Broadcasting from Freeville, NY, it's ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog here, sadly reportin' anotha tragic loss in tha Louisiana rap community.
Charles Davalie, known by his stage name, Charlie Whop, was murdered on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at around 4:30 PM, in New Orleans, LA, off North Broad Street & Saint Bernard Avenue; he was only 49 years-old. Tha passing of Davalie was brought to tha media's attention for condolences, thanx to fellow N'awlinz rapper/good friend, Hot Boy Ronald. History-wise, courtesy of people like tha late Magnolia Shorty, tha song, "Charlie Whop!!", became an anthem to represent Davalie's talent in New Orleans, durin' tha '90s. Durin' tha year 2000, Davalie released his only album, History, courtesy of King's Entertainment. As tyme went on, Davalie kept his N'awlinz credit alive with tha reputation he had brought to tha streetz of tha 504. However, once March 8, 2023 came around, it was tha last tyme Davalie was alive, as he was fatally shot dead. If Davalie made it to see July 11th of this year, he woulda celebrated his 50th birthday.

Frankie's 26th commercial series & 977th day in a row of releasing a commercial!
Starting August 1, 2022, Frankie's promotin' & showin' luv to damn-near every underground, Louisiana rap release from 1983 - 2013! Watch as a total of 23,701 intros, outros, skits, tracks (you name it!) are played from now till June 21, 2087; that's somethin' diff'rent every day!
This series will go on from August 1, 2022 - June 21, 2087. How much do you know about Louisiana's underground?
Up
early, on this 1st day of June… My goal iz to reach my 2,000th
review by June 10, 2021, in honor of it bein’ a decade since my 1,000th
review, back on June 10, 2011. I just hate that I have neck pains by lookin’ down
at my laptop, as well as tha shit I have to deal with with my lower back… I’ve
been exercisin’ as much as I can, consistently, just tryna get back in shape.
With that bein’ said, let’s see how this release’ll go: 5th Ward Weebie Take
It To The Hole, released on 2000 on South Coast Music Group, entirely
produced by Full Pack Music. I don’t feel like goin’ through a bunch of tha
file work & researchin’ for tha newer releases, so I’m goin’ with tha older
releases I still have yet to review. Start
Time: 4:58 AM | End Time: 5:50 AM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song;
anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m
listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune
in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’
topics), I’m not buyin’ it!
01.
Intro – New Year’s Eve feat. Kango & Mr. Meana
>>>
Lots of “bruh” nouns in tha beginning, here, just off tha 1st 15
seconds; diggin’ it. Likin’ how you holdin’ it down fa tha energy, here; wish
you were still alive… My Rating: N/A
02.
“Take It To The Hole” feat. Partners-N-Crime
>>> Nice way ta lead inta this track wit tha “Happy New Year!” Hearin’
tha hook & it sounds good; beat sounds like a Caribbean-mixed-with-bounce
vibe, which iz cool. I’m diggin’ tha chantin’ & continuous energy you
bringin’ to tha 1st verse, here; you know what it iz…! Nice 2nd
verse, too, as you continuously hold it down fa tha 5-0-4! Nice wit how you
added PNC to join you, on tha final verse; good energy, altogether… My Rating: 4.2
03.
“I Really Want You” feat. Partners-N-Crime
>>> Anotha nice-soundin’ bounce beat wit that Caribbean-soundin’ vibe;
good shit, includin’ tha chick on tha hook. Hearin’ tha 1st verse
& it sounds good wit what you’re bringin’ to tha table, of course; nothin’
but energy applied. Got Mista Meana from PNC on tha 2nd verse &
it’s cool; can’t deny tha energy, of course…! A lil’ bit of singin’ from Kangol
on tha 3rd verse/bridge part, soundin’ nice ta contribute; good
shit. My Rating: 3.9
04.
Boo-Diddy (Skit) feat. Zilla
>>> Rough in da hood, especially tha deals wit tryna get shit fa a
lower price. Luv tha hood dialect, tho; tha hood on top! Alwayz! My Rating: N/A
05.
“Watch These Niggas” feat. Zilla
>>> Also known as tha title “Watch’em”; sounds like a good lil’ hook
fa tha hood, here… Feelin’ how tha beat comin’ through, as it reminds me of tha
2000’s undaground & mainstream tymes of tha 5-0-4, with quality. Hearin’
tha 1st verse & it’s all tha way real wit Weebie, of course;
good shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty nice; just jam to
it, basically…! A 3rd verse from you, here, soundin’ nice ta
continue, of course; glad tha hood had buku respect fa you, bruh. My Rating: 4.1
06.
“Get Naked”
>>> A nice “5th Ward” intro, here, ta hype tha people up…
Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds great; can’t deny tha energy, of course! Tha
horns blowin’ nicely on tha beat, too; gotta have tha energy in your life!
Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty consistent wit tha chantin’;
glad you had tha people always movin’! Long song that’s almost 5 ½ minutes long
but at least tha energy neva stops…, literally! My Rating: 4.2
07.
“W.S.C.M.G. Radio” (Prime Time)
>>> Premierin’ tha “As The World Turns” track from Prime Time, here;
nice intro from tha DJ & good rhymes from Prime… So much repeatin’ of tha
“when it comes down to tha come down…,” toward tha end? Still straight, tho. My Rating: 3.8
½tyme: A 4.0-rated release, currently; gotta
luv tha consistent energy! Quality energy without any wack vibes to ruin your
role!
08.
“5th Ward Weebie (Pt. 2)”
>>> More consistency, here, even if it’s 6 ½ minutes long; keep it
goin’, Weebie! Really, despite it bein’ 6 ½ minutes long, there’s nothin’
really ta say. It’s just you chantin’ a bunch of shit fa tha wards & shit;
gotta respect it! I like how you switched up tha flow after tha 5:00 mark with
tha sing-rap style; at least you had it on lock! Lol @ “if tha pussy smell like
onions”; pee-to-tha-ewe! My Rating: 4.4
09.
“Fuck You Like A Dog” feat. Drama Squad
>>> Sounds like anotha hyped-up beat & hook; good shit, here!
Hearin’ tha 1st verse from tha Drama Squad & it cool; 5-0-4
truly in tha buildin’ wit this one! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from more
of tha Drama Squad & it cool, once again; y’all know what tha word “energy”
iz! Good way ta move tha crowd wit more of tha Drama Squad on tha 3rd
verse, here; gotta get it “out” ‘em, ya heard me?! My Rating: 4.0
10.
The Football Game (Skit)
>>> Sounds like a good day, despite me not fuckin’ wit “football.” My Rating: N/A
11.
“Got Them Hoes (Off The Heezy)” feat. Zilla
>>> This intro has a ‘90s vibe with that female singin’ in tha
beginning. A lil’ slower than all tha energy provided on this album; it’s still
nice with that 42 seconds of singin’, tho. Hearin’ tha 1st verse
from you, Weebie & it cool; strictly 2000, here. Hearin’ tha 2nd
verse & I had ta figure out what was goin’ on with my “Got Them Hoes” title
vs. which titles were on Discogs. After comparin’ tha lengths of tha tracks, I
see that this features Zilla on tha 2nd verse & it sounds nice;
good collab. My Rating: 3.7
12.
“5th Ward Dog (I’m Out Dat 5th Dog)” feat. Ol’ Red Dogg
>>> Diggin’ this energetic start, between tha beat & tha 1st
verse! “Burn like bacon,” huh? Of kiggy-kiggy-course! This collab sounds nice
wit Ol’ Red Dogg on tha collab, strictly runnin’ tha 2nd verse fa
tha 5-0-4! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from a “T-Slim” dude? Either way,
tha collaboration, overall, sounds dope! Tha 3rd verse fulla so much energy & street vibes! Oh,
“two Gs,” huh? Tha Ol’ Red Dogg dude strikes again, on tha track? My Rating: 4.3
13.
“W.S.C.M.G. Radio” (Bayou Boy)
>>> Great job wit tha introduction again, W.S.C.M.G. Radio; as far as
Bayou Boy, he str8 wit his contributed verse. My Rating: 3.6
14.
“Fucking You” feat. Bayou Boy & Partners-N-Crime
>>> Feelin’ tha energy brought to tha beat’s intro, here; let’s git
it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & it cool; luv your energy at
all tymes! Such a shame that you had
ta pass…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds a lil’ hilarious: “Fuckin’ you iz
cool but I feel like fuckin’ your friend,” especially tha “your friend” vocal
increase, lol. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds str8; just a
regular voice flowin’ on this nice beat, basically. Hearin’ tha 3rd
verse & it’s more of that Weebie/PNC energy that you can’t deny; good shit!
Hearin’ tha final 53 seconds & it sounds like tha orgasms are on…! Sounds
like quiet orgasms; thought it woulda got more rough? My Rating: 3.9
15.
“Outro” feat. Zilla
>>>
Lol @ tha “we at tha end of my record, end of my record” chant; you know what
it iz, Weebie! Tha contributin’ rhymes are pretty nice, toward tha end, as tha
verse starts at 3:41; S/O to Zilla! My
Rating: 4.2
Overall: Excellent amount of
energy provided, here; good shit! I may’ve liked Ghetto Platinum betta but this still goes off, of course! Great job
collaboratin’ wit your 5-0-4 fam, as well; tha energy neva dies, even when you
(sadly) die first…!
Rankings:

Stanley Guarian, known by his stage name, Tragic, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020; he was only 47-years-old.
Guarian was born in Baton Rouge, LA on February 2, 1973; tha stage name "Tragic" was an acronym that stood for "The Recording Artist Gifted In Christ." Guarian was a part of Baton Rouge, LA's Dirty Boyz rap group. Tha Dirty Boyz were formed durin' tha late '90s, in Baton Rouge, LA. Their original lineup consisted of members Kash, Tic, Black, Spade, Fatt Albert & Tragic, himself. Startin' their career under tha label IceHouse Records, tha Dirty Boyz released their debut album, 36 Ounces. Shortly after tha release, tha Dirty Boyz were later forced to leave IceHouse. Bouncin' right back, DB member, Kash, formed a new label, Dirty Boy Recordz (sometimes labeled as "DirtyBoy Entertainment" or "Dirty Boy Records," with an "S"). In 2006, tha Dirty Boyz released their 2nd album, Gutta Wayz 2 Get Paid. However, right before tha group's follow-up album dropped, tha group was down ta only three members, Fatt Albert, Tic & Kash. Needless ta say, tha group's 3rd album, Take Dat, Vol. 2, was released in 2008. As tha next decade went on, DB member, Fatt Albert, formed his own label, Beyond Reproach Entertainment. However, on tha tragic side of thangz, group member, Spade, had passed away & then, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Tragic tragically passed away. Earlier, on February 2nd of this year, Guarian celebrated his 47th birthday.

Cosey also teamed up with tha 504 group, Partners-N-Crime, in 2009, with their track, "So Attracted", from their We Are Legends CD. Collectively, throughout his career, Cosey was featured on over 40 other CDs, ranging from areas like tha N.O., to Baton Rouge, to Mississippi, to Texas & all luv throughout tha south. As tha 2010's rolled on, Cosey even built his empire by collaborating with Toronto's Drake. In 2018, Cosey, alongside BlaqNmilD, Drake, 504's Big Freedia & Fort Erie's Murda Beatz, all were in tha studio to create tha bounce-inspired single, "Nice For What". Tha single would go to debut at #1 on tha Billboard Hot 100 chart, for tha week of April 21, 2018. Despite topping tha Billboard charts, Cosey's fame would be short-lived, as on Thursday, January 9, 2020, he passed away, while being hospitalized for complications related to a ruptured artery. If Cosey lived to see February 19, of this year, he woulda turned 42 years-old.
