Review #1,997: DJ Tremon "Trippy Tuesday 2"

Reviewed on 6.09.2021 (Review #1,997)

Keepin’ my reviewz goin’, as I’m almost to my 2,000th review! This next one iz my 1,997th review: DJ Tremon Trippy Tuesday 2, six years after 2015’s 1st Trippy Tuesday, courtesy of M.O.B. Entertainment! I’m honored ta review this one ‘cause, instead of just havin’ a drop on certain peoples’ releases, this tha 1st tyme I’m actually featured with a track on a compilation! Gotta luv tha honor! Start Tyme: 9:03 AM | End Tyme: 10:05 AM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. UGK “Swishas & Dosha”
>>> You may say, “Seven years later,” but my brother been gone six/same with tha 1st Trippy Tuesday? Or, did you release it secretly in 2014? Anyway, good lil’ intro from you & I can’t wait till I appear on here! With that bein’ said, hearin’ Pimp on tha 1st verse & he str8; mighta been betta if he spit more shit about bein’ loaded. Anyway, good lil’ country-rap sound on tha hook from him, here, with tha singin’ & luv for tha highs! Also, Bun B sounds good with his consistent, regular-rapped flow on tha 2nd verse; good shit… My Rating: 3.7

02. Juicy J feat. Pimp C “Smokin’, Rollin’”
>>> Lol, just a quick check-in from Bald-Head B—oh wait, after a few seconds, it wasn’t just a “waddup,” here. Good lil’ intro & sounds good with tha hook, here; all about tha “smokin’” & “rollin’”! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Juicy & it sounds a lot more like his 1st self with his organic flow; glad he don’t sound like tha mainstream Juicy, here. With that bein’ said, keep “smokin’”; keep “rollin’”! Keepin’ it goin’ wit Pimp on tha 2nd verse & I’m glad he has his organic flow on tha rappin’, too; gotta stay original! So glad he was for tha undaground & undadogz, just like myself…! My Rating: 4.3

03. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “Talent Show”
>>> Nice intro from you, courtesy of tha “Florida Blvd.” destination… Compared to tha previous two tracks on here, I’m not really tha craziest about Mr. Khalifa, when it comes to a southern/Louisiana compilation. Tha hook like a cheesy pop-rap vibe, here; even tha title doesn’t have a smoke reference in tha title…! Continuin’ on, Wiz iz on tha 1st verse & it’s str8; just sounds like he wants to rap with a boring flow, here. My Rating: 3.0

04. Lil’ Boosie feat. Pimp C “I Smoke Blunts”
>>> Gotta luv tha throwback Boosie, here; true Louisianimal to tha fullest! Great job with tha 1st verse ova this beat, Boosie; all about bein’ true to da streetz! Also, a nice lil’ hook from Pimp with tha “blunts,” here; gotta dig it! Mo Boosie on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit a shmoker’s “warrant” nightmare; deep but great ta hear, here… My Rating: 4.3

05. Mystikal “Still Smokin’”
>>> Luv his energy & aggression to where he only needs 81 seconds of Tremon’s tyme to set tha score high! I feel like I’ve felt him more on tha mic, as far as his aggression & delivery; this just seems like it’s okay/str8. I’ll still rate it as if I “love it,” tho, due to it bein’ Mystikal. My Rating: 4.0

06. Big Bandit “Henny Straight”
Producer: Playa Pizzle
Originally known tha “Straight” as “Str8” but this cool, still… Anyway, gotta luv Big Bandit choosin’ this Lil’ Cali sample fa tha hook—I should say, Playa Pizzle, since he produced it. Tha hook pretty dope & I’m glad Tremon supports tha drinkin’ of “Henny Straight”, straight from tha bottle! With that bein’ said, Big Bandit holds this shit down fa us ‘80s babies on tha 1st verse, comin’ through, “jiggin’ in this thang” & shit; nice & unstoppable! Also, tha 2nd verse cool, too; all tha DJs he shouts out, too, iz what’s up…! “Tremon”; he knows! My Current Rating: 4.6

07. Playboy XO feat. OBN Jay “To The Roof”
>>> Anotha hit-soundin’ track fa tha streetz & clubz of B.R., here; gotta appreciate Playboy! Props fa him comin’ through wit tha “To The Roof” action on tha hook, here; energy fa dayz!! Even on tha 1st verse, Playboy got this shit on lock; just luv how he comes through wit it! He may have a similar sound from his “Booted Up” shit but with this formula, he can keep consistently stackin’! Keep “jiggin’ out [yo] draws” & bein’ “To The Roof”! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & OBN Jay comin’ through with a nice contribution fa this, too; glad Playboy gettin’ his shine on! My Rating: 4.8

08. Fabo feat. Jeezy “Geeked Up (Remix)”
>>> Sounds okay/good fa a non-Louisiana track; Jeezy’s soundin’ good with his flow on tha 1st verse. I literally feel like I’m in tha 2000’s with Jeezy, again; great job… Hearin’ tha hook & it literally sounds like an asthma attack? Cheesy; like, coughin’ coulda helped, lol? Fabo on tha 2nd verse & he sounds like he was from so long ago. Like, his solo shit started 14 years ago, with that “Tattoo” shit? Crazy; I still feel like I’m 18/19, tho, only with evolved wayz. Seems like it’s an okay verse from him but it seems like it’s from so long ago or somethin’, compared to these current tymes… My Rating: 3.6

09. Lil’ Boosie feat. Webbie “Smokin’ On Purple”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ young Boosie, here; nice beat & how energized he iz fa tha 1st verse! Go, Boosie! Gotta luv how Boosie comin’ through on tha hook; all about tha “ease” of tha “mind”! No room fa Webbie? My Rating: 4.2

10. Three 6 Mafia “Where’s Da Bud”
>>> Doesn’t sound like Three 6, here; sounds like their production, tho. Tha hook sounds like it’s from tha ‘90s & tha verse that’s here sounds like some random rapper. My Rating: 3.1

11. Webbie feat. Lil’ Phat “Doe Doe”
I reviewed this one all tha way back on February 26, 2008, 1,930 reviewz ago (Webbie’s Savage Life 2 was my 67th review). Glad to see that I gave it a 4.1, durin’ those younger tymes; I wanna see if I’m still feelin’ tha same with my rating… *Re-Hears…* It sounds betta, especially hearin’ how much betta ’08 was fa me, now! I’ll raise my original rating to a higher one… My Current Rating: 4.4

12. Frank Calhoune feat. Level “I’m Edibled Up”
Producer: DJ B Real
Lol, gotta luv it, especially when it follows a title that’s one of my favorite people in BR (“Doe Doe”; only difference iz my patna, Boosie’s cousin, iz with a dash: Doe-Doe)! Anything anybody need ta know about my lyrics & how I come up with what I come up with, here’s tha link of how I break ‘em down: https://frankiethaluckydog.blogspot.com/2021/04/album-03-frank-calhoune-autistic-stoner.html

As far as tha track, itself, ironically, I wanted to start with “feat.” as tha ID but I tried “x” to represent tha strength of tha collab. However, I can’t figure out how all tha dance/EDM artists have “x” in their IDs. Anyway, I kept “feat.” & you were tha 1st one to have “feat.” in tha ID, which I later considered. With that bein’ said, I luv how I had all energy applied to this collab. Tha way that I visioned it & everythang, I just wanted tha edibles to speak! Luved that I was on 30 mg of edibles on this recording, just lettin’ it be known on tha hook! It’s all about tha effects of tha edible! With me on tha 1st verse, I just luv how I add tha “chiggy-chiggy” to “chocolate,” just bein’ a human DJ, with my voice/flow! Also, havin’ tha “I’m edibled up” part from tha hook to repeat 4x on my verse? That’s to consistently pump tha energy into people! Also, Level sounds dope with his collab, of course; luv tha energy he brought to tha table, of course! Only thang iz he was afraid of tha edible I went to give him, durin’ tha videoshoot. It wasn’t even potent but he acted like it was gon make him crazy, smh. Either way, definitely a highlight in my career & I will continue to bring it! My Current Rating: 5.0

13. Playboi Peezo “Incoherent Thoughts”
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here; sounds like tha regular shit from tha trap-rap shit that’s out, these dayz. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I ain’t feel it too much with tha “money” shit, at first. However, as tha verse continues, dude gets more consistent with tha rhymes & doesn’t stop; hope tha catchiness can remain till 2:33! Hearin’ tha hook & I’m real glad he split tha verses up with a hook; I almost was afraid it was gon be just one verse! Tha hook dope, as he a lil’ distorted in tha background with tha pill feelin’ & shit; gotta let it be known! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it he pretty motivated/focused, still; gotta luv what he bringin’! My Rating: 4.5

14. Famous “This Blunt”
Lol, I thought this looked familiar, just like tha last Trippy Tuesday; welcome home, accordin’ to you, Tremon! My Current Rating: 4.5

½tyme: Definitely sounds betta than tha 1st Trippy Tuesday, so far; really feelin’ tha consistency with most of tha tracks! So glad my energy & contribution iz a part of this mixtape compilation; definitely goes well with err-body, here! Currently, for this release, it’s a 4.1-rated compilation, so far; keep goin’, Tremon! Tha Trippy Tuesdays & that truck of yours!

15. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “Put It In A Zag”
>>> Sounds like an okay beat & contribution, once again; at least there’s more Snoop… Hearin’ Wiz on tha verse & he sounds okay, switchin’ with Snoop with tha rhymes; not bad, even tho more pop-rappy, once again… My Rating: 2.9

16. Nas “Smokin’”
>>> He’s a lil’ too NY fa this mixtape compilation; more on tha rappin’ side than tha laidback, “Smokin’” side… With that bein’ said, I don’t really have much feedback fa dis; hook cool but if I was listenin’ in ’02 or somethin’… My Rating: 2.1

17. Jay-Z “Feelin’ It”
I usually despise Jigga & have known this one since my younger dayz, too. Anyway, should just despise this fa appearin’ but if this was your truck playin’ this, it would be a nice blend. Remember that this review iz a review perspective vs. tha truck (future/current) perspective. With that bein’ said, Jigga prolly coulda been left out. Also, how iz he even on your Bandcamp upload, as well as tha other mainstream ones? Ain’t that DatPiff-like, not to sell? But yeah, I have to admit, I do feel his energy fa this mixtape & tha fact that he “Feelin’ It”; I won’t be too harsh… My Current Rating: 3.5

18. Lil’ Wayne “La La La”
>>> These younger Wayne dayz…; I don’t recognize this one, exactly, but this was when his rhymes were consistent, bar for bar…! Tha beat ain’t too bad but more on tha Jigga/Nas tip, as far as tha production goes. Tha hook kinda cheesy with these kids singin’; doesn’t seem so shmoky fa me… Tha 2nd verse from him sounds good with tha consistent rhymes; I’ll give him his props… My Rating: 4.2

19. Lil’ Wayne “Kush”
Also reviewed on February 27, 2008, but 1,928 reviewz ago, lol… Lil’ Wayne’s In The Carter Chronicles…! My Current Rating: 4.7

20. Master P “Smokin’ Weed In My Cadillac”
>>> Long with tha 54-second intro, here, especially fa this mixtape that has tracks only seconds longer, overall… Anyway, after tha long intro of tha ‘90s, tha hook’s dope from P, here. I don’t remember if I reviewed this somewhere along tha line, since I got through almost all tha ‘90s releases in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon. However, P sounds good with tha verse, here; glad he holdin’ it down like a leader & comin’ through fa tha “weed in” a “Cadillac,” here! My Rating: 4.4

21. Mofo “Rain Man”
My Current Rating: 3.2

22. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “It Could Be Easy”
>>> Sounds like it’s followin’ a slower, boring flow, here; I feel like I can’t anticipate tha titles when they don’t have a shmoke/high reference in ‘em… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s ehh; it doesn’t need feedback. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Wiz & it’s str8; not bad but why this gets 3:55 on tha length? Seems too boring fa that length on this mixtape… Wiz made me feel like I was real young when he said that he was a “Game Genie”; interestin’… Hearin’ Snoop on tha 2nd verse & it’s aight; again, there coulda been somethin’ else (e.g., Louisiana) in its spot, here… My Rating: 2.4

23. OutKast “Crumblin’ Herb”
>>> It feels weird ta be reviewin’ OutKast… I would think with how much they sold out in 2003/2004 that they would be far past tha “herb,” these dayz. However, this b4 tha sellout tymes & it’s soundin’ good with 3K on tha 1st verse. Hearin’ tha hook & it cool with tha ‘90s vibe, but through Atlanta; still good, tho. Hearin’ a young-ass Big Boi on tha 2nd verse & he sounds consistent/good with his old-school flow/rhymes; that “’94 Lexus,” huh, Big Boi? All about tha ‘9-4! Overall, again, this cool but I woulda felt more appreciated if it was a Louisiana artist rather than them. My Rating: 3.9

24. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “That Good”
>>> Glad these two are puttin’ a shmoke reference in tha title, this tyme… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s aight; again, it’s not tha shit I’d go duffy over. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Snoop & it’s aight; good lyrics about tha shmoke, at least… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Wiz & it’s whateva with these lyrics; they’re not gonna make me jump…! Startin’ ta sound a lil’ more on tha wack side, as tha 2nd verse continues… My Rating: 2.6

25. Future “The Percocet & Stripper Joint”
Dear God, why him, now? >>> Sounds like tha beat’s almost similar but more southern than tha joint I just heard from Snoop & Wiz? Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s whateva; glad his voice ain’t as annoyin’ as it used ta be. Hearin’ tha hook & it’s almost wtf-like; he sounds like he’s gettin’ more & more fucked up, as tha hook progresses… I think that’s interestin’ how he put it; at least he ain’t all annoying. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s str8; I’m still not gonna jump fa joy wit this one, tho. My Rating: 3.3

26. Devin The Dude “Please Pass That To Me”
>>> Outta all tha non-Louisiana artists on this release, I think Devin tha best, when it comes to tha laidback, high-type of music. Even tho this more on tha slow side, at least we’re toward tha end of tha mixtape to bring out that slower vibe. Hearin’ him on tha hook & it’s pretty zoned-out; gotta respect it… Hearin’ him on tha 1st verse & it’s decent with tha rhymes; not my favorite but I’ll give him his props… Tha rest of this seems like it drags? Guess I need a blunt? Not that bad, overall; just a lil’ supa-slow fa my tastes… My Rating: 3.4

27. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “French Inhale”
>>> Weird hook & random voice; why it gotta be a “French Inhale”, tho? Like, are we fuckin’ & inhalin’ at tha same tyme? Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Wiz & it’s aight, once again; glad tha lyrics all about tha “smoke,” at least! Gotta “smell it all through [tha] clothes”; that’s that cologne! Keepin’ it movin’ with Snoop on tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay; nothin’ really fa me ta say… My Rating: 3.2

28. Devin The Dude “Do You Love Gettin’ High”
>>> Even more laidback than tha previous Devin track, here; sounds like a nice lil’ hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & he sounds great with this chill, shmoked-out perspective; gotta keep it up! Glad he 50, still doin’ it all shmoked out; shmokin’ don’t come wit an age! After tha 2nd hook, it went a lil’ dry fa a sec.; no more rappin’? At least it’s a nice break? My Rating: 3.8

29. Devin The Dude “Doobie Ashtray”
Endin’ with a 5:17 length? Did you just wanna shout out OMG JT with tha length, since it’s his birthday length (5/17)? >>> Hearin’ this & you sound good on tha intro, Tremon; sounds like a nice way ta end thangz. Hearin’ tha hook & it’s really laidback; luv how he rhymes tha title with “why’d they do me that way?”! I feel like each Devin track keeps gettin’ more & more hazy/loaded, with how it sounds? Tha 1st verse from him cool with this laidbackness; I’ll leave it at that. Keepin’ it goin’ with tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ good, with his laidback-ass; keep it movin’…! A nice lil’ interlude of mixin’ after tha 3rd hook, here; definitely nice! Luv how tha laidback, loadedness doesn’t get boring fa this 317 seconds of a track! Tha rest of this still sounds nice with tha mixin’ & bein’ lost in this “doobie” effect! I like how he “found a bag of weed,” toward tha end; dope! I’m gonna be generous with this one, especially since it ended thangz off right! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Thought this was a great release, for tha most part; tha main highlight iz tha Louisiana music, of course. Glad you resurrected your Trippy Tuesday compilations & I hope you continue with more of ‘em, especially for your truck! Seems like this review went by quick; guess that’s tha plus for havin’ so many tracks? Keep it movin’, big homie; thanx fa tha luv! Hope more of my other tracks hit your Trippy Tuesday compilations, especially since most of ‘em are all about tha highs!

Review #1,996: DJ Tremon "Trippy Tuesday"

Reviewed on 6.08.2021 (Review #1,996)

As I’m two dayz early with slowly reachin’ my goal, I decided to shift back from tha 2000’s to tha recent/those from years ago. Specifically, I’m talkin’ ‘bout my boy, DJ Tremon & his Trippy Tuesday compilations, courtesy of M.O.B. Entertainment! This release iz from 2015 & I see there’s a bunch of throwback/non-Louisiana shit on here. I’m not 100% sure how I gon feel on each one; we’ll see. Also, if I already reviewed a track in tha past, I’ll just put tha current rating for each. Without further or do, let’s see how great this under-tha-influence-type of compilation gon be…! Start Tyme: 7:13 PM | End Tyme: 8:02 PM

01. Samuel Maurice feat. Young B “Come & Smoke With Me”
>>> Props fa tha “4:20 AM”! As far as this, I ain’t think this was a slow jam; I understand fa 4/20 but to kick off tha set with this slow jam iz a no-no fa me… At least there’s life brought to it with Mr. Young B with tha good, laidback, summer-like feelin’… Still, Samuel doesn’t equal Jodeci! My Rating: 1.6

02. Foxx “Smokin’ Loud”
My Current Rating: 4.4

03. Juicy J “Smoked Out, Dabbed Out”
>>> Thought this was gon be a lot older, like a 2000 throwback or somethin’. Hearin’ this & it sounds like today’s boring flow… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good with tha screwed voice; only way ta get high, basically? Likin’ how he “on a dab!” Good-goin’ with how he comes through fa tha rest of this; not too bad, overall. My Rating: 3.4

04. Lil’ Boosie “For My Thugs”
I only had just reviewed Boosie’s Youngest Of Da Camp, earlier last week. Barely have dived into Boosie’s catalog, since I only made it to tha year 2000 with my old-school reviewz… >>> Gotta feel tha throwback Louisiana sound fa tha Rouge! Great lil’ production & this hook from one of tha greatest! All about celebratin’ & counteractin’ bad vibes! Hearin’ Boosie on tha 1st verse & he sounds excellent ta hold it down fa tha hood, of course; good shit, to tha max! Tha 2nd verse sounds good with how Boosie just owns every situation; good shit…! My Rating: 4.4

05. Mystikal “I Smell Smoke”
>>> Definitely feelin’ his throwback, N’awlinz appearance, here; all about tha “smoke” & tha aggressive flow/voice! Like how he says, “AM turns to PM”; I wish I can make tyme go quick, today, while I’m still tryna find a full-tyme… My Rating: 4.2

06. Colonel Loud feat. Young Dolph & Rico Barrino “California”
I remember this, when I heard it & had it in rotation, back in 2015; Dunkin’, Dunkin’, Dunkin’. Also, it was these tymes, where DJ B Real had me blocked & I slightly had went a lil’ mainstream with my tastes, at tymes. Anyway, feels like I haven’t heard this in a long while; I think I really liked this, att (at tha tyme), due to tha shomkin’ theme & Young Dolph. Always appreciate tha sunny-soundin’ vibes in this, includin’ tha appreciation fa Cali…! My Current Rating: 4.0

07. Lil’ Phat feat. Mouse “Take A Puff”
Only Phat outta tha three of ‘em? *Re-Hears…* Naw, y’all missin’ Mouse on tha feature! Shell woulda been here if only his verse was here… My Current Rating: 4.9

08. Juicy J feat. Rae Sremmurd “Already”
>>> Sounds like whateva when Swae Lee comes through, on tha hook; not really any comment fa this mainstreamness… Hearin’ Juicy come through & this flow’s a lil’ betta than his previous joint on here… My Rating: 3.0

09. Young B feat. Dino Danja, Jaye London, Lil’ Scottie & Dae~Dae “Bars N My Fanta”
My Current Rating: 4.7

10. Dylan Cage feat. Jimi Jump & Jose Guapo “In My System”
>>> Luvin’ how Dylan comin’ through with everythang “in [his] system,” just embracin’ shit; definitely nice, with a decent beat… Hearin’ Dylan on tha 1st verse & it’s cool; diggin’ his consistent street content fa this fucked-up “system.” Also, luvin’ how on tha 2nd hook, Jimi Jump comes through as an ‘80s baby in his 30’s with tha unstoppable “system”; huh bruh…! Always luv his voice on tha mic & tha great vibe of Baton Rouge he brings to tha table; always welcome ta hold it down, Jimi! Ain’t Jose Guapo one of those random rappers from 2015? I remember tha name & thought this collab threw me off with him bein’ featured… Anyway, I (sarcastically) luv how he comes through with these rhymes like he a millionaire; still, a lil’ entertainin’ but I want an all-Louisiana collab! My Rating: 4.3

11. Beatking “Powder”
>>> Beat a lil’ typical-soundin’ with this trap sound; hook sounds a lil’ random with random words bein’ spit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds okay, I guess…; I like that “kushijuana” combined word, tho! Tha rest of this shit ain’t bad; basically, it’s just rappin’. My Rating: 3.2

12. Wiz Khalifa “Never Been”
>>> Likin’ tha intro from you & DJ Scrap, Tremon; nice shit! Of course, Wiz big about tha shmokin’ & this sounds like a good addition fa this Trippy Tuesdayness. Hearin’ tha hook & it’s like, fuck tha “bankroll” shit; rather it’ve just been nothin’ but high references…! My Rating: 3.7

13. Hey Daem feat. Spitta “Need To Smoke”
>>> Hearin’ that Daem dude on tha 1st verse & iz this a lotta improvement? Remembered how awful he was, back in tha early 2010’s, with watered-down a-tune. Now, he sounds tougher on here but still struggles with a-tune addiction, at tymes, such as on this track. I think I talked too soon about what I was sayin’ with tha 1st verse ‘cause it spilled into tha hook, smfh! Yucky-soundin’ hook! Hearin’ Spitta’s contribution & at least he’s 100% organic with his voice/everythang! Keep spittin’, Spitta! My Rating: 2.2

½tyme: A 3.7-rated release, currently; mainly, most of tha tracks are good/decent, while there are excellent throwbacks & some shitty tracks.

14. Dae~Dae & Dino Danja “The Highway”
My Current Rating: 4.8

15. Juicy J feat. K Camp “One More Drink”
>>> Oh yeah, I remember this; didn’t recognize it, at first; Music Choice Rap… K Camp does a catchy job with tha hook to get a “lil’ bit” fucked up, ya feel me? Also, a good lil’ flow from Juicy, as well; 2015 was definitely a loaded year! This mixtape was released on my late brother’s final birthday; he died 12 dayz later from morphine, xanz & heroin, smh. My Current Rating: 4.1

16. M-16 “Cupps Up”
Producer: EQ Tha Misfit
>>> S/O to EQ Tha Misfit on tha beat; gotta luv tha club vibe! Sounds like a good lil’ hook; all about tha clubs! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & dude got tha energy on lock; props fa keepin’ it movin’ fa Tremon, here! Tha rest of this shit pretty focused & fulla energy; good shit, my dude! My Rating: 4.3

17. Dae~Dae “Get Lifted”
>>> A slower vibe fa Dae, here… Hearin’ him on tha 1st verse & it’s cool with his choice ta 365-like “Get Lifted”; huh bruh…! “I’m loaded, like, 24/7”; glad dude luv tha shmoke! Tha hook sappy with tha singin’ but with this hook, it gets tha props ‘cause tha only lyrics are “high…; get lifted”; that’s all you need! Luv how Dae comes through on tha 2nd verse with tha “you shmokin’ doo-doo” & shit, dude definitely official! Glad I got ta shmoke wit him tha night I met you, on October 13, 2017! Nice lil’ outro from Tremon, as well, takin’ it to “Airline.” My Rating: 4.2

18. Famous “This Blunt”
>>> Dude definitely focused fa “This Blunt”!! Gotta luv how focused & energetic he iz on this hook!! Beat ain’t too bad ta rap on; a lil’ simple but it’s dope with Famous on it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Famous & he got cool energy; glad he luv to get high!! Tha 2nd verse cool with how he continues this shmoke obsession; good shit! My Rating: 4.5

19. Luniz feat. E-40, Shock G, Richie Richie, Spice 1 & Dru Down “I Got 5 On It (Bay Ballers Remix)”
Not only iz tha file removed, due to it bein’ a mainstream song but I can’t play any bit of it. Wait a second, tho; there’s more mainstream tracks on here. Like, why did this & a few others choose to get removed, instead, due to their copyright bullshit? Anyway, I prolly have heard tha remix b4 but for tha most part, this an okay song; more recognized for tha beat, tho. My Current Rating: 3.1

20. Young B “Where The Tabs At”
My Current Rating: 4.6

21. Z-Ro feat. Lil’ O “I Can’t Leave Drank Alone”
Anotha one removed but I found a way to sample it… >>> Lmao @ tha old beat tag from that “My Dougie” producer. Hearin’ tha hook & luv how Z-Ro real focused with tha “drank” & all that. Hearin’ him on tha 1st verse & I’m real glad throughout all these decades, he still can get fucked up like it’s nothin’. Really luv how he comes through on his verse, includin’ how he “po’d up with DJ Screw fa [his] 22nd birthday,” especially that it was on “Monday” & that he “didn’t wake up till Thursday”; crazy! As far as Lil’ O, hadn’t heard him since 2006 when him & George Floyd’s group, tha S.U.C., was on my playlist with undaground tracks. As far as his verse, it aight; who needs tha “money in my pocket” line, tho… My Rating: 4.4

22. Big Moe “Bar Baby”
From one S.U.C. dude to tha next…! >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ throwback, slow-soundin’ beat fa Big Moe, here; catchy lil’ hook, too. Hearin’ what he got on tha verse & it sounds great/more loaded on tha mic than Z-Ro; too bad his addiction caught up with him. My Rating: 3.5

23. DJ Tremon “WMOB Commercial Break”
>>> Sounds nice; I still haven’t experienced a high through “lean,” yet; we’ll see when that’ll be… My Rating: N/A

24. Dedrick Jamal feat. Hey Daem “Slow Motion”
>>> Cool lil’ beginning; luv when tha BPMs are double tha speed than tha norm, on tha hook! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad from Dedrick, here; sounds like a typical flow with nothin’ really standin’ out, except that double BPM part in tha beat. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s aight; feelin’ how Daem comin’ through on tha double BPM’d part of tha beat! My Rating: 3.6

25. Webbie “Laid Way Back”
Producer: Mouse
Webbie’s Savage Life was tha 1st Louisiana rap album I eva purchased, back on July 6, 2005. I wasn’t even reviewin’ at tha tyme but supported certain artists, at tha tyme. I rememba this one & I rememba how consistent that release was; I was like, “There’s somethin’ special about how consistent all these tracks are…!” Lil’ did I know, it was tha heart of tha Jigga City & Mouse on tha tracks! With this track, you gotta luv tha catchiness of Webbie’s luv fa “high dro” & Mouse’s dope-ass beat sounds! Of course, tha rhymes sound awesome on some of Mouse’s best beats! My Current Rating: 4.4

26. Slim Thug feat. Muggs & Kevin Gates “What You Mean To Me”
>>> An okay slow beat; sounds decent with Slim Thug’s 2015 flow, here; an okay 1st verse but at least he on tha “weed” tip, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like an attempt at Gates bein’ catchy but it’s just a sappy-soundin’, slow-soundin’ hook… Hearin’ tha Muggs dude on tha 2nd verse & he str8; I like how he focused fa tha “weed,” in tha end. Even room fa Gates ta have a 3rd verse, here…; glad he ain’t singin’. His 2015 rappin’ decent but I’m glad it earned success wit me, thanx to tracks like “I Don’t Get Tired” & his collab with Chedda Da Connect. My Rating: 3.3

27. Symore Banks “2 Good 2 Quited”
>>> Lol, ain’t no what to expect, here, except I had thought tha title looked like Sauce Walka’s; now, I know why. I’ono about this chick jackin’ tha Sauce beat but I guess it’s good fa tha “pussy.” But Tremon, I’ono if I would consider it a “drug,” yet, tha “strongest” one… Hearin’ what she comin’ through on tha verse & she sounds like a lesbian? Into tha “clit,” here? Sounds interestin’, even tho it ain’t that great of a track fa me… My Rating: 2.1

Overall: I wonder how Trippy Tuesday 2 gon go, when I review it? I’m glad I got tha chance ta review this one b4 my 2,000th review mark. With that bein’ said, keep tha Trippy Tuesday up; it’ll get betta!

Review #1,982: C-Murder "Trapped In Crime"

Reviewed on 6.04.2021 (Review #1,982)

Here comes my 1,982nd review: C-Murder Trapped In Crime, released in 2000 on No Limit Records, Priority Records & TRU Records! Start Tyme: 8:39 AM | End Tyme: 9:49 AM

01. Intro
Producer: Carlos Stephens
>>> Nice beat & intro from that boy, C-Murder…! My Rating: N/A

02. “Forever TRU”
Producer: XL
>>> Tha hook & beat sound good ta kick this album off; almost seems more like a vacation with tha beat than a street-soundin’ beat? Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it sounds aight with what you’re bringin’, here; can’t say much… Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 2nd verse & it ain’t bad, still… Nice lil’ mixed outro from Biggie, as well…! My Rating: 3.8

03. “Concrete Jungle” feat. Snoop Dogg, Eastsidaz & KokeKane
Producer: LT
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ 1st verse from Snoop, here; likin’ how tha beat sounds like a mix between non-Louisiana & a Louisiana vibe, as well… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds aight; just seems like a random voice. Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ some good shit… Hearin’ you rap on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through with good street shit; gotta give you props, alwayz… My Rating: 3.7

04. “They Don’t Really Know” feat. Master P & Erica Fox
Producer: Carlos Stephens
>>> Diggin’ tha alarm clock in tha beat, here; not really my cup of tea with tha R&B singin’ from Erica on tha hook, tho… Damn, even Erica on tha 1st verse? Naw; way too soft for a C-Murder track! Even you startin’ your verse off on tha 2nd verse with “1 + 1 = 2”? *Sigh*… Keepin’ this movin’ with P on tha 3rd verse, here & he spittin’ a good lil’ verse. Surprised how I’d like a P verse betta than a C verse, while tha both of them on tha same track… My Rating: 2.5

05. “How A Thug Like It” feat. Da Brat
Producer: Jermaine Dupri & Bryan-Michael Cox
Goin’ to tha ATL for inspiration? >>> Sounds nice with tha Jermaine Dupri-soundin’ intro & beat, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds interestin’ how you collaborated with Da Brat, here; nice collab on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it sounds betta than tha previous song, with how you’re comin’ through fa these ladies & street headz… Keepin’ this movin’ with Da Brat on tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ good fa tha 2000. She did her thang with her Tyrese-featurin’ “What Chu Like”, which I really enjoyed in 2000. Now, I get ta hear her collab with you & it sounds great to add to “What Chu Like”’s 2000 presence. Hearin’ tha both of y’all go back & forth on tha 3rd verse & it sounds nice with tha street content. It just seems weird ta hear Brat rap about tha streetz, tho; either way, props fa pumpin’ her up, C! My Rating: 3.9

06. “Want Beef” feat. Fat Joe
Producer: Ke’noe
>>> Beat’s cool from Ke’noe, here…; hearin’ Joey Crack on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through with anotha good, non-Louisiana contribution ta your album, C… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like a wild event; keep buckin’ ‘em up! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, C & you’re comin’ through with some energy; nice job… My Rating: 3.8

07. “Ride” feat. Samm & D.I.G.
Producer: XL
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ hook, here, on this laidback, southern beat; keep on ridin’…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & they got a good lil’ verse fa tha hood, here; gotta hit ‘em wit da content! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & dude also sounds good fa tha streetz of tha 504, here; keep on keepin’ on…! Got you on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ gangsta with your content; props fa lettin’ this shit be known… My Rating: 3.9

08. “Staring At The Walls”
Producer: Carlos Stephens
>>> Beat start sounds dope from Big Los, here; feelin’ tha dark sounds! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s good, despite tha content bein’ pretty rough; C, I can’t wait till you’re “free”! Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse & it sounds good, with your laidback flow. Can’t wait till you have a lil’ more energy to deliver on this album, aside from these laidback flows… Keepin’ this thang movin’ on with tha 2nd verse, here & you spittin’ good shit fa tha Gz; keep bein’ “against 100,” no matter tha challenge! My Rating: 4.0

09. “On Da Block” feat. Young Guns
Producer: Bass Heavy & Suga Bear
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here; seems a lil’ faster ta rap on? Hearin’ tha hook from you & it str8; thought it would be a lil’ aggressive? Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds like an okay/good lil’ verse from you… Hearin’ these Guns on tha 2nd verse & they sound good on this collab; literally, it’s startin’ ta sound like a TRU-soundin’ Cash Money track. Tha 2nd dude from tha Young Guns iz on tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse & it’s still a good contribution; just tha right amount of energy needed. My Rating: 4.0

10. “What You ‘Bout” feat. Mystikal
Producer: Ke’noe
Hope tha energy’s to tha top wit Mystikal, here!! >>> Nice beat fa tha Gz, here; gotta luv tha both of y’all on tha hook, of course! Luv how Mystikal lends you some of his energy to reach tha top of your energy; awesomeness! Hearin’ Mystikal on tha 1st verse & it’s too aggressive; gotta luv how he comes through on tha mic, sometymes sloppy…! Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 2nd verse & it’s cool; thought you’d have tha energy Mystikal had on tha verse but it’s still str8. I mean, you got tha consistent rhymes, here; just seems like you’re just keepin’ up with tha pace… My Rating: 4.3

11. Battlefield
>>> Sounds like a cold, breezy “Battlefield”, based off this skit. Also, pretty gutta with tha gunshots… Tha chick singin’ in tha background makes it seem like tha eerie “Battlefield” that’s needed to make this album seem more eerie… My Rating: N/A

12. “Where Do We Go” feat. Mac, Silkk The Shocker & Nuance
Producer: Ke’noe
>>> An okay beat but not too interested in that Nuance singer singin’ on tha hook; too depressin’… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds good with your rhymes; it only seems dry with tha flow & depressin’ vibe. Keepin’ this thang movin’ with Mac on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with a rough perspective with tha jail demons hauntin’ him. I feel his paranoia & I’m glad he spit some dope lyrics, str8 from a real, haunted heart…! Keepin’ this movin’ with Silkk on tha 3rd verse and, of course, tha flow’s off & more spoken than rappin’, smh; don’t need ta say anything… My Rating: 3.0

½tyme: I see this as tha weakest C-Murder album from previous efforts; seems like it’s a mix of mainstream, a lil’ bit of sadness & some okay vibes. I think you need more energy in this album, C; only a 3.7 for tha average rating, so far…

13. “NL Niggaz” feat. Afficial
Producer: Ke’noe
>>> Anotha nice beat from Ke’noe but I expect more darker, street-soundin’ shit from him, rather than this vacation-like shit. Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good from you, at least; still, seems like these beats make you feel more laidback… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & you spittin’ some okay shit fa tha “No Limit” peeps; gotta rep! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Afficial & I’m feelin’ his energy, while he delivers tha rhymes; good shit fa tha streetz… Anotha dude on tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse? Sounds good; reminds me of non-Louisiana shit with tha voice & delivery, here. My Rating: 3.6

14. “Too Much Noise” feat. D.I.G. & Master P
Producer: DJ Ron
>>> Sounds like a good beat & tha hook sounds good from D.I.G., here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from D & it’s cool; block out tha “noise” ta succeed, basically! Keepin’ it goin’ wit Master P on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit an okay verse; he expressin’ his “problems” as “Too Much Noise”, here. Hearin’ you on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit an okay flow & set of rhymes; keep on reppin’… My Rating: 3.7

15. “Damned If They Murder Me” feat. Mac & Magic
Producer: XL
>>> Beat’s a lil’ calmer but still has a bit of a dark vibe with tha organ. Still, it seems a lil’ more mainstream, based off my feelings for it… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds rough with tha content; too bad tha thought of bein’ murdered iz on your mind… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it ain’t bad with how you’re comin’ through wit it… Hearin’ tha 2nd hook & now, a female singer iz singin’ in tha background; I’ono, you prolly coulda excluded her. She makes this sound more depressin’ & I’m not ‘bout dat depressin’ shit. As I continue, at least there’s Mac on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit his game of tha streetz; props fa reppin’ fa C…! Got Magic on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through calm, too; not really into tha laidback, calm-soundin’ flows. When I think of certain people bein’ on tha track, I expect energy & top-notch feelings; this, no… My Rating: 3.1

16. “Hustlin’” feat. Master P & Krazy
Producer: Ezell Swang
>>> Damn, anotha secretly-sung hook? Why? Beat cool fa tha south but again, it sounds too laidback for tha C that I’m used to… Hearin’ P on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some good energy ta express tha luv fa “Hustlin’”, here; let it be known! Keepin’ it goin’ with tha right energy added to tha album: Krazy; Krazy comin’ through wit dat Pac-like flow, voice & strong street content, here! Gotta give him props; take notice of tha energy & slight aggression in tha flow, C! Now, here you are on tha 3rd verse, C, comin’ through, of course, laidback; decent, with some sadness of tha “gunshot,” too… My Rating: 3.3

17. “That Calliope”
Producer: XL
>>> Finally, deserved energy!! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s a hot chant to represent “That Calliope”! Almost thought it was gonna be a bounce beat but tha energy’s just about tha same! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & you holdin’ it down wit this energy; don’t stop, C!! Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 2nd verse & it sounds funny/cool ta hear you rap a bounce flow; good shit, C! You know what it iz with this “Calliope” representation! You got tha 3rd verse on-n-poppin’, too; you don’t need tha lyrics, all tha tyme! You always need tha right energy, applied right! My Rating: 4.3

18. “Young Thugs” feat. Holloway of The GC, Popeye & Jabo
Producer: XL
>>> Sounds sad; what a way to throw away tha last song’s energy! Hearin’ tha hook & I’m not into tha singin’ in tha background, once again; rappin’ just a regular voice, too… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & I’m diggin’ tha aggressive perspective in your voice; at least that’s a plus. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & this dude from tha hook aight; can’t seem ta have too much interest but they have good aggression, at tymes. Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here & this dude sounds nice & southern with their voice; good rhymes & a good way to rap on this sad beat. My Rating: 2.9

19. Otis Commercial
>>> A random call, dedicated ta puttin’ “Otis” in tha bitch, “biiiiitch,” lol? My Rating: N/A

20. Interlude
>>> Of course, this album couldn’t go an interlude without singin’! It’s catchy with tha “look in my eyes” shit but just sounds too depressin’, beat-wise. I mean, it sounds like tha singer, from your perspective, wants to really fuck. However, it just doesn’t seem glorious when tha production sounds sad… My Rating: N/A

21. “They Want My Money” feat. Mac & Mia X
Producer: XL
>>> Beat sounds like a nice, southern, bounce-soundin’ beat (without tha “Triggaman” sounds); not bad & tha singin’ on tha hook ain’t too bad, neither… Um, Mac, that’s you singin’? Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds like an okay/good verse from you; you focused fa dick-slangin’, basically… Keepin’ this thang movin’ wit Mia on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with some good energy; not bad fa a contribution, overall… My Rating: 3.5

22. “Thug In Yo Life” feat. Krazy & Suga Bear
Producer: Suga Bear
>>> An okay beat with some catchy sounds, at tymes… Ahh! R&B singin’ on tha hook, here; too soft fa me ta enjoy! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & yeah, not really inta this soft-soundin’ C, C… At least there’s some life with Krazy on tha 2nd verse, here; at least his voice = any type of aggression! My Rating: 2.7

23. “Down For My Ns” feat. Snoop Dogg & Magic
Producer: Carlos Stephens & XL
Can’t believe I’m finally reviewin’ this one… I remember in 2000, when Hot 97 would always have this as an instrumental to talk on, all tha tyme…! Anyway, luv how this, one of tha hardest tracks of 2000, comes after a bunch of soft-soundin’ tracks! As far as tha review, tha hook & beat goes too hard with tha way it hypes up anybody! With you on tha 1st verse, you got tha focus & energy, here, thanx ta Big Los & XL helpin’ you out with tha energetic production! Hearin’ Magic on tha 2nd verse & he got tha energy on lock; too-too top-notch!! Keepin’ it movin’ wit Snoop on tha 3rd verse, here, feelin’ tha energy, too; glad y’all created such an anthem, here! Goes good with a DMX catalog! My Current Rating: 4.8

24. “Street Thug” feat. New-9 & Magic
Producer: XL
>>> Beat sounds aight, here; a lil’ dry but tha hi-hats seem to be takin’ over more… Quiet-soundin’ 1st verse with how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse? Decent, basically… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from New-9 of tha Prime Suspects & it’s soundin’ like a betta verse; feelin’ his gangsta-soundin’ shit, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit Magic on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit aggression & energy ta represent tha streetz, here; gotta fucks wit it! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: I seemed more disappointed in this album; expected more energy & less slower/singin’ vibes…
