Review #1,178: Lake Boys "The Take Over"

Reviewed on 9.14.2012 (Review #1,178)

Reviewin’ a CD in tha Gaslight Inn (where my brother’s stayin’ at), on Long Island! Gotta get a review in this hotel while I’m at it! This one iz for SPT Records’ Lake Boys The Take Over; FREE M DOT & YOUNG 4—BOTH LAKE BOYS NEED TO GET OUTTA JAIL!!! This iz prolly some years old, and I think it’s a jacked-beat CD… Start Time: 12:12 PM | End Time: 12:41 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01.
I don’t have a tracklisting… >>> “‘Bout It, ‘Bout It” beat; guess it’s a “Lake Boys” CD and not just M Dot, according to tha beginning? Either way, likin’ tha UPT-type hood shit! Nice representin’, M Dot! I assume Nu$$ie, Big Markee & all them must’ve still been alive, since they’re still “doin’ it,” here. But, nice job by yourself, Dot! My Rating: 3.9

02.
>>> Almost sounds like a ‘90s beat, but I don’t recognize it; nice vibe! “Pop 1, pop 2”-type shit, here; likin’ tha combination of “jiggin’” and this gangsta-soundin’ beat! This must be tha Lake Boys ‘cause I hear anotha dude, comin’ through wit some good shit…; almost sounds like Dog Da Cutthroata? M Dot, you’re continuin’ ta hold shit down on this track; I feel like I’m listenin’ to Master P or somethin’, right now, and I’m into this vibe! My Rating: 4.4

03.
>>> This beat iz a Mannie Fresh jacked beat; lemme remember which one it iz… Can’t exactly remember; iz it Lil’ Flip/Mannie Fresh “What It Do”? I don’t have an internet connection in this hotel… Either way, both Lake Boys are on here, and it sounds listenable. M Dot’s holdin’ this “Jigga City” hook down, tryna “get [his] paper right!” Hearin’ M Dot on tha 2nd verse, and he’s talkin’ to alive-“Big Markee,” as well as alive-“Nu$$ie;” oh, I miss when they were breathin’!! More M Dot comin’ through on tha 3rd verse, and I’m likin’ what he sayin’, here, from tha car drivin’ to tha real vs. fake people. My Rating: 3.8

04.
>>> Don’t recognize tha beat, but it sounds like ‘90s again, and there’s singin’ on tha hook. Sounds like they’re singin’, “Hurry?” Not much for me, but let’s see how tha verses turn out… M Dot’s on tha 1st verse, and it sounds decent wit tha “cash” shit he spittin’… Got Young 4 on tha 2nd verse, and tha mainstream vs. hood-soundin’ rhymes are aight for me, here… As far as tha rest, tha both of y’all did a decent job. My Rating: 3.6

05.
>>> This beat’s Young Jeezy/Bun B “Over Here”; iz this CD from ’05 or ’06? I know M Dot keeps sayin’, “R.I.P. Lil’ Ivy.” Think we’re startin’ off wit Young 4, and tha rhymes are listenable; glad y’all moved onto original production, now… Young 4 did an okay job; let’s see what M Dot has to offer on tha 2nd verse… Likin’ tha 225 hood shit, here. Got more 4 on tha 3rd verse, soundin’ good for tha undaground. My Rating: 3.5

½time: For mainly a jacked beat CD, I think this iz above-average; 3.8 for tha CD rating, currently.

06.
>>> Original production? Almost sounds like somethin’ 2 Saint would produce or somethin’… Got some “just a week ago” shit repeatin’ in tha 1st verse, here, M Dot; catchy… Sounds like this iz a “stacks” song? Tha hook also has trust issues bein’ discussed; gotta feel this! My Rating: 3.9

07.
>>> Oh, I know this beat, too, ‘05ish style, I think? Almost sounds like Ja Rule’s “Clap Back”, but I have a feelin’ it’s newer than that… Hook has a “they don’t like me” thing goin’ on, here; a lil’ on tha catchy… Tha 1st verse iz Young 4, and it sounds like he doesn’t have a problem gettin’ things… Overall, this wasn’t too bad for just Young 4 bein’ on this… My Rating: 3.6

08.
>>> This anotha familiar beat; sounds like somethin’ DJ Toomp would produce, like a T.I. joint…? “Lake Side” representin’, here; good shit, M Dot! I swear, M Dot could sound like a Master P cousin or somethin’… Got Young 4 on tha 1st verse, and he’s lookin’ for some encounters, lol! M Dot’s on tha 2nd verse, and he’s representin’ for tha streetz, too! Even showin’ tha “platinum and gold” people, too? Should we now call GPS tha MPS? LOL… My Rating: 4.0

09.
>>> Lil’ Jonish beat; sounds like “Quick To Back Down”? Either way, err-body in tha 225 “‘bout dat dumb shit!” Catchy hook, here; tha 1st verse from M’s soundin’ pretty good, how err-body’s attitude holds shit down in a gangsta way… Now, 4’s on tha 2nd verse, and it’s soundin’ like a treasure hunt gone wrong, lol. New person on tha 3rd verse? Not sure who this iz, but I like their “fuckin’ wit tha LAKE BOYS!!!” intro to tha verse! Great endin’ wit how “soft” err-body really iz, like when they “bust a nut;” “dumb shit,” here!! My Rating: 4.0

10.
>>> Tha final one, and it sounds like an R&B jacked beat? Ehh, doesn’t sound like a mixtape track? What’s this weird singin’… Oh, it’s about missin’ your “homie.” Still, not likin’ tha hook’s vocals… Nice lyrics from Dot on tha 1st verse, as well as 4 holdin’ it down, too, on tha 2nd verse… My Rating: 3.0

Overall: Nothin’ too exciting, but it was good to review this from y’all; hope y’all really get free soon!!

01. M Dot Speaks
LOL, different kinda title for an intro… >>> LOL @ tha start. Tha rhymin’ of tha speakin’ iz good, ya dig? My Rating: N/A

02. “I’m In This Bitch”
Shit yea! Let’s hear dis! >>> Whoa, what a hot way ta start!! You confirmed it: “2010;” thanx for tha info!! Tha Vybe beat here samples some pretty-tight music that I can’t think of! Definitely catchy as well as you doin’ ya thang on tha verses, too! I really like tha flow you’re bringin’ here as well as tha consistency in tha shit you rappin’ ‘bout, 225 style!! My Rating: 4.7

03. “D-Boy Shit”
Let’s keep it goin’!! >>> Feelin’ tha sound here; really on a Baton Rouge tip!! Ooh, tha “brick of cocaine, marijuana by tha pound” ‘shit’ in tha hook’s real, real nice!! Tha 3rd ¼ of tha hook has “x-pillz” ta offer, too!! Talk about anotha real hot hook!!! You definitely have tha content on lock to tha fullest!! My Rating: 4.7

04. “R.I.P. Bad Azz Ent. (Part 1)”
What iz this shit? Lemme hear ASAP! >>> Definite plus on what you’re talkin’ ‘bout here!! Yea, what’s up wit tha dickriders of “Bad Azz Ent.” as well as Savage Life Ent., too? I don’t get why I see so many names havin’ those label names in their name and shit? You doin’ a good job on this hook; catchy shit, ya dig? I didn’t think you were this good wit this Rap shit but you’re excellent!!! Feelin’ tha gangsta-ass, true-ass shit you spittin’!! Definitely keep it goin’ here!! Even tha beat iz hot as fuck, too!! My Rating: 4.5

05. “Jumped Off The Porch”
Let’s hear what you gon do wit dis joint. >>> Ooh, very hot production here!! “Sold 10,000 in tha 1st week”? Damn, how you do dat? I sold one copy of my CD, so far. I hope to sell more once I start seein’ people! Sounds like you ballin’ here; definitely feelin’ dis shit! I gon have ta holla at you so you can appreciate what I be doin’ fa you, ya dig? 06. Mr. Take That Dick Speaks
ROFL? >>> LOL, 2:43 of knowledge! I dunno why but this sounds like you, unless it’s familiar? I feel what they’re sayin’ ‘bout tha “in tha perish, they want you ta holla at them.” ROFL @ “shit stains in they draws;” where iz this comin’ from? LOL! BTW, off-topic: when I type (without quotes) “M Dot Lake Boys” in Google, tha 1st thing that comes up iz my commercial for “Pyrex Radio Vol. 6”; that’s tha most-frequently-seen thing of yours online? That’s cool ‘cause I made it! My Rating: N/A

07. “How You Want Do It” Feat. DMX & Savage
LOL, what a collaboration we got here! How’d you get dis ta work out? >>> Whoo!! Sounds like a tight Savage production!! LOL, DMX on fire here!!! This tha kinda shit that’s missin’ from tha mainstream Rap game!!! Definite A+ from DMX!! Mix him wit a lil’ Mystikal and Sam I Am and it will be real, real great!!! Savage’s doin’ a pretty-nice job on tha hook; real good shit here!! Definite Baton Rouge meets DMX-type shit to tha fullest!! You’re goin’ off on tha 2nd verse, too; definitely feelin’ tha attitude, too!! Savage’s even rappin’ on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit tight-ass shit, too! Real glad ta hear dis shit in ’10!! If I would’ve known about dis CD earlier, I would’ve nominated it (and maybe, it could’ve won) on my 3rd Annual Louisiana Awards, bein’ broadcasted on YouTube December 31, 2010!! My Rating: 4.9

½time: Wow, what a hot-ass CD here!! You really, really, really goin’ off!!! So far, a 4.6-rated CD; keep this shit up!!!!!

08. “My City” Feat. Jules
High anticipation on this, too! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ new peeps!! >>> I’m likin’ tha production once again and Jules sounds pretty good on tha hook! Even though I don’t like when people quote Nu$$ie, you did a pretty good job emergin’ on tha 1st verse; talk about greatness!! You really have a real, real, real great flow and way of rappin’, ya dig?!? Hope you don’t “wake up broke, mayne,” ya dig? Definitely some real-ass shit comin’ out my speakers!! Can’t believe how great you are!!! My Rating: 4.6

09. “Gangsta Gangsta” Feat. Nu$$ie, Vicious & Jules
Tri-feature here; really lookin’ forward to tha sequel of tha previous joint!! >>> Yea, definitely a sequel; good hook from Jules once again!! Who knows, I might nominate this on my next year’s awards dependin’ on if this ain’t older than tha Summer of 2010. You’re doin’ a real great job deliverin’ tha 1st verse wit dat real-ass street shit!!! ROFL, Nu$$ie rollin’ wit “slime balls;” interestin’ shit to tha fullest!! Pretty-good verse from Nu$$; let’s hear Vicious and his perspective on tha streetz! Yea, what a nice start to tha verse wit tha “dope game”-type lyrics! :tu Really feelin’ tha street shit; anotha real hot joint to tha fullest!!! My Rating: 4.8

10. Nu$$ie Speaks
Interestin’… >>> I hear an area, like a club, in tha back; interestin’. Good job, Nu$$ie; I liked this better than tha verse you just spit! My Rating: N/A

11. “R.I.P. Bad Azz Ent. (Part 2)”
LOL, anotha one? >>> I’m likin’ tha start and now, it’s soundin’ like “Rocky Balboa”! Oh, Phunk Dawg on tha beat? LOL, it went from X-Fyle to Shonta and now, to Phunk Dawg; err-body producin’ tha “Rocky Balboa” (Mookie Blakk) song, lol! Tha hook’s pretty catchy; hope you neva come close ta dyin’!! Definitely a classic CD, ya dig?!? You doin’ a real nice job on tha 1st verse, comin’ through in a gangsta stance!! It doesn’t get realer than this; fight dem “Bad Azz Ent.” peeps!! But, don’t get killed! My Rating: 4.6

12. “Handle That” Feat. Young Ready
Ooh, Young Ready on tha feature; how crazy’ll this be? >>> Yea, tha beat’s definitely on ‘n’ poppin’!! I feel like it’s tha ’06 – ’08 dayz and it’s ’10!!! Tha hook’s definitely crazy; Ready goin’ off on tha hook in a real, real catchy way!!! Speakin’ of Ready, he’s on tha 1st verse, comin’ through real, real, real nicely!!! This tha kinda shit I wanna hear from Baton Rouge 24/7!!! This definitely has ta be tha hottest CD I reviewed this month—I reviewed over 115 CDs this month, ya dig?!? You’re comin’ through on tha 2nd verse wit a Nu$$ie perspective; definitely some gangsta shit to tha fullest!!! My Rating: 4.8

13. “Long Gone (Tribute To Nu$$ie)” Feat. Jules
Let’s hear if it gon be catchy! >>> Sounds like “Be Without You” from Mary J. Blige in tha background. Not too bad on a “tribute” song. Yea, this iz pretty sad ta hear; at least Jules delivers tha hook in a great way! Let’s hear what you got ta say about Nu$$: Yea, this iz sad; you know it affected me in a great way! I felt like 2008 went out tha window and could neva be done over! “You was no studio gangsta;” most definitely! There are buku people dat are “studio gangstas”, ya dig? I like your lil’ talk break before tha 2nd verse; feelin’ tha two random “bruh” parts, ya dig? Glad Nu$$ie gave me a shout out on a mixtape two years ago; you know dat was real to tha fullest! You did a nice job on tha 2nd verse, too! LOL, Jules rappin’ in a singin’ voice, doin’ tha damn thang, lol! Even though it’s quite hard fa me ta hear somethin’ like dis (sadness), I’m givin’ this a good rating vs. any kinda sad song ‘cause of how much I can relate to it!! Speakin’ of Nu$$ie, Music Choice: Electronica’s playin’ M.I.A. “XXXO” right now and tha fact that’s displayed iz her birthday, which iz tha same birthday as Nu$$!! My Rating: 4.3

14. “I’m Looking For Ya” Feat. Young 4
Who’s Young 4? Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ more hot shit!!! >>> Wow, anotha jam here!!! You really holdin’ down tha hook to tha fullest; luv your energy!!! Must be Young 4 on tha 1st verse; he sounds hella tight wit how he brings tha content and street shit to tha track!! Damn, that hook’s so raw!!! Sounds like buku names in tha 2nd verse; iz Young 4 a group? Nice lil’ 2nd verse as it was interestin’, ya dig? Here comes tha tight-ass M Dot on tha 3rd verse; gotta feel it!!! Luv your energy as well as how great you bring tha street content on every track!! This iz a perfect example of an A+ CD; I can definitely believe you!!! My Rating: 4.7

15. “Tryna Get Paid” Feat. Savage, Level & Blackcat
Time ta end dis; how will it end? >>> Yes, anotha jam!!! Talk about a real hot hook!!! Really luvin’ this shit, especially tha imitated voice that sounds like a girl in tha hook, lol! “It’s 2008;” lol, we went backwards! If you can hit me up and tell me tha years of each song, I’ll be able ta get them on tha radio so I know where to put each one in rotation! Nice job wit how you brought it on tha 1st verse and now, Savage’s comin’ through on tha 1st verse, too! He bringin’ some real-ass, 225 shit!! Real glad ta have Savage on tha feature (and I believe tha beat, too)!! That’s a plus!! Level’s on tha 2nd verse and he’s anotha one; real glad you got him on here, too!! He did tha damn thang to tha fullest, ya dig? Ooh, Blackcat’s on tha 3rd verse, doin’ what Young 4 did on tha 2nd verse of tha last song: repeat certain shit! Soundin’ real nice, here; dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb shit!!! This iz why I luv tha 225!!! Did he say he was wit “Bad Azz Ent.” at tha end? It almost sounded like a part of his verse was cut off, too? Either way, definite anthem here!!! My Rating: 4.7

Overall: Well, you definitely proved ta me dat you’re real great wit what you do!!! I didn’t know you were this known; this definitely iz some great-ass shit!!! I really hope to get in contact wit you ASAP! I hope if I call tha number on tha back of tha CD dat they’ll take me serious ‘cause I really am serious wit what I be doin’!! I don’t know if you have a Facebook or anything but yea, get at me! Hope you like dis review ‘cause you really are worth five stars!!!!!

Review #162: Lil' Cali "Warning Shots"

Reviewed on 12.19.2008 (Review No. 162)

Wat up, it's FrankieThaLuckyDog here. Before I get into tha review I'm about to do for Lil' Cali, I wanna announce that today marks a year where tha Louisiana connection started to pop off for me! I had my first long conversation wit Jimmy The DJ, talkin' about a bunch of Louisiana shit. Since then, I went from having just his number to havin' 5 New Orleans numbers (including his), 19 Baton Rouge numbers, and 3 "985" area code numbers!! And havin' tha luck to talk to Max Minelli, along wit a bunch others online, makes me feel that my luck wit Louisiana peeps iz here to stay, as well as my connection growin' consistantly, day by day! Now then, here goes my review for Lil' Cali "Warning Shots"! Also, I'm gonna say this on every review I do for a while: FOR ANYONE READIN' THIS: Go check out my brand new music video, "Change Tha World," featuring Tha Wennipearl (my cousin Jen)!! It's a great song (written and produced by me) and a REAL GREAT music video (directed and 100% edited by me)! | Start Time: 5:52 PM | Video Game Playing: The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past (for Super Nintendo)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. © 2008 CD Review (Review #162) reviewed on 12.19.2008 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. "Hey Hey"
Tha 1st track off this CD. Let's see how he does… >>> Odd start for tha beginning… Not really into it at first. We'll see if it picks up… I like that, "I got pounds of that *hey hey*," part. I like how you rapped, and it was like tha sample responded. Tha 1st verse was good, but this izn't tha type of song I wanna hear wit repetitive sample parts, and that beat iz not that good for me. Tha 2nd verse was on some pretty good shit too. Tha 3rd verse was aight to me. This sounds like it could be a mainstream song, but tha beat itself iz not even Louisianaish. My Rating: 3.6

02. "Real D-Boy" Feat. Sean Kingston
I saw tha Sean Kingston feature, and was about to just puke. Then again, I made sure I looked at tha title before I could judge it. It better be good wit that kinda title! *Eats pizza at 5:58 PM and comes back at 6:13 PM* >>> Tha beat sounds not bad, but again, non-Louisianaish, and a lil' like tha vibe of "There's Nothin'" from Sean Kingston, along wit his hook havin' tha same subject as tha joint he did wit Gorilla Zoe. Not bad on tha 1st verse from you. He could've picked a better feature person than that big teddy bear, lol? Sounds like tha 2nd verse soundin' better… "Neva goin' commercial," huh? I hope so. Please get some Louisiana beats! Great 2nd verse, and okay 3rd verse. I'm still pretty disappointed of how this sounded… My Rating: 3.4

03. "Ugh" Feat. Mz Smurff
Wow, a female? Now we're goin' DOWN tha drain!!! >>> "Ugh," what's wit all tha "ughs"? Catchy, but not that good for me. Pretty nice 1st verse. LOL @ tha "I'm tha shit, even though I ain't farted" line. "Ugh," I'm losin' in tha video game I'm playin'! Maybe I finna get pissed off! Tha girl had a pretty nice verse; I wasn't disappointed by her, but I neva really have anticipation for female rappers when I hear 'em on jointz. My Rating: 3.5

04. "So Sharp" Feat. Jazze Pha
Now, I think I finna give up here… WHY NO Nu$$ie, Young Ready, Kevin Gates, etc. etc.? Why all these fuckin' mainstream people that are just average/boring to me??? >>> Cool beat, neat hook, decent so far… This izn't what I was expecting when listenin' to this CD. Catchy lil' part from Jazze, and you're on tha 1st verse… You sound like T.I. here…; decent. 2nd verse startin' off wit tha typical/boring, "I keep tha baddest bitches," part. Everyone pretty much has a bitch; why do I have to hear it on every CD? I mean, at least describe exactly what she like. Quality iz better than quantity! My Rating: 3.7

05. "I Will Never Tell"
No feature, lol? >>> Iz that T.I. on tha sample, or boring Jay-Z? Nothin' groundbreaking wit that sample/hook. Okay 1st verse. 2nd verse was a lil' better… Decent 3rd verse, but that "caught wit bricks" part at tha end of tha last verse caught onto me. My Rating: 3.6

06. "I'm All That" Feat. Lil' Boosie
Oh, finally, a Louisiana feature? Yeah! Not anticipated though, 'cause I wanna see if it's worth it, especially since my boy B-Raw (from Baton Rouge) just hit me up on tha phone… >>> Okay, that phone call looks like it changed tha pace of this CD! This sounds A LOT BETTER! Great hook, and startin' off tha 1st verse wit you rockin' dem "'bauds;" that's watz good. I hear some Project Pat "Chickenhead" samples in this (wit tha "alright, alright, alright"). Catchy 1st verse on this. Boosie had a pretty good verse as well on his part. Hearin' your 3rd verse… Of course, I like it. That's all I have to say. My Rating: 4.4

07. "Do It" Feat. Young Sleep & Da Kidd AJC
Now, even though I don't know who those featured people are, I have anticipation for this 'cause that Young Sleep dude looks like he iz a Louisiana person. We'll see how good this iz… >>> That's a much better length, 4:42! Looks like a great sounding beat in tha beginning! Great lil' attitude in tha hook! Great, catchy hook, as tha title izn't a "do it [that dance]" type of description! I hear you on tha 1st verse… I like tha, "we smokin' purp right off tha pound," part, but tha, "like Yung Joc, it's goin' down," part iz a lil' played out. That, "I fall off in tha club like, 'what's happnin' mannnnnne?'," part iz hella catchy! Tha dude on tha 2nd verse iz not bad on his part. He did a decent job wit tha shit he just spit. Let's hear tha 3rd verse… It's you… Too much of tha words, "in da club," in this shit. It's kinda obvious… Minus that typical saying, your 3rd verse was not bad. My Rating: 4.3

08. "Let Me Die" Feat. Trey Songz & Smoke DZA
I have a feelin' I'm gonna pass on this… >>> Not really into tha style of tha beat, even though it's pretty good. Great lil' hook from Trey Songz. Me losing in my video game just makes me wanna have a lower rating for this… Aight 1st verse, 2nd verse iz on now, and soundin' better. Tha beat sounded real nice in tha 3rd verse. Pretty nice 3rd verse also. How'd you get Trey Songz on a song? I thought you were an underground artist on tha come-up. Well, that beat iz just too good now, and I think I like this joint more! My Rating: 4.0

09. "Like Me"
Almost looks like tha previous title (wit tha 1st 2 words). >>> Unknown featured singer? Pretty cool beat, and cool hook. Nice lil' part about your "coke" and tha "kitchen." I like how at tha end of your 1st verse that when you said tha word, "blink," you said, "blink," again. That kinda added tha effect to make someone flinch outta nowhere, lol. You're also on tha 2nd verse… (oh yeah, I thought there was gonna be a featured rapper for a second; my bad). I like those "kush" ad-libs. Anyway, there's no 3rd verse. Pretty catchy song right here. My Rating: 3.9

½time: Off to an odd/mixed up start… Not really too happy about tha beginning jointz, but then it picked up towards tha near-end. That joint wit Boosie, tha "Do It" joint, and tha Trey Songz feature song were real nice. I wonder what kinda mix iz left…

10. Skit
What a way to start off tha 2nd ½, lol. >>> 22 seconds… Nothin' to say. My Rating: N/A

11. "On Da Grind" Feat. Ms. Peaches
What do we got here? Looks like it gon be a weird mix… >>> I thought that was gonna be Ms. Peachez (who sang "In The Tub" and "Fry That Chicken"). Not too crazy about how this sounds… Tha way she sounds ain't really interesting for me… I mean, it's just her vocals; tha lyrics are pretty cool. Listenable/not bad 1st verse… Okay 2nd verse. Not really for me, but I guess it could be good for others. Nothin' really to say about Ms. Peaches bein' on tha bridge… 3rd verse iz also decent for me. Tha way this was produced and made wasn't really tha way I would feel it too much. My Rating: 3.5

12. "Big Money" Feat. Lil' Boosie & Lake Boyz
A much better collaboration, and lookin' forward!! >>> Hearin' Savage intro in tha beginning… Looks like you're better at choosin' tha producers again! Kick-ass beat (as most of tha time when it comes to Savage, especially wit tha intro revealed). Looks like this'll be tha best joint on here! Great hook, and hearin' Boosie already on tha 1st verse… Pretty nice verse from Boosie right here. Gotta luv that hook, as it kicks ass! Let's hear how these Lake Boyz gon do on tha 2nd verse… Soundin' good so far. Definitely a cool verse right there; jammin'. Let's hear you on tha 3rd verse… Of course, you sound better on these TIGHT beats! My Rating: 4.5

13. "Tote Guns" Feat. Rico
Not sure of tha featured artist. Hope it's not a Jamaican sounding… >>> It's long (4:48). Beat iz pretty cool in tha beginning wit that organ. Good thing it's just a Biggie sample for tha hook/title! A nice 1st verse from you; likin' tha, "I'm strapped up like girbauds," line! 2nd verse might've been right behind tha 1st verse, but still went nice. Now, that 3rd verse was pretty good for me; cool joint. My Rating: 4.1

14. "Stressin' Me" Feat. Plies
Have I heard this before? Wait a sec, Ace Hood had tha same joint. What's this then? >>> Why are you stealin' this joint from Ace? Unless this a mixtape… This sounds more like an album tha way it's not mixed together. BOOM! You just came outta nowhere wit that Ace Hood flow on tha 1st verse! Great attitude on your 1st verse! Really feelin' Plies's hook, especially wit tha "fuck around and got a hoe pregnant" part; too catchy when he says that. You have that same attitude on tha 2nd verse, which helps. I think I liked Ace Hood's original version better, but, you did pretty nice stressin' out on this shit. Since that version I rated 4.0, I'm gonna rate this one a tiny bit lower. My Rating: 3.9

15. "You Don't Know" Feat. G-Ryde & Cham
I "don't know" what to expect… >>> Sounds like an East Coast sound wit tha hook mixed wit tha beat… I like tha "O's and tha dro" part. Not bad 1st verse. This slow and smooth wit tha sounding. I almost thought that was Obie Trice on tha 2nd verse… Good "Death Row grind" part. Tha 3rd verse iz soundin' interesting! I like tha "tha fiends ask, 'will you feed my pipe?'" part a whole lot! Cham on tha 3rd verse definitely brought attention wit what he was spittin'! This I'm only rating a 3.9, but this was tha best outta tha 3.9 rated jointz. My Rating: 3.9

16. "We Ride" Feat. Cupid, Young Sleep & A.N.T.
My cousin Ant iz visiting right now, lol. Again, I don't know what to expect… Could be good… >>> Tha long lengths continue (4:35 on tha length), as they could be good luck. What's wit this Cupid shit? I feel that after "Cupid Shuffle," that felt like it. How come all these Louisiana cats hookin' up wit him? Sounds odd, even though that hook was pretty nice/catchy that he made on this. Good job, Cupid. A pretty nice 1st verse from you right here. I like how Cupid adds that emotion to tha hook; yeah! Pretty nice 2nd verse, but that "killa/push me" quote from Pac iz played out for me. Tha A.N.T. dude on tha 3rd verse iz soundin' good. Great job right there. This another 3.9 rated joint… They just too close to be loved on a 1st listen. My Rating: 3.9

17. "24's" Feat. Rico & B-Real
Yes, "B-Real…on tha track, now that's a hit!" This should be good!! >>> Sounds like I might've heard it b4, but no, it's just that good Baton Rouge sound. Great sounding on tha hook!! Looks like you kept it real on tha 1st verse to prevent them haterz; nice 1st verse. Tha 2nd verse sounded pretty nice too. Can't front on that hook as it's just tight. Tha 3rd verse was equal to what I'm used to hearin' from you. My Rating: 4.2

18. "Sometimes I Cry"
Sorry, but seein' tha word "cry" in a title EASILY gets me nervous, and I can EASILY tell it's not gonna be for me! Low anticipation level… >>> Only 3 minutes, so I can't be too worried. Startin' off wit tha beat intro… Not as bad as I expected. Nice 1st verse, even though it seems like it's just draggin'… Tha hook iz just okay, but it ain't as bad as I thought it was gonna be for me. Pretty good 2nd verse too, but please, don't make any references to Jay-Z, especially since this was like at least two already. He doesn't need special recognition. Don't mind tha rating; tha lyrics were pretty nice to hear on this shit. My Rating: 3.3

Overall: End Time: 7:52 PM. Well, I expected A LOT more from this CD… It was mixed too much of songs that weren't my style, along wit tha style I expected: that Louisiana sound, especially Baton Rouge! Of course, my favorite jointz on this CD were tha Baton Rouge sounded songs. I didn't get where all tha mainstream artists came from. How did all this happen? Curious… But Cali, keep doin' ya thang, and keep collaborating wit tha Baton Rouge people, and anybody else from Louisiana 'cause *imiates that Vegas saying* "what goes on in Louisiana, STAYS in Louisiana!"

Watz good DeTrane, my dawg. It's ya boy Frankie. Tonight I'm doin' a review to your second edition of "Jigg City Radio". Today iz my boy Jewison (from my click)'s birthday today so very special happy birthday goes out to him. Anyway, without further or do, with a lot of anticipation, here goes my review for "Jigg City Radio Vol. 2". P.S.: I really hope you keep gettin' better and recover extremely fast from that car accident! You gon hit tha game HARD when you're fully recovered!!! Start Time: 11:27 PM | Video Game Playing: Tetris & Dr. Mario (for Super Nintendo) (on my computer)

01. DeTrane "Jigg City Radio Intro"
How iz this thang gon start off? >>> Yeah definitely lookin' forward to this buku shit!! My Rating: N/A

02. Lake Boyz Feat. Lil' Boosie "Big Money"
Looks like this joint gon set tha mixtape off right! I predict that wit a High AL (anticipation level)! >>> Didn't know Lil' Boosie was gonna be featured on this ('cause he's not in tha ID on tha cover). Now I gotta get adjusted to reviewing mixtapes again. It feels like it has been forever ('cause I'm so used to reviewing one a day). Very good start so far wit a real good hook. I like how each line in tha first verse has "nigga" in tha beginning. That's somethin' different 'cause you usually hear sometimes tha same word at tha end of each line (like "ya dig" or "man" for example). I can't imagine spendin' $5,000 at tha bar and $4,000 for bitches when it comes to goin' to tha club. I feel like that's extremely too much… Oh shit that mixin' at tha end scared me… I didn't expect it. But this was a real good joint. Real good start to this mixtape (as I predicted)! My Rating: 4.6

03. Jimi Jump "To Pieces"
Just by lookin' at it, it looks like it gon be more on tha crunk side of thangz… >>> Nah not really crunk. More like tha same usual/good type of Louisiana club song I'd hear. Sayin' what I was sayin' about tha song before this, ya know how that one had "nigga" in tha beginning of each line in tha 1st verse? Well this has "to pieces" at tha end of each line (that's what I was talkin' about when I was explainin'). But yeah, hot shit right here! Even tho it's real hot, I kinda wanna avoid hearin' shit like "at tha club and there's shootin'" (or some shit related to that) eva since DeTrane and his car accident incident. Do we really need shootin' at tha club? Tha more it happens, tha more I'll neva feel like I'll eva get to a club due to stereotyping… My Rating: 4.4

04. 3Deep Feat. Mannie Fresh, Plies & Webbie "Watch My Shoes (Remix)"
Almost was a lil' worried I was gonna hear tha original, but why tha hell should I think that? This iz a NEW mixtape so tha NEWER songs/remixes are here!! >>> I remember when I first heard this joint (tha original) and thinkin' that it was aight. Then when I saw tha video a few times, tha swag and tha whole video caught on real good wit me as it did BIG THANGZ wit me. It also iz inspiring me to get a New Orleans hat (thanx to my boy Jimmy The DJ). I hear Mouse on tha 1st verse this time… Good from him. Comeback of Mannie Fresh for me on tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse… Yup his part was good too. He put tha first part of "fresh" into it. Okay Lil' Phat iz first on tha 2nd verse. Definitely sounded like B.G. wit them lyrics on his part. I liked it. Looks like tha goon iz on tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse. Oh no more of tha "shooting + tha club" lyrics. But good part by Plies either way. My boy Shell iz on tha 1st part of tha 3rd verse. Real good that you got on a fresh polo. I got one on too (black and white wit red lines). That's also real cool about tha Pimp C kicks. Damn this whole remix iz fresh (as well as Webbie's part on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse)! Bangin'!! I feel like I like this more than tha original. How unexpected! Go DeTrane and your exclusives!!! My Rating: 4.9

05. "Jigg City Radio Break No. 1"
Okay if you say so, I'll take a quick break and go get a drink… Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I'm currently in my hometown (Long Island, New York) doin' this review. >>> Okay looks like I better get my anticipation set 'cause it looks like Max iz up next! My Rating: N/A

06. Max Minelli "U Gotta Luv Me Baby"
Tha title looks like it'll sound commercial type (like it reminded me real quick of Murphy Lee & Jazze Pha "Luv Me Baby" from 2004), but I can't stereotype it so fast! High AL and hopefully a good one! >>> Well Max, looks like you think this: Your People > Rap music. You "don't like Rap; you do this for your people." I can't 100% say that 'cause I LOVE BOTH! A lot of people love Max Minelli and consider him their favorite artist. That's good, but too bad Wikipedia won't show him luv. When you type "Max Minelli" in, nothin' comes up. WTF ? ! ? ! ? So Jimmy The DJ thinks he's tha "Nas of tha South"? If that's so, then I definitely like Max Minelli a lot, and take that compliment into consideration. Max Minelli's music iz just as good as all tha other Louisiana shit I hear. Pretty catchy hook, but not as good as tha past 3 songs on here. My Rating: 4.0
EDIT: Another error. It's "U Gotta Luv Me Baby", not "Gotta Love Me Baby". I feel like I'm in tha year 2000 wit these errors, lol.

07. Nu$$ie "Kill Something"
And another legend… High AL 'cause I want him to DEFINITELY "kill something" … THIS SONG!! >>> Yes I will listen 'cause "Savage on tha beat!" Nu$$ie sounds like a character in his voice, so I definitely can dig that. Even tho you were drug-dealin' in 1989, I was only 1 years old at tha time, lol. Just figured I'd randomly share that. Even tho I remember a lot of shit, I don't remember shit in 1989 'cause I started rememberin' a lot of shit startin' 1998. Yeah to ya'll "fakerz" out there, Nu$$ie wants PROOF! Ya gotta "kill something" in order to be real! Ya can't lie about shit! Nu$$ie's rappin' iz so good, I forget about tha Savage beat sometimes. To now comment tha beat, of course it's REAL HOT! Love them Savage beats! Gotta have those kick-ass beats that are on FIYA!!! My Rating: 4.3

08. Big Scoob Feat. T-Lo & Sam I Am "Pop A Wally"
Aight I see some people from tha Pyrex Radio series. That's watz up (tha featured artists). How will this come out? "Pop a wally" sounds like I heard it somewhere… >>> A fast beat this time. Reminds me of "bounce music" from Louisiana. This iz what it iz. Wow definitely sounds like old bounce music. That beat iz nice on tha hook. Wow. I actually just realized it samples Europe's "The Final Countdown". No wonder it's hot! Yeah unlike other artists/songs, you can't just fuck. You gotta (in a singin' voice) "fuuuuuuuuck!" Likin' all tha fast rappin', but nothin' beats that "Mystikal fast rappin'" style on tha 3rd verse! That must be Sam I Am (since he's tha last featured artist on tha ID). Good shit. My Rating: 3.7

09. D-So Feat. Lil' Boonie & Lil' Yella "Like We Jigg"
Oh no somethin' I've seen before… Tell me this was on tha last "Jigg City Radio" compilation… Nope it's not, but it has to be from somewhere… Lemme hear it… >>> ***YUP*** Just as I expected as soon as I heard tha beat. It's from "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1", only it's labeled as Nuttiochie Boyz as tha artist. DeTrane you're LATE, lol! But I think you have tha right ID (unless all of them are a part of tha Nuttiochie Boyz, then it should just be labeled that). Without copy/pasting my review from tha "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1" mixtape, I think I like this song better. That hook iz REAL hot! Love tha "ya'll niggaz can't jig like we jig, ho" (and when it sounds better when it says it again right after). Like all them girbauds parts throughout tha song, especially that whole 3rd verse (gotta have 'em saggin'). Real good 3rd verse. Just checked my rating for it on "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1". Wow I only gave it a 3.5. That must be a cursed rating at first for me 'cause I gave Dee-1's "Priceless" tha same rating, and both that and this are A LOT BETTER than that!!! My Current Rating: 4.2 (Look @ that +0.7 boost!)
EDIT: Aight got tha word from DeTrane a while ago that he himself submitted tha track to Jimmy for "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1". Thanx 4 clearing that up!

10. "Jigg City Radio Break No. 2"
I'm gonna ID it as tha way I have it instead of tha way it's on tha cover (as "DeTrane Radio Break No. 2") just so it flows right. But yeah, another break means another drink for me… >>> That beat intro to No. 11 sounds like it gon be REAL HOT! Can't wait to hear it! My Rating: N/A

11. T-Lo "All Day"
And I thought it was a 2-play for a sec.. But naw, T-Lo was on No. 08, and this iz not back 2 back, but still, let's hear this one! >>> Good for that extra intro where he checked in. Good start, even tho it also sounds familiar, but I don't think I eva heard it. I don't think that he should announce that Shante iz on tha track so many times (especially during tha hook). When I make songs and shit, I don't wanna announce that I'm on tha beat and shit throughout tha song (or have a beat intro like Nitti or Mouse in front of every song). Nitti & Mouse can keep doin' that 'cause I like it on them, but for me, and my songs (and anybody that's new to producing), I feel as tho that does somethin' wrong to tha song/intro, but that's just my opinion. I like at tha end of this "we came to han-dle business." My Rating: 4.1

12. Lil' Josh Feat. Tank Jones & Lil' Ernest "Big Fine Slim Fine"
This looks like it's gonna be tight wit those names and that title looks like it gon remind me of YYT/Mike Jones "Badd". I predict a club banger… >>> Okay it has that type of feel. More of Shante huh? When people say "fine" (for example) like tha way dude sayin' it on tha hook, I always think of Sean Paul of tha Youngbloodz or somebody wit a grill in their mouth. Looks like Shante used tha same type of sound effect throughout tha beat (throughout tha verse you could hear somethin' consistant in tha background). Yeah definitely a fuckin' huge club banger for this song, but I don't think it's anything special for me. Tha 3rd verse sounds a lil' like Webbie mixed wit Lil' Boosie… That must've been Lil' Ernest 'cause he said "Lil' E" at tha end of his verse. I feel it tho. My Rating: 3.6

½time: Definitely some real hot shit right here! I know this goin' str8 onto my iPod ASAP!!

13. A-Mar & Dyl Feat. City Boy "Bars & Apple Fanta (Remix)"
I knew by that millisecond that I heard of tha intro that I knew I was gonna know it from somewhere, and I do (only I heard tha original). So this a remix huh? Iz A-Mar actually on it, and how will that City Boy dude do? >>> I feel like everytime I see this, I think "it's okay. Why this again?" but then I hear it and I'm like "this sounds like it gets better and better wit each listen." Great 1st verse. Yeah Dyl had a great verse as well as Citty Boy on his verse (tha 2nd one). Everytime I hear "fanta", I think "fonta" (how I'd pronounce it), but I guess it's "fanta" (how it looks). Yeah A-Mar, "we need a remix," and we got one! Too bad his verse cut off too fuckin' quick. My Rating: 4.0

14. C-Loc "I'mma Do Me"
C-Loc? Sounds like I might've heard of him. Looks like a jacked beat… >>> Nope. A different type of song. Looks like I'm lookin' forward then! Lol @ tha low quality soundin'. I don't see much interest in this tho… It's puttin' me to sleep (I don't know why). My Rating: 3.4

15. "Jigg City Radio Break No. 3"
Yeah but I'm not taking a break, lol. >>> Even tho No. 16 (which iz usually tha special song for me) iz coming up, that sounds like it gon be somethin' familiar since I heard tha "Set It Off" beat. VL Mike? My Rating: N/A

16. Delwin The Krazyman Feat. Nu$$ie "Mobbin' On 'Em"
Nope somethin' different. VL Mike did that beat on his "Wus Up" joint from his "Place Yo Betz" mixtape. Can this Delvin dude match or surpass? >>> Sounds different. It actually sounds like it's randomly samplin' tha beat here and there. How odd… Yeah that's another thing I wouldn't do in my songs: throw out a website in tha middle of my verse. Not a good look for me. I rather do that as a shout out or an intro/outro. Yeah this izn't as special (sounds worse for me than that C-Loc song), but Nu$$ie unexpectically (since I didn't know he was in tha song at first) gives this joint some life. Nothin' really special for a No. 16 song for me. My Rating: 3.2

17. Lake Boyz Feat. Savage "Top Model Wit It"
Looks like a dance or a "bounce music" type of song. Glad they're on here again! >>> Okay it's not a bounce song, but it's related to a dance. Wow lmao @ 1:02 and 1:05. There's computer alert sound effects in tha middle of tha song (lmao - it's like a "dun" sound effect). That's unprofessional in my opinion. It sounded like Savage (I think) on tha hook, and tha 2nd verse sounds like Webbie. How odd/unexpected… Lmao again @ 2:07 wit tha 3 mouse clicks in a row. What iz this shit??? More clicks coming! Ewe… WTF was that sound @ 3:09? It scared me… Another okay song. What's wit these okay/average songs? This iz too many in a row. Bad consistancy. My Rating: 3.4

18. The Alliance Feat. Lil' Boosie, Foxx, Juvenile, Gucci Mane, Webbie & Fabo (D4L) "Tattoo (Remix)"
LOL @ tha no ID in tha artist!! But not lookin' forward if it's a "Tatted Up" (or should I say "Tattoo") remix. >>> Okay I'm feelin' tha fucked up slowness of tha hook to "Tattoo" in tha beginning. Lil' Boosie huh? ViperGFX couldn't ID him? Lol/smh. They don't know that Foxx on tha 2nd part? Damn he a FUCKIN' BEAST!!!!! I hear tha girl from The Alliance on tha 1st part of tha 2nd verse. A dude from The Alliance iz on tha 2nd part. Juvenile on tha 3rd part. Good shit here. Gucci Mane on 1st part of 3rd verse. Webbie on Part 2, Verse 3. Wow I named EVERYONE on here. ViperGFX why'd you get lazy all of a sudden wit tha ID? Lol. I fixed it for ya, and I'm feelin' this remix. Definitely turns Spring/Summer 2007 into Spring/Summer 2008 for me! My Rating: 4.1

19. Thrilla Feat. Lil' Yella "Antidote (Remix)"
I wanna hear this joint. I just can't read that title. What does it say/how do you spell it? >>> Oh it's "Antidote". Wow ViperGFX wit another error, lol! They put "Anticdote". Lol… Definitely feelin' that hook! I love that plain/underground beat! I like those fast "*insert words here* antidote" in tha hook! Nothin' really much to say… My Rating: 3.9

20. 9-V Feat. D-So & T-Lo "The Dumb Way"
Make that 3 songs wit an ID error in a row I think. This was my favorite joint off of A-Mar & Dyl's "Raggz 2 Riches". I knew it had to of been somethin' familiar when I heard tha first millisecond of tha intro. >>> Oh wait this ain't that "Dumb Way" song. What's this one? Sounds like David Banner produced this? Yeah I'm real confused here… Shit this iz from somewhere but WHERE? Iz it another Hood Fab song? Sorry tha confusion iz really throwin' me off… Can't really say anything. All them other "Dumb Way" songs I heard were better. My Rating: 3.1

21. Lil' Young'n Feat. Lil' Josh "My Night"
Gotta definitely anticipate a new artist wit "Lil'" in their name. And yeah, it's "my night" to review this. That's why I'm still up when I'm really tired, lol. >>> Didn't expect Lil' Young'n to be a female. That's disappointing to my anticipation level for me, but she was not bad on her part. She gave tha song some club flava. And they left Lil' Josh out of tha ID. What's wit all these errors? I gotta count at tha end. My Rating: 3.3

22. Chasyuh "Uh Huh"
I'm slowly fallin' asleep. Can this joint keep me awake 'til tha end?? >>> Flowin' iz good, and tha song sounds pretty good overall. Tha flow iz a nice standout! My Rating: 4.0

23. DeTrane "Jigg City Radio Outro"
And what do you got to say? >>> Once again, good outro. My Rating: N/A

Overall: End Time: 1:15 AM. Yeah real nice beginning, and tha 2nd ½ was kinda slippery wit some jointz, but definitely was feelin' tha heat on here fa'real! Once again DeTrane, I hope you get recovered SUPA FAST, and I have no clue when you're gonna read this. I wish I could print you a copy and show you it, but I don't think I can. Well I finna post it online tomorrow, so for whoever wants to check it out, check it out. I'm gonna post tha link as a… prolly a blog comment on your page. Keep doin' yo thang dawg! Oh yeah and tha errors. Lemme see how many there were (according to tha back cover):
1. Lil' Boosie iz not in tha ID as a feature on No. 2.
2. 3Deep iz one word, not 2 (as it says "3 Deep").
3 & 4. No. 10 & No. 15 should flow wit tha No. 5 title.
5. "U Gotta Luv Me Baby", not "Gotta Love Me Baby"
6. A-Mar, not "Amar".
7. Nu$$ie iz not in tha ID as a feature on No. 16.
8. Savage iz not in tha ID as a feature on No. 17.
9 & 10. That whole No. 18 ID iz wrong. The Alliance Feat. Lil' Boosie, Foxx, Juvenile, Gucci Mane, Webbie & Fabo (D4L) as tha artist (not "???"), and it's "Tattoo (Remix)" (that's tha real title).
11. No. 19 has a "c" in "Antidote" (spelled "Anticdote").
12. Lil' Josh iz not in tha ID as a feature on No. 21.
(and others)

^ So nearly ½ tha songs have errors. And that's why there's this great review of mine to make it look good!
