Review #1,354: C-Murder "Tomorrow"

Reviewed on 12.09.2013 (Review #1,354)

First up for today, I have a review from 2010 that I finna do. I neva knew about this, but thanx ta tha Purple Drank site, I found this. Lemme just review this one and get it over with: TRU Records’ C-Murder Tomorrow! Start Time: 10:11 AM | End Time: 11:03 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

© 2013 CD Review (Review #1,354) reviewed on 12.09.2013 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. The Message
>>> Shout out ta “2 Saint & T Rhythm” fa makin’ this project of yours happen! Sounds like a good check in from you, from jail. Also, nice 2 Saint-soundin’ beat toward tha end! Even a lil’ rap, too; nice! My Rating: N/A

02. “The Life Eye Live” Feat. Verse & AR
I believe this a different AR (not tha one from Baton Rouge). So, I left tha dots outta his name. >>> T Rhythm on tha production, here… Feelin’ tha male vocals singin’ on tha hook, sayin’ some real shit. Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and I’m feelin’ how you flowin’ tha lyrics, here; nice job, spittin’ some real shit! Consistent rhymes from you on tha 2nd verse, as well; really feelin’ how you comin’ through on this!! “They tryna draw a fraction;” doin’ tha math, too! Here comes Verse on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit some nice street shit. I can hear tha street in their voice; it’s official! My Rating: 4.5

03. “Snow Bunny” Feat. Verse & Jason Lyric
LOL @ tha title; I think I gon enjoy this one! >>> A lil’ bit of a pitched voice in tha beginning, here; almost sounds familiar, too… Tha 1st verse from you sounds consistent wit tha delivery and lyrics; good shit! I like how you said, “Shiiit,” on tha start of tha 15th bar! Got some Verse on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit catchy, N.O.-like vocals! Good shit; almost sounds like Juvenile, at times! Or wait, where’s Jason Lyric? Seemed like somethin’ was missin’… My Rating: 4.3

04. “Tomorrow” Feat. B Streezy
>>> A T Rhythm production, here… Wasn’t sure what ta expect, but surprisingly, I’m feelin’ this vibe with B Streezy on tha hook! A nice anticipation for “tomorrow” to come! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and it sounds good; good rhymes… Not sure why this (with only a singer on tha hook)’s 4:43; seems kinda long? Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, also, and I know you hate “pissin’ in cups;” express tha feelings! Tha 3rd verse sounds good, too, as you’re expressin’ how you’re one of tha only ones ta “get a record deal” “from jail!” My Rating: 4.3

05. Massage Parlor (Skit)
Ooh, a skit! >>> LOL @ this! Took a while to get to tha point, but this was nice ta put in tha mist of this CD!! I know this dude wanted ta get it in wit “Samantha!” My Rating: N/A

06. “Bottom Of Da Boot” Feat. Verse & Dofus
>>> A T Rhythm production; anotha hot sound and anthem, here!! Tha hook’s pretty nice wit tha repeatin’ title! Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit a consistent flow. It’s almost like you’re tha N.O. king wit this rappin’! Tha 2nd verse from Verse sounds nice, too; N.O. at its finest, here!! Nice shit from Dofus on tha 3rd verse, too! A nice collaboration, here! My Current Rating: 4.4

EDIT: Ain’t realized I reviewed this joint on September 11, 2010! I rated it a 4.5, so my 4.4 rating now has to go up!

07. “Heartbeat” Feat. Verse
>>> Feelin’ tha “beat,” and this sounds good wit you on tha 1st verse. Got some Verse on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit great rhymes ta “knock [someone] out!” Good shit from you on tha 3rd verse, C; too bad you’re unlucky wit catchin’ charges and shit! My Rating: 4.2

½time: Feelin’ this CD, so far; very consistent! Keep tha jointz comin’ fa tha true listeners, C! A 4.3 for tha CD rating, currently!

08. “See It In My Eyes” Feat. Von, Holidae & AR
>>> Sounds like a good Wild Wild West-like beat, here, for tha south. Tha hook sounds good wit AR on it; anotha nicely-sung hook! C, you’re on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit your “beast”-like rhymes; good shit! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse from Von, here; fittin’ in wit you and your great N.O. sound, C! Let’s see tha 3rd verse from Holidae… Ooh, serious-about-tha-streetz-like voice, here! Sounds real nice, includin’ how AR chimes in, here and there! Yup, AR: “I does my thizzle!” My Rating: 4.1

09. “Neva Look Back”
>>> T Rhythm beat, here; let’s see what this soft start gon transform into… Here you are on tha 1st verse, spittin’ rhymes ova this not-so-bad beat; good job. Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good, too; wow, lots of rhymes! You neva quit!! My Rating: 4.2

10. “How I Live” Feat. Verse
>>> Feelin’ tha beat, here; good shit! You spittin’ that hood shit hard, here! Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse, like that “black panther, sneakin’ up on [your] enemies!” Props fa havin’ this ‘90s-like rap style, too! Hearin’ Verse on tha 2nd verse, and he sounds nice; gotta feel him, here! Tha 3rd verse from you sounds good, too; “runnin’ like a marathon!” My Rating: 4.2

11. Chinese Restaurant (Skit)
>>> Lovin’ this “1 Domino Chinese” place, lol! Nice skit! My Rating: N/A

12. “I’m A Problem” Feat. Puke, Von & Jahbo
>>> T Rhythm holdin’ it down, again! Cool-soundin’ hook, here; let’s see how this progresses! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and this shit sounds nice! Don’t “fuck wit tha wrong nigga,” meanin’, you, C! You always can knock a fucker out! Here’s tha 2nd verse, “delicious like pasta!” Ironic for someone named Puke, lol? Tha 3rd verse almost sounds like Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I.! If it’s Von, it’s a good sound, here; good shit! My Rating: 4.1

13. “Suicide Mission” Feat. Macho & Kis
>>> T Rhythm beat; sounds hot, here! Tha hook’s pretty nice; definitely feelin’ tha vibe of this “suicide mission!!” Wow, tha beat has hot sounds fa you ta rap on!! Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit consistent fiya!! Tha 2nd verse from Macho’s hot, too! Wow, tha rhymes are non-stop, here; gangstaz at their finest!!! “I’ma open you up like a curtain!” Wow! Tha 3rd verse from Kis’ hot, too! Glad ta hear him again, and just like his name, he got tha drugs on lock, too! Glad he on tha grind!! My Rating: 4.7

14. “Make U Cry”
>>> Wasn’t sure what ta expect wit this female sample, but it sounds pretty catchy! At least it’s near tha end of this CD! Nice beat, too; sounds like what coulda been a single! Continuin’ on, tha 1st verse sounds like you had your life in tha right order, but—we all know—jail got in tha way. :( Tha 2nd verse’s nice, too; keep tha topic goin’! Here’s tha 3rd verse, comin’ through, stayin’ on topic; nice and consistent! My Rating: 4.3

15. Thank You
>>> Oh, so tha 1st single was tha first song on here; I see… Hearin’ this lil’ sample-like ending reminds me of tha ‘90s CDs, where they had tha sneak peek commercials in tha CDs! My Rating: N/A

Overall: I thought this was an excellent and consistent CD!! Good job!! Hope your newer music, wheneva it shall come out, sounds just as good and consistent as this!! Shout out, once again, ta 2 Saint & T Rhythm!! Also, your collaborators were on point wit you and your topics!!

Review #1,334: Mr. Marcelo "Return Of The Big Homie"

Reviewed on 10.30.2013 (Review #1,334)

Next up, anotha N.O. supastar—well, more undagroundstar, IMO: Mr. Marcelo Return Of The Big Homie, with Jet Life Recordings! Start Time: 12:57 PM | End Time: 1:38 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Intro”
>>> Beat sounds good, here, and you comin’ through wit some shit ta ride through—yea, through tha hood. My Rating: 4.1

02. “Scarface”
>>> This sounds good. Because of tha title, I thought it was gon sound more darker on tha beat, but I’m feelin’ how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes fa tha hood… “Always,” Marcelo! “Always!” My Rating: 3.8

03. “Bossed Up” Feat. Monsta Beatz
Got some Beatz on tha feature, here… >>> Catchy hook and beat, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and you really “blowin’,” here, lol… Tha 2nd verse iz good, here, and I don’t mind all tha “money” shit, for some reason… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Police”
>>> “Slot machines” suck and have bad odds! That’s why, it’s all about Blackjack or Roulette! Catchy beat, and tha hook (wit dat voice) ain’t too bad… Good rhymes durin’ tha 1st verse, here; I think this iz catchy… Tha 2nd verse iz nice, too; always a paranoid Marcelo. :( My Rating: 4.3

05. “Writing’s On Da Wall” Feat. Fiend
>>> Great start wit tha beat, and Fiend kickin’ off tha 1st verse! Tha hook sounds good, too, strictly stayin’ motivated… Tha 2nd verse sounds good from you, too; it’s all about readin’ tha “writing” that’s “on tha wall.” I guess tha real title’s “Writing’s On Da Wall”? That’s what DatPiff says, but tha back cover says, “Written In The Wall”? Yuck @ tha 15 seconds of silence at tha end… My Rating: 4.3

06. “Joyride”
>>> Nice beat, and tha verses sound good, here. Glad you keepin’ it hood at all times! My Rating: 4.0

07. “2nd To None”
>>> Not anotha “Backstabbers” song… At least it’s just a beat sample and a “what they do” part. Tha verse ain’t too bad, here, and tha singer on tha hook’s not bad, but not listed… My Rating: 3.6

½time: So far, so good. Sounds like every joint sounds good and consistent! A 4-star CD, currently!

08. “Fly With Us” Feat. Curren$y
>>> Tha beat’s decent, here, but I’m likin’ tha coughin’ in tha beginning… Not bad wit tha rhymes, here, and Curren$y comes through wit some consistent rhymes. My Rating: 3.8

09. “JetLife General”
This one came up as #08 on tha DatPiff tracklisting, but I’m goin’ wit tha cover and makin’ this #09… >>> Beat’s aight; rhymes are good… Short and sweet, at least. My Rating: 3.7

10. “Celebration” Feat. Skip & B3
>>> Sounds okay, once again. These beats are startin’ ta be decent for me, and not standin’ out… Tha 1st verse’s good wit tha rhymes; let’s see how it continues… Skip on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some good rhymes. Let’s see what gon remain wit B3 for the 3—verse, that iz, lol! Okay, much betta ta hear a voice like this, right now! Sounds like a big bodyguard, ready ta be resistant to P.A.N.z! My Rating: 3.9

11. “Cruise Control” Feat. Corner Boy P
>>> Beat sounds jazzy, here; nice ta rap on! Good job wit tha 1st verse, here… Damn, tha back cover ain’t list Corner Boy P on tha feature? Good thing for this DatPiff tracklisting… Seems like a really-good “smell” in tha “car” during tha 2nd verse; I feel dat! My Rating: 4.2

12. “Roll Weed” Feat. Dee Low
I know of Beelow, so who this Dee Low dude iz? Tha DatPiff tracklisting says he goes by “The Diamond Man”? >>> Beat sounds regular; nothin’ special, but tha rhymes are aight, here, on tha 1st verse… LOL @ tha 2nd verse, which iz a descriptive introduction to this “Mary [Keyshia] Jane” girl… Catchy verse! My Rating: 3.8

13. “Friends With Benefits”
>>> Now, we get some coughin’? Sounds okay for tha start, here… Really just wantin’ tha “benefits,” here, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha verses, and this iz okay, overall… My Rating: 3.5

14. “Crazy World” Feat. Jason Lyric & Jerkaman
Nice collab ta end this off? >>> Beat sounds nice, here, on a slightly-dark tip… Tha 1st verse sounds good, stayin’ “fly.” Singin’s aight on tha hook… Got tha lyrical Lyric on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good rhymes; not bad… Jerkaman on tha 3rd verse (DatPiff has them in tha correct order, while they’re in tha wrong order on tha back cover). This sounds pretty good, too; nice job wit tha collab! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Nice lil’ CD, overall; this qualifies as a good CD fa me, so nice job, Celo!

Review #1,236: DJ 5150 & Dre + Big Jay & Dow Jones "N.O. To The B.R. 8 (Bayou Classic Edition)"

Reviewed on 12.30.2012 (Review #1,236)

My next review iz DJ 5150 & Dre + Big Jay & Down Jones N.O. To The B.R. 8 (Bayou Classic Edition). I must’ve never been notified when this came out, so I’m glad I’m gettin’ to it now. Start Time: 9:49 AM | End Time: 10:09 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! © 2012 CD Review (Review #1,236) reviewed on 12.30.2012 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Calliope Var “Keep It 100”
I may not remember some of these songs, if I heard ‘em or not… >>> Nice production; nice and focused, as always! Good job, Calliope! My Rating: 4.4

02. Ray Vicks & Lil’ Boosie “Lethal Injection”
My Current Rating: 4.2

03. B.G. & Lil’ Boosie “N.O. To The B.R.”
>>> I don’t really anticipate both artists anymore, since they’re not really underground, but this ain’t too bad. Sounds like a lot from Boosie, and even somewhat a lot from Gizzle, too. Ehh, this passes in a big way, overall; can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.3

04. Kevin Gates “Watch This”
>>> Almost skipped “this;” wtf iz “this”? A lil’ catchy, but too mainstream for me wit tha non-lyrical lyrics and annoying voice, at times. My Rating: 3.1

05. Juvenile Feat. Rick Ross “Power”
My Current Rating: 4.2

06. Young Ready “Whaddup”
This looks familiar; how many times does it appear? My Current Rating: 4.9

07. Skip “Scared Money”
I don’t like tha title; let’s see how it goes wit Mannie Fresh on tha beat… >>> Sounds focused; I like how Mannie did tha beat, here. Skip knows how ta go off, randomly; good rhymes! My Rating: 4.3

09. Sess 4-5 & Keedy Black “I Luv Dat Boy”
>>> Likin’ this; catchy lil’ hook from whateva “boy” or girl’s on tha hook… Sess’s doin’ a nice job wit his verse, and that Keedy person’s even on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit a nice duet, here! Definitely a nice collaboration, bounce style; can’t complain, here! My Rating: 4.4

10. Curren$y Feat. Young Roddy & Trademark Da Skydriver “Excellent”
>>> Nothin’ “excellent” about this; it’s just good… My Rating: 3.8

11. A-One (Wissel) “Ain’t Gone”
A G-Motive beat (G-Motivation?). >>> I guess it iz ‘cause I heard tha tag. Not really into tha hook’s vocals, that much; let’s see how this turns out, overall… Boring flow that sounds like Ross; just barely crossin’ tha okay mark fa me… My Rating: 3.4

½time: A 4.1-rated CD, currently.

12. Lee Banks Feat. Mouse On Tha Track “Laid Back”
>>> Nice and slow; an okay song, overall, wit a high perspective. LOL, an unlisted feature from Mouse on tha 2nd verse? How can you not list Mouse? Don’t people dickride him??? My Rating: 4.2

13. Shell “Ya Heard Me”
Ooh, I neva heard before! Mouse doin’ tha beat, this time; really lookin’ forward ta hearin’!! >>> Very fast rappin’; not what I’m used to fa Shell… There’s a lot ta digest here! Tha hook sounds good; I can even get through tha background vocals, at times… Even more comin’ outta tha 2nd verse; catchiness, at its finest! My Rating: 4.4

14. Down Bad “Shine On”
I heard this one; my top-rated on their Da Final Four CD! My Current Rating: 4.7

16. Dhat Fam “Doin’ My Lit Dance”
I dunno about this… >>> Not too good for a start wit stealin’ “Some Cut”’s squeakin’. Ehh, not for me wit this “money” and “swag” shit. *Skips* My Rating: 1.5

17. Webbie “Finna Fuck You”
LOL? >>> Sounds nice and raunchy, but I’m not into tha background vocals on tha hook; how many people have ta suck dick wit a-tune? My Rating: 3.2

18. L.D. Herb “Letter To You, The Government & God”
Huh? >>> You betta nail it if The Godfather’s sampled! Really long intro fa a mixtape? Sounds a lil’ like tha Sqad Up! song from 2004 I played on my radio show wit tha beat? Ehh, not bad, overall, but too many samples goin’ on… My Rating: 3.4

19. Young Ready Feat. Yo Gotti “Hold Dat Noise (Remix)”
Can never tell if it’s “Dat” or “That”; I’ma go wit “Dat”, but it’s confusing, at times… My Current Rating: 4.5

20. Kevin Gates “Untamed”
>>> Talk about tha most faggiest times of “I’m A Boss” bein’ tha beat! I forgot that this whole CD was 2011; glad I can burn those dayz to flames!! Neva carry a memory from that year or else you’re a fag!! Despite me bein’ bothered by tha beat, I have to say that Gates brings tha consistent rhymes, this time. Too bad this couldn’t’ve been tha other beat. Damn, even tha hook’s good, too! My Rating: 4.5

21. Jason Lyric Feat. Pimpin’ Magnolia “Million Dollar Click”
>>> I don’t remember if I heard this; Jason told me to check out some of his videos a few months ago… This ain’t too bad; nothin’ too special, but at least it’s 100% listenable! My Rating: 3.7

22. Lil’ Mike Feat. Mista Cain & Savage “Flexin’”
Looks like Ville Boy Mike…; looks like a good collaboration but I dunno about this title… >>> Anotha bullshit song about “money” and dancin’; just gonna skim through this! Savage makes this sound like a normal song, but it’s far from that for me! My Rating: 2.4

Overall: This was not bad, at times, but there were a bunch of doozies…

Review #1,215: Jason Lyric "Fit For A King (Hosted by DJ A Bay Bay & DJ 5150)"

Reviewed on 10.30.2012 (Review #1,215)

Keepin’ tha reviewz goin’, wit an anti-Sandy perspective, I have my boy, Jason Lyric up next! Props fa followin’ me on Twitter outta nowhere, too; that’s some real shit! This CD’s called Fit For A King (Hosted by DJ A Bay Bay & DJ 5150), and let’s see how it does wit me on this review! Start Time: 12:32 PM | End Time: 1:06 PM

01. “King”
Y.E. Beatz on tha production, here; let’s see how this shit goes… >>> Wasn’t too sure about tha intro, here, but tha 1st verse ain’t too bad, so far…—wait, lemme make dat one verse, and it sounds like it’s gettin’ betta wit tha consistency; not too bad… Tha end iz startin’ ta sound like Meek a lil’, which I would’ve rather’ve heard that four years ago, not now! My Rating: 3.9

02. “Gotta Get It”
Jordan David doin’ a beat for you, here. >>> Not too bad for tha rappin’, so far. Once again, just one verse it sounds like, and it’s good. Oh wait, I hear a hook and it sounds catchy; keep grindin’! My Rating: 4.0

03. “Might Not Make It”
What’s up wit this title? Phunk Dawg on tha beat… >>> Sounds good, but I think you made an error? You say, “Might not make it,” but tha title’s “Make Not Make It”? I’m gonna fix it ‘cause I said so, lol! Beat doesn’t sound like it would be Phunk; it sounds too much like typical, trap rap of today, which iz kinda boring. But, for tha song itself, it ain’t that blah-blah-y… Tha rest sounds okay; nothin’ standin’ out fa me, but whateva. My Rating: 3.7

04. “Talk 2 You”
Beat by DJ Mathematics; hope it’s good! >>> Ehh, I dunno about a sample (Keyshia Cole); I don’t like (and don’t get) when people put random samples in songs… As far as your rappin’, there’s not much to say; I think 3:50’s a lil’ too long for a song like this. My Rating: 3.1

05. “Play With Me” Feat. Magnolia Chop
Y.E. Beatz, here. >>> Didn’t know what ta expect at first, but good hook from Magnolia! Still, tha same-soundin’ beats of tha typical music of today? Yawn… But, tha rhymes on tha verses sound good, here. If this iz a mixtape, then why are most of these songs really long? Sick of tha Rick Ross-type shit/quotes on tha 3rd verse; what’s with everyone dickridin’ him? He’s fake; no need to dickride tha fake! My Rating: 3.7

06. “For The People”
Yung Mil beat; not anticipatin’ this length! >>> I’m likin’ tha beat a whole lot; tha hook ain’t too bad on this track… So far, this iz off to an okay start; lemme hear tha verses… Good “internet / Jeezy” part wit tha rhymes; I liked hearin’ dat! You sound a lil’ like The Show on this joint wit tha voice; that’s a plus, Louisiana style! Good outro from a different show (lol) at tha end, too! My Rating: 4.1

07. “She Got Everything”
Y.E. Beatz on this one, again. >>> Ooh, real nice beat start; sounds like it could be played somewhere! I almost thought I was expectin’ EDM music wit tha HQ beginning, but this HQ feel’s got me in tha mood! Strange vocals on tha hook, but this iz nice and catchy, flamin’ hot!! Too bad tha length’s 4:33, smfh! How ‘bout 3:00? Why not 3:01? Great job wit your verses; learn to shrink tha lengths of your mixtape songs!! My Rating: 4.2

08. “Crazy Stupid” Feat. Josh Gates
Lookin’ forward ta this collaboration, wit Y.E. Beatz on tha beat! Hope tha length’s short… *Checks length* Okay, 3:13, that’s reasonable! >>> Good job wit tha hook, here; I’m likin’ this beat a lot, too! Good shit on tha 1st verse, includin’ “smearin’ bitches’ lipstick;” damn! Max Minelli start? I dunno about your verse; hate hearin’ tha word “swag!” What happened to tha word “style,” and straight words? This whole rap world sounds like males kissing each other, these dayz, smh! Lyrics sound a lil’ betta as tha verse continues, but I wasn’t all tha way impressed! My Rating: 3.8

½time: I’m at tha ½ point, and we’re at a 3.8 for tha average CD rating, currently; decent.

09. “Woman” Feat. Jahbo
Ben Rosen on tha beat. >>> Ehh, not feelin’ tha start wit tha singer; tha length’s also gonna get me bored fast… Even though this sounds boring wit tha beat and nothin’ really catchin’ on, it ain’t tha worst… My Rating: 3.1

10. “iPhone”
A Yung Shun beat; let’s hear… >>> Not really into tha topic, that much, but it’s a catchy hook and beat, combined. Tha flow ain’t really for me, but this ain’t too bad, either… Some of it’s good, though, wit tha “got whateva you want, holla at cha boy” shit… My Rating: 3.6

11. “She Don’t Understand”
Y.E. Beatz, here. >>> Random intro? Ugh, tha long length again! This iz so not for me, especially since a Louisiana rapper borrowed $555 from me and didn’t pay me back a penny, yet, and it’s almost a year to tha day! Flow’s nice and slow wit tha beat, but I think what would make me like this (kinda) iz for us to do business; money’s tha only answer for me now, especially since I did 238472903842340238940820423948320423904239049023904239402390423890942384902349023 different things fa Louisiana by now! My Rating: 3.4

12. “Worth Fighting For”
Beat Gaterz beat. >>> Anotha one not for me, even though it’s a lil’ catchy; here we go again wit tha males kissing each other-soundin’ hook! I sound betta sayin’ that I’m pickin’ my nose through this, right now… Oh yea, tha length’s a big turn off fa this random song! My Rating: 3.7 (!!!)

13. “Smash Out”
Y.E. Beatz, here. >>> Length’s finally normal, even though tha beat could be a lil’ betta. I think you need some original production ta back you up… Tha hook sounds catchy, in a somewhat-good mainstream perspective… Tha verses sound good wit this beat, too. My Rating: 3.7

14. “I Get Money” Feat. Mr. Marcelo, Jerkaman & Mr. Real Estate
Y.E. Beatz; even though a nice-lookin’ collaboration, I’m not lookin’ forward to a title like this! >>> Bad intro, but an okay hook. Yucky lyrics on tha 1st verse; “money” iz now a reason why I hate certain mainstream rap shit today! Oh, and false-underground shit, too! Even though this iz super-long, at least there’s features on this! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, except tha extended lyrics about “money.” Tha 3rd dude I can say tha same about… Tha 4th verse has a better voice, and tha lyrics are a lil’ betta… My Rating: 3.9

15. “Make You Love Me”
Legit beat. >>> Ehh, not into a sample again! Doesn’t sound bad wit your rappin’ on this beat, though, but tha sample ain’t too much for me… A lil’ long; this prolly could’ve been a minute shorter. My Rating: 3.0

16. “I’m Gone” Feat. M11
Y.E. Beatz; not feelin’ this length! >>> Ehh, this iz okay… I’m likin’ how you’re comin’ through on tha 1st verse on this beat; sounds like you can hold err-body down… Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re too obsessed wit “swag” and that males-kissing-each-other word!! Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, either, but this could be a lil’ boring wit tha same kinda content… My Rating: 3.3

17. “No Worries (Remix)”
It’s tha last joint on this CD, and it’s removed from tha DatPiff folder. Gonna get a 30-second sample; maybe tha false features (Lil’ Wayne & Detail) are why it’s removed? >>> Too Meek for me, and tha others ruin it! Takin’ them outta tha feature! My Rating: 1.3

Overall: Could’ve been better. If making mixtapes, try shortening tha songs—that’s anotha thing: I dunno why artists only make what they call, “mixtapes,” these dayz. It’s like, what happened to albums? I remember hearin’ on this CD somethin’ like, “Rest in peace Lil’ Phat.” Well, last year, Lil’ Phat put out Never Use A Pen Again; if you guys love him so much, why not make an album like him? I know I’m goin’ on about this, but I wanna go back to tha dayz where there were no mixtapes!! I’ll cry like a fuckin’ baby!! But yea, keep rappin’ and stay connected wit me!

Review #1,160: Rudye "Beats By Dr. Dre (The Mixtape)"

Reviewed on 5.25.2012 (Review #1,160)

Comin’ up next, it’s dat boy Rudye Beats By Dr. Dre (The Mixtape)! Start Time: 10:38 PM | End Time: 10:57 PM

01. “Do My Thang” Feat. J Fletcha / Professor Griff (Skit)
>>> Lol, goin’ back to tha 2001 dayz/start of 8th grade, here, wit this “Fast Lane” beat! Oh, tha dayz where there was, like, no gayness! Well, 2012-updated female vocals on tha hook are a lil’ ehh for me, but once you start rappin’ non-stop about your “smokin’,” I’m startin’ ta feel betta, especially wit a 2012 perspective! Good job wit your kick-assness, Rudye!! Fletch ain’t too bad on tha 2nd verse; glad tha character’s here! I can feel tha skit at tha end, too… My Rating: 4.3

02. “Back Down”
>>> Lol, tha dayz of 9th grade wit this 50 Cent beat; Rudye, time ta stand up, lol! Not bad wit tha rhymes, here; I’ll give you props fa rappin’ on this beat. My Rating: 3.6

03. “Gettin’ Funky” Feat. IL Duce
Likin’ tha title… >>> Good vibe comin’ from you on this beat… Lol, an unsourced IL Duce on tha 2nd verse? His rhymes are definitely kickin’ ass, here; I’d give him a 3x plus over you wit this one, here! My Rating: 4.1

04. “Get You Some”
>>> You fillin’ tha smooth vibe, here; lol, those dayz of listenin’ to tha radio stations on Long Island, NY! It’s like, damn, can we live anotha 2001? Such a classic year!! It was tha only complete/full year I lived on Long Island, NY, wit my music taste! Rhymes ain’t too bad, here; I’ll give you some props fa this, overall… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Ghetto Boy”
>>> Lol, prolly tha oldest beat on this mixtape; rhymes ain’t too bad, here, as I’m feelin’ your day-by-day hood rhymes, here. For a freestyle-type joint, this a lil’ long; those other short lengths were better… My Rating: 3.7

06. Professor Griff (Skit)
>>> Sounds a lil’ like yes and no for me; feelin’ tha anti-mainstream belief, but I’m not too sure about how everything has to be in a “grown-up” perspective… My Rating: N/A

½time: This ain’t too bad of a mixtape, so far, Rudye; a 3.9-rated CD rating, currently, which iz a nice rating for a jacked-beat CD.

07. “Roll Up”
Sounds like you make tha mood sound real nice, here, especially wit dat music video!! I honestly didn’t realize how much you luv dat green!!! :) Really turned this into a “smoker’s” anthem!!! My Current Rating: 4.5

08. “Get Money” Feat. Bengie Bee
>>> Oh, beat brings back those 2000s-type memories, here! R.I.P. Nate Dogg! I remember when I first heard tha original version on tha radio; I must’ve had an excited feelin’, to where it was in my top 10 countdown @ #01 instantly! Oh, bein’ 12-years-old was tha shit, and tha music tastes really got into me, still today!! Gotta give y’all props fa rappin’ on this beat, even though tha “money” shit iz really not for me… My Rating: 3.5

09. “Victim Of Lust” / Professor Griff (Skit)
>>> Lol @ tha old sound, for a start… This ain’t too bad of a song, overall; nothin’ for me to say, here… As for tha skit, sounds a lil’ random? My Rating: 3.4

10. “Run Dat Shit”
>>> Lol @ “In Da Club” beat; almost sounds like tha most poppiest beat… until tha Nicki Minaj & Lil’ Wayne dayz, smh. Lol, it makes “In Da Club” sound classic, yet, all them blew up in tha same decade? Oh, I have to admit, I definitely miss those dayz!! I’m feelin’ your rhymes, here; they’re nice and consistent… You even got a outro, here; thumbs up ta tha, “Free Beezy!,” part! I remember I told you about him bein’ in jail; hope he’s doin’ okay! My Rating: 3.7

11. “Freestyle 101” (Jason Lyric)
Just Lyric on this? >>> Lol, “The Set Up” beat, takin’ it back to tha dayz where I first moved into tha house I currently live in! Not really into this typical, 2010s-type rap flow, but tha lyrics are good… My Rating: 3.1

12. “The Red Planet” Feat. Briel
Anotha bonus… >>> A new joint? Long length…; iz that Briel again? Why iz she neva sourced? Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some nice, consistent rhymes, ta deliver to those really listenin’… Tha length makes it sound boring, but at least your rhymes don’t disappoint. My Rating: 3.2

Overall: For a jacked-beat CD, you did a pretty-good job; most people I say, “wtf,” to, but you made some of these jointz sound catchy. Hell, you brought back a bunch of memories wit tha choices, unlike some of these so-called people, these dayz, that pick tha most-popular beats!

Rankings:

11.        “Freestyle 101” (Jason Lyric) 3.1
10.       “The Red Planet” Feat. Briel 3.2
09.       “Victim Of Lust” 3.4
08.       “Get Money” Feat. Bengie Bee 3.5
