Review #1,544: La Cosa Nosta "Hidden Properties Of Matter"

Reviewed on 9.26.2016 (Review #1,544)

Since I’m in tha mood ta play Quest 64, I’m gonna keep these reviewz goin’… Up next, I have La Cosa Nosta Hidden Properties Of Matter, released in 1995 on Epedemic Records! Start Time: 4:48 PM | End Time: 5:18 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Intro (D.S.P.)”
>>> Beat sounds nice and anthemic, like you’re ready fa some shit ta pop off! I’m ready!! We got rappin’ on tha verse, here; really energetic and on fire!! Insanity!! Consistent rappin’!! My Rating: 4.6

02. “Unorthodox”
>>> Sounds like a nice intro, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s straight; lots ta rap about, here… Tha beat’s pretty nice! Anotha one that makes me feel like I’m ready fa somethin’ ta pop off! Tha hook’s pretty nice; sounds like it’s remakin’ somethin’! Definitely catchy fa tha hood—undaground hood, here! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; can’t deny y’all! Great shit comin’ outta tha 3rd verse, too; y’all focused, focused, focused!! “And, let this life take you to another level of time;” nice on tha hook! My Rating: 4.5

03. Pull Off
Let’s hear it! >>> Sounds like a skit… Great job creatin’ paranoia wit this cop-sirened skit! Y’all “on parole;” y’all want him ta “go” away! My Rating: N/A

04. “Where We Ball”
>>> Sounds nice fa a start; feelin’ tha undaground beat! Tha hook sounds nice, here; can’t deny tha energy/street content! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ great ta hear, here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear, too; great rhymes fa tha streetz! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and dude sound deep wit tha voice, here… Good job wit bringin’ this street shit; can’t deny it! And, we got anotha member of LCN on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some rhymes…; can’t complain… My Rating: 4.2

½time: Sounds like a tight CD; can’t deny it! Great job wit tha rhymes and tha undaground beats, as always! A 4.4-rated CD, currently; let’s keep it goin’!!

05. “The Enterprise”
>>> Great G-Funk sound ta kick this thang off! Great job wit tha 1st verse! Feelin’ tha rappin’ and tha street shit y’all bringin’ to tha table! Tha hook sounds catchy with tha singin’, as well as tha dude in tha background wit tha gangsta voice! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s definitely catchy! Feelin’ tha rhymes and how this shit’s delivered; A+! Feelin’ tha 3rd verse, of course; definitely nice! Likin’ tha “Beware” quote/shout from Mystikal, as you referenced! My Rating: 4.4

06. “Lyrical Buckshotz”
>>> Definitely a nice, dark beat start/intro, here!! I know this gon be excellent!! Feelin’ tha 1st verse! Has that Mystikal aggression, since we just mentioned him in tha previous track! Lovin’ tha gangsta shit; err-thang rhymin’ nicely!! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear; consistent, kick-ass rappin’ at its finest!! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty energetic; definitely feelin’ it!! Such an excellent gangsta track, here!! My Rating: 4.7

07. “Armageddon”
Yeah! >>> Beat’s nice and pure fa tha undaground, of course! Tha hook’s nice; gotta luv this gangsta shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ jammin’, but fulla dat gangsta vibe! Consistent rhymin’; can’t deny it! Definitely feelin’ tha 2nd verse with tha “tha truth hurts,” and that shit about “Earth!” Nice rhymes; nice voice! Keepin’ this shit goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit dat shit ya gotta love, as a gangsta! A really-quick verse, but it was worth it! My Rating: 4.3

08. ’99 Shout
>>> Feelin’ tha singin’; where’d “‘99” come from, tho? This from ’95, right? That’s what I’ve seen… Still, nice! My Rating: N/A

09. “19’ Knuckle ‘9”
And, here we are, again, lol! >>> Feelin’ how tha beat reminds me of Lil’ Wayne’s “Tha Block Is Hot”, even tho this was years before! Feelin’ how tha 1st verse’s soundin’; definitely jammin’! Y’all got this undaground shit on lock! Energetic, anthemic, aggressive hook; chantin’ at its finest!! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice and gutta, too!! Tha 3rd verse pretty tight, too; undeniable!! Did y’all mention tha “Twin Towers,” here? Crazy ‘cause they were actually up, at this time! More shit comin’ from tha 3rd verse, here, with anotha Nosta dude, lol…; nice job! Sounds like y’all sayin’, “Shit yeah!!,” at tha end; nice!! My Rating: 4.6

Overall: What an excellent release, once again!! Y’all had tha beats on lock and y’all such a great group outta dat 5-0-4—Kenner, ta be exact! Definitely felt y’all energy, y’all aggression, y’all content, y’all lyrics, y’all beats, y’all songs, y’all CD, y’all in general, lol!!
