Review #1,284: Solo Mafia "Mobb Ties"

It has been a minute since I’ve done a review. Between doin’ VH1-like video countdowns, fixin’ up all my old, converted cassette tapes, and uploadin’ all my old year-end countdowns, I’ve been grindin’. However, I’ve also been sufferin’ with moodswings and a mid-life crisis wit this music business shit, because I’m awaiting a job in tha video world, and have loans comin’ after me. At times, I get confused at why people act like I’m legendary, I have 3,000+ FB friends, etc., and am barely gettin’ people to pay me for shit, such as havin’ a song of theirs on my Tha Louisiana Archives mixtape compilation (it’s only $20 a spot)! Lack of attention, as well as those ignorin’ me, has been creating a drought in what I’ve been listenin’ to, too. Last year, there were about 120 songs in rotation on my playlist. Now, I have only 52 in rotation. Outta tha 52, NONE are Louisiana rap, two are rap, and tha rest are pretty much EDM; I don’t have a balance, and am lazy with listenin’ to music. Hopefully, wit this release I’m reviewin’, I hope to balance myself again…, sooner or later! Now that I got where I’ve been cleared up, lemme get into this: Solo Mafia Mobb Ties; thanx to Savage for tellin’ me to check it out ‘cause I didn’t know about it! Now, I assume tha Out The Cage Entertainment dayz are over? Since this iz a Solo Mafia release, iz it Solo Mafia Records? Entertainment? Music/Muzik? What iz it? Curious to know, but I’m more curious to hear this!! After eating lunch, I think I’ll start this review at a special time: 1:22; Savage birthday time!! Start Time: 1:22 PM | End Time: 3:14 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

A minute-long intro, like a commercial! Anticipatin’ this; let’s hear it!! >>> Italo, Godfather style, startin’ off wit tha background music! Got me locked in, Sav, wit this intro you speakin’ on! You real professional wit it, as well as always keepin’ it undaground to tha fullest! Glad you’re not a dickrided, sellout-lookin’ dude!! My Rating: N/A

02. Sav Sinatra “Mobb Shit”

Oh, by seein’ your name in tha ID, this must be a compilation? Really lookin’ forward to seein’ how many different peeps are on here!! Of course, produced by you, Sav!! Let’s hear it!! >>> Great vibe for tha beginning; sounds like you’re really in tha mood, here, wit tha intro!! I think it gon take you to get me balanced again, as far as what I’m bumpin’!! Feelin’ your style on tha 1^st verse, comin’ through wit dat real “shit,” or as you say, “mobb shit!” I like tha “so, what’s fa dinner” part; hungry lil’ Savage, lol! Of course, glad you “smellin’ like a pound” and you “ain’t even blowin’;” that’s definitely what’s up, as well as this kick-ass hook!! Yup, always gotta throw an “R.I.P. Pimp C” in there! When I was at my aunt Linda’s cabin, and they had a lot of old UGK on on one of tha Sirius (I think) rap channels (The Boombox); thought of you and these CDs when they came on! Great job wit tha 2^nd verse, too; you just jammin’ this shit harder than a ma’fucka!! Likin’ tha slowed-down ending, blendin’ into tha next song!! My Rating: 4.8

03. Jiggy Da Menace Feat. Clev & Mista “Influenza Swag”

Don’t think I eva heard of this Jiggy dude; only Jiggy dude I know iz Jiggy Black. I assume that’s Clever Kev on tha ID (although, it says, Clev)? I’m just takin’ guesses, here… I know Lil’ Mista/Mista Cain iz 3^rd; though I’m not a fan of this title, let’s see if your kick-ass production helps here, Sav!! >>> Nice production… Okay, tha 1^st verse ain’t too bad for a start; I can fuck wit this… LOL @ all this sex shit; nice job… Surprisingly, tha hook ain’t that bad, either; only two words… Tha Clev dude’s on tha 2^nd verse, and I’m actually feelin’ this; good job, Mr. Clev! Hearin’ Mista on tha 3^rd verse, and I have to say, this iz just okay/a lil’ below-average fa me wit obsessin’ all this “swag” shit. I think he’s completely startin’ ta be pop/over-rated for me. Kinda what I mentioned before of how I’m glad you’re not dickrided, Sav; Mista’s a perfect example of bein’ a dickrided rapper. I think tha 2^nd time I heard him was on dat Self-Made Bosses over three years ago (first was Level’s Street Credit mixtape, four years ago). I preferred that Mista… But, it turned out to be a better song that I expected. My Rating: 4.2

04. Lee Banks Feat. Shell (Young Thugga), Mista, Young Shine, Young Ready & Smitty “Get U A Body (Remix)”

Thought I’ve heard this before, but I think I’ve been seein’ more posts than usual… Switchin’ it up wit a B-Real beat, this time. Unlike tha previous “swag” song, I assume wit this gangsta shit, I’ll be able to like it more… >>> Nice beat; jammin’! *Gasps* An unsourced, Shell (Young Thugga) on tha 1^st verse!! How can you leave him out?! He sounds real nice on tha 1^st ½ of tha 1^st verse; gotta luv what he brings to tha table!! Nice job wit this hook; can’t say anything else but positive shit about this… Now, Mista on tha 1^st ½ of tha 2^nd verse… Ehh, a bad start wit bein’ done wit “Girbauds;” I’m lucky I got a bunch, but haven’t seen much within all these years… Either way, an okay verse, and tha 2^nd ½ of tha 2^nd verse didn’t sound like Ready. Tha 2^nd verse sounded like someone else, and whoeva it was (incorrect order on tha back cover), they sounded like they blended in nicely wit this. Now, it’s Ready on tha 1^st ½ of tha 3^rd verse; tight rhymes! I can deal wit this… Okay, I hear that it’s Young Smitty on tha 2^nd ½ of tha 3^rd verse, so Shine & Ready have to be flipped in tha ID, since Shine was on tha 2^nd ½ of tha 2^nd verse… Thumbs up fa Smitty fa tearin’ up tha end! My Rating: 4.6

05. Money Sak Feat. Fame & Mista “Ben Frank”

Tiny back cover, it seems like, wit DatPiff’s shrunk, 500x500 pixel size… I’m googlin’ it, and I see Shell’s on tha ID of tha previous song, and I got this Amazon upload to help me, in case I can’t see it clear… But, no listed producer? Not sure what I’m walkin’ into wit these unknown dudes… >>> Beat does sound a lil’ jacked in tha beginning; hope this don’t suck… So far, tha flow sounds a lil’ like a mix of Plies, 2 Chainz & Rick Ross; I hate all of them, but at least this an undaground secret… Tha hook only okay; we’ll leave it at dat… Tha 1^st verse iz decent for me; sounds mainstream, but have a touch of undaground to it… Surprised this song’s 4:11; why? Tha other songs were 3:00 – 3:30, and were way better!! Tha 2^nd verse iz soundin’ typical and cocky; startin’ to get bored of this 2 Chainz-soundin’ shit… What? An unsourced Mista on tha 3^rd verse? Talk about tha opposite of dickridin’, lol! I think that’s what it sounds like, at times? I’ll put it in tha ID, but correct me if I’m wrong. For tha verse, it was aight, just like this song… Nice acapella ending of tha 1^st ½ of tha hook, too… My Rating: 3.5

Savage = Tha perfect way to recover after that previous, decent song!! Of course, Sav on tha beat!! >>> Ooh, real pure beat sounds from you, Sav!! Can’t wait ‘til years from now, when I make an album on travelin’ dat I gon buy a beat from you, Sav!! Gotta have your touch on an album of mine!! Damn, tha hook pretty tight as fuck, too!! Great voice you got, Sav!! Even got tha 1^st verse, too; there’s nothin’ wrong wit you at all!! To me, you’re perfect, Sav!! LOL, how many tattoos you got by now? I talked to one of my boyz (Yung Yola) in jail, and he said he has 150 and counting; do you have that much, lol? We got that Jiggy dude on tha 2^nd verse; sounds like he’s collaboratin’ nicely wit you, here! A 3^rd verse from you, Sav, soarin’ like an “eagle!!” Keep tha rhymes goin’; you’re definitely tha shit at all times!! My Rating: 4.8

07. Bubba “Retarded”

Does that say, “Rubba”? *Checks Amazon* Oh wow, it’s Big Stacks Ent.’s Bubba!! Oh, I’m anticipated as fuck ta hear dis!! Glad you got a connection wit him, and EQ’s on tha beat, this time!! >>> Real nice beginning between Bubba & tha beat!! Sounds like I might’ve sampled this from somewhere… Definitely feelin’ tha hook, and yea, Bubba, you’re “back!” Glad 2012 wasn’t your only year for me, as it sounds like you’ll keep shit on-n-poppin’!! Tha 1^st verse sounds real nice wit how you comin’ through on this, Bubba; gotta luv dat voice of yours when it hits tha mic on these beatz!! Sounds like some great shit in tha 2^nd verse; feelin’ it! I almost thought I heard some fast rappin’, but it went back to normal. I’m slowly startin’ to get sick of when rappers just bust fast rappin’ outta nowhere on a track, somethin’ that Kevin Gates has been doin’; sounds awkward… Only two verses fa dis 4:00 track? It’s all good though ‘cause I got ta hear Bubba’s voice lay down on a Solo Mafia compilation disc!! My Rating: 4.7

08. Tank Law “Standin’ On The Couch”

Almost thought this was Tank Jones, but it’s a newbie; I’m lookin’ forward to hearin’ this! Who’s T.A. (tha producer)? >>> Kinda a different start; hope I can handle this… Not bad for tha hook; a lil’ East Coast-y for me to luv, but lemme see what I can say about tha rest of this… Tha 1^st verse ain’t too bad; rhymes are on-point… Tha 2^nd verse’s soundin’ okay for me… Tha 3^rd verse iz also okay, too; not much for me to comment… My Rating: 3.6

09. Quikkdraw “H.U.S.T.L.A.”

J Buc on tha beat!! Oh wait, I knew this looked familiar…; nice job at includin’ Quikk on here!! My Current Rating: 4.3

½time: Gotta luv tha CD so far, Sav!! You put a lotta effort into it, and I’m glad you stay workin’ in tha studio!! Lots of big songs on here, as well as some decent ones; a 4.3 for tha CD rating, currently!!!

10. Pearlie Mac Feat. Sav Sinatra, J Rhodes & Razor “In My Cadillac”

Couldn’t read tha ID on tha back cover, so I took it to Amazon to see what it said… Looks like an anticipatin’, UGK-like song wit Savage on tha beat!! ‘Bout ta anticipate dis one!! >>> Dat nice, laidback Sav feel for tha beat; gotta luv it!! These songs/titles/sayin’ tha title in every line neva gets old!! Dat quality’s there, and you doin’ tha damn thang on this smooth hook, Sav!! Tha 1^st verse sounded nice from, I assume, Pearlie Mac, spittin’ a pure verse fa tha ride ta enjoy! Here’s tha 2^nd verse (J Rhodes?); nice, feel-good rhymes, feelin’ like a giant! Now, we got tha 3^rd verse (Razor?); sounds a lil’ betta on tha voice than tha 2^nd verse, and I’m also feelin’ how this dude’s comin’ through! My Rating: 4.5

11. Bengie Feat. T.E.C. “Ol’ Skools”

Time to find a snack. I finna look at tha ID when I get back… *Gets snack at 2:21 PM…* Returns at 2:24 PM…* Found nothing, smh. But, let’s see this ID… *Checks ID* Thought I might’ve heard it, but I guess not. Kinda unanticipatin’ it with tha no producer listed… >>> It’s J Buc on tha beat; how cruel and anti-Buc of that back cover, smh!! But, from tha start, I knew it started nice wit tha beat sound! Tha hook sounds nice, too; sounds like a potential single that sounds nice… Tha 1^st verse must be T.E.C.; it’s okay, as far as tha voice, but it sounds better for tha song, overall. Let’s see what this 2^nd verse gon bring… It’s Bengie Bee, comin’ through wit a nice lil’ vibe… Even an ending, here; not bad… Almost sounds like tha Tech wit Dog Da Cutthroata! My Rating: 4.4

Interestin’ lineup, wit Sav on tha beat! I neva heard tha Dogg Mane dude, I don’t think; I look forward to hearin’ what he sounds like on this, too! >>> Ooh, a strong Savage beat start; “Mobb shit, bitch!!” Gotta luv it!! Definitely lovin’ this hook wit all this “the real way” shit all ova it!! You got a brain fulla chemistry, Sav!! Comin’ through on tha 1^st verse, anticipatin’ a beef!! I know who you can beat up, Sav! I got their #, their address, their—well, I’m glad you’re on my side! Maybe, we can talk about it via phone, but I’m movin’ on ta turnin’ 25 next month, movin’ on from dat bullshit! Now, let’s hear this Dogg Mane dude… New, different, dark-soundin’ voice, here; definitely interestin’, and I’m likin’ tha shit they bringin’ to tha table! Looked familiar, but it’s new, I guess… Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ anotha solo joint of yours, Mr. $inatra!! Speakin’ of “fly,” today was a decade ago (10 years), back on May 28, 2003, I wrote my first rap: “Yo, I like this girl named Amber. / And, I was like, “Damn, look at her!” / And, these other guys told me to slam her!!” Dumb shit, Savage!!! She even has tha same, exact birthday as me, too!! What are tha odds of that?! >>> LOL @ tha flight start, and you comin’ through ta crash tha flight! I always wonder, will I eva attend tha same flight as you in tha future, lol? Who knows! Feelin’ your “fly life” perspective, here, on tha hook!! You and tha “eat dick,” lol; you and tha “deez nuts;” you and a devastating ending to pussazzes, lol!! Speakin’ of pussazz, you even sayin’ “pussazz” on tha 1^st verse; gutta shit!! You definitely rule here wit dat consistent “shit!!” Tha 2^nd verse sounds pretty nice, too; you got such a killer voice ta pierce through err-body’s stereos!! How can people not luv you, Sav?! Although no producer listed, I assume this you on tha beat, Sav? I’m lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this one, too! Keepin’ shit more consistent than a mafukka!! >>> Sounds like a good hook from you, Sav; feelin’ it! Oh, that Mista dude’s on tha 1^st verse; it’s not bad… I hope I see some of dat “money” soon, although contacting lacked three years ago, when I had a great commercial idea for him. :( Sometimes, I have to be persistent when it comes to gettin’ what I want! You on a gonna-be-sick mission on tha 2^nd verse, Sav, like my girl, Alexia: Gotta get tha money no matter what! Feelin’ tha 2^nd verse you spit, Sav; keep grindin’!! My Rating: 4.4

15. Tank Law “‘Bout It”

Just like his last song, T.A.’s on tha beat; let’s hear it… >>> Beat’s way too mainstream-soundin’ for me; I bet this T.A. dude’s a jacked beat dude, or a non-Louisiana dude… Either way, so far, I dunno if I can say if this iz betta than tha previous song. I’m not really into all this typical, mainstream-soundin’ shit; way too much “Beez In Da Trap” quotes? Didn’t even realize where tha hook was, but I hear it now, and it ain’t that bad… Tha 2^nd verse ain’t as bad as tha 1^st verse, but if I had to pick somethin’ was tha most mainstream on this CD, it’ll prolly be this song. Almost think it’s Ace Hood at times, or those rappers that wanna drop, like, 50 songs a year and ‘claim’ to neva fall off… Even a 3^rd verse, here, and this dude can’t help but quote people; a lil’ boring… Gonna be close to see which Tank Law song I like better, but because this one’s a lil’ more Southern-soundin’ than tha previous one, I may up tha rating to like this better. My Rating: 3.7

16. Sav Sinatra Feat. Fabe Marley “Str8 Like Dat”

Neva heard tha Fabe dude, but I hope they’re good if they’re rappin’ wit you, Sav, especially since you’re on tha beat, too!! >>> Feelin’ your classic sound in tha beginning, Sav! LOL @ that mean perspective, Sav, lol! Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1^st verse, here! Tha hook sounds nice; you got shit on lock at all times, no matter what topic you cover, Sav!! Even tha 2^nd verse, talkin’ ‘bout these “hoes” and pussies! Tha Fame dude on tha 3^rd verse sounds catchy; not bad for a new rapper wit these rhymes on a track of yours, Sav… My Rating: 4.3

17. Sav Sinatra “Po Up My Drank”

Damn, talk about gettin’ robbed, like tha Lil’ Trill & Shell By Any Means Necessary CD, from tha back cover? This song ain’t even on there, and only 18 tracks are displayed… Anyway, I see it on Amazon and my downloaded file, so I’m assuming you produced this one? Let’s hear it!! Need a new anthem from tha “Kush & Lean” & “Weed & Drank”, only this time, there’s no weed, lol! >>> Really sounded tight wit that bubbly beginning, lol! Now, a really soft beat; nice and laidback!! Really feelin’ tha hooks; seems like you’re addicted to these “drank” songs, as much as I’m addicted to showin’ ‘em luv!! Keepin’ shit on-n-poppin’ on tha 1^st verse fa “Pimp” and “Screw;” gotta keep representin’!! Glad they got you inta “drank” and shit, lol!! It would be boring if you were born, like, a decade later and not’ve known much about them! Interestin’ mix on tha 2^nd verse, when it comes to all those pillz and shit, lol! Neva heard tha Foppe dude, but I know I’m winnin’ wit this lineup!! Gotta luv you on tha beat once again, Sav!! >>> LOL, back to tha Godfather… And, it just jumped into tha song so fast… Nice Savage vibe, and I assume Foppé’s tha female on tha track? Sounds nice on tha hook… Here you are on tha 1^st verse, comin’ through wit your classic rappin’ that I first knew of yours (e.g., that “fold like Poker hands” line)! Got tha Jiggy dude on tha 2^nd verse, comin’ through wit a nice vibe fa this beat and track of yours… Tha 3^rd verse iz C-Loc; sounds good on this track, too… My Rating: 4.2

19. J.S. Feat. Supa Kali “Money Fame”

Neva heard of these dudes, and I don’t really go for a title like this for unknown artists… J.S. iz even on tha beat, here; how will these unknown dudes end this classic-soundin’ compilation off??? >>> Godfather beginning… Almost sounds like a sample in tha song’s beat (like, Andrea True Connection’s “More, More, More”—tha “doo-doo-doo” part in tha beat)… But, I’m likin’ tha 1^st verse from J.S.; sounds above-average for me… Tha hook sounds catchy wit how people are “chasin’” tha title; nice! Here’s Supa Kali on tha 2^nd verse… Ehh, not really up there for me; sounds like Drake, and tha lyrics are a lil’ cocky/okay. Either way, it ain’t that bad of a song, and I’ll be nice wit tha rating… My Rating: 4.0

Overall: Before I do tha ending of this review, my mom called me a few minutes ago, no less tellin’ me that she bought a snack and put it in a secret cabinet. So now, I’m chompin’ on some Nutter Butter Bites; mmm!! But, this was a real nice compilation, Sav!! You’re known for doin’ a great job wit ‘em, since you won Louisiana Compilation CD of 2011 for The Best Of: Savage Trackz!! This one seems better than that, since it has new tracks with multiple people. I’m real glad I got back into review mode with this eight-page review, tha way they should be! Only special, quality peeps like you get reviewz like this, Sav! Anybody who’s okay/wack gets, like, a 15-minute, skimmed-through review! Keep puttin’ out dem tunez—country rap tunez!!
