Review #1,239: Bigg Dawg a.k.a. C-Loc "Old Law / New School (Hosted by DJ Big House)"

Reviewed on 12.30.2012 (Review #1,239)

This next review iz Camp Life Entertainment’s Bigg Dawg a.k.a. C-Loc Old Law / New School (Hosted by DJ Big House). BTW, why tha extra name, so many songs, and why a mixtape? I thought you were about makin’ albums, Loc? Start Time: 4:52 PM | End Time: 5:15 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2012 CD Review (Review #1,239) reviewed on 12.30.2012 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Bigg Dawg Speaks
>>> Good that this has an original beat behind it. Nice lil’ speech; I like how Big House sounds wit that police phone and all dat. My Rating: N/A

02. “Bigg Dawg”
>>> Randomly, a sex song? Who would’ve thought you’d say, “eat dat dick up;” reminds me of anyone born in tha ‘90s when I hear dat… But, this sounds good wit tha beat and it’s nice and quick… I honestly thought it was gonna be about drugs… My Rating: 3.9

03. “Pour Up”
>>> Good production… Sounds good for a celebration song; nice job wit tha hook and what you be spittin’…; get it? Spittin’ ‘cause you poured too much “up,” lol? My Rating: 4.0

04. “7 Figures” Feat. Chico
How’d you collaborate wit these people? I thought I knew more than most peeps in Louisiana? >>> You sound good on this beat; anotha one you can’t deny, even though what’s up wit all tha “keepin’ bitches” lines throughout these songs? I guess Chico’s just on tha hook? Thought I’d hear a verse from him, but it’s still a good collaboration. My Rating: 4.2

05. “Stacks On Deck” Feat. Lil’ Boosie
Oldie!! My Current Rating: 4.4

06. “O.G.” Feat. Bun B & Z-Ro
Why this old-ass song? I was so faggy in ’09!!! My Current Rating: 4.0

07. “Wednesday”
>>> Nice and short length, which iz good ta have. Quick and not much ta say, but it’s interestin’ ta have a weekday as tha title. My Rating: 4.0

08. “Shoot First” Feat. Lil’ Phat
>>> Got Wodieson on tha beat, here… I wish this was more gangsta; where are tha shots, or sound effects? At least there’s special effects, but I thought it would go tha extra mile like a Young Ready song… Either way, good collaboration wit Phat; sounds like he was havin’ a lil’ fun while recordin’ this wit you… My Rating: 4.4

09. “Adapt” Feat. Big Boon & E-Vicious
Big Boon? Am I seein’ that correctly? I thought that was Big Boom… >>> Good for rappin’; nice beat ta rap on and good job collaboratin’… It’s interestin’ ta hear some Vicious in tha 2010s! My Rating: 3.9

10. “Miss My Dog” Feat. Lil’ Phat
>>> Time fa a Mod Productions beat… Fuck, why I gotta hear tha beat tag more than once? Such a turn-off in this fuckin’ 2010s generation!! Points bein’ takin’ off fa dat!! Guess you didn’t buy tha beat from him? But, it’s anotha good collaboration; tha other one was better, since I’m not really inta sad songs. My Rating: 2.7

11. “She Say It’s Mine”
Where’s tha apostrophe in “it’s”? >>> I’m not used ta you makin’ songs about “pussy.” Some of your vocals are questionable; I think I’m just gonna end this… My Rating: 2.5

12. “I Been Thinkin’ ‘Bout You”
>>> Anotha Mod beat; guess you bought this one ‘cause that stupid tag ain’t repeatin’… Bleh @ tha sample; this ain’t good for me… Fuck, neva mind, you didn’t buy this one ‘cause tha beat tag’s repeatin’! Fuck! Gonna be lower than tha Phat collaboration! My Rating: 1.8

½time: So far, only a 3.6 for tha CD rating; a lil’ weak ‘cause of tha repeatin’ Mod Productions beat tag…

13. Bigg Dawg Speaks
Anotha CD where an interlude starts where tha 2nd ½ starts… >>> More about tha “bitches;” I dunno… My Rating: N/A

14. “I Need To Know” Feat. Shyna
That’s hard ta read tha feature; a lil’ small? >>> Not feelin’ tha weak sample, once again… Ehh, I can’t take this one too serious; production ain’t bad, though. My Rating: 2.6

15. “Freak” Feat. Lil’ Boosie
Anybody turn into an adult since? Seems so fuckin’ old!! My Current Rating: 4.3

16. “Rap Star”
>>> Who’s tha female singin’ in tha background? Sounds catchy on this beat, even though it’s nothin’ excitin’… My Rating: 3.6

17. “Tabs & Bars” Feat. Big Wookee & Lil’ Phat
>>> Ooh, Fiona Apple’s on TV right now!! :) Think I got a crush! But, for this song, it sounds like it jumps outta nowhere at cha, between Phat comin’ in on tha 1st verse, tha hook, and how you & Wook come through wit tha rest. See, this iz a real style; at least it makes you sound like you’re from Louisiana! My Rating: 4.4

18. Bigg Dawg Speaks
>>> Anotha quick skit… My Rating: N/A

19. “Neva Been A Bitch” Feat. Young Crucial & Savage
Wow, real old from ’08! I wasn’t even 21 at tha time! My Current Rating: 4.4

20. “Can’t Eat, Can’t Sleep” Feat. Reno & 50 Cal
Spelling errors? “Reno” or “Rino”? >>> Good beat; didn’t think this would be about someone dyin’. Honestly, I dunno how anotha man can have so many emotions about anotha man; how? I’m 24 and I neva lost a non-family member I talked to in person; never!! Yup, looks like it’s a spelling error: It’s Reno; no one remembers Da Gutta? He came in quick, as well as 50 Cal; tha both of them did a nice job wit some random rhymes… Shawty Lo at tha end? Damn, you know this iz so old!! My Rating: 3.9

21. “Anybody Can Get It” Feat. Young Ready
Iz this really old? *Checks* It iz! Damn, 2008? It’s almost like you could’ve lost your virginity by now! My Current Rating: 4.4

22. “Dumb”
>>> I would rather’ve you had anotha “Dumb” attached to tha title so it can be tha song wit Young Ready; this iz too dry, with nothin’ really goin’ on. Well, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ betta, but you’re betta than this… My Rating: 3.5

23. “I Got Dat BNC”
>>> Sounds too much like a mainstream trap song; why? People still rap about “money,” no homo? My Rating: 3.4

24. Bigg Dawg Speaks
>>> Sounds just like a continuation of tha last song, with barely anything ta say… My Rating: N/A

Overall: Are we gettin’ weaker or somethin’? Why were most of tha big songs old songs? Not much into tha new songs; gotta think undaground!! Who thinks mainstream?!

Review #1,137: Big Blaze "1st Shot (Promo Disc)"

Reviewed on 3.28.2012 (Review #1,137)

Gonna attempt to get back into doin’ these reviewz, even though I’m still outside of my life, right now. Two weeks ago, I lost my handycam video camera (silver, that I record most of my radio shows and journal things with), two black video camera cases, two mini DV tapes, and my 8GB jumpdrive, which has my radio show’s radio edits and things on there. :( But, here’s my 1st review for today: Big Blaze 1st Shot (Promo Disc). Start Time: 10:26 AM | End Time: 11:13 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. DJ Rob (1st Shot Intro)
>>> Good intro, includin’ how it sounds. However, I heard a name that I don’t wanna hear; ugh, don’t make me become more lazy than what I am! My Rating: N/A

02. “2 Da Head” Feat. Money Mike
Grind Tyme Entertainment in tha buildin’?! >>> Oh, this sounds pretty hot fa a start, although it sounds like it could be somethin’ from tha mid-2000s? Really hot production, here; hot anthem fa err-body in dat 225!! Gotta luv tha 1st verse goin’ on; must be Money Mike, I assume? Hope I get to connect wit him soon!! Now, it sounds more like you on tha 2nd verse… or does it? Either way, pretty consistent, to tha fullest!!! Nice 3rd verse, too; really fa tha jiggalaterz, but always for tha smokerz, too! My Rating: 4.7

03. “Feelin’ Ready” Feat. DJ B-Real
Looks like a good collab… >>> Nice blend between songs, it seems like; they go together real great!! Great party music fa tha 1st verse, soundin’ like some mid-2000s music, once again!! Likin’ tha gangsta shit in tha 2nd verse, too; “that’s how it go in dat BRC!” :tu Tha 3rd verse’s pretty hot, too; lots of things you got! Seems like you’ve already achieved your goals ‘cause livin’ this life doesn’t seem any better, doesn’t it? My Rating: 4.5

04. “Like Dolphins” Feat. Da Hustlaz
You know this looks like an interestin’ title; I think I know what ta expect wit dis one!! >>> Lol, “jumpin’” goin’ on, here; thought it was gonna be pill-related wit tha title… then again, I think it iz, lol. Rhymes aren’t that bad, so far; let’s see how this gon continue… A lil’ bit of a Rudye-soundin’ dude on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit that quieter, hyped-up voice, but still sounds real nice on this beat. Dog & Tech “Jumbo” shit goin’ on, here, wit tha 3rd verse; sounds like a great verse, overall, since you really know what you’re doin’, Blaze! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Stuntin’ Ass (Remix)” Feat. Level, Ville Boyz, Head Da YG & Lil’ Feet
Big collab, here! >>> Level said it was “tha remix”? Guess I’ll put that in tha ID? I should… Really likin’ tha hook, even though this sounds like tha non-sellout Level, soundin’ like he 19 or somethin’? Really luvin’ tha hook; reminds me of tha YoungBloodZ Drankin’ Patnaz CD I luved in ’03, how he sounds like Sean P!! Also, tha 1st verse he spittin’; nothin’ but luv ‘round this way!!! Ooh, nice 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, too; mega collab, here!!! Really luvin’ tha 1st ½ of tha 2nd verse, too; dat “stuntin’ ass” strictly goin’ nuts, here, includin’ in tha streetz! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse sounds like Lil’ Head; good job! Gotta luv how err-body be holdin’ it down at all times!!! Endin’ it wit a female; keep forgettin’ about who Lil’ Feet iz… Ehh, not really for this song; prolly could’ve been on a different song, but oh well… Tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse sounds like a younger dude, but there’s a lil’ bit of street shit goin’ on here. I believe dat was Mike of da Ville Boyz? Either way, gotta luv this!!! My Rating: 4.8

06. “Super Throwed” Feat. Cash Flow
>>> Got Young Hustla on tha beat tag, here; ehh @ beat tags, but lemme just hear this song… Really hot production goin’ on!! “Super Throwed” at its finest!! Tha hook sounds pretty nice… Ooh, likin’ tha 1st verse, on a strictly-225 tip!!! I really luv how most of these songs have that Lil’ Handy vibe in ‘em; a legacy that was meant to continue!! I really hope I find my jumpdrive ASAP ‘cause I radio-edited tha whole Lil’ Handy Rap Hustlin’ CD, and I don’t wanna redo it… :( Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too; what else can I say? Nice job on tha 3rd verse, even though throughout most of this CD—I guess it’s ‘cause these songs must be years old—I can’t tell who’s who… My Rating: 4.4

07. “Get U One” Feat. Young Trayne & Dat Boy Kenny
I know this iz a familiar song…? >>> Yea, sounds familiar, but I have no idea where I checked it out… Either way, anotha catchy-soundin’ 225 joint! My Current Rating: 4.4

08. “Beat Down” Feat. Big B Da Hoodboy, Head Da YG & Lil’ Rocket
New feature on tha ID! >>> No comment on tha production until pending thing(s) are cleared up, even though I consider myself tha one who lost, now. Nice job wit tha hook, reppin’ hard at all times!! Tha 1st verse’s pretty gutta, too; gotta feel it!! More reppin’ in tha 2nd verse, too; nice… Keepin’ tha reppin’ goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, too; lots of hoods and guttaness!! Was dat Big B on tha 3rd verse? I thought I heard his name…; either way, if it iz, what a future dude ta fuck wit, on some real shit! Hope a connection happens soon, ya feel me? Sounds like a crazy 4th verse? Thumbs-tha-fuck-up!!! My Rating: 4.7

09. “Anybody Can Get It”
>>> Good lyrics ova a Southern beat, tha only way Big Blaze can deliver it! I believe this one sounds familiar too? I had cleaned up my iTunes library, recently, so I don’t remember what’s what… My Current Rating: 4.3

½time: This iz pretty hot, overall; can’t deny any of this shit, right chea!!! A 4.5-rated CD, currently; it’s all about dat heavy reppin’ fa tha 225!!!!!

10. “Boss Status” Feat. Da Hustlaz
>>> Sounds like anotha hot collaboration; feelin’ tha “status” y’all claim ‘cause it seems like dat when I hear this kinda music! Thumbs up ta dat 1st verse; they ain’t playin’ no games, here! Reppin’ fa err-body when they say, “Suck all our dick,” lol; lol @ everyone’s… Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice, too; all about survival in these Louisiana streetz! Keepin’ this shit goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, too; nothin’ ta complain about, here!! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Let ‘Em Know” Feat. Level, Lil’ Cherokee, Ben Frank, T-Dub, Lil’ Show & DJ B-Real
Lol @ all tha people squeezed in, in less than 4:30!!! >>> Oh, “‘06” style, here; sounds like a good intro, but a betta hook!! Level doin’ an okay job on tha 1st ½ of tha 1st verse; not bad… T-Dub’s on tha 2nd ½, comin’ through wit some gangsta shit on her side; why iz everyone all ova tha place in tha ID? Iz dat Ben Frank on tha 1st ½ of tha 2nd verse? Thought I heard him say that name, but it’s good reppin’, either way… A female on tha 2nd ½? Not exactly sure who it iz, but good, Southern shit, at its finest!! Ooh, got a 3rd part of tha 2nd verse; sounds good from this dude… A 4th part on tha 2nd verse, too; good female (I believe Lil’ Show), fa only “18!” Tha 5th part in tha 2nd verse’s you? Sounds like it, wit a Savage twist; thumbs up! Lol, DJ B-Real on tha 6th part! Wow, really young, here; younger than my current age, at tha time!! Feelin’ how he comin’ through wit that gutta shit; he always be reppin’ hard!!! My Rating: 4.5

12. “I Want That” Feat. Young Crucial
Looks really anticipatin’…!!! >>> Really hot start wit tha description of tha drugs!! Almost a familiar beginning wit tha lyrics, but I don’t think I eva heard this before. Either way, I think tha 1st verse’s pretty tight! Also, tha hook’s hot; tha 225 music I luv!!! Tha 2nd verse sounds like tha both of y’all, and it’s real nice!!! Tha 2nd ½ iz what sounds real tight, wit tha “quarters” and shit like dat! :tu Of course, can’t deny tha 3rd verse, too! This verse’s more on tha gangsta side; gotta luv it!! My Rating: 4.6

13. “Dumb Shit (Remix)” Feat. Teflon Pit, Young Ready, B.T., Young Crucial & Zoe
Looks real tight on tha ID!!! >>> Okay, I know this one, as tha “Pyrex Radio” tag reminded me! Of course, I feel much betta about it than back in tha day!!! My Current Rating: 4.7

14. “Name Rangin’” Feat. Big Ram
Likin’ this ID! Lol, it almost looks like “range” on tha title, but I know what’s up! >>> Hot hook; “dumb shit” at its finest!! You’re on tha 1st verse, and I’m really feelin’ how you sound on this shit, right now; blazin’ up tha tracks!! I’m likin’ tha 2nd verse, strictly “in tha fast lane!” Tha rest of this shit sounds pretty tight, too, includin’ how tha music fades out, toward tha end, but tha hot rhymes keep goin’!! “I was born in tha 80s;” you know what it iz, right here!! My Rating: 4.6

15. “One Slug” Feat. DJ B-Real & Pitre
>>> Whoa!! Heard this before I could even write a preview, and this sounds like some hot-ass ‘90s-type shit!!! Even though I believe most of these jointz are from 2006, it has a real great vibe!!! You sound pretty tight on tha 1st verse; gotta luv tha rhymes, in a non-stop fashion!! Tha 2nd verse sounds like some mo tight shit from you, too; keep this shit goin’!! Nice shit on tha 3rd verse, too; “think about what chu doin’!” My Rating: 4.6

16. “My Section” Feat. Yung Sicka & Young Ready
I know this a song I heard before… *Checks iTunes* Of course, I kept this in my iTunes ‘cause I got it before 2008 ended! You know that was my defining year!!! Originally featured on Young Ready’s Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition), and this iz produced by DJ B-Real!! Of course, I prolly like this much betta than back when I reviewed it in ’08, so you know what it iz!! Yung Sicka soundin’ tight wit how he consistently brings shit to tha table, here!! Tight when I first heard it, but even betta now!!! My Current Rating: 4.7

17. “‘80s Baby” Feat. Young Ready & Teflon Pit
Anotha familiar title? Yup, that same CD, but this was produced by Sims! Gotta give props to Young Ready when he wrote me from jail, givin’ me tha tracklisting and listin’ tha producers of tha songs!! Too bad that and answering Savage’s phone on tha AM hours of November 7, 2008 are tha only things he did for me. :( Thought our connection would go pretty far, but it seems like nothing has started… :confused My Current Rating: 4.7

18. “Hot Spit (Freestyle)” Feat. Beast Boy a.k.a. Benjamin Racks
Interestin’ endin’ wit tha feature!! >>> Hearin’ tha beat intro and I can tell this ain’t tha ’06 dayz… Nice, regular-paced shit from Racks on tha 1st verse; gotta feel it!! I like his character when he comes through on tha mic! You’re on tha 2nd verse, and it’s ehh…, aight. I mean, I know most music today sounds like everyone wants to be at tha top or somethin’… But, either way, good shit, overall. My Rating: 4.1

Overall: A lot better than I expected; sounds like a compilation of older tracks that’s great for others to have!

Review #871: Young Batt "The Statement"

Reviewed on 3.10.2011 (Review #871)

Review #6 for today: Young Batt “The Statement. Start Time: 10:49 AM | End Time: 11:20 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

© 2011 CD Review (Review #871) reviewed on 3.10.2011 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Welcome To The Statement”
>>> Tha volume ain’t that loud, here? Anyway, sounds good and tha beat iz aight… Good “smokin’ on a lotta weed” part; who tha hell are you? How do you do all dat without me hearin’ your music? Tha rest of this shit sounds pretty catchy; really feelin’ tha street shit. My Rating: 4.1

02. “Down Here” Feat. Young Ready
LOL, where’d this collaboration come from? Who are you? >>> I like tha beat start; definitely catchy. Tha content and quality iz pretty nice on tha hook, too; really feelin’ what you be bringin’ to tha table! Even tha collaboration sounds nice; lol @ ‘holdin’’ someone down “doin’ five” outta nowhere! Good shit you got on tha 3rd verse, too… My Rating: 4.5

03. “Same Hustle”
>>> What’s up wit tha weird production? Feelin’ tha beginning lyrics of puttin’ a picture in your head. Tha rhymes are really consistent but I wish this beat was not an East Coast-soundin’ one; tha hook sounds pretty-good… My Rating: 4.0

04. “Hate On Me” Feat. Sabor & Briel
Wonder who these people are…? >>> Anotha semi-weak beat for me and I hear scary background vocals, too. Tha rhymes from you are good; tha hook’s a lil’ scary but at least it’s a female and not a dude. Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty catchy; very consistent wit tha rhymes! Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, either… My Rating: 3.6

05. “I’m The Boy” Feat. Level, Taylor & Lil’ One The Champ
Looks like a pretty-good collab… >>> “T-Motor” beat? Lil’ One’s on tha hook and it sounds pretty good… You’re on tha 1st verse and it sounds pretty good on this beat, too. Ooh, here comes Level on tha 2nd verse; family-related collaborations (between labels and other collaborators)? ROFL, he always raps about tha same shit. “Even tha draws got tha logo;” okay, boxers; that’s a step in a different direction, lol. LOL @ this cockiness… Taylor (Jay?) on tha 3rd verse, soundin’ good… My Rating: 4.3

06. “Tonight” Feat. Tre Virdure
Forgot tha “R” in Tre’s name on tha feature? >>> Not really my style, here, but it’s not tha worst… My Rating: 3.4

07. “Grind Time” Feat. Crucial
No more “Young” in Crucial’s name? What happened to it? Anyway, you know I’m lookin’ forward ta dis! >>> Again, prolly could’ve expected betta wit tha beat but, at least, this collaboration’s gonna anticipate me, still! You doin’ ya thang on dis one and tha hook… Crucial’s on tha 2nd verse and a definite plus fa havin’ him; very consistent wit these tight-ass rhymes and consistent shit he spittin’ ‘bout himself!! :tu LOL, you comin’ through on tha 3rd verse wit some real shit, too. My Rating: 4.2

08. “Girbauds” Feat. Jimi Jump
Definitely a high anticipation level fa dis one!!! >>> Even tha beat start has a hot sound; dun-dun-Gir-bauds <- auds="" bout="" gon="" here="" i="" it="" like="" really="" s="" sound="" spittin="" style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;" tha="" that="" think="" what="" you="">know
I fuckin’ luv “Girbauds” to tha fullest!!! I’m hearin’ tha hook and it sounds different than tha delivery I predicted; real hot shit!!!!! Definitely classic!! Gotta play dis on my radio show and wear “Girbauds”, lol! LOL, let’s hear what Jimi got ta say afta your nice 2nd verse… More on tha ‘smokin’’ tip, lol; he doin’ his thang wit you, here! LOL, even him wit tha “boxers” line about “Polo” too, lol? “Starin’ at my penis;” lots of crazy, random shit comin’ out his mouth wit a joint ‘bout “Girbauds”, lol! My Rating: 4.9

½time: Soundin’ good fa you bein’ unknown ta me! A 4.1-rated CD, currently; keep tha bangers and collaborations comin’ along!!

09. “You Don’t Know” Feat. A-One (Wissel)
>>> Damn @ this beat; and Wissel’s on dis? Dis’ll prolly suck; he’ll prolly spit some stupid, typical-type shit ‘bout girls or some boring shit like dat. :td You sound like someone else on this joint… Damn, I knew it; Wissel sucks wit dis 2nd verse! From tha beginning, nothin’ but boring, typical rhymes about gurls and ‘non-existin’’ shit he’s sayin’ (“textin’”); he doesn’t text like dat, smh! Overall, more distracted and annoyed wit dis; at least you were normal wit dis. Oh yea, no comment on tha boring hook. My Rating: 2.5

10. “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” Feat. Lil’ Mista
Let’s hear dis anticipatin’ joint! >>> Mod Productions doin’ tha beat and it’s soundin’ regular—good enough ta have you and Mista on it. Tha hook sounds catchy; you know what it iz… Some of tha beat sounds like sounds from Bobby Beams “Yesterday”? Nice job wit how you comin’ through on dis track but it’s all about Mista, doin’ tha damn thang, here! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Pocket Full Of Paper” Feat. Hey Daem
“Hey Daem”? Thought his name was just “Daem”? >>> At least your rhymes keep dis a lil’ interestin’; gettin’ tired of some of these decent/below-average beats. Tha hook sounds nice, of course; what more could you ask wit “paper”? Tha rest of dis iz still good… My Rating: 3.8

12. “Product Of The Ghetto”
>>> A lil’ long fa tha start but now dat I hear tha hook, I’m likin’ dis, in a way. Good rhymes you spittin’ on this track… My Rating: 3.8

13. “Pop It For Me”
Just you on dis? >>> Tha production’s a lil’ betta… Tha rhymes are soundin’ a lil’ betta, here, too. Why do people keep thinkin’ everyone ‘pops pills’? :confused Even though I liked it betta for a start, I lost interest outta nowhere… My Rating: 3.8

14. “Time For The Kill”
>>> I think it’s time for a feature; too many of these just-you songs in a row are gettin’ kinda boring… Tha hook sounds more interestin’ wit dis “kill” shit in “time”. My Rating: 3.6

15. “Down Here (Remix)” Feat. Lil’ One The Champ
Finally, a feature, but why a remix to a former Young Ready collab? >>> Still sounds good but I rather hear Young Ready, since One’s aight… My Rating: 4.3

16. “Survivor”
>>> Scary ending; why? Not bad wit tha rappin’ and tha song, overall, ain’t too bad, either. You have a good mind when it comes ta motivation. My Rating: 2.8

Overall: Even though a lot of tha production wasn’t my type, I think I liked this CD, overall, mainly thanx to tha collaborations. I have ta say, to you and F.O.C.U.S. Entertainment, keep doin’ ya thang!

Rankings:

16.       “You Don’t Know” Feat. A-One (Wissel) 2.5

Review #656: Young Ready "High Profile"

Reviewed on 9.11.2010 (Review #656)

Here goes my next review: Young Ready “High Profile! Now wit B.O.W. Entertainment, how will it be like vs. tha former-sign wit Camp Life? Start Time: 1:25 PM | End Time: 2:38 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. 01. Freeway & Rick Ross Intro
WTF? Losing your Baton Rouge style? Why are these dudes here (one Pennsylvania and one Florida)? I guess this iz why you don’t answer me back—successfully—on Facebook? Do I even have ta hear this beginning? >>> Doesn’t even sound real or like Rick Ross? Why iz it just a phone call for tha intro? Betta ask my people about this! My Rating: N/A

02. “Survivor” Feat. C-Loc
Guess this was made before you got dropped from tha Camp? >>> WTF?!? Good beat start but why does Loc sound like this? Worst expected start for a typical-anticipated CD? :confused You sound good—still—on tha 1st verse. But, that hook’s just horrible!!! :td Guess this iz tha end of your “automatic 5-star rated CDs” afta nearly all yo CDs had nothin’ but 4.0 ratings (tha “Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition)” CD I feel iz 5-star rated automatically, regardless of my one non-4.0-rated song). Tha 2nd verse’s decent… Wit only 37 seconds left, you have a 3rd verse too? What’s up wit tha “loratab/xanabar” shit too? LOL, really? My Rating: 2.5

03. “Circles” Feat. Max Minelli
Hope this iz more normal! >>> Guss beat; sounds familiar on tha hook. This iz much betta and normal! “I see you callin’ my phone;” you told me you don’t have a “phone,” WTF? Why you gotta lie to me (accordin’ to a few people I talked to)? Still, it was a pretty good 1st verse and tha beat’s holdin’ it down here wit tha hook. “Fuck dat undaground, I finna go commercial on you…;” iz this CD really goin’ down tha tubs quick?!? Why this kinda sound? :confused Not tha best verse I heard from Max; didn’t even sound like him at first? You’re back on tha 3rd verse here, wit a cocky attitude… My Rating: 4.0

04. “I’m A Problem”
Looks like a Max title this time, lol. >>> Sounds hot on tha beat start; betta stay dat way! Okay, I’m feelin’ how tha beat’s soundin’ and it sounds like you comin’ through pretty nice. “Drop a mixtape every month;” prolly won’t happen but I know I’ll “drop one every 91, 92 dayz!!” Tha hook sounds pretty nice here; gotta like tha Baton Rouge style still… “And then, I got locked up;” no offense, but I kinda wish you were in jail again. That would prolly be tha only way you’d hit me back! Just like you did when you wrote me dat letter I received September 18, 2008 dat made me LUV BR!! Damn, why you gotta say, “your friend request been pending;” why you gotta act like you have online-shit in you? Weren’t you street in tha past? My Rating: 4.2

05. “Beep Beep” Feat. Lil’ Dundray
J Buc on tha beat… Good beat but why does it sound like Delwin The Krazyman a lil’? I think there’s too much hangin’ out or somethin’, which I don’t know how dat’s done… I was waitin’ ta hear this when it came ta review time and here we are…; not on tha female-R&B tip, luckily… Only a decent 1st verse fa me… Dundray’s on tha 2nd verse; not bad wit hearin’ him for tha 1st time… Didn’t think I’d hear tha word “YouTube” outta your mouth on a song… This iz missin’ a lil’ bit of some gangsta shit… I still think tha “beep beep” shit iz pretty catchy on tha hook. But, wit this timin’, I don’t think this’ll be successful fa me… My Current Rating: 4.2

06. “Hold That Noise”
>>> I’m REALLY likin’ this beat this time! Sounds like it’s Q-Red or someone special like dat? This iz more normal fa me! Likin’ tha consistent-soundin’ hook! Okay 1st verse here but dat production’s all consistent here! Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ betta but I’m kinda gettin’ sick of people braggin’ ‘bout “money” and shit when they got like nothin’ most of tha time! If there’s “money” involved, I would be makin’ lots of it from y’all when it comes ta promotion! Tha 3rd verse’s kinda short but it’s straight fa what it iz… My Rating: 4.4

07. “Real Talk” Feat. Crucial
Young Crucial dropped tha “Young” from his name? I know I’ll feel a lil’ anticipation wit Crucial on it! >>> Wodieson beat and it’s soundin’ hot once again! “My click house retarded;” dat’s Dat Boy A’s line! Tha 1st verse iz you? No, it’s Crucial? Doesn’t sound like him; what’s goin’ on here? This iz jammin’ though… You’re comin’ back on tha 1st verse outta nowhere; more “money” shit, smh… “500 for a purp zip;” how do people sell for dat much? Can’t even get people ta buy my commercials fa 10x less than dat/$75! Here’s tha 2nd verse from Crucial. I’m not too excited on hearin’ this; thought it was tha Young Crucial I knew. I dunno but it sounded betta towards tha end of tha verse. Tha 3rd verse actually sounds pretty good fa me… My Rating: 4.3

08. “Street Lights” Feat. Dat Boy A
>>> Oh no, a Mod beat for you and I’m not too crazy about this beginning. It’s soundin’ betta now so there might be a chance… Didn’t really like tha start of tha hook but it’s Dat Boy A. Not sourced on tha feature? You don’t have a problem wit him, do you? :confused Overall, it sounded like a pretty good hook! I think this iz less-undaground from you although tha content’s still strong on tha 1st verse. Startin’ off tha 2nd verse wit “weed sales;” good. But, then you’re talkin’ ‘bout “charges … don’t wanna get into details.” Well, how come you always announce shit on your Facebook? I like to just pretend dat’s not really you on your Facebook like people think I’m a fantasy! Huh? A 1:10 beat ending? Oh, it went back to tha 3rd verse here and it’s still good… My Rating: 4.1

09. “Stand Over You (Remix)” Feat. Vicious & Lil’ Phat
Not this song again; doesn’t fit wit tha Facebook Ready! Goes wit tha MySpace/just-got-outta-jail Ready! I’m assumin’ this iz a remix? >>> Yea, still tha same. Vicious hopped onto tha 1st verse and I would’ve expected someone else on this song, especially since it’s almost two years old now. It’s good fa what it iz, especially wit tha gangsta shit. But, there’s other closer rappers you know in BR! Still tha same verse from you here; I respected it more in Winter ‘08/’09… Same Phat verse too; did I mention, tha same GR8 beat too? My Rating: 4.7

½time: That first song knocked tha average CD rating down to a 4.1; still good though…

10. “Bungy Jump” Feat. Level
Hannibal tol’ me about this song and when he said, “Level/Young Ready,” I thought it was a Level song but it’s your song. Lemme give it a review! >>> This beat’s pretty nice; strong flava in it! I used it in my Shutdown Tuesdays (9.07.2010) commercial and it sounds GR8! Tha 1st verse from you’s pretty good; I always liked your X-rated sex songs! That hook’s HOT! Luv how it comes on when I go on my YouTube at my college’s computer! I like how you even sound on tha hook, Ready; nice mix wit Level! Level’s on tha 2nd verse, “jumpin’, jumpin’, jumpin’,” lol! He sounds like he jacked your flow, lol? LOL, mo Level on tha bridge; sounds nice wit tha mixin’ too! Oh no, you RUINED it on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse wit “she messaged me on Facebook;” WTF? Good thing Dat Boy A’s in tha streetz ‘cause he don’t rap about dat shit! Whether this iz a sex song or not: you rap about your Facebook but neva successfully hit me back? I don’t know why you don’t have interest in hittin’ me up/back when you were really enjoyin’ me two years ago! My Rating: 4.5

11. “Nobody” Feat. T-Dub & Crucial
Let’s see now dat there’s T-Dub—tha female—on this… >>> Still, good production and a catchy hook. Not bad on tha 1st verse here… T-Dub’s on tha 2nd verse and she’s gutta on tha mic! Crucial’s on tha 3rd verse here and I’m likin’ dat it’s about “sellin’” shit; I give it props… Thought I was gonna hear tha hook again but I heard a nice cold ending! My Rating: 4.3

12. “Off My Grind”
>>> Sounds pretty good here… “I charge a lil’ mo;” but, your status iz tha same as most rappers in Baton Rouge! You’re only at tha “I-put-a-CD-in-tha-stores” stage; it’s not like a tour, major label or anything. Tha 1st verse sounds straight. You talk about how people “greet wit fake handshakes” in tha beginning of tha 2nd verse. But, when me—tha real—comes at you, you ignore; why? If I had ta choose which one to like, real or fake, I’d pick real, easily!! My Rating: 4.2

13. “Oops”
I dunno about this kinda title… >>> LOL, much betta-soundin’ Mod beat this time. But, you’ll have ta make it stay dat way! Britney Spears-type hook? Low anticipation so I can’t say much about tha beat. Tha 1st verse sounds betta. “When I tried ta call her back;” but, you don’t have a phone!! Remember? Tha 2nd verse’s straight. Did you say, “my phone card;” I thought you don’t have a phone?!? It’s considered “lyrical confusion” ‘cause back on tha night of November 7, 2008, I called Savage’s phone and you answered; we were on tha phone once before, ya feel me? I’m MUCH MORE talented than two years ago and know like 300 mo people! Tha 3rd verse’s good; consistent shit here. I’m likin’ tha cold ending too. My Rating: 4.4

14. “Whenever You Call Me” Feat. Airee
It’s Dat Boy A’s chick on tha feature; I dunno… >>> This izn’t your style, WTF? I don’t need ta hear tha Pop rhymes! Can’t take this serious at all; where’s tha street shit? I liked tha Nelly Furtado sample song from ’06 MUCH betta than this! That at least caught my attention but this, sounds like you’re tryin’ to go Pop or somethin’… “Three-way calls to my dawgs for tha money orders;” lyrical confusion once again in two “ways” (wit tha “call” and “money” transportin’). Did I mention, tha title can’t be you ‘cause you don’t have a phone! Tha 3rd verse kinda flows wit tha rest of this song too. This iz like a disappointment from you. Good singin’ from Airee but I look at who’s song it iz! My Rating: 2.0

15. “Go Duffy (Remix)” Feat. Mouse & Juice
I think afta tha Facebook shit, this song was like only spins away from gettin’ a playlist award from me; oh, well. Maybe, you should answer tha next time! I guess this’ll be like tha otha remix… >>> Yup, same start here wit tha Q-Red beat. I’d still give this a good rating but this iz like completely dead fa me. LOL, Mouse on tha 2nd verse and he’s pretty entertainin’! But, tha original was fine tha way it was. However, I keep mixin’ my emotions as Mouse kinda goes wit tha title too! Still tha same Zion City Juice verse too… I like tha cold ending this time wit tha acapella of tha title part! My Rating: 4.6

16. “Burn You With This 40” Feat. Juice & Deedy
This iz more you! >>> Yup, tha beat’s pretty gangsta here and it gives me dat 2006 feel!! Tha 1st verse iz pretty nice; gangsta shit here! Hope err-thang iz true, ya feel me? Stay wit these kinda songs! Tha 2nd verse iz nice but where are tha features? Only one verse left! Too bad they gotta share tha same verse ‘cause they should’ve had separate verses! Let’s see who’s first… It’s Juice, soundin’ pretty gangsta here! This’ll be tha best new song from this CD I heard, it looks like… Deedy’s on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse and it sounds good too! Funny about tha “PS3 controller” line. My Rating: 4.7

17. “I Got My Money Right” Feat. Lil’ Phat
>>> Q-Red beat; so far, it’s okay. Catchy on tha hook and a lil’ slow wit tha soundin’ here. Tha 1st verse iz Phat; so far, good ta hear. You’re on tha 2nd verse and I dunno how you deal wit someone dyin’; haven’t had a serious death (in person) happen in almost six years now (rappers like Nu$$ie are pretty rough but iz not an “in-person” death for me). Not bad on tha 2nd verse and tha 3rd verse; sounds like you’re sorry or somethin’… LOL @ dat quick ending. My Rating: 4.1

18. “I’m Just Sayin’” Feat. Lil’ Dundray
Glad ta hear Dundray again. >>> Okay, this iz tha kinda production that grabs me by start! Ooh, tha flow on tha hook’s definitely official here! Reminds me of tha older times! Thumbs up ta Dundray holdin’ it down on tha hook! You’re on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty good here. I’m likin’ tha instant attitude goin’ on. Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good but damn, anotha dude died? WTF’s wit dat? Killing people iz so homosexual; I don’t know why people like to be gay?!? Tha 3rd verse keeps it goin’ although it would’ve been cool ta hear a Dundray verse too… My Rating: 4.4

19. “I Feel Like” Feat. Lil’ Dundray
Okay, endin’ it wit Dundray here; what will an ending song sound like on this CD? >>> Actually, sounds real hot for tha beat here! Reminds me of some older Baton Rouge-type shit! Oh, not that singin’ again on tha hook; go on a verse already, Dundray! I like tha “wit a buzz like a navy base” part in tha 1st verse, Ready. Okay, Dundray’s on tha 2nd verse here, not bad. Kinda sounds like “a beginna” to me. Was gonna say, wit only 34 seconds left, iz there gonna be a 3rd verse? Neva mind, it’s just thrown-in vocals from you, lol. Slowly lost interest in this song but it’s all good. My Rating: 3.9

Overall: Well, you were puttin’ out consistent 4.7-rated CDs at first. Now, this kinda took a toll. But, 15 of 18 songs were 4.0+ ratings so that’s pretty good. I still would like you to keep it real and answer me online when I try to holla at you!
