Review #1,584: Tazz "Looney Tunez (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl)"

Reviewed on 11.04.2016 (Review #1,584)

Keepin’ it goin’ with a 5th review for today: Tazz Looney Tunez (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl), released earlier this year. Now that Tazz followin’ me on Twitter and iz appreciatin’ tha reviewz, we’ll see how this one goes… Start Time: 12:50 PM | End Time: 1:40 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Lord Help Me”
>>> I kinda like how this sounds, at times, but I gotta keep my guard up… Beat sounds like somethin’ that stupid Young Thug would rap on… I’m not really feelin’ tha lyrics… It almost sounds like your voice changed, too? I’ll still be pretty nice with tha rating, tho… My Rating: 3.4

02. “Lost In The Clouds” feat. Rojay
>>> This laidback beat sounds pretty nice… Now, this sounds more like your voice… Tha hook sounds catchy. It sounds like you’re approachin’ a lil’ more of a mainstream approach wit how some of these tracks sound, now… Rojay sounds decent on tha 1st verse; not bad… Ehh, decent, overall… My Rating: 3.6

03. “Forever True”
After two no-producer tracks, here comes $hop With Ken to save ya! >>> For an anticipatin’ beat, it sounds kinda dry… I do like tha lyrics on tha hook on how you wanna “light up tha weed.” Other than tha nice lil’ hi-hats, this iz calm and plain fa me… My Rating: 3.6

04. “Addicted”
My Current Rating: 3.6

05. “Broski’s” feat. YB
ROFL!!! It actually appeared on here, too, just like with tha YB Self-Investment CD! Ken on tha beat! My Current Rating: 4.5

06. “Hey”
>>> Slow vibe; kinda cheesy wit how it sounds wit you rappin’, here… Let’s see what else this can offer besides a hook… Nothin’ much goin’ on at all… Surprised this 3:57 in length! My Rating: 3.0

07. “Get In There (Souljah Mix)” feat. Banana & Club
Vintage Rippah remixin’ it for ya, here, with Banana & Club on tha feature… >>> Still sounds pretty nice; tha Beezy Bird-soundin’ “bow”s! Nice collab, still! My Rating: 3.8

08. “Wednesday Night” feat. Vintage Rippah
Now, Rippah goin’ from producer to tha feature, as Ken handles tha beat… >>> Feelin’ tha fucked-up vibe on tha hook, here, with tha lyrics… Tha beat sounds kinda plain fa a Ken beat, again, but it makes for a decent track… Tha 1st verse gives this a nice lil’ vibe fa F.Y.N.I.C. connectin’ wit each other… My Rating: 3.5

½time: After tha past few Tazz CDs have had a lil’ more of a boostin’ start, I feel like this one goin’ in reverse, a lil’. Some of tha beats are kinda dry and aren’t as interesting as tha previous CD’s beats… Also, tha tracks aren’t as catchy? A 3.6-rated CD, currently…

09. “Sick & Tired”
>>> Slow vibe; can’t fuck wit no voice effects! Decent, but cheesy; won’t tolerate tha voice effects! My Rating: 2.1

10. “I Know” feat. Savage
Ewe, lol. Vintage Rippah on tha beat… My Current Rating: 3.1

11. “Speeding & Swerving”
Break it down fa me, wit Vintage on tha beat! >>> This sounds like it has an interestin’ sound to it, in tha beginning… Tha hook sounds pretty catchy; like how it’s laidback… Hearin’ how you comin’ through wit tha verses and they’re soundin’ decent… I’m really feelin’ this exotic production, lol… My Rating: 3.7

12. “Designer Everywhere” feat. Li Dreco
Now, Dreco has a space in his stage name? I’ono, but it’s still DrecoOnTheTrack for tha production ID! >>> Sounds like a sellout-kinda song… “Designer” or “Versace”, it’s still sellin’! Nice ta be fresh, but not ta make it sell out! At least Dreco adds a lil’ flava ta this… My Rating: 2.8

13. “Living Wrong”
Vintage Rippah beat… >>> Beat has a good vibe ta it; not bad… Hearin’ you on tha hook and it’s decent with “living wrong.” Hearin’ you spit tha verses and they sound aight; nothin’ special… My Rating: 3.5

14. “Again”
You had a “Not Again” and now, just “Again”? >>> Beat a lil’ betta, here, as well as tha hook… “Body be fulla dem xanz;” nice! I can fuck wit this; not bad, overall… My Rating: 3.7

15. “Make A Change” feat. B-Real
Really? I thought you were unknown?!? I could go on and on about tha producer/feature, but I think I just gon cry, attempt to come out as bi, hate myself, hate my life, get depressed all tha time, wanna do shit & engage myself in risky activities! Aren’t they tha reason why people commit suicide? Why don’t I just skip this?!

…Guess not? Fuck! I always lose!! I wanna just cry!! >>> Here goes tha honesty… Beat has its quality… I’ono how much I can feel tha hook’s vocals but I like tha whole thought of makin’ “a change.” Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it decent; not much ta say… I thought B-Real would be on tha hook but no, an actual verse! Tha 2nd verse! Of course, definitely pure quality, but I can’t respect all tha lyrics, if you know me!! No way iz he “tha same!!” I’m not even gonna go into it… My Rating: 4.4

16. “Take My Hand”
>>> A slower vibe ta end this CD off… Not too bad; I’ono what else ta say… I’ono, at times, I can’t really feel your voice… Still, this a nice track ta end this CD off… My Rating: 3.2

Overall: I’ono, but I thought this was tha least-ranked one outta tha five I reviewed, so far… If It wasn’t for tha “Broski’s” & tha B-Real feature, this would’ve mainly went down tha tubes… Almost every single song was decent, with some bein’ below-average. I’ono, but you were previously catchier…

Review #1,581: Tazz "Road To Hollywood"

Reviewed on 11.04.2016 (Review #1,581)

Comin’ through wit anotha one, here, here goes my review fa Tazz Road To Hollywood, released in 2014. Question: Why this 1:24:47?! Guess it ain’t sell any copies? Start Time: 8:10 AM | End Time: 8:38 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! © 2016 CD Review (Review #1,581) reviewed on 11.04.2016 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Road To Hollywood”
>>> Likin’ tha beat and how this sounds fa a start… Hearin’ how you comin’ through wit tha rappin’ and it’s soundin’ decent; can’t complain… Tha hook’s pretty nice, too; good shit, overall… My Rating: 4.2

02. “Way Too Long”
That’s “too” on tha title, not “to”! >>> Sounds like it has a good vibe ta it… I’m diggin’ this laidback vibe and how you comin’ through wit a slow-soundin’ hook ova this beat… Might be “way too long,” as far as how “long” this track iz, but it’s whateva… My Rating: 3.5

03. “Gotta Make It”
>>> Beat sounds like a good lil’ quiet, Baton Rouge-soundin’ one… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s decent, makin’ “it on [our] own.” That’s exactly what I have ta do, since there’s no1! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you sound like a ‘90s/early ‘00s rapper, at times; good shit… Good rhymes throughout this; you know how ta hold it down… My Rating: 3.7

04. “Let Me Explain”
>>> Likin’ tha beat, here, for a laidback one and it’s soundin’ like a decent track with this laidback hook… Rhymes ain’t too bad; sounds like a good song ta be motivated to… It can be a lil’ long, at times, tho… My Rating: 3.6

05. “Bitch You” feat. Youngin & Clubfoot
>>> Anticipatin’ this club vibe in tha beginning with tha hook! Almost sounds like Foxx sampled on tha hook, as well as almost soundin’ like Beezy Bird wit tha “bow” samples, too! Definitely evolved-soundin’ shit, here! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ great wit how you have your unique, G-Funk voice ta hold down a Baton Rouge club banga down… Youngin on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good rappin’; it just sounds good, basically… And, Clubfoot on tha 3rd verse, just holdin’ tha vibe down… My Rating: 4.3

06. “True Soldiers” feat. Dreco
>>> Nice beat, here, from Dreco and tha hook’s pretty nice fa tha streetz… I like tha gangsta vibe you bring to tha undaground, here, just stayin’ on ya grind… Dreco sounds good on this, too, helpin’ you out, here… Sounds like a good track, even tho a lil’ long… My Rating: 3.6

07. “Wid Us”
Likin’ tha title… >>> Likin’ tha hook, here, wit tha, “You don’t wanna go ta war wid us.” Definitely catchy with how tha hook sounds, wit how you holdin’ it down! My Rating: 4.0

08. “Fuck You Over”
Anotha short one… >>> Beat’s decent, here, and your rhymes are nice. I’m diggin’ how you survivin’ tha street life on this track, here. My Rating: 3.8

09. “Fight Song” feat. Joc (TT Ent.)
>>> Uh oh @ tha beat intro! Sounds pretty serious! Dreco, again? Hook’s pretty nice, even tho you coulda had a lil’ more energy in your flow, here? Still, nice job! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice! Your laidback voice can hold tha clubs down, regardless… And, them Ent. boyz on tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice; can’t deny it… My Rating: 3.9

10. “Grinding, Shining”
It’s “shining”, not “shineing”. >>> A really slow, kinda-draggin’ intro, here, includin’ your beginning part with tha hook… Not too bad for a laidback vibe ta come out outta nowhere, even tho it’s a lil’ long, once again… I could rate it lower but I feel a lil’ somethin’ outta it… My Rating: 3.5

½time: Not too bad, so far; sounds a lil’ betta than tha previous release? You have a few more betta vibes, this time, and you know how ta surprise me wit tha tracks; good shit! A 3.8-rated CD, so far…

11. “So Tired”
>>> Again, this anotha laidback one that sounds pretty nice; feelin’ tha hook… Also, somethin’ about these beats that have somethin’ special attached to ‘em. I dig tha undaground vibe and not tryna sell out! Definitely feelin’ tha hook, once again, and tha rhymes ain’t too bad ta hold it down! My Rating: 3.8

12. “Let Me Know” feat. Ugly K
>>> This has a sample in tha beginning fa tha soul/R&B heads… Kinda sappy fa me, this time; felt tha previous song betta… Tha Ugly K dude sounds like they can go down as a legend when they pass? I’ono, just basin’ it off they voice… Still, just decent/a lil’ below-average fa me… My Rating: 3.2

13. “Unborn Child” (100 Jimmy feat. Tazz)
>>> Not feelin’ tha Tupac-sampled hook with almost tha same title, here… Luckily, it turned into a regular-produced song… Beat’s kinda sappy, but I’m feelin’ how it’s a lil’ depressin’, here, since that’s what tha world’s turning into… This iz way too long fa me ta just sit here, tho, like, 6:06? What else can I say? I’d rather just pass this one… My Rating: 2.6

14. “Foreign Cars” (JoJo On The Hook feat. Tazz)
>>> Seen just tha “JoJo On The Hook” in tha ID and thought it was just whoever that iz. However, I hear you in tha beginning? So, I’ll just put it as them featuring you? Sounds too much like a showoff song ta me with a boring beat… Ugh! Why that beat tag gotta keep repeatin’? Turn-off fa me! Anotha one that’s too long, too! My Rating: 2.5

15. “Dreams & Nightmares”
>>> Very dry beat, here; decent rhymes… Ehh, can’t really say much… My Rating: 2.7

16. “Ride With Me”
Knew this sounded familiar… My Current Rating: 4.2

17. “Get In There” (SmashBros feat. Lit Nick)
My Current Rating: 3.6

18. “My Song To You” feat. 100it Jimmy & Banana
>>> Kinda sounds like a jacked beat in tha beginning… A lil’ too R&Bish fa me… Bringin’ back tha Vybe beats again, lol? This was 2014, too? Thought that dude was all washed up by then? Random… Also, too long, here; ehh… My Rating: 3.1

19. “10 A.M.”
>>> I’m likin’ this slow, laidback vibe… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you sound like a ‘90s rapper with these “school” rhymes, here; dope! My Rating: 3.9

20. “Get Me”
>>> Really long length, here… Long beat intro and it’s not really for me, here… Not much inta tha “gettin’ money” shit, nor a laidback vibe… Rhymes ain’t too bad, overall, as you got this street shit on lock, tho. It’s just, I’ono, just a lil’ too laidback fa me? My Rating: 3.3

21. “I Ain’t Worried” feat. Banana
>>> Beat’s decent, here… Just sounds like a random song ta end this CD off… And, even a random appearance from Banana, too… My Rating: 2.9

Overall: Thought this was a better CD than tha previous one, but tha 2nd ½ of tha CD made tha previous CD sound better… Still, there were tracks on here that sounded betta than tha 1st CD and I thought you had evolved… Either way, let’s see how tha 3rd one gon go…

Rankings:

21.       “Foreign Cars” (JoJo On The Hook feat. Tazz) 2.5

Review #1,580: Tazz "Thoughts In My Mind"

Reviewed on 11.04.2016 (Review #1,580)

Randomly decided to find some CDs from some artists featured on CDs and I came across Baton Rouge’s Tazz Thoughts In My Mind, released in 2013; let’s see… Start Time: 7:16 AM | End Time: 7:42 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! © 2016 CD Review (Review #1,580) reviewed on 11.04.2016 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Intro”
>>> Sounds like it can be a good beginning/hook with how it sounds with tha “Thoughts In My Mind” and how they go “round and round.” Tha beat’s kinda ehh/plain, but sounds a lil’ betta than a usual plain beat… Tha verse sounds decent, too; can’t complain too much… My Rating: 4.1

02. “I’m Dedicated” feat. Roger
>>> Intro, here, ta let y’all know what’s in… Tha beat sounds kinda depressing/sad? Not my kinda song; decent, here… It sounds like anotha good part from you, tho, with how you deliver it… Tha hook almost sounds like a Bone Thug on tha voice… A lil’ too long, but not too bad… My Rating: 3.2

03. “TreTown Thang” feat. Clubfoot & P.Oaks
>>> I’m likin’ how this sounds… This may sound crazy, but because this not 2016, I feel like this sounds like so long ago! Like, three years ago was that long ago? Shit! Wish DJ B-Real would fuckin’ finally realize that with me! Like, 2013? Really? Beat sounds like a nice street vibe, here, with its undaground, Baton Rouge vibe… Tha hook’s not bad ta hold it down fa tha “TreTown,” here. This collaboration sounds nice ta hear, with its party vibe, too… My Rating: 3.8

04. “DJ Turn The Beat Up” feat. Joc & Banana
Lol @ tha feature names… >>> Sounds like a good club vibe, fa tha undaground, as if it was a nice imagination… You sound nice on tha 1st verse, here, with that voice of yours holdin’ shit down… Props fa tha 2nd verse, too, jumpin’ “stupid,” too, from that Joc. And, that Banana’s a chick, comin’ through nicely fa tha undaground… She sounds like a nice lil’ chick from ‘07/’08’s undaground… My Rating: 3.7

05. “How She Feels” feat. Jimmy
>>> Tha hook kinda sappy and this beat ain’t really doin’ much in tha beginning… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you sound a lil’ betta, here, even tho a lil’ low on tha voice? Nothin’ really interestin’, includin’ how quiet tha Jimmy dude be soundin’ on tha 2nd verse… Iz this R&B or rap??? My Rating: 3.3

06. “Get In There” (SmashBros feat. Lit Nick)
>>> Volume’s much louder, here? Random… Sounds like a nice lil’ undaground club song, here; can’t complain, a lil’… Rhymes ain’t too bad, at times, even tho I can be more interested with tha verses… My Rating: 3.6

07. “Bend It Over” feat. Ked & Cal
>>> Sounded like it randomly was mixed in with tha previous song? This sounds like anotha nice club vibe, even tho I like this one a lil’ more… Rhymes are ehh; can’t really go nuts about ‘em… My Rating: 3.6

08. “Gangsta Shit” (Ked feat. Shane Youngin & Tazz)
>>> Ugh!! Not likin’ tha Nu$$ie-sampled quote in tha beginning! No reason fa dat!! I mean, “Down For My Ns” beat? Naw, no Nu$$ie needed!! This ain’t too bad with tha rhymes and how y’all handlin’ tha flow, but I can’t be bothered… My Rating: 3.4

½time: Nothin’ special, just a decent CD, so far, that sounds like it’s not even from 2013; sounds more ‘06ish…? Either way, a 3.6-rated CD, so far; got plenty more to go after this!

09. “Hard Times” feat. LiDreco & Banana
>>> Looks like it gon be too long… Sounds decent with how tha beat sounds and how you definin’ these “hard times,” on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like you sound like an older rapper… It sounds like you can hold shit down on ya own with your releases… Dreco sounds like a nice lil’ Baton Rouge rapper, here; nice contribution… And, Banana aight with these real-life rhymes; prolly should just stick to club rhymes, tho… My Rating: 3.7

10. “Same Thang” feat. LiDreco & Celly Cel
>>> Beat sounds nice fa tha undaground; tha hook ain’t too bad… You on tha 1st verse and it sounds like you’re like a younger version of tha rappers I grew up to, here… Dreco sounds good, once again, here; anotha good contribution… And, Celly Cel comin’ through like a nice Baton Rouge rapper, too; can’t complain… My Rating: 3.7

11. “Ride With Me”
>>> I’m likin’ tha beginning, here… Tha beat sounds nice and tha hook sounds like a nice lil’ eerie song that coulda qualified fa tha G-Funk era! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and yeah, you do have tha voice of a G-Funk artist! My Rating: 4.2

12. “I Don’t Fuck Around” feat. Joc & Dreco
Just “Dreco”, this time? Not “LiDreco”? >>> How random to bring back tha Vybe beats… Kinda boring with a repetitive hook, here… Your verse’s ehh fa this kinda vibe; nothin’ special… Likin’ how that Joc dude sounds on tha 2nd verse. It sounds like he got this Baton Rouge undaground shit on lock… And, Dreco ain’t too bad on tha 3rd verse, too… My Rating: 3.1

13. “Fuck A Nigga” feat. Celly Cel & Dreco
>>> A stupid beat tag in tha beginning; couldn’t even undastand it! Sounds like it can have a club vibe but, like, with how rappers treat me as an imaginary thing, that’s how this sounds ta me. It has a good club vibe but I’ont see it goin’ past someone’s house… Sounds like anotha good collab, tho, as that Celly Cel dude has that energy ta offer. And, Dreco sounds good with his rhymes; decent song, overall… My Rating: 3.5

14. “1Chopper, 2HandGuns” (Dreco feat. Tazz)
>>> Now, I understand tha beat tag from tha last song. It’s Dreco, as it’s on this one, too… Decent-soundin’ beat fa tha undaground; can’t complain… Tha hook sounds catchy; I’m likin’ tha flow/voice… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you can’t deny them “guns,” right? Scary… And, some nice G-shit from Dreco on tha 2nd verse…; decent at its finest… My Rating: 3.5

15. “Own Thang” feat. Dreco
>>> Dreco, again, on tha beat… Ehh, nothin’ really much happenin’ wit this one, here… It kinda sounds catchy on tha hook but nothin’ much goin’ on wit tha verses… It ain’t terrible, tho… My Rating: 3.3

16. “Lean”
>>> Dreco, again, with tha beat? Likin’ this content and this simple hook… Beat kinda quiet in tha background, tho; not mastered right? Decent track; just like tha content… My Rating: 3.7

17. “Rap Battle” feat. 100it Jimmy
So, I guess Jimmy’s really named “100it Jimmy”? Inconsistent names (Jimmy/100it Jimmy & Dreco/LiDreco)… >>> Love how this one’s louder, outta nowhere… It sounds nice with this club beat; can’t deny tha club vibe… Of course, a Mista quote with, “Hate when niggaz mouth off…” Mista/Wne (their song); close enough… My Rating: 3.4

Overall: Not too bad for a 1st release. You have that underground vibe, here, and your songs ain’t too bad… At least you provide an undaground vibe and not no mainstream bullshit, here…

Rankings:

17.       “I Don’t Fuck Around” feat. Joc & Dreco 3.1
16.       “I’m Dedicated” feat. Roger 3.2
