Review #1,533: DJ Jimi "I'm Back! I'm Back!"

Reviewed on 9.23.2016 (Review #1,533)

Next up in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon, we got DJ Jimi I’m Back! I’m Back!, released in 1994 on Avenue Distribution & Soulin’ Records. Start Time: 5:13 PM | End Time: 6:13 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

Link To CD: N/A

01. Inhale
>>> Decent start ta intro this thang off… My Rating: N/A

02. “Still Goin’ On”
That’s right! >>> Diggin’ tha hook; luv how you say some of tha words with your tongue, lol (“tha niggity-niggity-nigga”). Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds catchy; reminds me of Ricky B or someone with tha voice, here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice wit this gangsta shit and these “shots.” Even a shout out ta “KLC,” too. Tha 3rd verse’s nice, too; diggin’ how “you see nothin’ but golds” when you “smile!” My Rating: 4.0

03. “Swing”
I remember this title; played on my radio show, I believe. >>> A nice lil’ fast start and a bounce vibe, here, of course! Tha hook’s pretty catchy wit how tha “ass” swingin’! Good shit goin’ on wit tha verses, here, jammin’ out! Then, after tha first two verses, there’s a lil’ bit of chantin’ goin’ on wit tha “ooh ooh, ooh, ooh!” My Rating: 4.2

04. “Bonus Beat”
>>> Nice! I’ll count it as a rating ‘cause it’s a “bonus beat,” lol. My Rating: 4.3

05. Titties, Tongues & Dicks
ROFL?! >>> Funny; good shit, lol… Imagine if this was a song?! My Rating: N/A

06. “Hoz Ain’t Nut’n But Hoz”
True… >>> Beat sounds nice and this vibe sounds like a nice, ‘90s-like, West Coast-type vibe, here… Tha hook sounds nice; good shit with this title… Tha 1st verse soundin’ like a regularly-delivered verse; good job… Tha 2nd verse soundin’ good ta hear, too… Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, here; a decent track, overall… My Rating: 3.7

07. “Jivin’”
>>> Sounds like random rappin’ in tha beginning? Decent… Not really feelin’ this randomly-rapped flow and tha beat’s just decent fa me… Tha hook ain’t too bad when you say tha title and then, tha beat plays fa a lil’… “Born March 26, 1975;” oh, God! My manager’s birthday, lol! I thought you were a lil’ older than that? November 26 ya b-day; maybe, I heard wrong, lol? Must have my job on my brain too much! My Rating: 3.0

08. “Sumt’in Missing”
>>> A longer track (5:49) but I’m feelin’ this ‘90s vibe… Tha beat sounds nice ta hear, somethin’ that TLC would rap on! Also, tha singin’ on tha hook’s nice! Tha 1st verse sounds pretty nice ta hear; you doin’ a nice job… Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice ta hear, too; you rollin’ tha rhymes off ya tongue! Tha 3rd verse sounds good ta hear, too; what else can I say? It’s a West Coast thang, right now! And, a nice lil’ outro, here… My Rating: 4.1

09. “Krooked Kops”
Likin’ tha “K”z! >>> Diggin’ tha eerie beat start; definitely a nice beat! It’s all about tha south! Tha 1st verse sounds nice wit these rhymes; good goin’… Tha hook sounds nice; it’s an anthem but at tha same time, ya watchin’ fa tha “krooked kops!” Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good, too; nothin’ much ta say wit these verses, sometimes… My Rating: 4.3

½time: Mostly decent tracks but at tha same time, quality! Good job wit your street shit, Jimi! A 3.9-rated release, so far…

10. “Yeah (Fuckin’ Right)”
A long track, here (6:07)… >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ bounce/gangsta track, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m diggin’ tha drug-related shit wit tha “flippin’ keys;” representin’! Tha hook sounds pretty nice, here… Lots of chantin’ of “yeah” on tha hook, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds good ta hear… ‘Preciate your braveness! I went explorin’ at an abandoned sanatarium in tha dark, last night & tha two people I was with were scared! They were black & from Brooklyn! How they scared? Oh wait, they were only 19 & 16? I’ono… Tha rest of this shit ain’t too bad; it continues and continues… My Rating: 3.9

11. “A Little Sumt’in Sumt’in”
>>> A good bounce vibe and how you’re handlin’ tha hook… I prolly won’t say much, as usual; it’s just a good bounce vibe. Not really sure if I can feel tha “eeny, meany, miny, mo,” or howeva you spell that shit… My Rating: 3.8

12. “Must Be The Music”
Anotha really long one… >>> This has a good club vibe ta it… I’m diggin’ “the music,” as well as tha singin’ on tha hook; nicely done! Feelin’ tha female that joins in on tha hook, too! Nice how you sound on tha 1st verse; you in a singin’-rappin’ zone! Not much rappin’ parts, at times, and a lotta “music,” here… “You listen to tha man that’s Ice Mike that’s makin’ tha beat;” really, it’s him? Ain’t expect him ta jam like this, but this bitch nice! My Rating: 4.2

13. Big Bird
A skit? >>> Lol @ this with tha “yum yum;” props fa anotha skit! My Rating: N/A

14. “Nigga Rigged”
Only 2:07 on tha length, this time? Guess we’re progressin’ faster? >>> Diggin’ how you sound, here; beat’s pretty nice, too… Sounds like a Jubilee-like song? “Oink, baby, oink,” lol! My Rating: 4.1

15. “Yeah (Instrumental)”
An instrumental? A long one, too (6:01)! >>> Nice job, of course; jammin’! Six minutes of bounce’s finest! My Rating: 4.4

16. Exhale
! >>> Not bad… I thought it was mainly to “exhale” shmoke or somethin’… My Rating: N/A

17. “Something’s Missing”
>>> Beat sounds nice fa tha start, here… Tha hook’s catchy; feelin’ tha singin’… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you holdin’ it down, here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; jammin’, West Coast style! Not bad with tha 3rd verse, too; can’t complain… EDIT: Wow, I rated this two times by mistake! See #08 fa tha review!

18. “Still Goin’ On”
Yeah! >>> Kinda sounds similar ta #02? I won’t count it; I’ll just consider it a repeat… See #2 fa tha review!

19. “A Little Sumt’in Sumt’in (Radio)”
A radio version ta end dis off… See #11 fa tha review!

Overall: I thought this was a pretty good release… Sometimes, it seemed kinda long and okay, at times, but for tha most part, you pulled through. Props fa all tha tracks!

Review #203: DJ Jimi "It's Jimi"

Reviewed on 5.18.2009 (Review No. 203)

Wat up? FrankieThaLuckyDog here. I had to shake back from tha past few dayz ‘cause I believe I got tha flu that’s been spreadin’ around (yet, I wasn’t sick fa tha whole entire year)! Now, I’m back, on Long Island, NY, and ready to get sum mo shit poppin’! Happy birthday to my boy Big Stat out there in CT, and now, I’m back in my marathon! Tha next review iz DJ Jimi “It’s Jimi”! Start Time: 9:29 PM | End Time: 11:07 PM

© 2009 CD Review (Review #203) reviewed on 5.18.2009 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Here The Album
Do you mean “hear”? Lemme find out how we actually gon start this shit off anyway… >>> I like tha start a lot wit tha beat and shit! Oh, so this iz just an intro? Cool. This tha 1st intro on this “Louisiana Reviewz Marathon” I’m doin’. I liked tha “mutha—muthafuckin’ house” part at 0:51! I guess there’s no ID error in tha title for this intro… My Rating: N/A

02. “Where They At (Club)”
ID Error No. 1: This iz labeled as tha “(Radio)” version meanwhile, it’s tha “(Club)” version! I accidently reviewed tha “(Radio)” version, so I’ll combine what I have to say: I know it was a single (based off of sources online), so lemme see how hot it iz… >>> That lil’ buildin’-up beat in tha background sounds like some shit from recently that might’ve sampled it… (can’t think of who) LOL @ Diddy samplin’ this song fa tha “D.I.D.D.Y.” song from 2001! This sounds pretty decent/good fa a Dance-Rap song, although a lil’ cheesy… LOL @ tha repetitive lyrics; they’re REAL catchy!! Even tha “pop that thang, gurl” part was on this! Wow, David Banner sampled that song on a 2004 single of his that I unfortunately ignored (I guess ‘cause of no exposure). Even Christina Milian samplin’. LOL, this felt so short… What was dirty about this song that there had to be a radio version? My Rating: 4.1
EDIT: Just listened to around tha end mark (where it ends on this version at tha 3:30 mark on tha version listed as “(Radio)”), and I heard “asshole” in tha radio version? That must be an error! Now, hearin’ tha remaining minute of tha real dirty version, and I’m likin’ tha dirty lyrics a lot fa this!

03. “Where They At (Radio)”
ID Error No. 2: This iz labeled as tha “(Club)” version meanwhile, it’s tha “(Radio)” version! What I originally said as tha 1st ½ of my preview: Oh, it’s right chea, lol [meaning tha otha version]. This one iz 34 seconds shorter (I wonder why)…
EDIT: Now, I know why it’s shorter ‘cause it’s tha “(Radio)” version. See No. 2 fa tha review!

04. “Bitches (Reply)”
Lemme hear what ya got goin’ on here wit tha “reply”! >>> LMAO @ tha “bitchy, bitchy, bitchy” part, and tha “suck my pussy fa a pork chop” part! That lady iz hilarious!! It’s even on tha same beat, which I’m feelin’! I like when she says tha title! Who iz this lady? Does she get sourced or no? LOL @ tha “dicky, dicky, dicky!” Her and tha 3 word repeats! LMFAO @ tha “Oops, that’s sum head in yo teeth!” Hilarious!! My Rating: 4.5

05. “Ghetto Walk (Instrumental)”
Just an instrumental that’s only 50 seconds long? I checked, and I didn’t see anotha version of this, so… here goes my review fa tha instrumental, lol! >>> Kinda boring, slow, and too short to judge. My Rating: 2.4

06. “Lick The Cat”
Like Britney Spears says, “If U Seek Amy!!” LOL, more like (to tha females), “F-U-C-K- me!” >>> That female from tha “Bitches (Reply)” iz on this (I think) again! Ooh, “clit lickin’” lyrics! She’s REAL, REAL WILD WIT THA LYRICS!!!!! Ooh, she’s even gettin’ her swag on wit tha “polo jeans” and tha “girbauds;” FA REAL, SHE’S WATZ GOOD (1992 style)!!!!! CRAZY SONG; I like it betta than tha otha female song!! My Rating: 4.7

07. “Take It Like A Dog (Radio)”
Lemme check tha lengths to make sure this ain’t tha dirty version (‘cause its length iz 5:51)… *Checks* Shit, they’re one second apart (this bein’ longer). Since this tha “(Radio)” version, I’ll review tha 1st minute, and see if it’s dirty… BTW, lookin’ forward to hearin’ a real long joint! >>> Okay, decent start wit that okay/repetitive hook, but I peeked at tha “(Club)” version, and at tha 1:00 mark, I noticed it was dirty, so this time, tha ID was right! ‘Til then: See No. 8 fa tha review!

½time: LOL @ a ½time comin’ right up while I’m reviewin’ tha dirty/clean versions. So far, tha CD sounds great, especially tha female vocalist rapper!! Lookin’ forward to tha rest, but fa now, I’m gonna gargle, and then call my boy Jimmy The DJ. >>> Well, Jimmy didn’t answer, but Savage (Supa Sav) did! I can’t believe it has been 4 months and 1 day since I talked to him last on tha phone (due to number change)! Glad to be talkin’ to him again, and hopefully he likes my “Pyrex Radio Vol. 6: Arm & Hammer” commercials I made for Big Jay & his peoples! Now, back to this review!

08. “Take It Like A Dog (Club)”
Here goes tha dirty version! I’m startin’ it from tha 1:00 mark! >>> LOL @ how you say “daisy dukes” and tha “biiiiiiitch!” Sounds like tha 2nd verse iz catchy. LOL @ actually repeatin’ tha lyrics 3 extra times wit a flow that sounded so dry! Tha “didn’t use a rubber” part iz catchy, although too many people are havin’ kidz at a young age. Tha 3rd verse iz soundin’ BETTA wit tha “biiiiiiiiiiitch” part again (wit that part repeated 3 extra times too)! Nice “project bounce”! Even betta “project bounce” part around tha 3:10-3:19 mark! Tha “welfare check” part around tha 3:50 iz sad… Tha “biiiiiiiiiiiitch” part afta that iz just catchy (again), especially hearin’ that you just REALLY had some unprotected sex! I like tha “baseball bat” part too. My Rating: 4.3

09. “Talk To Me”
Typical title, so what to expect from you? Prolly greatness wit a female! >>> I like tha “roll this muthafucka!” intro in tha 1st 2 seconds! Almost sounds like Amanda Diva in tha beginning too… Tha repetitive lyrics work WELL wit all these songs fa you; they’re MEGA catchy!! LOL @ each one havin’ such a CATCHY dirty line! LOL @ tha lady sayin’ tha “pussy whip…” part! LOL @ “graduated from fuckin’;” How about: Fuckin’ High School! I like tha “suck my pussy” parts in tha background around 2:05! Ooh, tha “biiiiiiiiiiitch” part iz back (right afta), and this sounds like some GREAT Bounce music! This tha 1st review to have tha Bounce attribute in it! I LUV tha lady at 2:36 wit tha “suck it, suck it, suck it, lick it, lick it, lick it, eat it, eat it, suck it…, lick it…, eat it” part!! AMAZING, and it DIDN’T sound slow!!! Ended kinda outta nowhere, but I DEFINITELY enjoyed this shit! Great ending wit tha slow vocals this time too! My Rating: 4.4

10. “Bounce (For The Juvenile)”
That title looks like a “Bounce” joint, and wit it havin’ “for the juvenile” in “()”, I think this gon be fa tha young ladies!! >>> I hear tha typical “Paid In Full” type of beat here (1st beat sample on my marathon?)… Not a Bounce style, but we’ll see what happens… It sounded okay ‘til about :53 wit tha title. Ooh, tha part at 1:02 sounds good. I like tha “girbaud/polo” shit when your part about wantin’ clothes came up! What’s wit tha “that it” and “pop that coochie”? I thought this was ‘pose to be dirty and shit? I LUV tha fast rappin’ at 2:11! Sounds like I heard tha word “nigga” at 2:12.5? Well, tha “Juvenile” part in tha title I guess iz fa you (instead of tha juveniles) ‘cause you’re like, “You’re messin’ wit Mr. Juvenile, you’re messin’ wit Mr. Juvie!” A switch up to tha drug scene at 2:53 wit “I got that hard;” nice switch-up from all tha otha themes you rapped about! Even tha “sellin’ rocks” part at 3:02 as well! LOL @ tha “where tha virgins at?” at 3:11 part? Thanx fa givin’ me a shout out on that one. Nice admitting at 3:42 wit tha “Yes, I smoke weed” part; I like tha “fiya weed spliff” part at 3:49 too! Great job here, bruh. This turned out to be a pretty good song; you keep that flow very consistent!! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Put It In Gear”
Anotha long one… I wonder what you gon bring this time? >>> Beat iz regular-tempo’d… Sounds like a collab wit some female? Yeah, keep bein’ “explicit as a muddafucka!” That femaleish voice iz rappin’ at 1:30, and they sound good. LOL @ tha “7-11” part at 2:41. I really don’t know what to say here, so nothin’ special to compliment about wit this song… I do like tha “so, pass tha muthafuckin’ herbs” part at 3:59, and then, goes to sum NICE sniffin’ of bein’ high! After tha sniffin’, it got boring again. My Rating: 3.6

12. “Reprise”
Only 52 seconds? >>> Oh no, tha previous “beat’s back,” again. She rapped 4 lines, so it counts as a rating, as well as leavin’ me anticipated to why I have to “come and suck her toes!” My Rating: 3.0

13. “Project Bounce”
Anotha song wit “Bounce”; lookin’ forward!! >>> LOL, who would’ve asked fa a more simple hook than this? At :32, I was afraid it was just gonna be an instrumental wit only a hook, but no, at :41, tha rappin’ came! LOL @ tha “clean” shit in tha 1st verse. Well, it doesn’t sound like I’m “suckin’ a gurl’s toes” on this song (as I don’t hear tha gurl from tha last lil’ “Reprise” thang that popped off), so I don’t know. Still, this iz pretty nice wit its consistentness of “Bounce”. BTW, not bad change-up in tha beat at 3:48. My Rating: 3.8

14. “Got It Going On”
How much do you “have it going on”? >>> Yes, anotha Bounce song!! This just gets me MORE anticipated fa tha future CDs I’m gonna review! There’s OVA 600 LEFT TA REVIEW!!!!! Sounds good as it HAS “it goin’ on”!! That hook repeats a WHOLE LOT lot, and iz just GREAT!!! Luv tha “nigga, nigga, nigga” part (repeated), as well as tha effect you say it wit your tongue! LOL, you said that part SOOOOOOO MUCH!!! You were goin’ “dumb” back in ’92, so you KNOW Louisiana BEEN retarded!! LOL @ tha LONG-ASS ending!!! My Rating: 4.3

15. “Where They At (Instrumental)”
Ending wit tha instrumental? >>> LOL @ tha dirtyness no less! Once again: See No. 2 fa tha review!

Overall: Turned out to be a REAL nice CD, especially introducing Bounce to my marathon!! Lookin’ forward to continuing my marathon of Louisiana CDs, as well as givin’ more CDs like yours good reviews!
