Review #2,045: Tha G.T. "Lost In Translation Series, Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 10.12.2023 (Review #2,045)

What’s up? FrankieThaLuckyDog here, with a review, in tha rap world! Can’t believe it’s been almost nine months since my last rap review! Guess we gotta start really throwin’ all these songs of today that only focus about money, money, money in tha shmelly-ole trash!! Yeah, I’ve been duckin’ off from tha new music out, today. Too much of it already gets extremely over-promoted; it’s like, nobody needs anything, anymore. I’ve been mainly focusing on all tha underground, Louisiana rap music from 1983 – 2013 with my #LouisianaRapVaultChallenge commercial series, that I’ve been continuously doin’… On tha other side, with this review, I was asked, outta nowhere & decided to take it on. Courtesy of Tha G.T. Muzik, we have Tha G.T. Lost In Translation Series, Vol. 1. How will this go with me? I’ve only listened to 13 rap tracks, this year… Start Tyme: 8:56 PM | End Tyme: 9:23 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals & then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before
“ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Bye-Bye”
While typin’ up tha track titles, I noticed all but tha 1st & 2nd, as well as tha 7th & 8th tracks, are in alphabetical order. That’s a lil’ on tha awkward side fa me… >>> Don’t know if I can start with such a slow pace… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & tha rappin’ iz so fast! Doesn’t blend right for me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & startin’ off with a “bag” reference; not feelin’ that. Lyrics & rhymes are nice to hear but everything else turns me off. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s decent; good rhymes but nothin’ fa me ta wanna get high to… My Rating: 2.7

02. “Bussin’”
>>> Where are tha Baton Rouge beats?! What iz with this typical-soundin’ shit? Tha hook cool with tha “Bussin’” shit but it’s way too slow for me to enjoy… Tha 1st verse started off like you soundin’ like a white dude! Ahhh!! Fix that delivery!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & yeah, once you say, “Runnin’ up a check…,” I just think of why I’ve been duckin’ off from all these tracks of today. That’s why, I told Killa McClain, earlier in tha spring, “When we make ‘In Frankin’, absolutely NO rhymes about money!” It came from my QC perspective & we made ourselves an anthem! My Rating: 3.0

03. “Complex”
>>> Beat sounds like a G-Unit-type beat; ick…! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it’s okay, as far as tha rhymes go… Tha lyrics are str8 & catchy with tha “maze,” as far as tha hook goes; nothin’ much else ta say… “I’m chasing stacks on a mission,” as tha 2nd verse progresses… Ahh!! Anotha “money” reference!! I’m tryna abolish it, in tha media!! My Rating: 2.8

04. “Get 2 Tha Money”
Danger title!! >>> Absolutely no originality, here! Beat sounds like somethin’ you hear from every rapper, from every part of tha world. Tha 1st verse, I have no comment on, as this track progresses… Oh, that hook’s so ear-bleedin’ to me!! Tha 2nd verse a lil’ betta but no, not for me. My Rating: 1.0

½tyme: Only a 2.4 for tha average rating, so far… Beats are too mainstream-soundin’ & bland; ain’t nothin’ new or exciting…

05. “I Ain’t Have Enough”
In today’s world, tha songs are so short. So, why in tha hell iz there a 6:11 rap track in 2023?! >>> Beat sounds slow & typical, here… Tha hook okay; just a boring vibe, overall. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s okay; nothin’ bad, nothin’ excitin’… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & just seems like it goes on & on, as far as these random rhymes go… Fading out at 2:58? Tf? Why does tha track repeat, again? Why would you upload tha same track 2x, in tha same track?! That affects tha rating, still! My Rating: 2.5

06. “I’m Good”
>>> Ahh, a gay-soundin’ voice, in tha hook! Definitely trash, as far as tha dude on tha hook goes! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & ehh, way too much with tha money rhymes, so I’m turned off… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from you & it ain’t bad, as far as your rhymes go… My Rating: 1.1

07. “New Shoes”
>>> Beat sappy & not interestin’… Already startin’ tha 1st verse with tha “my cake up” shit; I’ll keep pushin’ ta get every rapper to eliminate money-related shit in their rhymes! Let’s go back to shit like “Watch My Shoes”; those are tha “Shoes” I want!! Hearin’ tha hook & ewe, tha voice threw me off… Sounds like Sade but she don’t fit in what I wanna hear, right now… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it doesn’t need any feedback; tha track continues… Keepin’ this movin’ with a 3rd verse, here… I still think 5:18 iz way too long for today’s world; interest iz lost so fast… An outro at tha 4:00 mark, with 1:18 left of tha track… More of tha singin’, toward tha end; God, this iz so depressing…! My Rating: 1.2

08. “I’m Killin’ ‘Em”
>>> Intro started instantly, with this beat… Beat too mainstream-soundin’; prolly no interest from me, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s just rhymes, basically… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s simple; nothin’ to brag but at least, no “money”! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & tha rhymes are pretty nice; I’m feelin’ tha continuousness of tha rhymes, at least… My Rating: 2.9

Overall: Totally not for me, in this 2023 world… As a 35-year-old, it’s all about bringin’ tha quality you grew up with. That’s why, I want to hear nothin’ but pure, Baton Rouge rap, totally pilled-out, without any focuses on money! Money turned me in to tha victim of Louisiana violence & I want it abolished in tha rap world!! Any media, too! With that bein’ said, for your next releases’ tracks, go get some original Baton Rouge beats that sound nothin’ like mainstream or New York-soundin’ shit.

01. “Hustler’s Anthem”
>>> Sounds good with tha beat & how MobbGod comes thru on tha 1st verse; laidback but on a full-focused vibe… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good wit what MobbGod got on it; thumbs up… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s MM4L Jayy, comin’ thru with some good shit ta blend in wit tha Mobb…! My Rating: 4.2

02. “187”
>>> Sounds nice with tha MobbGod beat & how we start off with a Jayy verse, here on tha 1st verse…! I’m appreciatin’ how he comin’ thru on tha beat, here; continue ta stay focused…! As far as tha hook, no, MobbGod; cool organic voice but no need for a voice effect! Call it “QC venom,” as I call it. Speakin’ of MobbGod, here he iz on tha 2nd verse, comin’ thru with a normal voice, normal rappin’ & soundin’ good on his own beat. My Rating: 3.5

03. “Stand On Principles”
>>> Beat on point but again, I’m not diggin’ MobbGod’s unnecessary voice effect on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad. Like, Sav, why you only know how to make tha verses have a normal voice? Speakin’ of normal voices, here’s Jayy on tha 2nd verse & it sounds like a good lil’ track fa tha streetz. My Rating: 3.0

04. “GoodNight”
>>> A slower beat from tha Mobb, here… Hearin’ Jayy on tha 1st verse & I’m diggin’ tha rhymes he bring to tha streetz; gotta luv his consistency. Hearin’ tha hook from MobbGod & at least it’s a normal-soundin’ hook, this tyme. “Put it on tha stove, I can show you what it cook like;” yeah, Sav…! Keepin’ it goin’ wit MobbGod on tha 2nd verse & tha rhymes str8; I’ll leave it at dat. My Rating: 3.7

05. “Mad MFs”
>>> This one sounds smooth & iz on that UGK tip, as far as tha hook & beat’s vibe. Likin’ how you sound like tha Pimp, Mobb; no bullshit effects…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like an uncredited dude; decent lil’ verse in tha mist of this smooth vibe… Here comes tha 2nd verse & we got Jayy on tha verse, comin’ thru with tha good shit fa tha streetz… My Rating: 3.8

06. “Life Goes On”
>>> A lil’ faster vibe with an okay sound, overall… Hearin’ MobbGod produce & rap on tha 1st verse, soundin’ good with tha rhymes… I have to say, fuck tha whole “loan forgiveness” & its confusion. Still can’t believe them MFs still tryna get somethin’ outta me. With that bein’ said, not really feelin’ tha hook that much; too soft, especially with tha voice effects on MobbGod… Hearin’ a normal voice from MM4L Jayy on tha 2nd verse, comin’ thru with consistent rhymes fa tha streetz. Gotta feel everythang comin’ out his mouth… My Rating: 3.6

07. “Need Mo Help”
>>> Tha beat sounds nice; I like how it samples tha bassline to “Here I Go”, in a true, ‘90s Louisiana fashion! Hearin’ tha hook from MobbGod & it’s cool; glad he got a normal voice & pointin’ out that people “Need Mo Help”! Facts! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Jayy & he rippin’ shit up, continuously! Gotta dig it; go get ‘em, Jayy! Hearin’ MobbGod on tha 2nd verse & tha rappin’ cool; blends in nicely wit tha beat, Jayy’s verse & MobbGod’s hook… My Rating: 3.9

08. “Nonstop”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ upbeat track; nice beat & 1st part of tha verse, MobbGod… “He trippin’ like he off a lotta beanz.” Lol, Sav; gotta feel it! Speakin’ of a bean king, here comes Jayy on tha 2nd part of tha verse, keepin’ tha rhymes consistent for tha streetz & ones that focus! Nice shout-out ta “Johnnie Domino,” too… My Rating: 4.0

½tyme: So far, a 3.7-rated release, currently; feelin’ tha combination of y’all, even tho MobbGod’s voice effects been fuckin’ up some of tha hooks… Let’s keep gettin’ betta & start deliverin’ that euphoric-type shit…!

09. “Rake It In”
>>> Sounds good wit this beat & how Jayy comin’ thru on tha 1st verse; can’t be denied…! As far as tha hook, it ain’t bad with MobbGod on this one; keep it movin’… Speakin’ of keepin’ it movin’, here comes MobbGod on tha 2nd verse, comin’ thru wit shit to appreciate… My Rating: 3.6

10. “Roll Wit Me”
>>> A smoother track but not feelin’ tha singin’ on tha hook, Sav… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from MobbGod & again, it sounds betta with tha organic voice & how tha rhymes flow… Hearin’ Jayy on tha 2nd verse & he sounds so much betta on tha voice; feelin’ what he bringin’ to tha table to save tha track, here… My Rating: 3.5

11. “Stay Down”
>>> Just like some of tha previous tracks on here, tha beat smooth & nice fa tha streetz. Then, you got MobbGod singin’ on tha hook; this one ain’t that bad… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Sav & it’s cool; keep it goin’… Got Jayy on tha 2nd verse & I’m diggin’ his consistency; definitely nice! Keep spittin’ dem flamez, my boy! My Rating: 3.8

12. “On My Mind”
>>> Sounds like an annoying voice from MobbGod on tha hook, here, as well as tha “money” shit; beat ain’t that bad, tho… Here comes Jayy on tha 1st verse, comin’ thru with good rhymes, again… Hearin’ MobbGod on tha 2nd verse & at least these consistent rhymes are keepin’ this track alive. Props fa knowin’ what it’s hittin’ fo, MobbGod…! My Rating: 2.6

13. “I’mma Eat”
>>> Not inta tha hook, with MobbGod singin’ on it, again… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Jayy & it’s on & poppin’ with these consistent rhymes; good shit…! Keepin’ this movin’ with MobbGod on tha 2nd verse…; not bad, with tha usual rhymes for tha streetz… My Rating: 3.1

14. “Oh Lawd”
>>> Much betta for a hook, finally!! Feelin’ tha beat & how MobbGod got tha hook on lock, here! Luvin’ tha aircraft sound effects shootin’! “Oh Lawd!” Hearin’ MobbGod comin’ thru on tha 1st verse & I’m feelin’ tha slightly-deeper voice, on tha delivery; good shit, Sav…! Got Jayy on tha 2nd verse & he sound good wit what he consistently bringin’…; gotta dig it! My Rating: 4.1

15. “Ain’t No Secret”
>>> Likin’ how this beat start sounds like a throwback to tha good-ole Baton Rouge dayz, Sav; good goin’…! Hearin’ tha hook from MobbGod & it’s good, includin’ tha lil’ added emotions from Jayy, too! Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse, Sav & it’s pretty dope; keep it goin’, keep it goin’…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Jayy & it’s more consistency fa tha listener’s ass; good shit…! My Rating: 4.0

16. “Too Important”
>>> Sounds good with this beat & how Jayy comin’ thru on tha 1st verse; gotta feel him… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s catchy with how MobbGod comin’ thru wit it… “Bitches on my balls…”; lol, Sav… Likin’ tha 2nd ½ of tha hook, too, with that title part repeatin’… Hearin’ more from MobbGod on tha 2nd verse, comin’ thru with tha lifestyle of an ‘80s baby in their 40’s; good shit, MobbGod! My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Most of this review went over in a decent way; beats were nice, tho everything was more on an average approach, overall. Felt Jayy’s verses & contributions tha most; he’s alwayz destined ta shine… Sav, I know you gon get betta wit how them hooks sound; keep at it & think of those The Equation dayz of ’08! Btw, I have more ta review from you, Sav, comin’ later this week; I gon play catch-up…

Review #2,032: MM4L Jayy "Mobb Material"

Reviewed on 12.02.2022 (Review #2,032)

I wanna send a special Happy 26th Birthday shout-out to my boy, MM4L Jayy! Happy Birthday, my boy! I wanna say, “Big homie,” but bein’ 8 ½ years younger than me, technically, aren’t I tha “big homie”? But yeah, this his latest release, Mobb Material, courtesy of MobbGod’s Solo Mafia Enterprises! Can’t wait ta hear more of what Jayy has ta offer with Big Sav! Jayy definitely one of tha best artists to emerge in my life, in 2022; can’t wait till we work in tha future, later in tha decade! Fa now, here goes my birthday present, a.k.a. tha review…! Start Tyme: 7:01 PM | End Tyme: 7:40 PM

01. “Standing Ovation”
>>> Likin’ tha slow, anthemic sounds of tha beat from MobbGod, here…! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & you got tha rhymes on lock! Gotta luv tha punchlines & energy you bring to tha streetz! Alwayz…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds okay; I like how it sounds like motivation in tha lyrics… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good with what you bring to tha table, once again… Great job, “Jayy Redd”! Likin’ tha anthemic sounds on tha beat outro, too; good shit… My Rating: 4.2

02. “Y’all Musta Forgot 2”
>>> Likin’ this beat betta… Hearin’ tha verse & it’s soundin’ pretty jammin’, here… Wtf @ 0:22; why a censored word? *Reverses word* It wasn’t even a word? Just a beat sound? That’s a first… Once again, tha rhymes are consistent; continuous rhymes to appreciate, here… Likin’ tha hook, even tho it didn’t really sound like it transitioned into tha hook… Likin’ that “validation” shit at tha end of your verse! Also, a slowed-down “MobbGod” beat outro & tag, too… My Rating: 4.1

03. “Dollar Signz”
>>> Mo heat from tha MobbGod on tha beat, here… Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse & it sounds nice, includin’ with how tha bassline pumps… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds okay for a title that really turns me off. Speakin’ of bein’ turned off, not likin’ that your voice on tha hook sounds like a YoungBoy-type hook/track. You’re older; I’d rather you stay away from his sellout-ass…! A random dude on tha 2nd verse? Don’t have a clue who it iz; they sound like every “money” rapper, these dayz… My Rating: 3.1

04. “Game Time”
That moment where 3:06 iz tha longest song on tha album… >>> Likin’ MobbGod’s organized beat fa you, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s dope; keep dem “Percs” flowin’ in ya…! Anotha uncredited dude on tha 2nd verse, here? Don’t know this different dude but it’s okay, once again. As soon as they say, “Racks,” I just think, “That’s all that’s important, these dayz? NOTHIN’ else?!” Thank God, especially after bein’ tha victim of Louisiana violence, that “money” becomes an outcast/interest in tha shadows fa me, now… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s anotha dude… Not really feelin’ how obsessed he iz with tha “money”; makes me barely have anything to say… My Rating: 3.2

05. “Track Meet”
>>> Sounds like an awesome start with MobbGod on tha beat & tha energy in this street-type beat…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty nice; definitely feelin’ what you bringin’, here…! Hearin’ tha hook & even tho I can feel tha lyrics you spittin’ about tha “favor-for-favor,” I don’t feel tha voice effect you have on tha hook. Your regular voice woulda been fine; think of it as organic…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s str8; can’t complain, here… My Rating: 3.7

06. “Jungle” (Bryan Vick & MM4L Jayy feat. MobbGod)
A collab… >>> More with tha MobbGod on tha beat, includin’ some uncredited vocals from tha God, himself… See, I don’t mind his harmonizin’, on tha hook; at least it’s his organicness & not lookin’ for an audio handout! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it aight; let’s keep it goin’ with… Bryan Vick, comin’ through on tha 2nd verse with some regular rhymes; consistent but sounds like somethin’ any1 can rap, these dayz… “Go face that pressure or you crumble”; nicely said, Sav! Gotta face those challenges, especially at my job & tha fact that I have a new challenge with it in less than four hours, on overtyme…! My Rating: 3.8

07. “Pape”
Like “Papi”? >>> Sounds good with this MobbGod beat, too… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s aight; tha combo of these rhymes & this beat just sound like an okay song, overall… Hearin’ tha hook & it didn’t really catch on to me; only okay, too… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good wit how you lay tha rhymes down, fa tha streetz… My Rating: 3.6

½tyme: A 3.7-rated release, currently; awesome beats from MobbGod & good contributions from you, too. Just wasn’t too big about tha unknown features that aren’t credited, as well as some of tha voice effects…

08. “Make A Way”
>>> Sounds like consistent rhymes on tha 1st verse with tha MobbGod holdin’ your production down… Not likin’ tha hook; let a mainstream rapper have these voice effects & rap-sung flows… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it ain’t bad, as well; great job with tha rappin’, at tymes… My Rating: 3.5

09. “Stand On Biz”
>>> Let’s keep it goin’, MobbGod… Hearin’ you on tha verse & it’s pretty good wit what you bringin’ to tha table; luvin’ tha shit/rhymes you be cookin’ up fa tha streetz…! “I know tha Perc activated.” I’m likin’ that reference to your “Perc” kickin’ in…! My Rating: 4.3

10. “Bank Accounts”
>>> Mo MobbGod 4 Jayy, lol…! Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse & it sounds dope wit how you flowin’ on this MobbGod beat…! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty dope, especially for a title that has a money reference. At least there’s catchiness between you, your flow & tha beat; no voice effects needed! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s cool, too; gotta dig those punchlines…! “When I smile, my diamonds backfire…” Yeah! Gotta luv your grill… My Rating: 4.4

11. “Wick” feat. MM4L Wick
>>> Sounds like anotha dope MobbGod beat, here, based off tha beginning…! Hearin’ what you got on tha 1st verse & it’s pretty consistent with your rhymes; luv your energy…! Also, how MobbGod has that synth sound held, every four barz…! Oh “shit,” this tha track y’all were workin’ on when I met you, back on September 9, 2022! “Wick say he ain’t gon & take a shit without that iron on him.” That dope line; I alwayz really appreciated hearin’ that, while y’all was workin’ on this track… Also, dude on tha 2nd verse, I’m not sure of… After hearin’ them, they said, “Lil’ Wick,” so I’m assumin’ that’s them & tha title refers to them? I believe so… I don’t 100% know his stage name, so I’mma leave it blank fa now. As far as his contributions, they’re aight… My Rating: 4.3

12. “Elevation”
>>> MobbGod knows how ta cook you up some heat, on them beatz…! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s cool; all about tha “Elevation”! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & these consistent rhymes are dope…! That “cereal” & “box him up” analogy was nice ta hear; definitely nice with how your brain works, while rappin’ & writin’…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds cool; luv how you bring an awesome Louisiana vibe to these titles/hooks…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ good, too; basically, just keep it movin’…! My Rating: 4.2

13. “Freaky Bih” feat. MobbGod
>>> Sounds like MobbGod uncreditin’ himself on tha feature, here… Nice beat, includin’ tha hook from MobbGod, here… Definitely likin’ his catchiness, without a voice effect, on tha hook… “Move it up & down, move it up & down, yeah; move it up & down, move it up & down…” Yeah…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it’s cool ta hear what you got fa this “Freaky Bih”, here… Smh, here we go with anotha uncredited feature on tha 2nd verse… Just tha “money” shit that started it off turned me off; also, they sound too young fa me, here… No interest in their rhymes, as they sound like a typical rapper of today’s world… My Rating: 3.7

14. “Slidin’” feat. MobbGod
>>> Mo MobbGod beatz fa me ta enjoy, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I’m diggin’ that you focused, here; definitely what’s up with how your energy neva dies…! An unexpected hook & appearance from MobbGod, here; bad surprise, tho. Not likin’ tha voice effect & remakin’ tha “you don’t wanna fuck wit me” shit… Don’t know tha dude on tha 2nd verse but their energy’s definitely nice! Did they say they’re from “The Bay”? A West Coast collab? If so, not usually my island for today’s rap but tha dude made a nice surprise on this track… My Rating: 3.3

15. “Obituaries”
>>> Endin’ with a MobbGod beat, of course…! Almost thought this title was gon bring a depressin’ vibe out you but no, no slow vibez here…! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it’s pretty dope wit how you consistently are bringin’ tha heat to tha streetz, here…! “Create obituaries,” huh? “It’s crazy how his last mansion was a cemetary.” Pretty deep & dark… That “movie” shit pretty dope & tha “B&J” reference iz funny ‘cause at my job, I make tha fish pieces for their ice cream…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you got dope shit ta offer, as well; definitely undeniable…! My Rating: 4.3

Overall: Good shit, fa tha most part; props on believin’ in this undaground, Louisiana rap shit. It’s a tough business ta be in & represent yourself but I’ve alwayz showed buku luv to tha Bootstate… I would say, for your next project, try not to have those cringy-soundin’ hooks of voice effects & new, uncredited rappers who are only ‘bout “money.”

Review #2,029: MM4L Jayy "Hood Medicine (Deluxe Edition)"

Reviewed on 10.10.2022 (Review #2,029)

Finally gettin’ a chance ta peep this release out, despite three tracks already bein’ on my playlist… Courtesy of Solo Mafia Enterprises, we have a dope 26-year-old artist by tha name of MM4L Jayy & his latest release, Hood Medicine (Deluxe Edition). Tha original Hood Medicine (https://music.apple.com/us/album/hood-medicine/1617760423) was released tha month b4 & has four less tracks on it. Now, I’m gonna finally give my youngin an anticipatin’ review, especially wit MobbGod behind tha boards & production! So, without further or do, here goes my review for MM4L Jayy Hood Medicine (Deluxe Edition)! So glad we met on September 9, 2022, at MobbGod’s MobbHQ2 studio, in Plaquemine! Start Tyme: 8:26 PM | End Tyme: 8:53 PM

01. “The Pharmacist”
!!! >>> Feelin’ tha choir-like beat sound goin’ on in tha MobbGod production, here… Feelin’ tha consistent rappin’ on tha mic, here; definitely what’s up! Punchlines consistent like a ma’fucka, just like I had previously heard on other tracks…! Awesome with tha consistent rhymes, even tho it was just a one-verse track. My Rating: 4.2

02. “Mobb Comin’ Thru” feat. MobbGod
Tha latest video they just dropped. Now, tyme for a review, with a full-listen review… *Rehears* Luv how it just instantly starts with MobbGod on tha hook & beat! Gotta instantly hit ‘em wit tha “Mobb Comin’ Thru”! S/O to you on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit tha “pop one, pop two” shit; definitely what’s up! Hearin’ tha 1st four bars of tha hook (tha 1st hook/intro was Bars 5 – 8) & you gotta luv MobbGod puttin’ tha Mobb on tha map, all tha way round! S/O to tha way you keep it goin’ on tha 2nd verse; can’t deny tha B.R. shit you be spittin’ fa err-body affiliated witchu! My Current Rating: 4.5

03. “Rods”
>>> Definitely feelin’ tha MobbGod beat intro, here, in a true Savage perspective! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds great with more consistency! Hope no1 denies what you bring to tha table; you’re definitely worth it…! Hearin’ tha hook & no, I don’t think you need a voice effect. Literally, not every artist needs an effect! Sounds like MobbGod literally turned you into a YoungBoy, smh… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds okay; just sounds like some random topics you be rappin’ about, here. My Rating: 3.7

04. “Where Da Beans At”
Such a crazy track!! Luv how tha MobbGod beat starts off instantly, with tha true Savage sound I grew up to! Tha consistent rhymes on tha 1st verse are definitely off tha hook!! Can’t deny ‘em, especially with tha flow, too! “They ain’t gon tell you ‘bout tha lick that I had came & got hot”; awesome line! Luv tha last four bars of tha 1st verse, when tha beat drops down! “Made a left on Jasper, where da beans at?!” Luv that shit! Tha way tha beat ends, as well as tha extra rappin’, too; gotta luv it! My Current Rating: 4.9

05. “Out Da Can” feat. MobbGod
Anotha MobbGod collab on tha mic, here… Beat cool, of course, includin’ how MobbGod has a unique voice on tha hook, here… Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse, here & it sounds dope wit how you tell your stories of tha streetz, here; definitely what’s up… Hearin’ MobbGod on tha 2nd verse & lol, if this was QC, they would be like, “He luvs tha N-word, doesn’t he?” Needless ta say, good shit with this collab & how tha beat ended… My Current Rating: 4.0

½tyme: Definitely a major plus ta have you & MobbGod continuously represent on your project, here; definitely what’s up! Solo Mafia & tha Mobb are here ta stay! A 4.3-rated release, currently; let’s keep it up!

06. “On Dat Mobb Shit”
>>> More consistent rhymes & dope MobbGod beats ta rap off of, here, strictly “On Dat Mobb Shit”! Lots of rappin’, which iz good but so much continuous rappin’ decreases tha catchiness fa me, most of tha tyme… My Rating: 3.8

07. “Whatchu Mean”
>>> Anotha sick beat from MobbGod, here; tha sound of tha beat almost reminds me of a ‘90s trip-hop track… Hearin’ tha hook & I’ono, kinda reminds me of some old shit… Like, tha title reminds me of that Meek Mill/Boosie track from eight years ago or somethin’, only this has “do you” in “what tha fuck do you mean”; kinda ehh… Tha adlibs on tha hook remind me of Cash Out’s annoying-ass, from last decade… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & tha rhymes/lyrics are definitely pure as shit, of course; can’t deny how you comin’ through on these dark street beats! Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 2nd verse & it sounds like random rappin’, I’d say… My Rating: 3.8

08. “Pressure On”
>>> Sounds awesome with MobbGod’s organs & production, here, on tha intro/beat…! Hearin’ tha hook & again, it sounds like you’ve been cursed by tha YoungBoy voice effect. In my QC perspective, I’d be like, “Why?” Damn, it’s on tha 1st verse, too? What are we, sellin’ out? Good lyrics on tha 1st verse but just sounds like an annoying tease, overall. Nothin’ that I’d hate-hate; I’d rather just listen to it & accept it, basically. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & really, do we still need tha voice effect? It only hurts my ratings… My Rating: 3.5

09. “No Competition”
>>> Can’t deny tha MobbGod production, once again… A normal voice, this tyme? Wow! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s str8; I’ll give this one props, too… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds okay; nothin’ ta really say about it. Basically, just keep tha “No Competition” perspective on & up! Keepin’ this goin’ with tha 2nd verse & it str8, too; not bad, overall… Nice beat outro from MobbGod with tha strings, too! My Rating: 3.9

10. “Stay Da Same”
>>> Nooo! Tha voice effect bullshit & it sounds like a soft side of you, here! Beat ain’t bad from MobbGod but I’m not feelin’ tha soft side of you, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha verse & tha lyrics are pretty personal, for tha streetz. Not really that exciting fa me but definitely nice on keepin’ tha rhymes goin’… My Rating: 2.7

11. “Snow” feat. MobbGod
>>> A nice, slower beat from MobbGod, includin’ an intro from him, too… MobbGod, you really need a voice effect, too? Nah, I’d rather you just be you… As far as tha hook, it ain’t bad; I’ll leave it at that. Hearin’ tha verse from you & it sounds okay, Jayy. A lil’ short with these tracks but I guess tha shortness serves its purpose… My Rating: 3.0

Overall: Seemed like a promising release; felt tha 1st ½ a lot but then, tha voice effect shit took a toll on tha ratings, a lil’ bit. Either way, definitely nice ta have MobbGod produce your whole release, here! Awesome ta have him on tha production & I hope y’all continue ta own y’all thrones! I definitely feel tha consistent quality you bring to tha table, Jayy; I wish you tha best of luck!

Shout out to this release! Courtesy of Loyalty Naturally Instilled Corporation (LNIC), my 2,022nd review iz Percy Keith Certified! Can’t wait ta hear dis one, str8 from da heart! Hopefully, I can connect with it as much as I can… I know I’m definitely a lot betta—Percy, too—since tha last live review for Percy, three years ago. Yeah, I done came a long way, after hittin’ rock bottom & now, we both shakin’ back ‘cause we dem ‘80s babies in our 30’s, ya heard me?! Just like my song from last year! Anyway, wanted ta also add to tha intro that this tha 1st tyme I’m doin’ two live reviewz in one day! My tyme on my hands iz as less as possible, these dayz, but I still manage to set records for my reviewz & media! Great, ‘80s baby, autistic stoner-type shit! Now, let’s get started with tha live review for Certified! Go get ‘em, Percy!! Start Tyme: 2:05 PM | End Tyme: 2:46 PM

01. “Suicide”
It don’t get mo dark & street than this, Percy! Can’t wait ta hear what you got ta say but you know what’s crazy? It was a decade ago today, May 29, 2012, that I wrote a poem/news story for class & it was a suicide poem! Crazy & now, a decade later, here we are, kickin’ off Certified with a title called “Suicide”! Deep. >>> Sounds like a dark intro with tha beat & I’ono what ta make of your voice on tha hook, here… Hearin’ you on tha verse & it’s dope af! Luv that we’re ‘80s babies, ya heard me?! I can’t wait till I get betta with my productions & shit, so I can have you on my Autistic Stoner Rap, Vol. 2; can’t wait!! Fa this track, I luv how you sound on this with this dark beat; definitely what’s up!! Luv tha darkness of tha hook but Percy, alwayz stay alive, ya heard me?! Wow, tha 2nd verse has a much different flow than tha 1st… Or, I’m trippin’; it’s just a 2nd hook… But, overall, I definitely love what you brought to tha table, here! I’m just kickin’ back in my scratch-off lottery ticket socks, just thinkin’ of how much value you have brought to me, over tha whole past decade I’ve known of you, since October 28, 2012! With that bein’ said, I fuckin’ love what you brought to tha table, here; tha rappin’ & your voice was unbelievable!! My Rating: 4.9

02. “Day Of The Dead”
Love it! A whole 190 seconds of darkness, once again?! I hope you make it sound as catchy as you did fa “Suicide”! >>> Luvin’ tha dark keys & vibe, so far… You & tha “money,” here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad. You manipulatin’ your voice with tha effect, here, as well as doin’ it fa just tha “money.” Just had ta point dat out; lemme see if somethin’ else can catch my attention… I’m likin’ your “Welcome to tha darkside” part; definitely nice! You know you inspire me ta enjoy life in tha dark, ya heard me?! That’s how you inspire me, ya feel me?! I like how you said, “Focus,” as it sounded like, “Fo—“; good shit! I like how you talk about tha “dark tymes,” too; great lil’ flow & vibe toward tha near-end of tha track… My Rating: 4.0

03. “Rocky Road”
A chocolate ride like tha ice cream? Or, a darker ride like ups & downs? Prolly tha ups & downs but lemme hear what you got wit dis “Rocky Road” title… >>> Sounds like it’s gonna be an interestin’, slow-type of track? Yeah, it sounds like a nice lil’ country guitar in tha background, as well as tha trap/distorted beats… Nice job on tha hook, Percy; you know what it iz! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & you in tha zone, all tha way, here… Good, I guess…? Glad you focused; this joint ain’t that bad fa me, overall… Hearin’ you rap on tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ slightly betta; sounds like you’re givin’ these bitches a humorous ride… Tha flow toward tha end of tha 2nd verse was a lil’ on tha catchy side; I like how you feel like these jointz gon be big. Keep achievin’ & we’ll keep achievin’ & achievin’, ya heard me?! My Rating: 3.8

04. “Sandy”
Trippy that this track iz 112 seconds long (1:52); 112 iz tha route on Long Island, NY, where I grew up at. Also, tha title, “Sandy”, gon be a whole decade since it struck Long Island! Crazy thang iz, it was tha day after I first heard of you!! Crazy tymes! Anyway, let’s get it wit dis one!! >>> Sounds like a sunny-type vibe & you even mention “Miami” on tha verse, here… “I know I’m tha shit ‘cause I got evidence”; fuckin’ well right, Percy! You know I got all my “evidence” of my life, over tha years! Feelin’ your consistent rhymes, here, includin’ all tha “common sense” parts… Yeah, “keep dem toolies on [you], like no apostrophe”; fuckin’ well right, Percy!! My Rating: 4.1

05. “OK”
Producer: HardBody
S/O to QC! “Okay?,” that iz! Anyway, lookin’ forward ta hearin’ what you got ta say on an “OK”, “okay?” Lol! >>> Intro in tha beat kinda sounds like a country guitar, again—ahh, a HardBody production, here. I think this iz way too poppy for what I’d expect from him; coulda used betta sounds, like, B.R. ones!! A whole 100.00% B.R. ones!! Hearin’ you rap on tha 1st verse, tho, sounds dope with your consistency; can’t deny it! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty cool with you with tha “OK, OK”; you even got a 2nd verse comin’ along! Hearin’ what you got on tha 2nd verse & it sounds nice ta hear; diggin’ how you switch your flow, once again! My Rating: 3.5

½tyme: I fucks wit this, in a way; pretty-good start, so far, with a 4.1 average rating…! How will you continue ta bring out tha CERTIFIED in Certified?! Lemme hear, lemme hear! Keep it comin’! I have to point out, tho, that last year, while I wrote you in jail, I love that I had a withdrawal of wantin’ ta hear you tell me, from back on September 18, 2015, “Your work ethic, man; you don’t… You consistent as a ma’fucka, man…”. That shit alwayz hits me good in tha heart ‘cause you gave me tha birth of Frank Calhoune shortly after, on November 2, 2015! That’s why, I love you for life & consider you one of my favorite Baton Rouge rappers, people, etc. of all tyme! Keep gettin’ it in, bruh! 8/18 fa lyfe!!

06. “Blue Dress”
Neva got ta really peep it out, so I saved tha peepin’ out fa here. >>> Sounds nice with tha saxophone in tha beginning, throughout tha beat… I’ono how I can react to your voice in tha intro, just yet… Okay, at least your voice iz normal on tha 1st verse, here; sounds like you’re really inta this bitch, here… Basically, just a lovable anthem fa tha ladies in a “Blue Dress”; I’ll leave it at dat. Sounds like you’re gettin’ really wrapped in tha words “someone else,” randomly; lol, 6x? Sounds good with what you bringin’ to tha table for tha ladies, once again… I luv that you got all Xanned out toward tha near-end, too! Gots to feel some sorta vibe, ya feel me? My Rating: 3.2

07. “Yeah With The Yeah”
Sometymes, I catch a post when I need to catch a post, these dayz. When it came ta this track, I had ta peep out tha video & show tha track luv, ya feel me?! “Mechanic wit da tool, bitch! I’m yeah with tha yeah-yeah!” Luv how you come through on tha beat, fa tha streetz & strictly ‘bout dat “Yeah With The Yeah”!! “Yeah”!! Glad I got ta take tha month of May out ta show dis track luv, all month long! It’s still goin’ fa tha next two dayz, too! Go, Percy! #YeahWithTheYeahChallenge commercial series! Luv how you focused & unstoppable on tha 1st verse, ya heard me?! Gotta ride “thru tha city”!! Gotta luv your focus on tha 2nd verse, too; yeah! All about tha “shit” that tha street luvaz can only relate to! Gangsta-ass shit toward tha near-end of tha 2nd verse, courtesy of gettin’ “kilt” fa a “low” price! Deep… My Current Rating: 4.7

08. “Sideways”
Fa only 113 seconds, I guess this’ll just be a ladies-type track that’ll just fly on by? >>> Kickin’ it off with tha “cash”-countin’; hmm… I dig tha strength in tha “weed,” too, ya heard me?! “Can’t go a millisecond without that 9mm”; fuckin’ well right! Keep on “shmokin’,” Percy! “Turn dem bitches ta fractions”; fuckin’ well right! Tha rest of this shit’s nice ta hear, here; good shit, Percy!! My Rating: 4.4

09. “Me & My Girlfriend”
>>> You pushin’ ‘em to “listen to dis bitch in tha car,” huh? Kinda sounds like you’re remakin’, here; not bad with tha hook… Lol @ tha 1st verse: “Lotta sound effects when we together.” Sounds like okay rhymes; can’t really say too much about ‘em… You really inta tha “pussy” & all dat throughout tha 2nd verse, too; keep gettin’ ‘em, Percy! Hope you tryna live your best life, atm… Feelin’ tha bass toward tha end…! My Rating: 3.8

10. “Up Shit” feat. Doja
Can’t…wait…ta…hear…dis…“shit”! >>> Sounds a lil’ creepy in tha beginning, based off this vibe? An extra voice? A feature? EDIT: Oh, now I see it: Doja! I’ono what ta make outta dis; I just hear you vocalizin’ in tha background… Aight, hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it’s pretty dope; “good-ass weed, I blow dat!” Fuckin’ well right; you already know how I blow on dat shit! Sounds like a fast-type of flow outta nowhere, on your 1st verse; cool, I’d say… Hearin’ tha Doja dude on tha 2nd verse & he definitely focused fa tha “B.R.”! Gotta feel tha vibes he bring to tha “B.R.” table! Great lil’ contribution ta Percy’s archive, here! Endin’ with a semi-yucky lil’ a-tune outro from you, here. I’ono but tha “pool in tha back” part at least makes me feel more comfortable, due to it bein’ a good vibe? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Nice job, Percy; you put together a nice lil’ effort, here. Tha review went mainly in an average/above-average way, which ain’t that bad. I give you props fa continuin’ on wit dis music shit; it ain’t easy! I wish it was easy to where I can just continuously drop projects like they were nothin’! However, they need they own tyme, ya feel me?! Hope we get ta link again soon & I can’t wait till I contribute my ideas ta you fa future projects, ya feel me?! Fa now, keep on grindin’!
