Review #1,847: Fade "7 Years"

Reviewed on 10.20.2019 (Review #1,847)

My 1,847th review: Fade 7 Years, released in 1999 on Disturb The Peace Records & was produced by Fade & Hooty Hoo! What do we got, here, outta Alexandria…? Start Time: 5:08 PM | End Time: 6:16 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Who’s The Man”
>>> Likin’ this beat start…; sounds like a mix between N’awlinz & Miami beats, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope, as far as tha fast vibes… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice; all about who da “man” iz! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice ova these 120 BPM beats…; good shit…! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s nice, as well… “And, No Limit got soldiers…;” no duh, lol… My Rating: 4.0

02. “Check Da Clout”
>>> A slower, regular-soundin’ vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ okay, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it ain’t bad; kinda diggin’ tha lil’ singin’, in tha background, singin’ tha title part… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ okay; halfway done wit this joint… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ nice; feelin’ tha aggression, this time… My Rating: 3.6

03. “Same Circle”
>>> Much betta, darker-soundin’ production, here… Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear, here; not bad… Tha hook’s pretty nice; feelin’ it fa a paranoid-soundin’ track… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, as well; great job wit these rhymes ova this beat… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s pretty nice, here; feelin’ tha guttaness…! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Wanna Ride”
>>> Tha beat sounds okay, here, but I feel like it gon remake Simply Red (“Holding Back The Years”), on tha hook…? Sounds like a lil’ bit of that vibe in tha beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ like an okay verse… Hearin’ tha hook and even tho tha beat reminded me of tha slow ‘80s song, I don’t hear that song sampled in this… As far as tha hook, it kinda blends in wit tha verses… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it ain’t too bad, here; sounds okay… Tha 3rd verse iz pretty nice, here; feelin’ tha aggression, except how tha “weed have [you] trippin’.” With a dead brother, I get through tha “trippin’” and consider it trippy… I try ta have fun wit my highs than sad vibes… I try and stay away from paranoia or depressin’ vibes… Got an outro, here; not bad… Keep stayin’ motivated fa tha future…! My Rating: 4.1

05. “7 Years”
>>> This laidback beat sounds pretty nice, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and y’all sound nice fa deliverin’ these sad-soundin’ rhymes… Tha hook sounds good; I’m likin’ how it sounds, here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice; feelin’ tha gutta rhymes about tha questions of life… “I wonder who a friend; man, I wonder who a foe;” I remember those dayz…! Now, I’m strong to where I mainly care about myself… Most people turn out ta be a “foe,” while tha “friend” iz hard ta find… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and why was a word censored? Either way, sounds okay wit this sad-sackin’ verse… My Rating: 3.9

06. “Da Hell Wit Cha”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ dark vibe, in tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; great job wit tha aggression… Hearin’ tha hook and I’m diggin’ this “ashes” shit; great job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and y’all got this southern shit on lock… Likin’ tha spellin’ of “F-A-D-E,” toward tha end of tha verse; you know what it iz…! Sounds like a good lil’ 3rd verse goin’ on, here; southernness at its finest…! My Rating: 4.0

07. Intromercial
>>> When I hear certain sound effects in a skit/interlude/“intromercial,” I think of tha scene bein’ inside of a car… Great job wit how this sounds, str8 from tha hood… Also, tha beat’s startin’, here…; sounds pretty good, based off this start… My Rating: N/A

08. “Broke The Rules Of The Game”
>>> As we proceed, this sounds nice; feelin’ tha aggression on tha 1st verse! Dark-soundin’ rhymes at its finest! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s nice! Yeah, “You neva tell on this game!” Since PA wanted to rat me out, nine months ago, it’s time fa me to move away…, to tha south! Oh, just gotta save, save, save!! For now, we got tha 2nd verse, soundin’ pretty nice; I’m likin’ how this dude got all this “weed” all ova him…! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s soundin’ nice, as well; facts are facts! My Rating: 4.3

½time: A 4.0-rated release, so far… Feelin’ tha dark vibes, as well as tha gutta content of an Alexandria “G”, here…

09. Intromercial 2
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ gatherin’…; good lil’ “intromercial,” once again… My Rating: N/A

10. “Fuck Wit Luck”
>>> Sounds like a chill-soundin’ rap vibe, here, wit tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m feelin’ y’all aggression, on tha flow… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty anthemic fa tha south, here…; dat undaground! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice, as well; good shit… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here, on a mission ta get ahead; I feel dat… Got tha 4th verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ good wit tha attitude you got on tha track… My Rating: 4.2

11. “My Birds Fly”
>>> Got tha beat goin’ on, here & it sounds nice; dat undaground, N’awlinz, Louisiana sound, here! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and yeah, “My homie did not do a thang…;” I feel dat line. I can relate to it ‘cause in my case, no1 got hurt & anything lost can get replaced; nothing was lost! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ like a sad-soundin’ topic; I’ono, now… Don’t wanna be depressed when I hear music, so we’ll see how this continues… Yeah, I feel tha “I fall deep in this black hole…” part; I hit rock bottom, earlier this year. I gained strength throughout tha times & now, I’m slowly gettin’ back on track! My Rating: 3.7

12. 1-800-Skandalous
>>> Let’s hear this phone call game… Great job exposin’ these “snitches;” I’m exposin’ on Wednesday, wit my new music video comin’! It’s all about what I was involved in; my exposin’ just exposes what they embrace. It’s funny but it’s real; can’t wait for tha world ta see…! My Rating: N/A

13. “Skandalous”
>>> A slow, calm-soundin’ rap vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s not bad, here… Tha hook has a nice female singin’; I’m feelin’ her singin’, as well as y’all rappin’, too. It’s like y’all both in tha background, at times, even tho her singin’ iz on top of y’all… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ pretty nice; feelin’ what y’all spittin’, here… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ good fa tha streetz; good shit… My Rating: 4.0

14. “6 More Zeros”
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here; kinda plain, wit undaground sounds… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ dope; diggin’ tha aggression in tha voice/rhymes… Tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice, here; nice lil’ voice, flow & rhymes… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ good, as this track progresses… Dude on tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse adds a lil’ more aggression; nice…! My Rating: 4.1

15. “My Life”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ undaground beat, here… Hearin’ tha hook from tha jump and it sounds a lil’ catchy… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and they said, “I been around since 1985…;” they only 13, here? Can’t be… Active in tha music biz that long? Where’s tha older content? I’ono… Either way, a nice lil’ verse… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ nice, as well… Got tha 3rd verse, here, keepin’ this track goin’; nothin’ else ta say… My Rating: 3.8

16. “Worldwide”
>>> Sounds like an okay beat, here; let’s see what y’all got… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good; I’ll give y’all props… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ nice; all about tha streetz! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice wit what y’all bringin’ to tha streetz, here; good shit… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it ain’t bad, as y’all keep this shit goin’…; nice job…! Got tha 4th verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ nice wit tha dark, undaground voice… Got tha 5th verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, as well; great job…! My Rating: 4.0

Overall: Not really any shocking ratings but tha CD had consistent ratings… Felt tha dark-soundin’ beats, as well as what was brought to tha streetz, here. Gotta luv all these additions to tha Louisiana scene…

Radio Shift #100: "Tha Louisiana Pit" (Finale) :: Playlist Of 8.19.2012

Here's tha final episode. Most of tha plays are artists I've never played on tha show before, or have a featured artist I never played. I couldn't get 'em all, but I tried, as well as different albums from those that had already played.
Due to being short on time, I didn't really get to do all tha statistics and all dat. So, hopefully, by tha end of tha year, I'll try to have totals, who set what records, and even have awards to those, "Tha Louisiana Pit" style:
