Review #224: Westbank Coalition "Westbank Coalition"
Reviewed
on 5.28.2009
(Review #224)
Frankie's back. Tryna catch up wit some shit wit tha computer that I've been behind in all month. Now that I'm much more caught up, I figured that I'd continue my marathon. Today, I will be sayin' "goodbye" to tha 1993 era 'cause this tha last 1993 CD/tape I'm reviewin' in my marathon! Tomorrow, and maybe throughout tha weekend, I'm gonna be doin' some recent CD reviews. Then, I'll continue back wit tha marathon in tha year 1994. Now then, tha last 1993 Louisiana review: Westbank Coalition "Westbank Coalition"! Start Time: 11:33 PM | End Time: 11:51 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "Intro"
And to start this thang off, how we gon do it? >>> Creepin' in intro that took like 20 seconds fa a voice ta come! Yea, there's rappin' in this intro! Yea, "tha streetz of New Orleans!" Feelin' this beat, and that verse on this was just NICE!! Fuckin' luved it fa a start! My Rating: 4.4
02. "Something Ain't Right"
Tha 1st official song on here! Lemme peep it out! >>> Sounds like a "have to be scared of what's goin' on" type of feeling you get when you hear tha lyrics in tha beginning! Tha beat iz catchy wit that flute, and tha 1st verse dude sounds nice and dark wit tha vocals; undaground Rap shit right chea! Tha hook iz ehh... It's like remakeable... Tha 2nd verse starts off clean? Tha word "shit" was censored? Pretty good 2nd verse, and cool fa that flute ta end that verse. Tha 3rd verse iz pretty good wit tha "but my feet won't accelerate" part. Shit, keepin' tha paranoia goin' wit this shit! Tha "sleepin' wit my knife 'cause I don't wanna lose my life" part went real cold. All tha parts in this song were good 'cept that hook; not too crazy wit tha remakin' shit. My Rating: 4.2
½time: Only a small start, but it looks like REAL NICE quality comin' from tha undaground scene of New Orleans!! I wonder what to expect from tha last 2 songs!!
03. "Chriz Walk"
What kinda "walk" iz this? >>> LOL @ tha 1st verse startin' off wit "biiiiiiiiiiiitch!!!" I didn't think y'all were gonna do tha "biiiiiiiiiiitch!!!" shit, but it's cool; fa sho! Definitely feelin' tha beginning! I like tha sample in tha beat too! Tha "da-da-da-da-da-da. Da-da-da-da-da." This shit iz DEFINITELY jammin' wit tha "suck a nigga dick fa an outfit," and tha "polo outfit" part; tight shit!! LOL @ at around 2:33 wit tha "tha dick, tha dick, tha dick, tha dick...;" lotta "dick attention" fa tha bitch? Tha beat started to change a lil' into tha 3:00 mark. Great song. My Rating: 4.5
04. "Pass Da Nine"
I thought tha title looked familiar, but I don't think it iz. Lemme hear what we got goin' on... >>> Nope, not familiar. Faster style here, and good 1st verse. Tha hook iz DEFINITELY catchy; thumbs up! I like tha "what's up, dawg" at 1:07 before tha 2nd verse. Good job on tha 2nd verse; just breezed through. Now, tha 3rd verse iz here; feelin' it! Nice shoutin' out at tha end, includin' tha "ya heard me"s. My Rating: 4.3
Overall: An 18 minute review, yet a REAL GOOD one!! All tha ratings were back to back no less (fa tha 1st time)! Not one rating iz separated, and this tape was tha shit!! Keep doin' y'all thang, Westbank Coalition!! REAL GREAT WAY to end 1993 in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon!!
