was great, as well as tha Chopper City Boyz in tha studio! Oh and you know I have anticipation drippin' off my hands for this right here! Its got Young Ready on it (FREE Young Ready ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and C-Murder doesn't play games so DEFINITELY "gangsta" wit that title for this "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2" (LUCKY No. 7)!!! >>> I so didn't expect that West Coast type of beat/feel. Really feelin' that and tha hook! OMG Young Ready iz on FUCKIN' FIRE on tha 1st verse!!!!! Last "Gangsta Gumbo" CD, B-Raw & Gutta had tha 7th joint on there (which was my favorite on a 1st listen). This iz just as good!! I can see Music Choice Rap playin' this. I hope they don't ignore it. C'mon, it's a C-Murder joint. And C-Murder did his thang on tha 2nd verse! Yeah C-Murder, "tha N.O. in tha house!!" Well I guess Jimmy The DJ puts a REAL HOT joint at No. 7 on tha CD on purpose 'cause he did it again! Currently my favorite on this mixtape (can it last?)! My Rating: 4.8

08. Max Minelli "My Boi"
Another person from tha mixtape cover!! Lol!! Who didn't get played yet that was on tha cover… *checks*… Everyone of them got played on here already! Good way to fire up tha mixtape! Not sure if I heard before, but you know I gotta hear Max!! And I had to eat somethin' real quick, so I took a few minutes of a break. I only ate 3 oreos. I would've had more but I really wanna get back into this review! >>> Good start. Yeah, Max Minelli iz "my boi." Yeah heard this but glad it's on here too 'cause it sounds good on this mixtape! Yeah Max, you're "gonna get a nice check back." Tha whole song sounds good, especially tha 2nd verse. Real tight 2nd verse. Speaking of gettin' cake, I'm gonna start chargin' people (mainly people I don't know) $10 for a review that I would do for them. Sounds like it will be a good start for me. *Checks for rating* I thought for a sec this was on "The Remedy", but no, Jimmy The DJ went a better route and chose a joint that was featured on "Max Pain 2 (The Rise Of Max Pain)". Good job. I'm gonna keep tha rating I had originally, 4.3. Oh and once again, I thank Max Minelli so much for writing back to me on Myspace a month and a ½ ago when I sent him my review for his "The Remedy" CD. He really liked it. My Rating: 4.3

09. One-i & Jayroc Feat. Lil' Cali "Big Deal"
Okay my boy One-i and his boy Jayroc and Lil' Cali on this. Not sure if I know it, but we'll see what comes outta it. >>> Great start. Love that beat. Don't think I heard. It's hella tight!! Real "white rap" right here (unlike fake wiggers that randomly roam on Youtube and that live up where I live in shitty-ass Northeast PA). 2nd verse sounds like Nu$ie a lil'. I liked that "yeehhhan!!!" (or howeva you spell it) at tha end of tha verse (imitating a car noise). 3rd verse from One-i was great too. Very good joint for somethin' I had no anticipation for!! My Rating: 4.6

10. The Black Kadafi "Tin Man"
Ooh first one that's a 100% newbie! It took me up to No. 10 to hear somebody new so that means I discovered a WHOLE LOT since "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1"!! This looks interesting and if I'm gonna take a guess, he's tryin' to be tha "tin man" by shittin' on everyone else when it comes to rappin'/trappin'? Just a guess, but I'll find out now wit anticipation! >>> Lol @ "pussy scarecrow." Good start so far. Gettin' interested in hearing more! Okay I was wrong about guessin' tha title's definition. Good hook tho. Definitely like it!! Yes this shit iz hard and I like this shit. Tha beat iz nice and dark and just tha new sound for me iz great. Great 1st listen! I'll make sure I'll always play it whenever I get tha chance!! My Rating: 4.4

11. Big Gill (of Already Ent.) Feat. Sam I Am & Street Official "Jack Rabbit"
I'm gonna like it by tha looks of tha ID and title!! >>> Lol @ tha "bad habits" only 'cause that's like Big Money Matt & Alex McConduit's favorite thing to say on their shows: "BAD HABITS!!!" Sounds good. This iz tha 2nd time I'm hearin' Sam I Am on somethin' and once again he's aceing it!! Tha 1st joint I heard from him was "Like Dat" from tha "Pyrex Radio Vol. 4: From Crumbz 2 Brickz" mixtape. He's got a nice Bone Crusher type of feel! It's like where Bone Crusher left off, so I'm glad he picked up Bone Crusher's crown and followed his path. Okay I hear someone different on tha 3rd verse. That must be Street Official I'm guessing. I guess tha " & " symbol didn't come out in tha ID on tha Dat Piff player (if it was labeled wit that symbol instead of tha word "and"). Not bad, but Sam I Am of course made this real hot. Good feel once again on tha beat and tha hook! My Rating: 4.2

12. Nu$$ie Speaks
29 second skit. I didn't look at who was doin' it, but I'm gonna guess Jimmy The DJ 'cause of him bein' No. 12 on tha "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1" as well! I HOPE IT'S JIMMY THE DJ!!! *Checks ID* Nope it's Nu$$ie again. Love skits (especially from Louisiana people) so let's hear Nu$$ie again!! >>> Good job on that info! That's right "The Champ Iz Here" iz out now and here's my review for it: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=398001752 My Rating: N/A

½time: Perfect so far! I love every single joint and I hope it keeps up! Now somethin' I've been really anticipating… I mentioned it in tha beginning… my $20 scratch-off I bought earlier! I didn't even look at what number tha ticket was, so lemme see it… I'm gonna guess it's No. 009 for some reason. *Checks* … Nope, it was No. 027 (lol @ tha Lil' Wayne birthday (9 as my guess, 27 for tha real number)). That means this iz tha 3rd ticket in tha roll of $20 tickets (I bought a Monopoly). Very high anticipation and I don't think I'm gonna win (lol) 'cause this mixtape iz OFF THA CHAIN (sometimes if I'm havin' a bad day wit tha music business or music itself and/or people I talk to, then I think I have luck wit lottery tickets). Here I go scratchin' it! *$tart$ $cratchin'!!!* … No bonus (shit)… Shit, I needed to match a 4, 18, 8, 38, 27 or a 9 and I got a 37 (thinkin' I won)! Aight I'm ½ way through and nothin' yet… *Sigh* Only 5 numbers left… Figures, I was right. I lost. Well, at least there's this HOT mixtape! At least somethin' iz RIGHT right now (tha mixtape). It would've been a whole lot of fun writing that I won in this review, but whateva. It's No. 13 on tha mixtape so now I finna get into it!!

13. Nu$$ie Feat. Skull Duggrey, Bro Bro & Diablo "Dumb Way 2"
No error here. In fact, there's an error on "The Champ Iz Here" since it says "Dumway 2" (without tha "b" and tha spacing). Gonna re-hear and get another good feeling! >>> Oh yeah forgot tha original was on "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1". Good way to have tha sequel on here! Nu$$ie came thru HARD wit all those "*insert words here* in this biiitch!" lines!!! This joint must be goin' crazy in Louisiana! For any song that makes anyone "go dumb", you know it gon knock HARD in Louisiana! This definitely stays consistant all tha way 'round. *Compares ratings* Originally had a 4.0 rating. I feel a lil' better for this so a lil' boost iz gonna come outta me. My Rating: 4.2

14. Konfo Feat. Pikasso "Let 'Em Lay"
Another brand new one for me. Let's see if it's as good as "Tin Man"! >>> A lil' gangsta wit tha "spill my drink, tha trigger'll go" line. I like that line on tha "gangsta" tip but that won't be me in any way at all in real life. That's not an error on tha ID iz it? Only 'cause he's sayin' "confidence" (where it could be "Konfodence" as his name--EDIT: it's not an error). But this was tight. Good beat but I can't say that I love it already. My Rating: 3.9

15. B-Raw "Nutcase"
Gave B-Raw feedback on his Myspace when he first posted this. Now I can't wait to give it tha official review! I'm showin' a lot of luv to my dawg B-Raw by helpin' him out. I created a Youtube page for him on my birthday this year and wheneva he sends me video clips of him, I'll make a music video for him (I have a feeling it'll be this song and I didn't even re-hear it yet, but that's just a future guess). Well he's teamin' up wit Gutta again so I'm expectin' this song to act a "nut case"!!! >>> Tha fade in part kinda confused me but now here we go wit that BANGIN' BEAT (like tha one in "Parking Lot 2 Picture Booth")!!! Good it's not fuckin' 3 minutes (like most jointz on here)! It's 4 minutes, 3 seconds!! Tha hook iz too tight (wit that "can't give me a Tylenol" line). Tha 1st verse was REAL! Tight!! It's 8:10 PM right now (Jimmy knows what that represents)! Perfect timing 'cause of this HOT joint!! I like tha "Savage water" line. WHY IZ IT ENDING?!? Gonna tie tha rating wit that other song (tha C-Murder/Young Ready one) I rated tha best. We'll see who wins at tha end! My Rating: 4.8

16. JD Killa "N.O."
We're at No. 16 (tha one I have a lot of faith for) and I heard tha first millisecond of it. It was tha "Dey Know" beat. Without lookin' at tha ID, I'm gonna guess this iz "D.E.E.1.W.I.L.L.N.O.T.L.O.S.E." If it iz, those songs I rated 4.8 might not have a chance anymore… Uh oh!! *Checks ID* I'm WRONG, lol!! It's JD Killa (who I think iz supposed to holla at me in tha future). BTW, tha "Red Bandana" joint was tight. I know I didn't rate it at least a 4.0 rating on my review but I do love it. That was only a 1st listen. We'll see how he does on this GREAT jacked beat in 2.5 minutes! >>> He said "Crescent City." That's REALLY watz good! Shout out to Alex McConduit and Crescent City Radio & Big Boot Radio! 1st verse was pretty good but I do love tha way tha hook iz "N.O.'d"! Yeah I agree, you are "dat nigga" (BTW, I didn't say tha "n" word. I only quoted it to agree wit what JD Killa said). Lol @ you "droppin' your nuts on your sister." Good job on that boi! You passed my test! My Rating: 4.4

17. Baby L's "Pop It Off"
I think I'm readin' tha ID right… Baby L's? Sounds right (since an "l" iz a blunt (lol @ tha way I wrote tha letter; it looks like one, lol). It says "Baby L" on tha CD but "Baby L's" on his Myspace/Dat Piff player. Can't say it's an error now, but let's see how this gon pop off in tha short 2 minutes, 17 seconds! >>> Good start. I was right about tha name. They sound like a mix of random underground internet rappers mixed wit Curren$y. I like tha "dawg" parts (I always really like when rappers say "dawg"). "Push weight faster than a pipe line." That was a nice line! As soon as I was slowly gettin' more into it, it ended. Too short. My Rating: 4.1

18. Jeanisis Model Ms. Juicci
A model on here. Let's hear what he/she has to say. >>> It's a girl. She sounded hot, especially wit that echoing. My Rating: N/A

19. Lil' Doonie Feat. K-9 "Yo Swagger"
Aight lemme try this again. I'm NOT lookin' at tha ID. I see that it's 4 minutes flat but that's it. Hope it's HOT and I HOPE I don't know it! *BLIND REVIEW* >>> Another failed attempt at a *BLIND REVIEW*, lol! It unexpectically iz this so my heart iz racing (in a good way) a lil' 'cause it's Doonie!! That's Error No. 2 'cause it's Lil' Doonie (not just Doonie). No offense, but this had its time on my playlist. "To The Max (Remix)" also had its time due to video change-up and "Priceless (Remix)" had its time due to how long I've had it and new single that's pushin', "Rebirth". Anyway, my playlist has been not able to stable right (due to I haven't been goin' anywhere at all due to I'm not in college right now) so it's very hard to give "quality spins" out on my playlist. This actually was tha official last "lunch song" I played at Lackawanna college (on April 28, 2008). A "lunch song" happens when I eat my lunch at tha college. While I'm eating, I put a song on repeat while I eat. This iz to prevent me from eating & playing wit my iPod at tha same time (so it doesn't get dirty). But I had to drop a lot of songs I had gotten in tha Winter and tha Spring in order for newer ones to come in. Don't worry tho Doonie. Within tha time I was playin' "Yo Swagger", I beasted on it (as I gave it at least 70 spins on my iPod so fast) and it hit No. 1 on my Top 10 Countdown a few times in May. Also, I featured this joint in my "Favorite Rap and R&B Songs of April 2008" video. On wit tha song: I do like how Doonie said "tha black 'bauds saggin'." I'm rockin' a red/yellow/black/blue polo wit blue girbaud shorts that have red straps and white letters. Either way, any song about "swag" iz always gon be real tight and Doonie has a classic street anthem on his hands right here. Tha beat iz real tight and Doonie, your "under 18" deep voice pays off. I'm gonna keep tha original rating I had for it. My Current Rating: 4.7

Intermission: Music Choice Rap just got a new C-Murder joint, lol (speaking of which). They didn't get tha TIGHT JOINT on this mixtape but they got tha joint "So Fresh" featuring Detroit.

20. Sleep Feat. Big Gill, Kuale Boy, Dre Deuce & Payback "Watch Me Maneuver"
Aight I'm gonna keep doin' this until it works. Here goes Attempt No. 3 at tha *BLIND REVIEW*! Not lookin' at tha ID as I get ready to play this joint! >>> Okay I don't know it (yes) and it sounds like a fast beat! Vocals sound kinda quiet (like it was for tha females). Okay I hear a certain sound comin' from tha beat. I like that. It sounds like a game show sound! Lol @ "not tha octopus." I guess you're strong to be up "3 dayz straight" and "don't need no rest." I'm tryin' to stay up for 24 hours straight for tha 1st time, but it ain't workin'. Lemme guess, this joint iz called "Maneuver"? Well, tha *BLIND REVIEW* worked but I think this iz my least rated song so far. Tha 2nd verse was good but it didn't get me in tha special mood like most of tha other songs did. I don't know if it was because of me not knowing who it was, but I don't think it was that. I still like this tho. My Rating: 3.6
EDIT: Time to check tha ID. Let's see it… *Checks ID* … Oh I was 1/3 right about tha title and it wound up being this: Sleep Feat. Big Gill, Kliale Boy, Dre Deuse & Payback "Watch Me Maneuver". Izn't his name Sleepy and that spelling looks weird for Dre Deuse (then again, that spelling iz prolly right--EDIT: I fixed tha spelling tha way it should look 'cause tha Dat Piff player looked all stupid (I bolded what it looked like when I first saw it)).

21. Lil' Yella Feat. Lil' Boosie "Chainz"
I heard Lil' Yella once or twice (thanx to DeTrane) but now here comes tha anticipation!! Definitely high anticipation on tha collaboration!! >>> Lil' Yella sounds good and that beat iz tha usual good sound. Yeah "make it rain diamonds." That's different and I like it. Ooh look DJ Scotty K Feat. Knockhopper "Goodnight Tonight" just came on Music Choice Dance!!! This joint must be real lucky then if it can lure that song out (which came out last October, neva lost any quality wit me and scored over 400 spins wit me)!! VERY GOOD JOB!! REALLY LOOKIN' FORWARD to tha rest of this, including tha Lil' Boosie joint (oh now that that's playin' on Music Choice Dance, it feels like I'm typing 100 words per minute unlike my usual 94 words per minute)! Lil' Boosie did his thang and I definitely like this collabo!! Great job and tha hook just gets you in tha mood for Louisiana Rap music!! My Rating: 4.2

22. DJ Southpaw & Rackley "No Better Than This"
Looks like Jimmy The DJ retreated for a sec and let DJ Southpaw on. Not sure what to expect. Maybe I'll be shocked! >>> Almost thought that was "I'm 'Bout Money" beat in tha beginning but it's not. I like tha beat so far. Tha vocals definitely sound like someone randomly online. That hook iz real catchy. This sounds nice. Definitely good underground music right here. My Rating: 4.1
EDIT: Just to tell you, I love this one now! My rating could've been at least 0.5 points higher!!

23. Nu$$ie "Outro"
It's over? Let's see what Nu$$ie's gotta say… >>> Holy shit how did I not have any anticipation for this? CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why? 'Cause Nu$$ie shouted me out! DEFINITELY 'preciate that to tha FULLEST!!!!! I knew he was gonna do that (from a while back) but I didn't remember when I was reviewing this 'til I started playin' this outro. I remembered. BTW, tha beginning of this outro sounded good 'cause it sounded like you were rappin'. Good info and very good job wit mentioning me! Also gotta mention a quote I made up for myself: "I may be from Long Island, NY and I may live in Northeast PA, but my heart, especially for tha music bu$ine$$, lives in… Louisiana!" My Rating: N/A

24. Nu$$ie Feat. Savage "They Hate My"
It's NOT OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I see a No. 25 song also so we'll see what that iz! LOVE THIS one so expect at least a 4.8 rating!!! >>> "Savage on tha beat!" That beat iz TOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKIN' HOT!!! That hook iz TOOO HOT!!! People just hatin' on Nu$$ie and it's fuckin' gay how there's haterz. Trust me, people from my college hate on me (especially when we're out of college). They think "oh because Frankie doesn't play a sport, he ain't nothin'." So yeah, definitely feelin' this (especially in my case). Wow I'm 3 WHOPPING HOURS into this review!!! Sorry Dee-1, but you lost tha record for longest review (I don't think you should be too upset since it's ya boy Jimmy that broke it and that you're on here anyway). One thing I LOVE about this Savage beat iz that it's CONSISTANTLY REPETITIVE and doesn't get boring! Nu$$ie + this beat = just as good as tha $500 scratch-off winner I got on June 23, 2008! Great rhymes, flowin' and tha beat! Nu$$ie takes anything and does a track tha RIGHT (or should I say tha DUMB) WAY!!! My Current Rating: 4.8

25. Dee-1 Feat. Mal, Tyrel & The Rebirth Brass Band "Rebirth"
It's either a Nu$ie or Dee-1 song 'cause I might've peeked when I was lookin' to see how many tracks were left. Gonna look at tha ID… *Checks ID* … Oh it's Dee-1 and tha "Rebirth" song along wit tha crew!! Great ending song!! *Goes and gets dinner, fishsticks that I'm not alergic to that don't give me flem*… Such a New Orleans anthem right here! >>> That's cool that your grandpa "has a pair of girbauds." I just love that band in this and this joint iz just crazy! Can't wait for it to really pop off on that promotion tip!! Great verses and great joint! Can't wait for all tha moments (especially wit me) to pop off wit this joint! My Current Rating: 4.6

Overall: End Time: 9:19 PM. It took me 3 hours and 14 minutes to review this right here (mainly 'cause I pretty much put my all into every track/skit on here). A huge improvement from "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1" and DEFINITELY a classic right here!!! I'm glad to have my name featured in it and I must say that all day, err-day, Louisiana >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lackawanna College. I say that 'cause look at this: Nu$$ie, who I don't even know in person and NEVA talked to online/on tha phone (I talk to his manager A1 a lot tho), shouted me out, while a few of tha so called "spick-ass-fags" at my college who I've talked to in person at once won't even write me back when I write them. I think it's 'cause I'm a "nothin'" to them and I mean a whole lot to Louisiana and tha music bu$ine$$. I'm a "nothin'" to them 'cause I choose not to catch and transfer a meesly fuckin' lil' football and instead choose to take 3+ hours out of my time to type this 13-14 page review. *Unexpected intermission* I guess I'm in a rush to call you 'cause I only had 3 fishsticks left and I wound up choking on one. It was actually, statistically, tha worst choking moment I had. Shit, fuckin' water was comin' out my eyes and some shit out my nose. It was stupid (or should I say "retarded"). But once again, VERY GOOD mixtape! 3 surprises happened (unexpectically havin' "Yo Swagger" come on (I knew Doonie was on here tho), "Goodnight Tonight" coming on Music Choice Dance and Nu$$ie shouting me out when I didn't expect for a second). Too bad tha $20 scratch-off was a loser. I expected that to be tha big surprise, lol. And tha stupid choking too. Well, it's a 3-way tie for tha best song on here (since I rated 3 songs wit a 4.8 rating (which was tha highest on here)). Let's see what's my favorite:

What I did to determine who would get my official favorite spot was I looked at what I was gonna rate each song before I gave my real rating. Originally, I wanted to give "Cock, Aim, Shoot" and "Nut Case" a 4.7 each and "They Hate My" I almost gave a 4.9 so I gave it to Nu$$ie. Either way, this iz DEFINITELY better than "Tha Carter III" and HAS a Louisiana feel and HAS a gutta feel and HAS a lot more HIGHER ratings from me! I do like "Tha Carter III", but it was missing those first 2 things I said (tha feel and tha guttaness). Once again, I'm gonna tell Alex McConduit about you comin' to tha show and promoting this "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2" mixtape. I also hope you get to meet and talk to Famous Stranger (that rapper from New Orleans, LA) I told you about on your blog. And did I miss anything… uh… Tha old record for longest review was set on March 31, 2008. It was Dee-1's "I Am Who I Am" mixtape. I typed 11 pages and tha review lasted 2 hours, 43 minutes. This turned out to be 13.5 pages and lasted 3 hours, 14 minutes! Congrats! You deserve it (especially since you're tha BEST FUCKIN' PERSON IN THA MUSIC BU$INE$$)!! I'm gonna make sure I promote this on Myspaces worldwide and make sure I do anything for you. Hit me up for any favors! This DEFINITELY deserved to be my 100th review and DEFINITELY deserved to delay 14 CDs/mixtapes I had to review. Also, this iz gonna be featured in my "Favorite Rap and R&B Songs of July 2008" video under tha "CDs/Mixtapes To Go Cop" section of tha month.
