Review #1,985: Da Fada "Anybody Cou' Die"

Reviewed on 6.04.2021 (Review #1,985)

As I climb up tha review ladder, I’m on my 1,985th review! This one iz for Houma’s Da Fada Anybody Cou’ Die, released in 2000 on Bottom Up Records! Start Tyme: 7:44 PM | End Tyme: 8:51 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
>>> An okay, quiet-soundin’ intro, here… My Rating: N/A

02. “Desperado” feat. Low-Down
Producer: Greg Dukes
Luv seein’ my big homie, Greg Dukes, on tha production!! >>> Hearin’ tha production & it sounds quiet but I luv hearin’ tha sounds ‘cause it sounds like that quiet, undaground shit. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you, Fada & it sounds cool fa a slow flow; also, nice hi-hat pattern, Dukes! Doesn’t sound like your typical, fast-soundin’ set of hi-hats… Good rhymes fa tha streetz but I feel like it’s such a long-ass verse! Like, with 4:59 on tha length, I have no idea when it’s gonna shift to Low-Down…! Like, I’ono, but I felt like this was just one big-ass verse; coulda been betta with a hook/transition, at least… Oh wait, at 3:29, finally, a hook! Well, was it? Just a quick title part & just jumped into an outro fulla whinin’ in tha background… My Rating: 3.1

03. “Anybody Cou’ Die” feat. B-Legit
Producer: StudioTone
>>> Feelin’ this eerie beat; definitely nice with how y’all comin’ through on tha hook. A random female chick singin’ a lil’ part? Interestin’ for such a short part… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it sounds good with your rhymes; your flow ain’t bad but your rhymes are betta, basically… Keepin’ this movin’ with you on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit mo shit; kinda reminds me of some West Coast-type shit, with how you flow & collab’d with B-Legit… Hearin’ B on tha 3rd verse & yeah, his West Coast flava adds a nice lil’ blend to your street content; nice job… My Rating: 3.7

04. “Forever Yours” feat. Low-Down
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> A lil’ slow fa me to really appreciate, here… Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse & it’s nice with tha rhymes you bringin’… Also, speakin’ of Low-Down on tha feature, his Tales From Da South release was my actual 1,000th review! Now, I’m only 15 away from 2,000, almost a decade later!! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s boring with how it sounds; sounds a lil’ cheesy & not really for me… Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 2nd verse & tha lyrics are good; I’m just not too crazy about this shit that sounds like an audio life story… Keepin’ this movin’ with Low-Down on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ consistent with tha rhymes. However, that dude vocalizin’ in tha background’s makin’ this sound too depressin’ fa me, at tymes. My Rating: 2.8

05. “Revenge Or Death” feat. Low-Down
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Catchy lil’ beat from Happy P, here; let’s see how it turns out in a song… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it sounds good with your consistent rhymes; glad this ain’t depressin’… Tha “more top-notch […] than Mexico got tacos” line was a dope lil’ part; interestin’ thinkin’ from tha south…! Damn, this iz soundin’ too long of a verse; why iz it over 2:00 in, right nah?! Finally, hearin’ tha hook as tha 3:00 mark’s about ta ‘proach & it’s a good lil’ hook; glad it finally came, tho! Low-Down comin’ through fa you & he does a nice job collaboratin’ with you. Sometymes, y’all two sound similar, so sometymes, I think that everythang seems too long. My Rating: 3.3

06. “Hoodlum” feat. Low-Down
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Sounds like a dope lil’ beat & how this beat continuously puts you in an undaground vibe, courtesy of that 985! Props fa what you’re wearin’, as well; gotta have tha right equips for tha streetz! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s soundin’ sappy with that singin’; just seems sad to be “caught up in tha hood…,” after hearin’ tha singin’. Anyway, keepin’ this movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with mo shit fa tha streetz. Sometymes, your flow on this one gives me that West Coast feel, again; wanted ta point that out. Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 3rd verse & I feel bored; just seems like each joint’s too long. My Rating: 3.0

07. “Bitch Nigga” feat. Mr. Price
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ hook fa those that be tha opps; good lil’ hook & not bad for tha beat, here… Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse & you keepin’ it movin’ fa tha streetz, here; props fa definin’ what a B.N. iz, continuously. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s you barely transitionin’ from tha hook to tha 2nd verse; sounds like everythang goes too much together with each other… Now, I’m hearin’ tha actual hook? Was that only one long-ass verse, then? I’m confused… Comin’ up on (what I think iz) tha 3rd verse, it’s Mr. Price, comin’ through with a slightly-more aggressive flow. Too bad their lyrics don’t match up to your street content but it’s still a decent/good addition, here. My Rating: 3.4

08. “Livin’ In Mechanicville”
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
I’ono about sittin’ here fa 5:53; how big will one verse be? >>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat fa tha south, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & already, tha title came out; will it just be in tha beginning of tha 1st verse? Let’s see how many barz iz in this 1st verse… Hearin’ tha content you’re spittin’, here & it’s pretty rough in tha streetz of that 9-8-5… Okay, tha hook’s at 1:31; not bad! Sounds like a good hook with tha way of tha “Mechanicville,” here; good shit…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & tha beat sounds like it’s gettin’ betta…! Well, it only lasted about four barz but you still holdin’ this shit down…; keep goin’…! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse, here & it ain’t too bad; too bad I’m slightly over halfway done with this track… Hearin’ tha rest of this & it’s so much of tha hook, mixed with an outro; a lil’ too long in all wayz… My Rating: 3.8

½tyme: Hate ta say that this release only iz slightly below average fa me, currently. There’s too many barz in verses, at tymes, as well as how long some of tha tracks are… I’m real glad I got ta hear Greg Dukes appear, as well as your street shit. It’s just, work on makin’ less of a filler, when it comes to tha tracks… Tha average rating iz only at a 3.3, currently; let’s see what’s next…

09. “Always Be A Ghetto”
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Sounds like it gon be a slow jam but it’s only 3:52, so luckily, it ain’t so long… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like a good lil’ track fa tha undaground streetz; I’ll give you some props. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad with what you spittin’, here; just a bunch of regularly-rapped shit about tha hood… Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ good lyrics but a boring flow fa me… My Rating: 3.2

10. “Rules Are Meant To Be Followed” feat. C-Loc
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Nice intro from Loc, here…; beat’s also nice & quiet but still nice. Hearin’ what you got goin’ on fa tha 1st verse & it’s cool; I’m diggin’ this flow & vibe, this tyme… Hearin’ tha hook & I ain’t even realize it was a hook; still, it sounded nice ta hear with this content about tha “rules.” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, now & it’s BiggDawg, comin’ through with good street knowledge; dope flow & helpin’ out Mr. Fada, Loc…! Was there a transition (e.g., hook) b4 you on tha 3rd verse? See, this fucked-up transitionin’ iz really fuckin’ up this release fa me! My Rating: 3.9

11. “The Game Ain’t For Everybody”
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Beat sounds good fa tha south but mainly, fa you ta rap your good street content on… Hearin’ tha 1st verse with what you’re bringin’ & it ain’t bad; I’m still not fuckin’ with tha regularly-delivered flow, tho. Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good with how you lay it down about “tha game” and it not bein’ “for everybody”; not bad/good job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you comin’ through with that focused shit; I’ll give you some props… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse with what you got, here & again, it’s startin’ ta sound kinda long. Rhymes are continuously dope but how many do you gotta have in just one song? That hurts tha track’s catchiness level… My Rating: 3.5

12. “Candy Man” feat. Toad & V2M
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Beat cool, here; tha hook sounds like somethin’ different, with this energy… Hearin’ how dude comin’ through fa you with a boosted amount of energy’s nice; we’ll see how much I can feel-feel it, in tha end… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds okay; gotta get used to feelin’-feelin’ this… Keepin’ this goin’ with tha energy on tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ good; this joint may have tha most energy but it’s not tha catchiest for me. I know it sounds like I’m contradictin’ myself, at tymes, but that’s what’s happenin’ with me while I hear this… My Rating: 3.6

13. “Fuck The Fada”
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Okay, this energy’s much betta, so far! Only problem iz it’s 5:59! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds dope with how you’re more energized with a dark/intense-soundin’ beat, here…! Hearin’ tha hook & I always thought you was pronounced “fah-da” but it’s “fade-ah”; glad ta hear you say your stage name—½ of it…! Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 2nd verse & it sounds aggressive, once again; gotta keep goin’! Hearin’ more comin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ great & I’m still hangin’ in there…! Okay, we got a long outro on tha end, here; sounds good, no matter how long… My Rating: 3.8

14. “Thug Prayas”
Producer: Nathan “Happy” Perez
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ beat & what’s goin’ on with tha 1st verse, here… Luckily, this only 3:09, so I don’t have to be bored, easily. Keepin’ this goin’ with tha 2nd verse & tha dark tymes of tha streetz continue; pretty intense, through tha content…! My Rating: 3.9

15. “If You Don’t Know, You Gon Know!” feat. Mr. Price
Producer: Greg Dukes
Dukes!! >>> Oh fuck, it’s this track! I remember this from, like, my radio show or somethin’! What a beast Dukes was on this beat!!! Hearin’ what’s goin’ on with tha 1st verse & it’s real with tha different of what “you” do & “don’t know”; excellent! Luv how eerie & dark Greg Dukes comes through wit it on tha beat, throughout tha 1st verse!! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds catchy; I feel what’s goin’ on & how you make it sound catchy! Finally, after almost tha whole album, we finally have a 4.0-rated track!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, as I continue, with Mr. Price, here & he sounds good/aight… Just like how you were, earlier, Price kinda sounds like tha spoken-word flow that was throwin’ me off, earlier in this review. Anyway, keepin’ this movin’ with tha 3rd verse & it sounds dope with how you continuously deliver that hot shit! Oh boy, when tha hi-hats disappear from 2:53 – 2:58, oooooooooooOOOOOOOh!! Greg Dukes got a trophy fa dis one!! Luv how I get ta hear tha amazin’ Dukes on tha beat, as tha beat just rides tha fuck out!! My Rating: 4.8

16. Outro
>>> Sounds like a sad, sappy beat ta end thangz off… I’m glad I at least got one 4.0er outta you, tho; couldn’t’ve been happier with what I picked! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Well, I wasn’t too impressed with tha flows but tha content for tha streetz was nice ta hear, here. Lots of tha beats sounded like they were either dark but not catchy enough or they were southern but a lil’ too plain. Either way, this how my reviewz go; it’s odd that there were no 4.0-rated tracks till tha end & it was closer to a ***PERFECT RATING***!

01. Intro
Here we go… >>> A nice, creepy “intro” beat, here, includin’ how y’all sound; dope shit! My Rating: N/A

02. “Mafia Style”
>>> Went right inta it, without me knowin’! Beat’s definitely pure, here; luvin’ tha undaground sound! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and y’all got this G-shit on lock, here! Pure darkness, pure gangsta shit at its finest! Tha 2nd dude on tha 1st verse even more focused! Definitely nice, here! Rhymes got this shit on-n-poppin’! Like, gun-poppin’!! Lol @ “nigga diggity-ditch!” Keepin’ this shit goin’, we got more shit comin’! Definitely feelin’ this; can’t express it any further!! My Rating: 4.7

03. “Po-Pos”
I already know ‘bout dem, smh… >>> Diggin’ tha beat start; sounds like a classic video game. Then, tha beat turns inta some nice, undaground, dark shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, evadin’ “tha Po-Pos!” A quick hook, here, expressin’ y’all anti-“Po-Pos” feelings… Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through like bosses; can’t deny it! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice; shit continues ta keep it on-n-poppin’! And, y’all continue ta keep this shit goin’, transitions from verses to hooks or not! My Rating: 4.2

04. “Buck Wild”
>>> Beat sounds nice fa tha start, here; definitely a catchy beat fa tha undaground! Those sounds get ya! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and y’all got this shit on lock! Gotta keep it “raw,” ya know?! Tha 2nd dude’s soundin’ great ta keep this G-shit continuin’, ya dig? Great job wit tha tracks, tho why no transitions to tha hook? It’s almost like there’s either no hook or it only plays once? My Rating: 4.3

½time: Soundin’ nice, so far, despite not that many hooks… Beats are definitely pure and tha energy’s there! A 4.4-rated CD, currently; nice!

05. “Duce Nine Niggaz”
>>> Sounds nice, here; great beat fa tha undaground and tha 1st verse’s nice! Hearin’ tha hook (I think, hook, right?!) and it’s catchy; reppin’ fa da “2-9!” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty energetic; definitely unstoppable! “34 x 10 = how many bullets comin’ at cha;” damn, 340? Crazy shit wit tha 2nd verse, here! And, we got anotha dude on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit mo energy!! Can’t deny it!! And, a bunch of “duce nine” representin’ at tha end, here… My Rating: 4.4

06. “Playboy Mix”
>>> Beat sounds nice and chill fa tha dark, undaground, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds nice fa this chill sound… Lol, I like how y’all rhymed, “Because my game iz too strong and my dick iz too long;” y’all flowed that nicely… Tha hook’s nice, here, even tho it’s kinda short… Either way, it’s still a successful transition to tha 2nd verse… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice, too… A quick 3rd verse? It was, like, two bars? Four bars? Real short, but still a nice track… Hearin’ tha outro and it’s good fa this track, nice and laidback… My Rating: 4.0

07. “Village Gonna Back Me”
>>> Anotha laidback vibe; I like this one betta? Long beat intro’s got me enjoyin’ this vibe! Great job wit tha first 44 seconds! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and despite tha laidback vibe, y’all deliverin’ dat G-shit like it’s nothin’! “Tha” hook sounds nice; all y’all needed was tha title ta hold this down! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice! “Forget about a drive-by because I’m high and I ain’t scared ta die!” I hate ta say it, but I feel like that, at times, while “high.” It’s like, once my brother died, it’s almost like, tha time’s tickin’; what’s tha sense of tha world, sometimes? Sometimes! Gotta keep tha excitement in life comin’, tho; there’s still so much more ta see! And, a 3rd verse fit, here…; nice! My Rating: 4.1

08. Outro
>>> Anotha nice beat, here, fa tha dark… Props fa tha shout outs, as always… My Rating: N/A

Overall: Great release, y’all! Gotta luv my dark releases dat be ‘bout dat gangsta shit! Props fa keepin’ it trill wit this one!

01. Intro
>>> Nice theme ta go wit your title; great skit, Twilight Zone style! My Rating: N/A

02. “Twilight Zone”
>>> Nice, long beat intro… I like your “sag” attitude, strictly keepin’ your streetz on lock, still! Good, gangsta-type hook, too, wit this “Twilight Zone” shit goin’ on! My Rating: 3.9

03. “Take Over”
>>> Length’s a nice 2:00; let’s see what you can bring to tha table, real quick… Nice beat you chose ta rap on; good shit you bringin’, here, wit your attitude! Thumbs up fa keepin’ your shit up! My Rating: 4.2

04. “The Smoke Out” Feat. BaccaTown Slim, P & Fly Spitta
A collaboration—a bunch of newbies! >>> Sounds like a cool, slow, street song; “turnin’ all tha lights out!” All tha features are aight; I like what they all sayin’, here. LOL @ you, always keepin’ shit on-n-poppin’! My Rating: 4.0

05. “1, 2, 3, 4”
>>> Nice anthem, countin’ your way ta tha bank! Ooh, fast Baby L’s, here; great delivery! Long beat outro, lol… My Rating: 4.2

06. “Freestyle”
>>> Some things are meant to be quick; glad this iz “1, 2, 3, 4” when it comes to tha length and gettin’ to tha point. Flow’s a lil’ Rick Ross-y, but this iz still nice wit tha beat… My Rating: 3.7

07. “Megaman”
>>> More random rappin’ that ain’t bad… My Rating: 3.5

08. “G Rhymes”
This was in tha “I’m On” spot on tha DatPiff tracklisting… >>> Sounds like more randomness, in a good way. My Rating: 3.6

09. “I’m On”
This was in tha “G Rhymes” spot on tha DatPiff tracklisting, and threw me off… >>> Lettin’ Too $hort start it off… Sounds betta once  you start rappin’; thumbs up fa lightin’ “anotha one.” I like that girl that randomly comes on tha hook and says, “Tha dopest nigga;” tight chick! My Rating: 3.8

10. “Statement Of Facts”
>>> Great attitude wit your rhymes, here; decent, overall. My Rating: 3.6

11. “Take A Hit”
>>> Anotha freestyle-type joint that sounds good, too. I like your “call, they neva hit me back” part, as that’s what has happened to me, all tha time! My Rating: 3.7

½time: It’s above-decent for a CD, so far; 3.8 for tha CD rating.

12. “Lifted”
>>> Wasn’t sure about tha background sample goin’ on, but since you’re “feelin’ high,” I can give this some props. Good job wit comin’ through wit your “high” perspective! My Rating: 3.7

13. “I Don’t Wanna Be Right”
>>> Kinda long wit tha 4:50 length? You do a nice job, but it’s mainly long, but good; at least it gets betta toward tha 3:00 mark when it sounds like you were instantly awaken, lol! My Rating: 3.5

14. “Tonight”
>>> Gay hook; you should’ve chosen somethin’ else! Rhymes barely aight for me, here… My Rating: 2.2

15. “Kool Boi”
>>> LOL @ your “gay as tha fuck” beginning; nice attitude… What’s wit tha longer lengths all of a sudden? Tha hook sounds a lil’ catchy, and tha verses have a bit of a tryin’-ta-get-this-girl-type perspective, which sounds good. My Rating: 3.6

16. “Take A Trip” Feat. Rewind
>>> Why a fade-in beginning? I’ll quote your “gay as tha fuck” for this hook… You’re not bad fa this, but Rewind sounds good for a 1st listen; nice rhymes and good voice! My Rating: 3.2

17. “Da Rundown (Part 3)” Feat. J Fresh
>>> Weird sample goin’ on, here… Tha J Fresh dude’s startin’ this off, and his rhymes are catchy; I like tha “runny nose” part. Did tha song switch up when you started to rap on here? Weird, but it sounds good, too! Nice “gotta grip it like a mouse trap” part! My Rating: 3.8

18. “Kush Klouds”
Yea!! >>> Can’t deny this, even though it’s only decent for a song for me. Rhymes ain’t too bad, overall… My Rating: 3.7

19. Outro
>>> Nice exposure, even in “Missouri!” I like how you sound high as fuck, here; go Baby L’s, my ma’fuckin’ dude!! My Rating: N/A

20. “Doodie Bop (Dance)” Feat. Gooboi & BaccaTown Slim
This as a bonus? Seemed like so long ago… My Current Rating: 2.8

21. “Kush Klouds (Chopped & Screwed Version)”
Lookin’ forward to hearin’ tha C&S version! >>> This sounds much betta! It was meant ta be slow as fuck! Cool C&S Baby L’s voice you got, here! My Rating: 4.2

22. “Don’t Like”
Not on tha back cover, lol? >>> Good thing tha quick lengths are back… I like your anti-“jealousy” shit that you’re rappin’ about, here; not bad, overall… My Rating: 3.9

Overall: Not bad for a CD, overall; glad you still keepin’ up wit this rap shit and not soundin’ dead or anything!

Review #1,069: L.A. Tre "Summer Storm Vol. 2: Hurricane Season"

Reviewed on 8.26.2011 (Review #1,069)

Next up, L.A. Tre Summer Storm Vol. 2: Hurricane Season. Start Time: 12:18 PM | End Time: 12:39 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I already love it. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating! Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “I’m Back”
>>> Not too bad for a start; seems like you’re really focused. Damn, slangin’ shit, too? Wonder if you remember date and time of when you first slanged some shit? That would be interestin’… Good job wit tha catchy rhymes goin’ on, here. My Rating: 3.8

02. “Re-Introduction”
>>> Sounds like you’re defeatin’ an enemy, easily? LOL, kickin’ ass, here… Nice job wit tha rhymes, once again. My Rating: 3.9

03. “Times Gettin’ Hard”
>>> Not tha kinda beat I’d rap on but tha rhymes are decent… My Rating: 3.2

04. “Back To That Murder Shit!”
LOL @ tha exclamation point! >>> Oh, I didn’t realize it was cliché/already in use for tha title… When did you get this gangsta? Plus, if you’re this gangsta, where’s tha attitude? You should add some anger; aren’t you angry at someone? :confused My Rating: 3.4

05. “For The Hood”
>>> A lil’ too much like Wayne on tha voice, here? Actually, rhymes are pretty consistent, wit quality! Nice job wit tha rappin’, here! My Rating: 4.0

06. “Money Right” Feat. J-Hitta
>>> Now, you sound a lil’ like Drake, here… I like this representation of doin’ “it for tha block;” good shit! Was that J-Hitta in tha beginning? This sounds more like you on tha 2nd verse; good collab, includin’ tha gangsta shit, again, lol. My Rating: 3.7

07. “Hate Me”
>>> Sounds like I can dig this; I’m feelin’ tha catchiness between tha beat you chose, and how you handlin’ tha hook. I’m into tha rhymes, too; even though this iz a lil’ long, it’s not that bad ta deal wit… My Rating: 3.8

08. “I Think I’m Bill Gates”
Then, you think you have Autism or Asperger’s? BTW, there were two #8s; wasn’t sure which one was #8 & #9… >>> No interest in tha rhymes, unfortunately; don’t even see where tha title comes into play, too. My Rating: 1.8

09. “Serious”
>>> Lil’ too long of an intro for a short song… Slowly losin’ interest wit some of tha typical shit goin’ on… “My niggaz got pounds;” what’s it like ta hang wit drug dealers? Date & time of first encounter? My Rating: 2.8

½time: Not that bad…; a 3.4 for tha CD rating, right now.

10. “I’m On”
>>> This sounds aight; I can feel it, a lil’… My Rating: 3.5

11. “Look At Me Now Flow”
>>> Sounds good wit how you’re handlin’ this beat; nice job! My Rating: 4.1

12. “Mixtape Creature”
LOL? What about album? I think “mixtape”s are pretty outdated, now! >>> This iz as consistent as tha previous freestyle! My Rating: 4.2

13. “Scared Money” Feat. J-Hitta
Why iz it scary? :confused Actually, it’s scary when people talk about it constantly in their music! >>> Kinda boring and on a typical note, figures… Unfortunately, it sounds like I’m listenin’ to a typical rapper? J-Hitta’s on tha 2nd verse and it’s a touch better, but that’s about it. My Rating: 2.4

14. “Make It Rain” (Silk & Tre)
Who’s tha other dude? >>> Of course, pretty homosexual wit this beat, in this dumb-ass 2010s generation! I like these random lyrics in tha 1st verse, from “nuttin’” to “weed,” lol? Even tha 2nd verse sounds random, but good, too. My Rating: 3.1

15. “Cypher” (J-Hitta & L.A. Tre)
Combo? I think I got tha title right… >>> Decent; nothin’ ta say. My Rating: 3.0

16. “People Change Up”
Where’s tha “up” comin’ from? >>> This iz really long; don’t think I can handle it… Your voice sounds a lil’ lower, here, or iz that tha beat and you, combined? Oh, I hear tha hook, now; it’s true… Tha difference between others and myself iz that I evolved: hated bein’ 20, 21 & ½ of 22! Now that I’m 23, I get to care about myself and myself only! My Rating: 2.7

17. “Hard In The Paint Flow”
>>> Anotha one wit a longer length? Three minutes seems too long for a jacked beat, smh. LOL @ all this drug shit; I dunno how much I can take it serious, no offense. I guess I’m lookin’ for an attitude? You sound tha same on most of these tracks… “Nutted in her face” …; “one clip to his head” …; “rollin’ up some weed” …; “we makin’ love” …; “I struggled at a young age;” you see what I’m sayin’? Well, there’s a lil’ bit of anger, at least. My Rating: 2.5

18. “We Back” Feat. Gutta & Smeech
>>> Was gonna “WTF?” at tha Tupac in tha beginning but it’s “Tupac Back”, so it’s an exception. LOL, surprised you know about this song, already… Overall, tha rappin’ iz random for me; nothin’ bad, but nothin’ good, either. My Rating: 2.6

Overall: Not tha worst, but nothin’ excitin’, except #11 & 12.

Rankings:

18.       “I Think I’m Bill Gates” 1.8
17.       “Scared Money” Feat. J-Hitta 2.4

Reviewed on 6.10.2011 (Review #1,000)

Whoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! How’d I get to my 8th review of tha day already?!? For ya information, this iz my 1,000th review, overall!!! Here’s tha magical moment for… Houma’s own, Low-Down “Tales Of Da South”, released on Elusion Records!!!!!!!!!! Tha last time a figure went up, it was on July 14, 2008, when I did my 100th review for Jimmy The DJ’s classic, “Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass”! Now, after almost three years, I went up to a four-figure number of reviewz!!! LOL, how many years/decades will it take for tha five-figure digit? LOL, you know I’ll stay grindin’!! Start Time: 12:47 PM | End Time: 1:10 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. 14. “Mr. 9 – Interlude”
LOL, let’s see what this dude has ta say… >>> Sounds like a song, regardless of tha “interlude” bein’ in tha title. For it bein’ a song, tha beat’s okay and tha quick rhymes ta “Mr. 9” iz what’s up! My Rating: 3.8

15. “Tales Of Da South”
Tha title track; let’s hear it! >>> Tha beat’s nice and smooth, on a funky level, and tha rhymes are good, too. I think you have an error on tha front cover wit tha apostrophe wit “Tales’”… Feelin’ tha street content you’re continuin’ ta bring to tha track, ya dig? My Rating: 4.1

16. “The Man I’ve Become”
>>> I feel you wit this evolution; I’m definitely evolvin’ and keepin’ tha review # up high and not stoppin’! 17. “Keepin’ It Real”
Time ta end tha 1,000th review wit, lol… >>> “I keep it real every fuckin’ day;” that’s what you gotta do!! SMH @ tha fake people dat pretend dat they’re “real;” how can you pretend? Stupid cunts dat suffer from peer-pressure!! :td Anyway, good rhymes, here, wit tha nice, funky beat and tha good hook! Ooh, a feature on this, lol; they sound good, too… My Rating: 4.1
