Happy New Year! My New Year’s resolution iz to finally make it to tha Boot! I have a trip planned in tha works! Now, I just need to get tha time off of work! Will it happen? Tha future will tell!! For now, here comes my 1^st review of 2017, which shoulda been my final one of 2016! After this review, I’m goin’ straight to my old Louisiana Reviewz Marathon CDs to review, that I’ve been tryna review since May 1, 2009! For now, here’s Baton Rouge Music Company Music Is My Hustle 2! DeTrane in tha buildin’! Start Time: 8:15 PM | End Time: 9:17 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Lookin’ forward ta hearin’! >>> I’m feelin’ tha whistlin’ beat intro, here… I’ono if it’s ‘cause I’m comin’ off a high or somethin’, but I’m feelin’ how this sounds! “Smoke a blunt;” of course! Two today! Worked, two blunts, no nap!! Great way to start tha year off! Beat’s definitely pure for tha Boot and so iz tha hook! Good shit! Tha 1^st verse’s pretty nice wit this Rouge vs. real-life shit; definitely dope! Just when so many artists either quittin’ or makin’ mainstream-soundin’ bullshit, here comes some quality, Baton Rouge music, without all that cocky bullshit! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2^nd verse, here, spittin’ facts! My Rating: 4.5

04. B-Trell “Fuck Ya”

“Fuck” right, even tho I’ono know about him… >>> Regardless, this sounds nice ta hear! Great job wit what he rappin’ off of, here; definitely nice! Feelin’ tha troublemaker-type vibe on tha hook, here; dope… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and B-Trell sound like tha life of tha “party,” here… Tha 2^nd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear, too; good shit for tha streetz! My Rating: 4.3

Let’s see, here… >>> I’m feelin’ tha repetitive vibe about “the weekend” on tha hook, here; definitely nice ta hear! Tha chick in tha background definitely nice ta hear, as an addition! Feelin’ how T-Bo comin’ through on tha 1^st verse, here, spittin’ it for dem chicks/bitches… Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2^nd verse from T-Bo, here; can’t complain… Witness, of course, bringin’ tha A+ heat on tha 3^rd verse, here; always a plus! My Rating: 4.4

06. Yak Nasty “That Nigga” “Slidin’ In The Bucket”

Let’s hear this dude for tha 1^st time… >>> Likin’ tha violin in tha beat/background, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s simple-type shit that sounds catchy for tha mainstream or somethin’… I don’t mind this much at all, but this’ll prolly be one of tha wackest-soundin’ tracks on here for normal people? I’ono… I’m enjoyin’ it, tho. Tha verses are catchy, even tho it sounds a lil’ quiet? My Rating: 4.0

Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! Props fa continuin’! >>> Sounds different, once again; diggin’ tha slow, street vibe! I’ono if it was ‘cause I fell off, but err-body soundin’ all brand-new, now! Tha hook’s pretty tight, here! Definitely feelin’ tha perspective for tha “gang”—“Gangland,” that iz! Nice shit on tha 2^nd verse, too, keepin’ this shit goin’! I honestly feel like it’s like 10 years ago, when I first heard tha Jimmy The DJ & DeTrane mixtapes! Neva agin’! Tha 3^rd verse’s pretty nice, here; good shit! My Rating: 4.5

09. ChaYsuh feat. Terrabull Tef “Fuck Ya”

Beat sounds nice and ChaY sound good on tha 1^st verse, holdin’ shit down… Tha hook sounds nice with this aggression/anthemic sound; great with tha female! Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and this must be this Terrabull? First time I’m hearin’ and it sounds like one of those cool rappers from tha early 2000’s that you hear for tha 1^st time! Nice 1^st impression from me! “Fuck yeah! Fuck yeah!” And, you got tha 3^rd verse on lock, too, ChaYs! Nice beat ending, too! My Current Rating: 4.2

Let’s see “what [she] got,” this time… >>> I’ono, but I’m feelin’ how X-Fyle be producin’ for her! Anotha hit-soundin’ song fa my reviewz! Feelin’ this singin’ throughout tha verses and beat! My Rating: 4.1

Let’s hear it! >>> I’m feelin’ tha dark-soundin’ street beat, here; good shit! This sounds nice ta hear; not sure what else I can say? Consistent rappin’ ova this nice beat… Tha “chalk”-creatin’ hook sounds nice ta hear, too… My Rating: 4.2

½time: Some tracks on tha back cover don’t match tha order of some of tha tracks on tha files… But, I’m definitely feelin’ this compilation, so far! Definitely got shit on lock, once again, fa tha 2K16/2K17, Trane! A 4.3-rated CD, currently! Keep it up wit these quality-soundin’, A+-soundin’ BR artists!!

>>> Sounds good, once again! Diggin’ this beat and tha vibe he bringin’ to tha street track, here… Tha 1^st verse’s pretty nice ta hear, here; good shit! Tha hook’s pretty nice, too, comin’ through wit dem “hitz!” Tha 2^nd verse’s soundin’ nice, strictly holdin’ this shit down! “Tha police always follow me;” ouch! My Rating: 4.3

13. Kell “Letter To My Son”

Yeah!! Hearin’ tha hook and I like how it sounds like a gutta tale with tha beat and how Kell sounds… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it sounds good; deliverin’ like a G! I like how he say, “That he miss you,” as well as tha lil’ background, “Trippy, mane;” nice! Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and it’s soundin’ betta fa me; likin’ this story! Usually, these kinda songs ain’t really fa me, but tha beat helps keep my interest up… Also, I’m interested in your story! My Current Rating: 4.5

14. T-Bo “White Boy Swag”

Haven’t I heard before? Looks really old or somethin’? I’ono, but that’s what I see when I see this kinda title… >>> Ya Boy Earl in tha intro; really? Ain’t this your mixtape, DeTrane? A nice beat ta rap off of, but a lil’ cocky/show-off-y… Still, I don’t mind it, tho… My Rating: 3.8

15. DeTrane feat. Jay Sloan “L.L.L.D.”

Le’see… >>> Likin’ tha beat start, here… And, here you are, rappin’ on tha 1^st verse; nice ta hear, outta nowhere! DeTrane music fittin’ in wit these times of my manager & that enemy I deal with at my job! They don’t respect me enough ‘cause I’m tha Nu$$ie / Kevin Gates / Boosie of my job!! An aight flow; decent rhymes, here, on tha 1^st verse… “Live, Lust, Love, Die”? Nice, catchy hook from tha Trane! Sloan on tha 2^nd verse, here, comin’ through, doin’ a nice job wit this collab… It reminds me of nice lil’ undaground rap I’d hear on tha college radio stations up here in Northeast PA throughout 2003, lol! Love those feelings! My Rating: 4.6 (highest-rated track, so far, even tho it was only “aight” on tha verses, at times!)

>>> Pretty serious sounds comin’ from tha beginning… Sounds like a catchy lil’ hook after tha nice lil’ beat intro… Props for Mr. Carolinah for holdin’ tha hook down! Tha 1^st verse’s soundin’ nice! Kinda reminds me of a newer version of Yung Sicka, here… Crazy 2^nd ½ of tha 1^st verse wit that beat!! Tha 2^nd verse sounds kinda decent, here; not bad… I’ono, but tha 1^st verse sounded way better? Tha 3^rd verse decent but that crazy beat toward tha end of tha verse iz where it’s at!! My Rating: 4.4

17. Kell “Lyrics Like Pills”

Thought tha beat was gon be faster, but it’s really slow… I expect him ta slaughter this one! Sounds like a regular-soundin’ rap song fa tha south, but it still cool… Nice rhymes, regardless… My Current Rating: 4.0

18. Jay Sloan feat. Dez Dynamic “My Way”
>>> I’m likin’ tha slow beat intro, here… It progresses into a faster-soundin’ track… Lol, more BPM than tha usual? Almost reminds me of a Mark Ronson-type song or somethin’? Guessed 120 BPM for tha BPM and it’s actually 120.70 (rounded up to 121)! Tha 1^st verse’s pretty nice ta hear ova this beat! Even tho this track kinda sounds like some shit you’d rock a suit and tie to, I really am feelin’ it in a special “way!” Nice job wit tha 2^nd verse, here, holdin’ shit down in a different way… And, a bridge? Singin’, kinda like it’s tha rap version of Calvin Harris’ “My Way”, lol. Speakin’ of Calvin, who knew, right before I first discovered DeTrane on tha night of February 24, 2008, I first heard Calvin Harris on Music Choice Electronica! Now, every1 knows him! If I woulda talked about him in a review in 2008, no1 woulda known who I was talkin’ ‘bout, lol! My Rating: 4.5

19. Zippa Castro “Dolla Signs”
>>> Even tho I don’t fuck wit these kinda tracks since my times bein’ robbed, I do think this sounds catchy. Nice job wit tha catchiness, Zipp!! Tha 1^st verse sounds great fa a hustle; can’t deny it, luckily… Tha 2^nd verse’s pretty nice ta hear, too, strictly on tha grind… My Rating: 4.3

21. Keazy Lutchie “I’m Gon Survive”

Back cover says, ““I’m Goin’ Survive”;” “Goin’?” Either way, I wanna hear this newbie ta end thangz off! >>> “I’m” likin’ tha slow beat and tha “flashing lights” shit wit tha hook, here; good shit! Tha 1^st verse’s soundin’ nice, here; great job layin’ it down wit how it’s rough growin’ up, sometimes! Tha 2^nd verse’s pretty nice, too, deliverin’ this real-life shit like it’s nothin’! Great story… My Rating: 3.9

22. Alvin Ray “Giving Up”

>>> I ain’t expect much from this but it sounds nice wit how he singin’ tha hook ova this beat! Tha 1^st verse’s pretty nice wit this rappin’. When y’all talk about bein’ “daddy” and shit like that in y’all 20’s, I feel like y’all grow up real fast or somethin’. Still, much betta than what I expected with tha 1^st verse! Great job layin’ it down! Now, a lil’ sample after tha 1^st verse… Tha 2^nd verse’s pretty nice; love when he raps! Long track but this shit don’t stop! A 3^rd verse, here, spittin’ dat real, southern shit! My Rating: 4.4

23. DeTrane “Outro”

Time ta end this quick, excellent mixtape! >>> Where will we be one year from now, when that “next mixtape drops?” Can’t wait ta see what tha rest of this year gon bring! A lil’ dry wit how you deliverin’ tha outro, here, wit tha voice… Uh, what about me? Where’s my shout out? Still waitin’ for that day where it’s an automatic thing and not just somethin’ that I have to be told about! I wanna be surprised! Haven’t reached that important point, yet! That’s why, I ain’t on Facebook and barely post, anymore! My Rating: N/A

Overall: I really liked this mixtape, even tho nothin’ really obsessively struck me. Still, almost every track had a special vibe to it! Great job wit tha selection and exclusives, DeTrane! Gotta keep tha undaground music world of Baton Rouge alive, while tha undaground’s slowly dyin’! Can’t let it die! We’re all not “old” for this!!

Almost reminds me of what tha intro sounded like, just by lookin’ at tha title; how will dis go? >>> Ooh, a slower version of what I’d expect from you, trap style! How cool were you wit Sheen~Marie? Really likin’ tha content, here; nothin’ but dem drugs, lol! Tha “president’s black…” shit was too cliché and appeared outta nowhere; really, people still talk about Obama, lol? My Rating: 4.5

LOL… Why do these producers have to have different sides to them? Gets annoyin’ at times… Too quiet of a song afta tha previous songs… At least tha lyrics are on a Baton Rouge level on tha 1st verse but this hook’s way too soft fa you, Yella… LOL, tha song iz soft but there’s all “traphouse” shit in tha 2nd verse? Weird-ass mix but I don’t mind what comes outta your mouth … Interestin’ feature from D-So, too… My Current Rating: 3.6

>>> Tha quality sounds a lil’ decreased in tha beginning; jacked? Sounds good, trap style. Tha vocalizin’ sounds cliché; not sure how much I gon buy dis… SMH @ tha start to tha 1st verse? LOL, I do radio play for free! You don’t need thousands of dollars, illegally! As for tha song, itself, this iz good wit what you got. My Rating: 4.1

I don’t think I noticed his voice back then, though. Tight shit here and I’m glad it’s here! Didn’t realize Young Hits rapped, lol? Also, made tha track, too… Tha hook sounds tight; luv tha vibe here!!! Tha title sounds good, too; interestin’ shit here!! Here’s tha 1st verse; good job collaboratin’!! ROFL @ tha 2nd verse! I luv when I hear “titties” in raps!! I thought it was Young Slimm dat was listed as tha 2nd verse? Tha previous time I saw dis, Lil’ Boonie wasn’t listed, but he’s really in this song? Anyway, dude did his thang fa dis shit right chea!! He really showin’ his ass off in tha streetz, here; definitely sounds betta on his verse, too, fa some reason!! Ooh, it’s Camp on tha beat, this time, bringin’ dat hot shit like “Dope Money”! Tha hook’s definitely nice wit dis beat and tha anticipation I have fa dis!! Ooh @ :53 in tha beat; feelin’ those sounds!!! Big Scoob sounds good fa a comeback and all dat on tha 2nd verse… I know tha name Thug Addict; prolly only heard him once or twice. Tha beat sounds real, real good but I dunno about startin’ off wit all tha Nu$$ie shit… Tha hook’s definitely hotness, here; catchy-ass Yella!! Speakin’ of Yella, here you are on tha 1st verse, doin’ ya thang!! Boosie sounds good on tha 2nd verse wit how he’s showin’ you luv, to tha fullest. He sounds kinda calm on tha verse, though; less energetic, lol. Classic “Nu$ie Alive”-type music for me so I’m glad it’s a part of tha family here! My Current Rating: 4.7


Overall: Seein’ tha back cover wit tha producers listed and I didn’t notice where X-Fyle was on this CD; who’s M16, by tha way? Nice job wit this CD, minus those jacked songs toward tha end! Keep up tha great work and now, hopefully, get outta jail!

But, finally, as of yesterday, I found out that it did get released to http://www.brmc.me and it’s DeTrane “Jigg City Radio Vol. 3: The Return (Post Wreck Edition)”. I usually don’t like back-tracking reviewz since I did Vol. 4 & 5 already… Start Time: 11:44 PM | End Time: 1:02 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. Celebrity Ent. Feat. Lil’ J “Nu$$ie Dance”

Icky start; would’ve heard it here first since it was uploaded May 10, 2009. Not exactly DCF (since they parted ways) but it was Celebrity Ent. at tha time. Young Hits on tha track. That’s Da Jackel on tha 1^st verse (I pretended I didn’t hear tha beginning). Actually, he sounds pretty good. Not sure of what ta say about Delwin but Lil’ J’s here… He did a nice job and Delwin’s on tha 3^rd verse, although tha song sounds like a GIGANTIC obsession wit Nu$$ie. I know he died but I think a song like this (wit tha title especially) iz goin’ in a weird direction. LOL @ tha long ending, yet, it ain’t bad but all tha “Nu$$ie!!! Nu$$ie!!!”s add to tha obsession wit makin’ this song. Tha beat here was pretty good, although it was like, “WTF was goin’ on wit this song?” A lotta weirdness, lol (especially outside tha verses). Not that bad of a song (tha rating I’m givin’ iz GREAT fa a “dance”-type song), although I don’t think I can feel obsessed wit it at all! My Current Rating: 2.8

LOL, you did put your name on tha skit? Iz it you or samples? Lemme find out… >>> Almost thought it was gonna be that “Nu$$ie!!! Nu$$ie!!” sample that you used to have on your phone back last year, lol! LOL, what was that silenced spot at :20? I like how you sound a lil’ like Southpaw too! My Rating: N/A

LOL? Could’ve thrown a different song on here instead; there’s plenty of ‘em that neva made tha “Jigg City Radio” CDs… My Current Rating: 4.8

I see tha “and” symbol but I’m not really gonna predict that it’s a collaboration CD project… Neva heard before so lemme see what’s up! >>> I’m likin’ tha beat here; cool shit! Ooh, a Southpaw tag, lol! Tha 1^st verse sounds cool; almost reminds me of someone I heard once before… I like how this iz #4 on tha mixtape; nice and early! Ooh, tha hook sounds cool; I like how tha title sounds wit this tight beat! Tha 2^nd verse’s showin’ GR8 luv ta “Baton Rouge” here! Nice job on tha verse… Sounds like my boy Gangsta on tha 3^rd verse here; feelin’ tha future-perspective! My Rating: 4.3

Ugh, lol… I HATE that intro part wit tha loud-ass sound or whateva it iz. Plus, I take Akon out of tha ID ‘cause that really wasn’t him. I just thought it was pathetic that someone had to imitate a Pop/R&B/Techno artist (yes, he makes buku music wit 128+ BPM)! Tha GAYEST thing was that “ooooooooohhh” shit in tha hook; WTF!? Would’ve expected a way betta Gates song… Tha lyrics may be REAL nice, as well as tha beat ta go wit it, but I just can’t deal wit dat hook. It really crushes tha song; GAY-ASS FAKE vocals to tha fullest!!!!! Tha 2^nd verse soundin’ nice… My Current Rating: 2.5

Tha hook iz DEFINITELY a street banga and Yella does his thang on tha 1^st verse! Gotta luv how he spits tha shit tha way he does! Nu$$ie’s verse was decent. I thought Nu$$ie had betta verses in tha past. Boonie spits like a gangsta on this shit; iz he out now? Good shit still! My Current Rating: 4.5

I still luv it (always). LOVE that Savage beat and that so called “24’s” type of beat; great idea, Savage! Down Bad helpin’ out tha hook iz just tight! Great 1^st ½ of tha 1^st verse from Supa and great 2^nd ½ of tha 1^st verse from Terror; likin’ that “I’m #1, y’all #2 like pencils” part. TOOOOOOOOOOO CRAZY here!!! I feel blessed to be in contact wit buku people; WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT a while ago I’d be in contact wit all these people?! :tu Great 1^st ½ of tha 2^nd verse, especially wit that “Kid Rock” part from JR! Likin’ tha 2^nd ½ of tha 2^nd verse too from Cage; OUTSTANDIN’ flowin’ right chea!! YEAH, Savage on that 3^rd verse!! Gotta luv those “picture booth…/that goose…/chubby hoes…” parts! LOL… Would’ve heard it on here first since I originally 1^st heard it towards tha end of ’09… Tha intro iz DEFINITELY watz good wit this Mouse beat (that I assume ‘cause he’s featured on tha track)! DEFINITELY a cool intro right here and tha hook iz too!! :tu Who can front on a “cool” hook? Mouse added some nice parts in tha hook too, ya dig? Max doin’ tha damn thang on tha 1^st verse, as he feelin’ good! Max iz back on tha 2^nd verse, havin’ that REAL GR8 flow of his when he raps!! :tu He even “saggin’” on tha verse, so he keeps gettin’ plus! LOL @ tha “Cyclops” jiggalater towards tha end; that was “cool,” ya dig? I thought Mouse was gon have a 3^rd verse but it’s Max again, more of it bein’ a bridge. More like “lol” for me on here but this was right before it hit Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B! I heard that this iz a reworked beat from T-Lo’s “All Day”? I wish Derty would spit more lyrics; it’s more Lil’ Jonish chanting, even though I really like it! He sound like a 250-pound beast on this shit! Tha “middle of tha flo wit my shirt off, jiggin’ like a ma’fucka” part iz GREAT (was gonna consider puttin’ that part in my “Tha Louisianimals” episodes ‘cause it would work great). That part iz also from “Somethin’ In Da Air” from Beat Flippa, Tank Jones, Derty himself & Nu$$ie. I don’t anticipate Boosie’s verses that much but he ALWAYS sounds REAL GREAT! Just how he came in wit tha “I’m a dog, a beast, a legend on these streets” line sounded great! He did his thang on his verse and wit tha Derty verse, I like tha “if you don’t like me, then I don’t like you, niggah” (just how he says “nigga”)! A nice, short verse from him. Tha rest of tha song still sounds great, as he’s unstoppable too! Any rapper that weighs a lot, or iz tall, stomps on pretty much ANY track! My Current Rating: 4.5

Anotha HOT one; I had anticipation when I saw dat Mookie was on this CD! NICE first seconds! Iz that Shonta on tha track? Sounds like him wit those FUCKIN’ GREAT Baton Rouge sounds!!!!! Yup, it’s him (heard it just now)! “Drankin’ like a gas tank?” HOLY SHIT!!! He IZ “thirsty” for not just drinkin’ but this Rap shit, ya dig?!? Hook was on some TIGHT shit and now, let’s hear that 1^st verse… Sounds like he’s SO FUCKIN’ INTO THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW!!! Yeah, “party like yo birthday.” :tu When I saw tha length, I felt like some shit was ‘bout to pop off and it did!! Tha 2^nd verse iz on some MORE TIGHT SHIT HERE!!! “Coolin’ like a glass of lemonade in tha shade;” I “like dat” (lol) quote right there! Yea, “when he walks in tha street, he leaves tha ground sizzlin’!” :tu Likin’ tha consistentness as tha beat started clappin’ at :58 (right after, which reminds me of how Q-Red hooked up dat Lil’ Issue joint “Whop”)!! Great 1^st verse from you, Delwin; “KRAZY” shit here, lol!! It sounds like Wochee on tha 2^nd verse. I like in tha beginning when he says, “You eva feel like you fresher than some fruit, nigga?” LOL… He ain’t fuckin’ playin’ when he keep goin’, “dust my body off…” I like when he says, “I’m flyer than a G4.” When he says, “G4,” it sounds like Max Minelli (how he raps). Good shit wit Yella representin’ wit all his clever “chains” here and representin’ all tha way wit his catchy-ass style! From tha hook to tha 1st verse, it’s all catchiness at its finest!! Boosie sounds good on tha 2nd verse wit how he’s showin’ Yella luv to tha fullest. He sounds kinda calm on tha verse though, less energetic, lol.
