Review #1,186: Yungin "Smoke Session"

Reviewed on 9.19.2012 (Review #1,186)

Startin’ off tha reviewz for today iz Yungin Smoke Session. Start Time: 9:54 AM | End Time: 10:11 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2012 CD Review (Review #1,186) reviewed on 9.19.2012 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Drop”
>>> Likin’ tha mean attitude; good rappin’, and you’re no longer lil’ anymore! “Free Gates;” guess this iz hella old? I like tha “bitch, you bitch, you bitch” part! My Rating: 4.2

02. “Smoke Session”
>>> A Polo song, yet, it’s called “Smoke Session”? Sounds like some random rappin’; glad your attitude’s here. Sounds like you’re also quoting other people (e.g., “nothing, nothing”). Now, toward tha near-end of tha song, I hear some “high” shit, outta nowhere, lol. My Rating: 3.7

03. “B.M.T.”
>>> “Big Money Talk”? I’m not into “money” songs! At least wit you, you’re not makin’ this song a fuckin’ five-minute song; thank God it’s not even two minutes long! Some of these songs need to be short and quick; good rhymes, here and there. My Rating: 3.2

04. “Wake-N-Bake” Feat. K.R.E.E.M.
>>> Interestin’ hook; luv when a title iz said so many times, as much as possible! Almost thought this was a lil’ off-beat, but you holdin’ it down… This K.R.E.E.M. person’s a dude, and it’s okay; not really into these automatic rhymes… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Kush Talk”
>>> Please, no other people’s parts comin’ outta nowhere! Your rhymes sound nice for a title like this; good job wit tha rapidness. My Rating: 3.1

06. “Fade Away”
>>> Beat ain’t bad for a slow, R&B-type, but no need for background vocals to be in this… Rhymes are okay; not much to say about this. My Rating: 2.8

07. “BASS”
>>> Freestylin’ sounds okay; you’re ready for action! My Rating: 3.5

08. “Louisiana Swag Unit”
No offense, but I’m not into tha whole “swag” thing, especially in names; why tha label name? >>> I see, previously, you called this in honor of “Louisiana” State University (LSU). Anyway, not into this Rick Ross-soundin’ song/flow. My Rating: 2.6

09. “My Swagger”
No, not tha “swag” shit again! >>> Too boring; no more jacked beats! I’d rather hear online ones! My Rating: 2.0

10. “Nothing Left” Feat. Tri’Jay
>>> Tha lady on tha hook sounds okay; nothin’ too exciting or anything… I’m not really into this beat you chose; a lil’ too poppy, and there’s nothin’ goin’ on wit these rhymes… Oh, this Tri lady’s rappin’, too? Sounds only okay for me, but I’m glad to hear a different voice. My Rating: 2.9

½time: A 3.2-rated CD, currently; not bad for you, I guess?

11. “Leaning”
>>> No “money” songs for me! Hook sounds good, though. My Rating: 2.7

12. “I’ma Make It” Feat. Lil’ Dundray
>>> Now, it’s not “Free Kevin Gates”? Odd transition from tha beginning… Good tribute, but I don’t think everyone should “go *insert name* here.” Not likin’ tha Eminem inserted part, outta nowhere; no need to lose more points… My Rating: 3.3

13. “B.A.R.”
>>> Nice and quick; good job wit tha rhymes, here. My Rating: 3.4

14. “Inhale Smoke”
I would’ve neva pictured you as tha smoker, but okay, lookin’ forward to hearin’ that other side of you. >>> Thought that was Zelda in tha beginning…; too bad it turned into Gay Ross, smh. More of a “bow” anthem than smokin’? I think tha verses are more on a “smoke” theme; not bad… My Rating: 3.5

15. “Get Lonely”
>>> No need for inserted voices!! Rappin’ iz pretty good, but I’m shuttin’ it off immediately ‘cause of tha Drake voice! My Rating: 1.9

16. “Like Yeah” Feat. Lil’ Dundray & Price
Shouldn’t have an R.I.P. in tha artist’s ID name… >>> Sounds like a normal song, finally. Rhymes ain’t too bad, here; tha hook iz entertainin’, and tha rhymes seem to hold it down on each verse/person. My Rating: 3.9

17. “No Geezies”
LOL! >>> Sounds funny ‘cause I think it’s about Young Jeezy, but I guess it’s not? Still, entertainin’ comin’ outta a girl’s mouth! My Rating: 3.6

18. “No Patients”
LOL again? >>> Rhymes are good ova this beat; you and your “smokin’” doesn’t get old, but I bet you still look good, despite tha smoke. My Rating: 3.6

19. “Dundray/Wunway”
>>> Sounds good, but I’m startin’ to get annoyed wit goin’ *someone’s name*… Either way, that hook sounds nice for a double tribute! My Rating: 3.8

20. “Superstar”
>>> Good vibe ta end this off; not bad wit how you’re comin’ through on this, minus tha “money” shit… Fuck! What’s that Wiz at tha end? More points taken off… My Rating: 2.3

Overall: Not bad; I like your attitude, but I hope you go forward again. It’s like, you went from original production from Beat Flippa to jacked beats?

Review #813: Da No-Mindz "More Than A Mixtape Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 1.20.2011 (Review #813)

Comin’ up next iz Da No-Mindz, a group by Foxx that’s signed to his Milliyone Musik label. This iz More Than A Mixtape Vol. 1, my review! I’m not 100% sure if this mixtape was released in ’09 or ‘10 but I believe all tha songs are ’09 material. Start Time: 9:18 PM | End Time: 10:27 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. 01. “Intro (No Mind)”
>>> Must be K.T. on tha beat since Foxx gave him a shout out in tha beginning. LOL @ tha “I ain’t got no mind” shit in tha hook; definitely sounds pretty nice wit tha quickness! Interestin’, anticipatin’ group here; glad ta have dat good, Southern shit for my ears and iPod! Feelin’ tha 4-bar verses; very consistent and catchy to tha fullest!! LOL, how many verses this iz? So many!! It’s crazy!! My Rating: 4.5

02. “Something Else”
Foxx and Hollywood doin’ tha damn thang here? Let’s hear it! >>> Sounds like tha typical, catchy Foxx shit here! I could imagine hearin’ this but there’s so much Foxx shit; who knows, lol! Gotta luv tha consistency of Foxx wit tha rhymes! Who’s this Hollywood dude on tha—oh, it’s you again, Foxx, lol. Consistent fa err-body!!! Now, who’s this Hollywood dude on tha 3rd verse? I know there’s a tight Hollywood wit BoRob Entertainment/Hit After Hit Entertainment, related to Gutta and A.u.; where’d dis Hollywood come from? I guess he’s wit Milliyone Musik; very consistent, too! Put tha Hollywoods together and magic could happen! My Rating: 4.5

03. “Check Me Out”
Ooh, Hollywood’s song featuring Foxx this time; vice versa, lol! >>> I’m definitely anticipatin’ this beat start; 225 to tha fullest!! Tha hook’s hella catchy and I’m definitely feelin’ Hollywood comin’ through on tha 1st verse!! Real, real, real catchy-ass 1st verse!!!!! So consistent—from tha swag to tha smokin’ to tha pillz; gotta luv it!!! Foxx comin’ through pretty nice, too; you know what it iz! Hollywood doin’ a nice job on tha 3rd verse, too; crazy shit to tha fullest!! My Rating: 4.7

04. “Chicken Wang”
LOL @ this title! Foxx’s song featuring Hollywood & Big 2T fa this song; let’s hear it! >>> K.T. doin’ tha beat, here, and it’s soundin’ pretty nice fa an expected, Baton Rouge sound! Foxx’s 1st verse was aight; I was expectin’ ta hear tha hook first. Now, I’m hearin’ tha hook and what I expected—Foxx’s character—iz definitely on ‘n’ poppin’!! Hollywood always keepin’ thangz consistent!! Glad he on tha 2nd verse, doin’ tha damn thang to tha fullest!!! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ Hollywood throughout tha rest of dis mixtape!! Now, time ta hear Big 2T for tha 1st (?) time!! Sounds like he blends in pretty good fa a No-Mind, lol! My Rating: 4.6

05. “I’m A Freak” Feat. Rapheal
Foxx’s song featuring Rapheal; let’s see dis one… >>> Although I’m not crazy about tha A-Tune, this ain’t too bad fa an A-Tune’d hook; at least Foxx’s holdin’ down tha rappin’! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Bullshit” Feat. Lil’ Yungin
Foxx has Lil’ Yungin on tha feature! Lil’ Yungin was tha lady that Beat Flippa and other tight Baton Rouge producers produced for! Let’s hear how it turns out ta be in a collaboration! >>> Still sounds pretty good; feelin’ tha catchy hook! This iz a pretty-catchy song. Lil’ Yungin sounds good fa tha feature; she’s fulla energy. My Rating: 4.2

07. “G-Thang” Feat. K.T.
Big 2T & K.T. on a song together; let’s hear it. >>> Wow, how pathetic tha beginning/hook sounds! :td Throughout tha 1st verse, when Big 2T’s rappin’, K.T. sounds like he’s suckin’ on a dick wit dat gay-ass A-Tune on his voice throughout tha lil’ adlibs, smh! Even he had ta be on tha 2nd verse? SMH, this song’s goin’ downhill tha whole way! For some reason, I will like K.T. as a person, since he respects what I do. But, this shit’s gotta go!! My Rating: 1.1

08. “Ace Boon Coon”
Foxx’s song wit Hollywood & Big 2T here, too. >>> At least K.T.’s producing a better beat/on a normal level! Tha hook’s somewhat-catchy. This ain’t too bad of a song; Foxx adds dat good rappin’ to tha track. I assume Da No-Mindz are Foxx, Hollywood, Big 2T, and someone else. Good job from Hollywood and 2T, doin’ tha damn thang to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.3

09. “Winner” Feat. K.T.
>>> What’s wit these different, somewhat-weird-soundin’ K.T. beat tags? Why do people have beat tags? I don’t! This ain’t too gay although I’m not too crazy ‘bout tha hook. As for tha song itself, it ain’t that bad. Foxx always has a plus on every song he’s on. My Rating: 3.4

½time: A 3.9-rated CD, so far. I thought it would be higher but #7 completely made a crash in tha CD. :(

10. “Dumb, Dumb” Feat. Lil’ Yungin
>>> Wow, this iz pretty crazy for a K.T.-produced track!! Anotha real hot collaboration between Foxx and Lil’ Yungin!! Glad Yungin bringin’ buku energy to tha track!! You know it must be nuts ta have Foxx combined wit energy, too! LOL, Lil’ Yungin on tha 2nd verse? Must be her actual song featurin’ Foxx; interestin’. Foxx iz pretty good on tha 3rd verse; glad Lil’ Yungin helps him out wit tha background, too! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Don’t Play” Feat. Lil’ Yungin
>>> Anotha K.T.-produced track; some serious shit here! This iz a pretty-catchy-soundin’ song; likin’ how Foxx delivers tha hook! Good shit right here, Foxx! How great will Hollywood sound? Feelin’ how he deliverin’ tha 2nd verse; gangsta shit to tha fullest! Lil’ Yungin comin’ through wit some tight shit for tha 3rd verse, too! Nice job wit tha collaboration; thumbs up ta K.T. on tha beat! My Rating: 4.5

12. “So Icey”
Like before, fuck this song! Don’t even know why it’s here!! My Current Rating: 1.0

13. “Left, Right”
>>> Sounds catchy; mo good shit from Da No-Mindz!! I like how Hollywood always come through on tha track, representin’ to tha fullest!! LOL, Big 2T iz on tha 3rd verse and he’s in charge of one of K.T.’s beat tags (tha “Young K.T. on tha track” (echos) one)? Definitely ’09; I remember tha sample even used on some shit from tha past; interestin’… My Rating: 4.3

14. “Baddest”
No Hollywood but still Foxx and 2T, lol. >>> Anotha hot song fa tha ladies; gotta luv tha energy!! Foxx keepin’ it goin’ and goin’ and goin’ and goin’, lol!! Big 2T doin’ a pretty-good job throughout tha 2nd verse! Foxx, you’re always comin’ through wit tha tightness; glad you got tha 3rd verse on lock! “Feelin’ like MySpace…;” you know we’re in ’09 right now! My Rating: 4.2

15. “Dirty Dancing” Feat. K.T.
>>> I believe this anotha, different K.T. beat tag. Doesn’t sound like somethin’ I’d like! Damn, both K.T. and Foxx have a dick in their mouth on this one, smh? What trash; why do people still abuse, like, obsess, suck on, erect over, etc. A-Tune, in a gay way? :confused Had to skip all tha way to about 2:23 ta start dis one off. Even though boring and typical, Hollywood’s at least deliverin’ some normal shit. 2T’s on tha final verse and it’s not really for me; lemme end dis! My Rating: 1.2

16. “Work Dat Pole”
>>> Anotha K.T. beat tag? This sounds entertainin’; gotta feel dat hook! This iz a much betta female song; not like tha previous song!! Anotha good collaboration although I get tired of tha “make it rain” shit. :td Kinda gettin’ tirin’ toward tha end; sorry, Hollywood. My Rating: 4.1

17. “Suppose To”
Hollywood’s song featurin’ Foxx, once again; let’s hear it! >>> Tha production’s pretty nice for tha start! Tha hook’s catchy; nice and energetic here! Hollywood’s holdin’ down this shit, whether Foxx iz on it or not! Good, consistent shit he spittin’ to tha fullest!! Either way, you know Foxx’s comin’ through wit dat consistent shit, too! My Rating: 4.3

18. “If I Would Of Knew”
I assume it’s a full-group song? >>> K.T. beat tag and sounds pretty disgusting for a beat start; expectin’ dis ta be skipped or trashed! Soundin’ scary on tha voice; really not bein’ bothered wit dis! I assume this whole song was just K.T. and nobody else; whateva… My Rating: 1.4

Overall: Some songs were not called for but tha rest of tha CD was nice and consistent! Thumbs up to Da No-Mindz!! Keep up tha great work!!

Review #794: Lil' Yungin "Lil' Yungin"

Reviewed on 12.29.2010 (Review #794)

Keepin’ thangz movin’, I have my 5th review for today: It’s a female by tha name of Lil’ Yungin. Her name pops in my head from Beat Flippa’s 2008 “Street Certified” CD. As special as dat was, this self-titled Lil’ Yungin CD then came, in tha same year. Special production on this CD so I’m definitely lookin’ forward ta hearin’ what’s on here!!! Start Time: 4:36 PM | End Time: 5:08 PM

01. “Intro”
A lil’ bit of DJ B-Real helpin’ out tha intro here; let’s hear how it sounds! >>> Sounds good; hope ta hear from Beat Flippa soon! Glad you’re on his Southern Music Group! I like your “he say and she say” shit, like Hurricane Chris would say! You’re holdin’ down tha intro great; sounds good on this beat! I’ll consider it a song since you’re rhymin’ here and there! A lil’ phone call on tha end from Beat Flippa, too; good shit! My Rating: 4.2

02. “I’m Fresh”
Let’s hear this Beat Flippa-produced joint!! >>> ROFL, how childish on tha beat and hook’s melody but sounds hot ‘cause of tha Beat Flippa keys! I’ll accept this! You’re doin’ a nice job wit tha rappin’ here, too; feelin’ like a tomboy, lol? Nah, I’m only playin’. Only tha “red monkey jeans” made me say dat. My Rating: 3.8

03. “It’s My Night” Feat. Lil’ Josh
Lookin’ tight on tha collab here as well as tha Beat Flippa beat!! >>> Sounds good on tha intro; Beat Flippa holdin’ down these intros for you! This definitely iz somethin’ nice; feelin’ tha energy you bringin’ to tha track! I’m feelin’ what you bringin’ to tha table, here; all about holdin’ down a Beat Flippa beat!! LOL, Lil’ Josh comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, not feelin’ young, lol. He keepin’ dis bitch jumpin’ to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.2

04. “Toe 2 Toe” Feat. Bro-Bro
Shit yea, let’s hear dis! Speakin’ of Bro-Bro, one of Bro-Bro’s known producers iz on tha beat: Tyree Neal! >>> Sounds pretty nice in tha beginning once again! Sounds like a jam; thumbs up fa holdin’ tha ladies down! Sounds like some good rappin’ wit what you’re bringin’; not gay dancin’ but catchy on dis beat, in a Southern way! LOL, Bro-Bro on tha 2nd verse, ‘bout ta “chew da whole thang,” lol! Thumbs up ta him collaboratin’ wit you! My Rating: 4.1

05. “Deal Wit It” Feat. Lil’ Cali & Mugsy
What do we got here? Beat Flippa on tha beat and co-produced by Mugsy, too! >>> Wow, hot intro here! Yea, you’re doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook here; really feelin’ it!! You’re in charge, here; err-body stand up ta Lil’ Yungin’!! LOL, Lil’ Cali on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through on err-body’s CDs, lol! Definitely a good connection and you know Lil’ Cali’s got dis shit on lock fa you! I dunno if I eva heard Mugsy before but tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ good from him; good Southern Music Group fam!! My Rating: 4.4

06. “I Gotta Get It”
You know Beat Flippa on tha beat! >>> I rememba dis; sounds like a familiar intro. Yea, this was one of tha ending songs on dat “Street Certified” CD dat was aight. Good thing you’re handlin’ this shit to tha fullest, once again! My Current Rating: 3.9

07. “Do It Like Me” Feat. Lady Lox
Too bad it’s hard fa me ta see some of these features. But, Beat Flippa’s on tha beat again so you know what it iz! >>> Soundin’ real great on tha production once again! I like how you comin’ through on tha hook, strictly holdin’ it down! You have a lot of shit as far as attributes, huh, lol? Accordin’ to Beat Flippa’s CD, Lady Lox was tha feature; I’ll go wit dat. Y’all reppin’ pretty good here, ya dig? My Rating: 3.7

½time: Nice lil’ 4.0-rated CD here; feelin’ tha production to tha fullest!!

08. “Groove With You”
Produced by Beat Flippa & co-produced by Slick Note; let’s hear dis. >>> Sounds a lil’ different. Not bad for a song and tha hook ain’t too bad wit tha singin’. My Rating: 3.5

09. “In Tha Matrix”
LOL, how good’ll this be wit Tyree Neal on tha beat? >>> Weird dat it’s a fade-in intro. I dunno about tha “yuuugh” shit… This iz decent; I’m not too big about dancin’ songs. My Rating: 3.2

10. “I Like Dat” Feat. Max Minelli
Shit yea!! Max Minelli on tha feature and a full-produced Beat Flippa track!!! >>> Yea, dis sounds hot as hell on tha production!! Glad you have a connection ta get Max on tha feature! Tha hook’s definitely some good-soundin’ shit, ya heard me? You’re soundin’ good wit tha rappin’, “cruisin’” your way through! Max’s on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit dat tight shit, as always! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Get Loose” Feat. Tank Jones & N.I.P.
Looks like a tight collaboration wit, again, Beat Flippa on tha beat!! >>> Yea, feelin’ this beat sound; crazy shit!! Ooh, really likin’ how you bring tha energy on tha hook as well as Beat Flippa keepin’ tha beat alive!!! You’re doin’ a nice job wit your part, keepin’ tha club alive! Here’s Tank Jones on tha 2nd verse, doin’ his thang, as always! Glad you have some big dawgs on your tracks, regardless of what they rappin’ ‘bout. Good job, Tank Jones; you always do tha damn thang! LOL, N.I.P. comin’ through wit a near-soundin’ Boosie perspective, lol. I’m feelin’ his energy he bringin’! Although some of this shit may be a lil’ off tha wall, it’s definitely nice ta hear on tha track! My Rating: 4.4

12. “Wild Out (Remix)” Feat. Sam I Am
Uh oh, Sam I Am on tha feature wit Beat Flippa doin’ tha beat once again!! >>> Cool beat intro… Even though I’m not too crazy about tha dancin’, I like dis hook; lol @ tha hidden Sam I Am vocals on tha hook! Sounds like he ready ta unleash himself!  You’re doin’ a pretty-good job here… Glad you know how ta keep thangz on a non-boring level! LOL, Sam I Am doin’ his thang on tha 2nd verse, as always! LOL @ him; he keeps it so consistent! I don’t know anyone more consistent than him on any collaboration or song!!! My Rating: 4.3

13. “Missing You”
A beat from Beat Boy Chill, this time; let’s hear what it gon sound like… >>> A lil’ soft but nothin’ too upsettin’. A lil’ low wit how it sounds but keep tha rhymes comin’… Ugh, tha hook rips off Webbie’s “Missing You” song; I dunno about it bein’ a huge plus but it ain’t tha worst song in tha world. My Rating: 3.4

14. “2 Way” Feat. G Thang & Tyree Neal
I think I got tha list correct. Tyree Neal doin’ tha beat this time… >>> This ain’t too bad; sounds catchy on tha hook, although a lil’ Poppy. Tha rest of it aight but what’s wit tha clean lyrics? My Rating: 3.3

15. “Big Dog Walkin’” Feat. Kidd
What’s this for an ending song, produced by producer Gutta Boy? >>> Ooh, hot ending!! Tha hook’s definitely filled wit energy and consistency from you as well as tha production!! Sounds like you have “big dog” status on this song; good feelin’, huh? I thought Kidd was gonna be Young Kidd Kidd on tha 2nd verse but it’s a female. Pretty interestin’ and she sounds like a young, gangsta-livin’ chick, lol. More clean lyrics? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Pretty-good CD! I know you have tha production on lock; keep in touch wit err-body!
