Review #1,777: Blanco "4 Zips"

Reviewed on 7.31.2018 (Review #1,777)

Been kinda ducked-off wit certain music things, due to how disappointin’ things have been… However, since July’s almost over & I haven’t done anything for Louisiana, yet, I guess I should do somethin’… Here goes my review for Stay Stoned Kartel’s Blanco 4 Zips! I really am diggin’ tha artwork! Would luv some lean, but I’ll have to wait for tha south! Tha purp? After this review, ya dig? I’m on Day 13 of 20 of no dayz off at work, too! However, wanna give you a heads up: Since I’ve been really ducked-off wit tha underground shit, my patience level for any bullshit music, especially mainstream & money topics, iz at a 0!! So, stay prepared; I will!! Start Time: 6:48 PM | End Time: 7:18 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Intro”
>>> Even tho I’m ehh with my music mood, I’ll try and get inta a lil’ somethin’… Kinda likin’ your “intro,” here… Hearin’ tha beginning of tha verse and I almost thought it was said more than rapped; that’s what tha flow reminded me of… Diggin’ your street rhymes; reminds me of tha beginning of my Louisiana undaground, a lil’, I guess ‘cause I haven’t heard anything in a while… My Rating: 3.8

02. “4 Zips”
>>> A decent track…; hook ain’t bad… Not really into tha 1st verse wit tha “If you ain’t talkin’ money…” Honestly, that’s true wit how I’ve been taken advantage of. However, err-body want “money;” I want Louisiana music, if it’s rap! Tha 2nd verse has a much-betta start to it than tha 1st verse wit tha consistency… “Up for three dayz;” let’s give that stamina to some of these party poopers I deal with, in Louisiana, that are in their 30’s! I’m in my 30’s, now; you don’t see me lazy!! But yeah, just a decent track fa me, here… My Rating: 2.8

03. “Big Bluntz”
>>> Beat sounds randomly louder than tha previous track? Definitely feelin’ tha hook wit tha content but this beat can sound more southern/less-mainstream? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it straight… I like it betta when you went acapella fa a lil’ bit… Right before tha 2nd verse, when tha beat dies down fa a lil’, it doesn’t strike me as underground too much… I’ono, maybe ‘cause I’m used to a better, more local sound? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s ehh; a regular-soundin’, not-special verse… My Rating: 3.0

04. “‘Bout My Fedi”
>>> Beat’s a touch betta than tha previous one… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like real-life vs. street-type lyrics… Good but not tha coolest/best fa me… Hearin’ tha hook and for a “fedi” topic/hook, I have to say, it’s not as bad as I thought… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; nothin’ really ta say… My Rating: 3.1

½time: Just a decent CD, as I’m not too into tha scene, these dayz…; 3.2 for tha CD rating, so far…

05. “Ride Wit It”
>>> An okay hook; nothin’ ta say… Hearin’ tha 1st verse ova this decent-soundin’ beat and it sounds like you know how ta “ride wit it,” here (dat choppa); nice… Sounds like an uncredited feature on tha 2nd verse? Sounds a lil’ betta on tha voice, here, wit a decent verse… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s anotha newbie? Random fa me… Sounds like they’re just some random folk that has tha same lifestyle as you that just hopped onto tha track… My Rating: 3.2

06. “Pack Came In”
>>> Beat sounds betta, even tho its louder volume sounds like it’s not mastered right… Hearin’ tha hook and I like tha content, but tha flow don’t sound like anythang special…, or Baton Rouge-soundin’, I’ll say… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s ehh; anotha rapper, I’d say… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s nice to start “off Airline;” gotta luv that highway! As far as tha rest of tha lyrics, fuck this; uninterested… My Rating: 2.4

07. “On Me”
>>> Sounds like a good hook, tho tha sound of this ain’t nothin’ special fa my undaground tastes… And yeah, gotta luv that “smell!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it just sounds like a regular rap song fa these times… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s anotha drug-flippin’ song, as always in this undaground that’s not Louisiana-soundin’… From 3:13 – 3:16, why tha static/fucked-up sound?? My Rating: 2.7

08. “Ain’t No Drought”
>>> Lil’ One The Champ on tha feature, accordin’ to tha intro? Hook ehh; repetitive… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds decent wit how you comin’ through wit it… This beat a lil’ betta than tha average ones on here… Tha 2nd hook’s even longer? Sounds like it neva ends… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it ain’t no Lil’ One…; sounds aight… Like tha line, “…when tha shrooms come through!” Yeah! But yeah, it’s aight; nothin’ comin’ outta my feedback… My Rating: 2.5

09. “Way Up”
>>> Beat’s way too much of a mainstream sound and tha hook ain’t really poppin’ fa me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s ehh; boring…? “This that smoke-a-blunt, pop-a-pill shit…;” really? Naw, not on my level! That’s why, I ain’t gettin’ high till this review done…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and I don’t have anythang ta say, except, why does this boringness have to be tha longest track on here (4:37)? Too boring; you can keep your lyrics! A 3rd verse…? Not likin’ at 3:55: “Ones round me;” almost sounded like an attempting-to-auto-tune Drake! Ick!! And, an auto-tuned ending? Lemme rate it lower than a 1.3! My Rating: 1.1

Overall: I can’t say that this iz trash but it’s not really on my level. Just not into what every1 else doin’; I’m into that Baton Rouge, hyped-up, grimy-gangsta sound, not this mainstream/typical/Internet-undaground sound…
