Review #1,894: Nordy Klicc "Dirty Southern Soljaz"

Reviewed on 12.22.2019 (Review #1,894)

Keepin’ ‘em goin’, keepin’ ‘em goin’! Up next, my review for Nordy Klicc Dirty Southern Soljaz, released in 1999 on Nordy Nappy Records & was produced by Sir Jay! Not sure why they have tha apostrophe in Solja’z; it’s an error & I’m gonna fix it… Start Time: 3:07 PM | End Time: 4:16 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
>>> A nice lil’ slow vibe ta kick off this CD wit this intro, here…; pretty smooth & laidback… Nice lil’ question: “Iz you nordy fo life, nigga? Yes, I am!” My Rating: N/A

02. “Down South”
>>> A decent vibe, here…; tha hook str8 & y’all voice unique fa tha “south.” Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad; good lil’ vibe wit y’all “weed” & shit… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it cool wit this laidback/gutta vibe, no matter what’s goin’ on… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it str8 wit this cool voice; not bad… My Rating: 3.7

03. “Really Doe”
>>> “Really” southern & smooth on tha voice, here, fa tha hook; not bad… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here & it’s soundin’ okay, here… I’ono how much interest I’ll have fa this CD; I have a feelin’ it’ll only be decent… Tha 2nd verse ain’t bad, here; seems a lil’ boring? Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it sounds okay; I don’t even have a comment… My Rating: 3.6

04. “Green Eyes”
>>> An okay beat, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it str8; no catch value to it, basically… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here… Tha 2nd verse keeps this shit goin’ fa tha dark streets, here…; dry-soundin’ flow & vibe, overall… A 3rd verse iz here & it sounds like y’all keepin’ this street shit comin’… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Cowboy”
>>> Anotha laidback vibe but tha hook sounds catchy wit how y’all say tha title; nice… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s a slow/good-soundin’ verse, here, ta offer mo street content… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it ain’t bad… I’m honestly tryin’ not ta be bored by listenin’ ta this, so bare with this… Tha 3rd verse ain’t that bad, as I continue ta tolerate this… My Rating: 3.8

06. “I Blow Your High”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ hook, on a slow beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & these rhymes about tha “blow” of tha “high” sound catchy ta hear… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds okay; nothin’ too much goin’ on… My Rating: 3.8

07. “Fukk Da Police”
>>> Sounds like a good 1st verse wit tha “red light,” tha “candy” & this paranoid-soundin’ drivin’ scene! Tha beat’s even nice and hot fa a slow one, too! “Eyez red as my tailights;” nice! Got tha hook goin’ on & it sounds nice ta hear; good shit…! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, keepin’ tha “candy” unscratched, durin’ this paranoid scene; nice! My Rating: 4.1

08. “Relax, Relate, Release”
>>> Sounds like a good hook ta “relax” to, I guess? Decent/decent beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds okay fa a gangsta tale… Tha 2nd verse has a slightly-catchier flow, here; not bad… My Rating: 3.5

½time: Mainly, just a decent CD; sounds like I only loved tha track about tha po-pos… A 3.7-rated CD, so far; let’s keep it goin’…

09. “Can U Feel Me”
>>> Sounds okay, here, on tha hook & beat; at least it’s more upbeat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; can’t complain, here… Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ lost & a lil’ aggressive, at tha same time; odd… My Rating: 3.8

10. “We Shining”
>>> Sounds like an okay slow vibe, here; hook ain’t bad wit tha chick rappin’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it ain’t bad wit what y’all spittin’, here… My Rating: 3.2

11. “I Know You Know”
>>> Tha female rappin’ on tha hook, here… It’s a lil’ more upbeat but let’s see if it can grow on me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here…Tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse ain’t bad, as well; this track’s 5:55? Damn, this gon be long…! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it okay; tha 2nd part’s fine but this just seems like it’s neva endin’… Tha 4th verse has tha chick rappin’, which I feel her aggression; that’s it, tho. Got anotha dude on tha 2nd part of tha 4th verse, here; decent… My Rating: 3.1

12. “Ward Twisum”
>>> Sounds like a nice hook wit this “ward” representation; good shit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it str8, here… As this goes on, I’m diggin’ tha “do your ward…” questions; keep it goin’! My Rating: 4.0

13. “Grave Fillers”
>>> Sounds like an okay hook & upbeat beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here… Tha 2nd verse sounds okay ta hear, here; can’t complain, even tho it’s long… A 2nd part to tha 2nd verse, too…; not bad/long… Tha 3rd verse ain’t bad, here…; kinda long & boring fa a song, overall… My Rating: 3.0

14. “Hard Hat”
>>> An okay beat; decent vibe wit tha hook, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad; feelin’ tha voice fa tha streetz, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it ain’t bad; I don’t really have anymore feedback… My Rating: 3.3

15. “‘Bout Dat Evil”
>>> Sounds like it samples a typical street banga, here; sounds nice, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; at least there’s a lil’ mo energy in this…! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & this shit sounds good, once again; I’m diggin’ it… Tha rest of this pretty nice, as it continues ta do its thang… My Rating: 4.1

16. “Kidnapped”
>>> Sounds good wit this beat, too, as well as tha phone call in tha beginning, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad; feelin’ tha flow, this time… Tha rest of this ain’t that bad; not really in a mood to leave feedback, tho… My Rating: 3.5

17. Outro
>>> Sounds like an okay “outro,” as well as tha laidback beat… My Rating: N/A

Overall: This CD ain’t really have too much ta offer fa me; beats were too laidback, mainly…

Radio Shift #100: "Tha Louisiana Pit" (Finale) :: Playlist Of 8.19.2012

Here's tha final episode. Most of tha plays are artists I've never played on tha show before, or have a featured artist I never played. I couldn't get 'em all, but I tried, as well as different albums from those that had already played.
Due to being short on time, I didn't really get to do all tha statistics and all dat. So, hopefully, by tha end of tha year, I'll try to have totals, who set what records, and even have awards to those, "Tha Louisiana Pit" style:
