Review #1,677: Hide Out Clique "Game On Freeze"

Reviewed on 3.12.2017 (Review #1,677)

Happy 46th day in a row of reviewin’ CDs & Happy Birthday to my mom & Crazy Kim!! Well, since my best friend’s locked up, lemme catch up on more reviewz while it’s shitty & cold out, as well… Here goes my next review in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon: Hide Out Clique Game On Freeze, released in 1998 on Mack-A-Million Records & was produced by Playa Will (except tha final track, which was produced by Sugar Bear! Start Time: 7:08 PM | End Time: 8:22 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Bad! Like My Big Brother”
>>> Ooh, energetic beat and you’re ”roarin’!!” on tha 1st verse, here! Tha hook’s pretty catchy; definitely feelin’ tha top-notch energy!! What are you on, here?! Five espresso shots, lol?! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, too; energy at its finest!! Even got tha 3rd verse on lock, here, too; can’t deny it! I like when you go, “Oww!!,” too! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Do Like I Told Ya”
>>> Feelin’ tha energy on tha hook, once again; excellent sound! Too bad K-Chill from Opelousas ripped this off 13 years later, with “Take It Outside”; similar-soundin’ hooks! I would’ve neva known till I reviewed this! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s poppin’ off; can’t deny it… Definitely a nice “twerk” anthem, here, as you express; gotta feel it! Great job with tha 2nd verse, too, strictly holdin’ it down! My Rating: 4.1

03. “Sho No Love”
>>> Diggin’ tha rhythm in tha beat in tha beginning, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty intense with your aggression, once again! Tha 1st verse has it goin’ on, of course; can’t deny it… Keepin’ it goin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ nice, of course… My Rating: 4.2

04. “Where My Old Man At?”
>>> Energetic beat, here, bouncin’ around! Tha hook’s nice; good shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s all about this “old man!” Did you say, “Stop and do tha dougie?” Were you a decade ahead of tha game? Tha rest of this ain’t too bad, as it’s long, tho… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Sister Soul”
>>> Beat sounds jammin’ fa tha undaground, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ bouncy, like junk in a trunk or somethin’… Tha hook’s soundin’ catchy, at times; can’t complain… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s decent, as you’re holdin’ down this beat… My Rating: 3.6

06. “It’s Wartime (Tryin’ To Told You)”
>>> Beat sounds catchy; nice energy on tha hook! Nice job with tha verses, here, as you have tha aggression and energy on lock! My Rating: 4.2

½time: So far, so good; definitely feelin’ your top-notch aggression and energy, here! Undeniable, at times!! A 4.0-rated CD, so far; let’s get it!!

07. “Actin’ Bad” feat. The Hideout
>>> Nice shit from The Hideout, here; gotta feel tha rhymes!! Excellent job with tha 1st verse! Nice job with tha hook, too; they got they shit on lock… Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ good… More shit from The Hideout on tha 3rd verse, here, holdin’ it down fa dem gangstaz… My Rating: 4.0

08. “Ready To Rumble” feat. DJ Jubilee & Mr. Kal
Can’t imagine how bouncy this collab gon be…! >>> Kinda reminds me of Mystikal’s “Beware” when they say, “Beware!!,” on tha hook; luvin’ tha energy!! Tha hook’s top-notch quality with energy, here; “rumble!!!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty intense from you, here; can’t deny it! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; you sound too calm fa this, on this verse… You’re on tha 3rd verse, here, and it’s ehh…; where’s tha energy? My Rating: 3.9

09. “Do The 2-Sweet” feat. DJ Jubilee
>>> Bounce vibe, here, with Jub on tha feature, again… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you got a lot ta offer, here, fa tha 504! I’m diggin’ tha 2nd verse a whole lot, as you have tha Jubilee style on lock, here! “Do tha 6th Ward, do tha 7th Ward; do tha 8th Ward, do tha 9th Ward!” Nice!! My Rating: 4.2

10. “Let’s Get It On” feat. Lucky Luck
“Let’s” hear how lucky this Luck featured artist iz… >>> Beat’s kinda calm… Hearin’ tha beginning and it sounds like tha both of y’all have dat aggression; nice! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like you know how ta handle these streetz! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse’s that Lucky Luck, comin’ through wit tha rhymes… It’s more for tha hoes and tha twerkerz, but it ain’t too bad… Keepin’ it goin’ witchu on tha 2nd verse, here, as you’re holdin’ tha rhymes down, once again… I luv how tha part from 2:39 – 2:41 sounds like what Q-Red would breathe on tha tracks, at times (“yah-yah”); that’s what it reminds me of… I guess y’all were a decade ahead of y’all time, once again? My Rating: 3.8

11. “What You See Is What You Get!” feat. The Hideout
>>> Beat sounds nice and upbeat, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it ain’t too bad; you holdin’ tha upbeat vibe down, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like it’s fulla energy with “what [they] get!” Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here…; not bad… Tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; good shit fa tha streetz… My Rating: 3.8

12. “Sho No Love (Drum Mix)”
>>> Decent mix, here, compared to tha original… To me, tha energy was lost… My Rating: 3.5

13. “Rumble (Remix)” feat. Henry The Man & Super Dave
Will this remix work out? >>> Still got tha energy, here, but will tha beat have it? Ehh, beat not too bad, here; sounds more undaground than upbeat fa me, here… My Rating: 3.6

Overall: At times, decent; at times, fulla energy; at times, aggression on its top level! Overall, I thought you did great with this release; nice job! Definitely felt all tha energy, at times…
