Review #1,591: Bic Jack "Everything In House (Hosted by DJ Rell)"

Reviewed on 11.08.2016 (Review #1,591)

Before I go and get fulla dat shit to heal my paranoia, lemme get into this: Bic Jack Everything In House (Hosted by DJ Rell), released last year on his I’on Play Enterprise. For those of you that don’t know, Bic tha leader of “I’on” / “I’ont” to me, since five years ago, when I first heard of him. I even have a shirt of his that promotes it! But yeah, even tho it great to hear more from him, I have to admit, tha front/back covers bother me. Not to mention, I’m reviewin’ this in November. November’s, to me, National Robbery Month, as this comin’ Thursday, November 17’ll mark five years since I lent some random Baton Rouge rapper $500 (paid $40 for a wiring fee & $15 to mail back his luggage he left at my house, totaling $555). I never seen a penny to this day, considered that I got “raped” by tha affecting situation & basically decided to go downhill with my self-esteem. I done changed my beliefs mainly for tha worst & am gettin’ weirder and more different as time goes on. Also, next Tuesday’s DJ B-Real’s birthday, one who I thought was tha greatest in Baton Rouge till he blocked me for tryna promote him hard. Still, after losin’ a brother, gettin’ rich off a job he inspired me to get & shmokin’ almost every day, he still has me blocked! It’s like, am I really tha same dude from almost three years ago?! Fuck no!! So yeah, fuck anything money-promoting!! Middle-fuckin’-finger it!!! Nobody can afford anything!! I quit chargin’ fa shit & make, like, nothin’ off rappers, anymore!! Start Time: 4:59 PM | End Time: 6:18 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Look At Me Now”
>>> I like how this beat intro sounds like DJ Mustard on tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you still sound cool, here… I enjoy hearin’ all this opposite shit that I witness, such as a “best friend” or “a mill.” Tha “they said…” shit on tha hook reminds me of Dre from Cool & Dre’s voice; nice lil’ hook… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and yeah, I been there since B-Real blocked me: “Pulled over!” He wouldn’t get it ‘cause he prolly think I just sit in a house all day, still, smfh!! After this review, I’m gettin’ outta tha house ta get fulla dat shit! Shocker fa y’all?! Good job with tha 2nd verse, once again… My Rating: 4.0

02. “How I See It”
>>> Sounds like that cool Baton Rouge shit I used ta always review/hear… Nice job wit “how” you comin’ through on tha hook! Even tho I like it, I think my predictions have been a lil’ weaker since years ago… Tha 1st verse sounds good ta hear, here; nice job holdin’ it down! Even tho I don’t fuck wit tha “money” shit, just hearin’ tha 2nd verse makes me think that if it wasn’t for DJ B-Real, I wouldn’t have my job. Last time I talked to you, I thought no one was gonna hire me. Now, I’m TRAPPED at my job!! They wouldn’t even accept my two-weeks notice when I was stressin’ too much! So yeah, I’ll be financially stable fa’eva, but I’ll neva earn that importance from people, sadly. My Rating: 4.4

03. “Deeper Than Rap” feat. Dedub
>>> I like how this beat’s soundin’ fa a start… It kinda reminds me of an upbeat R&B track that I’d like… Nice job with Dedub in tha beginning, here; let’s see what you gon bring… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it sounds pretty good; glad you love rappin’… Anotha thing that’s been botherin’ me lately iz a bunch of people I’d support are quittin’. It’s makin’ me realize that time’s goin’ too fast! Hope you don’t even think about quittin’! Great job holdin’ it down, of course! And, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too, as you’re holdin’ it down… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Carry Myself”
>>> Decent beat; decent flow/sound in tha hook, here… You must secretly let tha money rhymes slide through wit me ‘cause if it was some1 else, I’d prolly be droppin’ all 1.0’s / 2.0’s with tha ratings ‘cause it bothers me! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ decent, too; can’t say much… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it soundin’ nice ova this beat… My Rating: 3.6

05. “Take A Chance”
>>> Sounds like a dope beat start but then, it got quiet? It sounds nice; interestin’ hook… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like you got a different flow goin’ on, here, like a V.I.P.? Sounds nice… Your normal rap style comes in at :50 fa 12 seconds; nice blend… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds decent, too, pickin’ up where tha 1st verse left off… My Rating: 4.1

06. “Check Me Out”
>>> This beat sounds betta than tha previous one; really feelin’ tha vibe, here! Hope it turns “out” ta be excellent! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s kinda repetitive, but I can get through it! At least it ain’t, “Money, money, money, money!” No references, too! Nice!! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you got shit goin’ on, here, just holdin’ your hood life rhymes down… Keepin’ it goin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, keepin’ it G at all times! Glad this makes for a good anthem, at least! My Rating: 4.3

07. “Cold Hearted”
>>> EQ Tha Misfit on tha track; I feel tha anticipation…! Of course, can’t deny tha beat and what you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse, here… Yeah, I’ve been less “into Facebook statuses” ‘cause my job be all on me, like, “What’s wrong? Who did what?” Then, you got my hater at my job that I blocked that all my co-workers be like, “I seen your post.” I ain’t wanna get into it with her, ya know? Tha hook decent; nothin’ much to it fa me… And, tha 2nd verse, here, like, how do people actually know of “Mista Cain” iz beyond me! Even a 3rd verse here—damn, this 5:01 on tha length? Kinda long; decent verse… Nice lil’ production behind it but it prolly could’ve been catchier… Still, you got tha rhymes on lock. My Rating: 3.7

08. Thug Love (Intro)
>>> Nice orgasms… Still can’t imagine how people bring that feelin’ outta people without caution… My Rating: N/A

09. “Thug Love”
>>> Beat sounds catchy with that “eeeehn” sound goin’ through it… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t too bad… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s catchy. When will it be my day when I “get that pussy wet (pussy wet),” lol? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice… A 3rd verse, here, and it ain’t too bad, either… At least this ain’t long fa a three-verse song… My Rating: 3.8

10. “Put It In The Air”
>>> Beat sounds cool with sounds that almost remind me of my productions; decent hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like you’re in a different zone with your rap-singin’/flow, here… Or, was that a pre-verse? Hearin’ your regular rappin’ now and I’m definitely diggin’ tha “smokin’” content, here! That sux about that one “on probation.” Despite any kinda fuckery, gotta be aware at all times! Can’t have anything happen to you to stop your consistency! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on and it sounds aight… Tha vibe’s startin’ ta sound like Baton Rouge rap, here, which gives me a lil’ more hope… Almost thought it ended but it continued at 3:52… My Rating: 4.0

½time: A 4.0-rated CD, so far; not bad (that’s good)… Even tho your music may not be tha catchiest ta me, it always has that quality, somewhere along tha line… You still holdin’ down no matter what beat you’re on, as well as tha shit you be bringin’ to tha table, like a boss…

11. “Homicide” feat. Dedub
>>> Beat sounds nice and tha hook ain’t too bad, here; boss shit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds nice ta hear, as you’re holdin’ it down… Once again, I’m hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ catchy with Dedub’s voice… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds nice, too, as you keepin’ tha journey movin’… My Rating: 3.9

12. “My Ghetto Story”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ upbeat beat, here, as it has a lil’ R&B sample in tha background… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice… Likin’ this lil’ upbeat vibe with this “ghetto story” theme… Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice, too, spittin’ that street life ova this upbeat beat… Luv how you say, “Smokin’ weed;” can’t get any betta!! And, gettin’ through life with tha 3rd verse… My Rating: 3.9

13. “Hoes Never Change” feat. Dedub
>>> I like how this beat’s pretty slow… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it soundin’ good ta hear, as you put it down… Hearin’ tha hook from Dedub and it pretty nice… Dedub even got tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ decent ta add a lil’ singin’ to tha verses… Overall, not too bad; decent… My Rating: 3.5

14. “Betrayal”
>>> Sounds decent with this unique beat and how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse… Hearin’ tha hook and it ain’t bad; cuttin’ out tha “fuck shit.” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds decent, too; decent track, as I’m not sayin’ much… My Rating: 3.6

15. “Warm Weather, Women & Weed”
Lots of “W”z! I like “Weed”, but also, for tha “W”z, Wissel & Watson (A1 Wissel & Doe-Doe’s last name)! >>> Beat’s pretty nice; jammin’ shit, like it’s tha “W”est Coast, lol! Nice job with this hook, too; jammin’ shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, how you holdin’ shit down! Luvin’ tha West Coast vibe at 1:05, too! Funky!! Nice shit on tha 2nd verse; dumb shit! Even tho I’m distracted about hollain’ at my cousin about “weed,” right now, lol, I’m feelin’ like this gon be my top-rated song on here! Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 3rd verse, here, keepin’ tha nice vibe goin’! My Rating: 4.5

16. “Certified” feat. HD
>>> Beat sounds nice; hook sounds nice, too… You sound good on tha 1st verse, here, doin’ ya thang… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from this HD dude and he sound like a big dawg; definitely feelin’ his shit! Keepin’ it goin’ wit you on tha 3rd verse and it ain’t too bad; diggin’ what you bringin’ to tha table in a big dawg’s perspective! My Rating: 4.0

17. “Baby Momma Pussy”
>>> Sounds good/catchy with your seductive-soundin’ vocals on tha hook… Nice job wit what you bringin’ to tha table on tha 1st verse, settin’ tha mood fa this fuck scene, lol… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and you sound good wit what you deliverin’, once again, holdin’ it down… I like how this a laidback vibe fa this “BMP!” My Rating: 3.8

18. “Close Your Eyes” feat. Dedub
>>> Beat start sounds pretty catchy, here… Hearin’ Dedub on tha hook and it almost gave me a Babyface feel to it… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds nice ta hear… Not much I can say about what you be bringin’ to tha table, at times; just know you good… Did I miss a 2nd verse? I’ono where my mind at, at times… My Rating: 3.7

19. “Another Missed Call” feat. Deville
I remember those dayz… I done fell off now, so my phone never rings, anymore. Also, if it’s a Louisiana #, I’ont even answer it, right away ‘cause nobody hits my shit up, anymore… >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ beat, here, strictly keepin’ it southern… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you layin’ down tha “dick,” here, just like tha “BMP”… Hook’s just a female, here? Naw, I hear Deville singin’ on tha hook…; decent… I just wanna get my shmoke on, now, so I feel like this gon drag! Tha hook with tha “another missed call”’s tha truth when it comes ta when I used to call err-body in Louisiana. Err-body had a “missed call” at some point! Nobody fucked wit me tough-tough! Anyway, keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, just layin’ tha rhymes “out tha back, out tha back, out tha back!” Even got tha voicemail message thing at tha end, here… My Rating: 3.4

20. “Outro”
>>> Beat sounds nice and upbeat fa this outro track, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds pretty nice wit how you’re handlin’ thangz… Nice job wit how you deliverin’ shit, here; good shit… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, here, just layin’ down tha rhymes… My Rating: 3.8

Overall: Feels like I haven’t done a review with a full length of a CD in a while… Still, you still come through wit some good music… Like I said, not much of it really sticks out ta me as far as catchiness, but you got tha consistent quality comin’ at all times… Now that we’re both in different times of life, I hope we both continue to do our own thangz, of course!

Review #1,207: Bic Jack "I'on Play 2.5 (The Mixtape)"

Reviewed on 9.30.2012 (Review #1,207)

Comin’ up next iz a Dawgmadik Records presentation: Bic Jack, anotha one from ‘someone’s’ label that seemed to have stayed in my life longer (‘cause I keep it all tha way official, 100% of tha time)! Here’s his revamped CD called I’on Play 2.5 (The Mixtape)! Funny how on DatPiff, you uploaded this mixtape a year to tha day (April 14 style) from tha 2nd I’on Play; was that planned, lol? If so, that’s an official attribute! Start Time: 10:41 AM | End Time: 11:06 AM

Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2012 CD Review (Review #1,207) reviewed on 9.30.2012 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “I’on Play”
>>> Feelin’ tha “I’on play” thang goin’ on, here; it’s like tha “I’on” anthem, lol! Rhymes are definitely catchy, here; you really keep thangz official to tha fullest! I’ve always liked your voice a lot on tha hooks of your tracks; you got character in yourself! My Rating: 4.4

02. “In My Mix”
>>> Sounds like a good beat ta rap on; hope this iz good… Oh wow, lovin’ tha character in your X-rated rhymes!! Real nice job wit this track, includin’ tha beat choice! I like tha “you cool” shit on tha hook; tell them haterz off! Huh? What happened to tha 2nd verse? At 1:42, it just skipped to tha next hook… Even though fucked up for a “mix” (lol), this joint’s definitely hot! My Rating: 4.3

03. “Ask About Me” Feat. Louisiana Ca$h
I remember you tellin’ me you’re cool wit Louisiana Ca$h; let’s hear this collaboration! >>> Sounds like a gutta BR-type song wit tha hook and possibly, original production; really stabbin’ caution inta tha listeners/haterz on tha 2nd ½ of tha hook! Definitely nice job wit tha rhymes and what you’re spittin’, here, on tha 1st verse!! Hearin’ Ca$h on tha 2nd verse, and he’s got a future for tha haterz wit this “found in a ditch” shit; definitely some catchy shit, includin’ how he random will “stick dick up in [their] girl!” My Rating: 4.5

04. “Respect Me”
>>> I’on know why I thought that was T.I. in tha beginning wit dat voice, lol; you and your catchy voice! Ooh, smoothin’ tha hook a lil’ bit out wit a sing-rap style; I’m actually feelin’ this! “Label only gave me one stack to drop beats and do hooks;” this liine reminded me of somethin’, whether it has ta do wit it or not. Either way, doesn’t it feel shitty to get ditched, randomly? I’m guilty of this! :( Sometimes, freebies can be a curse! But, good job wit tha verses and how you’re comin’ through fa those that should “respect [you]!” My Rating: 4.1

05. “When I Want Some”
>>> Sounds a lil’ quieter here…; can I picture tha dark? Oh, sex wit tha dark! Not much goin’ on wit tha hook? Guess it’s a quieter sex song? Or, was that just an intermission? Not too bad, overall… My Rating: 3.7

06. “I’on Owe A Nigga Shit”
Love tha title! >>> Jammin’ start; “I must be smellin’ myself!” LOL, Jack and your style! Feelin’ tha attitude on tha hook; gutta “shit” wit a gutta mouth! “All you gon want fa Christmas iz fo’ front teeth;” whoa! Glad you got some sort of an attitude goin’ on here, when it comes ta wantin’ ta punch a dude out! My Rating: 4.3

07. “It’s Safe To Say” Feat. D Dub
D Dub not on tha feature, but on tha DatPiff information, so I’ll know to put him in tha feature! >>> Sounds a lil’ smooth; not too bad, overall… I like how you’re descriptive wit your “sex” rhymes… Hook doesn’t sound too bad for a singer bein’ on it. However, shouldn’t this be, like, tha final song on tha mixtape? Almost a lil’ long, too, for a mixtape. My Rating: 3.6

08. “Ain’t Gott’em All”
>>> Sounds like a catchy song; nothin’ too much ta say about tha rhymes you spittin’, here; tha hook’s a good, catchy hook, though. My Rating: 3.9

½time: Nice job, Jack; keep up tha great work, Dawgmadik style! 4.1 for tha CD rating, currently!

09. “Streets Keep Holdin’ Me Back” Feat. Deville
Deville on tha feature (not listed on back cover)… >>> Sounds like an interestin’ mix between singin’ and some street content. Glad to have a vacationin’-Jack doin’ tha damn thang wit enjoyin’ himself; thumbs up ta you, Jack!  My Rating: 3.8
EDIT: This was 8 seconds ‘til I resaved it; now, tha length iz back to normal.

10. “Thuggin’”
>>> I can’t agree wit people chargin’ “for a feature;” features should be based off of mutual friendships, not money! Nobody should rap for tha money! Anyway, likin’ this “thuggin’” hook; keep this shit up wit your character and attitude! My Rating: 4.2

11. “Goin’ All Out” Feat. Dirty Harry
Interestin’ collaboration… >>> Interestin’ singin’ on tha hook; sounds like this gon be an anthem for tha streetz, where you at! Sounds like you’re ready ta invite a “bitch” ova and get it on, lol! As far as Dirty Harry, I’m likin’ his “attitude” and how it’s on some I’on Play-type shit! My Rating: 4.2

12. “Thinkin’ It’s A Joke”
>>> Stuck in some good “pussy”? Sounds like an interestin’ trap, like a bee hive, lol! Not bad wit all these rhymes, overall; glad you’re not “a joke!” My Rating: 3.9

13. “You Da 1 For Me”
>>> Ehh, a lil’ poppy for me wit tha rhymes, even though you’re tryin’ ta pursue an R&B vibe, here… My Rating: 3.3

14. “Another Way Out” Feat. J.R.
>>> Nice beat start; I guess J.R. bein’ on tha feature helps tha anticipation out, here? Tha hook sounds good, but no need to have a “way out” ‘cause tha “dope game” seems to be why your rhymes are good… Either way, nice job wit your two verses and J.R. makes a nice appearance here, too! Thumbs up fa his history in tha streetz ta come through fa this track! We’re all like tha ones that got left out, if you know what I mean! :( But, it seems to be betta to be left out than have someone control you! My Rating: 4.2

15. “Gangsta & Pimp’d Out”
>>> Nice “gangsta & pimp’d out” vibe, here! Beat’s nice and slower, as well as you showin’ off what you “be ‘bout!” You and your “gangsta” rhymes; gotta luv it! Maybe, we’ll see some action on a video real soon? My Rating: 4.1

16. “My Own Thang”
>>> Why did tha beginning sound cut off? Iz this one of those songs that got screwed up again? I remember havin’ to re-save tha song in an audio-editing program for it to add in my iTunes; weird… But, this ain’t too bad for a joint, overall; good for an ending, wit a lil’ bit of a lost, hypnotic feel to it? Glad you ‘bout your “own thang!” My Rating: 4.0

Overall: I like how you didn’t put any songs from tha I’on Play 2 on here; it’s all about lettin’ those faggy times of ’11 go, and I’m glad you agree wit me! Keep grindin’, my boy!

Rankings:

16.       “You Da 1 For Me” 3.3
15.       “It’s Safe To Say” Feat. D Dub 3.6

Review #1,112: FrankieThaLuckyDog Presents "Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 7: It's A Baton Rouge Thang (Hosted by FrankieThaLuckyDog)"

Reviewed on 12.31.2011 (Review #1,112)

Before tha year ends, lemme review my two recent mixtape compilations. First up, FrankieThaLuckyDog Presents Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 7: It’s A Baton Rouge Thang (Hosted by FrankieThaLuckyDog)! R.I.P. to my brother’s 19-year-old friend, who died of cancer a few hours ago. Start Time: 10:29 PM | End Time: 11:05 PM

If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I already love it. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating! Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

Tha awards are: Most Frequent Person I Talked To By Phone Of 2011 (measured by how many conversations on tha phone I had wit someone in tha year) and Best Person I Talked To By Phone Of 2011 (measured by how long each conversation I had wit someone added up to). It's a one-time award for anyone I met in 2011 (music business and non-music business) and iz very special. For example, this year, I've met tons of people within tha year. All tha people I met won't get this award except one special person so tha one special person defeats tha chances of all tha others, which iz very special!

Extra awards given out will be *CERTIFIED CLASSIC* awards for any song I played at least 100x, playlist awards for any song I played at least 16 weeks on my playlist, and any awards for if an artist broke a record wit me (e.g., longest phone call).
