Review #1,939: Max Minelli "Cold Day In Hell"

Reviewed on 6.29.2020 (Review #1,939)

As I’m almost an hour away from my full-time job, lemme get this last review in, right quick: Max Minelli Cold Day In Hell, courtesy of Crushed Entertainment! Sadly, Max retired from tha rap business at age 40 (now, 41) but bein’ 32, I don’t see a retirement happenin’, anytime soon (fa me)! Max said he was bored, durin’ these quarantined times & just wanted ta drop a lil’ sumthin’, sumthin’; that’s what’s up! Let’s see how dis shit goes…! Start Time: 7:26 PM | End Time: 7:58 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

02. “Amongst The Wolves”
Producer: Jondo
>>> Sounds like an anticipatin’ beat start, here; hope tha excitement continues…! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds great; neva-agin’ Max style, here! Tha hook sounds cool; I digz it. Almost was thrown off by you attemptin’ ta use auto-tune but it sounds nice wit how you harmonize it/have this title ta back you up…! Continuin’ on, hearin’ tha 2nd verse & yeah, I know what it be like, now, wit tha “fake” shit (“you my brotha,” as you say); definitely nice…! “You see disappointment on my face;” yeah, Max! Say it! Likin’ how tha beat goes, “Yeah, hoe…,” toward tha end; good sample… My Rating: 4.2

Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; luv how you so hypnotized inta knowin’ what it iz ta make quality music fa tha streetz! Good shit! As this shit continues, you really sound lost in this shit (in a good way); what a hypnotizin’ hook! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you got this shit continuin’ ta be on lock; good shit, Max! My Rating: 4.0

04. “Cold Day In Hell”
Producer: Jondo
>>> Beat sounds good; feelin’ what you got goin’ on wit dis track, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I’m feelin’ tha consistent rhymes; definitely a plus! Tha hook sounds good, too, as you bring tha coldest “day,” when it comes ta “Hell,” ya heard me? Great 2nd verse, too, wit how you comin’ through wit a cool flow & nice shout out ta “Wookee,” as well! Gotta “say” what you gotta “say,” ya heard me? Retired or not! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Beautifully Orchestrated”
Producer: Jondo
>>> Excellent transition wit tha beat (from tha previous track)? Awesome! Luv how it blended & how you comin’ through on this harmonized hook…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I’m glad it shows that you enjoyin’ this shit; definitely what’s up! Tha hook sounds good fa tha streetz, too; definitely “orchestrated” in a beautiful way, ya heard me? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you take a risk wit tha voice effect shit. However, I don’t hear any signs of shit bein’ wack & abused; you even switch back to tha organic voice, too! Keep it goin’, M-to-tha-A-to-tha-X! My Rating: 4.2

½time: Props fa keepin’ tha quality comin’, Max! Hope you don’t stay retired, permanently! Fuck a 6ix9ine snitch fa makin’ you not fit into tha rap world, today! You think my autistic-ass fit, in tha beginning? Had ta prove myself, ya heard me? Either way, keep these bangerz comin’! A 4.2 for tha ½time rating; it’s up…!

06. “Better Bring A Gun”
Producer: B-Bangerz
>>> A decent start, here; not too sure how much I’ll feel this slower shit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; I don’t have hate for it… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds cool; likin’ how this title yells “pre” to shit (“pre”-production, “pre”pare, you know)… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & yeah, I feel dis, especially tha “ankle bracelet” part; dat was me, smh! Hatin’-asses did dat ta me, when I deserved ta win! I hope ta win, one day but fa now, just preparin’ fa tha big future, ya heard me? Keep tha rhymes goin’…! Tha rest of this shit sounds nice, too; sounds betta than average, overall… My Rating: 3.9

07. “You Eat What You Kill”
Producer: X-Fyle
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ track fa tha streetz, here; nice job, X…! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds good wit how you bring dat real-life shit to tha streetz, as always! Been a long time comin’, ya heard me? Gotta keep grindin’! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & this sounds good; feelin’ tha “free C-Murder” shit at all times! He’ll be back, one day; always have tha faith! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & your flow definitely catchy wit how you spit dis shit; definitely nice! Hope you always “keep it” goin’! Hook da truth—tha title tha truth, ya heard me? My Rating: 4.2

08. “Neva” feat. YellaJazz
Producer: Jondo
>>> Sounds like a good beat & hook, here; feelin’ what you got goin’ on durin’ tha 1st verse, ya heard me? You know how ta contribute tha catchy shit fa tha streetz! No boring vibes, here! Hearin’ tha YellaJazz chick on tha 2nd verse & she cool; I’m feelin’ her gangsta style, here. I’m sick of tha females takin’ ova tha rap game, these dayz, but this chick gets it in… Also, likin’ tha “bow” shit in tha beat outro, toward tha end; good goin’! My Rating: 4.2

09. “From A Different Cloth”
Producer: B-Bangerz
>>> Anotha tight beat fa tha streetz, here, as well as tha catchy titles & hooks! Great job, Max! You know you own thangz! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I’m feelin’ how you “let [dat] shit marinate;” good shit! You know what’s spicy & hot! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty dope, as well; you know what it iz! Looks like I like all these tracks tha same; that’s just how I categorize your music, I guess? My Max collection? My Rating: 4.2

10. “Dead Homiez”
Producer: Happy Perez
>>> Beat sounds pretty impressive, wit tha sample (sounds like cryin’ or moanin’? I think it sounds like a tight contribution!)…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good wit what you got goin’ on, here… Gangsta shit don’t die at age 41; you know how ta bring tha heat! Hearin’ tha hook & you got this shit on lock; likin’ how this sounds & what you believe in…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you keepin’ this shit goin’; props to tha Pain! I like how you rhyme “Minnesota” wit “my shoulder;” keep dat “shoulder” up! I luv that “can’t bury your memory” line & how you said it; pure ‘90s!! Also, it sounds like you’re in tha middle of tha woods? Definitely interestin’; I’m feelin’ what you & P got, fa tha 2020’s! See, if you “retired” now (again), in 2020 & didn’t release anythang else till you turn 60, in 2039, you will still have tha consistency of releasin’ somethin’ in every decade, ya heard me? You got dis! Nice lil’ ending, too, with showin’ your respects to tha blacks that got killed, shamelessly; good shit! My Rating: 4.3

Overall: So glad you decided to make some music, again! Great job wit this interestin’ street content, Max! You deserve ta keep havin’ success & I’m glad I spent my money on this shit, just ta support you! Keep ya head up fa these streetz; they needz you!!

Review #1,938: Mike Rich "Up Season 2"

Reviewed on 6.29.2020 (Review #1,938)

As these reviewz continue, my next one iz Mike Rich Up Season 2, courtesy of Curbs To Castles, Inc.! For those that may not know, Mike Rich formerly went by tha stage name, Puppy & was affiliated with Dope Celebrity Records & Nu$$ie. Now, changin’ tha stage name to a money-affiliated name? I’ono… Also, I neva got ta check out tha 1st Up Season, due to I prolly ain’t know about it. Just been havin’ a focused schedule on gettin’ older shit done… Start Time: 6:24 PM | End Time: 7:00 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Intro”
>>> Beat sounds like a good lil’ intro vibe, here… Sounds catchy wit how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes, here; hope tha good quality continues… Yeah, “fuck” who “ratted” on you, ya heard me? I got “ratted” on, too & dat shit made me evolve! It’s like, I live in a pussy town & can’t wait ta get outta it! My Rating: 4.2

02. “Going Nu$$ie”
>>> Sounds great fa a “Nu$$ie” tribute, between tha hook & tha beat! Glad ta keep him remembered, in a great way! This tha “dumb way,” most definitely!! Even my production tags have Nu$$ie shoutin’ me out, now; gotta keep him alive! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I like how you have his flow/vibe, in tha rhymes! I used ta criticize that shit of when err-body would be on Nu$$ie’s nuts, afta he died. However, you an O.G. & an ‘80s baby in your 30’s, so you get da G-Pass! Lol, when you have tha Nu$$ie sample, “My nigga ‘pose ta be real, doe,” it sounds funny when it’s inserted, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s nice; gotta luv “Bro-Bro,” too! All about those good peeps; met “Bro-Bro” on June 24, 2017 & it was a great lil’ visit…! Keep dis hot shit comin’; definitely nice, on tha 2nd verse, too! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Young Niggas”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ intro & quieter beat, here, fa tha streetz… I feel what you sayin’ on tha hook ‘bout tha “flashin’;” can’t stand it! We need more real people in tha world, ya heard me? When they flash “money” & shit, tha shit so fake!! Neva witnessed so much fake shit till that shit, ya heard me? Ain’t no1 got “money” like how they flash! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & you got dis street shit on lock; most definitely! When I touch down in BR again, we gotta link up; O.G.-type shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it cool; I digz how you keep dis hot shit comin’… My Rating: 4.1

04. “FWM” feat. Spitta
>>> Sounds like a hyped-up beginning, here; definitely anticipated, here…! Sounds like a dope hook; lay it down…! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & tha verse’s what’s up; keep tha heat in da streetz, ya heard me? Got King Spit on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit tha “coughin’” & “coffin,” here; definitely what’s up! Keep tha rhymes comin’, Big Spit!! I like tha “K” part, too; non-stop barz, like xanabarz!! My Rating: 4.4

05. “All Outta Options”
>>> Tha voice effect sounds like some of tha shit you hear in tha mainstream, these dayz… Not too sure how much I feel tha harmonizin’, on tha hook; it str8, so far… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; I feel tha rhymes & beat but iffy wit how you sound, here… Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse & shit sounds nice, as I feel tha rhymes more… Yeah, R.I.P. ta Markee, as I can’t believe it’ll be 11 years, just like wit Nu$$! Well, this ended at 3:02 but it’s 4:06 on tha length; you ain’t get rid of tha silence…?? My Rating: 3.8

½time: Finally, we have a full-on Baton Rouge release, here! Definitely sick of spendin’ money on shit that gets a shitty review, as well as not on a Baton Rouge tip! I work hard fa my money & it deserves ta go to tha best! Wit that bein’ said, Pupp, I’m glad I bought this so you can stack some paypa up, ya heard me? A 4.2-rated release, so far, for tha ½time; let’s keep it goin’!

06. “I’m Just Saying”
>>> Unfortunately, this iz where I see thangz goin’ downward; definitely not feelin’ tha auto-tune beginning… Ugh, even throughout tha hook? Don’t fuck wit it, includin’ tha “get this money” shit; toxic combo…! Keepin’ tha stupid voice effect goin’ wit tha 1st verse, here, as you have okay rhymes; ain’t nothin’ like tha otha jointz, tho… No comment on tha 2nd verse, as well, except for I don’t think it deserved my $0.99… My Rating: 1.0

07. “We Did It” feat. Chris Snowden
>>> More shitty voice effects, in tha beginning? Hope not… Hearin’ tha hook & it ain’t too bad, as far as a laidback vibe; let’s see how tha verses go… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds good; I feel what you bringin’, here, wit a normal voice! I know how it be “in da pen;” shit suck! Also, you find out who really real & shit like dat! There’s no one in my area that real; glad I focus more on tha music peeps, these dayz! Surprised feature? This Chris Snowden dude sound dope; feelin’ his aggression & Dope Celeb-like street vibe! Last name “Snowden”? Related to Pine Obama, outta BR, as he’s Jessie Snowden? If so, that’s what’s up ‘cause he anotha tight dude, outta dat Gunz Up Entertainment! Great job wit this collab, from what I thought was gon be aight, at first… I like how tha “I ain’t (I ain’t), I ain’t (I ain’t)…” echoes, toward tha end; good goin’…! My Rating: 4.0

08. “Ass Like Nikki”
>>> Sounds like a mix between, like, a YG joint & Nu$$ie’s “Bellpepper” “ass” vibe? I digz it; good lil’ hook & beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it cool; keep it up fa da asses! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sound cool; you really made this joint 4:22 on tha length? Prolly coulda had one less of a verse? Lately, I’ve been more bored wit three verses & feel more of tha one, two-verse songs… Damn, anotha one wit buku silence (1:02 of nothin’, at tha end)…? My Rating: 3.9

09. “Lick You Up & Down”
>>> Sounds like pure shit; not feelin’ this slow shit, wit tha gay voice effect… I have no comment on tha verses; not for me wit this shittiness… My Rating: 1.0

10. “Club Vibes” feat. ShonThang
>>> Sounds like a good vibe but all y’all need ta let dat “cut up bad” sayin’ die & stay in tha pen!! Dude who made dat song blocked me on March 14, earlier this year, after I tried promotin’ him, smh. You know people fake when they do dat blockin’ & don’t appreciate tha luv! Wit dat bein’ said, let’s hope dat shit dies down (or, at least just reverts to just “cut up”)! As far as this joint, I’m definitely feelin’ your vibe, here, on tha hook, wit tha “fulla dem pillz” & shit! Definitely what’s up wit how you keep this shit up & up! Tha 1st verse from you sounds pretty nice, as you keepin’ tha “Club Vibes” goin’! Also, shout out ta “Lil’ Rocket” out tha “Slauterhouse,” like you said; good shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from ShonThang & he good; I feel what he spittin’ fa you, here! Glad he got a good vibe like you, even tho err-body have ta mention shit about “money?” Keepin’ it movin’ wit you on tha 3rd verse, here (almost thought it was gon be a minute of silence!) & this shit sounds nice, once again! Lol @ how you point out tha “‘90s babies goin’ wild,” here. I hope tha ‘80s “babies” continue ta have non-stop energy! I know I gon have it! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Nightmares”
>>> Been meanin’ ta say, tha beat tag, I can’t tell who it iz; neva heard it b4? They’re on this release a bunch of times… Iz it you? I remember you produce, at times… Anyway, hearin’ tha hook & it cool, ova this street-soundin’ beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it str8; hold it down… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it aight; just sounds like everyday-soundin’ lyrics, tho, which don’t really spark my excitement… My Rating: 3.7

Overall: Thought you did yo shit on this Up Season 2, ya heard me? Only had two shitty songs on here, thanx to tha auto-tune. Tha average rating of this release woulda been 6/10’s higher if those songs weren’t on here. Either way, glad you keepin’ dat DCF shit alive, as well as tha heat you bring to tha streetz! Keep it up, Rich, p.k.a. Puppy!

Review #1,937: B.T. Da Hound "Dead End Capital"

Reviewed on 6.29.2020 (Review #1,937)

As I continue ta review, up next, I have B.T. Da Hound Dead End Capital, courtesy of Ouristory Entertainment! Originally unsure of who exactly B.T. Da Hound was, I was always confused at tha B.T. from tha late Big Markee’s Shop Shutters Group vs. this B.T. Da Hound dude & tha questionable “B.T.” from tha old Young Ready & Savage tracks. Once I got it cleared up wit B.T. Da Hound, I realized that B.T. from tha Shop Shutters iz just “B.T. (Shop Shutters)”, while tha B.T. on tha old Young Ready & Savage jointz iz B.T. (Da Hound). With that bein’ said, anything I promote of B.T. Da Hound gon be labeled as “B.T. Da Hound”, to prevent any confusion. Now that we got dat cleared up, let’s do dis…!! Start Time: 1:54 PM | End Time: 2:35 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Kill Me Down”
>>> Almost wasn’t sure about tha sample, at first. However, I’m diggin’ how it continuously repeats in tha background, here… Hearin’ what you got on tha verse, here & I’m diggin’ your consistency on tha rhymes. Sounds good, tho I’ono how many times I can tolerate a northeast-soundin’ vibe on this release… We’ll see as I get ta hear tha rest of tha tracks… Hearin’ tha hook & it cool; I digz how you expressin’ their jealousy of you, here. Just like you, I got people havin’ jealousy issues wit me, where I’m at. That’s why, I’m tryna make da move…! My Rating: 3.7

02. “Stalk”
>>> Sounds like an anticipatin’ beat fa tha south, off tha start, here… Hearin’ what you got in tha beginning & it cool; I digz what you got. Hearin’ tha hook & I’m likin’ how you “Stalk” on they bitch-asses, here; good shit…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; decent flow/vibe, here… I like tha “red eye, wit red eyez” line; you know it all about dat red!! My Rating: 3.9

03. “Church”
>>> Sounds like a catchy beat start; hope this sounds pure… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds catchy, mainly fa how tha beat sounds. Only five words ta describe tha hook, here: “Take ‘em to da church;” gotcha. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good. Like I previously said, tha catchiness of tha beat’s overshadowin’ everythang else… An uncredited dude on tha 2nd verse, here? Dude sounds good ta collab witchu, here; 225 fa lyfe!! Lemme know who featured on dis bih…! My Rating: 4.2

04. “Self-Hate”
>>> A laidback vibe, here; I feel tha chillness… Hearin’ tha hook & it cool; once again, it’s based off of five words, lol: “You thank you foolin’ somebody…” After 1:18, we finally have tha 1st verse & it sounds cool. I like tha party/good times vibe you bringin’ to tha lyrics, here, ova this chill beat; good shit…! When I hear you say tha “10 & tha 85,” I keep thinkin’ of you born in ’85, fa some reason, lol… Tha rest of this kinda drags on fa a while but it’s tha chill mode you’re in, here… My Rating: 3.8

05. “Soon As I’m Up”
>>> Beat str8, here; a lil’ bit of a chill/regular vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it str8; glad you got tha hood on lock… Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; don’t got much ta say about it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it aight; again, not much ta say, as this keeps on goin’… I do agree wit tha hook wit tha “by myself” shit. It’s like, I feel like I’m more inta “shmokin’ wit myself” & all dat (unless I’m in Louisiana & there’s plenty of social activity). Long-ass beat outro, here; 93 seconds! Iz this called tha break where you’re either shmokin’ on good or chokin’ from dat good? Lol…? My Rating: 3.5

06. “Blacc Luv”
>>> More chill shit, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; don’t like ta get a sad vibe off of hearin’ music, tho. I’ono, kinda feelin’ bored wit this one, includin’ how tha uncredited singer sounds, on tha hook. Yeah, tha deaths be sad; I just don’t like hearin’ sad shit, especially since my brother died, a ½ decade ago. Also, 1:14 remaining & I hear a beat outro? Anotha long one with tha beat outro…? Also, dat “Jacob” dude on tha beat tag need ta get tha fuck off tha tags! My Rating: 2.6

½time: Seems like a decent release, here… A lil’ on a different level fa me, between laidback tracks & not much Rouge-soundin’ tracks… For tha ½time rating, we’re currently at a 3.6 fa this release; how will we continue…?

07. “Get Better, Do Better”
>>> Sounds like Queen Latifah’s beat in tha beginning, here? Then again, if I bought these off digital platforms, wouldn’t there be no such thang as jacked beats? Hearin’ tha 1st verse & your rhymes cool; beat sounds so dead, tho… At :49, it starts ta kick in & it cool. This sounds more like a weed/high vibe, production-wise & then, tha lyrical/street shit on tha rappin’; interestin’ mix… Sounds like an okay/simple hook; why iz this 6:12, tho? Wouldn’t that set of #’s look betta like tha old Webbie song (“6 12’s”)? Okay, so it sounds like an outro/shout-out list? Sounds more like it coulda been tha last song instead of tha 1st song ta kick-start tha 2nd ½… Likin’ tha chill-type beat, tho, so I’ll pretend this an outro track than fully criticizin’ it fa its long length, in tha middle of this release… My Rating: 3.0

08. “Lit LifeStyle”
>>> Less than two minutes, here, with a more upbeat version of tha laidback beats… Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; let’s see what gon pop off wit da verse… Hearin’ tha verse & I’m feelin’ how your flow sounds like tha Rouge/southern vibe, in your voice/delivery; good shit. My Rating: 3.6

09. “Dead End Capital”
>>> *That moment where tha sample iz tha same as Diplo & SIDEPIECE’s “On My Mind” joint…* Well, well, well; where iz this gonna go wit me…? I kinda like tha sample in tha background, here, wit an okay hook. Hearin’ what you got fa tha verse & it sounds good; I digz it… My Rating: 3.4

10. “The Heart”
>>> Almost was afraid you were gonna have an auto-tune shitshow, based off tha beginning. However, hearin’ you on tha verse & it cool wit how you spit this street shit. Beat ain’t bad, here; sounds like it wants ta speed up wit tha kicks & hi-hats? Kinda teases me but for tha most part, it’s a decent mix… Tha hook’s pretty intense, with its topic: “I’ont thank God can take mo down…;” yeah, err-body gotta stay alive! My Rating: 3.2

11. “The Hound”
>>> I like your southern voice/flow on this one, this time, tho these beats are too dry & sappy… Tha verse ain’t bad; props fa speakin’ your mind… Hearin’ tha hook & it ehh; not really feelin’ how you sound, on tha vocals… They were better wit tha organic-soundin’ verse, tbh… My Rating: 3.3

12. “BRC Lyfe”
>>> Again, almost got afraid of tha beginning wit how tha voice sounded… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it cool; once again, great wit how you sound but dry wit tha production… Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; thought it woulda had more of a “BRC” sound, hence tha title… Regardless, it’s okay; sometimes, you sound lost wit tryna vocalize? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & I feel ya wit your “trust” issues, as far as tha 225 goes; good content… My Rating: 3.1

13. “Still Jungle Living (FreeStyle)”
>>> Sounds like an okay beat, here; feelin’ what you got goin’ fa tha 1st verse, here. Whether this just a “FreeStyle” or not, it sounds betta than almost tha whole release, here. Hearin’ tha horns in tha beat & this official, as far as tha production! See, this tha shit you need! Like I said in tha beginning, it’s cool ta have one lil’ laidback track ta get high to. However, you gotta have dis shit! Tha Baton Rouge-soundin’ beat goes over real well wit your street content; definitely a plus! A lil’ outro toward tha final minute, here… Oh, those horns! Instantly, Big Fancy & Nu$$ie come to my mind!! Not too sure which song I gon add to my playlist, first, but this a good contender! My Rating: 4.3

Overall: A decent lil’ review, with a lotta laidback tracks, tho… Regardless, you caught my attention tha most wit tha final joint on here. Not too many times do I review & tha last joint iz tha top-rated joint. Either way, take my advice: Tha way you arranged that last joint, between tha Baton Rouge sound & your Baton Rouge flow, iz what I like best. Go ‘head & jigg, pop somethin’, shmoke somethin’ but do it fa tha hood!! Real glad you consider me a “Baton Rouge legend;” I gotta keep it movin’!!

Review #1,936: Dolla Bill Da Last Man "Good Guy Bad Guy: Reloaded"

Reviewed on 6.29.2020 (Review #1,936)

Now that I’m 32, I’m gonna try & keep up wit some of these current reviewz more. I get continuously sidetracked when I’m tryin’ to complete a bunch of tha shit I need to complete. That’s why, I try & save these reviewz for tha end of tha month… With that bein’ said, here comes my 1st of four reviewz: Dolla Bill Da Last Man Good Guy Bad Guy: Reloaded, courtesy of Last Man Production! I know dude from tha dayz of producin’ fa Dog Da Cutthroata & Tech, as far back as ’09. Now, here comes this new release from my guy…! Start Time: 12:49 PM | End Time: 1:22 PM

© 2020 Review (Review #1,936) reviewed on 6.29.2020 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “420”
! >>> Beat aight; thought it was gon be more on a Baton Rouge tip but it okay for an anthem fa tha 420erz… Yeah, “that weed’ll make you stress-free in every way;” agreed! Likin’ how tha hook sounds wit tha hook; definitely feelin’ tha vibe! Speakin’ of “we gon shmoke like 4/20,” I was just thinkin’ ‘bout dat wit tryna get legendary Skull Duggrey up by me: “We gon shmoke like 4/20;” buku weed!! Can’t wait!! Fa now, hearin’ tha next verse & it sounds dope; I luv hotboxin’ “tha car,” ya dig? I’m likin’ how tha beat be soundin’; definitely nice! As far as it “legal in some places,” it “legal” fa me ‘cause of my Asperger’s syndrome, lower back pain & anxiety; I get it in!! My Rating: 4.3 (I know, it’s not a 4.2(0), lol…)

02. “Close 2 U”
>>> Not bad wit tha beat, here; kinda sounds like some throwback music from tha northeast? Sounds good wit tha 1st verse & how it’s a day in tha life of hangin’ wit da Dolla Bill; good shit… Tha hook a lil’ bleh fa me; attempted singin’? I’ono… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse & it str8; nothin’ much I can say ‘bout it… My Rating: 3.4

03. “Do It Dumb” feat. WNC Pooh
This oughta be 100% Baton Rouge? >>> Glad it iz, for tha start; can’t wait ta hear dis…! Don’t thank I know this WNC dude? Should be excitin’…! Yeah, totally feelin’ tha energy in tha hook & beat; 100!! 1,000!! Feelin’ what you got on tha 1st verse; luv tha anticipation of “dat pill kickin’ in,” ya dig? Can’t wait ta get inta tha right setting ta have myself a “kickin’ in” moment! Fa now, I be like dat wit my edibles; dat shit be da truth!! Great job wit comin’ through nicely on tha 1st verse, here! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha Pooh dude on tha 2nd verse, here; good shit! Gotta luv tha whole WNC crew; glad they gettin’ a good amount of undaground shine! Got a 3rd verse from you, here, comin’ through, “fulla weed;” definitely “up wit [you],” here! “Saucy, like a taco;” lol, get it in!! My Rating: 4.7

04. “I Kno Niggas” feat. Heata Boy
>>> Diggin’ tha chokin’ in tha beginning, tho not too sure about tha pitched sample. Either way, I’m likin’ this movie-sampled intro, here… Got you on tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ good wit your slower Baton Rouge flow; I digz it, in a way… Hearin’ tha hook and it aight; just a simple lil’ delivered hook, basically… Got dis Heata Boy on tha 2nd verse, here; feelin’ him betta than you on this track, here. Sounds good wit his voice/flow, as well as him sayin’, “Bruh;” 225 fa lyfe…! Gotta luv tha sounds of tha hood/streetz! “Live by tha G-Code;” nuff said! My Rating: 3.8

05. “Nuthin’ Wrong”
>>> Sounds like it samplin’/remakin’ R. Kelly wit his “Bump N Grind” shit, here… Beat a lil’ too slow fa me & tha voice effect spoils it fa me, like dead milk! No interest fa tha decent verse, due to tha turn-off of tha 1st minute… My Rating: 1.1

½time: Sounds like this release iz shakin’ up, here and there… A few tight jointz, as well as some decent & then, tha trashy auto-tune track… As this gumbo’d-up mix delivers, it’s currently at a 3.5 for tha ½time rating, currently…

06. “Why Dey Hate Me”
>>> Likin’ tha lil’ movie sample in tha beginning, here, as well as tha slow beat fa tha streetz… Hearin’ tha hook & it cool; I kinda dig how you sing-rap this shit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; can’t really get inta it too much, due to it sounds like err-body else, here. Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ betta, here, as far as tha focused flow, here… Feelin’ your boosted energy, as well as how you mention “February,” as tha “short month,” lol. My Rating: 3.5

07. “FYC” feat. YPA
>>> Kickin’ it off wit a beat dat sounds totally fa tha northeast, here; not too sure if I’ll be excited, tho… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it aight; rather hear a Baton Rouge beat wit these rhymes, tho. It would bring my interest up a whole lot… Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; don’t really see this as a die-hard anthem, tho… Hearin’ tha YPA dude on tha 2nd verse, here & he got some catchy rhymes. I feel tha black power in our black dudes, str8 out da Rouge; keep it goin’…! “High-water Girbauds,” huh? If so, you already know you gotta keep da Bauds!! My Rating: 3.2

08. “Trust Me” feat. ArJay & Cutta
>>> Even tho I met ArJay on June 22, 2017, I can’t get inta his music/features/singin’. For one, tha voice effect should go & this hook. Then, I’d be able ta focus on appreciatin’ shit. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; I like tha southern voice/flow but not this beat fa this… Ear-bleedin’ hook; ArJay, just be organic…! Hearin’ tha Cutta dude on tha 2nd verse & I ain’t feelin’ this voice. I would just skip/stop this shit by now but because this review’s short, I’mma just let it play… Regardless, it’s tha lowest rating, no doubt. My Rating: 1.0

09. “Shoot’em Up, Bang Bang”
>>> Gotta stay “bucked up & fucked up,” ya dig? Beat kinda on a weed-high/chill vibe, here, which ain’t bad but I wouldn’t’ve expected it… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight; I think tha gangsta/street vibe don’t 100% match this chill beat? Not that it’s bad; it’s like crossing two different types of vibes, tho. Hearin’ tha hook & tha gangsta vibe gives tha same vibe I got off tha 1st verse, here; I’ll take it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & this chillsta (lol, made-up word I just made up) vibe aight, once again… My Rating: 3.7

10. “Reminiscing”
>>> Good subject matter fa “Reminiscing ‘bout tha old dayz,” tho too sappy & a lil’ sad fa me? Okay hook, sad-soundin’ beat & an okay/good 1st verse… “We go way back, like Nintendo;” of course, I’m playin’ some Super Nintendo, as we speak… (randomizer)! This not even ½way done, yet? Seems like it gon be too long… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it aight wit these memories; just a boring vibe fa me, tho. A 3rd verse, here & it okay; just not feelin’ this soulful, slow vibe… My Rating: 2.5

Overall: Seems like this review just barely hit tha three-star mark. Only two jointz I felt but one bein’ a Baton Rouge-styled track. A lil’ too many sappy/southernless-soundin’ tracks, which weakened tha average rating. I look at it like this: If I come to Baton Rouge, I expect a Baton Rouge sound. If I want some northeast-soundin’ shit, I’d go to tha northeast (which, sadly, that’s where I’m at). Either way, keep up tha grind; I bought this just ta show you da luv…

Rankings:

10. “Trust Me” feat. ArJay & Cutta 1.0
09. “Nuthin’ Wrong” 1.1
08. “Reminiscing” 2.5
07. “FYC” feat. YPA 3.2
06. “Close 2 U” 3.4
05. “Why Dey Hate Me” 3.5

R.I.P. Video #73: G3 Lotto (Donkey Boys/Too Exclusive Mob)

Recorded June 26, 2020

Broadcasting from tha Bunkers of Alvira, here in Allenwood, PA, it's ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog here, sadly reportin' anotha tragic loss in tha Louisiana rap community.

Gary Fieldings, known by his stage name, G3 Lotto (or G3 for short), was shot & killed on Monday, June 22, 2020, at 3:30 PM, on tha 2800 block of Fairfields Avenue off Plank Road. BRPD arrested 23-year-old Trenton Taplin for tha killing of Fieldings, as well as injuring a 21-year-old woman. While Fieldings died on tha scene, tha woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Taplin later attempted to flee tha scene; he was later arrested & booked into tha East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for first-degree murder & attempted first-degree murder.

Fieldings was born in Baton Rouge, LA on April 16, 1991. As a teenager, Fieldings was signed with tha late Big Fancy's King Fancy Entertainment label. During his time with King Fancy Entertainment, Fieldings was a part of tha Baton Rouge rap group, Donkey Boys (not to be confused with Marrero, LA rap group, "Donkey Boyz", with a "Z", though sometimes, tha Donkey Boys have spelt their name with a "Z"). Tha Donkey Boys consisted of Flush, Ked, L-Boy, Li' Louis, Yung Slim & G3, himself. Though no albums were released, tha Donkey Boys were featured on all four of King Fancy's I-10 By 10 (Tha Compilation) compilations, in 2010. Later on throughout tha 2010's, Fieldings would be a part of tha Too Exclusive Mob, featuring his brother, D-Ray Exclusive & members Phatt Beezy, Roc Da Don, SD & Tabby. Fieldings kept tha ack-a-donkey lifestyle going till June 22, 2020, where he was murdered in Baton Rouge, LA, off Plank Road; he was only 29 years-old.
