Review #287: Johnnie Domino "Album Rejects Vol. 2"

Reviewed on 8.17.2009 (Night of 8.16.2009) (Review #287)

ANOTHA REVIEW?!? LOL!! Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog iz STILL AWAKE, doin' this shit!! I just don't stop, and this gon be tha last one for tha night: For my boy Johnnie Domino, and his final release called "Album Rejects Vol. 2"! Tha 1st one had FIYA production from Sims, Mouse, and had a good amount of people on there; hope tha same iz for this one!! BTW, last night, I set tha record (at about 1:03 AM) for latest review I've eva done. Now, I'm resettin' it, lmao!! It past 1:50 AM now, and here goes my review fa Johnnie Domino "Album Rejects Vol. 2"! Start Time: 1:54 AM | End Time: 3:01 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "All Bark" Feat. Maverick & Savage
I can FEEL a REAL CLASSIC CD right here, ya heard me!! Wit a lineup like THAT for tha 1st song (wit Mouse doin' tha beat), you KNOW this CD DESERVES ta have tha record fa latest review I've eva done!! Here goes tha record, set at 1:54 AM!!! >>> Really like tha Mouse start here; reminds me of some video game, lol!! This iz off to a NICE start wit tha 1st verse wit Maverick doin' tha damn thang! Doin' such a GREAT JOB wit this HOT-ASS shit right here!!! I'm glad I'm real cool wit you, Domino; we doin' MAJOR THANGZ right now, ya heard me!! Real nice job wit tha rappin' from Maverick on tha 1st verse, and that hook iz on some catchy-ass shit!! I like tha whole "I see these niggaz all barkin', but I don't see these niggaz bitin'" part! Supa Sav here on tha 2nd verse, doin' tha damn thang wit a lil' bit of a faster flow from him! Nearly sounds like Max Minelli on this one, doin' a NICE job wit his hood lyrics! My boy Domino here on tha 3rd verse, doin' a nice job here! Gotta like tha "dog type" lyrics wit this whole song! Great lyrics goin' on here; straight street shit here! DEFINITELY a REAL GREAT start to this CD!! LOL, barkin' at tha end!! My Rating: 4.6

02. "Forgot Where You Came From" Feat. Maverick & S.B.R. Boy
SIMS ON THA TRACK!!! And 5:00 FLAT on tha length!!! This tha 1st time I'm hearin' my boy S.B.R. on a song (recently heard him on that freestyle he recently uploaded about how raw it iz in Baton Rouge [forgot what it was called])!! HUGE anticipation, so I ain't gon wait any longer!! >>> Tha beat iz DEFINITE pure at its finest! Tha hook sounded a lil' slow at first, but it soundin' pretty good! Tha 1st verse here, and it's soundin' pretty good. Nice job, Domino, on all tha shit you just rapped about on that verse! Here comes tha 2nd verse from Maverick, startin' off flamin' wit tha "hot boy with a torch" part; great shit he spittin' right now!! He outshined you on this song, Domino, lol. But, it ain't all about outshinin' each otha on tha track; it about deliverin' that HOT SHIT!! That beat effect at 3:09 sounded like a Blu Black beat effect wit tha silence; nice job/influence, Sims! It's S.B.R. on tha 3rd verse, and I thought he would be ANGRIER ('cause of that freestyle), but his rhymes are DEFINITELY tha shit, so that's a plus! Yea, tha song iz endin' wit a chirp! Nice Sims beat ending at 4:32!! I like tha phone conversation wit whoeva you're on tha phone wit (couldn't hear who it was 'cause tha beat was still playin'). Great shit right here! My Rating: 4.5

03. "My Bad (Radio)" Feat. Jimi Jump, Backdraft, Ms. Peaches & Lacey
A radio edit and no dirty version? But, anotha Sims beat!! Not sure what ta expect wit all these people (and 1 or 2 females)... I'm sure this iz on sum TIGHT SHIT even wit Jimi Jump on it!! >>> Pretty good intro, but that hook sounds betta; great females on it. Here's tha 1st verse, and it soundin' good on this great beat. You did ya thang on this, Domino. You seemed real interested in tha female/party on that verse! Let's see what we got on tha 2nd verse... Yea, Jimi Jump here! SMH @ tha censored "purple" part... He always comes through without givin' a fuck! Nice job from Jump, as he jumped onto tha song perfectly! Let's hear what tha 3rd verse has ta offer... A female? I thought it was gon be a male... Mixin' pretty good in this, so that's a plus. Seein' all these features on this CD already reminds me of Beat Flippa's "Street Certified" CD last year, which sounded REAL GREAT, and had BUKU features! My Rating: 4.2

04. "Lac Ridin'" Feat. J-Von
Tha spellin' looks odd on Datpiff (it says "Llac Ride'in"); I fixed it. Anyway, got producer O.N.E. on this, so this gon shine sum new light wit tha legendary J-Von on this; lookin' forward a WHOLE lot!!! >>> Decent beat soundin'; sounds like it samples a few songs... Tha beginning of this iz soundin' good, and already, only 43 seconds in, tha beat sounds much betta, and fits NICE wit this song! You doin' yo thang on tha 1st verse, Domino, wit tha "lac ridin'" lyrics. Ooh, tha hook sounds good for singin'! Tha 2nd verse here from J-Von, doin' a nice job wit his rappin'! Gotta luv tha legendary rappers from Louisiana!! Tight-ass flow, and great lac style here!! Here comes tha 3rd verse, and it's off to a gr8 start! Keepin' tha subject on point, so you KNOW tha "ridin'" doesn't lack, lol! Nice job, Domino! Felt that verse betta than tha 1st one! My Rating: 4.5

05. "The Hardway" Feat. Big Cheezy & Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R.
Almost looks like a depressin' title, but Q-Red's on tha track, so there should be no tears! Lookin' forward ta hearin' how tha featured peeps gon sound too; 5:09 on tha length!! >>> Of course, off to a pretty good start for tha intro! Unlike tha last song, which sounded real loud, this sounds lower. Okay, that hook iz DEFINITELY nice; feelin' it!! Wow, tha 2nd 1/2 of it iz REAL NICE wit that Q-Red beat!! Here's "tha professor," Johnnie Domino, on tha 1st verse! Way "too fresh" here since you don't want "blood on your clothes!" Tha 2nd 1/2 of this verse here soundin' nice from Mr. R.I.P.P.E.R.! LOL @ his "ya betta do what Mouse say, and *imitates Mouse* WATCH MY SHOES!!" part at tha end of tha verse! Here's tha 2nd verse from Big Cheezy... soundin' REAL NICE wit that voice!! Sounds like he makin' a lotta people scared of him; that's watz good!! He lures a lotta fear and flinchin' in folks! Anotha verse here, and it's Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R.; great rappin' and GREAT voice!! Luv what he spittin' on this shit; str8 Baton Rouge style right here!! Glad there's even a beat outro on this too. My Rating: 4.7

½time: Well, in one more minute, it'll be 2:25 AM here on Long Island, NY, lol. Actually, it just turned it, so you KNOW it had ta be OFFICIAL Baton Rouge'd up!! For tha CD so far, it's off to a REAL GOOD start!!! I really luv how you flood tha CD wit buku features, and tha BEST producers from Baton Rouge (although Blu Black's missin', and Yung Yola in jail)!!! Hate ta see this be tha last one, but I guess you know what you're doin' when it comes to this business shit 'cause you REAL smart wit it! Average CD rating iz currently a NICE, WHOPPIN' 4.5!!

06. "You Don't Wanna" Feat. T-Lo & Young Ready
Startin' off tha 2nd 1/2 wit somethin' WAY TOO RAW!!!!! I swear, everytime I scroll down on tha tracklisting here, I feel REAL blessed, ya dig!! I feel like there's BUKU TREASURE when it comes to song titles, featured artists, and tha producers!!! A NICE 4:44 on tha length, so here comes nothin' but LUV from me!!! >>> Sounds like a betta Sims beat this time; how high will this rating be?!? T-Lo in tha beginning, and it REALLY BUMPED at :20 in!! Now, it's back to tha really loud soundin', and T-Lo doin' a REAL nice job on tha hook; just str8 FIYA!!! Went RIGHT into Domino on tha 1st verse!! Spittin' real shit from your heart on this shit; really like your attitude and style on this beat!! Uh oh, Young Ready 'bout ta REALLY GO OFF on tha 2nd verse!!! LOL, it T-Lo instead, who's "coo coo for Cocoa Puffs," lol! T-Lo's 2nd in tha features; I'm gonna flip him wit Ready 'cause Ready comes afta him. Either way, he did his thang on this shit right here; str8 Baton Rouge shit to tha fullest!! Now, here comes that Ready!!! "Specializes in homicide," so you KNOW it's TOO GANGSTA wit only SECONDS in!!! Tha hardest, most gangsta shit you can hear!!!!! No one iz MO GANGSTA than Ready!!!!! Glad he "sharpenin' up his aim" at tha "gun range;" can't get it ANY BETTA from him!!!!! MAJOR COLLABORATION RIGHT HERE!!!!! My Rating: 4.9

07. "Bring It On (Sports)" Feat. Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R. & Big Cheezy
Troy doin' tha beat this time, so it's a shift from tha typical people I know more... Only 3:12 on tha length, but y'all should tear this ma'fucka up!!! I like tha title, especially how "sports" iz in ()! >>> Sounds a lil' slow on tha BPM, but it's a HOT beat!! Although I'm not into sports, tha hook iz DEFINITELY on sum HOT shit!!! I think sports apply REAL, REAL GOOD into Rap music, ya dig!! Really feelin' your 1st verse here, Domino!! All those "defense" lines and football references are just tha shit!!! Tha best shit I heard from you on this CD so far!! That hook iz UNSTOPPABLE!!! Here we go wit tha 2nd verse, keepin' that consistent shit comin' from where you left off!! Despite this song's unknown audience outside BR, it should DEFINITELY be in a video game; consider it!! Here comes tha somewhat pre-ending wit all tha "stompin';" TIGHT-ASS SHIT!!! My Rating: 4.8

08. "Quit It"
LOL, you gon hold a WHOLE track down fa 4:08, Johnnie!! That's watz good 'cause you got Mouse on tha beat, so tha HATERZ'll DEFINITELY "quit it" when it comes ta seein' you by yourself on a song!! >>> Tha last song was real low on tha volume. Now, this one sounds like full blast, lol. Sounds like a different style in tha beginning, but iz catchy. His sample in tha beat sounds REAL catchy! You doin' ya thang on tha 1st verse, goin' tha gangsta side wit how much no one should fuck you over! Real nice 1st verse, and that hook iz DEFINITELY nice!! It has like a C-Loc feel in tha way it sounds, as well as tha lyrics! Here comes tha 2nd verse, and tha consistency continues! Interesting lyrics, especially tha "DNA" at 2:00! Glad you filterin' out fakes, "breakin' 'em down like fractions!" Anotha Domino verse here; 3x a charm! Yea, to anyone against you: "This battle you losin';" I feel you on that, big dawg! Real nice rappin' on tha last verse; you REALLY held this song down to tha fullest!!! Yea! Tha beat continues for tha last 21 seconds; luvin' it!!! My Rating: 4.6

09. "Comfortable" Feat. Tre Virdure
Tre doin' tha beat also on this... Not sure about that title for this CD... Hope you REALLY keep this consistent!!! >>> Well, not much into tha intro. Maybe you should've hired more featured artists? Soundin' different for tha 1st verse. Good lyrics from you on this. Tha hook ain't that bad, although this style iz not me. Here comes you on tha 2nd verse, and I'm likin' how you sound on it. More interestin' lyrics, so that's a plus. Anotha verse from you here, so that's a plus. I like your "lottery was tha closest I've been to a millionaire" part; you WERE lucky on tickets? Tha most I won was $500 last year on a $20 scratch-off, but I've been real lucky findin' winners, ya dig! Nice job on tha 3rd verse, and after all, this iz listenable for me. I was afraid it was not gonna get tha 4.0 rating from me (which would've caused this CD ta not get an automatic 5* rating). But, tha hook sounded better wit tha way you were rappin' to this, so I give this a plus. It feels nice and relaxin'. My Rating: 4.0

10. "You Ain't On" Feat. Box
A 2006 song that was neva seen before (not that I know of)! You produced it yourself, so I'm curious to see how this sounds!! BTW, it's quite ironic that it 2006 'cause tha last review I just did was Jay Regal's 2006 "Mixtape Murda Vol. 1" mixtape, lol! >>> Nice length of 4:47, and tha beat sounds kinda plain for a start; not much goin' on. I like your "one-hit wonder" part; LOL @ tha Joe Budden reference! Pretty good lyrics in tha 1st verse. Now, tha verse, and tha plain beat changes up wit tha title, which sounds REAL catchy in tha hook; great shit! Here comes that boy Box on tha 2nd verse! "Ya flow iz unplugged, that's why you ain't on;" REAL TIGHT part!!! Nice job from him deliverin' a nice verse on this shit! It's back ta you, Domino, on tha 3rd verse here, and it's soundin' good still. I like tha "attitude without P. Diddy, you just a bad boy" part too; that's your catchy part in your verse! Pretty good song right here. My Rating: 4.1

11. "From The Lou To The Boot" Feat. Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R., Big Cheezy & Hard
Tha retirin' Johnnie Domino song...!!! This iz your sign-off, and at 3:01 AM, you will be pronounced retired from doin' albums (but will still do features and shit). Let's see how GREAT it sounds for a Sims beat!!! >>> Anotha REAL NICE Sims start here!! I ALWAYS get excited for these Sims beats; they tha SHIT at ALL TIMES!!! Yea, you sound catchy on tha 1st 1/2 of tha hook wit how it iz stayin' strong! Tha 2nd 1/2 of tha hook (repeatin' tha title) was REAL catchy; tight-ass shit!! You're on tha 1st verse, and tha rhymes are catchy and great here! Here comes Spaide on tha 2nd verse, doin' his thang on this TIGHT shit!! I luv tha "225/sell it for tha too-too high" part a WHOLE LOT!! REALLY came out REAL, REAL GREAT!!!!! Here's tha next dude (Hard) on tha 3rd verse! Really likin' tha fast rappin' towards tha end of tha 1st 1/2 of tha 3rd verse! Ooh, tha 2nd 1/2 of tha 3rd verse from (I think) St. Louis representative Big Cheezy soundin' REAL nice!! He ALWAYS comin' through raw, and it's REAL great fa this shit!! Real great song to end this CD off! My Rating: 4.6

Overall: Well, it's over, and I'm sadly goin' ta sleep! At 3:01 AM, that was tha latest I've eva ended a review, so thumbs up to that boy Johnnie Domino!!! You have a classic right here!!! Glad you keep in touch wit me at times, and you KNOW I'ma hold you, S.B.R., Jay Regal, Raw Ha Records, and tha WHOLE Baton Rouge down, ya dig!!! Even if you don't continue ta do albums, because of your HUGE-ASS list of features and producers, you should try and make a compilation album consistin' of most of tha featured people on here, as well as othas from Baton Rouge (like Beat Flippa did)!!

Review #253: The Original Maverick "The Book Of M.A.V. Mixtape Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 7.02.2009 (Review #253)

Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog in tha buildin' here. 'Bout ta get into my next review. Finna go back ta 2007 wit this one. Props to Johnnie Domino and his 2007 "Album Rejects Vol. 1" 'cause it made me discover this one from Maverick! Here goes my review fa The Original Maverick "The Book Of M.A.V. Mixtape Vol. 1"! Start Time: 11:01 AM | End Time: 12:45 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. "Pirate Intro"
Lookin' forward ta this...! >>> I'm likin' this beat intro; you sound cool right nah on this intro. Whateva's goin' on in this intro iz good I guess. I feel like this intro iz so long fa only 3:05... LOL, what's that singin' around 2:13? LOL... Nice job there. Now that tha intro iz done, let's FINALLY see what we got on this mixtape! My Rating: N/A

02. "Take It To The Top"
This looks like it gon be a good joint. Ta start it off wit yo music, let's see what we got! >>> Pretty good start. When you said tha title, it sounded like Young Ready. Tha 1st verse here iz soundin' good. I like tha "you can't see tha blunts that I'm puffin' too" part. Nice "my hood iz my Playstation" part also; you doin' yo thang wit these rhymes! I'm listenin' ta every lyric you spittin' here, and each one iz catchy fa me! Tha hook after tha 1st verse must've been tha full hook; it sounded much betta than in tha beginning! Tha 2nd verse on this shit iz soundin' great also! Although a betta 1st verse, I enjoyin' yo shit right nah. Tha 3rd verse iz doin' a pretty nice job too; LOL @ tha nice "magical pimpin'." That verse wasn't that long, but glad you had a 3rd verse on this shit. Nice hook at tha end of tha 3rd verse as it repeated. My Rating: 4.4

03. "Family Ties"
Almost 2 minutes shorter than tha last song... Hope you make this one catchy! >>> Not catchy fa me for tha start. After a few seconds, this ain't a song fa me. I'll give it a lyrical rating due to it not bein' my style. I'm not a fan of this beat, and this iz usually tha type of song I see towards tha end of a mixtape; even in tha middle. However, this bein' #3 on here? Too soon... I didn't really follow tha lyrics that much. They're not my style, so I don't know exactly what went on. At least you did yo thang, lyrically. Lyrical Rating: 4.3 | My Rating: 2.8

04. "Fuck G.W. Bush"
LOL... Let's see your anger on this one, lol. >>> I like this beat style right chea. You have some nice, different beats goin' on here on this mixtape! Young Readyish soundin' on tha 1st verse right chea! Pretty good 1st verse, and tha hook sounds pretty good too; self-explained. Tha 2nd verse iz good too. I hear a lotta paranoidness in tha "livin' experiences" in tha 2nd verse, so thumbs up on tellin' me about tha "livin' experiences." Good job on that short, 3rd verse too, explainin' George Bush's bad sides when someone's "slowly dyin'/callin' for help." Glad he ain't our president anymore. My Rating: 4.2

05. "Louisiana G's"
I like that title (especially wit "Louisiana" in it)! 5:36 on tha length... Hope it's entertaining!! >>> I'm anticipatin' it as you're sayin' "Jigga City, new shit, get money!" Great start to tha 1st verse, and tha beat here iz grimy! Young Ready style in tha voice and tha 1st verse here! Tha hook iz REAL TIGHT here! It sounds like T-Bo nearly copied tha "I'm on fiya!!" part on one of his first songs on his latest CD, "Dat White Dude" that dropped Late 2008. You REALLY doin' yo thang on this hook right here; STR8 FIYA!!! Louisiana to tha fullest!! Here goes tha 2nd verse here! I like that "slangin' shit as tha same color as my fuckin' white tees" line; GREAT shit!! Definitely held it down on that 2nd verse! I really like that "boot up gangsta" part after tha hook. Ooh, continuin' more shit after that "boot up gangsta" part wit tha "Jigga City, new shit, get money" part again! Now, here we go wit tha 3rd verse! Yea, "Baton Rouge finest." GREAT "that's why they mean mug wit a sour look on they face" part also (which was right before tha "Baton Rouge finest" part)!! Great job here... A 30 second fade-out outro? Neva mind, it was only 20 seconds 'cause tha last 10 were silence. My Rating: 4.9

06. "In Dis Bitch"
That title always reminds me of tha Savage song that dropped Late '07/Early '08. Lookin' forward to your take on this title! >>> Yea, anotha GREAT intro, "brought to you by Baton Rouge, Louisiana!" Not bad beat here, as it at least has that BR attribute in it! Great job on tha 1st verse, and LOL @ tha hook havin' 0% of an attitude, lol! Feelin' tha hood lyrics (wit all tha "blood," "crip," and "blacks" type of people) in tha 2nd verse, as well as tha "pants saggin'" part. Yea, "fuck tha cops" when it comes to tha people you (and I) support! Tha 3rd verse iz soundin' GREAT, sports style, wit tha "basketball" part, tha "defense" part, and tha "ball wit me" part too. Great job wit dem verses!! My Rating: 4.3

07. "Blow My Mind"
I wonder what you gon deliver on this joint? >>> A song fa tha females here, and tha hook sounds pretty catchy. Doesn't sound like typical/recent music out now/2007 wise. I like tha lil' beat here too. Tha 1st verse iz soundin' good too fa tha females. I like tha "stick of dynamite... BOOM!" part, lol. You a "head giva," lol. You "give head back 69 different wayz," lol; nice. Tha 2nd verse was pretty good too on this. My Rating: 4.0

08. "Given A Mill"
I wonder about this one too; how good will it be? >>> A question: "Given a million dollaz, what chu gon do?" If that was me, I would give a lotta it to my family, myself, and my peeps in Louisiana; DEFINITELY need ta help my peeps out, ESPECIALLY my boy Blu Black! Tha hook iz good, and tha 1st verse iz pretty good too fa tha title/topic. Tha vibe of this song reminds me of C-Loc right now. Nice rappin' style on tha 2nd verse too! Almost like a Max Minelli type of sound in tha voice wit tha "uh, uh, yea, I got it, I got it" towards tha near-end. Only 2 verses here? I thought there would be a 3rd one, but it all good. Nice ending wit tha "I got it, and I'm out!" My Rating: 4.1

½time: Definitely sum great shit right here!! I had a good feelin' about this CD after I reviewed Johnnie Domino's! Shout out to tha producers on here too, doin' they thang! I hope tha rest of this CD remains good! Average CD rating iz currently 4.1.

09. "I Want It All"
Err-body wants that, especially in tha Rap game. However, when you roll wit me, you get A LOT CLOSER to that!! >>> Sounds like a GREAT beat intro; luv these beats!! Young Ready style again in tha beginning! Unlike tha "In Dis Bitch" hook, this hook HAS an attitude, and it sounds GREAT fa tha track!! Lookin' forward to tha verses!! You did yo thang on tha 1st verse, deliverin' dat real shit! LOL @ tha "get greedy wit it;" I thought you was gon say, "get jiggy wit it," lol. As fa me, I ain't EVA "greedy" wit money; ONLY wit respect/loyalty! I have $504 right now, and it gon last a whole 1/2 year. Nice job wit tha 2nd verse too on this shit. No 3rd verse, but a repeat of tha hook. It all good 'cause it ain't just tha beat goin' out. Glad you have an 18 second beat outro (minus 7 seconds of silence). My Rating: 4.7

10. "N.O.R."
What's tha "R" and what do those letters stand for? Lemme find out... >>> Again, anotha interesting beat intro! You a lil' like Kevin Gates on this wit tha way you sound a lil'... So, tha title means "Nigga On tha Run?" Interesting. Sounds like a good 1st verse; I like that "taco" part, lol. Tha 2nd verse iz soundin' great too; likin' those Jigga City type lyrics wit tha "we retarded" and shit like that. Glad you said your state name in tha verse too. My Rating: 4.3

11. "Too Hot"
Anotha "BOILIN' HOT" joint?! >>> I KNEW it by tha title that there would be some STR8 FIYA goin' on here again!! It sounds like a REAL anticipatin' beat intro!! Yea, tha Young Ready type voice goin' on here in tha 1st verse/hook; did y'all grow up in tha same hood? Great job on tha 1st verse right there. A REAL GREAT start to tha 2nd verse wit "take a bite outta crime, but I ate tha whole plate. Now, I'm burpin' up rhymes...;" REAL TIGHT shit!!! Tha rest of tha 2nd verse was GREAT, and tha last hook had a NICE cold ending too! My Rating: 4.8

12. "Pirate Walk"
Nearly 5 minutes long... Hope it's gangsta, and not gay like Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's "Bird Walk"! >>> Anotha GREAT, creepin' up beat intro. Yuck, why you mentionin' "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" and shit like that? Iz this gon be a gay dance? Not tha worst hook, so I won't really criticize it. Decent 1st verse; don't know what ta say... Sounds like a different dude on tha 2nd verse? Not sourced of who it iz... He sounds gay wit his lyrics wit that "I betcha can't do it like me;" bad verse. Tha rest of it I can't really handle, so it's soundin' pretty bad... Anotha minute left? My Rating: 2.2

13. "Pop, Drop & Roll"
Again? >>> This sounds betta; LOL @ tha hook!! Sounds REAL GREAT wit that beat and tha way you sound on it!! I dunno about tha 1st verse... Nothin' exactly surprisin' me, although it's decent for tha females. I like tha "shake it like a dog wit fleas" part in tha 2nd verse; LMAO! My Rating: 4.3

14. "Not Your Superman"
What could this song be about? >>> Anotha one of those pretty good beats; this one iz a lil' slower. I don't know what ta say... Nothin' wrong wit this song, although nothin' I can say. A nice, random song here though. My Rating: 3.7

15. "Street Life"
Maybe I'll have somethin' ta say now, lol. I like that title, and you KNOW I wanna hear about tha "street life" in Baton Rouge!! >>> Pretty nice beat here; finally, tha 1st verse at :41. Good job on tha 1st verse, and that hook iz definitely hot; good shit! Glad you "'bout yo salary" on tha 2nd verse, includin' that Young Ready type of voice! Great joint right here wit a nice mix of lyrics, content, and that beat! My Rating: 4.4

16. "Ride"
Don't know what ta expect exactly... >>> I guess this iz one of those cool songs, car swag style, lol. Pretty nice beat fa you, and tha 1st verse iz car-showin' off style, lol. Nice job on tha 1st verse. Tha hook has like a C-Loc feel in tha voice also. Tha 2nd verse didn't front also, so thumbs up. Let's see what you got fa tha 3rd verse... Pretty good also. My Rating: 4.2

17. "Pirate Outro"
I wonder how this outro gon sound compared to tha intro, which was a lil' ova a minute longer... >>> Nice "book" by tha way, lol. Lookin' forward to tha 2nd volume, and I'm glad you "took me around tha hood" wit this mixtape. Tha beat was better in tha intro, but it's aight for tha outro here. I'm glad you said, "Gardere;" shout out to dat lane a.k.a. G-Lane! Yea, I like your "smoke to dis right chea... yea... like that" lil' part before it ended! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Was this better than Johnnie Domino's? I don't know... I gotta see tha statistics when I'm done checkin' yours. Anyway, just like his, your mixtape was just FIYA!! Definitely was feelin' most of these jointz right chea! You REALLY did yo thang, and I really hope you like this review, ya dig! Keep doin' yo thang; BR all day, err-day in my heart!!

^ It's a tie wit tha average CD rating, lol. Well, there were 2 songs not for me on this CD, although there were 2 not for me on Johnnie's (but were rated a lil' higher). Both CDs had 3 MINDBLOWIN' jointz (4.6 or higher ratings). But, wit deeper statistics, his CD was slightly better, havin' 4.13 (rounded down to 4.1), while yours had 4.08, rounded up to 4.1).

Review #245: Johnnie Domino "Album Rejects Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 6.26.2009 (Review #245)

FrankieThaLuckyDog here... Just have ta say: R.I.P. Michael Jackson! I know his death was worldwide and shit, but overall, Nu$$ie's death was tha worst death I've dealt wit in tha music business 'cause I was actually cool wit his peoples and shit. Anyway, 'bout ta go into my next review (tha 1st one today). Here's my review fa Johnnie Domino "Album Rejects Vol. 1"! Start Time: 12:59 PM | End Time: 2:26 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!

01. Intro
Time to start thangz off here; what to expect in tha intro? >>> Soundin' like I'm gettin' drawn into it; I like how you said "dawg." Oh, shit! You gave a shout out to my big dawg Sims and Go Get It Music!!! Holy shit, that's watz good!! And this was like an '07 mixtape (if I'm not mistaken)! I'm GLAD y'all cool wit each otha! He made tha start of my day today by writing back ta me on MySpace. If you cool wit Sims, then I'm REALLY lookin' forward to this mixtape!! My Rating: N/A

02. "Shine'in' Without A Diamond" Feat. T-Lo
Looks like I'll look forward ta Nasty Nate on tha beat, as well as T-Lo bein' featured on it (tha features are gonna have me REAL anticipated)! Should be some HOT SHIT right chea!! >>> Sounds like tha clappin' iz a lil' off in tha beginning... Pretty good beat/expectin' it ta grow on me. T-Lo had an okay intro; glad he introduced you into tha song. Sounds like you're off to a pretty nice start here on tha 1st verse. T-Lo sounds good on tha hook; nice hook. Your 2nd verse here iz soundin' on tha "fresh" type here wit tha "$160 polo;" that a lot for a polo. I usually pay $15 fa my polos. Nice 2nd verse, and yea, that hook iz nice from T-Lo. You on tha 3rd verse here, continuin' tha "fresh" shit here. Good job on tha 3rd verse, and nice song overall. My Rating: 3.9

03. "Messmakers" Feat. Backdraft & Maverick
Ooh, Sims on tha beat!!! Holy shit, you KNOW this gon be a high anticipated one fa me!! And 2 new featured artists too, so that's DEFINITELY watz good!! >>> Yea, this beat iz MUCH BETTA!!! It's like a dose of 100% Baton Rouge right here!! Off to a REAL great start wit tha "keep mah name out cha mouth!" Now, tha 1st verse here, doin' a nice job wit tha beat contributin' to tha great 1st verse. Great job on tha 1st verse, and that hook iz just catchy as hell; nice title! Nice start to this 2nd verse here wit that female! Ooh, tha "Mary Jane/like you smokin' reefa" part was nice! She did a betta job than you on her verse, so thumbs up to her fa deliverin' some hot shit!! Nice start to tha 3rd verse wit tha "99 wayz ta die" part; reminds me of Yung Yola's 99 Wayz 2 Grind Entertainment label (G-Lane!!). Sounds like a gangsta verse wit tha "gunplay" type lyrics; anotha GREAT verse here (2nd best on this track)! Sims a FOOL wit it! I accidently spelled Sims name wit 2 m's in my Young Ready commercial, but since you spelled his name wit 2 m's here, I shouldn't feel too bad for my error (although I think his name iz really wit 1 m). My Rating: 4.5

04. "How They Want It?" Feat. Bobby T & Big Head
Mouse On Tha Track on tha track here... Actually, it's funny wit this song 'cause wit every CD I review (excluding tha ones in my marathon), I add a file to my iTunes called "Tracks From *insert CD name*". When I was entering your name as tha artist, it came up wit these featured rappers, and I was like, "I heard a song by Johnnie Domino?" So, I did my research, and this song came up in my iTunes when I added it to my iTunes (after I reviewed "Pyrex Radio Vol. 3: On Tha Muscle"). I checked tha rating I gave it, and it was 4.4. After seein' that, I KNEW there was luck in you!! And because I reviewed it back in February 2008, I'm gonna re-review it now due to back then, I didn't really say anything about every single verse in tha song. So, here goes my anticipating re-hearin' of this song! >>> Sounds like a Young Ready voice in tha beginning BTW. I can hear tha simple hook now (tha 1st time I reviewed it, I said tha hook was real simple). Here comes that 1st verse from you, soundin' great, and better than before! Knowin' that you fuck wit all these people (Mouse, Sims, Big Head, etc.) makes it a BIG pleasure that you discovered me and hit me up; it means a lot!! Nice 1st verse, especially wit tha "tail" part. Oh, re-hearin' tha hook again (wit added lyrics) and I remember it!! Rememba playin' it on my iPod on shuffle (I rememba that "my nuts on tha curb too" part that I liked); REAL nice hook!! Tha 2nd verse here iz soundin' good; diagnosed wit Baton Rouge elements BIG TIME!! Great job on tha 2nd verse from Bobby T right there; you KNOW I can't get enough of this shit! Big Head on tha 3rd verse here, and soundin' great (as always)! Lookin' forward to his new CD, and I'm just feelin' his verse, so you KNOW it's A+ on tha track right here! Nice Mouse ending on tha beat! Much better review here vs. tha 1st time when I only said (including tha preview): I think I only heard of Big Head. Iz this gon be a Louisiana song? >>> Real simple hook in tha beginning… Oh yeah gotta give props to my dawg Jimmy The DJ for sendin' me this mixtape ["Pyrex Radio Vol. 3: On Tha Muscle"] as well. Major props on that! I seem to be really likin' this joint even tho it's too simple. Okay I really like tha hook now. Seems like it's catchin' on real good right now! Great collabo and verses! Prolly tha best "comeback" review for a song from tha beginning of tha song to tha end! My Current Rating: 4.6

05. "Get 'Em" Feat. Hopeless
Luvin' these FUCKIN' 4:30+ lengths, and these producers/unknown featured artists!!! B-Real on tha track, so here comes my heart poundin' wit luv for tha track!! >>> Ooh, a phone call in tha beginning; likin' it! Ooh, RAW hook here; fuckin' luvin' it!! Off to a REAL NICE start here; might be tha best song on here so far!! Feelin' your fuckin' flow on this shit right here wit those great lyrics!! Just fuckin' luvin' this; you tha shit, ESPECIALLY wit who you fuck wit!!! Yea, "everything you do, nigga, you use yo brain;" I SO FUCKIN' AGREE!!! FUCKIN' LUVIN' THA HOOK; YOU THA SHIT!!! Ooh, Hopeless came in STRONG; like how he said "brah" outta nowhere. He got a LOTTA shit goin' on here wit a GREAT Baton Rouge voice!! Ooh, like tha "cut ya...burn ya to tha 3rd degree" part; he REALLY doin' tha damn thang!!! Ooh, "a vicious nigga thuggin';" HOW FUCKIN' TIGHT!!! You on tha 3rd verse here, and it's soundin' GREAT! I like tha dayz of tha week in this verse here; nice weekly update, lol. Great 3rd verse, and no less ending it wit "I do homework." I feel like these reviewz are my homework right now, spendin' 1.5 - 2.5 hours doin' a review. Luvin' tha beat outro from B-Real, anotha real dude on this shit!! My Rating: 4.9

06. (Skit) Young Trelly Of Pyrex Radio
Ooh, nice length on tha skit (2:30 around)! He used to annoy me on "Pyrex Radio Vol. 5: Back To The Money", but I'm curious to hear what he gotta say on yo CD!! >>> LOL @ tha clappin' in tha audience. Yea, shout out ta you (Johnnie Domino). He's soundin' good on this shit, and he mentioned your "How They Want It" song just like I did, lol. Trelly's a lot more interesting here than annoying; you KNOW I luv tha "ya heard me"s and shit like that. SMH @ him sayin' "no homo;" I refuse ta say that, especially wit my Autism reflectin' how I feel about shit! And speakin' of that "So Sick Of Jigg Songs" song, you made it? IDK about bein' sick of jigg songs, but as long as it's not brought out there in a noticable way; then, it's cool. IDK what's goin' through my mind right nah; I'll just continue tha review on tha CD. Nice skit from Trelly!! My Rating: N/A

07. "So Sick Of Jigg Songs (Jigg Song Diss)"
JYNXED; NO!!!!! Well, I'm guessin' this ain't over tha "So Sick" beat ('cause it says "Produced by: Major League Productions"). And OMG, it nearly 4:40 on tha length too! IDK what else ta say...; I'm speechless! >>> Good thing tha beat changed at nearly :11. Tha beat iz great, but IDK what ta expect wit tha "diss"... I like tha "jiggalate/duplicate" part. I don't mind any of tha jiggalatin' music, but I guess it hit you in some way. Sorry, tha hook ain't fa me; I disagree, lol! You may say "jigg songs sound tha same," but if you think about it, some of tha shitty Pop/R&B Dance remixes that are made now sound EXACTLY tha same on every remix (e.g., a Moto Blanco remix) and DOMINATE tha Dance/Trance music scene in a BAD way; that's where it sounds boring! Jigg songs? They ALWAYS spark interest ta me! You said "Jigga Juice" in this; was that song out back in '07? Maybe, in your hands, we'll keep tha whole "jiggalatin'" movement in tha undaground, and let tha otha types of BR music sounds go a lil' bigger in tha mainstream. Either way, eva since I started luvin' Louisiana music, it was neva goin' Pop anymore, or barely hittin' tha mainstream Rap areas. I will support Louisiana (especially Baton Rouge) music to tha fullest!!! Wow, tha remainin' minute of tha song got REAL cheesy... I didn't like tha "ladies, break it down, break it down" part (and there bein' no ladies no less) as well as that bad ending (last 15 seconds) of tha singin' of w/e it was... Not my kinda song, but thanx for gettin' a message across. I neva want tha whole "jigg" movement ta eva end. It can be undaground fa'eva. As long as I hear a lil' bit of jigg, a lil' bit of gangsta, a lil' bit of BR slang, and a lil' bit of smokin' weed from Baton Rouge, I'm good! My Rating: 3.2
^ Tha beat and just how you broke tha whole reasons why you ain't like tha "jiggin'" movement kept my rating from goin' under 3.0.

½time: Anotha SURPRISIN' mixtape right here, as you're just DOIN' THA DAMN THANG here!!! Tha producers you're hookin' up wit (as well as tha new featured artists) iz REALLY turnin' me on wit this mixtape right chea! I guess after that "Jigg Diss", you can kinda keep jiggin' on tha low from now on wit your Raps. DEFINITELY FIYA production and GREAT songs you're comin' up wit; MAJOR, MAJOR PROPS from ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog!! Average CD rating iz currently 4.2!

08. "Groove Wit You" Feat. Box
Not sure of anticipation fa that title/nearly 4:30 on tha length... Q-Red on tha track though, so we'll see how this goes! >>> Not tha kinda Q-Red beat I'd hear; bad beat intro... Hope this wasn't influenced from Plies & T-Pain's "Shawty" now... Gonna hear your 1st verse right nah, and it's soundin' pretty good wit tha lyrics. I always dislike when there's random female vocal samples in beats (especially wit HIGH-ASS pitches). Chipmunk voice in tha hook, lol? It ain't that bad... Let's see what Box has ta offer... I like tha rhymes on this verse here. There were better rhymes in tha 2nd verse here. Now, tha 3rd verse from you here... It sounded like Box blended in wit your voice; it was nearly hard ta tell who was who. Nice "research on tha lady." Not bad/passed my test. I can't really say, "Q-Red, good job, man," 'cause somebody else could've been known for producin' that beat. Not sure of seein' Q-Red bein' a lil' versitile; I like my producers known for a certain sound, not an alteration. My Rating: 3.4

09. Chirp Abuse Skit
Oh, shit! About 3:00 on tha length, and it's a skit from you; I'm SO fuckin' ready ta hear this!!! >>> Sounds like a chipmunk again, this time on tha phone, lol. Ooh, you said, "shit chea;" that's one of my favorite Baton Rouge sayin's (since it's original); always reminds me of G-Lane 'cause all my G-Lane peeps say that. I wonder who's on tha phone fa you... Oh no, it sounds like that chipmunk again... LOL. I can't believe that Dr. Landcaster person put you off for a month! How shitty! People do that ta me, only longer; I call them "fake" when they do that ta me, and I don't wanna deal wit 'em anymore (that's people who I'm tryna help and shit; they can't even get me their shit! How pathetic)! Your anger at tha end sounded like my dad and brother! My Rating: N/A

10. "Chirp Abuse" Feat. Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R.
Ooh, it's a song too? Oh, shit! I nearly shit my pants when I saw Sims on tha beat!!! Holy shit, time ta be embraced fa this!!!!! >>> "156 new text messages;" wow... Either a luv or hate here; sounds too much like "Laffy Taffy" in tha beat. Why tha snapping? Interesting hook though. Tha 1st verse here from you iz soundin' like it's gonna have that interesting flow just like in tha "So Sick Of Jigg Songs". Great job on tha 1st verse. Let's see tha 2nd verse... LOL @ tha "MySpace" ad-lib on tha 1st line; sounded outta nowhere, lol. I like that "100 words a minute." I don't text that fast, but I type 94-95 WORDS a minute; I a BEAST at that, and on one lesson in class, I typed 103 WORDS a minute!! Nice job on tha 2nd verse; maybe I can deal wit this. I can't say it's not Sims 'cause tha beat iz dark overall. Oh, here's that Spaide Ripper dude on tha 3rd verse... Like that voice. He did a great job wit his verse, especially in his voice. Not that bad of a song; I can deal wit it. I betta hear anotha Sims production though 'cause this ain't how I want tha Sims productions ta end on this CD! My Rating: 3.7

11. "Hard Wit His Boys" Feat. Young Ready & T-Lo
Oh, shit!! I wanted anotha Sims production before tha CD ended, and it's here already!!! HOLY SHIT!!! I luv that boy Sims and his music, ya dig; he tha shit!! And you even got Ready on this bitch, so HOPEFULLY an AUTOMATIC 4.6+ rating!!! >>> Interesting start wit tha "3 gangstaz and 6 pussy niggaz." Now, this has a MUCH betta beat intro!! Sounds kinda quiet on my speakers, but as long as there's a sound, then that's ALL that matters!! Great job on tha true hook, and wow, what a FUCKIN' GREAT START to tha 1st verse wit you, goin' "Domino, muthaFUCKA!!" Real NICE job on tha 1st verse; makes me wanna hear more from you on this CD! T-Lo sounds like Juvenile on tha hook, lol. Ooh, Ready's on tha 2nd verse!! Of course, he "got tha recipe!" Feelin' his verse here, always deliverin' that shit! Yea, "80's baby;" 1988 right chea! Wow, hearin' tha hook again, and it sounds REAL TRUE wit tha "by yoself, you don't make no noise" part, and that's true when it comes ta people I used ta deal wit at college. They would be hard (and always) wit their boyz, but when tryna talk ta me online/on tha phone, bullshit! T-Lo doin' a nice job on tha 3rd verse, jiggin' a lil' wit tha "them chewies made me do it;" nice job! Definitely feelin' that Sims got on anotha track wit you here. I said it befo and I'ma say it again: HE THA SHIT!!! My Rating: 4.7

12. "Shut Up" Feat. Maverick & Bobby T
Just like tha last song (which I didn't mention), this song ALSO has a length 4:30+!!! You LUV havin' these LONG-ASS songs on here, which makes me ENJOY tha songs more!!! 2 Saint on tha beat here, so let's see how this one turns out ta be; I have a good feelin'... >>> Sounds like a pretty nice beat and a good start to tha 1st verse wit you and your "tactic" part. Good job on tha 1st verse, and tha hook sounds real hot. I KNEW that tha "shut up" part was gonna sound a lil' funny wit tha way it sounded, and it sounds good too. Here comes tha 2nd verse here, soundin' REAL NICE to a start! Luv tha voice here, just STR8 UP BR attributes in tha style!! When I listen ta music, ESPECIALLY new artists, knowin' that people are from BR iz such a FUCKIN' BLE$$IN'!! Definitely a great verse there; liked tha "Playstation" line. Lookin' forward to tha 3rd verse!! Tha 3rd verse iz soundin' great, nearly like tha 2nd verse! Wow, it got gangsta towards tha 3:10 area around!! Tha "blood" and shit was nice; he did his thang on this shit! Interesting lil' conversation part before tha hook again. My Rating: 4.3

13. "Chirp Abuse (Radio)" Feat. Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R.
LOL, no wonder why "dirty" was in "()" before... I thought that was random. Glad you have tha radio edit on here just in case I can use it for my radio shift at my college (maybe) coming Fall 2009! I'm HOPIN' to make it happen 'cause I need audio Practicum hours for my Practicum schedule! I'm tryna have an underground Louisiana radio shift at my college next semester. Hope it works out 'cause those audio Practicum hours are a bitch when I ain't doin' a radio shift! See #10 fa tha review!

14. "How They Want It (Radio)" Feat. Bobby T & Big Head
LOL, anotha one? Glad ta have tha radio edit; collectin' radio edits fa my radio shift (can only play clean versions unfortunately on there)! See #4 fa tha review!

Overall: LOL, it almost ended at 2:25 PM; just a minute off (2:26 PM). Anyway, DEFINITELY sum TIGHT SHIT here!!! I'm SO FUCKIN' glad ta see Sims on here 3 WHOPPING times, as well as appearances from Q-Red, B-Real, Mouse; dem names I be namin' when it comes ta producers I luv! Baton Rouge be tha shit!!! This CD qualified ta be on my iPod 'cause it was just SO GOOD, and I'm REAL GLAD I got ta hear this (finally) from you!!! Thanx again fa hittin' me up for me ta do tha review!!
