Review #1,854: G-Money "Ghetto Drama, Vol. 1: Who Can I Trust"

Reviewed on 11.22.2019 (Review #1,854)

Let’s keep these reviewz goin’… Here comes G-Money Ghetto Drama, Vol. 1: Who Can I Trust, released in 1999 on Money Talks Records! This his 2nd release; not sure why this iz Vol. 1, tho… Start Time: 3:21 PM | End Time: 4:28 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Dope piano in tha beat, here; nice lil’ intro! I agree wit tha “don’t trust no1” shit, especially now! My Rating: N/A

02. “I Represent Ma City” feat. Prophet
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Sounds pretty dope wit this beat, as well as how you comin’ through, on tha 1st verse! Sounds like you improved your flow/voice since tha last CD…! Nice lil’ hook, here; great lil’ collab, as this continues… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ like some good shit fa tha streetz, once again…! Tha rest of this shit pretty nice, as y’all keep tha street shit goin’… My Rating: 4.3

03. “Me Or You”
Producer: G-Money
>>> Sounds like a slower vibe; not too bad, for tha 1st verse, here… Tha hook sounds sad, with this “you used to be my homie” & all that… Tha rest of this ain’t too bad, tho I’ono how much I’d dig this one, due to I’m not ‘bout dat depression shit… My Rating: 3.0

04. “Copz” feat. Lucky Dogg, NRG & Warloc
Producer: G-Money
Didn’t I review this on tha last CD of yours? Only with this, it’s a “z,” not an “s,” in tha title… Also, looks like me on tha feature? It’s not, tho… >>> A 45-second intro, here; sounds good wit this beat, as well… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, as tha consistent rhymes are comin’… Tha hook sounds a lil’ catchy, here, despite it bein’ about “Copz.” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ okay, here; more consistency wit tha rhymes, too… Got tha 3rd verse comin’ at me, here, soundin’ good fa tha undaground, as well… Feelin’ tha attitude from tha dude on tha 4th verse, here, comin’ through wit tha rest of tha fam… My Rating: 4.0

05. “Got Me On Tha Run”
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ slow vibe, here, fa tha ‘90s’ dark side… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good; feelin’ tha laidbackness… Tha hook’s pretty nice; it’s tough dealin’ wit this bullshit we gotta go through ta get our freedom back… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ okay; don’t wanna feel depressed, tho… Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, as well; not too much my style but it aight… My Rating: 3.6

06. “Who Can I Trust (Street w/Intro)” feat. Krazy & Toot
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Nice lil’ intro ta get myself ready fa this one… Beat sounds good; a lil’ laidback, once again… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good wit how tha crooked streetz be… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, even tho this iz slowly soundin’ boring, with tha flows… My Rating: 3.5

07. “Sittin’ In Tha Penn” feat. Knowlege & Lucky Dogg
Producer: G-Money
Oh, five dayz of tha damn “penn” was enough! Even tha LD on tha feature, fa this title! >>> God, I’ono if I can tolerate this; sounds too depressing with tha “cell!” Likin’ tha melody, as it sounds like it samples somethin’, on tha hook. I’m glad I finally got tha “9 – 5,” as well as it bein’ durin’ tha night! Took a while to get tha right job and now, I’m dealin’ wit tha “sentencing,” just as what you’re talkin’ about, on tha 1st verse… Just as tha 1st verse hit home fa my current situation, here comes tha 2nd verse, soundin’ pretty rough, as well… Got tha 3rd verse comin’ through, soundin’ pretty rough, once again… “Shmokin’ weed […]; man, those were tha times.” I can’t wait fa those “times” of tha good ta come back…, ASAP!! Stayin’ patient, fa now, as I get through this nonsense… Now, usually, this shit wouldn’t be for me but because I’m goin’ through so much, I might rate it higher than I would expect to rate it… My Rating: 4.2

08. “I Get Bucked” feat. Menace & Tru-Thug
Producer: G-Money
>>> A hyped-up hook & vibe, here; sounds good… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice fa tha 5-0-4, here… Whoo @ tha 2nd verse! Feelin’ tha hyped-up flow & faster rhymes! Got tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ like a regular-soundin’ flow/verse; not bad… My Rating: 4.2

½time: For tha most part, this sounds like a good CD. A lil’ depressing, at times, even tho we’re here to get through tha depression! A 3.8-rated CD, currently; how will we continue?

09. “This World” feat. Gavin, Menace, Skandulust & Tru-Thug
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Back to tha depressin’ vibes… Sounds like a neva-changin’ “world,” wit tha hook’s content; I’ono… Got a different voice on tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ okay… Tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse sounds better wit tha flow; definitely consistent… Why an edit to “fuck niggaz,” at 1:45, on tha 2nd verse? Pretty gay… Anotha edit, too, smh! An okay/good verse, regardless; just ain’t like tha random editin’… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from a female, here, soundin’ nice… Damn, this whole track edited? I ain’t even pay attention to tha beginning, due to I always think everything’s explicit… Tha 4th verse okay, here; flow kinda boring, tho, as it’s a regular-paced flow/voice… My Rating: 2.7

10. “It’s A Dirty World (Freestyle)”
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat, even tho it reminds me of tha west, a lil’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad, here… No hook, here, as it’s a freestyle; a 2nd verse iz here, tho… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it a lil’ betta wit tha flow/soundin’… My Rating: 3.7

11. “Tryin’ To Get Paid”
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Sounds like an okay hook/vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s not bad, here… This track sounds a lil’ borderline between okay and not for me, tho, depending on tha “struggle.” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it str8, here; can’t say too much… Tha 3rd verse’s pickin’ up tha slack from tha other verses’ vibes, with some consistent rhymes, here… My Rating: 3.3

12. “Bounce Nigga Rock” feat. Lil’ Rob & Shuga
Producer: G-Money
>>> Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds cool fa a lil’ dancin’ song… Tha beat’s pretty nice, here, as well as tha energy on tha 1st verse… Got tha 2nd verse from a chick, here, soundin’ nice ta hear wit her energy… This vibe’s givin’ me a “Make ‘Em Say Ugh” vibe, so props fa tha energy… Tha rest of this sounds nice; at least there’s a club banga on this CD, finally… My Rating: 4.3

13. “Vengeance”
Producer: G-Money
>>> Cool lil’ beat, here… Hearin’ tha verse and it sounds like a gangsta story… Pretty rough; I’ono how much I can tolerate tha sad content, tho… My Rating: 3.6

14. “My Ghetto Family” feat. Geediboy, Knowlege, Lil’ Rob, Lucky Dogg, Mizz Hyde, NRG & Prophet
Producer: G-Money
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ beat, once again… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; gutta-soundin’ street content, here… Not too bad wit how Mizz Hyde appears wit her rappin’, here, as this shit keeps tha rhymes comin’… “Rhymes” and them hittin’ “like a uzi;” good shit! A lil’ too long fa a song wit no hook fa me, here… My Rating: 3.1

15. “Niggaz Wanna Get Him” feat. Lucky Dogg
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Sounds like some good production, as well as tha nice lil’ catchy hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, as this shit goes on… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ pretty nice, as this continues… Tha 3rd verse sounds good, here; can’t complain wit what y’all bring… My Rating: 3.7

16. “Who Can I Trust (Radio Edit)” feat. Krazy & Toot
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
See #6 fa tha review…

17. “I Did What I Had To” feat. Southern Girlz
Producer: Wydell “Fingers” Spotville
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat; almost sounds a lil’ more mainstream? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad… Once again, anotha rough song about life behind bars… Hearin’ tha hook from tha chicks and it sounds okay; kinda a guilty pleasure? I also think they sound like 702… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, as this progresses… My Rating: 3.5

Overall: Mainly, a laidback, struggle-soundin’ CD that wasn’t too bad fa me. Nothin’ really too spectacular but at least this brings more to tha Louisiana collection…

Reviewed on 8.01.2016 (Review #1,514)

Feelin’ kinda outta it, after workin’ 4 AM – 2 PM & then, 7:40 PM – 12:18 AM, yesterday. It’s almost like this day off of mine flies by… But, guess I gon have ta enjoy it with reviewz? Got YB up now with Self Investment (Hosted by $hop With Ken), courtesy of Self Investment Inc.! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’! Almost thought it was an older release but it’s a new one! Start Time: 3:46 PM | End Time: 5:04 PM

01. Intro ($hop With Ken Speaks)
Let’s hear it! >>> Wouldn’t’ve guessed it was your voice, at first, but it sounds nice with this intro beat… My Rating: N/A

02. “Lord I Just Wanna Know”
I’m also kinda outta it with my mood, right now, but I think this gon be on some next-level shit! $hop With Ken production… >>> Yeah, definitely pure; I can’t wait ta hear this whole entire CD!! Feelin’ tha different-than-usual voice, here, comin’ through wit tha catchy hook ova this Baton Rouge-soundin’ beat! Pure vibes at its finest! Good shit on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit that shit to get through life… As much as I love workin’, it’s really ruinin’ my happiness. Like, do I need to work 49 hours a week, six dayz a week? I have almost no time fa nothin’!! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice, here, just like tha 1st verse! That’s right: “Gotta eat, too!” I just helped a Baton Rouge rapper out a lil’ over a week ago! It’s like, if I’m eatin’, they eatin’! Cold ending? No extra hook? Nice, tho! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Dem Hands” feat. Scotty Cain, $hop With Ken & Lil’ Juan
Yeah! $hop With Ken & Nunu James on tha beat! >>> Yeah! We got a club vs. street-type banga, here; good hook! Definitely feelin’ tha energetic vibe in tha beat, here; gotta luv it!! Nice job wit tha hook, Y-Bizzle! Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here, comin’ through wit dat hot shit! Nice 1st ½ of tha 1st verse from Scotty and now, Ken on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse; definitely nice! Gotta luv when he raps!! Can’t wait fa that day when “lean” enters my life! Weed definitely took over in a nice way! I look at music differently! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, as you’re comin’ through wit dat energy! I almost thought this was gon be a song about money, money, money, but it’s all about layin’ down “dem hands!” Continuin’ wit tha 3rd verse from Juan, here, spittin’ consistent rhymes at its finest! Nice beat outro, here; not a cold-cold ending, lol! My Rating: 4.7

04. “Wake Up, Po Up”
Ken on da beat, again! >>> “Oh!” I’m feelin’ excited fa this start, here; can’t wait ta hear! Really slow delivery on tha 1st verse, here; kinda sounds like today’s rappers with that slow flow… Now that tha beat kicked in, it sounds betta wit you comin’ through wit your slizzard-type rhymes; good shit! Tha hook sounds nice; gotta “pass out” wit dat feelin’! I ain’t get ta dat feelin’ wit tha “drank,” yet, but I’ve definitely gotten to it wit weed, geeb (gravity bong) hits & edibles! Tha feelin’ feels like it neva ends! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse and yeah, “You betta not spill it;” dumb shit! “Shit’s so purple, looks like Barney took a piss in my cup!” Gotta luv what you came up with there, YB!! Much faster with tha flow on tha 3rd verse, here; what a flow-changin’ song right chea!! Kinda diggin’ how you surprise me wit tha pace of tha flows on tha verses! “Whoooooooooo!! Drug life!!” Nice ending!! My Rating: 4.6

05. “When I Was Down” feat. Vintage Rippah & Li’ Rob
Keepin’ tha Ken productions goin’ (bet he produced tha whole entire CD)! >>> Sounds like it gon be an excitin’ joint based off tha beginning beat… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty catchy wit this beat! “I get drugged down”? You already know! My #01 addiction? Working!! Who works 14.91 inconsistent hours in a day, without knowin’?! Me! Crazy shit! Got tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ nice on this catchy joint… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; definitely feelin’ this voice fa this drugged-type shit!
”Xan barz got me up, actin’.” It’s like, who would’ve thought coffee would keep me active at work? Also, when I go to New York? Great! Tha 3rd verse’s even betta; diggin’ this fast-paced rappin’! Definitely southern at its finest, here! Luv tha rhymin’ letters! Tha “B.o.B.” shit with “Grand Hustle” and all those letters definitely nice!! My Rating: 4.3

06. Skit 1 (Durty South E Speaks)
Even this skit’s produced by Ken, too! >>> Nice lil’ background music with this on-tha-air-like broadcast! Yeah, this shit’s definitely nice! “Steaming hot bowel movement;” holy!! “We got ammunition fa yo ass and yo asshole!” LOL! Gotta luv it! I talk like that, too; instant shit!! My Rating: N/A

07. “Run Up A Check”
Kentacular! >>> “Forever Young!” F.Y.N.I.C.! I don’t really go for these kinda songs, so we’ll see how this goes… I’m really likin’ tha beat intro and how you’re comin’ through on tha intro… Yeah, tha hook’s kinda ehh, but I’m feelin’ it! It’s sad how I’m like this with my job! I neva felt like I was working for a “check,” but it seems like I’m addicted ta takin’ care of my job! It’s like, they don’t give me hours ‘cause of a “check!” They give me hours ‘cause we’re short-handed! With that bein’ said, it sounds like a lotta yada-yada, random-like rappin’ on tha 1st verse, here; I’ve heard betta… Shit, a ton of rappin’ on tha 2nd verse, here… It’s like, what’s goin’ on, lol? My Rating: 4.0

08. “Birthplace”
I remember this one! Kentastic!! Reviewed tha previous CD, Dedication Of Honor, last year, on July 29; this falls on August 1, 2016! Here goes that previous review:

“Really hot beat intro, despite bein’ very influenced by DJ Mustard (e.g., “Left, Right” by YG)… Wow, this really sounds like that song and “Thinkin’ With My Dick” (Kevin Gates & Juicy J) on tha hook, but it’s original production from Ken! Really diggin’ tha hook and this sounds catchy, just like a great 1st single from this CD! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it’s consistent with how you do it on tha beat! I can tolerate this “ass-shakin’” anthem and even tha money shit on tha hook! Damn @ tha 2nd verse; you don’t stop!! Just really diggin’ this anthem!! Nice job wit that bridge, or 3rd verse—whateva you wanna call it! Got a lot ta offer, here! And, nice beat outro ta end it off! Could possibly be somethin’ I consider for an add on my playlist? I’ono… We’ll see what mood I’m in, despite me fallin’ off from Louisiana, lately…”

This missed bein’ an add with me, last year. That’s prolly ‘cause I was too focused on lil’ girls at my job with “starting breaks,” avoiding a bunch of Louisiana artists, buyin’ co-workers cars & all that bullshit, smh! Louisiana’ll always be in tha veins!!! My Current Rating: 4.8

09. “Reppin’ Like You Steppin’” feat. Scotty Cain, Lee Banks & Li’ Rob
“Steppin’” down from Ken’s production with a Vintage Rippah one, here… >>> Not diggin’ tha beat tag outta nowhere, but it’s a nice lil’ beat fa this… This sounds like some nice lil’ undaground shit fa Baton Rouge, here… I’m feelin’ how you’re comin’ through on tha hook wit that dumb shit—dat street shit! Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit consistent rhymin’!! Definitely some nice shit; really feelin’ tha flow of rhymin’ way more than “Run Up A Check”! Holy, crazy beat sounds before tha 2nd hook!! Very consistent; marry tha beat!! Tha 2nd verse iz comin’ from Scotty Cain, here, comin’ through wit dat consistent rappin’ fa tha Rouge; definitely nice ova this beat! Great shit from Lee Banks on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit dat G-shit at its finest!! Definitely feelin’ him to tha max when tha beat goes nuts, before tha verse ends!! Here comes a 4th verse, here, from Rob, comin’ through wit some paranoid-type shit. “Stayin’ in tha house;” I used ta be like dat but now, I need ta get out! It’s almost like why these reviewz are delayed a lil’… Either way, definitely some dumb shit to tha max, here!! My Rating: 4.6

10. “Broski’s” feat. Tazz
First time seein’ this as a title, includin’ with an apostrophe. I usually don’t spell plural forms of words with apostrophes, but I’ll let this one slide, for now… Ken on da beat! >>> Really slow start, but I’m really feelin’ tha bass in this beat, this time! Really lovin’ hoooooooooow yoooooooooou delivvvvvvvvvvver tha hook, especially that title! Yeah, definitely diggin’ this title/tha word, “Broski!” Definitely an excellent hook; you easily pass any test!! Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some nice shit, wit patnaz always holdin’ it down fa each other… Unfortunately, I don’t believe in any of dat ‘cause no1 really has my back like I have others’… It’ll prolly be like that till tha day I die, but I learned one thing: I tried ta make money off this music shit but instead, I gon be payin’ my favorite artists, instead! I feel like they deserve rewards! Not just awards, but rewards! Thought I would feel tha Tazz dude a lil’ more on tha 2nd verse, here, but he reminds me way too much of Ty Dolla $ign with how he sounds/delivers/sings his rhymes… Either way, can’t complain about this joint, overall… Kinda sucks how this gon rank way behind a bunch of jointz on here… Kinda long, overall? Ain’t thank it was gon be 4:53! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Dirty Dinero”
Lots of jointz on this tape!! Ken got anotha one!! >>> What can I say, so far…? Hmm… It sounds like you got tha energy on this one; definitely nice wit how you comin’ wit it! Definitely diggin’ this catchy hook! It may be about money but this heavy bass and how you say tha title’s definitely catchin’ on wit me! Lots of random rappin’ on tha 2nd verse, here, like tha “Run Up A Check” joint… My Rating: 4.1

½time: This tape’s definitely got a ton of heat on it, just like I expected!! Tha beats are pure; tha rhymes are definitely nice; tha collabz are definitely sick!! What more can I say?! A 4.4-rated CD, so far; gotta luv it!! Keep this shit goin’!! Anotha 12 jointz!!

12. “Yungin Fasho” feat. $hop With Ken
Can’t wait ta hear, as always! Kentastic!! >>> A Ken intro/straight to tha 1st verse, here; gotta luv it! Tha beat’s pretty nice and yeah, gotta luv Ken’s “diamonds in [his] teeth!” I used his teeth—well, anyone’s—as an expression to describe how I feel about when people hate/get jealous of me at my job! Tha hook sounds nice from YB; good shit! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here… Ehh, kinda random like tha last song’s rhymin’; I expected betta… Ken gets tha crown on this one; definitely nice, especially comin’ through on tha 1st and not 2nd verse… A beat outro, here, as well as a siren…; nice! My Rating: 4.0

13. Skit 2 (Durty South E Speaks)
Anotha Ken production! Anotha skit!! >>> A fast beat start before tha radio announcement comes through… Damn! A 4:02-length skit? Still, it sounds nice ta hear… Beat kinda sounds like a Jeezy-type beat in tha background; nice… I’ont get how dudes, like one of my boyz, can just make out wit one chick from NY that he neva met, but people won’t buy my CD on tha spot? I’ont get it? “Smells like asshole;” of course, who don’t like tha smell of shit? I do!! My pre-weed since 13!! Wonder what was reversed? I can check it, but I’ont feel like checkin’ it, at tha moment… My Rating: N/A

14. “1 Call Away” feat. Aerie
I have a feelin’ this gon be my least-favorite track on here… Was thinkin’ it was gon be a Charlie Puth remake, but there’s Ken on tha beat, so there could be a chance… >>> Beat’s real hot, here, with these sounds outta nowhere… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s semi-random with tha rappin’, but it sounds good ta hear! I’ono if I can feel this hook, but it’s not bad; kinda sounds like a random chick… Almost thought it was Dat Boy A’s chick… Aerie even has a verse on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through, just keepin’ tha vibe goin’… I prolly would’ve rather her just be on tha hook and you have anotha verse, Y-Bizzle; kinda draggin’… My Rating: 3.8

15. “Flexico City”
! ! ! ! ! K E N ! ! ! ! ! >>> A shorter joint, here, with 2:39 on tha length! Tha beat sounds pretty nice and you’re comin’ through wit some nice shit on tha 1st verse! You’ll go down in history as one of my younginz! I’m five years older than you and I’ve been followin’ you since day 1; that ain’t gon change! Tha hook sounds pretty nice and regular for a hook about gunz. I honestly thought it was gon be about flexin’ err-where, lol… Beat kinda went in tha background and there was only one verse… I’m likin’ how this was set up, altogether; nice! My Rating: 4.0

16. “Fugazi” feat. Razy Ray
More Ken heat!! >>> This sounds like a catchy one; think you got a winna, here! Definitely diggin’ tha hook, as well as tha how you deliver it! Nice, deep-soundin’ southern beat!! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, here, Bizzle! Now, we got a new dude, here (Razy Ray), comin’ through, feelin’ like tha next fresh boy out there… We’ll have to see how his career gon go; this a nice start, tho! My Rating: 4.2

17. “What’s Your Purpose”
No features and produced by Prince GT… >>> Beat sounds like a regular southern-type beat, here… Tha hook ain’t too bad; I’m kinda diggin’ this title and how this sounds… Let’s see how we gon do on tha verses… Here’s tha 1st verse and one of those sound effects once tha verse started sounded familiar… Wow, this was a short joint; not bad… My Rating: 3.9

18. “Go Hard”
Continuin’!! Back to dem Ken onez!! >>> Sounds like a catchy joint, here, with this beat from Ken! Nice beginning, here! I’m diggin’ this hook; you definitely sound like a nice influence ta make artists “go hard!” Good shit; definitely diggin’ tha hook, Bizzle! Tha 1st verse sounds nice, here, as you’re consistently deliverin’ some rhymes, here; good shit! And now, you got tha fast rappin’ goin’ on with tha 2nd verse; I’ono, but I’ll give it credit, this time! My Rating: 4.3

19. “We Good”
Kentacular!! >>> Kinda sounds interesting with this beat start, here; let’s see what gon come outta this one… Tha rhymes from you on tha 1st verse sounds nice; feelin’ tha real-life-type shit on this kinda beat… Tha hook ain’t too bad, here… Yeah, fuck tha “labels;” gotta get it out tha mud! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; gotta keep it real! My Rating: 4.1

20. “Mind Games” feat. Blue Black
Tha other “Blue Black”, here (not “BluBlack” from Gardere, I don’t think), with Ken on tha beat… >>> Kinda sounds like some older music in tha beginning; how will y’all do? A decent hook, here, with a decent beat… I’m surprised that I like tha “1 Call Away” betta than this, so far… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and I’m diggin’ all your rhymes, here; gotta lay it down! Hearin’ this 2nd verse from this Blue Black dude and it doesn’t even sound like either Blue Black? Maybe it’s ‘cause I ain’t hear that Blue Black dude in a long while… I’ll consider Blue Black tha same dude as that Lit BlueBlack dude I heard, back five years ago, or so… It was a decent verse, though I feel bored… My Rating: 3.7

21. “RN$” feat. Que Tha Truth
I think he “Tha”, like me, not “The”. But, Kenville!! >>> Beat sounds nice and chill, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and here you are, spittin’ some rhymes, soundin’ a lil’ random wit tha flow of tha rhymes… Tha hook’s simple and plain; decent… Hearin’ Tha Truth on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit a nice-soundin’ voice on this one; good shit, so far… Yeah, gotta rock dem “Polo boxers;” hate when rappers be on dat Wal-Mart-type Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, regular-store-sellin’ boxers; fuck dat! I only fuck wit celebrities!! Nice verse, overall; good, chill shit… My Rating: 3.9

22. “Murder 187” feat. Doonie
I’m pretty sure I know this one, right before I got my job… *Checks…* Yeah, I was right. What I said, previously:

“Pretty nice; I saw a pic of Doonie & Ken in tha studio, recently. Anyway, I’m diggin’ tha hook; good shit from YB on tha 1st verse, comin’ through consistently about this “187”-type shit. Now, let’s hear tha 2nd verse from Doonie, here… Sounds pretty nice, so far… I know he branchin’ his reputation wit dat Heartfelt CD, but this sounds like Doonie deep in dat undaground, tha way I first heard about him over [eight] years ago—it was [eight] years on February 23!”

Dumb shit!! My Current Rating: 4.5

23. Outro (YB Speaks)
No producer this time, lol? Let’s hear what you got ta say for tha ending… >>> Still keep fa’gettin’ this only your “2nd solo project;” feels like you dropped so many! What about a shout out ta me? Can’t fa’get about me! Either way, nice way ta end this fa a “Self Investment!” My Rating: N/A

Overall: Tha 1st ½ of this was pretty dope, as I was lovin’ each and every track. Tha 2nd ½ of it started to get a lil’ decent and had a bunch of shit that sounded random ta hear, on tha flows and shit. However, this definitely turned out ta be consistent and some great shit ta enjoy! Nice job, YB! Classic dude! Keep shittin’ on ‘em!!

Review #1,385: Vintage Rippah "Keep It Vintage"

Reviewed on 3.16.2014 (Review #1,385)

Tryna get tha reviewz over with, while I can. I may have a life-changing moment tomorrow, so by that being a possible transition point fa me, it’s time to clean up! Today’s 1st review iz Vintage Committee’s Vintage Rippah Keep It Vintage; let’s see how it goes… Start Time: 11:24 AM | End Time: 12:07 PM

If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

01. “Talk Much”
Self-produced, here, fa tha intro track, I see… Let’s get into this… >>> Beat “intro” sounds like an outta-nowhere/debut-single joint I’d hear from someone I haven’t heard for tha 1st time. A repetitive hook, here; catchy… Tha 1st verse sounds good wit your random rhymes. I hate that line: “Man, fuck a nigga; I don’t owe shit.” People have came through wit that kinda perspective at me, and it makes me look shitty, especially since I do so much fa peeps… Tha 2nd verse sounds catchier; sounds like what you’re doin’ on a daily basis, though a Migos flow. My Rating: 4.2

02. “I Told You I Was Dumb”
More self-produced music; lookin’ forward to hearin’! >>> Didn’t know you were “19.” However, tha sound in tha beginning of this beat sounds like DJ B-Real’s production for Bubba’s 2011 single, “Polo Everythang”; sounds pretty similar, but this iz nice, too! Some good vibes of Baton Rouge… Here’s tha 1st verse, wit you comin’ through wit some consistent, BR street-like rhymes; I’m feelin’ tha flow a lot! Great flow and consistency on tha 2nd verse, once again! So, since you said you were “19,” and this iz an Early 2014 release, you must be born in 1994? If so, I’m, like, tha Savage to you, as Savage iz to me (six year differences). Feels odd for me to rep that position, but cool at tha same time. My Rating: 4.5

03. “Willy Wonka”
Not a fan of tha title, but again, more self-produced music… >>> This beat sounds pretty anticipatin’; sounds like good, internet-rap, and a catchy hook, surprisingly. Catchy rhymes in tha 1st verse; lots of consistent rhymes!! Each song so far seems to have a good source of consistency! Tha 2nd verse has a different side of catchiness to it, as you’re tellin’ a story about “Mr. Willy Wonka;” nice, and when you say, “He don’t like to talk much,” I think of myself with Asperger’s Syndrome. My Rating: 4.3

04. “226”
$hop With Ken beat. >>> Gay beat tag in tha beginning; I hate when it’s a song snippet or whateva. But, beat’s nice, just like your beats. Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and it’s not bad, so far… Hearin’ tha hook, and it sounds like some old No Limit-like shit wit tha “soulja; I thought I told ya.” Catchy fa a BR perspective! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; nice that it’s only 2:30, too. I almost thought there was gonna be a 3rd verse, but nice outro, too. Nice “Lil’ Ken” shout outs, but nah @ tha “money in my pocket” shit; I don’t fuck wit “money.” My Rating: 4.3

05. “Answer For Ya”
Self-produced. >>> No “dick-suckin’-tune” fa me, in 2014; really? Just skipped it after, like, three seconds! My Rating: 1.0

06. “Plottin’” Feat. Mista Cain
Boring-as-fuck feature with Ken on tha beat… >>> Good street vibe, and wit Ken on tha beat, I can see why tha vibe’s good. That boring Mista on tha 1st verse, and smh: “Eva since they took my yungin, all I do iz get drunk;” low self-esteem? I don’t get it… Thank God I neva lost anyone, currently! Though I ear-dodge his lyrics, tha vibe fits, so it’s good; at least it ain’t auto-tune! And, you’re back to normal on tha 2nd verse, and I’m likin’ tha ‘90s bounce-like vocals (e.g., “you tha shit”)! Rhymes are decent, but good for tha streetz. My Rating: 4.2

07. “The Player’s Club”
A Q-Red beat; how was that piss with him? I’m sure that’s what you had to do to catch his attention, right? >>> Nice orgasm in tha beginning? Why does this “need-to-take-a-piss-with-you-to-be-accepted” producer keep producing R&B, all of a sudden? Even took Kellz’s track from back in tha day? Well, we all know I can’t comment on tha production, so I’m just gonna move onto you on tha 1st verse… Catchy flow; props fa bein’ “on Xanex,” lol. Good verse, overall. However, because of tha hook and producer, I’m just wishin’ this would end, already! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, and although you said, “Eat dat ham up,” neva say dat to B-Real! He’ll think you’re callin’ him gay, and he’ll call you a faggot, in return! Neva forget 4/11…/13! Nice track, though tha hook—in a Q-Red production—gets to me, like a diabetic eatin’ too much chocolate, ready to die! My Rating: 3.7

08. “Day 1 Niggaz” Feat. Lil’ Rob
Self-produced; not a fan of this kinda title at all, since no one fucks wit me wit my mixtape compilations and services. Also, as far as me in person, I can’t get no one to help me out wit shit, so technically, I have “niggaz-who-don’t-last-more-than-three-years” niggaz. Kinda weird, to me, to have someone I knew all my life… >>> Didn’t expect ta hear an East Coast-like style fa tha beat, here; sounds okay, so far… Nice rhymes from you on tha 1st verse, and yea, you confirmed it: “Born in ’94.” Tha hook’s kinda boring; like I said, I can’t relate to it. I can’t imagine: “I’m still cool wit tha dude I met in 2002.” My oldest connects are from ’05, and friends are as old as ’08. I was 17 & 20, so it’s almost like “Day 1”’s literal, in your sense, if you were in my shoes. Anyway, this Lil’ Rob dude sounds nice on tha 2nd verse; catchy voice and rhymes! But, why tha 11 seconds of silence, at tha end? I gotta fix up these files a lil’ bit, now, though most of tha tracks have no silence. My Rating: 3.6

½time: So far, so good wit your tracks; great production and lots of great tracks! Only one terrible track, which screwed your average CD rating to only a 3.7, right now. Would’ve been a 4.1 if you only knew betta!

09. Soulja Conversation (Interlude)
An interlude, I see; lookin’ forward to hearin’! >>> “Magnolia Slim” on tha phone, here? Was there even tha sayin’, “tha yo,” back before he died? Must be a different version of him? I dunno, but nice interlude! I like how you’re anticipatin’ tha “smoke” and shit! My Rating: N/A

10. “Crooked Youth”
Interestin’ title, with you on tha beat. >>> Real high anticipation for tha beginning wit tha, “I’m in tha studio wit my boxers, ya heard me;” dumb shit!! That’s what it’s about, though, ain’t tha “studio” always ‘pose to be colder? Either way, catchy hook and this weird “youth.” Tha 1st verse sounds good, too; lots of Juvenile “Ha” influences and references, on tha end of tha lines! Though I’m not a fan of rip-offs, I gotta give this a lotta props fa its catchiness! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too, and yea, you mentioned, “Girbauds;” I’m wearin’ ‘em, as we speak! Whoo @ tha catchiness of this track, overall!! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Ghetto Livin’” Feat. Que Tha Truth
You produced it, so let’s go into y’all’s “ghetto,” here! >>> Sounds like an East Coast-like beat, but at least it’s less than three minutes long! Ahh, you gotta quit tha beat tags in all these songs, especially since they’re your tracks! “Now that I’m a lil’ older,” huh? I’m almost 26, and I don’t feel like I’m “a lil’ older,” yet; still waitin’ on that job—tha next transition point in my life! Nineteen was when I wrote/produced my 1st original track, “Who I Am”, on August 19, 2007! Anyway, nice rhymes from you, as you’re survivin’. I almost thought my mixtape compilation, Tha Louisiana Archives, was gonna not survive, but luckily, some people believed in me, will be sendin’ money soon, and yes, Thursday, I will have my 17th volume! Not feelin’ tha Lil’ Phat knockoff before tha 2nd verse… We got Que on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit nice rhymes. A good voice, though I almost wanna cringe for it nearly soundin’ like a Cain! My Rating: 4.0

12. “Gwaupo”
Yucko, on tha title, produced by you… >>> Bad intro, as your voice’s nearly changed, includin’ it bein’ about “money.” No @ tha hook, as it has background vocals like that Ca$h Out dude! Even tha lyrics are on that “cheesy shit, like” Ca$h Out! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and how random that “Lil’ Issue just got out tha pen fa some of dat murda shit;” fa real? Well, no Ca$h Out-like delivery on tha 1st verse, here; it’s okay, though this track ain’t fa me, at all! Maybe, before November 17, 2011, I would’ve enjoyed this, a lil’ bit, but life changes when you get robbed! It’s almost like you get shot/survive and raped! “That 1-2-17 my birthday;” can’t connect what day that iz, lol? Anyway, not bad for tha 2nd verse. My Rating: 2.3

13. “OG Told Me” Feat. Lee Banks
Anotha Vintage Rippah beat; let’s see… >>> Wasn’t sure what kinda beat to expect wit tha vinyl scratch, in tha beginning… Sounds East Coast-y, but sounds good wit your rhymes, on tha 1st verse. Props fa your “skin” fa “not bein’ vanilla;” black power, at its finest! Not bad wit tha verse, and tha hook’s pretty nice. Lee on tha 2nd verse, here; diggin’ his street vibe, and good lyrics! Forget tha “I’m almost famous;” undaground ‘til tha end! I remember when I was 19, and my aunt wanted to get my debut single on one of tha pop stations. I immediately was like, “No…!” My Rating: 3.9

14. “Sample Play”
Keepin’ your tracks comin’ along with… >>> Not likin’ that repeatin’ “soul” thing in tha beginning… Oh, “song…” Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and I don’t think your fast flow works on this beat; sounds random. Tha hook’s random, but good; damn, this 3:44? Prolly could’ve been a minute shorter, like most of tha other jointz on here… No wonder why it’s long: this a pretty long hook/pre-hook combination. Ehh, no need for “tha sample [to] play.” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and you’re already no longer in “school”? Weird ‘cause around tha age of 18/19, I was finally bein’ vocal with people—black people, too. Well, beginning May 28, 2003, at age 14, I was rappin’ 4-bar verses to people, though I thought they didn’t take me serious, when they would ask me to rap 100’s of times… When I say, “didn’t take me serious,” I note that I neva went to anyone’s house, neva hung out, etc.; hard without a car, back in tha day! My Rating: 3.1

15. “The Vintage”
Everythang “vintage,” like Stevie Ryan, here… >>> Nice “shit yeah” in tha beginning… Beat sounds like some older-styled southern music… Even “fuckin’” at 19, too? Lots of rhymes on this 1st verse, too; a lil’ catchy—just a lil’… Long verse, though—oh wait, I already heard this, back on 31st Deedy’s Street Lights: Episode 2, not too long ago. I feel a lil’ betta than my original 3.7 rating, though. My Current Rating: 3.9

16. Outro
Dot…dot…dot… >>> Soulja Slim, again? Sounds like a nice sample… Ending your CD wit tha beat tag… *Yawn* My Rating: N/A

Overall: Wow, time flew with this one! I enjoyed reviewin’ this! A few doozies that cost tha average CD rating to drop, but for tha most part, you’re a good rapper/producer; one-man-bandin’ it like me! Keep up tha great, solo work!
