Review #2,016: Max Minelli "Diamonds In The Dirt" Documentary

Reviewed on 2.25.2022 (Review #2,016)

Happy 2/25 Day!! Frankie here, finna review my 2,016th review: Max Minelli Diamonds In The Dirt, tha documentary that just dropped! I haven’t reviewed a documentary since November 4, 2012; now, I have a documentary to review, again! This documentary iz about tha Baton Rouge music scene evolving throughout tyme; tha artists are tha “diamonds,” while gettin’ it out tha mud iz tha “dirt.” Tha artists didn’t think they had dreams to accomplish till tha music started takin’ off. I had met Max, Sam I Am, Koo Shot Ya & Greg Dukes all on March 27, 2017, while Koo was filmin’ some scenes at Dukes’ studio. I was filmed, too, but accordin’ to Max, there’ll be more comin’ with a sequel, one day! Fa now, lemme see this Baton Rouge history in tha flesh! I’m watchin’ this via tha Tubi app, since it’s currently only available there… Lemme peep tha trailer out & see what’s up… *Peeps trailer out…* Tha BR bridge & “Baton Rouge” levee spelling’s alwayz a dope sighting! I’m diggin’ how Max Minelli iz directin’ this, with his voice & tha footage ta go with it! Looks great ta see a bunch of tha peeps I know & have showed me luv, in tha past & some till now! Like, can we rewind back tyme to tha history? July 14, 2008, when I did my 100th review 1,916 reviewz ago, Nu$$ie gave me a shout-out on Jimmy The DJ’s Gangsta Gumbo, Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass mixtape! September 15, 2008, when I did my review for Kevin Gates All Or Nuthin’ (The Mixtape), when he had it posted on his MySpace blog. I got some good history! How does it compare to today’s value? I’ono, what y’all think? That Sam I Am shot in tha intro, yeah, that was March 27, 2017, when I called it in my intro that I’m still in!! Lol, I wrote that 1st part of tha intro while I was sober & now, after hittin’ my THC pen, I seen & wrote about that day, only I’m still in tha intro, still, lol! Anywayz, can’t wait ta peep out this big release! I’ono, my perspective on some peeps have changed in value since my recording process, last year. Some could be worth an awesome rating but as a bad withdrawal; we’ll see what we got! Reals? Fakes? We’ll see…! What betta way ta start this review @ Baton Rouge legend, M Dot’s birthday tyme of 7:01! Start Time: 7:01 PM | End Time: 11:01 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each scene from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care what’s what! As long as it’s cool and good enough for me to like it! I look for style & then tha storyline. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a scene gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already; if at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I see it) so any scene can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I see tha scene; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha scene while I’m watching it. If you act like anything too mainstream for me, there’s auto-tune or lots of talkin’ about money, hoes & stuntin’ 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! I also don’t go for stuntin’ wit tons of money, non-stop…

EDIT: I dunno if there’s different titles for different parts, so I’m basically reviewin’ this blind… I later had all but “History” without a preview, due to I wasn’t sure where each part started.

01. “Intro” (0:00 – 1:17)
>>>

0:00: Shout out ta Leverage Films (Mista Matt in tha inn, lol—building, that iz, lol), as well as what I knew as tha Y$E to tha Young, Self-Employed… Oh, tha Diamonds In The Dirt iz here…! Shout out ta Happy Perez for tha score, as tha bridge crosses below… Also, big-ups to Joe Mex, Koo & Matt fa playin’ big roles fa Max Pain…! Really feelin’ tha anticipation from tha start! I really can’t wait ta see what we got, throughout tha eras! How will I relate tha best to err-thang? We’ll see what it do. Fa now, can’t wait ta see how we gon start this thang off…! My Rating: 5.0

02. “History” (1:17 – 10:00)
How will we continue from here…?! >>>

1:37: I’m definitely feelin’ Max on tha directin’, once again, as tha BR levee proceeds below! Tha city buildings look awesome, too! I feel like I gon be ready fa a surprise, within each scene/set of footage!!

1:43: Tha LSU building literally looks 3D ta me!

1:53: Awesome evening shot with tha drone, with tha darkside of Baton Rouge’s bridge!

1:55: Wow, luvin’ tha instant attention-grabbers! S/O ta Sav, a.k.a. MobbGod! He, as well as us ‘80s babies, grew up in a unique era. Props fa holdin’ it down fa tha streetz…!

2:13: Damn, that 2016 flood was somethin’!

2:32: Tha crime rate in B.R. too bad-azz fa no reason…! Err-body who wanna be gunplay dis, “I hate you” dat should follow my energies, instead! Examples? Embrace an underground, Louisiana scene fa almost 15 years; review over 2,000 releases, overall, fa 16 years; do my own tri-weekly playlists fa 18 years; video-edit fa 20 years; do my own countdowns fa 22 years & film + act fa 23 years! That’s me, all tha way! But, I’m glad I’m accepted by B.R.!

4:31: Jimmy Swag with that eerie, top-selling value; feelin’ eerie when Max talks about tha “unfair investigation.” Also, crazy ending with that murder of February 19, 1986!

8:35: “Missing Kids” by Reality, bein’ B.R.’s 1st track? Crazy! Even havin’ one of tha Reality dudes all dressed for today’s reality!

9:18: “Yeah!!” to Greg Dukes & tha Billboard-chartin’ Reality!

9:54: Lol, same-shot jump-cut with Reality! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Kyper” (10:00 – 13:04)
>>>

11:08: S/O to Kyper! Tha ‘90s in tha buildin’—tha “club,” I should say!

12:21: Gotta luv tha Billboard-chartin’ feelin’, from B.R.!

12:38: Yeah, those are some okay terms; I mainly knew some of that underground shit as electronica, back in my dayz. My Rating: 4.0

04. “MC Nero” (13:04 – 16:50)
>>>

13:10: “…In tha techno-rap world…”; wow, ain’t realize they was ahead of me but I was only two, in 1990. It only took me a decade later to know about tha unique blending. I alwayz find myself pairing tha two genres together (mainly considered “dance” more than “techno” fa my pairing), as if they were collegemates, ya feel me?

13:23: S/O to Nero! Can’t believe it’s been a whole half-decade since he passed…! Long Live Nero! I filmed tha tribute video ta him at tha Jessup Rock Mountain in Jessup, PA; tha site I now use to occasionally test my legs out, after workin’ out durin’ tha week.

13:46: S/O to Shonta; I remember dat pic with tha Girbaud shirt…! All about dem throwback Bauds! Lol @ tha SSJC @ 13:53…! Lol @ tha “headphone” in tha opposite direction technique of rappin’! That’s tha Nero fa ya!

15:07: S/O to “I Gotta Lotta Respect”…! I just feel bad for him; by seein’ him interviewed in this documentary, it sounds like he was sufferin’ from somethin’. Sad ‘cause he had a “lotta respect” from err-body… Y’all musta got lucky & got him interviewed not that long b4 he passed?

15:48: Damn; tha damn diabetes killin’! Sad shit; it’s what Skull Duggrey’s goin’ thru right now! I pray fa him every night; I alwayz utilize my 100.00% confident, positive energies on him so he can pull through his dialysis shits! My Rating: 4.5

05. “Silky Slim” (16:50 – 20:52)
>>>

17:09: Tyme for The Bottom… Here come Silky Slim, all dressed to impress, too… Bottom Posse ownin’ tha B.R. streetz of tha ‘90s!

18:31: Lol @ when he mentions about tha “white guys”; it SSJCs! That combo goes together, imo!

19:26: Luv tha blurry effect; how eerie! Talk about life-changin’, too! My Rating: 4.5

06. “C-Loc, Da Camp & Boosie” (20:52 – 43:05)
>>>

21:08: C-Loc! S/O to Who’s Gonna Ride?! @ 22:30: SSJC, lol, but tha production aspect was dope! S/O to investing! Also, S/O to Young Bleed!

23:35: Yeah, Bleed! “Concentration Camp” iz tha “Camp” ta be! S/O to referencin’ your group, Lay-Lo, Max!

24:18: Tha world of Young Bleed! Loc knew it was a gem @ 24:41; glad they got they shine! Also, lol, Bleed’s eyez lookin’ up all tha tyme’s pretty eerie. It’s a street, eerie feeling that sends a legendary shockwave to tha viewer…!

26:23: Awesome feeling of ’98 ta know that Baton Rouge was on top of tha world, courtesy of Bleed! Tha gold feeling, too!

26:49: I miss them dayz where err-body would make a collective effort like Camp II: Da Halocaust & collab together… Also, shout out ta J-Von’s appearance; not used ta seein’ him on video so it’s great ta see him till this day…!

27:03: Yeah! Nice ta see Max Minelli in tha booth & bein’ interviewed!

28:21: These dark tymes for Da Camp are dark but they’re awesome ta hear, story-wise. Tha “differences” between Loc & Bleed are unfortunate that happened. However, I feel tha same way about one of my ex-idols from Baton Rouge. Like, you can be a top priority one day, then, those expectations don’t meet & you move on!

29:56: Props fa goin’ your own way, Max; that’s what a leader does! Tha Lay-Lo tyme, courtesy of Max, Von & Happy P!

30:04: When narrating Max’s voice transitions into interviewed Max’s voice, tha sound pops. Wanna get rid of tha pop? Just make a cross fade transition at tha beginning of tha video’s audio clip & set tha transition length ta only two frames. It gets rid of tha pop!

33:48: It’s Boosie tyme! Likin’ tha vintage Boosie footage, as well as tha newer Boosie footage…! Also, likin’ tha hidden mirror in tha newer footage, on tha top-right; double Boosieness, lol!

35:19: That awesome street brew from Loc & Camp III: Thug Brothas! Great mixin’ tha interview with tha vibe of tha Camp III: Thug Brothas! Also, Max chimin’ in, at tymes…!

36:03: That throwback beat alwayz makes me feel like it’s tha beginning of my Louisiana connection, again!

36:17: An audio-pop wit Boosie, lol—a young Boosie, that iz! Glad Max appreciates his contributions to tha game, especially at a young, teenage age!

37:12: That studio session wit Boosie, Loc & Max looks like one of those awesome, young nights that tha world felt carefree & easy. Meanwhile, you ain’t realize it would get harder up ahead. That throwback quality & Boosie shmokin’ a blunt back then = an awesome tyme to be alive!

38:35: When that teenage Boosie said, “I love doin’ what I do,” I look at that bein’ me, my 33-year-old perspective, at my current job. When people can’t understand how I come in at 100.00% confident, determined & positive, I just let it be known that my passion iz at max. level!

39:15: Oh boy, Max! “Just like tha last tyme, trouble was around tha corna.” I feel eerily anticipated…! Damn, Loc; ouch, ouch! We all have our sentencing tymes! Can’t believe there’s a snitch on one of our trails throughout our lifetyme!

40:04: “And, a halfway-finished Boosie debut album.” Deep…, so deep… Tha throwback footage of Boosie looks like he hungry, so it blends in nicely with a “Boosie debut album” only bein’ “a halfway-finished” project! Poor Biggy-Biggy-Boos’!

40:29: Luv how Max would help & take over fa Loc, while Loc was in tha pen! That’s tha real dedication! I alwayz show that type of dedication but I almost never get tha same back in return! That’s what makes me a legendary & an ordinary person boring till this day!

42:09: Crazy business transition fa Boosie, when he went from Camp Life Entertainment ta Trill Entertainment, especially while Loc was locked up…! Luv Loc’s dedication to tha game, all these years later! Props fa “shaping up” Baton Rouge & for havin’ so much power! My Rating: 4.9

07. “Beelow” (43:05 – 50:33)
>>>

43:34: It’s Beelow’s tyme to shine! Didn’t recognize him when I seen tha thumbnail on tha Tubi app; now, I recognize! All about them ‘90s dayz…! Also, Ice Gen in them dayz, too!

45:49: S/O to Thug Addict on tha interview, durin’ tha Beelow see-mo tymes, lol…!

46:34: S/O to Z-Man; them 2000’s dayz fa me & early connection dayz…! Luv how he produced & produced, like, acapella on tha interview, transitioning into tha track/video!

47:58: Luv Beelow’s anticipation & tha expectations he wants to bring outta people by bringin’ Max, Loc & Bleed on tha track with him!

48:32: Lol, already up to 2008? Them “Jigga Juice” dayz! Even on Music Choice Rap & all that! Tha world wasn’t ready fa Baton Rouge like I was, back at 19!

48:58: Oh, geez, what now, Beelow? What was your deal…?! Damn! Bad tyming, basically? Scary! My Rating: 4.6

08. “South Coast Coalition” (50:33 – 59:31)
>>>

50:56: What iz goin’ on with this staple in tha head?? Ohhhh…, here come tha South Coast Coalition!

51:44: S/O to Matt & B-Rock, sharin’ their stories…! Neva knew about that South Coast Flavor release from 27 years ago!

53:18: X-Figgy-Figgy-Fyle iz in tha buildin’…! Luv how his career started off early, thanx to that “keyboard” that was gifted to him…!

54:16: Awesome to see tha old equipment! I remember bein’ on a Mac for tha 1st tyme, back in September of 2001! I didn’t know what to expect with a different OS but it started a movement with my media, as tha years went on!

56:09: Life of tha awesome tymes! That’s where tha home videoz start & they started fa me, back on March 12, 1999! Crazy tymes…!

58:11: Oh, geez, here comes tha “brawl” of change…? So, 2007 was tha SCC’s final album & 2007 was also tha year my Louisiana connection started (October 11th). My Rating: 4.3

09. “DJ & Radio” (59:31 – 1:05:45)
>>>

1:00:11: Okay, okay; we’re goin’ to tha radio life…! Also, diggin’ tha naming of tha Baton Rouge people, too!

1:02:25: Nice ta hear about Max 94.1’s start…

1:02:36: J-Tweezy’s pants really blends in with tha color of tha background! Unexpected parallelness? Likin’ tha talkin’ of tha DJs, in reference to tha station… S/O Kool DJ Supa Mike & Bootsie checkin’ in…!

1:05:24: S/O to DJ Scrap & I’m diggin’ tha shoes in tha background! My Rating: 4.1

10. “Max Minelli” (1:05:45 – 1:17:18)
>>>

1:06:05: Interestin’ shit outside tha club; sad that Max was misjudged tha wrong way! Glad Max shinin’, tho!

1:07:17: Yeah, Max; continue bringin’ that leadership, even tho they came with hardshits…!

1:08:53: While seein’ Max name his albums in a chronologic order, I pause to think that there were more albums b4 I’m All I Got: Minelli World (2001) & Minelli World 2 (2002). I’ve had them for nine years & have yet to review ‘em. It’s just, when I asked Max tha names of tha tracks, he ain’t know ‘em. I may have to schedule myself to come to B.R. & have him relisten to ‘em & see, ya feel me?! It sucks that Max deals with “mental health issues.” That’s how I feel with my Asperger’s Syndrome, at tymes; luckily, all tha THC helps benefit my issues!

1:10:12: Lol @ “Badd Nerves” as “Nerves Badd”, Max! That almost reminds me of some shit that ain’t tha same: “Wuzzam, bitch?!” vs. “Bitch, wuzzam?!” Like, tha two sentence examples don’t create tha same tone. With that bein’ said, lol @ Max sayin’ “Nerves Badd” for “Badd Nerves”… Damn @ tha “collapsed lung” shit, too; ouch, Max!

1:11:31: “Find Me A Freak”: Max was tha 5th artist from Baton Rouge I eva heard, on March 23, 2006 @ 9:24 PM, when “Find Me A Freak” premiered on Music Choice Rap! Other B.R. artists I heard b4 Max? Big Head & Mouse, on July 6, 2005 (Webbie’s Savage Life); Webbie, on April 1, 2005 @ 6:07 PM (“Give Me That”) & Boosie, on February 12, 2005 (“Baby Mama”)! Facts!

1:11:42: Oh, The Remedy! I was just thinkin’ at work, as “U Gotta Luv Me Baby” played through my head & I was like, “Damn, that song iz 14 years-old, already! Like, tha age I’m at, now, iz four years older than when Max dropped ‘U Gotta Luv Me Baby’!” Damn @ Koch, tho, tryna snatch your longevity & long-lasting leadership!

1:13:05: Oh, boy, Dead Game!

1:14:31: It sux when you lose some1 real close; I don’t really like speakin’ on tha subject ‘cause I feel like it brings depressed vibes outta people. However, I will say that thankfully, my mom has gotten thru her breast cancer/chemo bullshit & iz on tha way to fully shakin’ back! Tha whole tyme, from December 11, 2020 – now, it’s all about prayers but most importantly, tha determination, consistency & positivity to pull through anything you goin’ thru!

1:15:36: Funny how Mikki Gunz made “Feelings” a year ago, basically, havin’ tha hook based off of Max Minelli’s shit from years & years b4…

1:16:16: Awesome feelin’ ta be with Sway; gotta keep scorin’! Nice outro vibe of Max Minelli’s part, too! My Rating: 4.7

11. “Outro & Credits” (1:17:18 – 1:24:07)
>>>

1:17:21: Looks like it’s ending? A look at tha Rouge? Yeah, J-Tweezy; it’s all about tha amount of history in such a small city! I feel like that with myself, as I generated a lot of history in such tha small house I stay at. Also, shout out to Savage for appearin’ in his own interview, randomly.

1:17:59: How in tha hell all them together in a room like dat? Aren’t we tryna find tha unity? Don’t I have tha power to get err-body together in a room?

1:18:15: Oh, God, tha YoungBoy era! Coming soon to a Diamonds In The Dirt near you!! Everybody, drop what you’re doin’, even if it’s a funeral, smh! It finna be YoungBoy tyme!! Good grief, lol!

1:18:40: I like that: “high energy street music,” via C-Loc. Every night, while I’m at work, or even just in my daily life, I channel err-body from Baton Rouge’s energy into my own! Tha response I get from people iz as if I have unlimited energy, sometimes! Even durin’ this review; I hit my pen & almost thought I wasn’t gonna make it through tha review. However, I didn’t even stop to eat & just had ta finish it ‘cause there’s only 90 minutes left of 225 Day!

1:18:45: Ain’t realize who dat was, at first; S/O to Mouse! Now that I’m finally movin’ around, Mouse & I should finally meet up! Mouse, I know that was your goal four dayz after you turned 30; on October 23, 2014, you tweeted me, “man I appreciate you so much my G! Hopefully one day I get to meet u soon and kick it with you. Much love and appreciation!,” after I wished him a Happy Birthday outta scratch-off lottery tickets. With that bein’ said, can we wish for a BIG event for Mouse & I, one day?!

1:19:11: Yeah! Luv tha 225 Slang 101 w/Max Minelli goin’ on!

1:19:57: BJ…!

1:20:41: Awesome rhymin’, in a narration/spoken-word flow, with tha Diamonds In The Dirt definition!

1:20:56: Luvin’ how tha credits are scrollin’ & B.R. music iz playin’ in tha background! That’s tha way ta do it!

1:22:23: After seein’ all tha artist/titles come up, it makes me think of my credits. I actually list ‘em, too & on anotha screen, I list tha label info of all tha songs.

1:22:46: Interestin’ to see tha whole list of tha Special Thanks! It’s like lookin’ at an old yearbook or somethin’ with these names! Makes me feel a lil’ uncomfortable ‘cause 11 of tha names either had unexpected beef wit me, hit a lick on me or owe me. None of tha 11 came up in this review but for tha next review, there may be some parts I may have to either skip or not leave feedback on.

1:22:49: Luv seein’ my name! People tend to have trouble spellin’ it, tho. “FrankieThaLuckyDog” iz tha real spelling, from November 4, 2002; other spellings I’ve seen were “Frankie The Lucky Dog” (like tha credits), “Frankie Tha Lucky Dog” & “FrankieTheLuckyDog”. In tha end, it’s “FrankieThaLuckyDog” but I recognize tha shout-out!

1:23:02: Nice ta see tha R.I.P. section; I know there’s a few I would add but for now, one that I can think off tha top of my head, Big Fancy! Glad he believed in me, durin’ those younger tymes of mine!

1:24:00: Luv tha Greg Dukes part, again, with tha “trunk” & tha “bmmm-bmmm-bmmm-bmmm!” My Rating: 4.8

Overall: Even tho this ain’t tha whole Diamonds In The Dirt, it still hit 100% home fa me, courtesy of tha B.R. history! Luv all tha artists I grew up to, makin’ me channel they energy into tha dude I am till this day! I thought tha editing was dope; some same-shot parts had jump-cuts & there were a few audio-pops but I give y’all props fa makin’ somethin’ like this! I was excited ta see that I made tha film, in tha credits. I can’t imagine what people had to say about me; I’m lucky I made just about two stacks durin’ my 15-year Louisiana connection. That ain’t enough ta pay shit! I hope I do get recognized more; some people are recognizin’ me but I think I deserve ta have what a legend has: financial & respected success! With that bein’ said, I can’t wait ta see tha next Diamonds In The Dirt & I give major props ta err-body that contributed to this!

Review #1,684: MC Nero Baby "Nero Back En De Cutt"

Happy 48th day in a row of reviewin’ CDs & only 12 more dayz till my dream comes true!! Looks like a shitty snowstorm outside, so lemme get tha review of tha day outta tha way before I have to see what’s next! I’m skippin’ backwards and had taped it with my video camera/am reviewin’ it with my phone, in case tha power was to go out… Here goes my review for MC Nero Baby Nero Back En De Cutt, released in 1994 on Nero B. Jammin’ Records & was produced by MC Nero Baby, himself! Start Time: 2:17 AM | End Time: 2:27 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

>>> Nice crowd, here… And, here we go… We still have power but I feel nice and relaxed, so I’m doin’ this review via my phone… My Rating: N/A

02. “Nero Back En Da Cutt (Original)”
>>> Sounds nice, here, on tha beat and 1st verse… Lol, “I Gotta Lotta Respect”? That means, you were still alive when I didn’t review a CD, during a day (January 25)!! This was a shorter version but it was nice… My Rating: 4.5

½time: Dope, so far, with a 4.5 tape rating!

03. “Gotz 2 Gitz My Strollz On”
>>> Diggin’ how this sounds eerie, just like tha snow outside…

Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice, here… “Slide, slide, slippidy-slide!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s dope wit what you’re comin’ through with… Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice, too;” good shit! My Rating: 4.6

04. Fire It Upz (Second Intro)
>>> Sounds nice wit tha crowd feeling, once again! My Rating: N/A

05. “I’ma Let U Know It’z Allz Goodz”
>>> Likin’ tha “wah-wah-wah-da-wah-wah” shit in tha beginning! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s nice! You got yo shit on lock, here! Tha hook’s nice! I wish it was “allz goodz,” tho… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s nice ta hear, here; good shit… And, we got a 3rd verse, here, doin’ “tha Nero!” And, tha ending’s some nice lil’ ramblin’, here… My Rating: 4.4

Overall: Excellent, pure-soundin’ classics fa tha Rouge’s undaground, here! Wish you were still around for my dream that’s comin’ true in 12 dayz!! You’re tha most-recent one to pass b4 my dream, sadly! Either way, we must continue!!

Review #1,611: MC Nero "Fool Whut You Talkin' 'Bout"

Reviewed on 1.26.2017 (Review #1,611)

Let’s see if I can finally get back into doin’ my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon. It’s rough when I work six dayz a week, stress out & then, hang out every day… Anyway, here goes my review for MC Nero Fool Whut You Talkin’ ‘Bout, released in 1997 on Dice Records… Start Time: 2:22 PM | End Time: 2:49 PM

01. “Intro”
>>> Has a good lil’ nostalgic vibe to it; hook ain’t bad… Tha lil’ 1st verse sounds good, too… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here… My Rating: 3.6

02. “Player Haterz”
>>> Beat sounds like a good lil’ track for tha undaground… Tha intro to tha hook sounds nice with tha “swamp” and all that… Tha hook’s pretty catchy, as it’s a remake of Pink Floyd; dope… Hearin’ tha energy you bringin’ to tha table on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice… Diggin’ tha 2nd verse a whole lot, especially tha spellin’ with tha “Tha N-to-tha-E-to-tha-R-to-tha-O-to-tha-B-to-tha-A-to-tha-B-to-tha-Y” line!! Also, whateva was spelled after that, as well! Lots of energy on tha 3rd verse, as well… My Rating: 4.4

03. “Nero Muggem”
>>> Beat’s simple but it ain’t bad to back up your nice muggin’, on tha hook! Even better aggression on tha 1st verse, here, deliverin’ that “swamp” material! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice ta hear, as well; keep it goin’! Tha ending sounds nice, too, with havin’ “tha juice.” My Rating: 4.2

04. “Fool Whut U Talkin’ ‘Bout”
>>> Beat’s slower and more on tha southern tip than tha plain-soundin’ beat from tha last song… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice wit what you bringin’ to tha table… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it has, like, a Baton Rouge version of tha Graveyard Soldjas style to it; gotta dig it! Kickin’ off tha 2nd verse wit “it like a jungle, sometimes,” when it comes to tha “swamp;” correct! My Rating: 4.3

½time: Not too bad, so far; err-thang sounds good… A 4.1-rated CD, at tha moment… Feelin’ tha energy you bringin’ to tha table; hope it continues!

05. “Wrek Shop”
>>> Cheesy hook, especially with how it sounds with this fast vibe, but I fucks wit it! Tha 1st verse has a lot ta offer, due to tha 124 beats-per-minute! Tha 2nd verse keeps it goin’, even tho this track’s 4:50… And, a 3rd verse, keepin’ it goin’… My Rating: 3.9

06. “Look Here Y’all”
>>> Beat sounds like a decent bounce beat; nothin’ new… Tha hook’s catchy for a party; that’s about it… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ catchy wit how you keepin’ this on-n-poppin’… My Rating: 3.7

07. “Do Da Nero Bounce”
My Current Rating: 4.3

08. “I Gotta Lotta Respect”
Sounds like a live version… My Current Rating: 4.9

Overall: I thought this review went over well; nice job fa dat Rouge!

Rankings:

08.       “Intro” 3.6
07.       “Look Here Y’all” 3.7
06.       “Wrek Shop” 3.9

Reviewed on 10.01.2016 (Review #1,559)

What a horrible day at work, today! So fuckin’ stressful!! Unfortunately, it’s knockin’ my consistency down a lil’, for now, since I gotta battle my anxiety… Still, I’ll leave ya with one review! Of course, it and tha next one (which I’m doin’ 2morrow) had to be a long review!! I’m only doin’ this one today & takin’ it easy… It’s MC Nero Baby I Gotta Lotta Respect, released in 1996 on Slimpicket Records. MC Nero Baby’s one of Baton Rouge’s earliest pioneers, as well… Happy Birthday to my dawg, Johnny Hustle!! Start Time: 5:08 PM | End Time: 10:39 PM

01. “Da Intro – Who’s Dat Talkin’ ‘Bout Bringin’ Dat Jam?”
>>> Startin’ off wit an energetic vibe, like, a Mardi Gras-meets-Miami-bass vibe; nice! Also, diggin’ these crunk-like vocals! My Rating: 4.3

02. “N.E.R.O. Radio (Respect Prelude)”
>>> I like how there’s a “radio” host in between, here. Beat ain’t too bad fa tha undaground, but I still luv your hype! My Rating: 4.0

03. “I Gotta Lotta Respect (Funk Mix)”
>>> Sounds good with this beat and how you holdin’ this track down… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Do Da Nero Bounce!”
>>> Diggin’ tha dark, but catchy beat, here! Nice job wit tha bouncin’ hook! Great job with tha verses; definitely catchy, here! My bad I ain’t givin’ much feedback; I’m not in much of a mood… My Rating: 4.3

05. “I Brangz Da Noiz 2 Ya! (Bassline Mix)”
I’ll be right back. I gotta go eat dinner, right quick (soup). *Leaves at 5:20 PM…* *Returns at 5:39 PM…* >>> This vibe’s bouncy; nice hook… You still sound pretty hype with how you comin’ through on this! My Rating: 4.3

06. “Everybody Talkin’ ‘Bout Da Nero”
>>> Feelin’ tha dark beat and how tha hook sounds with it! Regular-soundin’ voice, this time, comin’ through with good shit, here… Rhymes definitely fa tha undaground & tha hook’s just so catchy, especially with those female vocals in tha background!! My Rating: 4.6

07. “Ize Wanna Go Jam 2-Nite” feat. Ta’Lib
>>> Nice lil’ eerie beat start and an okay beat, overall… Regular-soundin’ vocals, once again and a simple hook ta “jam” to… Diggin’ it; not too bad, here… My Rating: 4.0

08. “Dear God”
>>> Diggin’ tha vibe fa this track; good shit… Oh, just got called in to go into work again! Despite tha fucked-up morning, I gotta go in; different timing!! *Leaves at 5:56 PM…* *Comes back at 8:26 for credit card, gets gas & goes on a joyride…* *Returns at 10:01 PM…* Definitely feelin’ this dark vibe!! Oh, now, within a different zone than tha 1st ½ of this review, I prolly gon feel better about tha tracks!! Such a hook!! Real catchy, undaground & grimy at its finest!! “Why they wanna run from me?!” My Rating: 4.8

½time: I’m feelin’ tha grimy vibe from you, from tha undaground! Tha beats are definitely dark and how you handle tha tracks are awesome!! A 4.3-rated CD, so far; nice!!

09. “I Fallen & I Just Got Up (My Story)”
>>> Nice speech in tha beginning and wow, what a hook!! Such silliness but it still sounds nice! Real nice!! Hearin’ tha rappin’ and it’s soundin’ nice ta hear! My Rating: 4.4

10. “Im’aletzuknodatzallz Goodz (Funk Mix)”
Holy-fuckin’-title!! >>> Sounds like a simple lil’ southern dance/rap vibe, in a way! Tha hook’s definitely smooth and sets tha tone fa tha life of tha celebrity!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice ta hear; consistency at its finest!! Luv this vibe!!! Tha 2nd verse flowin’ nicely, here! Now, like Jubilee, only it’s a “Nero!” “Do tha Nero!” Nice 3rd verse, here, as well! Tha rest of this was pretty nice, too! My Rating: 4.5

11. “Da Gulf Coast Mackz”
>>> Simple beat… Tha rhymes on tha 1st verse ain’t too bad; almost reminds me of Jazze Pha, lol… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty catchy; definitely a catchy one! Tha 2nd verse’s doin’ its thang, too! “Wah-wah-da-dab-a-dab-damn!!” Lol!!! My Rating: 4.6

12. “Gotta Gett’em Up (G-G Version)”
>>> Funky, gangsta & definitely a catchy hook!!! Just luv your gangsta style!! Definitely legendary!!! Great job with tha 1st verse, holdin’ tha Rouge down!! 225!!! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too! Catchy with how “some”’ll do whateva, on tha 3rd verse! My Rating: 4.7

13. “Nero Iz Jammin’ Da Reggae”
>>> Sounds catchy; nice job wit tha hook! Tha 1st verse’s nice, especially with tha beat, at times! Luv tha sounds!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s nice and catchy, as well! My Rating: 4.2

14. “We Comin’ Wit Da Funk” feat. Ki-era
>>> Sounds catchy on tha hook and tha rhymes are nice, with this okay beat… Tha featured lady on tha 2nd verse sounds nice ta hear, too; decent rhymes… Nice chantin’ wit who “can’t be defeated,” at tha end! You don’t hear shit like this, no mo!!! My Rating: 4.3

15. “I Gotta Lotta Respect (Original Long Version)”
>>> Nice lil’ okay beat and tha vibe on tha 1st verse’s nice… Luv tha title/hook!!! “I gotta lotta-lotta-lotta-lotta-lotta respect; I gotta lotta-lotta-lotta-lotta-lotta respect!” Dope as fuck!! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ betta with tha beat, here; definitely exciting!! I’m petrified ta go ta sleep ta go ta work 2morrow!! They’re managing but they got demoted!!! Anxiety!!! Tha 3rd verse’s great, afta that lil’ interlude. As it was quick, here’s a 4th verse; insane!! Just luv your crazy vocals!! You’re a monsta!!! My Rating: 4.9

16. “Im’a Break U Off Somethin’” feat. Dirty D & Whisper
Iz it me, or I felt like a lotta tha titles seemed odd, in ways, with tha apostrophes? Either way, crazy hook; what a growlin’ dude you iz!!! Tha 1st verse’s so nuts with your crazy rhymes!!! That voice!!! Excellent with tha 2nd verse, here; can’t deny it!! Tha 3rd verse sounds like a Mystikal, holdin’ tha ‘90s down! Such excellent, not-so-known features you got, here!! Tha 4th verse’s just like you & a young Mystikal mixed together!! Excellent job, y’all! You’re just keepin’ tha title rattlin’ off ya tongue on tha last minute, lol! Then, more rhymes!! My Rating: 4.7

Overall: Excellent wit how you came through on this CD!! You delivered tha rhymes real nice wit your voice and how everything came about!! You really got tha aggression, tha excellent tracks fa tha undaground & how you kept it gutta tha whole way ‘round! My bad fa not bein’ in tha mood throughout tha beginning but I’m glad my mood picked up!! Hope you still grindin’ and still holdin’ it down like a big dawg, fa 2016!!!
