Review #1,747: Soulja Slim "Give It 2 'Em Raw"
Reviewed on 8.08.2017 (Review #1,747)
Got
anotha review today! This one, courtesy of No Limit Records & Priority
Records, I have Soulja Slim Give It 2 ‘Em Raw, released in 1998!
Let’s get it! Startin’ it at Debbery birthday time! Shout out to Zippin’ Zindle
for tha return, yesterday!! Start Time:
6:23 PM | End Time: 7:38 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything
after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening
to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your
vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’
topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

“From What I Was Told”
Carlos
Stephens doin’ this production… >>> Feelin’ tha upbeat vibe, here…
Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you got shit on lock, here, wit that
gutta, street shit; dope shit… Consistent rappin’; can’t deny it at all times! Nice job wit tha hook, too!
And, you were “like tha World Trade,” while it was still standin’; that’s our
Soulja! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice; still diggin’
tha consistent rhymes! Crazy how you say, “And, I’mma blow like tha World
Trade.” It’s almost like you predicted tha future fa three years later! No
wonder why you a legend! Tha ones that die early are tha ones that predict our
future! Crazy! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s pretty dope, still!
Tha consistent rhymes don’t stop! Can’t wait ta hear tha rest of this CD, ya
heard me?! Went all tha way to tha
end by shuttin’ “tha studio door!” My Rating: 4.8
02.
“Street Life” feat. Master P, Silkk & O’Dell
DJ
Darryl on tha track, here… >>> Heard this hook before; remakin’ tha
“Street Life” shit, here, and it ain’t bad wit tha singin’ from O’Dell… Hearin’
tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice, here, from you… Hearin’ tha 2nd
verse and it’s not bad from Silkk, here; just a decent verse… I’m glad he “wear
Girbauds & Polo,” tho… Still, Soulja, you’re way betta than this Silkk
verse, here! And, here comes P on tha 3rd verse, soundin’ nice… Glad
his voice/flow’s contributin’ to tha track ‘cause it’s nice! My Rating: 4.2
03.
“Wright Me” feat. O’Dell
A
Carlos Stephens production… >>> Tha hook from O’Dell ain’t bad, here;
I’m diggin’ tha wrighting on tha
wall!! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, Slim, and it’s nice; definitely
feelin’ your jammin’ vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s
soundin’ nice from you, once again… And, we got more from you on tha 3rd
verse, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, too… My
Rating: 4.0
04.
“At The Same Time” feat. Snoop Dogg
KLC
on tha track… >>> Laidback vibe, here… Snoop on tha 1st
verse, here… Lol, I’m luvin’ how gangsta to tha “T” he iz, here, lol… “Heater
in my drawers,” as well as tha “weed;” Snooooooooooooop!! Hearin’ tha hook and
it sounds catchy, like a single or somethin’… Hearin’ you on tha 2nd
½ of tha hook and you comin’ through wit dat trill, gangsta shit, as always!
Transitionin’ to tha 2nd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ dope, of
course; great job…! My Rating: 4.1
05.
“Only Real Niggas”
KLC
on tha track, once again… >>> This sounds nice; great job on tha 1st
verse, supplyin’ what tha streetz need—well, I should say, tha “real” ones!
Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty good; can’t complain, includin’ tha nice lil’
production wit a touch of funk… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s not
bad, so far; you holdin’ it down… And, continuin’ ta hold it down wit tha 3rd
verse, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, here… My
Rating: 3.8
06.
“Pray For Your Body” feat. Master P & Tre-Nitty
Carlos
Stephens & Craig B on tha track, together… >>> A decent lil’ beat
wit you soundin’ nice on tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ P on tha hook
and he sounds good, here; nice job… Keepin’ it movin’ wit Tre-Nitty on tha 2nd
verse, doin’ a decent job, here… My
Rating: 3.7
07.
“Head Buster” feat. Big Ed & Mr. Serv-On
Carlos
Stephens beat… >>> Feelin’ tha undaground vibe of this beat, wit tha
touch of funk, once again… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it
sounds nice fa a life-livin’ Slim, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty
catchy; definitely feelin’ tha “roam” shit you spittin’ in tha hook… Hearin’
tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice, too, consistently bringin’ tha
heat, like tha “gat!” Holy, maybe,
tha best start to a verse eva?!? Tha 3rd verse begins
with, “It’s tha
S-to-tha-E-to-tha-R-to-tha-V-to-tha-O-to-tha-N-to-tha-T-to-tha-R-to-tha-U-to-tha-N-to-tha-I-to-tha-G-to-tha-K-to-tha-A;”
insanity!!!!!!!!!! Nice job wit tha 3rd verse, Mr. Serv-On, or

one from Mr. Carlos, here… >>> Tha hook sounds nice in tha beginning,

you and you holdin’ this “NOLA” down to tha fullest, of course… Nice
contributions wit Full Blooded, too; good shit… Hearin’ tha 2nd
verse from them and it’s good; can’t say much but it’s good… Keepin’ it movin’
wit you on tha 3rd verse, here, rappin’ for da “cousin.” Also, Full
Blooded makin’ nice appearances fa you, too; good shit… My Rating: 3.9
09.
“You Got It” feat. Mia X
KLC
on tha beat… >>> Sounds like a catchy start from you and KLC kills it wit tha eerie sound in tha
beginning!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s nice from you, as you rap
off this eerie-ass beat! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here,
strictly required ta continue ta hold it down in a nice way! Thinkin’ ‘bout tha hook, it reminds me of B.G. from 2004
wit “I Want It”; no wonder where he got dat from… He was payin’ tribute ta you
and now, I see it… Needless to say, hearin’ Mia on tha 3rd verse,
here, comin’ through wit some catchy shit, too; can’t complain… Lol @ her
“Gimme, huh bruh” part; good shit… My
Rating: 4.4
10.
“You Ain’t Never Seen” feat. Master P
Craig
B on tha track… >>> Sounds like it gon be anthemic wit tha intro,
here… Good job wit how you bringin’ tha catchiness to tha 1st verse,
here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s like we’re gettin’ tha journal
of Soulja Slim, here, seein’ what you
have “seen,” here; nice… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from you and you
continue ta bring it, here; good job, once again… Definitely feelin’ tha random
shots and shit like dat… And, P on tha outro, here, randomly talkin’… My Rating: 4.0

lol! A 4.2-rated
CD, so far; keep it up, slime—Slim, I mean, lol!
11.
“Anything” feat. Mia X
Keepin’
these Craig B beats comin’ along… >>> Sounds nice, here, even tho you
sound a lil’ quiet on tha vocals? Decent lil’ 1st verse from you…
Definitely feelin’ tha vibe of this beat, tho; good shit fa tha streetz…
Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds nice from you, too… Mia on tha 2nd
verse, here, soundin’ good, too; not much else ta say… My Rating: 4.1
12.
“Imagine” feat. C-Murder & Mac
Craig
B, once again! >>> Diggin’ tha dogs barkin’ in tha background, in tha
beginning… C on tha 1st verse and he sounds nice, strictly keepin’
it gangsta ova this nice beat… Mac on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’

but wit a lil’ more on tha gangsta side, too… My Rating: 3.7
14.
“Wootay”
KLC
on tha track, once again… >>> I ain’t know this was “wodie” on tha
title… I literally forgot how to correctly spell it fa a second… But yeah,
definitely a catchy-ass hook fa somethin’ that’s still cool… Hearin’ you on tha
1st verse and it’s pretty nice wit how you comin’ through on this
beat… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ pretty
nice, too; gotta luv when you hold it down! Tha rest pretty good, too; props
for tha catchy tune… My Rating: 4.3
15.
“Get High With Me” feat. Mystikal & Tre-Nitty
Carlos,
Carlos, Carlos! >>> A slower, drier beat… Hearin’ tha hook and it
sounds aight; nothin’ special, despite tha “high” content… Hearin’ you on tha 1st
verse and there’s not much goin’ on wit this laidback vibe, on tha flow… And,
Tre on tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ betta wit his faster-soundin’
rhymes… Now, we got Mystikal on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ betta

here, doin’ you… Not too much goin’ on in this beat—well, it’s upbeat, so I’ll
give it that… Hearin’ tha hook and I’m glad y’all on y’all “hustlin’” grind,
here, of course… Nice lil’ aggressive-soundin’ hook, too, courtesy of tha help
of tha Steady Mobb’n crew… Hearin’ dem boyz on tha 2nd verse, here,
