R.I.P. Video #39: Racked-Up Ready

Recorded June 25, 2015, but released on July 8, 2015, in honor of Ready's birthday.

Broadcasting from tha treehouse in my hometown of Port Jefferson Station on Long Island, NY, it's FrankieThaLuckyDog here, reporting another unfortunate loss in tha Louisiana rap community.

Shannen Ve'Latrail Hudson, known in tha rap game as Racked-Up Ready (formerly Young Ready), was one of two victims murdered around 3:30 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, in Bogalusa, LA. Hudson and 28-year-old Jare Stevenson, both from Baton Rouge, were inside a vehicle on City Limits Road when shots were fired, killing both Hudson & Stevenson instantly.

Hudson was one of Baton Rouge's most-known underground rappers, consistently releasing music for tha streets to embrace. Throughout his career, he had been managed by tha likes of Baton Rouge's J-Dirty & Atlanta's Tony "iAmThaConnect" Guidry. In 2006, he released his debut, Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition), on Grind Tyme Entertainment. In 2007, he signed with fellow Rouger, C-Loc's Camp Life Entertainment, releasing Break It Off! with Reno Da Gutta & Loc, himself. During 2008, Hudson was arrested for illegally carrying a weapon, and was released from jail on November 3, 2008. Shortly after, in tha spring of 2009, he released his 2nd CD, That's How I'm Coming, and in tha fall of 2009, released his 3rd CD, It Ain't No Secret. To jump-start tha 2010s decade, he kept tha streets full by teaming up with fellow Rouger, Savage, and released tha collaboration project, Self-Made Bosses. Later on in tha year, he left Camp Life and started his own label, B.O.W. Entertainment, releasing his 1st CD on tha label, High Profile, his 4th one, overall. His 5th CD, Goon Incorporated, was released in 2011; his 6th CD, Goon Related, was released in 2012. Family Ties, his 7th solo disc, was released in 2013, also on Baton Rouge's DJ Wookee's Crook Muzik Music Group. With tha scene changing and time surpassing, Hudson started goin' by "Racked-Up Ready" in 2013, signed with Dead Game Records, and dropped his 8th disc, Street Laws, during that summer. Hudson entered tha year 2014 in a quality/quantity fashion by dropping three discs: Street Laws (Reloaded), a Dead Game Records project called I-10 To I-95 Connection with tha Rouge's Lil' One The Champ & Malachi, and what was his final release, The Goon Division, with BR's Madd Marvin, D-Nic & ZC Juice. Hudson was in tha process of releasing Goon Brothers, a collaboration project with close Rouge friend, Mista Cain. Today, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, would've been Hudson's 32nd birthday if he was still alive today.

Keepin’ these reviewz comin’ along, though I’m not too thrilled about wastin’ time on ‘em… I just got done doin’ three and I haven’t gotten one retweet, one favorite, and/or one response; why do I even bother? Sucks ta stay consistent fa no reason! Can’t wait ta continue my hobbies afta this shit! Here’s Spitta on tha 2^nd verse, comin’ through wit an anti-surprised-kinda perspective, lol… Just a ½ verse from him, here, as Ready’s on tha 2^nd ½ of tha 2^nd verse… Hearin’ him and he sounds good, as always… Just make sure you don’t taunt him ta “put [his] hands on you!” Next up on tha 3^rd verse, Chad Cain, comin’ through wit regular-soundin’ rhymes; decent… Split into Mista on tha 2^nd ½ of tha 3^rd verse, soundin’ okay, too. Next up, Juice on tha 4^th verse, comin’ through wit some burnin’; nice… He sounds like a bigger dude wit how his voice sounds, here… My Rating: 4.4

Ooh, $hop With Ken on tha beat! >>> Sounds familiar… Whether I reviewed it or not, it’s a nice, catchy hook wit Ready doin’ his thang… Hearin’ him on tha 1^st verse and it’s nice, as well; nice job, but why at 1:10, there’s somethin’ censored? Next up, tha mad, Madd Marvin on tha 2^nd verse… Sounds nice, but why tha part, “Shout out to my ___, and shout out to my ___;” what? Either way, definitely diggin’ his energy! Keepin’ it goin’ wit Lee Banks on tha 3^rd verse… Once again, diggin’ tha energy and aggression; it’s all about bein’—wait, should I say, soundin’ mad! Really goin’ duffy toward tha end of tha verse! My Rating: 4.5

Q-Red beat. >>> Sounds familiar again, but I ain’t know it, I don’t think? Nice job wit tha hook and tha 1^st verse sounds good; you really goin’ dumb, once again… Tha 2^nd verse sounds pretty nice, too… My Rating: 4.3

No producer listed, just like #01? Okay, tha back cover says, “Hustle,” though no #01… >>> Oh, it’s Young Hustla on tha track; nice beat! However, what’s up with this DJ hosting? I dunno what ta say; I feel like he was thrown into hosting this, lol? Anyway, nice job wit tha hook, Juice, as well as tha 1^st verse; good shit! Keep up dat energy! Keepin’ this goin’ wit Ready on tha 2^nd verse, comin’ through wit dat gutta shit; keep exposin’ ‘em! “In tha trap, gettin’ blunted;” I can relate, now! And, to wrap up this track, we got Madd Marvin on tha 3^rd verse, comin’ through wit dat energetic, aggressive-kinda shit!! My Rating: 4.3

Austin on tha track; why not listed on tha LiveMixtapes ID? >>> Intro sounds like it took a sample from Down Bad’s “Bouncin’ Thru” or somethin’, wit tha, “Bounce…Bounce…Bounce…?” Hearin’ tha beat and it’s real nice ta hear, dat jiggin’-type of Baton Rouge shit I luv! Reminds me of 2010 or somethin’, here… Hearin’ tha hook from Ready and it sounds nice; diggin’ his aggression! Also, same thing wit him on tha 1^st verse; good shit! D-Nic on tha 2^nd verse? Or, iz it Juice? He really sounds different…? Anyway, I’m really diggin’ how he comin’ through on this; excellent voice fa tha streetz! Now, hearin’ tha 3^rd—okay, this verse’s Juice; I’ll flip ‘em in tha original ID… So, excellent verse from D-Nic & Juice’s soundin’ pretty good on tha 3^rd verse… My Rating: 4.4

At least he keepin’ it real, not like dat stupid-ass fake shit of unfollowin’!! >>> Really likin’ tha beat start a whole lot from Mouse!! And, we got Donkey from Bad Azz Ent. on tha intro and hook, comin’ through nicely! Even some background vocals from Mouse, goin’, “Wahhh… Wahh…,” in tha background; nice!! Diggin’ Donkey on tha 1^st verse, as well; it’s all about dat energy, despite this bein’ a street song! Luv tha mix of content and vibes!! Hearin’ Ready on tha 2^nd verse and it’s okay, so far; just glad to hear him, I guess? No… A 1:11-length beat outro? Guess tha DJ wanted to talk, talk, talk… That “I Am Hood DJ,” or whateva his name iz… I thought I’d hear a Mouse verse, but I guess his beat touch and background vocals was good enough? I’ono about tha featured artist’s name fa a Juice song; we’ll see… Phunk Dawg on tha beat… >>> Tha beat’s kinda smooth, here; diggin’ tha sounds… Tha hook sounds good, except tha random background vocals… Tha 1^st verse ain’t too bad, here; this a decent track, so far, but I’ono if I can deal wit 5:28 on tha length… Tha 2^nd verse aight; this startin’ ta get long and boring, at times… Yeah, this kinda sounded repetitive, though I’m glad tha song kept it street… My Rating: 3.4

½time: So far, a pretty good CD; lots of consistent tracks, except for #08 bein’ a lil’ boring… Definitely diggin’ tha variety of Zion City, Baton Rouge, 5400 Block-type peeps, here; keep it goin’! Currently, a 4.3 for tha CD rating…

Here’s Ready on tha 1^st verse and I luv how he’s like, “Insta;” thought he was obsessed with Facebook? Tha best Ready’ll always be tha MySpace Ready…, and he was locked up when he was on MySpace, back when I discovered him! Damn, Juice on tha 2^nd verse? Y’all confusin’ me wit tha order of err-body… Anyway, he sounds good and consistent on this one; good goin’… Got Deedy on tha 3^rd verse and he doin’ his thang, here; good job! My Rating: 4.3

Keepin’ this goin’ wit G-Nate on tha 2^nd verse… Would think it sounds nice, but there’s too much “money” shit and cocky rhymes; yuck! That’s “bullshit” fa me! My Rating: 3.9

Austin on tha beat… >>> Nice-soundin’ beat, here; good hook, too, from Juice! Hearin’ Ready on tha 1^st verse and it’s nice; good shit… Hearin’ Juice on tha 2^nd verse and he soundin’ great, here; good shit! Props fa keepin’ it street at all times! My Rating: 4.2

Million Dolla Girl! >>> Nice beat; sounds like a catchy hook from y’all! Good shit! Got Marvin on tha 1^st verse, comin’ through, “fa tha low;” nice! Just hearin’ that title and it’s pretty catchy ta hear… Hearin’ Ready on tha 2^nd verse and he soundin’ good… “Smell tha aroma;” yup! Hope it’s made outta a four-letter word, a.k.a., kush, weed, purp, you know, lol! Hearin’ Juice on tha 3^rd verse, here… Though I wasn’t feelin’ tha “racks” mention, I do like how he was like, “Where tha weed at?” Who doesn’t luv that?!? My Rating: 4.3

17. Racked-Up Ready, Madd Marvin & ZC Juice “Bigger”

Again, Million Dolla Girl!! >>> Great beat, but terrible start wit all this “money” shit; does it sit on y’all’s dicks or somethin’? Bet y’all rub it all on ya balls, since that’s where it’s at! Y’all got “money” on ya dick! It gon EYDU, not EDDU! “Eat y’all dick up!” Anyway, an okay hook, here… Hearin’ Ready on tha 1^st verse and it’s okay; just regular rappin’, here, wit a Baton Rouge vibe… Again, he said, “I’m tha biggest since Big Loc did it;” why mention it twice on this CD? Shouldn’t recycle your rhymes, Ready! Ooh @ Marvin on tha 2^nd verse, startin’ off strong! “Murda, murda, murda, murda!!” Great shit, here! However, this seems so long? Not as boring as tha Juice song, #08, on here, though… Speakin’ of Juice, here’s Juice on tha 3^rd verse, comin’ through wit dat “Molly Syrus,” as it’s “twerkin’” like Miley Cyrus, lol… Almost sounds a lil’ off-beat toward tha last four bars Juice was spittin’, lol; it all good, though… My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Trally Boy did tha back cover? Nice, but he’s terrible at capitalizing! I need ta teach these folks, whether it’s my manager or Trally Boy: MAKE IT LOOK GOOD!! Anyway, seemed like this bitch went off, consistently! Props fa B.O.W. Ent. & dem Fly Goons fa droppin’ a consistent product, here; great job! Not sure how memorable this’ll be fa me, but y’all did a great job! Keep it up, and most importantly, just like Mouse, acknowledge this review and what I do!!!

This from my dawg Young Ready (FREE YOUNG READY ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and his mixtape, presented by Grind Tyme Entertainment, called "Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition)". I think that's tha full name 'cause I googled it for a tracklisting and I found that name on some site (it's tha 1st result when you type Young Ready "Cocaine Edition" in Google). And now, here it goes! Tha moment I've been waiting for… My review for Young Ready "Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition)"!! Let's see what goes on… I can't tell but I'm very anticipated!!! >>> Oh really feelin' this for a start!! DEFINITELY Baton Rouge shit right here (I know he's from there but when he repeats tha end of tha hook back n' forth, that's like a Baton Rouge style and I love it). Really love tha hook A WHOLE LOT and tha 1st verse was nice! You're DEFINITELY "untamed" as you do tha muthafuckin' damn thang, ya dig!! My Rating: 4.5

That 1st joint was REAL TIGHT wit a nice feel to it! Dyin' to hear what's next!!! >>> Good it's nearly 5 minutes long (as it's 4 minutes, 59 seconds)! That beat iz real catchy/nice! Love it already!! Pretty good hook and great verse! Sounds like someone iz featured on tha 2nd verse. I don't know who it iz but they're good! Tha person (who was different) who was on tha 3rd verse was good too. Yeah I do agree wit that hook, "I know you don't want me to do yo bitch-ass up." If you do someone's "bitch-ass up," they gon be DONE FOR!! My Rating: 4.3

Number 3… Let's see… >>> I know it and it's easily tha "he a gangsta" joint right? REAL GLAD it's on here!! This iz tha 1st song I heard from you! I 1st heard it on February 15, 2008 when I reviewed tha "Pyrex Radio Vol. 3: On Tha Muscle" mixtape. I think this mixtape from 2007 or some shit 'cause that's what tha modified dates were when I downloaded it (it said somethin' like March 2007). I REALLY love that hook and just you rappin' on this shit iz real nice!! That beat iz good too! My Current Rating: 4.8

By tha intro, it sounds like there's featured rappers on here (I heard Blaze, who has an extra joint on here in tha folder I have). This iz pretty good. And yeah, I'm an "80's baby" since I was born June 21, 1988. But yeah, nothin' much to say but that it was jammin'. Tha beat was tha best outta this song. My Rating: 4.0
