As
I continue these reviewz, I wanna send a special Happy 40th Birthday
to one of tha original jiggalaters, himself, Big Scoob! Baton Rouge wouldn’t be tha same without him!
Now, on to tha N.O. wit my next review: Soldiers
For Peace a.k.a. Desire Boys Trying To
Survive, Vol. 1, released in 1999 on Dream Records! This CD was
produced by Akeem The Dream & Felton Langlois, as well! Start Time: 8:35 AM | End Time: 9:51 AM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song;
anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m
listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have
auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider
‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

“We On Fire – Call The Fire Fighters”
>>> Kickin’ off instantly wit tha “lyrical” 1st verse,
here; “electrical!” Also, a “volcano;” all about tha elements of fire &
thunder! Really diggin’ these rhymes; keep gettin’ ‘em “stronger,” like you

it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, “burnin’… like a swisha;” dope!

“Chillin’ N Charity”
>>> Intro from a movie or somethin’, here; interestin’… This track’s a
lil’ long (5:47); hope it doesn’t bore me…! Hearin’ tha gangsta-soundin’ beat

verse & it sounds nice fa this “18”-year-old; nice… Got tha 3rd
verse goin’ on, here & it str8; I’ll leave it at dat. My Rating: 3.8
06.
“Put It On Your Mind”
>>> On a bounce tip, here; nice beat… Kickin’ it off wit who I thought
sounded like a chick on tha 1st verse, here, bringin’ da bounce;
nice… Diggin’ how tha hook has a bunch of N.O. artist shout-outs in it; nice…
Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & this aggressive-soundin’ bounce shit
continues…; good shit, “Energizer Bunny!” Got tha 3rd verse goin’

“The Devil Is Your Best Friend”
>>> Sounds okay wit this beat & how tha 1st verse

“Oh Lord”
>>> Beat str8; sounds like an okay 1st verse, here… Hearin’
tha hook & it aight; not tha catchiest fa me, tho… Hearin’ tha 2nd
verse & it sounds like a track fa struggle; ehh… Hate hearin’ about all
this “baby” talk, as far as expectin’ one. Lots of rappers can’t handle tha
unexpected fatherhood & don’t even plan it out! It continuously ruins their
careers, while they think they feel more “motivated;” yeah, right! Got tha 3rd
verse goin’ on, here & it str8; can’t really say much… My Rating: 3.5
Overall: Most of this was nice;
some decent tracks but fa tha most part, y’all luv reppin’ tha N.O. to tha
fullest, here… Keep up tha great work & soulja
on fa tha 2020’s!
