Boxx The Hungry Genius "All Bets On Me"

R.I.P. Video #69: Big Krucial

Broadcasting from my studio, here in Northeast PA, it's ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog here, sadly reportin' anotha tragic loss in tha Louisiana rap community.

The New Orleans, LA rapper known as Big Krucial passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019, from complications with cancer; he was only 41 years-old. Krucial let Frankie know that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2009, a battle that he was confident enough to continuously fight. Being with Joasin Life Entertainment, Krucial released two CDs in 2010: Crimez In My Nature (Pimpin', Hustlin' & Headbussin'), as well as Return Of Da Deadman (Hell'z Recognin'). In 2011, he was featured on Garyville, LA rapper, Roach Marley's Paper Planes & Jet Fuel, as well as Frankie's Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 7: It's A Baton Rouge Thang mixtape compilation. Big Krucial also made an appearance on Baton Rouge DJ, DJ Tremon's 2016 release, Hottest In The City, courtesy of M.O.B. Entertainment. Unfortunately, on Sunday, December 8, 2019, Krucial's strength lost all battles & soldiered on to Heaven. Earlier, on May 18th, Krucial celebrated his 41st birthday.

01. “Concentration”
>>> Sounds great wit how you want tha “Crown,” here, on tha intro, wit tha rappin’ goin’ on, at tha same time! Beat sounds nice & this 1st verse cool; nice 225 music, here…! Tha “bayou swamp;” swamped-out! Just so entertainin’ wit what you come up wit! Str8 from tha “bayou swamp;” luv that! Crazy that you “didn’t go,” when it came to tha “dirty piss”/“piss test;” guilt… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it sounds nice wit what you got goin’ on; just luv your style/vibe!! My Rating: 4.5

02. “And U Know This!”
>>> Slow one, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & your flow’s kinda dry/a lil’ off? I’ono ‘bout dis one… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s kinda ehh; some of it’s a lil’ off beat? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s kinda boring; just not inta tha sad vibes… Got tha 3rd verse, here & it’s ehh…; too slow, once again… My Rating: 2.5

03. “Welcome 2 Da Grind”
>>> Sounds decent wit this beat & it sounds like you got some good rhymes on tha hook, as well as tha 1st verse, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; keep it goin’… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds like some ‘90s rap—early ‘90s; not bad… Got a 4th verse goin’ on, here & it’s str8; reppin’ nicely fa this Boot state! My Rating: 3.7

04. “Gimme Luv”
>>> Sounds like it gon be smooth… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice wit this dude singin’ tha title, here… Damn; have I heard dis b4? “June 21, 1993,” wit tha penitentiary? That’s my fifth birthday…! *Checks past reviewz…* Okay, Silky Slim’s Ole Superstar CD I reviewed recently, it was tha song, “Ghetto Style” feat. Mydus, tha same date/incident iz in that song; crazy! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay, here; nice lil’ southern slice of music, here… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds like survivin’ a rough time; glad you’re a survivor… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Don’t Stunt”
>>> Why a 6:00 song? That’s too long…! Hearin’ tha beat & it’s pretty laidback, once again; not sure if I can last 360 seconds…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here; a day in tha Boot? Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; can’t complain, I guess… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds okay; glad you luv tha Rouge…! Got tha 3rd verse, here & it decent…; can’t say much… My Rating: 3.6

06. “If I Die 2 Day”
>>> Slow, sappy vibe & hook; I’ono… However, it sounds like a good 1st verse, here… Bloodin’, wit dem “red Chuck Taylor’s on [yo] feet?” All about da red, baby! Also, you “just made 21,” as well? Good ta know you a ‘78/’79 baby, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & I don’t really have a comment for it; this track too slow… Got tha 3rd verse & damn, “12 years on parole?” Crazy…! Got tha 4th verse, here & it’s ehh; why so many verses? My Rating: 3.3

07. “Paranoid”
>>> Sounds like a good beat & hook you got goin’ on, here… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on & it sounds like a good track; nice job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it str8; I like what you bring to tha south, at times… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it cool; sounds like a nice lil’ track, overall… My Rating: 3.8

08. “Bar None”
>>> Sounds like a laidback track from tha west, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; I feel ya, here… Got tha hook, here & it sounds like you got tha hype goin’ on wit this “Bar None” shit; nice…! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; can’t say much… Keepin’ tha 3rd verse goin’ wit dat real shit, here; sounds good… My Rating: 3.8

½time: Afta tha really-catchy 1st track, it seems like this CD’s a lil’ too slow fa me… Only a 3.6-rated CD, so far; I know you gotta have mo ta offer…!

09. “Caught Up!!”
>>> Sounds like tha west, again, or somewhere that’s not Louisiana, on tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like some good shit fa tha real-life situations… Got tha hook goin’ on & it’s anotha strange one fa me; not feelin’ this singin’… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it’s kinda ehh…; not sure how much I can keep this vibe in my interest… My Rating: 3.3

10. “Do What I Gotta Do”
>>> Damn, “Sexual Healing” in tha background, smh? No interest, basically… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight wit tha rhymes… Not feelin’ tha hook; sounds random & off-beat… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it ain’t bad; damn, more than two minutes left!! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it’s that random vibe you’re tryna spit; gotcha. Lil’ shout out list, toward tha end; not bad… My Rating: 2.6

11. “Reasons”
>>> Your vocals/delivery sounds too soft fa me, here, on tha 1st verse; soft beat, too… Tha hook sounds like it’s remakin’/quotin’ “It Ain’t My Fault”, here; good, tho tha opposite of that song’s hype? Tha rest of this decent; can’t believe it’s short! My Rating: 3.4

12. “Organized 2000”
>>> Sounds like an okay 1st verse, here; glad you got more aggression in yo voice…! Beat’s still on tha laidback side; guess you don’t like hyped-up tracks? Tha hook sounds okay; fa tha hood, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; not much ta say… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; nice lil’ hood song, overall… My Rating: 3.5

13. “Bad Niggaz”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ song fa tha old streetz? Beat sounds like somethin’ from tha early ‘90s, here… Hook reminds me of somethin’ from tha west wit tha sample goin’ on, here; not bad/catchy, I guess… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it ain’t bad; I feelz it… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it’s strictly a ‘90s party in tha streetz, wit how you come through wit it… Now, we got an outro ova a minute long; rep it up…! My Rating: 3.6

14. “Throw ‘Em Up”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ laidback vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like you livin’ dat street life, on tha I & all dat, “bumpin’ C-Loc;” nice… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice fa tha cities of tha Boot ta “give [you] luv;” good job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good, as well… Oh, tha 2nd hook leaves tha Boot & goes ta all these non-Louisiana states & cities, smh; nothin’ but Louisiana in my heart! Damn, tha outro, like, two minutes long! A lil’ too long, even tho it felt nice & calm? My Rating: 3.7

15. “And U Know This!”
Radio edit? >>> Yea, it iz… See #2 fa tha review…

16. “Da Ghetto Never Sleeps”
>>> Sounds like a “ghetto” vibe, here; nice lil’ slow beat & 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good; nice lil’ southern vibe fa tha undaground… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on & it ain’t bad, here; I digz it… Keepin’ tha track goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, soundin’ nice wit whomeva you collabin’ with; not bad… My Rating: 3.6

Overall: This CD was a lil’ too laidback fa me & some of it ain’t even sound like it was from 2000; a lil’ dated? I think you deserve some club bangaz…!

01. “Ward Call”
>>> Diggin’ tha bounce vibe & this hook official! “Ward call, y’all;” lol @ tha “y’all” part! Glad “y’all” real passionate about dis!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds pretty gutta wit tha lyrics, despite this soundin’ like it for a party…! Hearin’ tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse & it sounds good; nice contribution… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds nice, especially wit tha line, “I got tha ketchup fa ya fuckin’ po’k chops;” deep……………, lmao!! Got tha 3rd verse, here & it sounds like a regular-soundin’ verse; I feel it… Even tha outro has catchiness (“Zero Ward Villains”); luvin’ that voice wit tha “ward call, y’all” voice! Review #1,918: Young Bleed "My Own"

Reviewed on 12.28.2019 (Review #1,918)

Only got two CDs left in ’99, b4 I hit tha new millennium of ’00! Can’t believe I finally made it to tha 2000’s; seems like forever! This next review iz no stranger to tha marathon: Young Bleed My Own, released in 1999 on Priority Records! Start Time: 10:07 PM | End Time: 10:58 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

>>> Sounds like a club-soundin’ (or should I say, “Bounce”) beat, soundin’ “nice,” on tha hook… Likin’ tha N’awlinz jazz/Mardi Gras vibe, too…! Lol @ tha 1st verse wit tha “bounce dat ass, like a basketball…;” good shit…! Sounds a lil’ long but I’ll give this props fa keepin’ up… My Rating: 3.9

03. “Stack That Ass Up”
>>> Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here & it sounds nice fa this bounce vibe… Sounds like a good lil’ hook, too; nice job wit dis one… Diggin’ tha bounce-type lyrics on tha 2nd verse… A “Lollipop” dance, huh? Lol… My Rating: 4.2

04. “3rd Ward Be Popping That Pussy”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ bounce track; consistent-soundin’ vibe, here…! My Rating: 4.1

05. “Get In Place Hoe”
>>> Anotha nice-soundin’ bounce vibe, here; definitely nice ta keep tha consistency up…! My Rating: 4.0

06. “She Got You Hook Wody”
>>> Anotha nice bounce vibe; what else can I say? Consistency at its finest, basically? My Rating: 4.0

07. “Everybody Want To Shine & Ball”
>>> More on tha Mardi Gras-soundin’ vibe fa a bounce track; nice… My Rating: 3.9

08. “Put The Hammer In Her”
>>> Sounds like anotha good bounce vibe…! Tha rest of this CD can be all bounce & that would be nice & easy…! My Rating: 3.8

09. “Was It Good To Ya”
>>> Less of a bounce vibe, here, tho tha upbeatness continues… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice/catchy… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on & tha bounce flow sounds nice ta hear, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse & it cool fa tha rappin’ flow… My Rating: 3.7

¾time: Lots of bounce, here, which iz nice & easy ta review, as this double-disc review seems real long… A 4.0-rated CD, so far; good job & keep it up!

10. “Wartime”
>>> Sounds like anotha nice bounce vibe; good shit! My Rating: 3.8

11. You Make Me Nasty
>>> A nice lil’ Mardi Gras interlude, here… My Rating: N/A

12. “Let It Hang”
>>> I was gonna say, I feel guilty not reviewin’ tha ones wit no words; I just consider ‘em beats… However, there’s a hook wit this one, at least; nice addition & I’ll give it some props… My Rating: 3.7

13. “I Am A Get You Girl”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ hook, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse wit this male singer in tha background & tha rappin’ str8; beat ain’t bad, as well… Tha rest of this not as interestin’ as tha other tracks on this disc, so it kinda bores me… My Rating: 3.4

14. “Be A Baller Like Me”
>>> Really laidback, here, wit this hook, “Regulate”-soundin’ vibe & singin’ voice; not bad… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I’m diggin’ how this sounds fa a “Regulate” sequel… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse sounds kinda boring but it str8, I guess… Mo shit comin’ out tha 3rd verse, here & it str8; nothin’ too interestin’, overall, except for tha “Regulate” vibe… My Rating: 3.5

15. “I Am Gone Gets Mine”
>>> A dry vibe, here…; hearin’ tha hook & it sounds okay, basically… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here… Tha 2nd verse str8; no comment on it from me… Mo shit from tha 3rd verse, here, spittin’ some G-shit, here & there… Damn, this just about ½way ova? Too long fa a plain-soundin’ song…! Hearin’ tha 4th verse & it okay wit this calm flow; that’s it. A 5th verse, here; really? This track needs five verses? Before tha 4:00 mark, too! It’s okay, I guess… My Rating: 2.9

16. “Extra Extra”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ sample of a catbell or somethin’ in tha beat, here; nice shit, includin’ tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; sounds good fa tha hood, here… What’s with tha really-long verse? Lost interest ‘cause it doesn’t sound like it wants to end, despite bein’ less than four minutes long… My Rating: 3.5

17. “Bad Boys”
>>> Hearin’ tha beat & it’s pretty upbeat, as well as tha good hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like a good lil’ track fa tha ‘90s, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good fa this “bad” theme… Got a 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it cool fa tha hood, basically… My Rating: 3.6

18. “Are You Ready”
>>> Lol @ tha “masturbatin’” part in tha beginning of tha 1st verse… Sounds a lil’ like tha Tupac vibe from a while ago, durin’ this review… Tha beat decent; a regular-paced rap vibe, here… Damn, everythang’s in one verse; how ‘bout a hook? My Rating: 3.2

19. “Got To Get My Cash On”
>>> Sounds like we’re endin’ wit a laidback track, here; decent hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; regular-soundin’ rappin’, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it okay; seems like this track bores me, overall… My Rating: 3.0

Overall: Had some consistent hype wit tha bounce tracks but tha hype kinda died down, once I was ½way through Disc 2…
