Review #1,873: Lil' Jinks "It's All Over"

Reviewed on 12.16.2019 (Review #1,873)

Rough lil’ day but I strive to continue gettin’ these reviewz done! My next one iz Lil’ Jinks It’s All Over, released in 1999 on Too Loaded Records (II Loaded Records) & was produced by Christopher Mason…! Start Time: 3:29 PM | End Time: 4:20 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “It’s All Over” feat. The Purified Assembly & Miss Kim
>>> Likin’ tha beat start with tha dark keys/vibe…! Sounds okay with this chick singin’ on tha hook, as well as what you got on tha 1st verse, here… Tha 2nd verse not too bad, here; startin’ ta sound depressin’? A lil’ breakdown of singin’ from tha chick, here; I’ono… Now that I’m hearin’ tha 3rd verse, it’s soundin’ even more depressin’. Especially that I’m currently depressed, I’ono how much I wanna appreciate this shit, right nah… My Rating: 2.9

02. “This Is The Life” feat. Toez
Co-produced by Toez, as well… >>> Anotha nice production but I hope it’s not too sad fa me ta appreciate… Hearin’ anotha chick sing, in tha beginning; not sure what ta expect… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and these rhymes are nice! Ugh, hittin’ home wit tha “relocate;” that’s how I feel, right nah!! Toez joinin’ on tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse and he speakin’ how I’m feelin’; gotta stay strong! Tha hook sounds good, here; all about that “G” shit…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s pretty nice wit what you spittin’, here; keep it goin’…! Even mo shit from Toez, comin’ through as a “19”-year-old, doin’ tha damn thang, here…! My Rating: 4.2

03. “Kiesha”

Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s good; let’s see what else’s here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ okay; I’ono how interested I’m in this topic, overall… Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, as well; not bad song, overall. My favorite part was tha ‘80s video game sounds… My Rating: 3.7

½time: A 4.0-rated CD, so far; really feelin’ tha dark vibes on this CD, of course! Most of tha shit on here’s good, while some of it kinda fucks wit my depressin’ point of view, right nah… We’ll see how this continues, tho…

08. “Walking In The Rain” feat. Miss Kim
>>> Gonna be anotha sad track? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad wit what you bringin’ to tha table… I’m likin’ that this beat sounds eerie, tho… Remakin’ that “The Rain” track from tha ‘80s, here, on tha hook; not bad, Kim… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ good; I appreciate this hood shit… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; just sounds like a real-life situation… My Rating: 3.1

09. “Sick Of This”
>>> More of a lighter-soundin’ beat, with a nice lil’ quick hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I feel tha darkness of your rhymes in your flow, here; good shit… Hearin’ tha full hook and it’s a lil’ repetitive but it’s str8; I feel your pain! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice ta hear, as well… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and I’m likin’ what you spittin’, here; good shit… My Rating: 4.0

10. “This Is How It Be” feat. Tre-8 & Miss Kim
>>> A lil’ on a slow, piano-like vibe, here, wit tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ okay; I like tha “thug” content but not sure if this’ll be sad… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds okay with Kim on it, as well as your contribution… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & you keepin’ it goin’; good job… Nice ta hear Tre on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty consistent & dark wit tha rhymes, as always! Great lil’ collab; brought more light to my interest, thanx ta him! My Rating: 3.9

11. “Baller’s Life” feat. The Black Flag

Review #1,820: Tre-8 "Nuttin' But Drama"

Reviewed on 10.13.2019 (Review #1,820)

Now that I’m pretty-much settled, I think it’s time I revive my ever-revivin’ Louisiana Reviewz Marathon that I started, back on May 1, 2009. I haven’t done a throwback review since August 11, 2017, due to Austin On Tha Track passin’ away. It threw off my flow for reviewin’ tha old CDs and now, I finally am back at this… I’m a lot stronger wit my mind & don’t think anythang’ll stop my goals, from now on! Where I left off was toward tha end of ’98 wit tha late Tre-8 Nuttin’ But Drama, released in 1998 on South Coast Music Group & Smoke 1 Records; let’s get it! Start Time: 11:54 AM | End Time: 1:07 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it!
