R.I.P. Video #79: Rambo K Kutta

Rayfel Matta, Jr., known by his stage name, Rambo & later, Rambo K Kutta, was murdered in Baton Rouge, LA, on tha 5500 block of McClelland Drive on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at around 6:00 PM; he was only 34 years-old. Matta was movin' around toward a convenience store's front entrance when a gunshot struck him. Twelve dayz later, on April 15th, a 16 & 17-year-old teen were arrested by tha Louisiana State Police Task Force, as well as tha Attorney General Fugitive Apprehension. Tha teens were later booked into Juvenile Detention, where they were charged with both second-degree murder & illegally using a weapon.

Matta was born on August 21, 1986, representin' tha '80s Babies in Our 30's click; Matta was a native of Baton Rouge, LA. Matta caught tha attention of Black Balloon Baton Rouger, Ray Vicks; Matta started his rap career off by goin' by just "Rambo", collaboratin' with Vicks on his 2010 release, 36 Os Later. Matta kept his reputation in tha streets goin' from Baton Rouge & even throughout other coasts, collaboratin' with Baton Rouge's then-Lil' Boosie, Cain Muzik Mafia & Zoe Realla. Durin' 2016, DJ Killa Touch & Kool DJ Supamike hosted his Squirm G-collaborated Drugs-N-Jewelz mixtape, as Matta continued to put that Black Balloon on. Matta kept tha underground streetz on lock until Saturday, April 3, 2021, where he was gunned down outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, LA. Had Matta lived to see this year's August 21st, he woulda turned 35 years-old.

Desmond Perryman, known by his stage name, Decky On Da Track, was murdered on tha 1000 block of North 40th Street on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at around 8:19 PM; he was only 28 years-old. According to police, when they arrived at tha scene, Perryman's lifeless body was already found in a yard with multiple gunshot wounds. Currently, detectives are unable to provide a motive or suspect in tha murder of Perryman.

Decky On Da Track was born Desmond Perryman on October 1, 1992, in Baton Rouge, LA. Decky was originally known by "Decky Boy On Da Track" but was later shortened to "Decky On Da Track" (sometymes spelt "Deccy On Da Track" or "Deccy On Da Tracc"). Tha name change was believed to prevent confusion with another late Baton Rouger, Decky Boy, who previously passed away on October 29, 2011. Decky's first-known productions came in 2012, when he linked up wit fellow Rouger, Que Almighty. He would then go on to produce for tha likes of many BR cats: Boo Milton, Boosie Badazz, General Mark, Kareem, Q Hu$tle, Racked-Up Ready, Sherwood Marty & Zoe Realla, to name a few. Decky kept tha undaground sound of BR pumpin' until his untimely death on Thursday, November 12, 2020, when he was shot dead in a North 40th Street yard. Earlier, on October 1st, Decky celebrated his 28th birthday.

New track, here? >>> Sounds good for this beat, tha intro and how you comin’ through wit tha energy/aggression! Consistent, gutta-ass verses/track to tha fullest, here! I like how tha hook real quick, as tha beat stops and you quickly have tha DJ explain how you “got it!” My Rating: 4.6

02. “DFWT” feat. Jay Lewis & Mouse On Tha Track

I actually heard it for tha 1^st time on March 27, 2017 (I believe it was that night) while I was at Way 3000’s house. He was playin’ some shit off his phone… I never got to add it ‘cause I got it confused a lil’ bit wit how “I Bet U Won’t” was re-buzzin’… So, here goes tha official review for it…, finally! >>> Of course, Mouse doin’ tha track and tha hook’s pretty jammin’; lots of slammin’ cymbals! Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it’s pretty dope wit your aggression, of course… Oh yeah, for those that don’t know tha initials: “Don’t Fuck Wit That!” Hearin’ Jay on tha 2^nd verse and he soundin’ good, cruisin’ down “Airline;” gotta luv that highway! And, endin’ it wit Mouse, comin’ through wit a quick lil’ bridge/short part; nice… My Rating: 4.7

During my 2^nd trip to Louisiana, I met up wit a dude in G-Lane on June 24, 2017 & he was “Mr. Yea Wit Da Yea” (wound up gettin’ arrested). Definitely was a nice experience in tha hood, of course! Hearin’ tha 1^st verse from you and you comin’ through wit your usual, club/street-soundin’ shit, here; gotta luv it! Mista on tha 2^nd verse and it’s whateva; usual-soundin’ shit from him, as always… Hearin’ you on tha 3^rd verse and it your usual, energetic self, here… My Rating: 4.6

And, this sounds like a catchy track/hook wit Big Choo on tha hook, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it sounds catchy, as always… Diggin’ how this has a mix between a club and a street-soundin’ sound to it, in tha beat… Got Big Choo on tha 2^nd verse, here, comin’ through wit his catchiness… A simple-soundin’ verse to just make tha track go on by… And, a lil’ bridge from you, tellin’ ‘em to continuously “bend ova;” good shit… My Rating: 4.5

Diggin’ tha lil’ “oh-oh, oh-oh” shit in tha background (sounds like “Give Me That” (Webbie & Bun B) sample?); nice job on tha hook, Lev! Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and you got this energetic shit on lock, of course! “CBK: Club Banga King!” Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and it sounds like they have Dorrough-like vocab (“yeah, buddy”). Sounds like anotha voice right after? And, anotha? Nice “Sippi” connection, here, for one track… Too bad tha final verse ruined it; not diggin’ tha a-tune bullshit! Gay-ass verse, even tho it woulda been a nice flow fa this party track… Anotha dude on tha 2^nd ½ of tha 3^rd verse; not too bad… Their flow sounds like a familiar track from a while ago… Almost was gonna go under a 4.0, due to tha auto-tune/some aight verses, but tha vibe kept me goin’… My Rating: 4.0

How ironic that I’m reviewin’ this today ‘cause an hour ago, I was at tha mountain where I shot tha tribute video from Nero, earlier in January! Haven’t been there since I shot that tribute video! I’m expectin’ to shoot a live review on there, too! Just hate that it’s 32 degrees out, again; hate tha cold! It snowed today in Baton Rouge; crazy! Sounds like a decent lil’ tribute/remake, here, wit how you comin’ through on tha 1^st verse… Likin’ how you handle/remake tha hook; good shit fa tha ’17! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2^nd verse, here, soundin’ like a good verse, too… My Rating: 4.3

Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty dope from you, bein’ “looser!” Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 1^st verse; glad you always jiggin’, L-E-V-E-L! Crazy-ass 2^nd verse, here; definitely feelin’ tha vibe! Sounds like anotha version of Sam I Am, mixed with Mystikal or somethin’! Gotta luv it; gotta luv tha party vibe! Damn; must be tha Philly dude on tha 3^rd verse ‘cause I neva heard of this a-tune dude before, smh… Like, really? Why tha gay-ass voice effect to ruin things? No feedback… Anotha mixed review but I wanna still give it at least a 4.0… My Rating: 4.1

½time: A 4.5-rated CD, currently; definitely nice! Too bad a few auto-tuned parts ruined some of tha tracks but it ain’t fully ruin tha ratings! Luv all tha consistent energy at all times, Level! Keep it goin’! Neva lose tha energy!! Your energy’s why customers luv me at my job!

>>> Mouse track… A sketchy-soundin’ intro; wasn’t sure what to expect… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds good wit how you sing-rappin’ tha hook… It ain’t bad; fuck tha “money” shit, tho… Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and, at least you have tha energy, here… Got Box on tha 2^nd verse, here, comin’ through wit a decent verse… I’m glad he ain’t stop wit this music shit, too… Some of tha lyrics are kinda ehh (today’s generation wit these “likes” and “timeline”) but I’m still feelin’ tha upbeat vibe… Almost sounds like Mouse has a hidden background vocal in tha hook, at times; diggin’ it… And, we got tha 3^rd verse from you, comin’ through wit some good shit, as always… And, randomly, 13 seconds of silence at tha end…; why? My Rating: 4.2

Garrett Burton, known in tha Louisiana rap game as "Da Real Gee Money," was murdered earlier this morning, Sunday, September 10, 2017, at around 1:30 AM, in tha 1900 block of Dallas Drive. Burton was in the parking lot when he was fatally shot by an unknown assailant on tha scene. No suspects or motives are present at this time; he was only 22 years-old. Burton was a part of tha TBG Gang, signed with TBG Records; TBG stands for "Top Boy Gorilla." On October 18, 2015, TBG released their debut album, Gorilla Gang, on TBG Records. On October 4, 2016, tha gang released their 2nd album, Join Da Gang, on PTP Production & TBG Records. On February 1, 2017, Burton released his debut solo mixtape, G-Code, which was hosted by DJ Young Shawn, on TBG Records. On February 28, 2017, Burton was featured in XXL's "The New New: 12 Baton Rouge Rappers You Should Know" article. On April 27, 2017, Chris Brown had posted about Burton and Black Pyramid Clothing. However, on tha dark side of thangz, recently, Burton was in tha mist of beefin' with other Baton Rouger, NBA YoungBoy. Burton recently celebrated his 22nd birthday, earlier on June 15.

Lorenzo Dixon, better known by his stage name, Zoe Realla, was shot multiple times on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at around 2:30 PM at Yo Way Audio, located at 4149 Winbourne Ave. in Baton Rouge, LA. According to authorities, Dixon suffered multiple gunshot wounds while sitting in a vehicle at a parking lot, getting his car cleaned. He was later taken to a local hospital where he was fighting for his life. Sadly, on tha morning of Friday, April 28, 2017, Dixon succumbed to his injuries. Dixon would've turned only 33 years-old on May 31 and leaves behind his girlfriend and his two sons.

Dixon began rappin' as just "Zoe" and started off rappin' with tha likes of Baton Rouge rapper, Big Blaze, as well as fuckin' with Baton Rouge DJ, Big Jay. He was first featured on Big Jay's Pyrex Radio Vol. 5: Back To The Money compilation in 2007 with tha songs, "Dumb Shit (Remix)" featuring Baton Rouge rappers, Big Blaze, Teflon Pit, Racked-Up Ready, B.T. & Young Crucial, as well as "Snitch", featuring Baton Rouge fallen rapper, Nu$$ie. In 2012, he started goin' by his full stage name, "Zoe Realla." According to his manager, D'Mari Harding, of Travis James Entertainment, tha name "Zoe" was a childhood nickname and "Realla" meant that he "always kept it real with his family and friends." Dixon was featured on Baton Rouge DJ, DJ Wookee's Crook III compilation with tha song, "Goodnight (Intro)". In 2013, Dixon signed with Baton Rouge heavyweight, Travis James' Travis James Entertainment and would also release music on his own imprint, Kreature Lyfe Mentality. From 2013 - 2017, Dixon would be featured on more CDs from Baton Rouge's Lee Banks, Big Jay, Ponchatoula's Lil' Cali, Racked-Up Ready, Baton Rouge's Byrd, C-Loc, Brickfare Zeke, Napoleonville's Dirty Harry, Baton Rouge's Mula Pugh, Rambo K Kutta & Squirm G, TBG Gang & Ray Vicks. In 2015, Dixon released his debut EP, Bloody Murda (Promo EP), as well as his 1st full mixtape, Shit Just Got Realla (Hosted by DJ Chill). In 2016, he released his 2nd mixtape, Fuck Yo Mixtape Vol. 1: Spare None (Hosted by DJ Smallz).

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. Not really anticipatin’ tha feature, since that previous feature with Yani kinda had its issues… >>> And, tha unanticipatin’ feelin’ came “true”: Cyndi Lauper remake on tha hook? Bleh… Might as well not leave feedback for tha hook… Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it ain’t bad wit how you comin’ through wit it… “I smell somethin’ fishy…, tuna!” Boom!! And, you comin’ through on tha 2^nd verse in a nice way, too; can’t deny it, at times… I do have to admit, I do like when tha hook remakes, “That’s why I love you,” to, “That’s why, it’s, ‘fuck you!’” My Rating: 3.7

Let’s hear it!! >>> Q-Red doin’ tha beat, of course! Tha same “Hound” from Kevin Gates’ “Shit Could Get Real”? Ain’t really know much about them Hounds… A long intro, but it’s payin’ off with this intense-soundin’ production! Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it’s pretty nice! Yeah, you gotta admit, life’s choices are tough! Q-Red wit tha guitar’s pretty nice! And, even nicer: Him on tha hook! Definitely A+! You on tha 2^nd verse and it’s soundin’ pretty nice! Definitely a nice collab! My Rating: 4.7

Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it’s pretty nice wit how you comin’ through wit it on this interesting, slow beat! Interesting rhymes, but a lil’ too much? Like, why almost eight minutes? Even tha outro’s, like, 1:30! My Rating: 3.5

>>> Feelin’ this beat and how you comin’ through on tha hook, chantin’ it up! Good shit! Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s pretty nice wit how you flowin’ on tha track… Tha 2^nd verse pretty dope, too! Glad you havin’ fun wit this shit! Tha only cat that can prolly make “Duck, Duck, Goose” tight! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Doin’ pretty good, so far, of course! I ain’t doubt ya! Surprisingly, tha B-Real-produced track was tha least-rated, due to how long it was without transitioning… A few weird-soundin’ guests, but for tha most part, tha production’s on point and so are your tracks! A 4.2-rated CD, so far!

10. “Big Girls” feat. Kevin Gates

I believe I heard this from tha Bloody Murda (Promo EP)… Ironically, just like tha B-Real one, this was my lowest-ranked on that EP! My Current Rating: 4.2

Let’s hear it, despite tha Yani feature… >>> Sounds like a good beat, kinda like a throwback to that “Watch My Shoes”/Mouse/older Baton Rouge-soundin’ beats! Well, if this was Yani gon provide on tha hook, hopefully, that’s it! Sounds good; don’t need anything extra! Here you are on tha 1^st verse, comin’ through in a nice way, here! Ready on tha 2^nd verse, comin’ through nicely on tha track, too! It’s almost like he even has a throwback vibe to his flow, too, like them ’07 dayz! Now, I’ono if this’ll compare to Glor’s “Honey [Love]”! >>> Yeah, this kinda less-exciting than tha previous track but it’s whateva wit Yani on tha hook… Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it decent… You ain’t wanna do a 2^nd verse? Yani on tha 2^nd verse; not interested in most of these rhymes… Neva mind, it iz you on tha 2^nd verse but that was a lil’ extended of a hook from Yani, earlier… Hearin’ you on tha 2^nd verse and it ain’t bad, once again; can’t complain… My Rating: 3.1

So, for it to be sampled, I almost feel like we in tha same world. Well, we really not…! B-Real used to care about me/be connected wit me! It’s all good, tho! Luv music before my job existed! Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and it’s soundin’ catchy wit how you comin’ through ova this beat… Hearin’ you on tha 2^nd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ nice ta hear, as well… My Rating: 4.2

Overall: I have to say, tha front and back cover to this CD’s definitely dope!! You got them royal colors of black and gold on; dumb shit!! Gotta look up to ya at all times, ya dig?! Too much grindin’, to where I had a headache and had to nap for a few hours before I got to finish this… But, anyway, I thought you did a nice job wit this!
