Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
>>> Sounds like an outro-type production but it’s good ta slowly get listeners in tha zone ta get ready fa this big shit! My Rating: N/A

02. “Ya Miss, Ya Lose”
>>> Sounds like a consistent way ta start off tha 1st verse, here; catchy fa these 2000 streetz, with this street beat…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good; props fa havin’ your eyez on tha future prizes, Nitti! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds nice with how you deliver this street content; gotta respect it…! My Rating: 4.0

03. “Wide Open” feat. Patti Kakes
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ street beat fa tha south, once again; hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & this street content goes well with tha vibe, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s catchy with this “Wide Open” shit; gotta have it “open” like dat! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from this Patti Kakes & she sounds like a dry female rapper; like, spoken-word’s more fa her? Keepin’ this thang movin’ with you on tha 3rd verse & it’s soundin’ okay… I felt like my interest went to a dry level once Patti Kakes did her verse… Also, nice lil’ reppin’ on tha outro, here, with tha peeps… My Rating: 3.1

04. “Tha Peacemaker” feat. C-Loc
>>> Hearin’ Loc on this & this beat makes me feel nice & confident, Concentration Camp style! Hearin’ Loc on tha 1st verse & it’s soundin’ like some dope shit from tha ‘90s; gotta luv when Loc in tha buildin’! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good; I like how tha both of y’all come thru on tha hook fa tha streetz! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse & it sounds decent with your flow; tha beat & Loc, basically, covered your presence, here, no matter how you come through on tha mic… Keepin’ this thang goin’ on tha 3rd verse & it’s you, comin’ through as a street’s leader; good shit… Luv how Loc stated it: “Concentration Camp style” but hearin’ tha “‘98” shit made me think, “I reviewed this in tha past?” *Checks…* Guess not? My Rating: 4.3

05. “Still Here”
>>> Sounds like a slower beat ta get you more in a focus… Hearin’ how you comin’ through on this 1st verse & it sounds okay/good; stay focused! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like one of your random, unexpected catchy tracks. Just hearin’ you always say, “Still Here”, just makes me think that you aimed for catchiness with this hook. Continuin’ on with tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ aight; I feel your street perspective, tho. Keepin’ this thang movin’ with tha 3rd verse & it’s good; just seems like it’s a lil’ long fa a track, overall… My Rating: 3.6

06. Interlude
>>> Almost thought that was Greg Dukes on tha intro, fa a second… Anyway, this just seems like an innocent vs. guilty-type of sappy interlude. My Rating: N/A

07. “Just Say When” feat. Young Bleed
>>> Sounds like a dope lil’ hood anthem, based off this beat; can’t wait ta hear…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Bleed & he spittin’ dat true shit as if this was tha Concentration Camp! Good shit! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty dope with tha both of y’all on this; great collab fa tha streetz! Keepin’ this thang movin’ wit you on tha 2nd verse, here & it sounds good with how you come through fa tha streetz, here; keep goin’! As this keeps goin’, you’re on tha 3rd verse, as well, comin’ through with nervousness in tha “nerves”; gotta let it be known! Ooh, a 2nd part of tha 3rd verse from Bleed, as there’s only 22 seconds left! Nice lil’ quickness delivered, here; every second counted!! My Rating: 4.4

08. “Make A Move” feat. Lay-Lo
>>> A slower beat, with a West Coast-type of influence; how will this turn out ta be? Hearin’ tha hook & it’s cool fa a lil’ slowie; I’ll give it some of my props… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds aight; hate ta say it but this joint may drag fa me… Keepin’ this thang goin’ wit Max on tha 2nd verse, soundin’ good with his lyrical content; great job, Mr. Minelli! Keepin’ this thang goin’ wit J-Von on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through with some consistent-soundin’ shit fa tha hood; definitely feelin’ his Lay-Lo presence! My Rating: 4.2

09. “Grind (Remix)” feat. J-Von
>>> Cool lil’ remix, here; nice beat & great shit wit what you bring to tha hook, in a gangsta’s perspective. Keepin’ it instantly movin’ with tha 1st verse from you, here, comin’ through wit havin’ a 100% focus on tha streetz; good goin’… Keepin’ this shit goin’ with J-Von on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit mo street content fa you ta channel; thumbs up, here… With 1:33 left, will there be anotha verse or just this beat/outro…? Okay, 23 seconds later, here comes a 3rd verse from you, comin’ through as a str8-up “soulja,” courtesy of tha “rag”; huh bruh… My Rating: 3.7

½tyme: Seems like a nice release from you, here; some decent tracks but for tha most part, you got tha streetz on lock, from tha N.O. to tha B.R.! Currently, your release iz at a 3.9 for tha average rating, currently; let’s keep it up!

10. “Head Busser Party” feat. 50 Kal.
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ upbeat beat, here…; hearin’ tha 1st verse & it str8 from this 50 Kal. dude. Some of his vocals are good but some of his flow sounds random/a lil’ off? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ str8; just seems more like an odd focus on tha lack of a consistent flow? I’m dozin’ off with tha remainder of this; just seems like an outro & nothin’ much ta keep me interested, unfortunately… My Rating: 2.7

11. “Curtains Call” feat. Lucky Knuckles
>>> Beat sounds good fa tha hood, here; nice sounds fa tha streetz… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; I dig tha slightly-eerie feelin’ of tha streetz, here. Hearin’ tha hook & it cool; I dig how tha both of y’all collab on it. Keepin’ this thang goin’ with Lucky Knuckles on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit betta energy & street vibes, here; huh bruh…! Definitely feelin’ how dude comin’ through wit his energy; definitely appreciated…! Keepin’ it goin’ with you on tha 3rd verse & tha flow got more on tha simple/dry side; wish you woulda channeled more from Lucky… As this slowly ends, we got a long outro, here, ta keep tha gangstaz in check… Also, a few sounds from tha hood added to spice thangz up, as well…! My Rating: 3.9

12. “Pay Tha Piper” feat. Boo, Goldie & C-Loc
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ hook & beat, here; gotta let it be known about tha “pay”! Likin’ how C-Loc comin’ through on this but why he gotta be at tha end of tha ID? Keepin’ it goin’ with mo rappin’, throughout this big collab; sounds nice but I don’t have much feedback to leave… This collab shoulda been arranged a lil’ betta? Doesn’t seem like I hear much of tha hook & just hear a bunch of verse parts from each of y’all… My Rating: 3.0

13. “Eyes Closed” feat. 50 Kal.
>>> Sounds like an okay beat but I prolly gon get bored fast with tha 5:20 length… Hearin’ what’s good with tha 1st verse & it sounds a lil’ catchy; flow decent, too… Hearin’ tha hook & it ain’t bad with how you come through about tha “eyes” bein’ “closed”; not bad… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Mr. Kal. & it’s soundin’ betta than yours, here, courtesy of tha flow, lyrics & voice; props fa tha contribution & collab… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse that you bringin’ & it ain’t bad with how you keepin’ this track on-n-poppin’; props fa tha effort… Also, there’s an outro on here ta extended tha length to its 5:20; it’s whatev… My Rating: 2.9

14. Interlude
>>> Sounds like you & tha chick ready ta fuck, based off of what I’m hearin’? Just anotha interlude in a random world… My Rating: N/A

15. “Take Flight” feat. Patti Kakes
>>> Beat sounds a lil’ slower & more on tha East Coast/Mobb Deep-type fa me, here… Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse & it’s soundin’ okay; I feel tha darker vibe in tha beat fa your rhymes, this tyme… Oh boy, tha Patti chick’s on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with consistent spoken shit, not really rappin’, imo… As tha dry vibes continue, here you are, pickin’ up from where Patti left off, spittin’ okay shit. It sounds like your flow’s really dry; like, it just sounds like you’re speakin’ into tha mic, rather than rappin’? My Rating: 2.5

16. “Drownin’” feat. Laboe
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here; I’ono how much I can appreciate your flow, on tha 1st verse; just seems like a faster version of spoken-word shit? Hearin’ tha hook & it’s kinda dry with that singin’; almost reminds me of Ed West on tha hook… Hearin’ what you got goin’ on, as we continue with tha 2nd verse & you keepin’ that iffy flow/decent rhymes in tha mix, here… As far as tha rest of this, not really too into it; long lil’ depressed outro from Laboe, as well… My Rating: 1.4

17. “Manditory” feat. Jacko
>>> Sounded like it went from tha rain to a street-soundin’ beat, based off tha transition in tha intro; interestin’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds okay with tha way you deliver these rhymes; not bad, overall… Tha rhymes b4 tha 1st verse ended were pretty consistent; keep dat consistency up! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s a lil’ catchy; I give you some props… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay from you, as well; keep on goin’… Keepin’ it goin’ with Jacko on tha 3rd verse, here, with a darker-soundin’ voice & that good, street shit; thumbs up fa this collab…! That “dope charge” from “February” was interestin’ ta hear; also, delivered in a catchy way…! My Rating: 3.8

18. “Small World”
>>> Beat sounds good but I’ono if I can fuck wit your flow, here, on tha 1st verse…? Sounds like tha rhymes are just bein’ spoken, rather than rapped? Hearin’ tha hook & it’s aight; just seems like it randomly fit itself & kiddy/vocal ability in this track… Keepin’ it goin’ with tha 2nd verse & your flow’s a lil’ betta; sounds like your vocals can be louder, tho? Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & tha content’s betta with this deeper street content; I’ll give it a lil’ more props than tha other two verses… My Rating: 2.6

19. “Situations” feat. 50 Kal.
>>> Sounds like we’re endin’ with a quality-soundin’ track fa tha streetz, here; nice hook & beat…! It’s all about those damn “Situations” that get in our way! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from 50 Kal., startin’ tha verses off; catchy/good shit, here…! Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 2nd verse & tha rhymes are soundin’ consistent, here; good lil’ shit, as this shit continues! Keepin’ it goin’ with tha 3rd verse & you sound good with what’s bein’ brought to tha streetz, here; you know what it iz! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Thought this woulda turned out betta; however, certain flows, hooks & how some of tha tracks were a lil’ long turned me off. Either way, glad you got ta release an album & get your point of view out to tha world! Can’t believe next month, on July 25th, gon be two decades since you were murdered!

10. “Shit Real”
Backwards of tha previous title, back to back? >>> Sounds like a good lil’ screwed & chopped beginning part of tha track; keep it movin’…! As far as tha rest of it, it does seem like it’s slowly progressin’ on by… My Rating: 3.9

12. “Twist It Up”
>>> I know it was my top-rated track on tha original but it sounds like it’s just decent; I don’t feel too much humor or gangsta feelin’ outta tha hook, this tyme. You have to be really fucked up ta enjoy this to a maximum… My Rating: 4.0

Also, just a heads-up: I was ‘posed ta review this & tha next review b4 C-Murder. However, I changed tha name of tha artist from “Concentration Camp” to “C-Loc Presents Concentration Camp”. Also, for those that aren’t aware, Concentration Camp are Boo, C-Loc, Happy Perez, J-Von, Lay-Lo, Lee Tyme, Lucky Knuckles, Max Minelli & Young Bleed. Start Tyme: 5:01 PM | End Tyme: 5:50 PM

01. On The Wire
Wasn’t this on It’s A Gamble? >>> Yeah, tha phone, only it’s not an old phone, this tyme; it’s a more-updated phone. Iz this tha “Kentucky” thing, again? I heard tha “Florida” thing & instantly thought of “Florida” Boulevard, from BR. Okay, no Kentucky but yeah, “Chuck E. Cheese,” here… My Rating: N/A

02. “They Ain’t ‘Bout No Trouble”
>>> Sounds good with tha undaground sound of how you come through on tha mic, as well as tha production provided…! Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse & it’s pretty dope, here; good shit! Luv tha hood shit you bring to this dope beat; eerie, eerie, eerie! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty hype with how you come through wit it; good shit! Luv how it sounds a lil’ humorous but nice with tha energy/southern feel! Hearin’ what you come through on tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty dope with tha content you bring, here; consistency at its finest! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it sounds like Lay-Lo, here, alternatin’ from a Max to a Von; dope idea for tha 2-Triple-0! Nice how this ends with a beat outro, here; definitely eerie & southern at its finest!! My Rating: 4.7

03. “Shit Real”
>>> Sounds pretty nice with what you bring to tha table on tha 1st verse, here; gotta keep it “real,” of course. Gotta luv how you come through fa tha south on this compilation, courtesy of tha C-Camp! Got a youngin on tha 2nd verse, here? Boosie? Am I trippin’, lol? Keepin’ this movin’ with that dude, once again; not Boosie but dude got both tha two verses on lock with their energy…! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Camp Camp”
>>> Sounds pretty intense, here, on tha hook; good shit, Loc! Tha beat’s pretty poppin’ fa tha 2000 tymes! Of course, you on tha 1st verse & you got shit poppin’, here; luv how you have buku energy on this release! Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, courtesy of tha Camp; flows pretty nicely in this mix. Some mo shit from tha 3rd verse, here; go, Max Minelli! Givin’ peeps tha “asthma attack” & shit; intense, comin’ from a then-21-year-old! Consistent rhymes; unstoppable Camp member! Luv how he goes & it starts ta end, slowly but surely…! My Rating: 4.4

05. “B Get Off Me”
>>> Sounds like an okay beat, here; decent lil’ 1st verse from you, Loc; glad you still got tha streetz on lock wit dis one…! Sounds like a silly lil’ hook with tha female but it’s still cool fa this dark undaground shit. Got Max on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit tha “Girbauds” & shit, knowin’ how ta come through like an O.G.; huh bruh…! Sounds like a good lil’ verse from Max, as he doesn’t stop channelin’ consistency! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse, here & tha Camp vibe continues; only O.G.z really appreciate shit like dis! My Rating: 4.0

06. “Outlaws”
>>> Definitely that dope shit, between tha beat & tha hook; always that “outlaw” life! It’s weird bein’ a human being that lost his innocence, not too long ago. Like, tha “outlaw” feelin’ goes wit you but you just do you, ya feel me? Hearin’ Loc on tha 1st verse & it sounds good with what he bringin’, here; no wonder why Baton Rouge luvs tha streetz! Loc iz tha answer! Now, I hear tha “say Loc, I need ta know, if they real or fake” part; feels like I heard that once before, in tha past? Anyway, with this youngin spittin’ on tha 2nd verse, it sounds aight; maybe, too young fa this track? Prolly coulda expected someone older… Either way, it looks like this turned out ta be a mixed review fa me; couldn’t tell which way I wanted ta go… Oh, a 3rd verse, here; I’ll give it more props, Loc, since you added more… My Rating: 4.0

07. “Not A Thang Change”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ voice from tha hood on tha 1st verse, here; good shit, good shit… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds cool wit how you express that only “tha weather” changes, Loc; good shit! Also, Loc, you’re on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with dat street shit; can’t be denied, Loc! It’s literally awesome bein’ tha boss, huh, Loc? Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s pretty dope with tha southern-southern voice; can’t deny it! Didn’t realize fa a second that there was an extra dude on this; good shit/keep tha hustle up! My Rating: 4.2

08. “We Fuckin’ Tonight”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ intro, here; nice… Hearin’ tha beat & it’s definitely nice fa an undaground-soundin’ beat…! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s aight fa me; lol, questionable tasks durin’ tha “fuckin’”? Between you & tha chick on tha hook, I’ono… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, Loc & it sounds like you’re in a great position durin’ these undaground tymes; glad you still around! Here comes tha chick on tha 2nd verse & I’ono, I’ono if I can dig her…; I don’t have no feedback, basically, except that it was a good duet. My Rating: 3.7

09. “Real Shit”
>>> Really diggin’ this creepy, eerie beat intro & how it takes a while b4 tha 1st verse ta start!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s Max, comin’ through wit some dope content fa tha streetz; definitely nice! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounded like a phone-call interlude or somethin’? Interestin’… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s you, Loc, comin’ through with dope street content on this beat; piggy-piggy-props…! Seemed like a nice 2nd hook/interlude part ta zone out to…; felt like those seconds were real long! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse, as I continue & it’s nice; southern greatness at its finest! My Rating: 4.6

10. “Boosie”
My preview’s one word: “Boosie”. >>> Of course, who’s on tha 1st verse? “Boosie”; gotta feel what he bringin’ to tha table with this content of tha hood…! Beat also sounds pretty nice; luv how it’s deep off in that Rouge with “Boosie”! Iz this one of tha youngest “Boosie” tracks? Sounds younger than that Youngest Of Da Camp release, despite bein’ tha same years…? My Rating: 4.4

11. “Twist It Up”
>>> Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, Loc…; sounds like a good lil’ joint, here, shmoke & track…! Beat sounds okay fa you ta rap on, as well; I give it its props… Oh boy, that hook’s pretty dope & deep, with tha voice! “Twist it up…; twist it up, my nigga!” Great thinkin’, Loc, includin’ that eerie sing-rappin’! Oh boy, got Boosie on tha 2nd verse, too; luv how he has tha energy & focus ta do tha damn thang, here…! Keepin’ this movin’ with a total “weed”head on tha 3rd verse, here, flowin’ nicely with tha beat, as well…! Btw, I’m fulla dat (THC) vape pen, right nah! My Rating: 4.8

12. “I Got Mine”
>>> Sounds like a good beat & how you holdin’ shit down on tha 1st verse, Loc; undeniable & unstoppable! Likin’ how this transitions to Max on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through as a Lay-Loian! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice with you & Max on it; keep gettin’ y’all’s! Props fa this energy & tha energy y’all applyin’ to this, especially you on tha 2nd verse, Loc! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s soundin’ more laidback with tha voice but this content’s still pretty nice… My Rating: 4.3

13. “Down South”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat & catchy 1st verse, here; Concentrationtastic at its finest! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like a dope one, courtesy of C-Loc luvin’ to “ride tonight!” Definitely feelin’ tha catchiness! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good with one of tha Camp members doin’ they shit! Always hoodtastic with tha “cornbread,” ya heard me? Keepin’ it movin’ with you on tha 3rd verse, Loc, comin’ through wit mo leadership shit fa tha streetz; good shit! My Rating: 4.4

Review #1,918: Young Bleed "My Own"

Reviewed on 12.28.2019 (Review #1,918)

Only got two CDs left in ’99, b4 I hit tha new millennium of ’00! Can’t believe I finally made it to tha 2000’s; seems like forever! This next review iz no stranger to tha marathon: Young Bleed My Own, released in 1999 on Priority Records! Start Time: 10:07 PM | End Time: 10:58 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!

>>> A slower vibe, here; let’s see what’s good… Diggin’ your flow pace on tha 1st verse, here; regular, fast & somewhat-slow! Keep tha uniqueness up! Hearin’ tha hook wit tha double dose of singin’ & it sounds good fa a slow track, I must say…; nice… Got tha Gram dude on tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ some nice rhymes, in a calm way; not bad… Mo from dat Gram dude on tha 3rd verse, this time, spittin’ some okay rhymes. At this point, my interest’s wearin’ off, as this kinda on tha sad tip, which ain’t really fa me… Almost sounds like a movie scene’s music, toward tha end, as well as tha rain; interestin’… My Rating: 3.2

½time: Sounds great fa this release, so far; great job, Bleed! You know what it iz fa holdin’ down Baton Rouge, in its earlier dayz! A 4.0-rated CD, so far; keep up tha great work!

07. “No Disrespect” feat. Deuce N …Da Youngtymaz

Hearin’ tha hook & it’s too sappy/sad fa me, wit how it’s sung… Tha 2nd verse iz here & you also got dealt tha “2x felon” card, as well? That shit’s rough ta beat but when you beat it, you good in one sense, tho gainin’ strength in anotha way… Sounds okay wit what you bringin’ to tha 3rd verse, here; too slow fa me ta really like. I do admit, tha G-Funk sound in tha beat’s nice, tho… My Rating: 2.6
