Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. Intro
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> Sounds like a laidback-type intro, here; nice & calm… My Rating: N/A

02. “The Most Official” feat. Bumpy Johnson
Producer: Acé-Lo

>>> Sounds like a good lil’ gangsta track, based off this beat & 1^st verse… I thought this woulda been betta wit a transition to a hook or somethin’ but it sounds like one entire verse in a song, smh… My Rating: 3.1

03. “Pushing Product” feat. Ju Ju & Wyld Boy
Producer: Grant Norris

>>> Tha bassline sounds like “Get Money”, here, as tha beat str8… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it sounds like a dope verse wit aggression… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good, as you’re “pushing narcotics;” nice job…! Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it sounds good wit how you keep your hustle up, fa tha ‘9-9; good shit! Got tha 3^rd verse goin’ on, as well & this shit’s pretty nice, once again; nice job… My Rating: 4.1

04. “What It Means To Me” feat. Bumpy J
Producer: Acé-Lo

>>> Sounds like a laidback track, here, as far as tha hook & beat goes… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it ain’t bad, so far… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & this shit continues ta ride through… Movin’ on wit tha 3^rd verse & it sounds good, too; nice job… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Hard Times (Remix)” feat. Bumpy Johnson, Nickel & Swisher
Producer: B. Bentley

>>> Beat cool fa tha ‘90s, here… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it cool wit what y’all bringin’, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it str8 wit survivin’ these “Hard Times,” ya dig? Tha 2^nd verse sounds like good storytellin’ fa tha streetz, here… Got tha 3^rd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds str8; can’t complain, here… All you gotta do iz “eat [your] Fruit Loops!” That’s all! Got a 4^th verse, here & it ain’t bad; seems like a long track, tho? My Rating: 3.6

06. “Promise Me Tomorrow” feat. Albert Stamps
Producer: Acé-Lo

>>> Sounds like a good lil’ track fa tha south, here…; nice lil’ 1^st verse & beat… Tha hook kinda sounds okay wit tha singin’, even tho it throws me off, at times… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it str8; can’t say much, here… Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 3^rd verse & it sounds rough wit this future ta “suffer;” ouch…! Ouch @ “in tha system;” I’m currently goin’ through dat! Hate these times!! My Rating: 2.8

07. “On It Bad” feat. Big Juss, Bumpy J, Ru Ryda & Smoked-Out
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat & how tha 1^st verse’s soundin’, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds anthemic fa wantin’ “it bad;” nice… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it sounds like that ol-school gangsta shit, here; nice… Tha 3^rd verse iz pretty motivational, as it keeps lookin’ out fa dis mission that y’all after; nice job, once again… My Rating: 3.8

08. “The Same” feat. Bumpy Johnson
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> This one okay; a lil’ eerie wit tha female voice that randomly appears in tha hook… Afta listenin’ to all tha verses & dealin’ wit this vibe, it sounds kinda depressin’; not really up my alley… My Rating: 2.9

½time: A lil’ on tha weak side wit some of tha production & non-Louisiananess… It’s only a 3.4-rated CD, so far; let’s see how we continue…

09. “Killer For Anything” feat. Blaq Tone, Bumpy J, Debu At All, Ru Ryda & Smoked-Out
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> I’m feelin’ this darker-soundin’ beat, this time… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it cool; I’m feelin’ what’s bein’ spit, in a dark perspective… Hearin’ tha 2^nd part of tha 1^st verse & it str8; nice contribution… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s soundin’ good wit bein’ on dat mission ta succeed; sounds good fa tha Gz… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it sounds suicidal? “Put it [tha steel] to my temple?” Ouch… Gotta think positive! No hook afta tha 2^nd verse, so far, as it’s a bunch of parts; not bad, tho weak transitionin’… My Rating: 3.2

10. “Out There”
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> A street-soundin’ track wit a laidback beat wit a guitar, soundin’ nice fa tha 1^st verse… All about “praying for some peace,” as far as tha hook goes; nice, even tho it usually ain’t up my alley (tha content). Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it sounds rough wit this cremation shit; ouch! Hearin’ tha 3^rd verse & this iz startin’ ta sound sappy fa me; not inta sad times… My Rating: 3.0

11. “A Reason To Ride” feat. Bumpy J, Debu At All & The Beast
Producer: Acé-Lo

>>> Beat decent; hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it’s soundin’ okay, tho I don’t thank my interest’ll hold up… Tha hook sounds good fa tha streetz; I’ll give it some props… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it’s an “Ohio” reppa; I’ono… Verse sounds okay ta hear, even tho if I know it’s not a Louisianimal, I’m gonna just let it go in one ear and out tha otha; no wonder tha below-average ratings… Hearin’ tha 3^rd verse & it str8; I give it props… My Rating: 3.4

12. “Through & Through”
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> Beat cool fa tha south, here… Hearin’ tha rappin’ & it good; why anotha track wit only one big verse? My Rating: 3.3

13. “No Details” feat. Bumpy J, Debu At All, K-9, The Beast & Young Fellie
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> An okay beat, here; nothin’ too much ta say… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it sounds okay, so far… This iz mainly decent but why 5 ½ minutes long? I don’t feel like leavin’ much feedback… Rather have a hook & betta transitionin’ than a long-ass verse… I mean, a hook appears, randomly, which it’s str8; I’ll give it a lil’ bit of props… Tha verses & err-body str8 wit they rhymes; nothin’ terrible, at least… My Rating: 3.7

14. “Picture My Pain” feat. Bumpy J, K-9 & The Beast
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> Sounds like a regular-soundin’ ‘90s beat & vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it ain’t too bad, here… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse & it ain’t bad, as well; keep up tha rappin’… Got tha 3^rd verse goin’ on, here & it cool, tho with no hook, I’m not feelin’ it that much… My Rating: 2.7

15. “Hard Times (OG Mix)”
Producer: Eldorado Red

>>> This a nice lil’ mix; I like ‘em both, basically… My Rating: 3.6

16. “Stay Off Mine” feat. Bumpy J, K-9 & The Beast
Producer: B. Bentley

>>> Sounds like an okay beat vibe, here; nothin’ much ta vibe to, tho… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse & it aight; keep it comin’… Tha hook doesn’t move me that much; it iz what it iz, I guess? Tha 2^nd verse sounds aight, here; nothin’ too excitin’ but it str8… Got a 3^rd verse comin’ from a deeper-soundin’ dude & it aight; nothin’ special… My Rating: 3.1

Overall: Not really that big about this CD; maybe, it was tha Pittsburg connection? A lot of tracks mainly sounded like they were lackin’ excitement; more rhymes than catchy vibes?

Review #264: Ron Gray "Ron Gray a.k.a. The Bossman"

Reviewed on 7.09.2009 (Review #264)

FrankieThaLuckyDog... again? That's right! I don't stop this shit! I'm on my grind all day, ya heard me! Tha next review in my marathon iz Ron Gray "AKA The Bossman"! Start Time: 7:39 PM | End Time: 8:05 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. Each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself with my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Intro
I have a STRONG feelin' about this CD!!! >>> Are you goin' ta speak, or iz it just a beat? SMH @ tha anticipation; not a good intro wit just a beat. My Rating: N/A

02. "Every Little Hit Helps"
Let's see how we gon have a song! >>> You sound good on this shit! I like tha "dumb shit" part; sounds like you'd be a GREAT gangsta rapper! Interesting song, interesting 1st verse, and nice hook. Tha 2nd verse iz off to a much betta start wit tha "wanna be a dope dealer" part. Tha 3rd verse tells me you 'bout that gangsta shit right chea; I feel you on everything you're sayin'! My Rating: 4.2

03. "Player On The Real"
Looks like this gon be anotha "real" song right chea!! >>> West Coast style in tha beat here... Great job on tha 1st verse. Tha hook iz pretty good too. Ooh, "you're 19 years old, livin' on your own." Must be rough, although I guess you made it through. Nice song right here wit tha 2nd verse too! Glad you spoke tha realness of your life! My Rating: 4.0

04. "Straight From My Nuts" Feat. General Duce & Big Duck
More of that real shit? I'm really lookin' forward ta this one!! >>> A hood song right here! Real nice 1st verse, and tha title iz tha shit when it's said! Keep this hood shit goin'!! Here's General Duce on tha 2nd verse... I like how he said, "where we don't take no shit;" nice toughness right there! LOL @ tha ending of tha verse: "straight from my nut sack;" crazy shit right here! Here comes tha 3rd verse from Big Duck... Tha 3rd verse went hard too! My Rating: 4.3

½time: Pretty good start. It looks like all tha songs are 4.0 or higher fa me, so I guess Ron Gray, you doin' yo thang!!

05. "Mr. Bossman"
It says "(Street)", so I guess tha radio version iz here somewhere... Let's see how good of a single this was... >>> I'm really feelin' this intro right chea!! Ooh, nice style in tha rappin' and tha voice on tha 1st verse here! This sounds like tha best song on here! I really liked tha 1st verse, and tha hook went pretty good too! Nice shit right here fa every undaground head! A hood rapper's lyrical style in tha 2nd verse, which I'm feelin'! Nice job on this shit right here; great song!! My Rating: 4.4

06. "Regardless" Feat. Sawedoff & 5 Tech
Lemme check this joint out... >>> Anotha catchy joint right here! Tha beat here iz pretty nice, and you doin' a nice job rappin' on this bitch! Let's see this 2nd verse here... Soundin' pretty good fa a start. Ooh, iz that you ("tha bossman") on tha 3rd verse? That might be 5 Tech... "Regardless," (LOL) it sounds great!! My Rating: 4.2

07. "Fuck That Hoe"
Only 2:37 on tha length, but this should be a good one too! >>> LOL @ tha hoe "that's good fa a dick suck." Sounds like a pretty good start. Interesting song fa tha ladies, as well as tha lyrics. Wow, it ended outta nowhere... My Rating: 4.1

08. "Mr. Bossman (Radio)"
Ooh, tha radio version to this song DID make it! See #5 fa tha review!

09. Outro
Lemme see how we gon end it? >>> Oh no, anotha one without any talkin'? I know this turned out ta be a 5* CD, but there could've been better intro & outro here... My Rating: N/A

Overall: Well, congrats on havin' a 5* CD! This CD was pretty good, although nothin' overwhelmin' came outta it (4.6 or higher rating). Keep doin' yo thang, and I'm glad I got ta enjoy/review this shit!

Rankings (according to my ratings):

06. "Player On The Real" 4.0
05. "Fuck That Hoe" 4.1
04. "Every Little Hit Helps" 4.2
03."Regardless" Feat. Sawedoff & 5 Tech 4.2
02. "Straight From My Nuts" Feat. General Duce & Big Duck 4.3
01. "Mr. Bossman" 4.4
