Review #1,945: A.u. "iSpit (The Mixtape)"

Reviewed on 7.30.2020 (Review #1,945)

Let’s keep this goin’: A.u. iSpit (The Mixtape) iz my next review, from last year, released on Never Basic Association. Start Time: 6:39 PM | End Time: 7:19 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2020 Review (Review #1,945) reviewed on 7.30.2020 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Bars 2”
>>> Not tha kinda beat I’d wanna hear, when it comes ta tha quality rap I’d wanna hear. Let’s leave tha lyrical shit behind & just spit tha lyrical shit on dem BR beatz! With that bein’ said, tha rhymes cool, here, just not tha beat chosen fa this one… My Rating: 3.2

02. “2:22 AM” feat. Yung Marv & GhostWryter
>>> An okay hook; wasn’t sure what it was about, tho, with tha “whatcha want […] whatcha need…” You’re on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit some good rhymes, even tho tha beat only ehh/aight… Marv tearin’ shit up on tha 2nd verse, here; lots of continuous shit he be spittin’! Definitely a thumbs up; great feature! Got tha GhostWryter on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some nice BR shit, as far as tha voice/flow goes; “no cap!” My Rating: 3.8

03. “137”
>>> Generic beat choice, here, wit a quiet vibe… A, you got good, consistent rhymes, here; all luv, from tha shit you shmokin’ ta what ya life be like, in BR…! My Rating: 4.2

04. “Never Basic” feat. Yung Marv
>>> Wasn’t sure what ta expect wit this “basic”-soundin’ beat choice. I do like that you luv gettin’ fucked up, tho, so I’ll give you that props, fa tha hook. A slower-soundin’ Marv on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit some good shit fa tha bed, I guess? Tha 2nd verse sounds nice from you, here, with tha shit you spittin’; good job… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Bars 3”
>>> Of all beats, “Oochie Wally” from tha start of ’01? Random…; we went from generic-soundin’ shit to throwback shit… Hearin’ tha verse & tha “bars” sound good, as you keep tha consistency up. So glad you rap on original BR beats, now; that’s why, you got this shit on lock…! My Rating: 3.5

06. “No Peace”
>>> Hook str8; sad that we live in a peaceless world, smh… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it str8; not much ta say but keep tha lyrics up… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it str8, too, as you keep it goin’… Don’t think your “present life feel like failure;” we call that jail & bein’ broke, a rock-bottom experience I experienced last year. Now, tha success iz regeneratin’…! My Rating: 3.6

07. “Optimistic” feat. GhostWryter
>>> Typically-picked sample/hook, it seems like, here; beat aight, too. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from GhostWryter & I thought it was you, fa a sec.? It sounds like he has happy energy, here. Got you on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit str8 rhymes; it iz what it iz, I guess? My Rating: 3.1

08. “Bars 4”
>>> Transitioned ta ’04 wit Flip; let’s see how you handle “Game Over”… Sounds okay; nice rhymes, tho I expected you ta be more hyped-up? My Rating: 3.3

½time: A decent, jacked-beat release, here…; only a 3.6 for tha ½time rating, so far. Let’s see how you handle tha rest of it wit your great energy…

09. “Fucked Up”
Producer: Mouse
>>> A Mouse beat? Don’t recognize this one, fa some reason…? Either way, tha hook & beginning sounds like what you brought to “2 Back”’s intro & hook; good shit. Tha 1st verse sounds good; I feel what you bringin’, here. There’s no dry reviewin’ goin’ on, here; you got dis, here…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it cool wit how you keepin’ tha 225 vibe goin’; luv tha “loud weed, like a section fulla trombones!” I like tha “Gee Money” part, where you paid tribute ta him & mixed it wit Young Wee-zo & Dutch’s “Pills”, where you said, “You know, dumb!” My Rating: 4.3

10. “Rich Nigga” (Yung Marv feat. A.u.)
Producer: Guss
>>> Back to tha northeast beats (oh, I can’t wait ta move away from tha northeast!)… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds like a good autobiography from you, here… Got Marv on tha 2nd verse & he aight, here; just sounds too boring with tha vibe, tho. Like, northeast shit? Just reminds me of, like, when my Louisiana connection started in ’07 & I was like, “Ooh, Louisiana!” Now, it’s “Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge!!” Hearin’ tha ending & was that “Guss on tha keys…,” on tha end? Did he produce this & I mistook it as a northeast vibe? I’ono but this just came outta me… My Rating: 2.9

11. “HeartlessChallenge”
>>> Likin’ how this starts wit you on tha 1st verse, here; keep tha fucked-up, euphoric vibes alive! Decent rhymes/verse, overall; you know what it iz wit dis cool shit… Damn, this ended kinda fast; I’ono why I expected more… My Rating: 3.9

12. “Passenger” feat. Zae Zūs
>>> Not anticipatin’ tha voice effect, on tha hook… A wack-soundin’ hook, tho good lyrics about gettin’ “high.” Let’s see what we got wit tha 1st verse from you, here… Sounds like an okay verse; a lil’ dry on tha energy, here…; I give ya props. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds okay/generic from this Zae dude, here; an okay collab, verse-wise? My Rating: 2.1

13. “Count It Up” (King feat. A.u. & Dooda)
>>> Can’t tell tha gender of tha person on tha hook/beginning? “Yo bitch ain’t bad…;” aight, it’s a dude. I’ono why I thought dude was a chick; just sounds like it, just sayin’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t as female as I thought. Still, all this “Count It Up” shit sound like it not fa me; this all err-body care about. It’s like, err-body don’t have better/different/diverse lives from this & accidental kids, at a young age? Either way, A.u. on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit decent shit, here… Tha dude on tha 3rd verse ehh; coulda been betta on a Baton Rouge-soundin’ track, rather than a typical-soundin’ track about money? My Rating: 1.3

14. “Max B Wave” (Zae Zūs feat. A.u.)
>>> Sounds okay, on tha intro & beat start, here…; still, nothin’ but a “money” focus? Like, I have new music comin’ & it’s not focused on tha “money;” it’s focused on bein’ in tha moment. You use tha “money” to invest in tha project & just put out quality for tha media…! Either way, an okay 1st verse from this Zae dude; nothin’ special, tho… Got you on tha 2nd verse, here, feelin’ how you fulla dem “tabs” & shit; “you know it!” Lol @ how you say, “Between dem legs, I’m tastin’;” just came out randomly, lol… Also, props on “hot-boxin’ in tha car;” you know what it iz…! My Rating: 2.4

15. “Ventilation”
Producer: Guss
>>> Sounds like a garbage beat; I don’t dig these samples in tha beats, as of when I first got robbed. It’s like, dude who previously robbed me (and paid me back almost seven years later) had music like dis & tried to ‘disguise’ tha ‘different’ side of BR. Why would I even show luv ta somethin’ like dat, especially now that it’s 2020?! Either way, your rhymes are cool, tho; I give them props. I like that “therapy in my chest,” when it comes to tha “herb;” you know what it iz! Ooh, that was a “Guss Make My Beats” beat tag, toward tha end… Guess I was right about tha other track? Luv Guss but like I said, in my honest opinion, I can’t go for tha softly-produced shit… My Rating: 2.6

16. “Where The Bud At” (Zae Zūs feat. A.u. & Dre Rich)
>>> Sounds like a dry beat ta end thangz off, here… Not really sayin’ that it’s ironic for tha beat ta be dry, wit a title wit “bud” in it. Either way, Zae on tha 1st verse & it a lil’ calm; dead energy? Tha hook sounds like an interlude; good ta have a shmoke break to? Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse & it sounds good wit how you continuously luv tha “bud!” Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & this Dre dude sound aight; sounds like some good lyrics, tho a dry flow… My Rating: 3.0

Overall: Turned out ta be average fa me, here, tho closer to tha below-average tip, due to tha jacked beats. Either way, I know you betta wit tha music now but I was just givin’ you my review on this one, right here, like I promised…

Review #1,944: A.u. & RareForm "Death 2 soundclick.com"

Reviewed on 7.30.2020 (Review #1,944)

As tha month’s near tha end, I’m gettin’ these reviewz outta tha way… Here comes A.u. & RareForm Death 2 soundclick.com, released in 2015 on Never Basic Association. Start Time: 2:32 PM | End Time: 3:35 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Damn!!!”
>>> Lol @ how A.u. kicks it off wit tha “lighter” & deeper voice. Lol, feelin’ tha flow on tha 1st verse, here; sounds like A.u. got buku energy… Oh wait, that’s not A.u.; that’s RareForm. Lol, are tha two of y’all related? Almost sounded tha same, just a lil’ deeper on tha voice… A.u. comes in 2nd & he sound cool wit what he spittin’. Fa this bein’ SoundClick-based, I think tha both of y’all do a great job, here, just off this 1st track. Not even a hook & y’all got tha rhymes on lock, here; good shit! “Maple syrup kush, it taste like honey;” fuckin’ right! Can I shmoke some, when we link? My Rating: 4.2

02. “MJ”
>>> Almost thought it had ta do wit “Michael” Jackson, fa a second; glad it’s Jordan, tho, as we ballin’! Hook sound cool; I feel what y’all got, whether it a generic, online beat or not…! Hearin’ A.u. on tha 1st verse & I’m feelin’ tha shit he bringin’ to da table; definitely nice! Got RareForm on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good shit, here. Though barely any interest in this generic beat, I give y’all props fa spittin’ some cool rhymes, in my opinion… I just don’t fuck wit tha “money long” shit, as you know that shit’s trouble, in real life… My Rating: 3.6

03. “Riding Around”
>>> Not anticipatin’ a female in tha beginning/on tha hook, tho I’m diggin’ her “boom-boom-boom” part, in tha hook… Likin’ tha 1st verse; feelin’ this rap-sing vibe, as it shows a catchy side to what y’all got. Like tha part about tha good weed makin’ y’all “choke;” you know what it iz! Gotta luv A.u. on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit a lotta energy & luvin’ this rap shit! Definitely what’s up; wanna be in an A.u. life, fa a day! Too many features, tho? Just sounds like RareForm & A.u on tha verses & tha chick on tha hook, rather than all tha names on tha feature… My Rating: 4.3

04. “I Like It”
>>> Beat doesn’t really have much ta offer & tha 1st verse from RareForm aight, here… Not really a hook, here; just braggin’ about how much RareForm “luv tha weed.” That’s a good brag but song-wise/hook-wise, not really worth anythang? Got A.u. on tha 2nd verse, as he “feelin’ good, like ‘fasho’;” lol? I like dat… Tha rest of tha A.u. verse cool; not much ta really say ‘bout this, tho… My Rating: 3.5

05. “Act Uh Ass”
>>> Anotha generic beat; sounds like an okay hook, tho nothin’ special… Hearin’ RareForm on tha 1st verse, from tha hook & it aight, basically… Got A.u. on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit great energy & good shit, here; definitely nice…! A 3rd verse, here? RareForm comin’ through wit a calmer amount of energy than A.u. comin’ wit it…; decent/cool, as I like it betta than tha 1st verse. My Rating: 3.4

06. “My Zone”
>>> Not feelin’ tha shitty female voice, on tha hook; don’t need tha effects in tha voice… Hearin’ A.u. on tha 1st verse & it ehh/aight; not feelin’ tha voice effect ta be cool, toward tha end of tha verse… Whether y’all wanna be “in [y’all] zone, [y’all] zone, [y’all] zone…,” it can be done betta. I know A.u. knows what “betta” iz, in 2020, as his current shit on point/hot original productions from BR! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from RareForm & it aight; nothin’ ta brag about, tho… My Rating: 2.2

07. “Get Dis Money”
>>> Sounds awful on tha hook, wit tha generic beat & annoying voice effect. My laptop convertin’ a file & I can’t skim through, so I just gon have ta deal wit this… A.u. on tha 1st verse; feelin’ tha energy, so I’ll give him props. RareForm on tha 2nd verse & it ain’t bad wit what he comin’ through wit; it’s acceptable… My Rating: 1.2

08. “Hold Up” (A.u.)
>>> Kickin’ it off wit A.u. on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some fun rhymes; good shit… Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; came outta nowhere, as it’s mainly just a “transition hook,” I should call it? Meaning, because this track’s called “Hold Up”, tha hook sounds like a short transition to tha next verse, without a hook, if you get my steez… Hearin’ more from A.u. on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit rhymes, rhymes, rhymes… Even more A.u. on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through, just tellin’ it like it iz… Even mo A.u. on tha 4th verse, here, keepin’ it goin’, goin’, goin’… Lol, a 5th verse? Keep it goin’, I guess…? A 6th verse from A.u., here; diggin’ tha “Polo…boxers” part, as those two words were in two separate lines. Smh @ how A.u. ended it with, “I’m done wit this bitch;” I felt like I was gonna hear a 29th verse or somethin’, lol. My Rating: 4.3

09. “Never Land”
>>> A.u. on tha hook, soundin’ aight… Once tha beat got quiet & tha voice effect came in, I don’t even wanna think of feedback… Tha 1st verse sounds gay wit tha voice effect; nothin’ ta comment, here… Damn, A.u., you ain’t gotta hit us wit tha gay auto-tune, too, on tha 2nd verse; ouch…! My Rating: 1.0

½time: At times, this sounds okay for an album wit all online beats. However, it turns ta shit when tha auto-tune & generic vibes of tha mainstream strike… With that bein’ said, we’re only at a 3.1 for tha ½time rating, so far…

10. “Knob Broke”
>>> Sounds like a silly/cool title, which tha hook str8; tha beat ehh, tho… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from RareForm & it str8; nothin’ special, tho… A.u. on tha 2nd verse, here, as I’m feelin’ tha energy. As far as tha lyrics, a lil’ random & who knows what brought him ta this scenery, lol… My Rating: 3.0

11. “Late Night”
>>> Annoying voice, on tha hook; almost wanna skip… Hearin’ A.u. on tha 1st verse & it aight; I give him props fa his energy, at least… Fuck tha rest of this; not interested in tha annoying vibes… My Rating: 1.1

12. “Keep It 100it”
>>> Likin’ tha “Return Of The Mack” sample, slowed & distorted in tha background, on tha intro… Hearin’ A.u. on tha 1st verse & it str8; keep it goin’… Got RareForm on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit okay rhymes; nothin’ much ta say… My Rating: 3.1

13. “Play Maker”
>>> Like how A.u. was feelin’ himself wit tha “blunt lit” catchphrase, five years ago; keep it “lit!” Hearin’ tha hook from A.u. & it cool; I give it props… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from RareForm & it str8; just rappin’, I guess? “HAF: High As Fuck;” nice! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from A.u. & it sounds nice; don’t thank pricing should be affect by your “kids growin’ up,” in my opinion. It all comes with buildin’ your empire/status…! My Rating: 3.2

14. “Amped, Geeked” (RareForm)
>>> Sounds like an energetic hook, tho tha beat & vibe of this track ain’t mean nothin’ ta me… Hearin’ RareForm on tha 1st verse & it okay; nothin’ special… A RareForm solo, here, on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good shit ta feel fucked up on… Other than that, just generic shit, tho… My Rating: 2.4

15. “Quicker”
>>> Sounds like a randomly-inserted hook; wack… A.u. on tha 1st verse, comin’ through, feelin’ tha energy from tha “*Sniff*,” lol. Lol, “Tell me how ta spell ‘sleep’;” I feel dat! Like, what iz “sleep?” Got RareForm on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit aight shit, here; just rappin’, ya know…? My Rating: 1.3

16. “Trill” (RareForm)
>>> Likin’ tha Bun B sample on tha hook, here; how will this generically-produced track turn out? Lol @ tha 1st verse, RareForm: “And, tha streetz show me luv ‘cause I keep my dick in ‘em;” uncontrollable “luv,” basically, lol? Likin’ tha drug shit, toward tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse; gotta have dem “tabs” & “barz!” More from RareForm on tha 2nd verse, here; not bad, as it’s just rhymes… My Rating: 2.5

17. “Watch Me Now” (A.u.)
>>> Likin’ tha energy, A.u., despite tha okay beat & hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from A & it cool wit his energy; likin’ tha “Johnnie Domino” shout-out… Tha rest of this ain’t bad; just not diggin’ tha generic sound… My Rating: 3.3

18. “I Swear”
>>> Skippin’ tha hook; sounds like garbage… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from A.u. & it cool, as always… Tha 2nd verse from RareForm’s just ehh; this shit don’t need no feedback… My Rating: 1.7

Overall: First off, with tha way this shit’s labeled, it was all confusing with tha features & online-beat producers listed. After listenin’ ta this whole release, I realized it’s just A.u. & RareForm, all along… I thought I was gon be able ta appreciate A.u.’s presence but all tha continuous, generic beats from tha Internet were gettin’ boring fast. Also, using tha auto-tune wasn’t cool… I have anotha review fa A.u. comin’ up, afta I nap (yes, I don’t like “sleep” but use it ta transition my mood/tha day)…

01. SBE Chaos “Sky Cry”

>>> Tha beat intro made me think this was a wack-soundin’ song fa tha ladies or somethin’… As tha 1st verse rolls in, it turns into a street-soundin’ track. Either way, due to my brother passin’ & when my mom’s depressed, I try ta avoid sad songs. However, tha rhymes are dope, here; I’m diggin’ tha rhymes… My Rating: 3.2

02. Dolla Bill Da Last Man “Mama Told Me”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ beat fa tha BR streetz, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Dolla, here & it good wit a strategy. Tha hook sounds catchy wit tha singin’; I’ll give it some props. This ain’t really shit I’d have a passion for, except ta give some props; that’s how I feel… Wit that bein’ said, tha 2nd verse keeps tha mission of tha strategic advice goin’… My Rating: 3.4

03. Murk Trapsoul “Ithemba”
>>> I’m not wantin’ ta sit here & hear a gay-soundin’ auto-tune voice. *Skips* My Rating: 1.0

04. Bezoe Newkirk “How”
>>> Beat sounds like your average Future, Rich The Kid, etc. bullshit. Scrollin’ through this & after 2:00 or so, it literally sounds like non-stop mumblin’; wtf? My Rating: 1.0

05. BlackSheep “Cruise”
>>> I like how tha hook iz based off of cruisin’ “tha old Baton Rouge” but it’s too soft fa me, between tha beat & hook. I’ono, can’t really get inta this… My Rating: 1.9

06. Global Gang Choppa “Icy”
>>> Beat ain’t no Baton Rouge/Louisiana production, so I gon feel bored, here… Don’t really get what’s goin’ on, here, except tha hook; at least it’s an “Icy” anthem, I guess? My Rating: 2.1

07. TeezyAF “Dope Flow”
>>> Generic beat/“flow,” here, tho I’m not feelin’ dude’s voice… My Rating: 1.1

08. GSG Babyloc “Warzone”
>>> Sounds like a cool intro wit tha non-American sample goin’ on; how will this turn out? Ta me, this sounds like rappin’ but tha vocals are real quiet? Like, what happened to mixin’-and-masterin’? Even I do it betta & I don’t do it that often…! Too bad tha 2nd verse killed my vibe wit this; not toleratin’ gay voices…! Was gonna rate it a generous 4.0 & expect it ta top tha rankings list but that ain’t happenin’, now… My Rating: 2.5

09. ItsCutta “Move Yo Body”
Usually, there’s an apostrophe in “Its”, here, but since this looks like a username, I’ll accept this… >>> Tha intro faded in & tha gay vocals came in; shit! *Skips after 0:08!* My Rating: 1.0

10. Jackboi Nino “Try Me”
>>> Sounds like somethin’ fa tha streetz or somethin’. Doesn’t really sound like Baton Rouge, tho; sounds like somethin’ I’d review in 2008 from New Orleans & be like, “Wow, Louisiana.” Now, it’s 2020 & I’m all about Baton Rouge rap, tho, since err-body wanna go tha generic, same route, smh…! Basically, this iz just okay; just rappin’, basically… My Rating: 2.2

11. Hakeem “Hit A Lick”
>>> Sounds like a white dude, despite his black name? Literally, this sounds like somethin’ randomly uploaded from tha Internet or somethin’. Like, why am I reviewin’ this? My Rating: 1.0

12. PlayBoy Ozzie “Gullyville”
>>> Long intro & then, a gay-soundin’ voice came in about “shmokin’?” Doesn’t fit; not for me, even tho I luv weed…! My Rating: 1.0

½time: Seriously, wtf? A 1.8-rated release, so far? Absolutely no Baton Rouge vibes, here!

13. Mac Dizzle “He Say, She Say”
>>> Sounds like what woulda been some undaground Music Choice Rap shit from ’07 or somethin’. Tha hook sounds catchy with when tha title repeats; I’ll give that some props. Hearin’ tha verse & yeah, this dude sound like he wanna be mainstream or somethin’… My Rating: 2.7

14. SBE Chaos “Tired”

Err-body gettin’ anotha chance, here? >>> Don’t even have patience fa this NBA YoungBoy-type beat/vibe… Either way, no interest, here; I thought Gates laid it down fa y’all? “I don’t get TIRED?!” My Rating: 1.0

15. Dolla Bill Da Last Man “Be Cool”
>>> I let it play & I was like, “Wow, a normal voice/dude?” It’s Dolla… Beat ain’t too bad, here & tha 1st verse aight; I give it props. Hearin’ tha hook & did Dolla copy Ca$h Out, on tha hook? Literally sounds like his adlibs, when Dolla says, “‘Cause you trippin’” (e.g., “Ah, she workin’…she twerkin’…). Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it ain’t bad, as well; just lettin’ this one ride, I guess? My Rating: 3.3

16. Murk Trapsoul “Makushona Illanga (Remix)”
>>> *Skips* My Rating: 1.0

17. Bezoe Newkirk “Pablo”
>>> I’m debating on just automatically skippin’ this. Since my charge, I can’t fuck wit Puerto Rican vibes & shit like that. Once dude said, “30 bands fa a show,” or whateva, I just skipped it; no way! My Rating: 1.0

18. BlackSheep “Love By You”
>>> I’ono, here… Once again, this sounds like that outdated rap I’d hear, back in tha day & be like, “Ooh, Louisiana.” Meanwhile, it’s 2020 & my expectations for rap are like, “Ooh, Baton Rouge!” When he says, “I will swallow this xan…,” I picture this bein’ on Music Choice Emo Trap, with its drug vibe? My Rating: 2.3

19. Global Gang Choppa “Thinking ‘Bout A Place”
>>> Doubt I’d fuck wit a soul sample, in tha beginning… Hearin’ tha verse & it sounds like west coast music? Like, I wouldn’t’ve stopped my busy-ass schedule ta review west coast music. I literally only want that quality BR music; JIGG, PEOPLE, JIGG!!! With that bein’ said, this just sounds like blah-blah-blah rap; can’t really say much… My Rating: 1.4

20. TeezyAF “Paper”

>>> I’m not even gonna bother; tha title has ta do wit money!! Gay-soundin’ vocals & generic-soundin’ Future shit…! *Skips* My Rating: 1.0

21. Hakeem feat. Dolla Bill “World So Crazy”
No title? >>> Oh jeez, tha white-soundin’ dude wit Dolla Bill? Why? Even Dolla got some weird-soundin’ vocals, too? Why? Oh wait, did I catch a title? How about “World So Crazy”? My Rating: 1.0

22. GSG Babyloc “New Shit”
>>> Vocals are so quiet; what tha…? I’m not even gonna bother with tha generic, non-Baton Rouge beat!! *Skips* My Rating: 1.0

23. ItsCutta “Wet”
>>> Gay voice intro! *Skips at 0:14!* Ouch, this lasted 14 seconds?! Too long!! My Rating: 1.0

24. PlayBoy Ozzie “One Time”
>>> An okay beat & an okay hook; feelin’ tha repetitive “do it for tha one time, do it for tha one time, do it for tha one time, right nah” part… I’ono but once dude said, “TikTok” ta kick tha 1st verse off, I literally just wanted ta skip this. However, I’m hangin’ on; don’t know why… Aight, I ended it when I heard, “We stackin’ dat paypa” twice… My Rating: 1.0

25. Mac Dizzle “Ride”
>>> This ain’t up my alley; why all this attempted singin’? People need ta quit mixin’ it wit rap—undaground rap at that!! My Rating: 1.1

Overall: What was tha point of this review? I didn’t know what I was gettin’ myself into, with all this non-Baton Rouge shit… Thank God I ain’t spend a penny on this but I wasted a whole 25 minutes reviewin’ this…

Review #1,942: Da Baton Rouge Boyz "The SXSW Mixtape (Hosted by DJ Tremon)"

Reviewed on 7.29.2020 (Review #1,942)

As tha month of July continues ta end, I continue ta keep it movin’ wit everythang I’m tryna accomplish. Here comes my next review: Da Baton Rouge Boyz The SXSW Mixtape (Hosted by DJ Tremon), released in 2017 on Flamed-Up Records & Last Man Production. Da Baton Rouge Boyz consist of Big Flame Thrower & Dolla Bill Da Last Man; let’s get it! Shout out ta Last Man fa holdin’ tha beats down…! Start Time: 12:33 PM | End Time: 1:38 PM

© 2020 Review (Review #1,942) reviewed on 7.29.2020 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Aight”
>>> Sounds good wit Tremon in tha beginning, here… Tha hook got some cool sounds in it; simple & sounds like it’s a long, repetitive hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good wit Big Flame on tha rhymes… Dolla Bill sound good on tha 2nd verse, as well; not much ta say but I enjoy some of dis… Tha beat tha best thang on this track, tho it a lil’ slower for me to fully appreciate… My Rating: 3.7

02. “Where Dey At”
>>> Tha hook sounds nice wit Dolla Bill on it; all about lookin’ fa dem “big fine bitches!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Dolla & it sounds good wit how he wants these “bitches;” good shit. Likin’ how tha beat has constant clappin’, right b4 tha 1st verse ends; good shit, Dolla…! Got Flame on tha 2nd verse, here… A lil’ bit of a mix between tha undaground vibe & a mainstream vibe, when it comes ta how he comin’ wit these “bitches;” I digz it… My Rating: 4.0

03. “Jumpin’ Like A Ghost”
>>> Again, I’m diggin’ tha beats Dolla be bringin’ to tha tracks, here; good sounds! Tha hook pretty nice; diggin’ all this “jumpin’!” Hopefully, when all my charges clear, I gotta experience this “jumpin’” effect! Fa now, I gon enjoy y’all, here, wit tha “jumpin’” 1st verse; good shit! I’m diggin’ how Flame comin’ through on tha verse; all about tha “supa” powers! Likin’ how Dolla comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, too; definitely feelin’ tha energy y’all bringin’! Like, while I prepare fa my 3rd album, Autistic Stoner Rap, I can only get fulla dat weed so whomeva I collab wit, they gon have ta show me this “jumpin’” vibe, so I can compete, in tha future! I like how y’all goin’ back & forth, toward tha end; definitely nice energy! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Bend Ova” feat. Level
This gotta be, like, tha 3rd song I know that Level featured on wit a title like dis (tha other two were Lil’ Cali’s, I believe). >>> As far as how this sounds, it’s definitely dope; luv tha repetitive “bend ova” part, on tha hook! Great job, Level; you know what it iz! Got Level on tha 1st verse & he got shit on lock. I feel a lil’ insecure about how his voice sounds a lil’ off, due to an attempt voice effect, smh. Either way, definitely dope; we’ll see if it takes tha crown later, on tha rankings…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse wit Dolla & it sounds dope; likin’ how y’all got tha clubz on lock wit dis one…! Got Flame on tha 3rd verse & he got shit poppin’, here; great contribution, as we “feel dat bone!” My Rating: 4.5

05. “College Drive….Fuck U” (Dolla Bill)
>>> I luv how Dolla sounds nice & high as fuck, in tha beginning, here; definitely nice! Makes me supa-hyped up fa my upcomin’ BR trip!! Long intro, tho; how excited should I get…? Afta :51, here comes tha 1st verse; sounds cool. I know what it iz wit tha “Waffle House,” as on my last BR trip, that was tha only food I ate, lol. Definitely feelin’ tha high vibes, here… Oh, lookin’ at tha title closer & yeah, that’s tha “Waffle House” I go to (on “College Drive”), lol…! Oh, tha track changed up, as 1:36 iz remaining on tha track… Likin’ this “fuck u…” part, on tha hook; sounds good. Your verse on tha “Fuck U” part of tha track sounds nice wit tha rhymes/high vibes. It sounds kinda slow but it cool fa me… I would say, if I had to combine tha two tracks’ ratings, it would prolly turn into… My Rating: 4.1

06. “I Be Working”
>>> Sounds a lil’ like a mainstream/non-Louisiana vibe, wit this slower beat ta rap on, fa tha streetz… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds cool; it’s str8… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Flame & it okay; might be a lil’ too generic fa me, tho. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty dope wit Flame talkin’ ‘bout dem pillz, in tha beginning of tha verse; definitely excitin’…! My Rating: 3.2

07. “Cancel Dat”
>>> I feel anticipated afta hearin’ Dolla say, “Say, bruh…;” beat sounds nice wit tha eerie intro, too…! I like how tha hook about cancelin’ a “bitch;” definitely an interestin’/hype-soundin’ hook…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Dolla & it sounds good; drop it like it’s hot, lol… Got mo comin’ from tha BR Boyz wit Flame on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit an okay set of rhymes; I give it props… My Rating: 4.2

08. “Pop It” (Big Flame Thrower)
>>> “You know I made tha beat…,” in tha background? Not a Last Man Production? Hmm… Beat sounds outdated or like it’s from tha late 2000’s, with how it sounds like them old Drumma Boy beatz… Kinda bleh/generic, as far as tha vibe/beat but it ain’t bad, so far… Might be a lil’ long but we’ll see how long I can stay interested… Overall, this kinda seems long but it’s not bad, overall; props fa keepin’ tha energy up, Flame…! My Rating: 3.5

½time: Sounds like this mainly a good lil’ tape, here; a 4.0 ½time rating, currently…! Let’s see if y’all can keep up da energy! Shout out ta Level fa tha best vibe, so far…!

09. “Bobb Ya Head”
>>> Sounds good wit tha Sam I Am sample in tha intro, here, as well as tha Last Man Production productions returnin’…! Tha hook sounds good; I digz tha vibez, of course… Dolla on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit consistent rhymes & a good club vibe, of course…! Got Flame on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through like a cool dude; gotta keep tha coolness up! Flame leadin’ fa tha ‘70s babies in they 40’s, so keep it up, just like Fatt Albert of tha Dirty Boyz! An outro in tha mist of over a minute left; hmm… Okay, we have anotha hook, toward tha end; good shit… My Rating: 4.2

10. “Huh Bruh” (Dolla Bill)
Always luv this saying… >>> Startin’ off nice & only gettin’ betta!! Luvin’ tha hook; always gotta do it “fa [yo] city!” Dat “225!!” Luv how dis a solo track; too bad I ain’t get ta connect witchu, in 2017, when this was released. This woulda had a good time wit me, as that was tha 1st year I was goin’ ta Louisiana…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good, as Dolla, you keep tha consistent vibe of tha 225 lyfe goin’…! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it’s pretty dope; I’m diggin’ what you bringin’, as alwayz…! Gonna be a close one between this & tha Level feature; we’ll see who wins…! My Rating: 4.5

11. “Work Out”
>>> Nice intro from Tremon, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty dope; continuous workin’ “out!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Dolla & it’s soundin’ good wit his Dog Da Cutthroata/Tech/Lil’ Cal vibe, as far as tha flow & vibe goes…! Hearin’ Flame on tha 2nd verse & I luv how he “energized up;” definitely tha way ta be! Hope he don’t age—neva age!! My Rating: 4.3

12. “Chew’d Out”
! >>> Almost wasn’t thankin’ it was an original production but it iz, of course, by tha one and only, DBDLM! Speakin’ of Dolla, here he iz, on tha 1st verse, comin’ through on this nicely-dropped beat… Tha hook sounds cool; all about bein’ “Chew’d Out!” That’s tha vibe ta have! Can’t wait till my chewin’ debut, one day…! Fa now, let’s keep it goin’ wit Flame on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit his pill contributions; definitely nice…! Keep droppin’ tha knowledge! Lol @ tha “empty stomach” warning, when it comes to dem tabz! As far as my tincture edibles & food edibles go, I rather have them “on an empty stomach,” due to I like when those effects hit, ya herad me? Gotta luv how Dolla comin’ through on tha 3rd verse, strictly in his “Chew’d Out” state of mind, ya heard me? Definitely nice! Title should be “Chew’d Out”, not “Chew’d Dat”, tho? My Rating: 4.5

13. “Big Booty Girls”
>>> Likin’ tha Tremon intro, once again… Wit this club vibe, this sounds less-exciting & more on tha mainstream/generic side, tho. Like, I can see some mainstream rapper droppin’ a wack song, on this beat that doesn’t sound like a Last Man track… Hearin’ tha hook & it str8; I give it props… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight from Flame, here; nothin’ ta say, here… Tha 2nd verse doesn’t really have much ta offer, as well; just a song fa tha wack mainstream rapper, here… My Rating: 3.1

14. “Dance Wit Me” (Dolla Bill)
>>> Likin’ tha undaground beat comin’ back, here…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight but Dolla takin’ tha Level risk wit tha sketched-out vocals… Speakin’ of vocals, it sounds like a scary-soundin’ hook; I’ono about tha singin’… I mean, it can be okay but for tha most part, this track’s soundin’ like it’s goin’ more toward tha scary route than an above-average route… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it aight, once again; still weirded-out wit tha vocals… My Rating: 1.7

15. “Good”
>>> Sounds like a hypnotizin’ hook/beat vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Dolla & it “Good,” I guess, lol? Sounds like an okay vibe fa tha ladies, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on from Flame, here & it’s ehh…; startin’ ta sound boring fa me… My Rating: 3.0

16. “Make You Love Me Again” feat. Federro
>>> As soon as I seen tha feature, I instantly thought of Vybe beats & online beats from, like, tha late 2000’s/early 2010’s. With that bein’ said, this hook/slow vibe ain’t really fa me. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Flame & it ehh…; no comment, basically. Tha rest of this doesn’t need any feedback; next…! My Rating: 1.3

17. “Trust Me” feat. Ar’Jay, Lil’ Cal & Cutta
>>> I don’t really fuck wit tha Ar’Jay singin’ hooks; just not me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Dolla & it just seems like a sappy version of tha club bangaz, on this tape… Tha 2nd verse sound str8, tho not really on this beat; nice job, Cal… Tha rest of this just drags out; too long of a slow track, especially durin’ these dayz… I sound like a hater wit this one but it just doesn’t fit in my circle… My Rating: 1.1

Overall: It seemed like this was a dope tape, tho some of tha sappy/odd-soundin’ tracks threw tha rating off, down to an average-rated tape rating. Either way, at least there was quite tha quality on this one…! Keep up tha great work, y’all!
