Review #1,731: Chop Lansky "The Hustle Continues"

Reviewed on 6.29.2017 (Review #1,731)

Had an EXCELLENT trip to Louisiana, recently! I’m in a rush, so I gon just get into this review: Chop Lansky The Hustle Continues, released on WheatBread Recordings LLC… Start Time: 2:11 AM | End Time: 2:48 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2017 CD Review (Review #1,731) reviewed on 6.29.2017 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Stomach”
>>> Don’t really sound Louisiana-like in tha production, here; let’s see what’s good… Not really into tha “money” shit, as well as this “rewind it back” shit… Regardless, I’m kinda feelin’ it a lil’ more… My Rating: 3.6

02. “I’m Still Here”
>>> Same as tha last one, as far as my feedback, pretty much…; I like tha last one betta, tho… My Rating: 3.4

03. “Matter Of Time”
>>> Not anticipatin’ tha intro, here; let’s see what’s good… No interest in tha non-Louisiana production and tha rappin’ just decent fa me… I love how every one of these songs has to have “money” mentioned in it… My Rating: 2.8

04. “Doin’ Real Things Too”
>>> Non-Louisiana production, again… Hearin’ what you spittin’ and, yawn, a “bank” / “bankroll” reference, here… As far as this, nothin’ special… My Rating: 2.9

05. “Move Easy” feat. B.Powell
>>> I’m kinda diggin’ this slow vibe, a lil’… It makes me think of how special it iz for me to have this kinda success… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it not really that special, but it’s betta than tha shit on here… Singin’ on tha hook, here… Kinda sounds random but it ain’t bad… Still, I wouldn’t take it serious for a playlist or somethin’… Tha 2nd verse from you ain’t too bad, here; a decent effort… My Rating: 3.7

06. “The Plan”
>>> Nothin’ special, here; definitely not diggin’ tha 1st verse wit all this “money” shit, smh… Tha hook sounds good for a focus, but fuck this “money” shit of today! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s decent; I don’t wanna say anythang! Lame outro, here!! My Rating: 2.5

½time: Nothin’ really for me, here… No Louisiana-soundin’ beats and all “money” rhymes. If this was mainstream bullshit, then I’d be down for it. This ain’t tha kinda shit I wanna get up an hour earlier for work to review, tho… A 3.2-rated CD, here; bleh…

07. “What You Mean” feat. LiveBoy Scooter x Mutt
Nice collab? Really? >>> A lil’ betta wit tha beat; a betta effort… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it ain’t bad, here… Not feelin’ tha hook, tho; get yo mind off tha “paper!” When I came to Louisiana, I ain’t have no focus on tha “paper!” I did err-thang I did and I had a huge success doin’ it! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ decent, so far; I can somewhat dig it… And, tha 3rd verse decent, here… My Rating: 3.2

08. “Sealed”
>>> Decent 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it aight… I’ono why, but I’m diggin’ these “catchin’ these playz” rhymes… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; diggin’ tha “promethazine” parts… My Rating: 3.3

09. “Real Rap”
Bubba title? >>> An Italian-sampled beat, here…; kinda sounds betta… Too bad I’m hearin’ all tha “money” shit in tha 1st verse, here… Aside from that, it ain’t too bad, here, but nothin’ special… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s decent; I’ll just say it’s okay… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, as well; decent shit, here… My Rating: 3.5

10. “Days”
>>> Just a decent track, here; decent 1st verse… Hearin’ tha hook and yeah, “I remember dem days;” glad I evolved from tha dude that just sat in his room… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it decent, too; nothin’ else ta say… My Rating: 3.1

11. “You Not My Nigga”
>>> Yada-yada, here… “Talkin’ ‘bout tha same shit;” that sounds like this, here, on tha 1st verse… Nothin’ special on tha hook, here; just decent… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it ain’t bad, as well… My Rating: 2.6

12. “Windshield”
>>> A slow track ta end thangz off… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it decent; not gon comment too much on it… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice, I must say; this “windshield” nice… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it aight; you rap about tha same shit, most of tha time… My Rating: 2.7

Overall: You prolly remember this from a few years ago: I’m not big about tha “money” bullshit (still not big about it). I’ve gotten robbed so many times after, not just with rappers but some co-workers, too… But yeah, no Louisiana vibes, here, so it’s basically in one ear and out tha otha, fa me…

Review #1,359: FrankieThaLuckyDog Presents "Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 16: ...Tha End?"

Reviewed on 12.21.2013 (Review #1,359)

‘Bout ta review tha 16th and final installment of my Tha Louisiana Archives mixtape compilation. It’s unfortunate that it’s my last; find out more when I review tha outro to this mixtape! So once again, here goes my review for FrankieThaLuckyDog Presents Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 16: …Tha End?. BTW, due to a lack of interest people had in this, I did not host, mix, and blend it! Start Time: 4:11 PM | End Time: 4:46 PM

After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

01. Savage “Money Whipped”
Startin’ off wit a slow jam? Goes to show you I could care less about what’s goin’ on… Either way, had a Savage day on October 22, 2013, after a random dream. I added this to show luv, and that’s why it’s on here. Samples SWV’s “Weak” on tha hook; sounds more upbeat on my CD, here, thanx to tha boost in tha pitch! Sav can pull this off and it sounds good. Nice slow/semi-upbeat vibe for tha ladies! My Current Rating: 4.0

02. 2 Slugz Feat. Lil’ Cali “All Week”
My Current Rating: 4.5

03. 31st Deedy Feat. Savage & Ree-Up “Dope Boi Swag”
My Current Rating: 4.7

04. Hollowtip “#MollyWorld”
My Current Rating: 4.3

05. Lil’ Cali Feat. Versey “Pow!”
My Current Rating: 4.7

06. Live Boy Scooter “Get Smoked”
Added this based off tha fact that Scooter showed me luv by followin’ me on Twitter. However, he ain’t answer my call and then, ain’t answer me back on Twitter about tha call. It kinda tells me that I jumped too quick with this song. Like, I added it without a result? A lil’ too quick… Anyway, this joint’s kinda random for me. Tha hook sounds like a sampled kid from tha hood or somethin’. And, rhymes are a lil’ random, once again… My Current Rating: 3.5

½time: So far, good, but all of these songs flopped on my playlist, after I started really gettin’ into Gunplay’s music, and leanin’ off of Louisiana music… But, tha CD’s at a 4.3 CD rating, so far…

07. Point Blank Fam Feat. Kevin Gates “Roller Coaster”
My Current Rating: 4.9

08. Racked-Up Ready Feat. Savage “Ain’t Tryna Be Ya Mane”
My Current Rating: 4.6

09. Sess 4-5 Feat. Mr. Magic “#SeeWutDatDo”
My Current Rating: 4.8

10. Doonie “Da Quickness”
My Current Rating: 4.8

11. Yung Yola “Everybody Thuggin’”
Just got this two dayz ago. Lemme hear this for tha 1st time and see what’s up wit this… >>> Wow, didn’t even hear tha 1st second, as it says that he produced tha track! Now, it’s all about “Mollies;” glad he adjustin’ to it! Beat sounds regular (almost figured it was an online beat when I skimmed through a few seconds), and tha hook’s catchy. Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good; his rhymes definitely are consistent and are great fa me! Don’t mind what he spittin’, too! Gotta not “pick up ya pants,” like ya said, ‘cause ya showin’ ya ass! Glad you still got that in you, Yola! That’s why I luv you wit all my heart! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and good shit! “Time ta light tha blunt up;” keep smokin’, my boy! Wow, this went by quick; I thought a 3rd verse was gon come outta this… My Rating: 4.6

12. FrankieThaLuckyDog “Outro: Final Message”
Here’s what I had to say:
It's FrankieThaLuckyDog, here, with a statement I need to make. Unfortunately, it looks like this'll be my final installment of Tha Louisiana Archives. Time and time again, I've tried to create an outlet for tha unknown - tha ones that aren't widely known in Louisiana, but there's a complete lack of interest. A lack of interest that makes me have a lack of interest for new Louisiana music. There wasn't one person that booked a spot on my mixtape, and it's only $20 for a spot! For someone who posts for over 3,000 Facebook “friends,” it goes to show you how unimportant I am in this underground—“fantasy world”—of Louisiana. I thought I was “known” to tha point where people would know that every 90 dayz, I would drop a mixtape, not where I'd have to constantly waste time posting about it. I would've loved to stay on a consistent grind like no other, and put a mixtape out every 90 dayz, for years and decades, without feeling too old; too bad tha people don't agree wit me, and made me last for only 16 rounds! I also believe that tha Louisiana generation I embraced, starting back in 2007, was what I was born to love: Club bangaz, jiggalatin' anthems, people embracing tha sound of Louisiana, and gangsta shit with a Baton Rouge underground sound. Now, people like Mista Cain, who randomly get thrown into a raffle and picked to get all tha “attention”, iz what's this generation, that I don't understand; it's another reason why they get 300 likes in an hour, and I get only 3 in a day. While sometimes, tha sound of Baton Rouge iz still there, tha passion for being promoted iz nowhere to be found, and I can't stand those who knock tha jigg sound. It's like, bitch, you prolly fake and ain't got money, anyway, so look who's talkin'! It makes me not take Louisiana music serious, anymore. All I do iz get pigeonholed to my damn radio show—not station—that has been defunct for tha past 16 months! If you can't figure out what I've been doin', or what's still active of mine, then you're not a fan of me; you're a loser and a loser! I'm not this mysterious secret! I apologize for wasting hundreds and over a thousand dollars on trying my best to promote tha unknown, through awards, booking, and everything I've done. I apologize for freezin' my ass off in zero-degree weather to create a passionate image of showin' an artist luv, where they've chosen to not appreciate and ignore what I've done. I apologize for bringing light to such shitheads on my tri-weekly playlists, to where I would make you feel as important as Billboard-charting artists in other genres and other countries! They would look at y'all as somethin' cool; meanwhile, tha “cool” would be future embarrassment for me. I also don't understand why nobody has even taken tha time or money to come and visit me; I don't understand what tha problem iz! I do wanna thank 2 Chainz & Gunplay for creating a withdrawal from tha ignoring disappointments of Louisiana for me. Just realizing that there's other music out there makes me think positive. I cannot tolerate ruining my health and aging quicker, just to chase people who don't appreciate me. One final word of advice before I go: PLEASE make sure you don't become a dad too early, especially in your teens/early 20's and while you're tryna build yourself as an artist!! Too many people who I've tried to promote get caught up in fatherhood, and they lose their passion as a full-time artist. It's like, are you a great dad and a shitty artist, or a great artist and a shitty dad? You can't be 100 in both worlds! With that bein' said, I will continue to be active in my OWN world; doin' what I LOVE doin'!! And, if you can't appreciate that, I could give a FUCK what you think about what I wanna do!! Most of y'all are self-centered, anyway! With only approximately $100 left to my name, tha hard-to-get Louisiana money ain't worth tha shit I have to go through to get it!  It's now time for me to get a REAL job!! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Other than tha random Scooter song, this a consistent mixtape! Too bad it has to come to an end! Unfortunately, we got no artists in Louisiana that have any “money,” so no money, no continuing! Dedication always iz required to push shit like this out! Aight, I gon stop talkin’; I gotta get back to doin’ what I’m doin’!

Time fa Boss Click Muzik ta stand up, here: 2 Slugz a.k.a. Slugz Lucas No Handouts (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl) iz what I finna review! Start Time: 8:06 PM | End Time: 9:32 PM

01. “No Handouts (Intro)”
LOL, my 1st review:
>>> I really like how you sound in tha beginning, here; always C.A.F.—cool as fuck! Consistent rhymes!! Soundin’ cool throughout this whole intro; good shit! And, Earl on tha outro, here; gotta feel how anticipated he iz!! My Rating: 4.3
What wound up bein’ my 2nd review (without realizing):
>>> Really likin’ how you comin’ through on tha intro, here; gotta feel it! Betta than tha Lil’ Snupe 16 & Runnin’ CD I previously reviewed; you got dat good vibe, here! Hearin’ tha 1st verse (or, only verse, based off this length), and it sounds good… LOL, tha “Instagram flexin’” line again, from a previous song. Oh, I think this was tha “No Handout (Intro)”. LOL, forgot tha intro was incorrect… Oh wait, this iz tha intro… LOL, I wound up rating it tha same, twice; weird… My Rating: 4.3

02. “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”
>>> Ooh, this sounds catchy wit tha beat and how you deliver tha hook! This one that “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”; tight shit! Tha 1st verse sounds good, here; you keepin’ tha sound up! Can’t deny Slugz! Always sounds like you’ve neva had a bad moment; you keep bein’ uplifted! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good, too. Almost thought tha 1st ½ of it sounds a lil’ off-beat, but I can’t front on listenin’ ta you right now, Slugz! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Cell Phone Ringin’” Feat. Zoom
Keep ‘em comin’! >>> Sounds like a “Welcome To Jamrock” sample in tha beginning; let’s see what this about… Earl obsessed wit swaggin’, here… Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad, here… Okay, this tha “Cell Phone Ringin’” song, finally… Ooh @ Zoom on tha 2nd verse; sounds like Juvie, and sounds like a great black dude! Like, when you see a black dude and they just proud of who they are? Well, that’s what he sounds like, and I’m definitely feelin’ what he bringin’ to tha table!! Shit-fuckin’-yeah!! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Insane”
B_Bangerz doin’ tha beat, here! >>> Good reppin’ in tha beginning, Earl! “Boss Click Muzik!” Here’s tha “Insane” song; lol, startin’ off wit tha 1st verse wit tha title! Catchy, consistent rhymes on tha 1st verse from you, Slugz! Good shit! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, here; straight “wiggin’, bruh,” lol! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Tomorrow” Feat. Young Racks
True dat! >>> Nice vibe, here; sounds like you’re focused!! LOL, this “Tomorrow”, wit some “alright, alright” shit in tha background, too! Catchy job; ironic dat Rocko’s “Tomorrow” came on Music Choice: Rap as a lil’ throwback today. Haven’t heard it in a while; can’t believe it’s five years old! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and we startin’ wit tha Young Racks dude! I luv tha peeps you be teamin’ up wit, Slugz; they official wit it! Gotta give it up ta this Racks dude, comin’ through nicely fa you! Now, here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through nicely on tha 2nd verse, too! “Bustin’ like piñataz!” My Rating: 4.3

06. “On That R. Kelly” Feat. Mac Soul
A bonus ta end, which iz not on tha back cover? Let’s see what we got, here… >>> Funny how Earl’s still in tha background. I neva thought that my weird-thinking mix-and-mastering that I do would be easier to hear… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and we got you, comin’ through wit an okay vibe. LOL, I’m not sure about this title. We’ll see what happens… Anyway, it’s you on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good shit fa tha ladies, as you’re active on ‘em, lol! My Rating: 4.0

07. “Click Juice” Feat. Codakk Demond
LOL, I was just thinkin’ about “Juice”-titled songs, earlier today. I remember hangin’ wit my boy, Juice, from my 1st college, and there bein’ “Juice”-titled songs out, back in’ 08 (Kane & Abel “Get Rite Juice” & Tyga “Coconut Juice”), lol! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! >>> Hearin’ tha 1st second, and it sounds like this tha “Click Juice”; let’s see… Yup; sounds like a good hook and all about gettin’ fucked up! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, Slugz; good shit! Codakk sounds catchy on tha 2nd verse; “listen very carefully” ‘cause he deliverin’ some great shit! “My secret weapon;” this dude’s official wit it, fa dat Boss Click! My Rating: 4.3

08. “Star”
B-to-tha-Bangerz! >>> This sounds catchy; I like how tha beat sounds, as well as how you sound on this, Slugz! Nice job wit tha 1st verse… This one’s “Star”. LOL, thought it was gonna be tha bonus track… Damn, 37 seconds of silence at tha end? Not cool… My Rating: 4.2

09. “One Life To Live” Feat. Chop & Chess
>>> Sounds like a forgivin’ song… Sounds catchy, and it sounds familiar? LOL, I got tha right title here, based off of swapping (“One Life To Live”). Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it’s you, comin’ through wit your “status up;” that’s what’s “up!” Really feelin’ tha hook, as I’m hearin’ it for tha 2nd time! Gotta luv how you “put your heart and soul” inta it! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and I dunno if I wanna say this, but they give me a Meek Mill feel—that sounds so 2008, when I say that name. Anyway, anotha good collab! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from Chess here, and it sounds like it fits. And, an Earl check-in at tha end… My Rating: 4.3

½time: So far, off to a great start, just as I expected!! Slugz, you definitely holdin’ it down, and as much as I enjoy Earl, I have ta say, will he get outta tha background and come center? Either way, 4.3 for tha current CD rating!! Also, sometimes, during tha ½ point, I call folks, see if they’ll answer. Lemme see if you’ll answer, real quick… Of course, Slugz answered (forgot that I didn’t give him my new #)! 6:57! Also, got tha ‘Slugz hookup’ on thangz, so I got ta hear some interesting thangz! Glad we’ve been connected since Spring 2009!

10. “100 Roundz” Feat. Live Boy Scooter
Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! I know you can last “100 roundz,” Slugz! >>> I like how Earl’s in tha intro, here, but he sounds way too far deep in tha background, lol? Anyway, title mix-up? Sounds like you’re sayin’, “100 Roundz,” a lot, here, which iz one of your titles…? Weird, but I’ll see what happens… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and it sounds good, just as catchy as tha hook. Tha 2nd verse sounds good here, too; keep it comin’! Oh, here’s a feature: Okay, I guess this iz “100 Roundz” and not “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”. We got Live Boy Scooter on tha 3rd verse, here, and he crazy wit it!! Gotta luv how he comin’ through wit it!! Fastness, hood shit; gotta luv it!! How many times I gon say it?! “Gotta luv it!!!” Good outro from Earl, too… My Rating: 4.4

11. “Jumpin’” Feat. Bigg Nick & J.Beezie
>>> If this tha right song, it sounds good for a start… Sounds like you enjoyin’ yaself on tha 1st verse; can’t complain about it, Slugz! Fuck! Anotha error: Damn, this gon be a confusing-ass review! This #11: “Jumpin’” Feat. Bigg Nick & J.Beezie. I’m cutting/pasting tha original titles, and swappin’ ‘em, so I don’t get confused, later on… Anyway, that Bigg Nick dude on tha 2nd verse serious wit it!! Definitely feelin’ how he comin’ through, and forcin’ tha haterz ta “eat” sum “dick” at tha end! That dude tha truth! Hope we connect real soon! Got Beezie on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some nice shit, on a consistent level—damn @ tha fast rhymes on tha 4th bar!! LOL @ tha ending from Earl, broadcastin’ from, like, a baseball field! My Rating: 4.4

12. “Freaky”
B-Bangerz! >>> Let’s see if this “Freaky”—oh, Earl said tha title in tha beginning. Here we go again wit tha title swap… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it sounds great on this beat! Slugz, you know you tha truth if you “skeeted in her hair!!” Damn, Slugz!! I like how Earl appears in tha hooks, outta nowhere. LOL, he’s so buried in tha background!! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too, Slugz! You wild wit it!! My Rating: 4.3

13. “Runnin’ Ya Trap”
>>> Sounds like you on some gangsta shit, here… Tha hook sounds nice; blends in nice from tha 1st verse! Let’s keep it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here… Sounds good; sounds like it went by quickly… LOL, Earl on tha ending! My Rating: 4.2

14. “Free”
LOL. >>> Nice beginning, wit a really slow beat, lol! Sounds catchy wit tha 1st verse, as your “dick” iz all ova these hoes, lol! Here’s “Free”, and what do ya know? Tha title on tha mp3 file iz correct! That’s a first fa this CD! Or, iz this “On That R. Kelly”, based off tha 2nd verse? I dunno, but we’ll see wit tha next song. I think I got this right, though, since it’s only you on this joint… Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.2

15. “Over Here” Feat. LEXCann
>>> Who’s “Alexis,” or what Earl said in tha beginning? Let’s see what gon happen… Sounds like a cool joint wit tha hook, here… Oh, this ain’t “Free”; this “Over Here”; really hoppin’ wit tha titles! Now, I see who tha featured person iz… She’s on tha 1st verse, and she sounds good, fa a youngin. Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, here, and it sounds nice. Glad you “loaded,” Slugz! Always gotta be “loaded;” it’s a great feelin’! Even got your “clothes soakin’ wet!” Sounds like you live a crazy/cool life; at least you ain’t gotta worry ‘bout no kids, unlike all these weirdos that have these crazy lives that I deal with! My Rating: 4.2

16. “Tear It Up” Feat. Drewsky
>>> This one iz “Tear It Up”… Not bad wit tha singin’ on tha hook, here! Here comes tha 1st verse, and this Drewsky dude’s sexed-up, lol. Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some catchy shit; immediately wants her, lol! My Rating: 4.1

17. “All Week” Feat. Lil’ Cali
Yes, a Lil’ Cali feature! LOL, I had a dream last night, and Lil’ Cali was in it. We was in Wilkes-Barre (about 40 minutes from my house), in some meeting (forgot what it was about). And, in order to get to it, I think, you had to fall down a really deep hole, underground. We tried to get some selfies and then, we went to Wal-Mart. I was tryin’ to upload tha pics, but there was no wi-fi. LOL, shout out ta Cali! His birthday was ironically two months ago today! >>> Tha beat sounds nice, here; sounds like that 2006 – 2008-soundin’ jiggin’ music!! Oh shit, this tha Lil’ Cali feature!! Can’t wait ta continue hearin’ this!! Catchy 1st verse, and tha hook’s catchy, too; you doin’ tha damn thang, Slugz!! Here’s Cali on tha 2nd verse, and lol, I thought he was gon “get head,” but he “duckin’ tha feds.” :( Great joint right chea!! Cali did tha damn thang; keep grindin’!! My Rating: 4.5

18. “Not This Time” Feat. Leezy & B.D.B.
>>> I’m likin’ tha quiet intro a lot, here… Had no idea what this was gon be, but it’s “Not This Time”… Tha hook sounds good/catchy fa this beat. Tha 1st verse sounds good, too, from you. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it sounds good, here… Not sure who on tha 2nd verse outta tha features, but good shit… Sounds like a lil’ break before tha 3rd verse? Now, tha 3rd verse, and it’s not bad… Nice job wit tha outro, Earl; gotta put tha contact info out there! Can’t believe I’ve been in contact wit you fa almost a ½ decade, Slugz! My Rating: 4.1

19. “Burn One” (Codakk Demond Feat. Slugz Lucas, B.D.B. & Mac Soul)
Not included…? My Rating: N/A

Overall: Okay, I screwed up tha titles to #01 & #11; lemme go back and see what they iz… LOL, #01 & #13 are tha intro… Based off tha feature, #11 must be “On That R. Kelly”? One that’s not on here iz tha bonus track: “Burn One” (Codakk Demond Feat. Slugz Lucas, B.D.B. & Mac Soul). Also, this iz how I reviewed tha CD, which was tha order it was in on LiveMixtapes:

01. “No Handouts (Intro)”
02. “100 Roundz” Feat. Live Boy Scooter
03. “Jumpin’” Feat. Bigg Nick & J.Beezie
04. “Freaky”
05. “Runnin’ Ya Trap”
06. “Over Here” Feat. LEXCann
07. “Not This Time” Feat. Leezy & B.D.B.
08. “Cell Phone Ringin’” Feat. Zoom
09. “Insane”
10. “Tomorrow” Feat. Young Racks
11. “On That R. Kelly” Feat. Mac Soul
12. “One Life To Live” Feat. Chop & Chess
13. “No Handouts (Intro)”
14. “Free”
15. “Tear It Up” Feat. Drewsky
16. “All Week” Feat. Lil’ Cali
17. “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”
18. “Click Juice” Feat. Codakk Demond
19. “Star”

I wound up puttin’ it in tha correct order in my review (according to tha back cover). Anyway, I thought this was a great CD, in your own wayz, Slugz!! I enjoyed it; you did tha damn thang wit this one!! Keep up tha great work!! But, I don’t think they should’ve mixed tha tracklist up this bad. Why couldn’t someone like Kevin Gates suffer tha consequences of a mixed-up tracklisting, lol?

Review #895: Monsta "40 Days & Fourty Knights"

Reviewed on 3.25.2011 (Review #895)

Keepin’ tha Monsta Ink reviewz comin’, this next one’s fa Monsta, himself; ‘preciate tha add on Facebook a month or two ago! :tu Here’s my review for his 40 Days & Fourty Knights CD! Start Time: 12:16 PM | End Time: 12:52 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Alone”
>>> Phone call leadin’ into a somewhat-cool beat start. I dunno about dis start; sounds a lil’ like Lauryn Hill, at first? Tha rhymes are a lil’ interestin’… My Rating: 3.6

02. Day 1
>>> It’s “4-09-2010”? Good intro… LOL, I thought this was gonna be a song; feelin’ tha lil’ skit you got, here. You sound a lil’ high or somethin’, which I’ll give a props to. My Rating: N/A

03. “Last Supper”
“Super”? >>> You prolly mean “Supper”, lol? Somewhat-smooth, here; feelin’ this, a lil’ bit. Basically, a straight-through set of rhymes, which iz not bad. My Rating: 3.5

04. “Cocaine Musik”
>>> LOL @ tha loud start! :rofl I like tha “dis dat shit” part in tha beginning; reminds me of somethin’ kush iz around! You have some interestin’ rhymes, here; likin’ tha “you sellin’ weed by tha…” part, includin’ tha Monsta-character voice. Thumbs up fa keepin’ shit interestin’ wit dis “cocaine musik”! Damn, lots of rhymes you got, here! My Rating: 3.9

05. “BMF (Remix)” Feat. Needy Nee & Breadrick
Interestin’ collaboration; let’s see tha comeback for Needy and what this otha dude’s about! >>> For a jacked beat, this iz tha best-soundin’ shit on here, currently!! Definitely luv how you come through on tha hook; gotta luv it!!! Thumbs up fa tha good shit fa tha hood on tha 1st verse, doin’ ya thang fa G-Lane! Ooh, Needy’s got some trap-type shit, here, on tha 2nd verse; definitely good fa dis track! Breadrick’s on tha 3rd verse and he sounds like a regular rapper wit a regular voice. However, I’m likin’ dat he blends in wit tha content, here, wit tha trap shit! My Rating: 4.4

06. “Mention My Name” Feat. Stacy Malibu & Live Boy Scooter
Good title and collaboration, it gon look like! >>> LOL @ tha Jeezy and tha hook sounds good… Stacy’s on tha 1st verse, soundin’ a lil’ smooth fa a track like dis. Ooh, she’s addin’ an attitude; I guess she was meant fa dis track, lol! Here’s tha 2nd verse… You’re comin’ through wit some catchy shit, ya dig? LOL @ tha “Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus” part. What does dis Scooter dude have ta offer? Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ him, G-Lane style… Shit yea, definitely likin’ what he bringin’, especially how he comes through on tha track! Definitely tha best one on this song; thumbs up, bruh! My Rating: 4.1

07. “Scoring” Feat. Lt. 00, F.E.D. & Needy Nee
Let’s keep tha collaborations comin’!! >>> Likin’ tha beat you picked, here; thumbs up on dis shit! I like tha theme of “scoring,” too; dumb shit! Good job wit tha 1st verse, too; you know it’s all about maintainin’! Tha hook’s cool; y’all know how ta make some good-ass hooks, at times! Here’s tha Lt., lol, on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit good rhymes and a good voice! Feelin’ tha attitude and what he bringin’ to tha table! Tha 3rd verse starts wit F.E.D.? Needy must be on tha 2nd ½ of it…; likin’ tha shit he bringin’ to tha table, too! LOL, gotta save Needy fa tha end; good mix, too! My Rating: 4.3

08. Kan’t Xplain It
LOL @ this spellin’! >>> LOL, it’s a skit, bitchy-perspective style, lol. My Rating: N/A

09. “She Don’t Like Me” Feat. Boywonda
Iz dat a real feature? >>> Looks like tha producer from “A Milli”? Catchy hook, here, when it comes ta bitchy side of tha females. Not too inta tha “Facebook” start ta tha 1st verse; you’ll prolly regret it a ½ decade from now. Kinda dry on tha 1st verse wit tha flow, so I dunno how interested I’m inta dis… Tha 2nd verse must be tha Boywonda dude, soundin’ a lil’ young? Not bad… My Rating: 3.4

10. “LaLaLa” Feat. Grits Gutta
>>> LOL @ tha ATC intro; too bad tha beat wasn’t tha actual beat but then again, I’m likin’ this Hip-Hop twist in tha beat, Southern vs. Techno style! Tha 1st verse sounds good wit tha beat; nice mix! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; nice job collaboratin’! Ooh, tha attitude’s growin’ in tha voice; dumb shit, especially tha progressin’ rhymes!!! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Crushed My Heart”
>>> LOL, a skit in tha beginning, here. Oh no, a wack beat start… Damn, long-ass intro? Oh, this beat; not too wack but then again, it’s not anything I’d go crazy about… Your rappin’ on dis beat’s pretty good, in a way; kinda interested and not, at tha same time, lol. My Rating: 3.1

12. “Mary Jane” Feat. Live Boy Scooter & Grits Gutta
>>> Ooh, you gettin’ me in tha mood wit tha smokin’ beginning! Ooh, soundin’-like-you’re-high vocals!! Thumbs up ta tha hook; definitely a plus!! Thumbs up fa this bein’ long, too, even though it could be a lil’ boring, too… Tha 2nd verse sounds betta, especially startin’ off wit “my eyez bloody red!” :tu Damn, definitely enjoyin’ all these weed-related rhymes! Tha 3rd verse iz a lil’ on tha high-type wit tha way tha vocals are delivered; good job, here! My Rating: 4.4

13. Friday, May 7
LOL… >>> Ooh, a number given out, right there! Don’t know tha dude on tha voicemail but thumbs up fa havin’ him check-in. My Rating: N/A

½time: 3.9-rated CD, currently; pretty-good shit, Monsta.

14. “Who Am I”
>>> LOL @ tha start bein’ tha “and he got killed” from tha end of tha voicemail, which was also at tha end of tha skit! I’m not too much inta this beat and this style ain’t really fa me…; your rhymes are aight. My Rating: 2.7

15. “Neva Happened” Feat. Déjà Vu
>>> Anotha sour-soundin’ beat fa me… Not really inta dis one, either; I guess this feature iz different from Daja Vu (sp?), who iz a rapper from Baton Rouge. Tha singin’ on tha hook ain’t anything special fa me, either… My Rating: 2.5

16. The Black Knight Speaks
>>> Nice attitude in tha voice, lol; anti-“hated!” My Rating: N/A

17. “Typical Wednesday”
>>> Damn, tha beats are goin’ downhill… Rhymes are a lil’ boring; can’t say much about this… My Rating: 2.4

18. First Saved Message
>>> Interestin’, but sounds like trouble… My Rating: N/A

19. “Window Seat”
>>> Of course, a good original song. But, how will it sound wit rappin’ on it? Decent, but not that special fa me. I even like how you sing a lil’ on tha hook, too, lol. Overall, I dunno… My Rating: 2.9

20. “Think Of Me” Feat. Déjà Vu & Stacy Malibu
>>> Not likin’ dis sound—well, tha beat ain’t too bad… Your rappin’ iz not bad, here. LOL @ Stacy wit tha phone call-type of rappin’; that’s interestin’, and she sounds good, too! My Rating: 3.2

21. “Close But No Cigar”
LOL @ a cliché sayin’ for a title; that’s a lil’ different. >>> LOL @ tha voicemail, once again, for tha intro. For some reason, wit you rappin’ on dis, it gives me a Curren$y feel. Gettin’ in tha mood wit “(pullin’ your) pants down,” here, lol? At least tha rhymes are descriptive ‘cause when tha songs are about tha girls, they gotta be descriptive and, sometimes, X-rated fa me ta like more. My Rating: 3.2

22. SMH; LMFAO
LOL @ this title! >>> Oh no, a skit/phone call, lol! WTH?!? LOL! Mysterious girl voices! :rofl My Rating: N/A

23. “Camera Phones” Feat. Nonsense
I dunno about what dis gon turn out ta be… >>> Not too interested in tha beat start; tha hook now sounds like 50 Cent, lol. Monsta, you sound like a bunch of different rappers/people at different times, lol. Tha rappin’ sounds a lil’ East Coastish, here; you gon “make (someone’s) main chick turn dyke”? ROFL, what’s up wit dat? Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad… My Rating: 2.8

24. “Lie To Me” Feat. Bookie Blak
LOL, this featured dude rhymes wit Mookie Blakk; how’d dat come about, lol? >>> Still keepin’ tha East Coast-soundin’ jointz goin’… Tha rhymes are a lil’ catchy in tha 1st verse, here… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad; damn, this iz too East Coast wit dis beat… My Rating: 2.9

25. Real Talk
>>> Oh no, anotha skit, lol! It sounds like Beezy Bird wit how they said, “dawg,” lol. Gotta feel this instant talkin’; how does it come about? LOL, how do things become important? My Rating: N/A

26. “Soldiers For Hire” Feat. Shenny & Pain
Not really interested in what dis looks like so I dunno what ta expect. >>> Tha beat sounds interestin’…; tha 1st verse iz a lil’ on tha decent side wit tha slow flow. When you say, “hire,” it almost sounds like, “higher,” but I think you got this right since you have a better understanding of what this title means. Tha 2nd verse must be dat dude dat was previously on tha phone? Sounds a lil’ like a Beezy Bird-type flow; good shit… Tha 3rd verse ain’t bad, either… My Rating: 3.6

27. “40 Days & Fourty Knights (Freestyle)”
Ending it wit tha title track, freestyle style, lol! >>> Intro sounds like some slow, Sade-type remix. Tha rappin’ sounds like a typical Wayne/Drake flow? Why does dat have ta be tha kinda shit when people think of freestyles? :confused You should have more energy in dis, especially since it’s a ‘freestyle’. Also, why iz this so long? My Rating: 2.4

Overall: Damn, I thought this was gonna maintain ta be betta… I guess it was tha East Coast-soundin’ shit dat disappointed me, a lil’. Also, I dunno if you were high or aggravated, but you needed a lil’ more energy, at times, too. Surprised Slaughterman’s 10-song CD was statistically betta than this when I like you betta.
