Review #1,486: K-Chill "Durty Muzik"

Reviewed on 12.16.2015 (Review #1,486)

Keepin’ these reviewz goin’ while tha consistency of my unexpected, stressful dayz continues, smh! Up next iz K-Chill Durty Muzik, sponsored by Gorillaville Records. Seems like an anticipating review, right? Well, I’m taken back by tha fact that I asked K-Chill for a hard copy of this disc, and, of course, I was told I was gettin’ one, and never did. See, in 2012, before I even knew tha discs were out, I would be gettin’ them in tha mail. Now, it’s like, what happened? I don’t even feel special, anymore! But, I can see a reason why I didn’t get a hard copy: Tha total time length of tha disc’s 1:21:26? You can’t put that on a CD! Plus, didn’t K-Chill tell me once before that two-verse songs were tha way to go? How are two-verse songs seven minutes? Eight minutes? Lookin’ at tha lengths and 3:00 iz tha shortest, followed by 4:36 as tha second-shortest! I’ono, but let’s just get this over with! Start Time: 4:43 PM | End Time: 5:50 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2015 CD Review (Review #1,486) reviewed on 12.16.2015 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Drank In The Back Of The Ride”
Nice title, produced by you… >>> Lookin’ at my editing program and it says that this iz only 2:21? Not sure why they’re all comin’ up screwed up in my iTunes, but this sounds pretty nice! Like I said, I may be disappointed that I ain’t get this fast enough (which, because of that, I ain’t get to this right away! You already know my schedules)! But, I really love how this beat sounds with this southern vibe, includin’ how you sound on tha hook! Really diggin’ tha fucked-upness of tha “drank,” includin’ this “ride!” Oh, definitely pure quality, here! Definitely diggin’ how tha verses are short and shit! Definitely nice! Might even add this to my playlist, if my dayz get better? I mean, I’m sufferin’ from depression right now, but who knows, 2016’s almost here!! My Rating: 4.9

02. “Appreciate” feat. E-Ski
This one’s produced by Solo… >>> Nice, smooth beat start, here; definitely feelin’ it! It sounds like some nice lil’ G-Funk shit from tha ‘90s (tha vibe, not really tha sounds)… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m diggin’ how it’s about gettin’ fucked up on “so many nights;” I feel that! Ugh, can NY come any quicker? Fuckin’ hate how it’s 30 dayz away; WTF?! Can’t get fucked up in PA in a quality way ‘cause of how no one’s around or doesn’t stay up, smh! Here you are on tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ good ta hear; gotta feel what you bringin’ to tha table! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and I already know how that feels when, “They only call when they need ya!” Exactly how I feel about this fuckin’ bitch I cared about, this year! In 2013, I bought DJ B-Real his stolen equipment; in 2015, I bought this bitch I cared about up here a fuckin’ used car! Did all that, bailed her brother outta jail and shit, and now, I had to block her today! Just a bunch of bullshit ‘cause she’d tease me about hangin’ and shmokin’! Like, it’s BAD when you tease me about goin’ to hang out and shmoke! No way does that shit fly in NY!! We shmoke all day, every day in NY, not this garbage teasin’ in PA!! And yeah, I think all tha lengths of tha songs are half of what they show in iTunes, oddly! And, as soon as tha last two seconds come up, tha length jumps to tha last two seconds, lol? Weird… My Rating: 4.7

03. “Money Rite”
I’ll prolly like this, but I’ll pass on it, altogether…; produced by you… It’s like, why a title like this when I’ve neva made a dolla off of you, yet, outta tha five years we’ve been connected?! >>> Yeah, this sounds jammin’, even though I don’t fuck wit “money” songs; still a quality-soundin’ one, though! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice! Wow, tha day I go to NY, you’ll turn 40! Can’t believe you up there like that, but it’s ‘cause you an undaground king! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, here, doin’ tha damn thang! Tha 2nd verse sounds great, too; definitely diggin’ tha shorter-soundin’ verses! My Rating: 4.6

04. “Knock Sumthin’ Out”
Produced by you… >>> Oh, just luvin’ these beats!! You know that when I come out with my 3rd album about traveling, I’m gonna have y’all produce it! I definitely gotta get your touch on it!! Really-catchy hook, here; definitely feelin’ all tha energy!! Luv how customers say to me, “I want whatever you’re on!!,” in tha morning! All it iz iz energetic music and lovin’ my job! Definitely feelin’ tha 1st verse; you got this shit on lock!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, so far; good shit! Unstoppable energy!! My Rating: 4.8

05. “Show No Luv” feat. E-Ski
Anotha Solo production… >>> Kinda has a ‘90s vibe to it with E-Ski singin’ on tha hook… I’m diggin’ this slow vibe; nice lil’ hook… Let’s see how you gon bring it on tha 1st verse… Sounds pretty good; can’t complain… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it ain’t bad; just slowly rides by… “I don’t wanna smoke ya weed;” I feel like that with that bitch I dealt with! Earlier, this summer, I compared her weed to one of my other connects and my other connect’s really crushed hers! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Durty South” feat. D.Fall & Big Duke
Tha D.Fall from tha ‘90s with tha Let’s Ride disc? Are they tha same? Hmm… I don’t know much on that dude, but this one’s produced by Big Duke. Gonna eat a lil’ grub, right quick; BRB… >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ vibe… Tha hook sounds pretty nice, here, strictly fa tha “durty south.” And, hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it’s nice; always sounds like any time zone (‘90s, ‘00s)! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s D.Fall? Lookin’ at my radio edit I have of him online and I have his location as Lafayette; could it be? Luv how he said, “I used to not smoke, but I smoke every day;” I feel that!! And, he mentioned, “Lafayette,” so it could be tha same dude! Nice lil’ collab; I’m diggin’ it… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse (Big Duke?) and it sounds nice; regular-soundin’ rappin’ fa tha “south,” here! My Rating: 4.4

07. “Rite Nah”
Produced by: Solo. >>> Sounds good; a nice, repetitive hook that’s nice ta hear… Tha 1st verse from you’s pretty good; gotta dig it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, too; you keepin’ tha energy comin’! My Rating: 4.3

½time: If I would’ve gotten this CD on time, I prolly could’ve done a live review of it. However, a regular review’s still nice. Either way, I would’ve been high if I would’ve done a live review, and I know I would’ve went nuts with this! But, it iz what it iz! You’re at a 4.6 for tha CD rating, currently; that’s pure!!

08. “Yo Click Ain’t Shit” feat. Delwin
I’ono about tha collab… Maybe, that kinda thinkin’s why you ain’t fuck wit me too much, anymore? Fuckin’ wit people that call me 16 names on Twitter? Anyway, produced by you… >>> Really diggin’ tha beat, here; definitely somethin’ ta get buck to! Hook’s definitely on-n-poppin’!! Really diggin’ all this energy, especially all tha background chanting on tha 1st verse!!! Whoo!!! You really got this G-shit/club shit on lock!! Don’t really like hearin’ Delwin, but here he iz on tha 2nd verse… Okay, let’s just limit this to one sentence: “sounds good;” that’s it! Oh, it was as short as I could type this, lol! My Rating: 4.8

09. “Leave Him Home” feat. Bigg Burn
Produced by: Solo. >>> Nice and smooth, here; diggin’ this beat and tha hook… Definitely got tha smooth, slow jamz on lock, here! It’s a risk on an energetic disc, but you know how ta handle it! Can’t complain! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s nice and smooth; “baby”-poppin’, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s good ta flow on by… My Rating: 4.3

10. “Bosshoggin’”
Produced by: K-Chill. >>> Diggin’ tha vibe of bein’ fucked up on tha hook, here; good shit! Nice lil’ southern vibe with tha beat, too; can’t deny it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and your flow feels like tha ‘90s, here; gotta luv it! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice, too; keep it goin’, Chill! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Get Fucked Up” feat. Lady Kym
Produced by: Solo. >>> Sounds like a faster vibe, like, early ‘00s-type southern music… Definitely feelin’ it, but somethin’ tells me I’m feelin’ tha rest of these tracks on here betta, as far as tha vibe? I’ono… Tha hook’s nice ta hear, especially when you gotta “get fucked up!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it’s pretty good… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear; gotta enjoy tha party! My Rating: 4.1

12. “Party All Nite”
Produced by: You & Lou. >>> Just like tha previous joint, this still sounds real nice, but I’ono if this vibe strikes me as much as tha rest of tha tracks on here… Still, nice and smooth-soundin’ hook with an okay, dry-soundin’ “party” beat… Verses are nice; I still can fuck wit it… My Rating: 4.0

13. “Swanga Train”
Produced by: You. >>> This ain’t too bad with a nice, slower beat; feelin’ this “swanga train.” Hearin’ how you “beatin’ down tha block” on tha 2nd ½ of tha hook and it’s nice… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s all about swangin’ throughout this year of 2015 with this nice sound! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice on this shit, too; gotta feel what you bringin’, of course! My Rating: 4.3

14. “Get Buck”
Produced by: You & DJ Dolby D. >>> Nice way ta end it with a Barry White sample in tha beat, as well as a Pimp C sample on tha hook; excellent! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds nice, minus tha “money” shit that I can’t stand… Ugh, you’re mentionin’ it too much! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, though…; can’t complain… LOL, this tha only track where tha length’s normal in my iTunes: 3:00. Most of this sounded nice ta hear, except all tha bullshit “money” shit… My Rating: 4.2

Overall: I knew this was gonna be a pretty hot CD, and it was even better than I expected! A lil’ disappointed with not gettin’ it on time and that I had to find it myself, despite my busy schedule, but I enjoyed listenin’ to it! Keep up tha great work, but, once again, WHEN YOU RELEASE A NEW CD, LET ME GET IT WHEN IT’S NEW!!!

Review #1,441: K-Chill "Fight Muzik Vol. 2"

Reviewed on 2.15.2015 (Review #1,441)

Gettin’ more reviewz outta tha way, this next one’s for K-Chill Fight Muzik Vol. 2, released on Gorillaville Records. One problem: How come this came out and it wasn’t sent to me? Was I meant to fall off? I remember tha dayz wit that “I Don’t Like You” song, from three years ago, where tha CD was actually sent to me in tha mail. Like, am I really that quiet and different now? I mean, I know I’m so tied up and confused about myself, but that doesn’t mean that a CD can’t come my way; I gotta review at least once a month to stay consistent! Start Time: 11:35 AM | End Time: 12:30 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Intro
>>> Diggin’ tha ruckus in tha beginning, fa tha first 50 seconds… And, Dolby D mixin’; sounds nice… Hearin’ tha beat and it’s nice and pure, tha way I love it! Diggin’ all tha samples from tha previous songs of yours, from back in tha day! My Rating: N/A

02. “Give A Fuck”
>>> Thank God you don’t age; beats and energy’s always pure!! Hook sounds just like “Somethin’ In Da Air” from Nu$$ie, Tank Jones & Derty, produced by Beat Flippa: “Fuck you, and you, and you, and you…” Either way, nice spin on it fa 2014! At least it ain’t a turn-off like remakin’ a Kevin Gates beat or somethin’! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice; gotta dig your energy, as well! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too; great chantin’, non-stop!! My Rating: 4.7

03. “Dro & Drank”
>>> Anotha nice-soundin’ joint, right chea; like how it blends! Wow, real nice blendin’; went straight inta tha hook from tha outro of “Give A Fuck!” Really diggin’ how we can “get fucked up,” now! Don’t forget about tha weed cookies; those bitches are like y’all’s jiggaz!! Nice job wit tha 1st verse; just luv these chantin’, energetic, anthemic-soundin’ club bangaz from you! These can’t be beaten!! My Rating: 4.6

04. “Scary Nigga”
>>> Anotha consistent blend from song ta song, here; nice hook, beat, and energetic vocals, once again!! Great hook; gotta keep it goin’!! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice, too; this whole entire CD blends together, in a great way! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too! What else can I say? This CD’s too consistent; can’t say much different about it! My Rating: 4.5

05. “Round Here”
>>> Keepin’ tha consistent blendin’ and tight shit comin’! Nice beat, hook, and how you come through on tha vocals, once again!! Tha 1st verse’s great; can’t get in your way, you know! You’d fuck err-body up! My Rating: 4.5

06. “Kuntry-Azz Nigga”
>>> Sounds good; diggin’ tha beat wit tha “Some Cut” squeakin’, as well as tha hook wit how you sing tha title! Sounds like a different dude on tha 1st verse? No features listed, but it sounds nice ta hear… Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, here; good shit, as always! And, sounds like a different dude on tha 3rd verse, “Really from BR;” they doin’ a nice job, but they ain’t got your energy, Chill… My Rating: 4.4

07. “In Here”
>>> Blendin’ great, once again; feelin’ what you got goin’ on wit tha intro! Anticipatin’ beat, as you’re preparin’ ‘em all! “Titanik drop tha beat…;” he still exists? You neva hear from these people, anymore… Anyway, diggin’ tha hook and how you have a lotta energy, beatin’ they “ass in here!” Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice; “dive in that water, I’m a muthafuckin’ shark!” Damn, lots of energy from you; you neva stop!! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too, as you keep this shit goin’, non-stop!! My Rating: 4.6

08. PSA
>>> Nice interlude; I feel what you talkin’ about how all ‘em “fuckin’ up tha game!” I agree about tha “all worried about a like on Facebook or Instagram;” agreed! Would just luv to call out all tha rappers that have they “Instagram” private. It’s like, back in tha MySpace dayz, none of that shit was private! Total pussyness they livin’ in, Chill; I hate it!! My Rating: N/A

09. “Throw That Back”
>>> A bounce vibe, here; diggin’ it fa a song of yours! Nice energy, still, and tha chantin’s nice! Nice hook; good job wit tha 1st verse, as well! Really? It was just one verse? Luv your lil’ formula and how you keep these bitches short and sweet! I still use that as an influence to not go over two verses when makin’ songs! My Rating: 4.4

10. “Jiggaz”
Keepin’ it alive!! >>> Agreed!! Can’t wait ta try ‘em, one day! I already devoured tha weed cookie, and I feel like it on tha same level! Well, unless you enter tha realm of shrooms, but yeah, this definitely energetic! Luv tha beat and your energy on tha track!! Just gotta luv that hook!!! “You need jiggaz in ya life!!” “You need ta jigg; you need ta jigg!!” My Rating: 4.8

½time: Very energetic CD, so far!! I just luv how it ain’t even stop, despite tha PSA, even though that shit was real!! You really got a lotta energy—consistent energy here!! Keep it up, Chill!! A 4.6-rated CD, currently; yeah!!

11. “Hey DJ”
>>> Real-nice beat; gotta luv your energy, still!! LOL @ “boy, get ya mind right;” almost thought it was aimed at a lil’ kid, fa a second, lol! I’m trippin’, lol… I really don’t have much ta say; I feel like I keep sayin’ tha same thang fa each song… My Rating: 4.5

12. “Dyke Bitch”
>>> Great, consistent blend! Tha 1st verse sounds nice; feelin’ what you comin’ with! Tha hook’s real nice; luvin’ tha X-rated shit!! My Rating: 4.6

13. “How You Gone Act”
>>> This beat sounds much betta, fa some reason; I’m really likin’ those sounds in it! Tha hook’s nice; feelin’ how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes! A lil’ less energy than tha previous songs, but it still sounds nice wit how you makin’ these energetic sounds come out! Tha 2nd verse has more energy comin’ outta you, here; sounds nice! My Rating: 4.4

14. “Everybody Rockin’ (Remix)”
>>> A lil’ bit of Rob Base & DJ Ez Rock on tha sample with, “I wanna rock;” sounds good fa a lil’ bounce, party-like remix! Diggin’ how you enjoyin’ yourself throughout “tha whole” song! LOL: “Nigga, I fuck real well…; fuck real well…; fuck real well…; fuck real well…;” luv how it repeats! Even though only 3:29, it seems like it’s tha longest joint on this mixtape, surprisingly… I guess your other jointz went by quicker, since they were faster…? My Rating: 4.2

15. “All Out Cha”
>>> Really, K-Chill? Featuring a sample from tha dude that ruined my Louisiana passion (B-Real, from 3Deep’s “All The Way” song), 375 dayz ago? Really? Think I jumped for joy? Well, let’s pretend I ate 1,000,000 pounds of chocolate and died of diabetes complications, right now! *Dies* *Review ends…*

16. “Go Sit Down”
>>> Diggin’ how you tellin’ ‘em ta, “Go sit down;” luv how you say it on tha hook! Nice job wit tha quick 1st verse, as well; glad you neva “sit down,” but when will you get up ta my area? Regardless, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too; good shit! My Rating: 4.5

17. “Security”
>>> Diggin’ how Mr. Devious blendin’ in tha “Go Sit Down” ending fa tha intro fa this track; nice!! Hearin’ tha beat and it’s nice, as well as tha content of this one! It’s all about “security” and how they should “get this nigga” ‘cause of how they wanna fuck witchu, Chill! Nice job wit tha 1st verse and how you comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, as well… My Rating: 4.5

18. “Rite Nah”
>>> Okay, I’m really feelin’ tha beat sounds in this one; could be one of tha best ones on here!! Definitely a nicely-provided, energetic-soundin’ hook; gotta luv it! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, providin’ what you need ta provide ta err-body listenin’! And, an unknown feature on tha 2nd verse, here; wonder who it iz? They sound nice, though I feel like this whole entire CD’s fine wit just you… Only an eight-bar verse, but it’s still fine with just you… My Rating: 4.7

19. “Everybody Rockin’ (Radio)”
Don’t think I heard tha original version? >>> Sounds good wit tha beat, tha “Some Cut” squealin’ and your energy. Nice job wit tha 1st verse, here, and lol @ tha censored shit. Like, in today’s world, I’m thinkin’, do those drugs need ta be censored? I feel like this world’s a lil’ more open… Diggin’ tha “form a train” on tha 2nd verse; can’t wait ta do dat, one day, in Louisiana… I just hope all y’all don’t get too old by tha time I get ta Louisiana! My Rating: 4.3

20. “Everybody Rockin’ (Radio Remix)”
See #14 fa tha review…

Article #01: FrankieThaLuckyDog'z Best Underground Louisiana Rap From the Last 7 Years

FrankieThaLuckyDog’z Best Underground Louisiana Rap From the Last 7 Years

When it comes to Louisiana rap, FrankieThaLuckyDog is a modern-day savant. And we’re not just talking about being able to recite Cash Money and No Limit Records’ respective rosters. The 26-year-old Pennsylvania native has an unparalleled knowledge of Louisiana’s underground scene. Yung Yola, Nu$$ie, DJ B-Real, BluBlack: these are just a handful of the names in Frankie’s rolodex of reviews.

Seven years ago, a sequence of events led Frankie to discover 23-year-old Jimmy the DJ’s Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 1 mixtape. 1,417 reviews later, including one of Kevin Gates’ All Or Nuthin’ (The Mixtape) in September of 2008, FrankieThaLuckyDog is celebrating the 7-year anniversary of his “Louisiana Connection.”

We hit up Frankie up to find out his favorite records he’s reviewed. He came back to us with a list of his top 10, coupled with a few sentences about why the record stands the test of time. So, without further adieu, here are FrankieThaLuckyDog’z favorite underground Lousiana rap records.

#10: Yung Yola & D.$.G. 99 Wayz 2 Grind (2009)
Straight outta Gardere Lane in Baton Rouge, Yung Yola & D.$.G. brought their street tales to tha table with their 99 Wayz 2 Grind project. From Yola’s pill-poppin’ anthem “Keep Chewin'” to tha ghetto fabulous “What Am I Gone Do Today?,” it’s no surprise why Frankie got hooked onto Yola’s persona.

#09: K-Chill Fight Night (2011)
Opelousas native K-Chill has been in tha Louisiana rap scene since tha mid ’90s as a part of tha rap group Da Click. Droppin’ his Fight Night disc in late 2011, Frankie became hooked to a consecutive amount of club bangers. Songs such as “Conan,” “Who Wanna Fight,” “Call The Ambulance,” and “Put That Pistol On Ya” prove to tha listener that you can have energy for years to come.

#08: Nu$$ie Bad Azz (2006)
Reppin’ Baton Rouge, now-deceased rapper Nu$$ie dropped his debut, Bad Azz, in 2006. With features that include Baton Rouge natives Kevin Gates, Savage, Big Markee, Max Minelli, to name a few, tha production made you feel like you were deep down in Baton Rouge, even if you were not near there. Not to mention, Nu$$ie and tha crew’s street rhymes give you an insight on how you can love and take caution in tha streets of BR.

#07: Young Ready Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition) (2006)
Straight outta Zion City in Baton Rouge, rapper Young Ready, now known as Racked-Up Ready, hit tha underground streets in 2006 with his Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition) mixtape. Featuring quality production from DJ B-Real, Sims & Killa B, as well as features from rappers out his section, Ready gave tha streets a take on how gutta Baton Rouge people can be. Mix tha content with tha production and your replay button will always be on.

#06: Tha Camp Break It Off! (2007)
Released in tha fall of 2007, Baton Rouge supergroup Tha Camp, consisting of C-Loc, Reno Da Gutta, and Young Ready, released their Break It Off! disc. As each rapper took turns deliverin’ street rhymes and club bangers, production from heavyweights like B-Real, Mouse, and C-Loc made Frankie keep bumpin’ Break It Off! non-stop.

#05: DJ B-Real Pay Da Producer Vol. 1 (2013)
Tha year 2013 kicked off strong when Baton Rouge’s Trill Entertainment producer B-Real dropped his solo debut, Pay Da Producer Vol. 1. Producing and rapping every track with underground Gs like Big Wayne, Zeus, Infa Red, and Mouse, B-Real’s flow and club-friendly tracks were highly infectious to Frankie’s ears. Pay Da Producer Vol. 1‘s one of those CDs that will make you ask B-Real to forever rap and produce tracks—any time, any day.

#04: Jimmy the DJ Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass (Hosted by Nu$$ie) (2008)
Kenner DJ, Jimmy the DJ, dropped his second mixtape compilation, Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 2: Ghetto Pass, in tha summer of 2008. Hosted by Nu$$ie, tha mixtape features underground rappers from New Orleans and Baton Rouge coming together and bringing their A-game. As Frankie supported each rapper, he even got a shout out from Nu$$ie on tha outro.

#03: Beat Flippa Street Certified (2008)
During 2008, Baton Rouge producer Beat Flippa dropped his debut, Street Certified. Featuring pure production from mainly himself, as well as features from Kevin Gates, Savage, Nu$$ie, Young Ready, and more, Street Certified provided a buffet of Baton Rouge quality for Frankie. Street Certified‘s a great place to find plenty of rappers, street music, club bangers, and a sound to always keep on replay.

#02: Big Jay Presents Pyrex Radio Vol. 4: From Crumbs 2 Brickz (2006)
Baton Rouge DJ Big Jay came through in late 2006 with his 4th installment of his Pyrex Radio mixtape compilations. With features like C-Loc, Young Ready, Savage, Kevin Gates, Jigga House Records, 3Deep, and others, Frankie got addicted to this mixtape quicker than any drug. It also opened tha door for him to embrace Baton Rouge’s sound and style.

#01: BluBlack Code Blu (2008)
Gardere Lane representative BluBlack released his Code Blu album toward tha end of 2008. With nearly all of tha production and rappin’ done by Blu, Blu’s drug-induced lifestyle, pill-poppin’, street music caught on with Frankie in a major, addictive way. Tha CD also introduced him to peeps like Yung Yola, and he kept replaying tha CD constantly throughout 2009. Code Blu goes down as Frankie’s favorite Louisiana CD that he’s come across throughout his 7-year period of bein’ connected with tha Louisiana rap scene.

Review #1,395: 3 Way Street Radio Presents "Got Pills 4: 100% Jigged Out"

Reviewed on 3.31.2014 (Review #1,395)

Got a quick review, up here. It’s actually from September 13, 2011, but when I first downloaded it, I had trouble extracting tha mixtape. Then, just a few dayz ago, Way 3000 uploaded tha whole CD to YouTube. While I was downloadin’ tha YouTube audio, I re-downloaded tha original file, to get track names, and I was able to open—not extract—each file! Shit, if only I would’ve known! This long-lost review’s 3 Way Street Radio Presents Got Pills 4: 100% Jigged Out. Each song on here’s from 2010, though released on September 13, 2011. Lookin’ at tha tracklist, and wow, completely different times, compared to now! Been robbed by two fuck niggaz from BR since this came out, so you know I’ve been through some shit, since! I think almost each artist on this mixtape either got into some bullshit with me, didn’t thank me for awards, or some other shit on here. I’ll try and not say anything, but if Way 3000 hits me up about it, I’m open to talk about anything! So, to be fair, all of my ratings’ll be as of September 13, 2011. If I’ve heard tha song already, I’ll just post a rating. Start Time: 10:32 AM | End Time: 11:18 AM

If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

01. Quick & Money Bagz Feat. Big Poppa & DJ B-Real “Two Of Those”
No B-Real on tha ID, lol! BTW, I wanna know why he’s afraid of jiggaz, all of a sudden! On March 8, 2013, he was on tha phone with me, coughin’. I joked and said, “You need some jiggaz,” and he answered me all scared, somethin’ like, “No, I don’t fuck wit them,” or somethin’. Meanwhile, that’s tha name of his label, Jigga House Records! He told me he wouldn’t tell me what was wrong wit jiggaz ‘cause he had someone in tha car. I neva got tha chance to remind him, and now, he don’t even have a phone/iz nowhere to be found, so I may not eva know… Either way, hope I can find out soon ‘cause that’s really contradicting from his label name!! My Current Rating: 4.9

02. Lil’ Boosie Feat. Shell, Mouse & DJ B-Real “Cartoon”
He’s on this ID, too, though I don’t eva remember his part on here… Funny how this came out just weeks before B-Real & I started connectin’… I prolly would’ve been more excited reviewin’ this, at tha time, anticipatin’ that moment of startin’ to connect wit B-Real! My Current Rating: 4.8

03. Big Poppa “Mr. AAA”
This had to’ve been on a different compilation, like 5150 & Dre, when I first heard it… Wow, their first release, N.O. To The B.R. (Louisiana Bound), I see; a 2009 song, here… My Current Rating: 4.3

04. Ville Boyz Feat. Level “All In”
My Current Rating: 4.5

05. Quick & Money Bagz Feat. Lil’ One “Where They Do That At”
No, 3000, it’s “Where”, not “Were”! My Current Rating: 4.5

06. Webbie “My People”
My Current Rating: 4.3

07. Quick & Money Bagz Feat. Lil’ Boosie & Locco “Da Roof”
Also, featuring Locco! My Current Rating: 4.6

08. K-Chill “Take It Outside”
K-Chill’s, like, one of tha only ones normal that I still talk to; neva had an issue wit him! My Current Rating: 4.6

09. Lil’ Boosie Feat. Foxx, Lil’ Trill, Webbie & Mouse “Better Not Fight”
You forgot Mouse on tha ID… My Current Rating: 4.5

½time: Looks like one of my Tha Louisiana Archives mixtape compilations I would put together… Just sounds like a bunch of songs I already heard that are real nice fa this CD! Not one song’s close ta suckin’, and in tha middle of this CD, this mixtape’s worth a 4.6 for tha CD rating!

10. Badd Nooze “Mental Home”
My Current Rating: 4.7

11. Supa Feat. Level & Big World “No Emotions”
LOL @ tha no Big World on tha ID… But, this mixtape came out just months before Supa succumbed to blockin’ me on Facebook, all ‘cause he couldn’t handle tha support I was showin’ him, on my 2011 year-end countdown! Would’ve liked to spell his name outta scratch-off lottery tickets fa his birthday, last Sunday, but I keep forgettin’ that tha result of tha Lucky Dog supportin’ on tha East Coast always ends with a middle finger in my ass, smh! My Current Rating: 4.5

12. Tech “Flash Out”
Can’t remember when he dropped tha “h” from his name… Actually, I just googled it, and your Reverbnation came up, with an “H”… I dunno why, but I don’t remember this one; I gon have ta rehear… >>> Lookin’ online, and I see that it’s tha only 2011 joint on here, so far. Also, I see tha video was uploaded just a few months ago; took so long for a video? Anyway, sounds nice wit this beat, and, of course, Tech’s a beast wit them “chewies!” At least he ain’t afraid of jiggaz like B-Real was tellin’ me, smh! LOL, even “Better Not Fight”-quoting, too, on tha 1st verse… Gotta feel everythang he spittin’! Can’t believe I talked ta such a blessed artist like him, though, I wish I could get a hold of him through Facebook, Instagram, etc.; he need ta have more of a social media following! Gotta luv tha flashin’; Tech one of tha kings of tha Baton Rouge undaground scene, ya dig?! Anotha normal dude! And, tha 2nd verse goes ham, too; tha beat just really holds him down!! Wow, my excitement on this track’s review literally sounds like how excited I was, reviewin’ in 2011! Glad Tech can bring that outta me in 2014!! Pretty rare that somebody can bring this excitement outta me, nowadayz! “Already!!,” just like my boy, Jiggaman, from Opelousas, says, and I fuckin’ luv when he says that!! Also, Big Josh on tha beat!! My Rating: 4.8

13. Quick & Money Bagz “Box It Out”
Or, “However You Wanna Do It”! My Current Rating: 4.8

14. Down Bad Feat. Level “Loritabs & Zanibars”
I LOL @ this title all tha time, that “Lori”’s in tha “tab”’s name, lol! But, I don’t remember if I heard this, before (though I’ve seen it). >>> Rehearin’ it, real quick, and it sounds pretty entertainin’ and classic on tha hook! I still ROFL @ JR Dot for questionin’ me if I knew “who Juicy J” was! OMG, everytime I hear Juicy J, that’s what I think about, now! Too funny; guess that’s what them “loritabs and zanibars” do? Cage a beast wit that character of his wit tha 1st verse… And, of course, Level blah-blah-blah wit his verse… JR Dot (I believe) on tha 3rd verse’s crazy as fuck wit his character! And, Mike Sneezzy a fool wit tha beat! Way 3000 on tha outro; just gotta luv him ta death!! “Too many damn pillz;” you already know, bruh!! My Rating: 4.8

15. Louisiana Ca$h Feat. Dorrough “She Know”
Think you forgot tha “How To Do It” in tha title, lol? My Current Rating: 4.2

16. Level Feat. Dorrough “Is You Wet Yet (Remix)”
Remix, here, though boring feature, twice in a row… My Current Rating: 4.0

17. Dog Feat. Foxx “Put Da Dick Down”
Before Dog started deletin’ IG comments fa no reason! Of course, tha blame’s always on me for bullshit, smh! My Current Rating: 4.4

18. Young Ready Feat. Level “Bungy Jump”
My Current Rating: 4.7

19. Trill Fam Feat. Lil’ Boosie, Webbie, Foxx, Lil’ Trill & Mouse “Turn The Beat Up”
Can’t forget about Mouse, again, lol! My Current Rating: 4.5

Overall: Nice job, 3 Stacks! Turned out to get five stars from me, despite me knowin’ almost every song! Keep up tha great work; lookin’ forward to Got Pills 5, though I gotta find a way to evade bullshit… Maybe, havin’ a job now, I’ll care less about bullshit/deleted comments from people, since I’m makin’ money, now!
