Review #1,129: J Fletcha "A Bayou Classic"

Reviewed on 3.03.2012 (Review #1,129)

Anotha Bayou Boi Entertainment project’s up next: J Fletcha A Bayou Classic; let’s hear it… Start Time: 11:13 AM | End Time: 11:37 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Cigar Music” Feat. Grind
Grind production, too. >>> Sounds like a lil’ bit of samplin’ in tha beginning of tha beat (almost like Jade’s “Don’t Walk Away” from tha ‘90s). Damn, another random beat tag (Grind, this time); no need for every producer to have a beat tag… As for this song, this sounds like some good music for tha hot weather. Nice job wit tha hook, too. My Rating: 4.2

02. “I Know It”
>>> Great beat start from Dot Com, but damn, tha beat tag again? You sound good wit how you’re comin’ through on tha mic, here; nice job wit this… Tha rhymes are pretty nice, too; everything’s comin’ inta place, here. My Rating: 4.4

03. “Quickie” Feat. D.O.T.
>>> Damn, another Dot Com beat tag! Beginning sounds anticipatin’, but too much mainstream “tight” sample shit goin’ on… Rhymes are real nice, here; lots of sexual shit, outta nowhere, that I’m really feelin’… My Rating: 4.3

04. “Bananas”
Dot Com on tha beat, here. >>> Whateva happened to tha dayz where there were no ta—ahh, I just heard a tag!! I was talkin’ ‘bout tha beginning tag, too; oh, 2004ish dayz, where are you? Anyway, good shit, here; feelin’ tha whole “bananas” shit, as well as these consistent rhymes. My Rating: 4.4

05. “Just Fletcha”
A Jon Boi beat, so maybe, there won’t be a tag…, I hope! >>> A lil’ catchy wit tha beat start, but damn, a “Bayou Boi Ent.” tag; damn you, Rick Ross, and your “Maybach Music” shit! :confused Once again, more consistent shit from you, Fletch; thumbs up fa tha rhymes, once again. My Rating: 4.2

06. “In The Mirror” Feat. Jewell
Dot Com doin’ tha track, again. >>> For a female start, I’m actually likin’ this, a whole lot; just gettin’ betta! No beat tag, no less; no wonder its tightness! Great voice from tha Jewell lady, as well as tha hot beat goin’ on, here… As for your rhymes, they fit nicely on this beat; good job! My Rating: 4.3

07. “Her Persuasion” Feat. Dot Com
D-Rocc beat; looks like an old title? I cleaned my iTunes library out, so I can’t tell, but if it’s new or not, good job from y’all. My Rating: 4.3

08. “Iz U Fareal” Feat. ChaYsuh & Grind
Anotha Grind beat, here. >>> Sounds okay; more on tha decent level from tha previous shit on here. Of course, sounds a lil’ betta once ChaYsuh steps up to tha mic… My Rating: 4.1

09. “I’m Nice”
Dot Com beat. >>> *Rolls eyes at tha first few seconds* A “smoothie” start? I’m likin’ this; how “nice” you are on tha mic, wit tha rhymes, lol. My Rating: 4.2

½time: Lots of consistency, here; can’t complain wit a 4.3 CD rating, currently!!!

10. “Gentlemen’s Club” Feat. Gutta Boy
A Dot Com beat, again; I believe there’s an apostrophe in tha title. >>> Beat tag; ugh… However, it must be a sign for a nice-soundin’ beat? Good job wit tha beat, once again; good job wit tha rhymes, too, Fletch. Not sure who exactly this Gutta Boy dude iz, but it sounds like Boosie… My Rating: 4.0

11. “Heels” Feat. Queen Hillary
Anotha Dot Com track, here; let’s see how you do wit tha queen… >>> Almost sounds familiar, but I don’t believe I’ve seen this title, before… Thumbs up for repeatin’ tha title; makes this joint sound catchy. Your rhymes and flow iz pretty catchy, here; “cinnabon,” lol! Definitely a nice job from you, Fletch! Gotta give props ta tha queen fa make this joint sound even more yummy, lol! My Rating: 4.4

12. “I Did A Lot”
“A lot” iz not a compound word, but Dot Com’s on tha beat, again. >>> Damn, anotha beat tag? Why so many times? We can see tha credits, on tha back cover! Either way, a nice vibe, here; feelin’ how Dot Com attracts tha listener wit this vibe… I like your rhymes, here, Fletch; feelin’ how you have “a lot” goin’ on. My Rating: 4.3

13. “Special Occasion” Feat. Jewell
A lil’ mix-up wit tha title; “ocassion”’s wit two “C”s and one “S”. >>> *Rolls eyes at tha beat tag, again* For a smooth-soundin’ joint, this ain’t that bad; I like how Jewell sounds, once again. Damn, can we think of Summer any quicker than by hearin’ this, lol? My Rating: 3.9

14. “Frozen” Feat. Iceman
Beat Champ beat, this time; betta not be a beat tag! >>> An okay star—ahh, a beat tag!!! Why iz it always a kid?! No one’ll eva come outta Baton Rouge, bein’ a virgin. Y’all talk about bein’ ‘different’ by not makin’ pill music; what about bein’ ‘different’ by not havin’ control of bein’ a virgin? Anyway, an okay-soundin’ beat, here; nothin’ too special… As for tha rhymes, they’re aight; a lil’ on a typical subject, here, wit some of tha rhymes, especially on tha last verse. My Rating: 3.8

15. “Boyz Talkin’” Feat. T-Lynn
A Premeditated Soundz beat; what do we got, here? >>> Nice start wit tha repeatin’ of tha title; almost sounds like “Chunk Up The Deuce”’s beginning sound… Rhymes are nice, here; tha beat’s pretty kick-ass and consistent, too, since you can’t stop it. Ooh, a female by tha name of T-Lynn on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit a nice, female style wit her “true” feelings, lol. My Rating: 4.3

16. “Cold Feet”
Same producer, here. >>> Not really into a fade-in intro; I don’t get that…? This beat sounds a lil’ too soft/mainstream for me; rhymes are okay, but this ain’t 100% my style… My Rating: 3.1

17. “What Does It Do”
Jon Boi beat, here. >>> Oh no, beat tag, but it ain’t that bad. Then again, it’s a beat tag! Beat almost sounds like somethin’ Grind could’ve produced; nice sound, includin’ what you got goin’ on, here. Lol, was that a whistle? Catchy… My Rating: 4.2

18. “Legendary”
Endin’ it wit a Dot Com beat. Damn, tha cover says, “Prod by DotCom,” but it usually says, “Prod by DotCom Beatz;” inconsistent? >>> A lil’ softer, but tha tight sounds are in tha background… Rhymes are aight, but this iz a lil’ boring fa a song, overall; I guess it qualifies for an ending song, though. My Rating: 3.6

Overall: Real consistent CD, for tha most part; nice job…

Review #794: Lil' Yungin "Lil' Yungin"

Reviewed on 12.29.2010 (Review #794)

Keepin’ thangz movin’, I have my 5th review for today: It’s a female by tha name of Lil’ Yungin. Her name pops in my head from Beat Flippa’s 2008 “Street Certified” CD. As special as dat was, this self-titled Lil’ Yungin CD then came, in tha same year. Special production on this CD so I’m definitely lookin’ forward ta hearin’ what’s on here!!! Start Time: 4:36 PM | End Time: 5:08 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Intro”
A lil’ bit of DJ B-Real helpin’ out tha intro here; let’s hear how it sounds! >>> Sounds good; hope ta hear from Beat Flippa soon! Glad you’re on his Southern Music Group! I like your “he say and she say” shit, like Hurricane Chris would say! You’re holdin’ down tha intro great; sounds good on this beat! I’ll consider it a song since you’re rhymin’ here and there! A lil’ phone call on tha end from Beat Flippa, too; good shit! My Rating: 4.2

02. “I’m Fresh”
Let’s hear this Beat Flippa-produced joint!! >>> ROFL, how childish on tha beat and hook’s melody but sounds hot ‘cause of tha Beat Flippa keys! I’ll accept this! You’re doin’ a nice job wit tha rappin’ here, too; feelin’ like a tomboy, lol? Nah, I’m only playin’. Only tha “red monkey jeans” made me say dat. My Rating: 3.8

03. “It’s My Night” Feat. Lil’ Josh
Lookin’ tight on tha collab here as well as tha Beat Flippa beat!! >>> Sounds good on tha intro; Beat Flippa holdin’ down these intros for you! This definitely iz somethin’ nice; feelin’ tha energy you bringin’ to tha track! I’m feelin’ what you bringin’ to tha table, here; all about holdin’ down a Beat Flippa beat!! LOL, Lil’ Josh comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, not feelin’ young, lol. He keepin’ dis bitch jumpin’ to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.2

04. “Toe 2 Toe” Feat. Bro-Bro
Shit yea, let’s hear dis! Speakin’ of Bro-Bro, one of Bro-Bro’s known producers iz on tha beat: Tyree Neal! >>> Sounds pretty nice in tha beginning once again! Sounds like a jam; thumbs up fa holdin’ tha ladies down! Sounds like some good rappin’ wit what you’re bringin’; not gay dancin’ but catchy on dis beat, in a Southern way! LOL, Bro-Bro on tha 2nd verse, ‘bout ta “chew da whole thang,” lol! Thumbs up ta him collaboratin’ wit you! My Rating: 4.1

05. “Deal Wit It” Feat. Lil’ Cali & Mugsy
What do we got here? Beat Flippa on tha beat and co-produced by Mugsy, too! >>> Wow, hot intro here! Yea, you’re doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook here; really feelin’ it!! You’re in charge, here; err-body stand up ta Lil’ Yungin’!! LOL, Lil’ Cali on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through on err-body’s CDs, lol! Definitely a good connection and you know Lil’ Cali’s got dis shit on lock fa you! I dunno if I eva heard Mugsy before but tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ good from him; good Southern Music Group fam!! My Rating: 4.4

06. “I Gotta Get It”
You know Beat Flippa on tha beat! >>> I rememba dis; sounds like a familiar intro. Yea, this was one of tha ending songs on dat “Street Certified” CD dat was aight. Good thing you’re handlin’ this shit to tha fullest, once again! My Current Rating: 3.9

07. “Do It Like Me” Feat. Lady Lox
Too bad it’s hard fa me ta see some of these features. But, Beat Flippa’s on tha beat again so you know what it iz! >>> Soundin’ real great on tha production once again! I like how you comin’ through on tha hook, strictly holdin’ it down! You have a lot of shit as far as attributes, huh, lol? Accordin’ to Beat Flippa’s CD, Lady Lox was tha feature; I’ll go wit dat. Y’all reppin’ pretty good here, ya dig? My Rating: 3.7

½time: Nice lil’ 4.0-rated CD here; feelin’ tha production to tha fullest!!

08. “Groove With You”
Produced by Beat Flippa & co-produced by Slick Note; let’s hear dis. >>> Sounds a lil’ different. Not bad for a song and tha hook ain’t too bad wit tha singin’. My Rating: 3.5

09. “In Tha Matrix”
LOL, how good’ll this be wit Tyree Neal on tha beat? >>> Weird dat it’s a fade-in intro. I dunno about tha “yuuugh” shit… This iz decent; I’m not too big about dancin’ songs. My Rating: 3.2

10. “I Like Dat” Feat. Max Minelli
Shit yea!! Max Minelli on tha feature and a full-produced Beat Flippa track!!! >>> Yea, dis sounds hot as hell on tha production!! Glad you have a connection ta get Max on tha feature! Tha hook’s definitely some good-soundin’ shit, ya heard me? You’re soundin’ good wit tha rappin’, “cruisin’” your way through! Max’s on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit dat tight shit, as always! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Get Loose” Feat. Tank Jones & N.I.P.
Looks like a tight collaboration wit, again, Beat Flippa on tha beat!! >>> Yea, feelin’ this beat sound; crazy shit!! Ooh, really likin’ how you bring tha energy on tha hook as well as Beat Flippa keepin’ tha beat alive!!! You’re doin’ a nice job wit your part, keepin’ tha club alive! Here’s Tank Jones on tha 2nd verse, doin’ his thang, as always! Glad you have some big dawgs on your tracks, regardless of what they rappin’ ‘bout. Good job, Tank Jones; you always do tha damn thang! LOL, N.I.P. comin’ through wit a near-soundin’ Boosie perspective, lol. I’m feelin’ his energy he bringin’! Although some of this shit may be a lil’ off tha wall, it’s definitely nice ta hear on tha track! My Rating: 4.4

12. “Wild Out (Remix)” Feat. Sam I Am
Uh oh, Sam I Am on tha feature wit Beat Flippa doin’ tha beat once again!! >>> Cool beat intro… Even though I’m not too crazy about tha dancin’, I like dis hook; lol @ tha hidden Sam I Am vocals on tha hook! Sounds like he ready ta unleash himself!  You’re doin’ a pretty-good job here… Glad you know how ta keep thangz on a non-boring level! LOL, Sam I Am doin’ his thang on tha 2nd verse, as always! LOL @ him; he keeps it so consistent! I don’t know anyone more consistent than him on any collaboration or song!!! My Rating: 4.3

13. “Missing You”
A beat from Beat Boy Chill, this time; let’s hear what it gon sound like… >>> A lil’ soft but nothin’ too upsettin’. A lil’ low wit how it sounds but keep tha rhymes comin’… Ugh, tha hook rips off Webbie’s “Missing You” song; I dunno about it bein’ a huge plus but it ain’t tha worst song in tha world. My Rating: 3.4

14. “2 Way” Feat. G Thang & Tyree Neal
I think I got tha list correct. Tyree Neal doin’ tha beat this time… >>> This ain’t too bad; sounds catchy on tha hook, although a lil’ Poppy. Tha rest of it aight but what’s wit tha clean lyrics? My Rating: 3.3

15. “Big Dog Walkin’” Feat. Kidd
What’s this for an ending song, produced by producer Gutta Boy? >>> Ooh, hot ending!! Tha hook’s definitely filled wit energy and consistency from you as well as tha production!! Sounds like you have “big dog” status on this song; good feelin’, huh? I thought Kidd was gonna be Young Kidd Kidd on tha 2nd verse but it’s a female. Pretty interestin’ and she sounds like a young, gangsta-livin’ chick, lol. More clean lyrics? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Pretty-good CD! I know you have tha production on lock; keep in touch wit err-body!
