Review #1,487: Raj Smoove "The Greatest DJ In The World Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 12.25.2015 (Review #1,487)

Of course, not workin’ on Christmas and havin’ my half-brother figure out some new games in tha meantime, I figured I’d do a review… This one was sent to my email, randomly, from Raj Smoove, I believe… It’s Raj Smoove The Greatest DJ In The World Vol. 1, released on Paper Chasin’ Organization (P.C.O. Entertainment?) & D.E.O. Recordings. A compilation, let’s see what’s good wit this one… Start Time: 8:01 AM | End Time: 9:06 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2015 CD Review (Review #1,487) reviewed on 12.25.2015 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Raj Smoove Opening
>>> Nice movie intro, even though I feel like, it feels great to do reviewz again, but still feels weird… My Rating: N/A

02. Raj Smoove & Tunechi “Intro”
LOL, goin’ with tha “Tunechi” ID, here… >>> Sounds good with all that mixin’ that reminds me of tha early ‘00s, lol. My Rating: N/A

03. Lil’ Wayne “Pour Up”
Now, back to Weezy, lol… >>> Sounds like one of those regular-soundin’, newer Wayne songs out nowhere… Nothing terrible like tha end of tha ‘00s/early ‘10s, but just basic… Still, kinda long? No comment on tha rest of this boring shit… My Rating: 2.0

04. Paasky feat. Kourtney Heart “Negus”
>>> Not really anticipating R&B on this mixtape… Once tha rappin’ comes in, it only sounds decent; nothin’ strikin’ at all… It says, “Nigga,” on tha hook, but it’s titled “Negus,” lol? My Rating: 1.8

05. Raw Dizzy feat. Kidd Kidd “Ball”
! >>> Diggin’ tha start, so far; best from this mixtape, so far! Good shit from Dizzy on tha 1st verse, here; good, consistent rappin’ at its finest… Tha 2nd verse sounds good on this, too, as well as tha simple hook… Hearin’ Kidd on tha 3rd verse and it ain’t bad, here; still betta than tha previous jointz on here! My Rating: 3.9

06. Kris Baptiste “No Play”
>>> Almost sounds like Drake to me… Hearin’ tha verse and it ain’t too bad, so far… Tha rhymes sound kinda catchy, but at tha same time, sound kinda typical… Tha hook’s shitty to me; no need for dumbass voice effects! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, though nothin’ that’ll capture me; almost has a Big Sean-like flow, now… My Rating: 3.1

07. LG feat. Kidd Kidd & Jay The Cool “Shive”
>>> Sounds like somethin’ comin’ from tha streets of N.O., here, fa tha 2010s… Not too bad with tha 1st verse, here; at least it ain’t terrible… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s nice; nothin’ much ta say about it… Hearin’ Kidd on tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty consistent in tha beginning with tha “test up” shit. LOL @ tha reference ta “Neva Eva” during tha last parts of tha 2nd verse; nice! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from Jay and it’s nice with tha rappin’, but it’s ehh, as far as catchiness… My Rating: 3.7

08. Gus & Buddy “Each Ova”
>>> Ain’t know this “Buddy” passed… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s okay; hearin’ tha 1st verse and this a-tune shit doesn’t go with me!! Not likin’ tha 2nd verse’s voice, too; no interest in this! OMG, a 3rd verse? Why?! Was gonna rate it a 1.1 but I’ll go even lower now!! My Rating: 1.0

09. Curren$y feat. Lil’ Wayne & August Alsina “Bottom Of The Bottle”
This more of a crossover-soundin’ song fa Mr. $y, even though I’m startin’ to like it more. Odd to see it on Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B vs. Music Choice Rap, but that’s how it be, sometimes… My Current Rating: 4.2

10. Paco Troxclair “Duffy”
Glad this word’s back! >>> Kinda has an old-school vibe to it in tha beat, a lil’; almost reminded me of “Here I Go” with tha bass… Shit sounds nice on tha 1st verse and tha hook’s on-n-poppin’! Definitely diggin’ tha great vibes of “goin’ duffy,” here! Too bad err-body abandoned tha “duffy” term ta just “get money,” now, smh! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice fa tha “Uptown” ones, as this Paco dude says! Tha 3rd verse pretty nice, too, even though in my opinion, what would make this mixtape more consistent with tha soundin’ iz if most of tha songs were two-verse songs! My Rating: 4.2

11. Hot Boy Turk feat. Lil’ Wayne “You Mad Yet”
>>> Sounds aight, so far, with Wayne on tha hook, minus tha “money” garbage… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, here (Turk), and it sounds nice ova this beat… “I bubble like Jacuzzi;” nice! Pretty nice joint, overall; startin’ ta dig tha Wayne hook even more… Uh oh, here he comes on tha 2nd verse, too; can he handle it? Ehh, randomness, here… “My niggas move weight like Kelly Clarkson;” weak line/reference? An okay/almost-weak verse fa me… My Rating: 3.8

½time: Not too great of a start, so far, as there’s a bunch of decent tracks and a bunch of weak ones… Still, we’re movin’ through this! A 3.1-rated CD, currently.

12. Tre G “She Say She Love Me”
>>> This sounds good; nice lil’ dark sound, here… I’ono why but this voice almost reminds me of Lil’ Keke, at times? Not really diggin’ tha hook with tha “know I’m gettin’ money” shit but other than that, it’s decent… SMH @ 1:45 where “shit” iz censored! My Rating: 3.4

13. B Streezy “100”
>>> Kinda on tha R&B vibe fa me, but that’s what I expected from him, too; not tha best start fa me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t too bad; kinda feelin’ this slow beat… Tha 2nd verse’s not bad, but I feel like nothin’s capturin’ me with this one, either… My Rating: 2.6

14. Kourtney Heart “Villain”
>>> Kinda a strange-soundin’ song fa me with hearin’ her as a “villain,” but this sounds really catchy for an R&B song, lol. Definitely feelin’ all tha catchy vocals and sound, here, lol, especially that chorus/title! My Rating: 4.2

15. Flighteous “Right There”
>>> Just a decent-soundin’ song, here, between tha beat and tha rappin’… My Rating: 2.8

16. Kevin Gates “Kno One”
LOL! Would’ve heard it for tha 1st time here if I wasn’t workin’ six dayz a week and carin’ about some stupid bitch that I put my all into, earlier this year! But yeah, just like tha Curren$y song, this anotha crossover one that’s on Hip-Hop And R&B vs. Rap (Music Choice). Kinda soft, but kinda good, at tha same time. P.S.: Nice drop; wish he would’ve done one for me in tha past! My Current Rating: 4.0

17. Dee-1 feat. Jones “Show On The Road”
>>> Nice lil’ strong hook with tha beat and everything; excellent start! Nice lil’ 1st verse from Dee, here, strictly stayin’ motivated to “tha road!” Luv when I hit “tha road,” but it only has been to limited areas nearby, so far, such as Pennsylvania & New York… And, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice from Dee, here; nice job, guys! My Rating: 4.3

18. Kidd Kidd “N.O. (Right On Time)”
>>> Sounds catchy with tha “burps” and all that, lol? Nice 1st verse but tha hook’s just basic fa me; I get it! “That check!” My Rating: 3.5

19. Sheba Songs “Restraining Order”
>>> Not feelin’ this a-tune garbage at all!! Couldn’t tell if it was a female or male at first, but it’s a chick; bleh…! My Rating: 1.0

20. 5th Ward Weebie & Big Choo “Lurkin’”
This one looks like it gon be good! >>> Nice drop in tha beginning but lost all interest in this once I heard tha “Don’t Tell ‘Em” beat intro… Unless this can be a lil’ bounce-y, it could have a comeback…, maybe… Well, it looks like tha beat’s changin’ up a bunch of times; not bad for a bounce track… I’ono, this kinda boring fa me, overall; thought it was gon be a brand-new-soundin’ track… My Rating: 3.0

21. Kourtney Heart “Life Of The Party (Beat Back Remix)”
>>> I figured it was gon be bounce after tha previous joint on here… Kinda sounds nice ta hear; can’t complain… Again, anotha nice hook; great fa an R&B joint. Tha rest of this kinda drags on; like, it could’ve been shorter? My Rating: 3.3

22. Tunechi “Outro”
>>> Soundin’ nice and fulla dat shit! Really random and long fa an ending, but you know I luv when I hear Wayne talkin’! In tha end, afta all this “bag”-searchin’, Wayne “fucked this bitch;” bow!! My Rating: N/A

Overall: For tha most part, this mixtape was just touchin’ average at its best… A few R&B vibes got in tha way fa me, while there was a-tune garbage and shit. But, a few nice tracks, at least… And, this has been anotha FTLD review!

Review #1,431: Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. "The Gift & The Curse"

Reviewed on 1.31.2015 (Review #1,431)

Just a few more hours before tha month ends… This CD I finna review from 2013 and it’s sponsored by P.C.O. Entertainment, once again: Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. The Gift & The Curse! Start Time: 6:03 PM | End Time: 6:42 PM

© 2015 CD Review (Review #1,431) reviewed on 1.31.2015 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Gift & The Curse”
Without tha “The,” lol? >>> Nice piano to start this off… Sounds like we slowed thangz down since tha Luv 4 Da Streets disc… Tha hook sounds nice, and even though tha beat’s nice, it sounds like this gon be more on a boring level than tha Luv 4 Da Streets songs? Either way, I fux witcha, Dizzy; gotta feel your rhymes on tha 1st verse, includin’ those “cops sirens” at 1:17, lol… Oh, and no hook, here? Yeah, this gon be boring fa 5:15; that’s real long, especially wit no features… Overall, great rhymes, but too long fa an intro track! My Rating: 3.5

02. “Geto Boyz” feat. Raj Smoove
Here comes tha Smoove in tha beginning of tha disc, once again… >>> Instantly started, here, with anotha slower-soundin’ beat… Nice rhymes, once again, though this kinda boring, too… Damn, anotha one without a hook? Oh, I hear it, but damn, no transition in tha beat? Yuck… Nice mixin’ from Raj toward tha end of this track… My Rating: 3.1

03. “Shit 2getha” feat. UTP Skip
Yeah! >>> Pretty aggressive wit tha beginning and that’s “Fuck you” movie sample in tha beginning… Okay, this sounds much betta; hearin’ an actual hook with a beat transition first, and it sounds nice! Yeah, I have ta agree wit this title, especially during 2013, when I ain’t have my “shit 2getha!” I was dick-suckin’ this dude (and, when I say that, I mean, “Dickridin’,” but I stress my vulgar wording due to I got screwed in tha end) from Baton Rouge, who’s a rapper/producer. He still owes me $400 for me savin’ his career and it sux how tha whole year was him, him, him, and he blocked me! It’s like, R.I.P. 2013 fa me! Anyway, nice shit from you on tha 1st verse, Dizzy; gotta feel how you puttin’ it down on tha track, here… Hearin’ Skip on tha 2nd verse and he’s got tha aggressive voice, too; gotta luv how he comes through hard on tha track! Dizzy, here you are on tha 3rd verse (almost thought tha whole UTP was on this, accordin’ to tha ID, but it just says, “UTP Skip,” which iz just Skip); nice job, Diz! And, endin’ it wit a quick lil’ snippet from that movie, once again… My Rating: 4.2

04. “Bananaz”
Whoooooot!! >>> Beat Doctor on tha beat, here… Diggin’ tha beat, here; a catchier, slower beat with a nice hook wit you goin’ “bananaz!” Wow @ tha 1st verse: “Eat your body like… cancer;” interestin’ how you spit dat… Once again, you doin’ a nice job wit tha 1st verse, spittin’ like you need to spit rhymes… Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re ready fa tha hoes, here, wit how you describin’ their actions as “bananaz,” lol… “Bitch, I’m from New Orleans, hear it in my grammar;” already! “Ya heard me!” A nice lil’ bridge/outro, here, with those few spots you mentioned dat go “bananaz.” LOL, there weren’t that many spots… Also, hope there’s a faster-soundin’ song on this CD, too…; you need them faster club bangaz, Dizzy! My Rating: 4.1

05. “So Faded” feat. Mugsy & Rantz Davis
>>> Sounds nice and scary for tha beginning beat… Um, it went from a gay-soundin’ voice in tha bcakground to a hot-soundin’, synth-soundin’ beat! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, Dizzy, handlin’ tha beat well…! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s that voice… Even though it sounds weird, at least tha beat and tha content of bein’ “faded” sounds nice! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice, too, here; good shit… Hearin’ Mugsy on tha 3rd verse and it’s good, even though tha Luv 4 Da Streets times sounded catchier… My Rating: 4.2

½time: This album was off to a boring start, but it picked up slightly toward tha 2nd ¼… So far, tha CD rating’s at a 3.8; let’s keep this goin’…

06. “Ever Since” feat. Kourtney Heart
Once I saw Kourtney’s name, I instantly thought of Magnolia Shorty… >>> Not feelin’ tha beginning beat; sounds real soft… Even though this has a bounce vibe in tha beat, I’m not really into this. Kourtney ain’t too bad, like a Jennifer Hudson on tha hook, but I’m not too crazy about this R&B-soundin’ shit… Here’s you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like you’ve been inflicted by your “brother” and his death… Okay, a quicker verse, this time; at least it’s not that long… Here’s tha 2nd verse and did “fuck” get censored? An okay verse… Even got Kourtney on tha lil’ bridge, here, missin’ ‘emMy Rating: 2.8

07. “Downtown Nigga” feat. 8-9 Boyz & Kidd Kidd
Nice collab? >>> Samplin’ SWV and their “Downtown,” here; makes sense… I’m diggin’ how y’all turned this into a 2013 version, fa tha N.O., here… Hearin’ tha beginning and it sounds nice… Okay, keepin’ it goin’ wit these 8-9 Boyz; sound okay to hear… Glad to hear that err-body on they grind… Good ta hear you, too, here… Kidd on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ good ta collab wit, as well. Props fa shoutin’ out Sess 4-5’s “Nuthin’ But Fire Records,” too. My Rating: 4.2

08. “Fuck A Hook” feat. Paasky & 3D Na’Tee
Before tha “Hot Nigga” no-hook song, lol? >>> Beat’s only decent, here, but it works… Here you are on tha 1st verse and you’re comin’ through wit some nice shit, at least… Either way, this just a decent combination, between tha verse and tha beat; nothing striking for me… No “hook,” just like tha title, and it’s Paasky on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit regular-soundin’ rhymes… We got Na’Tee on tha 3rd verse, here, and she’s got some nice rhymes, here… Yeah, how can they call her “average?” She’s always been holdin’ tha rhymes down! My Rating: 3.8

09. “24/7” feat. Mugsy & Teco
Nice collab, once again? >>> Sounds nice with a B.G. sample and that “24/7” repeatin’ on tha hook, as well as Teco holdin’ tha hook down, on this beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good from you, Diz; keep holdin’ it down… Hearin’ Mugsy on tha 2nd verse and it’s an okay verse fa me; tha flow’s a lil’ catchy, with how it’s delivered… You’re on tha 3rd verse, here, Dizzy…; ehh, it’s okay. I mean, there’s nothin’ wrong wit this joint; it just doesn’t strike me easily, like tha older songs… Oh yeah, I like when tha “7” repeats, in tha beat, like, “7—7—7—7—7—7—7,” lol… My Rating: 3.7

10. “2 Fli”
Yup! >>> Beat’s a lil’ soft for this ending track, which kinda fits… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like it passes tha test, at least… Bleh, a sample on tha hook; it’s whateva… Tha 2nd verse’s only okay, too; nothin’ special, here… My Rating: 2.5

Overall: I’ono… This was just a decent album for me; nothin’ really strikin’ outta it… Only a 4.2’s my highest rating? I’ono… Prolly could’ve had a few faster beats, but not really on tha R&B side… Also, a few tracks bored me with too many rhymes and a lack of transitioning tha beats… But, hopefully, you’ll be hittin’ me up when you drop a new disc; lemme know!

Rankings:

10.       “2 Fli” 2.5
09.       “Ever Since” feat. Kourtney Heart 2.8

Review #1,430: Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. & Mugsy "Luv 4 Da Streets"

Reviewed on 1.31.2015 (Review #1,430)

Don’t really got time for any reviewz, especially since I’m swappin’ one of my dayz to come in tomorrow, but lemme get into this: Sponsored by P.C.O. Entertainment, here’s a random review just to get outta tha way. From 2009, this iz Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. & Mugsy Luv 4 Da StreetsStart Time: 4:21 PM | End Time: 5:21 PM

01. Intro (Raj Smoove)
>>> Nice intro from Raj, includin’ this beat in tha background… My Rating: N/A

02. “Love For The Streets” feat. Nutt Da Kidd
Lemme see… >>> Really diggin’ tha singin’; prolly would’ve added it if I would’ve known it in 2009! Definitely a catchy-ass hook for “tha streets!” Here’s Dizzy on tha 1st verse, comin’ through, hittin’ “tha club wit [his] fitted and a fresh white tee;” whoot! Gotta keep all those fresh styles alive and not regular clothes! Rappers and celebrities like me ‘posed to be special, above tha normal people! Sucks that they “wanna Soulja-Slim [Nutt],” but he spittin’ some nice rhymes fa “tha streets” on tha 2nd verse! Great shit, right chea! Lots of consistency for this ’09 tracks, all about “tha streets!” Tha 3rd verse’s Muggs and they sound like a heavier-set dude, lol? Nice verse from this P.C.O. reprasenta, since they said, “P.C.O., we in tha buildin’!” LOL @ how it went silent when he said, “Bitch…bitch…bitch…,” and then, tha hook came back on; whoot!! Whoot!! My Rating: 4.7

03. We Got Love
>>> Eatin’ somethin’ in tha beginning? Sounds like a skit, though I thought it was a song… Nice lil’ skit, feelin’ in tha zone! LOL @ “Myspace;” that song was only two years old at tha time, but felt so long ago! Like, right now, this CD’s six years old, but it seems like tha same age difference as tha two years ago with “Myspace” when this mixtape dropped, lol. My Rating: N/A

04. “Bish Wazam”
! >>> Nice hook and really-nice beat, here; definitely diggin’ tha true, southern quality, here! Gotta luv tha title and tha “wazam!” Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some catchy rhymes and deliverin’ ‘em nicely! Here’s Mugsy on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some nice G-shit! LOL, “Damn, Muggs, you do more than rap;” that’s nice! It’s all about doin’ as much as you can in media! Mo from Mugsy on tha 3rd verse—okay, alternatin’ between Dizzy & Mugsy on tha 3rd verse; nice! A quick verse, but tha alternation worked! My Rating: 4.4

05. “How Ya Feel”
>>> Ooh, a “pill”-poppin’ anthem? Even “smoke dat kill?” And, “ya rounds?” Gotta luv this hook! A regular-soundin’ hook ova this catchy beat, but you gotta luv tha content!! Tha 1st verse from Muggs sounds nice! “This purple won’t get me higher;” gotta agree! Once it hits throw-up levels, you’ve basically maxed yourself out, lol! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, as well; great job, Mugsy, fa holdin’ shit down… Now, time fa some Dizzy on tha 3rd verse: “Muthafuck how a nigga feel;” diggin’ tha aggression! Gotta luv pickin’ up hours at my job, but I hate when I can’t get overtime, at times! Like, I’m glad I’m pickin’ up more hours tomorrow, but I hate that I gotta give up one of my dayz, during tha week; I ain’t that over on hours! Only 35 a week? Damn… My Rating: 4.3

06. This Shit Right Chere
>>> A nice interlude wit shout outs… LOL, “You don’t like it? Suck unda my nuts;” nice and raw, like Dizzy provides it, lol! My Rating: N/A

07. “N2U” feat. Kangol Slim
>>> A bounce-influenced song, though I’m not diggin’ Kangol singin’ on tha hook… Hearin’ Dizzy on tha 1st verse…; it’s whateva… I mean, great for bouncin’, but that singin’ kinda pushes me away from “diggin’” this… Mugsy on tha 2nd verse, here, encounterin’ a chick…; not bad… Dizzy on tha 3rd verse, with a “pistol”-sized “dick,” lol… This verse sounds real nice ova tha beat; nice flow… My Rating: 3.2

08. “Get High”
LOL, 2009 was tha 1st year I smoked weed. However, I ain’t “get high” ‘til 2013 and last year, it mainly took off, thanx to workin’, connections, my cousins gettin’ older & my friend from NY comin’ back into my life. And, I have to say, it’s all about celebratin’!! >>> Beat intro sounds like a nice sample; I’m definitely anticipatin’ this one! Well, I shouldn’t’ve bragged too much about a sample ‘cause there’s an actual vocal sample on tha hook… Likin’ how y’all say, “We get high,” and tha sample sounds like a lil’ baby openin’ its mouth, lol? I’m weird with my feedback and I luv it… Tha 1st verse’s Mugsy and it sounds nice to hear on this beat; nice and decent… I like tha “hiiiiiiiiiigh” lil’ intense climax at 1:07, a few bars before tha 1st verse ended! Dizzy on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with a way to “ease tha pain.” Sounds good, even though my highs are usually for my socializing, a great enhancer! LOL @ “Styles P” and his song. They had to make his song, “I get by…by…by…by…” Meanwhile, Tove Lo pulled through for tha pop world, last year, with, “You’re gone and I gotta stay high, all tha time,” lol! We’re much more accepting in this current world, now, lol! My Current Rating: 4.4
EDIT: LOL, only a 4.0 when I reviewed it, back on tha On The Inside Looking Out CD? Ain’t realize I remember this one; I “get high” now, so no wonder why my rating’s higher, lol!

09. What Would I Be Without Y’all
>>> Nice lil’ interlude! Yeah, “what would [y’all] be without [me],” FrankieThaLuckyDog? My Rating: N/A

10. “Yeah Bitch (Remix)” feat. Lil’ Wayne
>>> Nice beat… Weird hearin’ this Wayne voice and it’s weird that his voice changed ova these years… It’s always seemed like nothin’ has changed much ‘cause he neva has taken a year off… Anyway, tha hook’s catchy; “yeah, bitch!!” Dizzy, you did a nice job on tha hook and now, you shinin’ on ‘em on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit them rhymes fa a star… Here comes Wayne on tha 2nd verse… OMG, it reminds me of an ’07 Wayne, with tha voice… Tha punchlines are still nice to hear; can’t complain, here… Tha 3rd verse sounds pretty nice to hear from Dizzy, as well; good shit! Yeah, back when “we gettin’ money” was nice and innocent! I got robbed $555 in 2011 & $400 in 2013, just fa bookin’ and helpin’ bitch-made people from BR’s careers out, smfh! My Current Rating: 4.3
EDIT: Ain’t realize I reviewed this back on tha On The Inside Looking Out CD, back in ’08, on time, lol…

½time: Nice mixtape, so far, goin’ ova pretty well with me! Keep this shit up, guys; y’all consistent! A 4.2-rated CD, currently!

11. “Tear It Down (Remix)” feat. B.G.
Anotha remix, here… >>> Sounds nice wit Gizzle on tha 1st verse, ova this beat… And, forgot to mention: Mugsy sounds nice on tha hook, tearin’ “dis muthafucka down!” Speakin’ of, here he iz on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some nice mixin’, as far as tha dranks! Got mo shit from Gizzle on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit mo shit; not bad… Oh, and Muggs took tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, here, reppin’ through this track…; he even “jiggalatin’,” too! Nice! Make sure y’all still on dat level ‘cause I’m just enterin’ dat kinda territory! We have 1:37 left, and do we have anotha verse? Sounds like Mugsy doin’ an outro, or a lil’ chant? Yeah, I’m likin’ this chantin’ of throwin’ “dem sets high!” Almost thought it was gon be a ward call, lol… My Rating: 4.0

12. “It’s Gonna Be Alright”
>>> A sample, here, on tha hook… Not really crazy about these kinda jointz, though I’m diggin’ this different-soundin’, throwback-kinda beat, at tha moment… Here’s Mugsy on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit catchy shit! Gotta keep “doin’ yo jizzo,” ya feel me?! Here’s Mugsy on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through fa tha “Tupac” fans, lol, as they “have [their] headphones on, listenin’ ta Tupac.” And, here’s Mugsy on tha 3rd verse: “To all my OG niggaz who been trappin’ since ’83;” props fa me figurin’ out what year you’re born in, Mugsy. You already know I’m smart wit dem birthdayz! My Rating: 3.9

13. Pussy Blockin’
>>> A skit, here… Yeah, air ‘em out! “PB & J,” and that’s “pussy blockin’,” lol… At tha time when this CD came out, I only dealt with one “pussy.” There was this DJ from Baton Rouge that I did a commercial for, that he wanted. Then, when I made mine, he made his own, and I tried to get paid for mine, but he ain’t pay me. Fuck, glad I learned my lesson, though I’m so behind in old reviewz, now, smh! Err-body betta appreciate what I do, now ‘cause I’m not really available, anymore! My Rating: N/A

14. “The Truth”
>>> Sounds like a catchy hook ova this decent beat; nice job, Dizzy! “I spit that real shit; these otha niggaz just rappin’!” Ain’t that tha truth? Gotta luv when I “spit that real shit” when it comes ta my music, too! Here’s Dizzy on tha 1st verse, comin’ through, findin’ a way ta make himself “smile;” gotta find a way! “Got tha word, ‘Gangsta,’ on my left hand;” nice… Tha 2nd verse from Dizzy’s soundin’ nice, too, and I can agree wit him, here: “I was lookin’ for some bullshit to get into!” Even though it wasn’t trouble-related, “I was” gettin’ myself into “some bullshit,” back then, when I was doin’ niggaz a favor by doin’ commercials fa free! I mean, look at what I fuckin’ did to myself! I should’ve charged dem bitches ‘cause they all was fake and I made myself post-pone my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon due to makin’ so many commercials! I wish I wasn’t like dat, but I learned tha hard way! It’s a neva-endin’ grind!! Here we are wit Dizzy, once again, on tha 3rd verse; almost gettin’ y’all voices confused, fa a second, but I got it… Props fa feedin’ your “family,” Dizzy! My Rating: 4.1

15. “Ignant” feat. Skip
>>> This beat sounds catchier; let’s see what we got goin’ on, here… Tha hook sounds pretty catchy with this title; nice job, Muggs! It sounds like a catchy club banga… Hearin’ him on tha 1st verse and it sounds like he livin’ large; sounds good ta hear… Mo Muggs on tha 2nd verse, here—guess no Dizzy, now, lol? Y’all alternatin’!—and it sounds good, still… Yeah! Skip on tha 3rd verse, here, and his “two words” are, “Fuck off!!” Yeah!! Sounds nice with his aggression in his voice, on this verse! Nice appearance; sounds nice on this beat! My Rating: 4.2

16. Ain’t No Love
>>> Nice skit, but yeah, I wish I “ain’t [have] no love,” back in ’09! I was dick-suckin’ too many rappers’ dicks and shit, back then! Wish I would’ve been more self-centered like they dumb asses! My Rating: N/A

17. “Killa” feat. Teco
>>> A nice beat start, here; diggin’ tha laidback vibe in tha instruments… Tha hook sounds pretty catchy wit tha singin’, this time, unlike tha Kangol one; nice job, Teco! Here we go wit Dizzy on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some nice shit ta spit ova this beat; nice rhymes… Here’s Mugsy on tha 2nd verse, and he sounds nice on this shit, wit his choppaz! Even a singin’ 3rd verse from Teco, here, rap-sung… Verse? Maybe, I’ll consider it a bridge, since it was pretty quick? And, a lil’ endin’ from Teco, too, singin’ tha way through… My Rating: 4.3

18. “Like A Muhphukka”
Luvin’ tha spelling! >>> Nice beat start from Sinista, here; let’s see how this gon turn out… Anthemic wit tha beat, now that I hear tha hook from Dizzy! Yeah, “like a muhphukka!!” Luv daht spelling, 1ce agayne!! Tha 1st verse from Dizzy’s nice, too; nice and quick, here! Here Dizzy continues dat hot shit on tha 2nd verse… Diggin’ tha rhymes, once again, Diz, you Raw D.I., lol! Mo shit from Dizzy on tha 3rd verse, here, and since it’s all him, this title’s remindin’ me that I’ve heard this before? Actually, no, but I see other songs on here I’ve heard before, lol! My Rating: 4.6

19. Skrate Up On The Get Down
>>> Nice lil’ outro, here; props fa takin’ me down this Luv 4 Da Streets journey, lol… My Rating: N/A

20. “Pump My Fist” feat. Stevie Drumma
>>> Diggin’ tha hook, here, includin’ how tha beat sounds wit y’all on tha hook, pumpin’ y’all’s “fist!” Tha 1st verse from Mugsy sounds nice ta hear; good shit! “So, nigga, roll da weed up;” yeah! Here’s Dizzy on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some catchy shit… Almost reminds me of Trillville & “Neva Eva” wit, “Look at my neck, look at my wrist,” wit tha way you delivered it! Great flashback and wow, that song was only six years old at tha time of tha release of this mixtape. And now, this mixtape’s six years old, today, lol… Here’s tha both of y’all on tha 3rd verse, alternatin’ back and forth like catchy muhphukkaz, lol!! “Stevie Drumma,” huh? Oh, makes sense; I believe he’s on tha hook, uncredited! Yeah, that voice reminds me of “Sit Still,” so yeah! Those were great times! My Rating: 4.4

Overall: Nice mixtape, y’all! Y’all kept it consistent wit some hot, quality-soundin’ street shit fa tha 504! Keep up tha great work, y’all! And, Dizzy, I got anotha flashback review ta do fa you in a few! It from 2013; not as old as this one, ya dig?

Review #1,243: Beat Flippa "Martell Muzik"

Reviewed on 1.28.2013 (Review #1,243)

‘Bout time I got some time for some more reviewz…, not that I’m excited for ‘em or anything. However, this one had to get some excitement outta me… I finally bought it and now, I’m reviewin’ it! Here’s my review for now-signed to Ross Music Group’s Beat Flippa Martell Muzik! My 1st rap review of 2013; 2nd review, overall, for 2013! Start Time: 8:46 AM | End Time: 10:16 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! © 2013 CD Review (Review #1,243) reviewed on 1.28.2013 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Intro Feat. Jomo Jenkins
>>> Good intro for this; nice and slurred… My Rating: N/A

02. “Martell Muzik” Feat. Delanor
Let’s see how tha title track gon start this off… >>> Nice start wit you in tha intro; anticipatin’ beat… Ooh, sounds good wit a mix of old school-soundin’ beats, mixed wit your catchy rhymes fa tha ’12! Glad to hear you doin’ more rhymin’! Tha hook sounds pretty nice. To me, I feel like I won’t 100% enjoy “life” ‘til I catch up wit everythang… :( LOL, thought you mentioned me when you said, “Frankie,” on tha 2nd verse; that was a nice part, either way. Thumbs up for all tha character you got on tha 2nd verse; you’re really enjoyin’ this shit right now, Flippa! Thought I’d hear a 3rd verse, but it’s good to still hear an extra hook. My Rating: 4.4

03. “Bet Not Touch Me” Feat. Heavy & Sam
I like a title like dis; lookin’ forward to hearin’!! >>> Likin’ this slow-soundin’ beat fa this; good hook, too! As much as tha hook sounded like Paul Wall, I almost thought that was him on tha 1st verse. This sounds good; what else can I say? Flippa, you’re on tha 2nd verse and you livin’ a good life, here! I always think of real southern music when it comes ta you, Flippa! It neva sounds boring like people tryna make New York music, and you always tend ta live dat southern life! Almost thought that was a young Webbie on tha 3rd verse; interestin’ shit comin’ from this dude on tha 3rd verse! Tha flow’s real nice and rapid! It’s not cheesy or anythang; it flows through nicely on this beat!! My Rating: 4.5

04. “My Chevy” Feat. C. Hills & DJ B-Real
Currently, tha temperature on Long Island, NY iz 28 degrees, but snow finna hit our way! It was 0 all week last week, so hopefully, when I hear this, we’ll warm up a bit! Really lookin’ forward!! You know how much I got luv fa DJ B-Real!!!!! Hope he sings a real nice and southern hook!!! >>> Ooh, a car in tha beginning; feels like I’m on tha streets!! Definitely feelin’ tha beat, too!! Ooh, almost thought that was someone else on tha hook, but I hear it clearer once tha 2nd ¼ comes up!! B has such a great voice; so fuckin’ talented!!! Whoo!!! Kickin’ this off wit you on tha 1st verse, and it sounds catchy wit your character, once again; you holdin’ BR down to tha fullest, Flippa!! Got that C. Hills dude on tha 2nd verse and he sounds like he fits in perfect fa a song like this! No cheesy rappers, here; nothin’ but that southern, Pimp C, 2000 – 2008 feel to it!! Will B-Real be on tha 3rd verse??? OMG, yes!!! Fuckin’ luv him ta death!!!!! Glad he rappin’ and he rappin’ all about bein’ in dat “chevy;” sounds real nice ta hear this!!! Thumbs up fa givin’ dat real southern vibe, B-Real!!! Also, nice slowed-down ending!! My Rating: 4.8

05. “I’m Winning”
Wit a CD like this, as well as your past consistency, yes, you are “winning,” Flippa!! >>> Anotha hot beat, here; you really holdin’ this CD down, Flip! Strictly you on this joint; no features!! Almost thought that was tha rapper L.C. on tha 1st verse wit tha flow; kinda sounds recycled or quoted from somewhere (tha flow or somethin’), but it still sounds nice… Tha 2nd verse sounds nice, too; you goin’ afta your “winning” future! My Rating: 4.3

06. “My Life” Feat. J.S.P., Lady Lex & Bruce Dillon
Let’s hear what this gon be about… >>> Laidback-type beat, this time; sounds good wit tha singin’ on tha hook… No need for tha anti-“jigg” on tha 1st verse, Flip…; wasn’t that shit, like, 10 years ago? Everytime someone talks about “jigg” shit, I always think ‘N Sync’s still around, wit all tha boy bands; that’s how long ago it iz! But, not bad for tha verse, Flip. Let’s hear what we got on tha 2nd verse wit Lady Lex… Definitely feelin’ this voice and flow combination; southern shit at its finest!! We got tha 3rd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ great, too; lots of luv fa tha boyz, which I still don’t understand to this day! My Rating: 4.1

07. “Musical Therapy”
>>> Nice sounds goin’ on in tha beginning, here… Ehh, it’s okay and catchy, but tha flow sounds a lil’ Ross/Wayne/Drake-y… I like how tha hook iz just talking and tha beat sample. Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ much betta; slower flow and delivered in a catchier way! A 3rd verse iz here and it sounds good, too; back to tha 1st verse’s flow, but it’s cool. My Rating: 4.1

08. “F.W.M.” Feat. Raw Dogg, Greedy, Lil’ Cal & Big Grizzly
“F!” I thought that was Lil’ Cali on tha feature! Now, we got my 1st taste of an uncomfortable feelin’ on this CD, but I’m still lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this… >>> Intro sounds real hot, like some “Somethin’ In Da Air”-type shit; nice beat start wit you on tha intro!! Catchy hook, goin’ hard as tha “F,” lol! Nice shit comin’ outta tha 1st verse; good thing for this beat ‘cause it’d prolly only be just about decent on somethin’ else. Real nice 2nd verse bein’ delivered by Greedy, here!! Nice job wit this shit; southernness at its finest!! Let’s see this 3rd verse… Lots of nice “fuck you, fuck me”-type shit; very catchy!! Hearin’ a Grizzly girl on tha 3rd verse and she sounds pretty tight wit this gangsta shit! Great collaboration, overall! How ironic that I was afraid to hear Cal on this shit, and I didn’t even hear him! Can someone say, bonus?! My Rating: 4.6

09. “From Da Back”
! >>> ROFL @ a Juvie start! Great lil’ sample from him; he’s always hilarious and entertainin’!! Shit sounds nice, here. LOL @ you describe your boner as your “pants on tha rise;” anything ta catch their attention, Flippa! Anything, lol!! Good shit; you definitely held tha 1st verse down fa tha ladies, here; always entertainin’ when you hit tha mic, whether it’s in tha chevy, “from da back” fa da ladies, or anything in-between! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse; sounds like you’ve been singin’ a bunch of songs ta get you through tha verse, which iz cool… My Rating: 4.4

10. “She Like Da Way” Feat. Mz. TeQui & J.S.P.
Looks like a nice collaboration; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! >>> Intro reminds me of “My Ol’ School”, which ironically, this iz #10, too? Iz that your #10 formula fa CDs? I like this start, too, and you sound good in tha beginning… Tha hook sounds pretty nice; likin’ tha sexual shit a lot, lol! Feelin’ these X-rated rhymes a lot fa this laidback vibe! Glad you still real sexual for your age; makes me feel like it’s not too late for me ‘cause I develop real slow, especially wit encounters! LOL @ tha “eat dat dick, eat dat dick, eat dat dick” part; it sounds catchy how you deliver dat line (as far as you bein’ a machine, repeatin’ a line non-stop). Good shit from TeQui outta nowhere; she appeared real quick, lol! Glad she supplied tha track tha way she did, in such a fast time! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Anotha classic from you, Flip!! A 4.4-rated CD, currently; you’re always supplyin’ tha Rouge wit dem five-star CDs!!!!

11. “Everday All Day” Feat. Raw Dizzy
Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. on tha feature? This gon be pretty sick wit you collaboratin’!!! >>> LOL @ tha “Dilemma” sample in tha beginning; feels weird to think that song’s 11 years old now. Felt like yesterday convertin’ all my 2000 – 2004 cassettes to mp3s, hearin’ that song a lot! Nice lil’ start from tha both of y’all on this real nice, southern beat! Always luv your organs, Flip!! Ooh @ tha hook; luv tha lines, especially tha “blowin’ tha blunt” part! Only time’ll tell ‘til I visit Louisiana, finally! Just need a dude to back me up; money’s neva tha issue! Good job wit tha 2nd verse, too; tha both of y’all goin’ back and forth wit tha verses and it sounds real nice to hear! Tha 3rd verse sounds pretty nice, too; keep this shit up, guys!! My Rating: 4.5

12. “Ain’t No Love” Feat. K-Dot, J-Seven, Carrie & Delanor
A lot of people on tha people makes me think this iz gonna be mainly about singin’… >>> No, not a “Song Cry” remake; no!! That’s what tha beginning sounds like… Definitely keep Jay-Z far away from Louisiana music at all times!! He ain’t Louisiana!! But, hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it sounds like some nice travelling; beat ain’t too bad for you to rap on, either. Okay, tha hook wasn’t too bad; she’s got a good singin’ voice… Tha 2nd verse’s remindin’ me a lil’ bit of Big Boi-type rappin’, which ain’t too bad, here. Tha 3rd verse’s J-Seven, and he doin’ an aight job wit this verse, here. Not tha kinda song that’s really for me, but whateva. My Rating: 3.5

13. “I Keep Dat Fire” Feat. Young Teezie & C. Hills
This looks like a tight title; I’m lookin’ forward ta this! >>> Nice start wit tha reggae, almost-soundin’-like-a-Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley-sample beginning! You’re on tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ very commercialized, between tha flow and lyrics; DJ B-Real, where are you?!? Young Teezie on tha 2nd verse? Sounds like an interestin’ young dude, finally! Likin’ his rhymes; hope he can continue ta embrace tha undaground and BR, instead of everyone tryna embrace stupid money and commercialized shit! That’s why, when I’m applyin’ for a job now, I’m neva mentionin’ anything about needin’ to pay my loans within two months! Good shit on tha 3rd verse from C. Hills; a lil’ quiet on tha vocals? My Rating: 4.2

14. “U Know” Feat. Bengie Bee & Gangsta
Fiendin’ fa a DJ B-Real feature again, although I had a feelin’ that tha only time I was gonna hear him was on that 4th song on here… Either way, let’s see what this joint has ta offer… >>> No Flip on tha beat? Different; J Buc this time… Sounds like a good, new vibe, despite this bein’ a “money” song, smh! I’ono how much I can fuck wit it ‘cause talkin’ about “money” a lot iz like talkin’ ‘bout you carry dildos on you; equally gross!!! Tha 1st verse iz okay; a lil’ betta than that hook… Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ Nu$$ie-ish on tha flow and attitude; kinda cocky… Wow, even mentioned “Nu$$ie;” why’d I guess so easily? Got Gangsta for tha 3rd verse. Ehh, all these lyrics are too cocky. Everything’s good about this song but tha cocky-ass lyrics… I would hope y’all think jigg music’s way betta than cocky “money” lyrics……………………………………………………, right?!? My Rating: 3.9

15. “Hello World” Feat. Delanor, Gator & Bruce Dillon
>>> Sounds like tha ‘60s in tha beginning… What, with “gettin’ money” bein’ rapped on this; ain’t that disrespect to tha old school cats? We’ll see how much I can take this serious ‘cause I got two things not for me on this track… Usually, beats like this have lyrical shit that’s not really for me. Now, it’s a beat like this wit tha lyrics not comparing… I feel too old for lyrics like this (24). Anyway, enough of my braggin’, let’s hear you on tha 2nd verse, Flip… Much betta lyrics; glad I feel like I’m in tha south again, instead of in a haze fulla “money”—dildos? I dunno about tha “Facebook” or “Twitter” parts; keep technology outta this. My Rating: 3.2

16. “Turn Me Up” Feat. Greedy
>>> Why that Rick Ross-type tag in tha beginning? Hope these tag things go away fast, or I’ll have ta go away faster! A lil’ bit of a bounce vibe; it sounds okay, so far… It almost sounds like Magnolia Chop on tha beginning, here… However, it’s this Greedy dude, representin’. Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds okay… Mainly, this a song fa Greedy, it sounds like; lots of him on tha song, overall. My Rating: 3.8

17. “We Do This” Feat. M.I.C., Sims & J.S.P.
Lots of letters, lol. Let’s see how y’all “do this!” >>> Good beginning wit tha beat… Hearin’ Sims on tha 1st verse and it sounds pretty good; always dig him on tha track wit his grimy voice! M.I.C. followin’ it up on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse and he almost reminded me of T.I., wit tha voice. Good shit fa tha Boot; good collab! Likin’ those claps @ 1:28! Oh, I hear Sims on tha hook; I think I got it confused before, but yea, M.I.C. had tha 1st verse and Sims reppin’ on tha hook! See, I was now right ‘cause Sims’ on tha 2nd verse, lol… Once again, sounds good wit his grimy voice and all these drugs, lol! Now, we got you on tha 3rd verse, Flip; interestin’… Nice representin’ fa these 225 streetz, Flip! I always picture tha coolest images of BR and coolest people when I think of seein’ you/eva meetin’ you one day, Flip! My Rating: 4.2

18. “Bottles & Models” Feat. Big Grizzly & M.I.C.
Looks like anotha interestin’ collaboration; bring it on… >>> I had a feelin’ this was gonna sound a lil’ like Da Chameleon’s “Bottles On Me” wit tha “bottles,” lol! Sounds nice and slower, wit those classic Beat Flippa horns!! Good shit from you on tha 1st verse, Flip; you all about yourself here, lol! Thought tha feature was tha female; sometimes, I get them confused… Either way, glad to hear this Big Grizzly dude on tha 2nd verse! He got shit on lock fa you, Flip! Hearin’ M.I.C. on tha 3rd verse and he aight, although some of it makes me lose anticipation ‘cause I think of it havin’ a mainstream vibe… My Rating: 4.2

19. “I Appreciate” Feat. Chameleon
Speakin’ of dat Chameleon, here he iz on tha feature, lol, how ironic! >>> Anticipatin’ beat start! Don’t get too anticipated and excited at tha same time, now-a-dayz! Good start wit tha 1st verse, includin’ how you came up from your “struggles.” Likin’ that hook; iz that Chameleon? Doesn’t exactly sound like who I thought it was, fa a second… I assume this iz him on tha 2nd verse. Sounds good, but I think tha fast rappin’ throws me off… My Rating: 4.3

20. Outro Feat. Jomo Jenkins
>>> Sounds just as good as tha intro, only a lot longer ta enjoy! Can only imagine what his face looks like! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Wow, I finished this review at 10:16 AM, tha day (10/16) when I reviewed your Street Certified CD, back in 2008! Well Flip, you did a nice job on this!! Always supplyin’ tha 225 wit a nice 225 vibe at all times!! You neva disappoint; keep tha CDs comin’!! Yes, at least you put out albums and not like everyone else’s boring asses who put out mixtapes!
